::The nurse smiled at me "he'll be okay, he just needs some rest. You may go in" i bow to her and peek in the curtain.
"hey... how are you feeling...? i said in a soft voice. I noticed his clothes on the chair beside his bed and wondered if he was still in his speedos under there, but I decided to try not to even think about it.::

"Is that a rhetorical question, or do you actually want to know?" His voice was barely above a whisper. He yawned...why did the nurse's office have to be so cold...he felt like he was going to fall asleep any minute.
"Risa...." He said after a long pause.
"Do you think I was too hard on Chidori?...I mean...she was the one that dunked me under..but......" He rolled over and tilted his head in question.
"I was angry..really angry...and the only thing that kept running through my head was that if she'd caused me to die....I couldn't prove anything to you....that I'm not toying with you...I meant everything I said in the poolhouse...but...if I had drowned...saying it wouldn't have made any difference."

::i came in and put his clothes under the chair, the chair sat at the head fo the bed and I sighed "I really wanna know..."
I looked at the thin sheet that lay on top of his body and ask "are you warm enough?" his face still had a hint of blue in it, and the room being air-conditioned didn't help either.
"Chidori saved your life... I wanted to go in after you but being wet, my true body would be exposed... Im so selfish..." I looked to the floor.::

"Like crap..." He chuckled, but ended up coughing, he nodded in between fits, his own body heat turning in on itself as he lay there.
He sighed and rolled onto his back, taking a hand out from under the covers to stare at it like he had that morning.
"I'm glad she did...but..you're not selfish...you have a duty to you and your mom...to be safe at all costs." He stretched out his arm and made as though to catch something..his mind wandering where it would as he talked.
"Besides," He smirked.
"I wouldn't have died....I've got to go out in a blaze of glory..not drowning in the school's pool...in the school's speedos....do you realize how embarrasing that would be? To be floating face down with these things showing the world everything below the belt?" He shifted under the cover and grimaced.
"I don't know about you..but I would die all over again if that happened."

::"Can I get you anything? Hot tea? Can I do anything for you?"
I put my hand to my chest and close my eyes "Kane.... you are worth more to me than my secret... so please... dont hold this incident against me.... I felt horrible as you lay there on the ground motionless.. I was so cold to you... I would have hated myself if it ended where I was mad at you.." i sniffle and look away.
"Oh, why dont you like the speedos?? I think they make all the boys NOT look like little girls. Besides... I enjoyed the view at least...." I twiddled my thumbs in my lap, regretting I had just said that to him.
"Anyway, why dont you give Chidori a chance?? She really likes you alot, and I dont think its fair that youre not giving her a chance at all, to show you her true side.." I was being serious::

He shook his head when she offered him something, he was fine as he was..just needed rest that was all. He turned his head back and smiled at her.
"I'm not about to hold you responsible for anything, I really should have skipped anyway." He stuck his tounge out and grinned around it.
He reached under the cover and tugged a moment and glared at Risa.
"They're Speedos...I don't care if I look like a girl, so long as I'm not being squished!" He raised both eyebrows and smirked.
"Oh you did eh?" He chuckled.
"Glad to be of assistance then." He was about to make another smart remark...but then Risa mentioned Chidori and his smirk faded...his eyebrows still lifted as if to say: 'are you nuts?'
"You're not serious are you?" He searched her face.
"Good greif you are..." He rolled back to the wall and slapped a hand over his face.
"Fine..fine, if that's what you want I'll go out with her, one week...give her a chance to show me her 'true side' as you put it." He rolled back.
"But I can tell you now...I'm not going to be happy about it. If at the end of that one week she still annoys the crap outta me...I'm going to climb into your bedroom window and sleep at the foot of your bed for a month." His childish scowl made it seem like a joke, but he was determined to do just as he'd said.
"Now, will that make you happy?"

::I growled "You gotta stop cutting, Its really gonna bite 'cha in the ass at the end of the school year you know..."
She giggled at his movement under the covers and responded "OH Kane, YOU dont look like a girl, some of the other boys are pretty girly.... and stop teasing me!! I shouldn't have said that out loud and it...just slipped..." I blushed immensely, trying not to think about that kind of stuff.
I smile at him as he agrees "I know she'll make you happier than any other girl could. I know it, she has a way with boys..." i smile, kind of glad he gave in. At least, with her, he could do normal activities and if ever, have normal healthy children.
I laugh at his compromise "okay, but under one condition- you gotta sleep in your undies!" I laughed, joking with him of course.
"And yes, this will make me happy, it will give u a chance top get to know her..." I slid my chair closer to his bedside and laied my head down on an empty space on the bed, the sheets were cold and I sighed deeply "maybe I should have taken Sano up on his offer... (*Sano, one of the guys who fights with Kane, and the one that spoke to Risa while she walked to school)::

"Eh I do well enough to pass....always do." He grimaced and tugged at the swimming trunks again...why were they still going where they wern't wanted?! He was lying still!!
He shuddered and shook his head.
"If by 'way with boys' you mean has a way to creep them out beyond belief then yes..she does." He smiled like the proverbial cat and chuckled.
"Fine....but I hope you know I go commando on some days." He smiled gently as she lay her head on the bedside and ran his hand through her hair, watchng the way it filtered through his fingers.
"You do, and I'll make sure that he never walks again." He laughed and played with Risa's hair until at long last he gave into the cold and the fatiuge and slept.

::I glare at him "im serious Kane, dont you wanna go to college?? be successful???" i laughed out loud as he fidgeted with himself again.
i giggle at his remark about commando "you CANT be serious! Youre embarrassed enough in the swimming trunks in front of me, and you wanna be in your birthday suit for real?" she smiled and closed her eyes as he ran his fingers though her hair... noone had never done that, and it was so calming. My tension seemed to vanish as he went on playing with my hair. I soon drifted off to sleep too, my head still on the side of his bed::

Kane shrugged.
"Never really thought about it." He nodded very serious.
"If you're the only one to see me, I'll do it."

He dreamed. Not of Chidori, not of Juri, not even of his parents as was his dreams of late. He dreamed of Risa. All he wanted to do was to keep her out of harm's way...and he'd do anything to acomplish that...he found himself being drug back, by a pair of unseen female hands. He made a grab for Risa's hand, but he was too far to reach...he watched sadly as she, smiling that sad smile, vanished into the dark, saying only 'be happy'.
"But that's my line..." He protested in his mind. Risa deserved happiness..not him..not Kane, he was fine as he was....but.....he hung his head and whispered one final time.
"If you order it so it shall be." Darkness shrouded his vision and he dreamed no more.

::I yawned and awoke, stretching out my arms. I looked at Kanes face, looking so sad as he slept. I touched his face softly and looked at the clock behind him- it was 3:30, classes were over. I sighed deeply, truly knowing in my heart I didnt want him to leave me... for anyone.... I felt I had a duty to be by his side and keep him calm... keep him smiling... keep him warm... a tear rolled down my cheek as i stroked his cheek, ever so lightly::

"Mmmmm? Risa?" He slowly opened his eyes and yawned.
"Mmm...what time is it?" He sat up and rubbed his eyes, looking around the bright linoleum room.
He scratched a side of his face by running a hand up and down it, stretching out. He looked back and saw Risa's face and he reached out to swipe the tear, with a sigh, he smiled.
"Aww..come on, no more water works 'kay?" He crossed his legs under him.
"You know...even if....even if..I can't...make you happy the way I want to...I'll always be there to listen if you've got a problem....and I'll still trash the jerk that tries to hurt you." He gave her a thumbs up.
"Espesically if it's Sano."

::I looked into his eyes with sad ones of my own, i wipe my eyes on my sleeve, keeping my head on the bed. I sigh deeply, my heart skipped a beat as it used to when he gently touched my face. I nodded, agreeing, no more crying. I had to face it- we weren't meant to be, but I was alright with that. As long as he was happy, its all that mattered to me.
I look into his eyes, sitting up "Kane... how do you want to make me happy? I dont understand?" I cocked my head to the side.
"And Sano was always nice to me...." i look to the ceiling and whistle::

He grinned, leaning down to retrieve his shirt, and slipped it over his head.
"I want to make sure that you're always going to be alright...that you're never gonna cry again...." He grabbed his pants and thought about changing, but just slipped them on over his swim wear..why not, they were close enough to underwear as it was...no need for him to switch.
"Sano's a pain, you don't know him like I do..." He smirked.
"With my fist in his face." He coughed and made an apologetic face to Risa and went on.
"I can't protect you if I can't see you." He said flatly, as he was jerking on his shoes.
"Plain and simple."

::I watched him dress, wishing I could see him without the clothes on one more time but i just smirked to myself.
"Kane.. Ill be fine. As long as youre happy, its all that matters to me. Noone in this area knows of my wings except that one gang member...." she was still worried about that.
"Kane, didn't your mother tell you its good to cry sometimes? It helps you express how youre feeling, when you have no other way of letting out the other emotions that cloud your mind... thats why I cry alot... I mask alot of bottled emotions..." I stand up and stretch, puffing out my chest to crack my upper back, with a brump I grinned "nice.."
She remembered what he said while she was drifting off about 'if youre the only one to see me, ill do it' and i smile "you'll do what now?" I laugh hysterically, knowing full well he's full of it.::

He gave her a half-hearted smile and nodded.
"Yeah.....that's right..." He shook his head.
"Nope, mom told me to be strong...that was her last words...from what Juri told me, she wanted me to live my life the way that I wanted and that would be enough to make her proud..so I'm doing just that." He stood now fully dressed and glared at her.
"And you waited this long to ask me that? You know full well what I'd do. If you're the only one to see me, I'll sleep commando." He stuck his hands on his hips and nodded as-a-matter-of-factly.

::My smile fades as he spoke of his mother, I looked to him apologetically "im sorry... I didnt mean to bring up bad memories... but if your mother wanted you to live a good life, do you think she really likes watching you get beat up, and cutting classes?"
I scratch my wing "gah! I need to get my wings out soon, theyre getting impatient!" I rustle them under my clothes, wishing i could rip my clothes off, but that was out of the question... and I was in my uniform too.
I laughed" im sorry i was half asleep when you said that" she blushed and looked at the floor, standing in front of him. He stood about 5 inches taller than her and she sighed deeply, mind getting clouded with thoughts... I laugh and tap his shoulder "YOU WOULDNT HAVE THE GUTS!!!" i smirk "If you did, then Id just have to too..." I grin, not usually shy of being naked but Ive never been naked in front of someone i really liked before and i couldnt get it off my mind. i giggled::

"They're not bad memories. I love to talk about Mom and Dad, but I guess you're right..Mom...she was always worried about me when I'd get in fights in grade school." He scratched the back of his head and made a shove.
"Then go on and get home...I...I've still got to find...guh...Chidori...That is if you're still serious?"
He took the hit and tapped back.
"Wanna bet?" He smirked.
"Good, I look forward to sleeping at the foot of your bed then."

::"then you should try to live, love, and prosper, for her sake..." i yawned and looked out the window, pondering if I should fly home.
My face changed mood completely as he brought up Chidori and I put on a fake smile "of course I am, i want you to like her, maybe you two can have a family."
I put my hands on my hips and leaned forward, making him step back "YAH I BET! I Bet my nude body on yours!" I laugh hysterically, this was getting us nowhere.
"I need to get my backpak then I want to show you something... special... so cmon.." I took his hand gently and led him out into the empty halls and into our empty classroom. i grabbed my bag and looked to him "ready?"::

"I live..." He protested.
"Haven't found anyone to love yet..and I prospoer well enough....in my fights." He grinned and chuckled.
He shuddered.
"Geh....family...no thank you..not anytime soon, or ever for that matter..." He shivered and grimaced.
"I still don't know why I have to do this....I have a pretty good feeling about her 'true side'....and it's scary."
"Then," He said taking her hand and shaking it.
"It's settled. If I'm not completely satisfied with the one week I date Chidori You and I both will sleep nude for one month." He stopped and clarified.
"While I'm at the foot of your bed...not you in your room, me in mine...kay?"
He let himself be pulled along, almost regretting that this would be the last time he could hold her hand like this for a week...stupid...he should never had agreed to it..then he thought...but he was getting something much better out of it...a month at the foot of her bed...what a turnabout.
"So what do you have to show me?" He asked as Risa grabbed her bag.

::i smile at him "Give Chi a chance, i think you may be pleasantly suprized..." I pulled the carnival tickets from my backpack and gave them to him "You should go with her. My moms never around, I would have went alone." I smile at him warmly.
I blush at this thought of us both nude and hysterically laugh "YOURE ON! BOTH NUDE, MY PLACE in a week if you fail!" I laugh maniacally, kinda feeling bad for him because he'd be exposing wayy too much infront of me, but it was still funny.
I pulled him along and up the steps to the roof. I turned around and smiled at him and unbuttoned my shirt::

He took the tickets with a confused face...if her mom wasn't going...why didn't she? He smiled and shook his head.
"I'm not going anywhere where there are whirling rides, cotton candy and that spaz." He followed her to the roof and then spazzed.
"WAITAMINUTE!! WHAT ARE YOU--" He stopped looking sideways and then took his arms down from where he was flailing.
"....Nevermind...please continue." He sat on the roof and smirked.

"I want you to stop trying to set me up with the scary fangirl, stop teasing me, and skip the entire one week thing so that I can start sleeping at the bottom of your bed....for a month is variable."
