Tobias smiled, glad to see that smile on his face. He reached up and touched his cheek.
From outside came an uproar. He turned his head towards the door, hearing a struggle and things being thrown against the wall and such. "What...is going on?" |
"I-I don't know.. I'll go look." He stated softly, starting to crawl off of the man and head for the door, pulling the door open a bit to peer out.
"What's going on out here?" He asked softly, peering out cautiously at the startling ruckus, searching for the source of it all. |
Denzell was pressed against the wall, his hands clasped on Deodar's grasp on his neck, trying to pry them off for air. He gasped quickly, sucking in as much air as possible. "Let...me go!"
Deodar firmed the wooden wall behind him before he slammed the man against it again, watching blood spill. The former prisoner was turning blue from lack of air. |
Theodore's eyes widened and he quickly stepped out of the room, leaving the door ajar. "What're you doing?!" He rushed out and tried to pull Deodar off of Denzell, attempting to get between them. "Stop it! He can't breathe, let him go!"

"Move aside, child!" Deodar barked, not relenting his hold on Denzell. He was adamant about ending the man's life right then and there. Blood began to spill down the wall and Denzell's hands strength weakened as he began to pass out.

Theodore didn't give up, trying to pry the man's hands from Denzell's neck. "Let him go! Stop it!" He yelled, fisting a hand and slugging Deodar right in the jaw with all of his might. "I said let him go!!" He was reluctant to use his flames against a mage, there had to be some reason they were fighting, what had happened?

Deodar had to stop his assault to deal with the gnat that hampered his plans of killing Denzell with his bare hands.
"I said to get away, child! This is none of your affairs! Dare you side with a snake riddled with treachery?" |
"This is of my affairs! Denzell is my friend, now stop it!" He yelled, shoving Deodar away as hard as he could, trying so hard to protect his friend. "What's he done, anyway?! He's got to be one of the kindest people I've ever met, so WHY?!"

"You sided with an assassin out to get our lord's life? For shame, Theodore! Begone. This is our business, not a child's game!" Deodar waved for the guards to take the fallen Denzell.

"Wh-what?" THeodore looked shocked but he still tried to keep Denzell safe. "Why does it matter anymore?! You had him locked up so long, he hardly even remembers who he was before." He cried, assuming Deodar spoke of the past; he didn't want to lose his friend--he'd just lost his brother!

Tobias stepped out of his room. "Just lock him up, Deo," he said, looking at the fallen Denzell. "We'll discuss this further."
The guards watched the two mages, awaiting information on their next move. The greater mage asked for the prisoner to be taken to the room he was lodged in and watched over. They complied, dragging him off, leaving behind a trail of red. |
Theodore looked at Tobias when he heard his voice, settling down when Tobias gave the final word. He winced as he held his cheek over the stitches; yelling had strained them, making him bleed just a little from the corner of his mouth. He leaned against the wall, looking down as they took his friend away.

Tobias touched Theodore's head. "Explain to me how you met that man...and what you're doing with him..."

Theodore looked up a bit, swallowing slowly. "I... he--uh..." He was hesitant to say, he should have known that breaking Denzell out with him would bite him in the arse some day.
"The.. They day you left, I was locked up and I m-met Denzell in there..." He trailed off, looking down again. "I-I was still mad... so I took him out with me when I got myself out..." |
Tobias frowned.
"It's true...he is an assassin. A dangerous one. It took a lot of magic and a spell to distort his mind to take him down." He exhaled deeply. "He may look harmless thanks to his condition...but...watch out for yourself. I don't want him turning on you. He's already someone who'll be paid to kill the next king, so he has no alliances with anything but the coin." |
"I... I understand." He whispered, frowning to himself a bit as he kept his gaze down. He still hoped Denzell would be okay--he'd protected him, he just didn't see him killing anyone, but he supposed that would explain his reflexes earlier.
"What.. will happen to him now?" He asked meekly, his gaze finally returning up to look at Tobias curiously. |
Tobias leaned against the opposite wall. "We'll see..." he said, slightly distantly. "Depending on the duration and extent of his mind distortion, we may just send him off. If he still proves a threat..." He knew Theodore would not want to hear this. He dropped it immediately.

Theodore understood, despite the fact that Tobias did not finish what he was saying, wrapping his arms around himself. "I.. I understand." He choked out, slowly looking up at Tobias across from him.

Tobias crossed the distance between them and held him. "Don't cry, Theo...it's not fitting for you," he said softly.

Theodore melted into Toby's embrace, wrapping his arms around the man now and resting his head against his chest. Tobias knew how to cheer him up, just that hold being enough to calm him down. The boy gently pulled Tobias into a soft kiss, sliding his arms up around the man's neck. He wanted his intimate affection, sighing out softly against his lips. "I'll try not to."

The mage smiled in return, the kiss warm on his lips. "Good. Would you like to lay down some more?"
*** Aviar felt over the bird's beak. "This is not fitting for you...I suppose a fire consumes much, destroying lands...but doesn't devastate forever. Life grows from the blackened land. But was that really the right course? Is this really what you want?" The falcon accepted the shreds of meat the prince offered as he stayed perched on his gloved arm. ((Sex? xD JUST KIDDING!)) |
((xD LOL Not that Theodore would mind 8D I'm sure he'd be quite thrilled if Toby had his way with him again hahah xD))
Theodore nodded slowly, giving a small smile before he looked around. "Oh.. Where's little Sloane? Denzell.. he had him." Of course, little Sloane had wandered to find Aidan, sensing his 'playmate' nearby, mewling up at Aviar and the falcon. |
Tobias glances around for the furry friend, unsure of his whereabouts.
*** The falcon glanced over at the kitten just as it hurled its tiny body against him, forcing him to fall upon the ground in a mass of feathers. Aviar blinked before laughing at the sight. |
THeodore looked around a little and sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well... I'm sure he's fine, right? This is where he came from anyway. He's probably found a mouse to play with." He didn't want to worry about him, he was sure the furball was fine. "Let's... laydown, kay?" He smiled softly at Tobias, taking his hand softly in his own to go back to bed. Maybe they could pick up where they'd left off before.
+++ The fur ball gave a happy quip as he pawed at Aidan's feathers and rolled around with the bird. He'd missed him, purring loudly to show his content in finding his feathery companion once again. |
Motivated to pull the boy upon him playfully, Tobias hesitated, knowing very well there was blood spilling from his wounds. He wiped them away gently and lay him down with him. An arm wrapped around him again.
*** Aviar watched the two animals interact before leaning back in his chair, sighing. Aidan still had to be in there. Somewhere. ((x_x What...what should we do? :<)) |
