...... ........ GGRRRROOOOWWWWLLLLLL "UUUgggnnnnn..." Kane was sure his stomach was eating itself, he lay on his back basking in the sun like a lizard and grimaced as his stomach rolled over and over again. Pounding all those phantoms into oblivion had taken it's toll and he wriggled around like a fish out of water. "SSOOOOO Huuunnngggrrryyyy!!!!" He knew he shouldn't have eaten his lunch so fast..it never lasted him more than a few hours if he scarfed it. Another cloud rolled by and he wondered, as the shadow blocked the sun from veiw breifly, how Risa was doing..was it his fault she was upset? Had he done something wrong? He'd make a point to ask her about it later, once class was over...he didn't want to see the teacher only to get yelled at for not attending yet another session. |
::I looked to my watch...2:55. Finally, the day was over and the bell rang. I glanced over at Zaharas masterpiece as Bill praised him.
"Great job kid, and such a short amount of time, I'm impressed!" he slammed his hand heavily, but friendlily on his shoulder. Bill clapped beside Zahara and yelled as everyone scrambled for the door "ALRIGHT everyone, see you Monday! Have a good weekend!" I shoved my pencil case in my backpack and slung it over my shoulder, pinching the skin of my wing. I let out a hiss and adjusted it, pulling down my drawing pad and board. I walked away and turned swiftly as the room was now empty. "Zahara... the gym teacher dropped off your jacket... its on the chair behind you.. your PDA fell out of the pocket, I hope theres nothing wrong with it. And... i sure hope Kane and you didn't fight dirty..." I scoffed, adjusting the weight of my bag over my shoulder. Kisa rushed back in and flew past me and grabbed Zaharas' arm. "So, where are we meeting tomorrow? What time?" her eyes glimmered, looking up into his cold blue gaze. I let out a yawn and about-faced, heading for the exit. Ill leave the love bugs alone..:: |
He hid a yawn behind a cuffed sleeve, glancing casually around the room checking to see what Bill, Risa, and the other students were up to from time to time.
Acting in a manner that showed boredom and un interest as if to offset the fact he was keeping track of them all. The thundering of drums and flashing of high pitched violins could be heard from Capt'n Bill's CD player as they drew on. The model fidgeted on the stand now and then, scratching his nose as frustrated grumbling noises followed by the rash rubbing of chamois on paper could be heard from a disgruntled student across the room. This seemed fairly easy for Zahara, as he knew well what was under the skin that made the human form look the way it did. His in-class "sketch" looked a lot more like a scientific documentation rather than a reflection of the artist's eye. A glance at his watch showed it was 2:53. He put the vine charcoal into it's container and packed the box away. The snapping of latex could be heard as he carefully pulled the cuff of his right glove, turning it inside out, much like a surgeon. He packed the smaller things away and stretched his arms over his head. His diaphragm rose as he breathed in deeply. Relaxing in his seat he waited for the final minute to pass. 2:55. Class was dismissed. The blaring of the bell could be heard from the hall as people packed their things. He flinched as a hand clamped down on his shoulder and turned to see who it was. "Impressed? Now that isn't like you at all. I suppose you'll want a flagship in the background on Monday?" His blank expression didn't match his sarcastic, yet friendly tone. He lowered his voice, acting a bit shameful, once again disguising his intentions. "Would you mind E-Mailing me a copy of this week's class attendance? I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing too many classes. The school site will be just fine, ZVoltair. I'll contact Student Services once I receive it so I can straighten everything out." He sighed feeling drained after putting so much effort into explaining something so small. The caffeine was wearing off. He hadn't had much rest and he was running on empty. He covered the assignment with a spare paper and packed the pad and clipboard away. Lazily he pulled the strap of his portfolio over his shoulder and turned to the girl who addressed him. "Oh.. How thoughtful, I would have left without it." He gave her a blank stare, speaking in a dulled voice. "Fight dirty? I'd hardly call that a fight.. Enemies fight; People who respect each other spar. It is what teaches and prepares us for the worst." He seemed to be implying something as he picked up his jacket, slipping the PDA into his pant pocket. "If you were asking if I had hurt him, he is quite strong and can handle himself." He smiled and winked, messing with her head to make light of the conversation. "No need to worry, I was gentle." There was a hint of passion in his voice as he ran his fingers through his hanging bangs. He smirked and stepped toward the open doorway as the arm grabber clung to him like a five-foot tick. "Tomorrow..." He seemed a bit dazed, wanting to sleep and not have to think ahead for a moment. "Ou..." He stammered, unconsciously revealing to anyone who knew enough about language that he was not even from the country as he had first proclaimed. "Would it be.. appropriate if I just picked you up?" This way I'm in more control of what happens.. Cant have random people coming to the "house". He watched as Risa headed towards them and tapped her shoulder as if stopping her from moving forward. "I didn't thank you for taking care of my things... as much as you could." Without thanking her he slipped the piece of paper the woman at the convenience store gave him between his fingers and slid it between the strap of her portfolio and the plastic shoulder rest. "Such posture, you should stand up straight a bit more, you might run better." He stepped out of her way as if dismissing her and preventing further conversation. Turning to Kisa he smiled warmly, contrasting his icey gaze. "The carnival should be fun. I look forward to it.. What time should I pick you up?" He had a romantic air to him as he locked his arm around her's. I don't want the class to see me as taking sides, it is best I stay neutral in the eyes of the student body.. otherwise my connections will become very limited. This might work out.. I will just need some earplugs.. |
"YA HA!!" Kane practically leapt down the stairs as the bell rang, he caught the railing and let gravity pull him around so that he raced down the hall and out the door before too many students could file out of the classrooms. He felt better, even though his stomach was still turning itself inside out, he had enough energy to get out of Dodge as soon as possible.
He breathed deeply outside, even though he'd been on the roof and out in the open all day, when he wasn't burdened by the school's campus, the air seemed fresher and more...natural. He waited by the front gate for Risa, hoping to ask her what was wrong with her as they walked home. It hit him then..he wondered if Juri ever woke up again...he laughed to think of his sister still asleep on the couch after all this time...knowing her, she'd moved two inches, and that was to roll onto her back, or side. |
[Gawd I have alot to respond to >.>]
Bill let out a heavy laugh, his stomach bumbled up and down. "Hahaha kid, youre alright. That would be great, I think. Extra credit if you do it..." He nodded about the emial and took note of his email address on his palm with a pen he pulled from his pocket. With a click, he closed the pen and nodded "Will-do! have a good weekend Zahara, I look forward to seeing you on Monday." He walked off and out of the room. I groaned, a bit jealous he was getting the attention from Bill. It was usually me he talked with.. "It's not like I had much of a choice but give it to you... Bill kind of just threw it at me..." I blushed and turned around, staring at him. "G-gentle??" I questioned his smooth-talking and ran my hand through my hair, naughty thoughts running amuck in my mind. I blushed as he made contact with me..then slipped the paper between my collarbone and strap. I nodded, still a little pink and nodded. I made my way down the hallway to my locker, taking the paper and opening it before I opened my locker. The tan paper simply read: "Meet you at the Carnival!" in beautiful calligraphy lettering. The background was a simple image of a white rose tied with a red ribbon. It seemed like a love letter...I quirked an eyebrow and nodded, seeing the vendors name in the corner. I smiled, thinking that I'd love to get photos of some of the bouquets there... I'd have to make a note to bring my camera. Throwing my things into my locker I pulled out my books I needed and sighed deeply, slamming it shut. Kisa just laughed and nodded "Of course tomorrow, silly, did you forget already?" She squeed "You Drive??? OHH I can't wait! Yea, heres my address..." the pulled a paper from her pocket and handed it to him, looking as if she prepared for this. She blushed and looked up to him...the grip on her arm was returned and her heart raced. Did he really like her? She could only dream. |
He took a mental note of Bill's assignment, not having his PDA with him.
(To Risa) "Not much of a choice? At first I thought you were cold.. Then I felt maybe you were misunderstood. Then I thought you were a slacker and a liar who just didn't like me.. Since the only thing I have ever done to you was ask you a question regarding a comment you had made about me. But even as I extend my hand to you, you treat me with such distaste. Maybe one day you will be more accepting of others. But until that day comes, my hand will always be there." (To Kisa) "Forget How could I? His eyes gleamed as he smiled. His posture showed he was confident and very sure of himself. He led her out into the hall and headed towards the exit doors slowly as they spoke. "Of course I drive." The thought of not driving sounded silly to him. It hadn't crossed his mind before as he had liscenses to various types of vehicles. How else would he be able to rig them to operate remotely? Travel was his livelihood. He took the paper feeling quite amused. She must have prepared everything in advanced.. How long has she been interested in me? I haven't paid her any mind before today. "Okay then, I'll meet you there." He glanced at the address written so carefully on the paper, slipping it into his shirt pocket. "What time would you prefer to be picked up?" He opened the exit door for her, waiting for her to pass through. He would wait for an answer before parting. |
[thanks for the (to Risa) and such- that would have confuzed me XD.Anya, get on AIM so we can discuss "Himiko"]
I pushed my supplies into my locker, his last words as I exited echoing though my head. I slammed it shut, echoing thoughout the empty hallway. Maybe I was too hard on him... but he creepd me out... I shuddered and slung my bag over my shoulder, careful as not to pinch my feathers. Slacker... Liar... Cold.. Misunderstood... I let out a tich, grinning to myself as I stared at the floor as I made my way down the hallway, seeing Zahara holding the door open for Kisa. My smile soon faded. He is right on the money about me... about everything... except...slacker... I work hard, and I know it... I gritted my teeth and decided to ignore him as I approached. I simply opened the other door, that was on the opposite of the one he held open and walked past him, not even giving him a second glance. It was windy today and the air had a dampness to it that I didn't like. Rain? On a Friday? What a start to a weekend. I kicked a rock as I made my way to the gate, suprized to see Kane waiting. All day.. I didn't even really think of him. Zahara...and his words..and stares... was all that ran through my mind. "Hey there, I'm glad to see youre in one piece. Should I go on ahead? It'll look funny if were seen walking home together... don't need people talking more about me and you..." I smiled at him, trying to hide the fact i was bothered by Zahara. I didn't want to burden Kane with my worries over nothing. Besides, he and Zahara seemed to get along well. Never having stopped smiling, Kisa walked with him, never leaving her eyes from his. "Well, most boys our age don't drive" She grinned and brought her index finger to her lips. "Don't worry, I wont tell anyone." She winked and walked past him, bowing quickly as he held the door for her. She smiled and looked to him, tucking her hair behind her ear. "Well, I have to get to my track meeting.. I see you tomorrow, around noon! Bye!!" With that she ran off towards the yard. [Pants* gawd i gotta get used to this >.> Damn literate Anyakan... *smacks her with cheese* "Thatll be 25 cents please" |
Kane waved to Risa as he saw her exit the school, he adjusted his bag and smiled...trying to lighten the mood.
"Hey yourself, what did you think I was going to come off the roof in a body bag?" He chuckled then grew serious. "Uh un..I want to know what's been going on with you all day, Risa...something's bothering you I can tell...and it didn't start when Zahara and I started our match." He gazed at her worriedly. "You can talk to me if something's bothering you, you know that, there's been too much crap that we've dealt with for you to keep me this distanced now." |
[I'm tired of waiting for Anyakan... its been more than a month...]
I lowered my eyes and spoke softly. "Zahara... he senses somethings up with me... I'm afraid of him.. hes so mysterious I just cant figure him out, Kane. I feel uncomfortable around him, like he knows something about me that i dont want him to know.. if you know what I mean..." I looked up, tucking my hair behind my ear. "I don't want you to stop being friends with him just because of me though.. I'm glad you and him get along... so don't let my worried head get in the way of your happiness..." I walked ahead, slinging my bag over my back. "Plus, even though you guys were just 'sparring' I dont like fighting.. and I think you know why..." I thought of Chidori and blinked softly. "I'll go on ahead, I'll see you at home.." I started to walk away, right past him quietly as the wind picked up and the clouds rolled in over head. |
He listened quietly, nodding every so often and then smiled, ruffling her hair a little.
"No worries." He chuckled good-naturedly. "Seriously, I promised didn't I? That no one was going to find out and hurt you anymore? I've got to keep my end of it, even if it means keeping Drac at a safe distance." He winked and shouldered his bag. I should have guessed that would have something to do with it...I guess it still bothers her even after all this time...well....it really hasn't been that long has it? I can't expect her to be like me and shrug it off everytime...that's what I'm here for. He laughed to himself and nodded. "Tell Juri I might be a little late, gonna go for a jog." He waved and adjusted the straps to tie his bag around his waist. He was going to wait and see if Scary wanted to go with him before heading on his rounds. He looked around but hadn't seen the little Shadow anywhere. "Hmm...wonder if he's still inside." |
(Edit- coudnt delete double post.)
|
"Heh" He smirked in response to her quip about his age, looking out at the murky grey sky as she walked through, looking back at her at the last moment to notice her bow.
"Noon it is.. It seems like it will rain.. Try to stay dry." He had a sort of monotone voice as he began to succumb to his lack of sleep once again. He breathed in tiredly as he watched her run off. Such an interest in sport.. I haven't taken notice to this before.. She is connected to Chidori and Risa.. Hopefully this one proves to be worth the time invested.. He breathed in tiredly and stretched his arms up high, crossing them behind his head as he walked down the stairs of the school. The sound of supplies rustling about in his portfolio could be heard as he walked. The anticipation of rest fueled his wide strides on the way to his newly assigned home. Having skipped last night's dinner, breakfast, and now lunch. He was too tired to go to the store to pick up food and prepare at home. His stomach grumbled angrily as he stopped looking in the direction of the restaurant he had seen some time before. Should I...? |
I smiled and ducked my head down as he fluffed my hair.
I know, I know.. he's just so damn mysterious... I never know what he's gonna do, or what he's up to..." I sighed and waved to him as he ran off. "I'll tell Juri, no worries!" I yelled after him. Most of the students were gone now, and I walked down the leaf-filled path towards my new home.. Kane's home. This.. could be bad. I didn't have a key, and I hoped Juri would be home when I got there. "C'mon pick up, pick up..." she paced back and fourth in the empty, dark room, the phone just kept ringing. "Oh Zahara! FINE! I'll find you on my GPS if you don't pick up the damn phone!" She stomped on the floor with her heel as it continued to ring. |
A chill ran down his spine as he breathed in the cold dampened air.
The rain would not wait for him.. but neither would his stomach as it grumbled louder than Bill during a midterm crit. I'll make a run for it and take it to base. Just as he jolted forward he heard a horrible screeching and churning noise coming from his PDA. Upon taking it out he realized he had a call but could not understand the garbled symbols that normally was his caller ID. Don't tell me I need a new phone now.. He tapped the screen to answer but made no noise. He stood silent waiting for the caller to identify them self before speaking. |
"Zahara?! Zahara! Pick up the damn phone, its your Momma Mika! Are you there?" She screamed into the phone. She stamped her foot again and this time, left a mark on the floor. She growled and plopped down into the massive chair behind a huge, long desk, propping her feet up on the desk. The dimly lit room was all she needed to talk to the one she was assigned to look after.
|
Kane had waited only a few more minutes for Zahara, then with a shrug, taken off on his rounds, even as a slighty rain began to drizzle over the city. Kane shivered inwardly, everything from the tip of his nose to the balls of his feet were chilled, but if felt good as he rounded a corner, the rain would help him cool off after this run.
Juri stared out of the window, it wasn't like Kane..or Risa to dilly-dally along the way home...but then again..she smiled and let the curtain in the front room fall shut again. "It's odd isn't it Abel?" "Squwak?" "That he's going through all this trouble." "Squwak." "Oh for the love of--Why am I talking to you?" She rapped lightly on the cage and turned to the cats that had taken over the couch. "Well roomies? What shall I make for dinner." Abel let out a disgusted Crwak and she glared at the cage. "I think a nice parrot stew would be good this time of year, don't you?" |
He held the phone away from him quickly as he heard the familiar voice.
They sent Mika? ..They must not trust me. After the sound of her screaming died down he held the phone against his ear once more. "Hello... mother." His lips curled into an eerie smile after he spoke in a dignified manner. The thought of playing 'house' seemed strangely amusing to him. "I'm here, there is no need to shout. Is everything ok?" He stood poised on the corner glancing about for any reason that he would receive a call with such urgency. He could never tell with Mika, she was very excitable and it was hard for him to decipher her emotions. Either she was worried or she was happy and excited, it all seemed the same volume to him. (Myess. Humor is good.) |
[i have a hard time changing the way I rp when im playing a different character for a long period of time, so please forgive me, but I will refer to Mika in first person, or I will get my words screwed up. Anyakan, if you need it posted in a lighter color or a symbol, signaling its Mika speaking/actions let me know. Im sorry fo the inconvenience, i just find it easier to rp 1st person x.x']
I started to sprint towards Kane's house as it started to rain and I hefted open the gate as I got there and ran to the porch, soaking wet. I panted heavily as I peered around for anyone inside- I only saw 2 sets of yellow eyes staring at me from the couch and I grinned, waving to my friends. I then knocked on the door quietly. "Whew, Zahara, I was so worried. It's past 3:30 pm already and you should be home. Its raining, and I know you dont have an umbrella, so stay at school, and I'll come and get you okay??" I said worriedly, tapping my heel on the newly polished desk. |
(soaking wet? Gah! It's pouring now and I'm just standing on the corner? I thought I had time for ramen.. -pout- -_-)
3:30.. Since when am I given a curfew? I've been living alone for over a year now.. unless.. they are up to something.. "I apologize for my lateness, we will meet up at the school then." His words, though brief, were stern and business-like, as he stood there the light drizzle was getting heavier. He ended the call quickly, slipping the phone into his pant pocket. He threw his long coat over his head, holding the portfolio close to his side, making a dash for the school. A hazy blur was all he could see ahead of him from under the shelter of his lab coat until he made it to the stairs. He leapt up several stairs at a time and stopped by the doors. He breathed heavily, feeling the hunger and lack of sleep creeping up on him again. Propping his portfolio against the wall he crouched down, leaning his back against the wall. He slicked the hanging bangs back with the rest of his tied hair and rubbed his eyes tiredly. He wrapped his coat like a cloak around himself on a lookout for any approaching vehicles or people. It looked dead on the streets. It didn't seem like anyone would be interested in being out on a day like this.. unless they had to be. I wonder what she is up to..? |
Juri looked at the door and smiled.
"You got lucky this time Abel, don't think it'll happen again." She chuckled and went to open the door. "Well it's about time you two--oh, hello Risa....where's Kane? Don't tell me that idiot brother of mine made you walk all the way here in the rain alone!" She looked out behind her and cracked her knuckles. "He's going to get dish duty for the rest of the week when I see him next." She turned back with a warm smile and stepped back inside. "But what are we standing here talking for, hurry up and come on in before you catch your death out there." |
"I'll see you in a few", and with a click, my son had hung up the phone.
Well, close enough to be my son anyway... I shrugged and pulled on my coat and grabbed two umbrellas and grabbing the keys, I left the dark home, locking the door tightly behind me. I jumped into the Sleek Black Mercedes and headed quickly towards the school, practically flooring it. I skidded to a stop at the gate of the school and climbed out of the car iwth my umbrella popping open, and a closed on in hand for him. I walked up to him slowly and smiled, looking down at him. "Oh Zahara, what am I going to do with you, Hm?" I knelt down at his side and brushed the stray hair from his eyes; asleep, he looked so innocent... I smiled at Juri as she let me in. "Kane said he was going for a walk or something, I donno, he and I have been strange all day. And don't be upset with him, I dont think he knew it was going to rain as soon as it did." I giggled and pulled off my shoes, then pants, laving my wet uniform and skirt still on. My wings were still tied around my legs. "Uhm, .is it alright if I get a hot shower? Its getting cold and I'm freezing.." I sneezed, looking to her, my hair still dripping. |
He let out a quiet yawn, cracking a weary eye at the warm fingers running across his forehead.
"Mmh.. Mika? Ah.. Hello" He cleared his throat and stood up slowly, feeling a bit lightheaded. "Sorry, must have nodded off there." Rubbing his eyes he sighed and put his coat on; making sure to secure the strap to his portfolio on his shoulder. He straightened his posture and breathed deeply, fighting with himself to keep his heavy lids open, trying desperately to keep himself awake in her presence. He spoke tiredly; The refined character he emulated before was gone. All that was left was the raspy tone of a sleep deprived child, teetering on the edge of consciousness. "Where.. are we going?" |
I handed him the umbrella and simply smiled at him; I could never stay mad at him for long. I brought my arm around his back and tucked my free hand under his left armpit, to help his weary body to the car; I knew he was running on empty, I just wasn't sure if he knew I was aware.
It wasn't like him to just fall asleep anywhere, especially out in the open like this; I knew he needed rest and fast. Tucking my hair behind my ears, I carefully aided him to the car. "We're going home sweety, to a nice warm bed by the fire." I smiled and maneuvered the back door open for him, helping him inside. I shut the door for him and went to my side, climbing in. "We'll be home soon, sit tight." I said quietly, my frustration from before was now completely gone. I headed home, driving more carefully now that my precious cargo was in the car. |
"A walk?" She tucked her hand under her chin and thought hard a moment, he usually didn't want to go anywhere but straight home on Fridays...unless he had a fight scheduled, but that seemed highly unlikely.
"Aw, I'm not mad with him." She smiled. "I just thought he'd be home already, don't want him going off and getting..kidnapped, shot at, stabbed..." She began counting off on her fingers and laughed. "But that's not like him now is it?" She nodded and pointed up the stairs. "By now you know where the bathroom is right? I'll make us something hot to drink while you're in there." She moved into the kitchen with a wave. "Don't feel like you have to stand on occasion here either, you're..well...you're not home but you're 'home' okay?" Juri stood next to the stove and put the filled teapot on the back eye to boil. For some reason, she couldn't help but smile...Kane wasn't going to want to sleep tonight, and she knew that...this could be her chance to practice some of those wrestling moves she picked up on. |
[You forgot the days... its Friday because the carnival is tomorrow. We will be having Chidori return to school on Monday.]
"Oh no! Now I feel like I should be out, scouting the area looking for him! now that I think of it, I dont think he has an umbrella..." I shivered and pushed the wet strands of hair from my face. I shrugged. "I cant be too smothering of him now, can i.... I'll just have to hug him twice as hard when he gets home." I walked towards the steps. "I do, thank you so very much for your hospitality, Juri. You two are... the best friends any girl could ever have.." I ran, squishing up the steps and went into the bathroom and stripped off my soaked uniform and jumped in the shower quickly. |
