Elidion was interested by the ball of fire. "I see. So you're one of the Elementals! Impressive."
He leaned in further as if he had a secret meant only for the child's ears. "Have you heard of the Elites and the Highers?" |
Theodore shook his head a little, his gaze looking at Elidion curiously. "I haven't. What are they?" He asked quietly in return, tucking his blonde-white hair behind an ear as it started to slip loose of his ribbon.
|
"Well," Elidion said, leaning back. "While the Elementals are limited to skills of a certain element...Elites and Highers are of a more superior class, if you will." He enjoyed bragging about his status. Who wouldn't? he thought. It was great being beautiful and powerful! Now if only he could convince Aeros...
"Highers..." he almost spat at the word. "They're wizards. Their focus is the dark arts. They definitely use sacrifices to manipulate the magics. They don't have the natural powers," he scoffed. "Just the time to learn. Which explains why so many of them are old. If I remember right, some even give up their physical form to become...immortal in a sense. "Now Elites. They're the best of the best." He popped up his collar, allowing his cloak to reveal more of his brilliantly tailored clothing with his movements. "You're looking at one. Inborn talents. Ability to acquire limitless powers. Unlike Elementals, we aren't limited to just the forces of nature." Oh, how Elidion loved to talk about himself... |
Theodore listened with intense interest, blinking a few times when the man said he was one himself. He supposed, like Theo, looks were deceiving. He smiled a bit and gave him a curious glance. "Well... what else can you do then? You said other than elements? So... you can do all of the elements and.. more?" He looked genuinely fascinated, like the child he was. He wanted to know anything he could about the world around him--that included Elidion of course.
|
"Well, it depends what we acquire. So each Elite is a unique being. I can transform, possess people, see from distances, manipulate things..." He sighed. Goodness, just talking about himself impressed himself!
"Of course I won't discount how impressive Elementals are. They go through excessive mental training. I can imagine what you've gone through yourself, Theodore!" |
"Men..Mental training? Well, I uh.." Theodore chewed on his lip a moment. "My flames..they only showed themselves a few days ago--Tobias didn't really have time to train me but the one day." And that day... well, training went a little down hill, not that he'd minded. It'd definitely had led to a wonderful night.
"What forms can you change into?" He was curious about that--that would be a rather amusing ability to have. |
Elidion chuckled. "Then you're still a novice," he commented. It was cute! He had to restrain the desire to pinch his adorable cheeks.
"Mmm...anything, really. The sky's the limit when you're this beautiful---gifted," he said quickly to correct himself. |
Theodore couldn't help but laugh at that. Ohh, he was quite full of himself, wasn't he?
"I suppose I am still, however... the two mages I was with in Caer Elise seemed rather impressed." He replied, leaning back now. He did need to find more time to practice now that his control had improved so drastically. |
Elidion stretched. He felt he had said enough to satisfy himself...and the boy. He reached over and patted the child on the head. "Take care, Theo. And good luck on those skills of yours." He rose and eagerly headed upstairs, only to be shoved out by Aeros once he found the room she was in.
Sighing, he loitered outside the door. It was either the hallway or the stables... |
Theodore smiled and lingered down there for a while. He sighed, wondering if he should go out in search for Denzell? He was afraid to go out alone though... that man. Oh... he just couldn't. He looked up to the ceiling a moment before heading back up to his room.
He slowed and binked when he saw Elidion in the hall, pursing his lips a bit. "Elidion? What're you doing out here? Lost?" He asked, chuckling a little as he approached him, passing up his door. He could hear that Sloane was moving around in it. |
"Well, it appears I won't have a room to stay in," he chuckled. "A room opened up early this morning...and my lady won't share with me..." Elidion sighed.
|
Theodore couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Seems your charms are doing the opposite of what you'd like with her, mm?" He teased, waving for him to follow him. "In a little bit, we'll be leaving, when Denzell returns. You can get it after us, I'm sure." He replied, rubbing his neck a little. "Might as well come in with me for now, mm? Don't mind my brother if he glares at you, he's just protective."
|
Elidion chuckled, saying nothing about his own faults in his pursuits for Aeros. "She's just a proper woman, that's all."
He followed Theodore to his room, curious about this fellow who might glare at him. Hopefully his radiant good looks would garner some good will towards him! |
Theodore let him in, walking in first though. Sloane looked up and grunted at seeing yet another man. "Who's this?" That hard gaze looked Elidion over with judgment and suspicion.
"This is Elidion. 'His woman' threw him out and I figure since we're leaving soon, he can just linger here, making sure he gets it after us." Theodore replied, moving to pick the kitten up as he smiled at his brother and after a moment, Sloane nodded in approval after a moment. "Where's Denzell then? We can leave when he gets back." Theodore rubbed his neck a little and sighed. "I'll go look for him I suppose, get to know eachother or something." He chuckled and let Sloane jump to the bed before leaving the other two alone and slipping out, wandering off down the road hesitantly to look for Denzell... perhaps the pub? He headed there, it was a social place, he was sure Denzell would be attracted to it. He walked in quietly, looking around--there. "Ah, Denzell?" He couldn't see who the other man was from behind; he'd already made a friend? Maybe he should jsut let him stay here... |
Elidion chuckled and offered a hand out to Sloane. "The name is Elidion."
Denzell downed a mug before looking to spot the pale Theodore. He shouted out to him. "Theo! Over here! Come eat this," he offered, waving one of the appetizers in the air. He had consumed a hefty sum with the man staring, partially in awe, partially in disgust. |
"...I'm Sloane." He took his hand to shake it firmly with a sigh. He wasn't exactly open--he wanted to get Theodore home and jsut stay there, things weren't going his way at all however.
Theodore approached them, raising a brow at the food. He did try one though, laughing a bit. Denzell was rather strange indeed, but he supposed it was a long time since he'd had food like this--he hoped his friend was paying! He looked curiously to the friend Denzell had made and gasped, stumbling back a little. "Y-You--!" He grabbed a pitcher of ice water nearby and threw it on the man--the man who'd raped him and taken his eye. |
Elidion shook the elder brother's hand. "It's a pleasure. Your little brother's an interesting kid."
Denzell was surprised by Theodore's reaction toward this fellow. He rose. "What's wrong, Theo? Do you know this man?" |
"He is indeed." Sloane eyed him a moment more before sitting on the window sill, crossing his arms. "Where are you headed?" He wasn't much of a conversationalist.
"Yes! He raped and mutilated me last time I was here!!" Theo snapped, holding the pitcher still, ready to hit the man if he had to. He could feel the tears burn at his eyes as he remembered what had happened--the pain of it all. So much pain. |
Elidion leaned against the wall, a foot propped up against it. "Verboten Eau," he said, as usual, trying to get attention and interest.
Denzell had gone pale for a moment. He coughed on the bit he was consuming. Quickly, he rose and threw a punch at Theodore's assailant. It was a weak blow, but one nevertheless. |
Sloane nodded a little and glanced out the window a moment. He was harder to woo than Theodore was, he wasn't interested in the world--he liked his home and the fields.
Theodore gasped as Denzell hit the man, stepping back a little. Unfortunately, Theo could probably hit harder than Denzell! It hardly affected the man. The man grunted and slugged him right back. "Damn freak, what the hell?" He started for Theodore, who struck him with the pitcher, breaking it on his head, but he was grabbed anyhow. "Let me GO!" He didn't want to use his flames yet--he didn't want to kill someone in front of all these people--with magic at that. |
Denzell grasped at the man's shirt and pulled at him. All the time he spent in the dungeon had made him so weak. But a reflex revealed itself - a quick strike to the man's nerve on his neck - and brought the assailant down with his hands still pulling on Theodore.
Looking at his hands with a puzzled expression, Denzell was baffled. What made him do such a thing all of a sudden? |
Theodore gasped as the man went down, tumbling down with him. He struggled out of his hold, stumbling to Denzell again, grasping softly at him to keep from falling right back over. "D-Denzell... What'd you do? Are.. are you sure you were just a black smith?" He asked, trembling from the shock he'd had being grabbed by the rapist again. He was just hoping he'd be done for a while now.
|
Denzell held him, providing him the comforts of a hug. "I think so..." he said. "I just don't remember!" Hastily, he guided the boy out.
"Let's get out of here...I don't know what that guy may do next if he awakens!" |
THeodore gasped at the hug, a little surprised by it, he hadn't expected the comfort from Denzell, making him blush a little. Nodding, Theo ran out with him, still grasping at him slightly, sliding his hand down to grab Denzell's hand as they headed down the road toward the inn again.
|
Denzell panted as he hurled himself up the stairs with Theodore. He was frightened by the exchange at the pub and didn't want to be there any longer. What frightened him greatly was what he did to the man. He lacked any explanation for it!
"Sloane," he panted, meaning the kitten, whom he wanted to pet for comfort. |
