Kane came back into the livingroom with a fresh pile of paper and lined the cage with it, moving around all of Abel's toys that he'd left at the bottom. "I think he just likes to flatter people when he knows he might be in trouble..cleaning the cage usually means he gets a bath, and he's not to fond of that idea." Kane smiled finishing up and looked back. "Oh ho....looks like the Carpet shark has his eye on an unsuspecting bird eh? Well..." He stepped over to where Risa sat and held his arm next to his bird so that he could put him up for the night. "Let's just get him back to where he belongs before he gets eaten shall we?" He waited....and waited...Abel never moved. "Come on buddy, let's get you back in your cage." "Pretty Risa." Was all he got. "Abel...come on, I'm sure she's tired of holding you anyway, and I don't want any of your mites and things getting off on her." "Risa bird, bird family.." Kane pulled back and scratched his head. "Honestly....I don't know where he gets it....I guess you'll have to do it Risa...he won't come for me." |

"He doesnt like baths? I love them!" i smiled, petting the birds chest, my heart finally settling. I looked to Oreo, her purring only intensifying. "Shes only curious, I dont think shed hurt the bird." I smiled as Abel didnt want to leave my side and I only smiled. "Okay.." I stood slowly and put my arm out to the bird, walking to the side of his cage. "C'mon Abel, we gotta eat then get to sleep." It was getting late, and I'm sure the professor would send his minion soon... My wings ached; they yearned to be untied and stretched out. As soon as I was done here, i would have a nife nightly flight to the mansion. [bwahahah plot thickens... or not XD] |

"Yeah, he kind of freaks out when we get the spraycan." Kane smiled and watched as Risa put Abel back in his cage. He cocked his head, and looked down at Oreo. "Is it just me...or is she a lot prettier when she laughs." A small mew and he nodded. "Yeah?...just me then." Juri popped back out and smiled. "Come on kiddies, dinner's ready!" |

I closed the cage and let out a long breath. "Whew, well, that was an expierence. C'mon." I hurried into the kitchen and plopped down at the table and looked to Kane. "C'mon, before I eat it all!" Misty purred and rubbed against my feet. I smiled and leaned down and pet her. "Hey sweety." [I dont think we'll get to the Mansion tonight, unless you plan to stay on later than 12.] |

Kane laughed and headed right behind her, Juri already at the table, setting out the last plate heaped high with whatever was left from the night before. "I swear, I'm going to have to go shopping again sometime this week...you two are going to eat us out of house and home." She laughed and pulled up her chair. "Oh please, we don't eat half as much as you do Juri." "And yet look who this is coming from...the Human Garbage Disposal." She reached over and smacked Kane's shoulder lightly. "Or maybe I'll send you out with a grocery list instead...yeah...you're not doing anything tomorrow...I'll just go ahead and do that then." Kane sighed. He hated chores...but Juri was right..he really didn't have anything to do tomorrow...so why not? He'd get a little excerise anyway. |
I looked to Kane and started to eat quickly.
"Ill go with you Kane, Itll be fun." I assured him, smiling. I glanced at the clock; 10:38pm. I yawned heavily, I wished my night was over. "Whew i'm exhausted. Im gonna go up and get into my pajamas. I need to let my wings out, theyre starting to hurt from being tied so tightly. Ill be up waiting for you Kane." I quickly washed my plate and walked past him, gliding my hand across his neck as I walked behind him. "Thanks for the meal Juri, i owe you guys a bunch." I headed up the steps. |
He smiled.
"Alright, I'd like the company." "Go on sweetie, you two must have had an exciting day, I'll take care of things down here." Kane nodded, and downed the last of his plate, taking it over to the sink. "Kane..." Juri said quietly. "Hmm? What?" "Oh...it's nothing...just a feeling." "Yeah...those feelings of yours never end up right Juri...that time you had a 'feeling' about my shoe being under the couch...and it turned out to be nothing more than a moldy cracker that Abel dropped....yeah..." She chuckled. "Maybe..." "I'm going to go see about a bath, 'Night." "Night..." She stood and moved the dishes to the sink. "I hope that's how it ends up tonight Kane...I really hope so..." Kane headed upstairs and knocked on his door. "Risa, I'll be in the shower for a bit, if you need anything, holler at Juri okay?" He turned and headed to the bathroom. |
In his room, I quickly untied my wings, standing in only my panties, I stretched out my aching wings. I looked over my shoulder at the door.
"of course, enjoy it." I said. I looked to the floor and rummaged though the black trash bag until I found a long night gown to wear. I slipped into it, pushing my wings though the holes open in the back. A knock at the window. I quirked an eyebrow and headed towards it and slid it open. My eyes widened at seeing Noah sitting in the tree in Kane's yard, right next to his window. "Hello my love. Ready to go?" I panicked and ran to the door and locked it and went to the window. "No, no, I cant leave yet. I have to wait til Kane is asleep, I cant let him know where Im going." He pouted, perching on a branch. "Fine. I'll be on the roof when you need me..." He winked a purple iris to me and flapped silently to the roof. I shut the window and sat on the bed, forgetting the door was locked. |
Kane stretched out in the shower letting the hot water hit his sore body.
"Man...stupid Sano...trying to kill me...." He arched his back like Oreo or Misty might have done and he groaned in enjoyment. "Ah~h!" He turned around and adjusted the temperature when it got too hot. He sighed and squatted in the bottom of the tub letting the water soak him through and through. "Mmmm...." He felt his eyelids dropping... "Mmm..?!" He stood quickly and slapped his cheeks. "Alright, if that's how your going to be..." He shut off the water and dried off, slipping into his shorts and tank that he normally left in the bathroom next to the sink. "I guess that means it's bedtime." He stepped out and moved across the hall to his bedroom. "Risa?" He asked quietly. "Risa, if you're still up, I'm going to be on the couch..no sense in you not using the bed tonight....I'll see you in the morning okay? 'Night." ((And this is my last one as well 'Night!)) |
Relieved he wanted to sleep separately, I quickly shut out the light and yelled back to him.
"Goodnight, I love you sleep well." I slipped into a long white dress, holes in the back already and opened the window and flew out silently, keeping Kanes room locked. "Jeeze, you sure do take long." Noah grunted, flying up beside her. [nighty] |
"Love you too." He smiled and waved sleepily fromt the bottom of the stair.
"Off to sleep so soon?" Juri asked curiously as she smiled from the sink. "Yeah." Kane headed into the kitchen and gave her a quick hug goodnight. "If you had the same kind of excitment that I've had today, you'd be hitting the sack early too." He let out a huge yawn and stretched. "I'm letting Risa have my room tonight, so wake me up first before you send us off with that shopping list of yours, that way I can get in and out of the bathroom before she gets up." "Alright. Goodnight Kane." "'Night Juri." Misty and Oreo had claimed most of the couch for themselves after supper, so Kane gently shooed them out of his way and curled up into a ball allowing them as much room as he could spare. "'Night fuzzies." He reached over for the lamp and chuckled at Abel who seemed to scowl at him. "'Night to you too alright Abe? I'll see you in the morning." "Sqwrak!" "Love you too buddy." He replied sarcastically. |

I looked back to the Shiori household and saw the lights in the living room flick out. I had to have gotten away scot-free. I looked to Noah. "So...youre spliced? With what?" He grinned, doing a flip in mid air. "Yah cant tell?" I quirked an eye at him. He only laughed. "Im a bat." "Oh... so, do you know what the professor wants with me?" She shook his head. "Nah, Im only the messenger, to come and get you... my love." I groaned and rolled my eyes. "Look, just because I have wings too doesnt make us 'meant for one another.' For your information Im already in love with someone." He chuckled. "Yeah, a wingless ignorant human." I stopped in mid-flight and stared him down. "If youre gonna rag on my lover, then I wont go." He shrugged and nodded. "Fine fine, but I will get you to love me in return...I swear it. We would have the most beautiful children..." He kept looking me up and down and I made the gap between us larger as we neared the professors mansion. |

While Risa was flying off with the strange creature, Kane found himself blissfully unaware slipping off into a black land of a dead sleep. He didn't even notice when Juri came up beside him and covered him with a blanket, kissing his forehead gently. "I don't know what I'm going to do with you Kane....honestly...the older you get the more I worry....you scare me now....worse than you did when you were little. I'm scared that I falied you....and that you're going to end up miserable because of it.." She brushed back strands of hair that fell in his face. "You idiot...." She sighed and looked up the stair to the empty room that he'd claimed as his. "At least....there's someone that can make you happy....I'm at least thankful for that." |

I lowered flight towards the professors front step and Noah grabbed my arm. "No, I have a special entrance, c'mon." I followed him to a back balcony and landed gracefully on the balcony. He did a tuck-and-roll and stood up, opening the glass door for me and bowing. "After you, my dear." I sighed and went in, and he followed after, shutting the door quietly. "MASTERR! Were back!" He yelled as we exited the haunting bedroom that was the professors. "Bring her here!" echoed back from down the long hall. I followed in the eerie footsteps of this creature. He was nothing like me really; he was genetically mutated with an animal... I was BORN this way... We entered the dimly lit lab and he smiled at me though his thick glasses. "Please my dear, Id like to run a few more tests and gather more blood; is that alright?" I sighed and nodded. "As long as im not here long. I would like to get some sleep." He showed me to a huge chair, one I sat in before. He didnt lock me in. "Of course, of course, please my dear, have a seat." I did and looked around. Noah sat on the floor, like a cat, and wouldn't get his eyes off me. "So, how do you like my little Noah?" he said as he gathered some empty viles at his desk. "He's ok I guess." Noah licked his hand and ran it over his hair. "He's not as good as you." He simply said, coming back towards me with the 5 viles and needle. "Your arm, my dear." He said, putting the things down on a small table next to the chair. I put out my left and he tied a tight rubber band on my upper arm. He readied the needle. My stomach had butterflies...I hated needles... and my eyes began to swell just thinking about it. He noticed my discomfort and called Noah over. he came obediently and sat at my side and took a hold of my right hand to try to relax me. There was alot of blood to be taken, and he had to be sure I wouldnt pass out. "Now hold still, my dear." he said, inserting the needle into my vein. It all rushed at once and closing my eyes, I lost consciousness. |

Juri stood and headed up the stairs, she paused by Kane's door...that strange feeling of hers gripping her stomach again, but she surpressed it passing it off as nothing more than her imagination. She tried the door, but found it locked so she tapped on it twice. "Goodnight Risa." She whispered. No answer. "Oh.." Oh well, no biggie right? Kane was already passed out on the couch, so why wouldn't Risa be the same? She smiled and went into her own room, ready for a goodnight's sleep herself. She'd wake them all in the morning. |

I slowly opened my eyes and found Noah asleep peacefully beside me in a warm bed. I sat up and looked at the clock on the wall; it was 6:48 am. I squeaked and stood up quickly and almost fell out of bed. I was still dressed from the night before. Noah yawned wide and lay on his side, his hand under his head. His lower half was covered, but he was not clothed; they were on the floor. "Leaving me so soon, sweetheart?" I panicked, slipping on my socks. "I have to go before Kane wakes up." He giggled. "Youre so worried about that human. If I were him, id keep a closer eye on you. Youre a fine trophy." I groaned. "Yeah yeah. Did the professor get everything he wanted done?" He shook his head. "He got the blood, but he still needs x-rays of your wings. He asked me to ask you if you will return tonight?" I groaned and rubbed my eyes. "Fine. Whatever. See you later." "Risa... make sure you keep your neck out of sight of your boyfriend." I widened my eyes and rubbed my neck; it was sore. He winked at me. "See yah tonight." I huffed and flew out the window and headed home quickly. What did he do to me? I am still clothed, and I dont feel different... but mny neck is throbbing. |

Juri heard the alarm, but she groaned and looked over. "What in the hell is my clock going off this early for!?" She grumbled seeing that it was only a little before seven...she was sure that she'd set it for nine. "Mmm....fine, if I'm up, they're all getting up." She rolled off the bed, willing her legs under her...but to no avail, she fell off and landed in the floor with a thud. "Crap..." It took a herculean effort, but she managed to shower, dress, and make her way downstairs to shake Kane awake. He blinked a couple of times before he realized he wasn't asleep. "Come on, time to get up, you got stuff to do today." "Nunnnnggggnnnn..." He said as he rolled up. "Fine...Risa up?" "Nope, I was going to wait till you got your shower, then I was going to wake her up. That's what you wanted right?" "Oh...yeah it was." Sliding out from under the fuzzy balls of fluff that had claimed his legs as fair sleeping space, Kane headed up stairs grabbing a towel out of the closet and stepped into the bathroom. |

I flew as fast as my wings could carry me and landed silently in Kanes window, looking around cautiously, noticing it was just as I left it. I quickly undressed, stuffing the dress into the trash bag on the floor and pulled out a high collared t shirt and long, loose fitting slacks. I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed two puncture wounds on my neck, like a vampire? I growled and I brushed my hair quickly, leaving it down, to help curtain my neck with the collar and opened the door, meeting Kane in the hallway. I was still catching my breath from the rapid flight. I didnt even notice my wings were still sticking out form under my shirt. "Goodmorning sweetheart." I said, smiling nervously. My heart was racing. |
Kane cocked his head.
"Hey Love, what are you doing up so early? It's just now seven." He looked her over. "You okay? You seem tired..." He thought a moment and then smiled. "Ahh, you're wings were cramped yesterday right? You must have went out for a fly...okay." He kissed her cheek gently, and smiled. "I'll be out of the bathroom in a few okay? That is unless you want to take a shower now." Well....no one ever said he was observant when he was half-asleep. ((lol now that I know what he looks like, I've started a new piccy of him and Kane XDDD he looks so sadistic right now XDDD)) |
I smiled at him.
"I didnt sleep too well, and yeah I took a quick flight before the sun came up about 15 minutes ago. My wings are achy from yesterday, yes." I closed my eyes softly as he kissed my cheek and I slid my hand onto his cheek. I then blushed. "Shower? Ill wait until youre done, I dont think it would be appropriate if we went in together when your sister is home." I laughed a bit. Plus I dont need you seeing my new tattoo... "Ill be downstairs, feeding the cats. Just yell down when youre done." |
He smiled and nodded...but stopped as she went by him.
"Wait...what?" He blinked once or twice.... he hadn't meant it that way...but sure, why not... "Alright, I'll let you know." He shrugged and closed the door behind him. Juri was in the kitchen watching a pot of coffee come to a boil when she noticed Risa coming down the stair. "'Morning." She yawned. "Oh, sorry, don't get all the way awake till I've had my coffee. How'd you sleep? Any snakes crawl out from under that trash heap he calls a room?" |
I laughed, sliding a finger under his chin.
"Dont hurt yourself thinking about it too much." I smiled and headed down the steps. "Good morning Juri." I said "No worries,I didn't sleep too well, and i woke up around 6 anyway. I sure hope theres no snakes in there. Id clean his room for him, but I dont know what he calls clean or dirty clothing." I laughed, cracking open the cat food can. Oreo and Misty came rushing in from a dead sleep to place a furry assault on my legs awaiting for me to give them the food. I placed it on the floor after their rush of meows. "Did you sleep ok, Juri?" I asked. |
She smiled.
"I doubt he does either." She chuckled at the cats and leaned against the bar. "Risa......let me ask you something......as far as Kane goes............" She looked over to one side, almost afraid to meet her eyes. "How did I do?...A-As a mother I mean?....." |
I raised my eyebrows at her.
"A mother? I dont think he sees you as a mother. You... i think he sees you as a sister, and I think this how it should be... and youre a fine sister... and friend to me. Dont ever change" I smiled at her, sitting at the bar beside her. "Hey... Juri? Can... you keep a secret? From Kane that is, just between us girls?" It was eating me up inside and I had to tell someone... |
She sighed.
"I know...but...I promised....I promised mom....that I'd make sure he grew up into a fine young man...." She glared up the stairs. "Right now however, he's nothing but a deliqunet." She smiled and ruffled the younger girl's hair. "You're a sweetheart you know that?" She nodded. "Oh dear, I'll see what I can do." She chuckled. |
