"Oh..." He flushed some. "I suppose we can...get..." He stammered at the attempt of suggesting the pot for where all the proper women relieved themselves. Things were just so odd...discussing with a girl Theodore now. Arturo rose and escorted her away, leaving Denzell to continue eating. |
Emma walked with Arturo quickly, tugging her shirt down with a soft blush. This was so embarrassing! It took her a moment to figure out how to relieve herself as a woman once she was in the right place, still blushing when she was finished and all ready to go back to join Denzell again.
|
"Let's buy you another dress before we go, okay?" Arturo offered, looking at her, betting she was uncomfortable walking around in a men's shirt. |
Emma smiled a little and nodded. "O-okay." That sounded like a wonderful idea... though she would have lived with wearing the dirty one for a while longer until she could go wash it again.
She sat down to finish eating her breakfast before they'd go to find a new dress for her, eating a little quicker now so they could leave sooner. |
Denzell stared at his empty plate, his lip pouting some. He would wait until Emma was done to see if there were any scraps to pick up. |
Emma had some bread left that she immediately placed on Denzell's plate since she knew he would probably eat it, glancing at Arturo. "I'm ready to go find one whenever you are." She said gently, smiling a bit. It might be better to let Denzell stay in the tavern or something rather than coming with them--he'd started acting up in the market... maybe it was something there?
|
Denzell promptly ate the bread once it was placed upon his plate. Arturo rose from his seat. "Alright, lets go get you one." He paid for their meals, moved his arm around her shoulders and walked out with her. He assumed the former prisoner was fine and could take care of himself. |
Emma walked with him, looping her arm slowly behind his back, leaning her head into his body gently. She smiled, a little more content being held close again in a gentle, familiar hold.
"I... I don't know what to get... will you help me choose?" |
"Well..." He didn't want to admit he had bought quite the number of dresses for ladies he was fond of. So he had some experience in purchasing them. "I think green would look nice," he said, lazily touching her fiery hair. |
"Green? Alright." She seemed to smile even more as she felt those fingers toy with some of her hair. Emma was soothed by the gentle touch, it was so nice.
|
At one of the shops where he had purchased some outfits for Danielle, he picked around, finding some dresses for Emma. A smile crossed his face. He was so confident she'd look lovely in them. |
Emma smiled as she looked around a little, though she stayed very close to Arturo for safety, blinking when she realized he'd found some dresses, smiling more and blushing faintly. "O-oh my... you've already found some?"
|
"Of course." He paid for them and offered the two to the girl. "We can go back to the inn so you can change." |
Emma smiled still and blushed gently as she held the dresses, looking them over a moment. They were very nice--she hadn't expected more than one! She nodded and headed back to the inn with him so she could get changed into one of them and pack the other away, packing the dirty one separately so it wouldn't get the other things muddy.
|
Arturo waited for her. Once she was done, he packed up his belongings and went with her to get Denzell ready to travel out. "We're headed east, ladies," he said in a joking manner. "To Ilaine we go!" |
Emma smiled even more, excited to go somewhere new. Perhaps her luck would be better in the next place! "What's Ilaine like, Arturo?" She asked as everyone mounted--mounting like a man would yet again. She didn't even want to try to sit side saddle this time, she probably wouldn't be able to balance like last time and fall right off!
|
Denzell held Sloane once he was upon his mount. He glanced back at Jordahn as they began to leave it, his eyes still cold. He had no explanations for his change in temperment since entering the city. Arturo began describing Ilaine. "It's a city situated in the middle of a valley. It's quite famous for one of its festivals. If we stay two days there, we'll get to entertain ourselves with it. "I've...forgotten what it was that they celebrate. We'll find out, shall we?" |
"Really? That sounds wonderful!" Emma smiled as they headed off, glad to be heading away from that place. She would love to see a festival! She'd never been to one... only heard of the fun things you could do at them and longed to as a child, but they never had the money to travel to a town or city that would be large enough to hold one.
She watched Denzell a bit to see how he was doing, waiting for that look to leave him... She longed for the old Denzell to return. This cold man was nothing like the Denzell she enjoyed to spend time with. |
Arturo was glad to see Emma smiling and excited again. Perhaps later she would open up on what had happened back at Jordahn. "Just need to ride for a couple of hours, and we'll be there," he said with a nod. |
Emma was glad it wasn't very long of a ride there, taking in the surrounding area as they rode, playing with some of her hair with one hand. SHe wasn't sure if she'd ever want to talk about what had happened the previous night... She just hoped she wasn't pregnant from it! She wasn't sure what she would do if she became pregnant from some strange man... If she ever did have a child--which she really had little plans at this point of ever doing so; she wanted it to be with someone dear to her.
|
Denzell began to ease down some the further they got from Jordahn. He was still disturbed by the feeling of the place, but it was gradually getting shoved further back into his mind. Sloane's purrs became prominent in his consciousness. A smile crept upon his lips as his fingers pet the little beast. |
Emma sighed with relief when Denzell finally smiled. She was so happy to see the old him returning, and it seemed Sloane was even happier to see him coming back as well. "Denzell?" She called softly, hoping for a better response.
|
"Hm?" The man looked over at her. "What is it?" The pleasant expression stayed. |
Emma smiled even more, giggling a bit. "It's nothing. How are you feeling?" She asked gently, giving anothe giggle. "I missed you last night."
|
"M'alright," he chirped. "I would have looked for you...but I was tired." He pouted some apologetically. *** The decor for the Festival of Silver Knights was already up at Ilaine. Streamers blew in the wind, waving their metallic hue into the blue skies. The townspeople were moving about quickly to handle the upcoming crowds. Businesses were tidied. The best of wares were being brought out for display and for purchase. The children involved in the rituals for the event were practicing their acts in the streets while being herded about by their guardians. Music livened the streets. The group entered, absorbing some of the jovial atmosphere. Arturo was curious what the motivation behind the event was exactly. |
