Theodore slipped into a comatose state shortly after arriving in the infirmary, and it was amazing he was holding on at all.

It was nearly three months gone by before Theodore woke again, groggy. Over the time, he had seemed to change, still pale like his people, but his hair had grown out and his hair had turned to a fine shade of strawberry blond, shimmering with reds and orange like a fire when the light hit it.

As his eyes opened, it became apparent that they no longer seemed to be that blue colour, but they were green, with a blue shimmer to them in the right lighting. His face was still freckled, and he was still scarred--he still looked like Theo, but he was just differently coloured in a few aspects.

"Mngh..." He was all healed, slowly sitting up to look around, gasping as red strands of hair fell into his face, fingers touching them in a slight panic.

Danny had visited Theodore often, coming over to poke him. He was told that he was in a deep sleep, so he hoped his consistent physical harassments would jostle him up. It took Danielle, fearful of him hurting Theodore, to carry him away.

Today, he had hopped in, looking with surprise to see Theodore sitting up in his bed.

"Hi."

Theodore blinked a few times, his fingers pushing his new hair back as he looked at the boy, smiling at the child. "Danny..." He smiled even more and patted the bed for him to climb onto the bed with him.

The boy climbed on and did his ritual poke.

"Woke you up."

Theodore laughed, smiling as he shifted to bring Danny into a hug. "Yep.. Mm..." He wondered how long he'd been out. Looking out the window, he could tell that the season had changed... He must have been out for months.

The last thing he remembered was thinking about how he'd never see Danny, Danielle, Arturo or even Aidan when he was fighting the Tribal Leader. He'd been so scared.

Now that he was closer, the boy reached up to grab at Theodore's hair. He had found it curious how it had changed colors like the leaves at autumn.

"It red."

Aidan walked in, hearing a voice accompanying Danny's pitchy one. "Theodore...is that you?"

Theodore smiled still at Danny as the boy took hold of his red hair. "Mmhmm, I suppose it is." He replied with a chuckle, turning his eyes towards Aidan as he came in, blinking a few times.

"Yes... How long was I out, Aidan?"

"Three months...you really worried us." The youth moved to have a seat at the chair beside the bed. "How are you feeling? The doctors said you've healed well."

"I'm sorry." Theodore replied, reaching with one hand to gently rub Aidan's knee. "I'm feeling fine. I feel like nothing ever even happened." He said, looking him over a bit.

Aidan nodded. "Good, good. No need to apologize. We're so relieved to know you're okay.

"I'll bet you're hungry...what would you like to eat?"

"Hmm... Just some fruit." He wasn't all that hungry really, but that probably had to do with all of the training he'd had over the short years. Perhaps his appetite would return the longer he was awake.

Aidan stepped out to request from servants what Theodore had asked for. He would've gotten it himself, but the servants were babying him. They were so sure that he was incapable of judging what he was doing or grabbing. He just smiled and allowed them to believe what they wanted.

Danny poked Theodore again. "Play?"

Theodore smiled as he looked at Danny again, chuckling. "And just what would you like to play?" He asked as he lifted the child up into the air above him, looking up at him with a warm smile.

Danny laughed. "Fly." He flapped his hands some, quite excited to be held up.

Aidan returned with what the servants had handed to him. They were all cut to make it easier for Theodore to consume.

Theodore sat Danny back down on the bed after a moment when Aidan brought the food in, chuckling at seeing that they were all cut up, but he didn't complain, simply taking it from him and eating, letting Danny take some as well should he want to.

"Thank you, Aidan."

Aidan resumed sitting, nodding at Theodore's thanks.

Reaching at the fruits with both hands, Danny plucked out his favorite fruits. There were some he would absolutely refuse to touch. He didn't mind playing with others he wouldn't eat, but despite how much Danielle would try to get him to try it, she would fail every time.

Theodore smiled as he watched Danny, chuckling when he played with something and let it be, raising a brow a bit. "Now, Danny... If you touch it, you have to eat it." He said with a chuckle again, picking up the one he'd been playing with to put it against his lips. "C'mon." He persuaded him as best as he could, trying to avoid bribing the child.

"No!" Danny shook his head, quite resistant to the idea of eating something like that.

"No no no!"

"What is that?" Aidan asked, curious what Danny refused to try.

"Just a little melon" He replied with a chuckle, popping it into the boy's mouth as he was exclaiming 'no', taking advantage of it being open each time and using his speed to sneak it past those lips.

The boy spat it out immediately and pouted in response. He slapped at Theodore's hand, exclaiming a "bad!"

"Ah, don't do that, Danny," Aidan scolded softly.

Theodore chuckled and ruffled the child's hair gently before he began eating again, getting up when he was finished so he could get dressed and look for Danielle and Arturo, lifting Danny up with him. "Let's go see everyone else, Danny. Aidan, do you know where Arturo and Danielle are?"

Aidan informed him that Arturo was in the training grounds with younger children with the abilities. Danielle was most likely working. Danny had wandered off, bored of watching her do her chores.

Theodore smiled and headed back for the training grounds to find Arturo, carrying Danny so the boy wouldn't fuss with him for leaving him behind. He didn't say anything as he approached the group, setting Danny down carefully, smiling gently at Arturo.

Danny made a loud, animalistic noise to draw attention to himself once he was set down. The training students giggled at how silly he was. Arturo looked over and smiled brightly, heading over.

"Theodore? You're up, I see!"

Theodore smiled and when Arturo came over, he hugged him with a sigh. "You could have arrived a little sooner." He replied with a teasing chuckle, hugging the man tight. "What day is it? Seems like it's the right season for my birthday." He mused softly as he pulled back, brushing some of those red locks from his face.
