I looked to him, my eyebrows lifted. I watched him drop and I stepped to the edge, my eyes wide. He missed a tree branch by inches and he made his way back up. I puffed out my cheeks.
"IM COMING!" i yelled to him, tieing the coat around mt waist and jumping out into the open air and flew up beside him.
"Do you know the way? I can lead if you want"

He hovered a moment, blinking.
"Oh yeah...Hita lead me here...in the dark...." He blushed a little, extending his arm in a makeshift bow.
"If you would be so kind m'lady....the rogue....does NOT know the way." Kane chuckled a little at his own stupidity.

I marveled at how well he could fly and nodded.
"Then I will lead your way. Follow me." I flew on, heading towards the city.

The wind beneath my wings was warm the the sun up high was scolding. I was happy there was a breeze today, so we didn't have to do much flapping, or we would have had to take a rest by now. I looked back to Kane; we had been flying for about 40 minutes now.
"How yah doin' back there? If you need a rest let me know."

He laughed and followed.

Kane's head was dipping, the sun, and the light wind...all of it was so soothing, once or twice he'd caught himself almost slipping off into a doze.
"Nah!" He called after wrenching himself out of his dreamy state.
"I'm alright." He gave a heavy flap to keep himself aloft, and tried to keep his mind occupied...which lasted all of about two minutes...

I giggled.
"Well, about an hour more and we'll be near the city." I yelled back and headed forward.

An hour later, I looked back at him and yelled,
"We should land here, before anyone sees us." I pointed to a grassy area in the park near my old house and began my descent, being sure to stay out of sight.

Kane nodded, all too glad to be heading down now, he folded his wings in slightly and started to head towards where Risa indicated.
He landed...a little less than gracefully, and covered up his blunder, with a few well placed steps.
"Heh..." He said.
"Still working on my landings.."

I landed gracefully, on one knee and stood, untieing the coat form my waist and pulling it over my wings, folding them tightly against my body, and tuckign the tips into my pants. I looked to him and shook my head; he put the hoodie on, but his wings still stuck out form under the hoodie.
"c'mere, I'll help you."

He turned around shifting this way and that...it was a bit uncomfortable, having his wings crammed into such a tight place..but gradually he got used to it.
"How did you do this everyday.." He muttered, shifting around trying to adjust.
"I'm surprised you didn't go crazy..."

I smiled at him and his newbishness.
"I have been doing this since birth, I am quite used to it." I came up behind him and took the tips of his wings and pulled the backside of his pants so there was an opening, and I pushed the wings down into the back of his pants.
"It'll take some time to get used to walking with your wings rubbing...but you'll get used to it" I patted his butt after shoving both inside and stepped back.
"Ready then? Or do you need to practice walking?"

He nodded as she explained everything, jumping a little when she smacked him. He turned with a evil chuckle and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Mmmmm...Nope, don't need practice doing that." He smiled and started off.
"Do you?" They tottered this way and that, his grip the only thing keeping him from falling to either side.

I laughed back and wrapped my arms around his head.
"Well alright then...to you house we go then. I need no practice walking, Im used to this." I stepped out of the brush into the sunlight of the park and blocked the sun with my forearm.
"Its so hot today. The cave is so much cooler..."

"Mmmm..right.." He said against her neck.
"Juri's going to be surprised to see us." He laughed.
He looked up into the sky.
"Errmmm yeah..Juri's sure to have the AC on..even though she knows we don't need it.."

I looked down at him.
"My, aren't you frisky? What possessed you to be this way?" I asked, looking to him in question.
"Hopefully, Juri didn't miss me too much..." I headed towards his home at the end of the street
"I hope the cats are okay... I sure do miss them..." I twiddled my fingers.

He sighed, hugging her tightly before moving to her side, and taking her hand.
"...Just...realizing how much you mean to me.." Came his answer.
"She thinks of you as family now...she's going to miss you." He chuckled.
"If she hasn't turned them into feline flambe' then yes, the ankle stalkers are fine."

I looked over at him and smiled to him, squeezing his hand in mine.
"I feel the same way..." I kissed his cheek quickly as we got to the front gate to his home
I let out a loud squeak.
"DONT EVER say that again...!" I my eyes started to water.
"I..dont know what Id do if my actions lead to them being hurt... theyre my babies..." I looked to him, a deep sadness evident on my face.
"Its your house, after you."

Kane leapt back....what was with the water works all of a sudden?
He smiled nervously, and tried his best to calm her down.
"Relax, Juri's not that heartless...at least not to the cats...Abel...yes, he's more than likely Parrot Stew by now, but Misty and Oreo are fine...I'm sure..." He opened the door almost afraid of seeing them cooked up though...
"KANE!?" Juri's head poked out of the kitchen and she smiled.
"RISA TOO!" She squeed and ran out to hug them both.

"I love my kitties...I miss them. If I didnt live in a dangerous cave, Id bring them too."
I stepped into the familiar house and slipped out of my shoes. I only saw a glimpse of her until Kane and me both were tackled to the floor.
"M-miss us, Juri?" I breathed from under her. I looked to Kane and just smiled. I had never been greeted like this.
I saw Misty and Oreo looking on from each arm of the Lazy Boy across the room. Theyre eyes were huge and wondering. I smiled to them.

"MISS YOU!? MISS YOU!?" Juri yelled in both of their ears.
"OF COURSE I MISSED YOU!! I'M ALL ALONE IN THIS HOUSE NOW WITH JUST THE CATS AND THE SMART-ALECK BIRD!!" Kane pushed his sister off.
"Speaking of Abel..have you stewed him up yet?"
"No...not yet.." She relenquished him just enough so that she could go back to snuggling Risa, and glared into the living room where said bird sat, fat and happy, on his perch.
"Hey buddy.." Kane cooed stroking the parrot's breast feathers.
"Miss me?" He whistled and croaked before hopping up onto Kane's shoulder.
"I'll take that as a 'yes'."

I cringed at her yelling and laughed a little.
"Sorry. I was worried about things and needed to get away..." I looked away as Juri stood up and I satg up, sitting indian style, looking around the same livingroom.
"Didnt Chidori cause trouble?" I said, looking up at her. Oreo plopped down onto the floor,, running past Kane and Abel and into my lap, mewing. Misty just waited for me to come to her, as usual.

"No...Chidori...she...she hasn't said anything.." Juri looked at Kane and he nodded smiling.
She looked between the two of them...how far they'd come..and how far they'd have to go.
"...So....what brings you two back to the city?"
"Groceries....and a few nights in a real bed...right Risa?"

"Thats odd, and not like her, especially if she knows about me, and no Kane..." I sighed and stood up, holding Oreo in my arms.
I looked to Kane then Juri and blushed, nodding.
"And to see you, and my kitties, too." I sat down on the couch and yawned.
"It feels good in here..."

Juri smiled.
"Well it would seem that you two have had a long trip...why don't I make something special tonight?" She smiled, and then turned into the kitchen.
"Stir-fry sound good to you?"
"Fine with me!" Kane called over his shoulder, taking Abel off his perch, and then turning back to Risa.
"Not sleepy are we?" He asked

"Sounds great to me!" I said excitedly, looking to her and smiling wide.
"I miss your home cooking!"
I looked to Kane and shook my head as Oreo jumped off my lap and baxk tot he arm of the chair she was on before.
"Nah, the heat gets to me sometimes, thats all." i glanced at the clock. It was already 4 pm. It took longer than I thought to get back here. Usually its a 45 minute flight when I'm alone, but I flew slower so Kane could keep up. Took about 2 hours to get here. I would be sure ntot to tell him I waited up for him though. I leaned back in the comfy sofa.
"MMmm.."

He smiled.
"Get some rest...you look like you need it..." Kane smiled.
"Surely that flight didn't wear you out did it? I thought you'd be stronger than that."
He chuckled and watched Able fluff.
"Oh shush you..you've got no say in the matter." He tilted his head back to look at his friend, and ran a finger down his head.
"Alright then!" Juri called.
"Three votes Stir-Fry so Stir-Fry it is!" clinking and klanking ensued from the kitchen...and soon the smell of sizzling green peppers and other vegatables were wafting into the living room.
"Alright...who are you and what have you done with my siser?" Kane asked sarcastically.

I smiled and slowly closed my eyes and curled into the arm and cushions of the couch. The smell of the food made my mouth water. But it did not interrupt my soft slumber I would fall into no time later. My soft breathing was comforting, and knowing Kane was near, and I was comfortable and safe was nice, and helped me fall into the deep sleep I needed so desperately.
