Charlie watched Nicole go, a curious expression flittering across her face, her finger ceased their play across her pendant and simply held the gold lion head. Suddenly the air around Marina soared in temperature. Becoming so hot that the students at either side of her moved in astonishment.

Charlie was not known for using her powers on other students. As far as the student body was concerned her powers were limited to her body only. This had led to a fair ammount of mocking on her first day.

The air had become barely breathable in only a matter of seconds and now remained at that temperature.

Marcus gave a look of astonisshment as the heat reached his desk, caught off guard his eyes searched angrily around the room, but knew of no one who was capable of using such a force on others.

Up front the teacher hesitated, noting the confusion but unable to feel the heat herself.

Marina let out a gasp as the temperature got hotter, very quickly. At first the thought crossed her mind that it was her own powers acting up, but then she remembered that she couldn't control temperatures, only create and manipulate fire.
Marina slowly stood up. Her breathing came in slowly spurts, but she said, "Whoever's doing this...You're dead."

Charlie didn't even look up, the temperature only increased. Only now it was inside her as well as in the air around her. The heat in her body slowly began to build up. "Marina? is everything allright?" The teacher asked hesitantly.

Marcus' chair fell back to four legs with a sudden clutter as he stood up, reaching over to...what? Help her? He withdrew his hand before it even made it onto Marinas skin "Shit!" He cursed. "Cut it out!" He yelled "Before you do some damage!" The words weren't directed at anyone in particular, more to the entire room.

Charlie stood up "I'm going to see if nicole is allright." And she made her way out of the classroom, everyones attention focused on marina. Charlie paused at the door, looked directly at Marina and smiled. The heat vanished suddenly. her body and the air around her returning to normal temperature in a heartbeat. Then Charlie left the room.

"Nicole?" She called quietly as the door closed behind her.

Marina had nearly passed out from the lack of breath, and for a moment her and Charlie's eyes met. She knew right when Charlie left that it was her doing. "I'm fine," She said to the teacher, trying to catch her breath. "At least...I will be."

Nicole looked up when Charlie left the classroom. She herself hadn't moved from where she had sat down, not really knowing where to go. "Hey, Charlie," She said, looking up at her. "I'm sorry for leaving class, Marina's really intimidating, I could feel her staring at me during class. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I decided to leave," She said, frowning.

"I have a feeling Marinas attention will be directed elsewhere from now on." She replied, releasing her pendant and holding her hand out to Nicole. "Come on, let's go for some air." She offered. "Don't let her get to you."

Marcus nodded, sitting back down. "You sure? That was pretty hot." He muttered. "That new girl packs a powerful punch heh?" He still had no clue that it wasn't Nicole, and the idea of dreamy Sha'uri actually having powers over another student, let alone the will to use them? It was beyond his realm of thinking.

"It wasn't Nicole," Marina hissed quietly as the teacher started talking again, oblivious to the whole situation. "It was that freak who just left the room after Nicole."

Nicole stood up and followed charlie, "What do you mean that her attention'll be directed elsewhere?" She asked as they walked, making their way to the front door. She pushed the door open and sighed as a warm, yet slightly cool day greeted her.

"Sha'uri?" He laughed and shook his head "Yeah, right. She can't even use her power on other people." He muttered, not even slightly convinced. "Don't you think we'd have seen her slip up by now if she could? She's been here since like a week after she learnt she had them. That kinda thing would show itself by now." He leant back against the wall.

Charlie shrugged "Let's just say things got a bit...heated after you left." She winked and headed down the corridor towards the outside doors.

Marina folded her arms, giving her head a slight shake. "It was her," She muttered firmly. "You didn't see the way she looked at me when she left the room. It was so obvious it was her. Didn't you see how the temperature got back to normal when she left the room?"

Marina massaged her temples, "Look, are you going to help me get her back, or not? If you still don't believe me, then come with me after class, we're going to break into the student files, I'll prove to you it was her," She said.

Nicole's eyes widened at Charlie's statement. "You used her powers on her?" Asked Nicole in disbelief, "Are you serious? Oh my, you shouldn't have! I mean, you could get into so much trouble, not to mention she'll probably try and get back at you...Ugh, but I think it's awesome you'd do that for me!"

"The temperature returned to normal before she left. It could have been anyone, and I fail to see how your power would get back at her. If it was her fire will have very little effect." He replied absently. His gaze reverting to his book "But sure, I'm in."

Charlie shrugged "Sekhmet is a warrior sun goddess, as a vessel for her powers so too must I be." She replied simply "That means using her powers in a way she would approve. Besides, I doubt anyone would believe that I had used my powers here, and even if I do get in trouble, I don't actually need this school. I'm here only because it was easier than resisting." She stepped out into the fresh air.

"And let her get back at me. She almost fainted when I gave her a small warning. Just imagine the results if I went out of control on her." She smiled sweetly and looked out over the school grounds.

"Who said anything about me using my powers to get back at her?" Marina asked. "There are plenty of ways to get back at her. Humiliation is one of them," She stated, unfolding her arms and drumming lightly on her desk.

Nicole laughed, "Yeah, You're right. You'd probably own her in an actual fight. What are her powers, anyway? Are they really what she makes them sound like," Asked Nicole, scratching the back of her head.

He shook his head. "Whatever." He wasn't interested in petty revenge plots. That was beneath him, especially as his money would be on Sha'uri should Marina ever actually take her on. She wasn't the type of person who embarressed easily, let alone humiliated. He sighed and closed his eyes. No, he had another agenda, Marina was just a tool.

She shrugged "Fire or some other such." She replied "Which is virtually useless on me. Not that she'll likely try it. She'll more than likely try some sneaky backstabbing method." She laughed. "Don't worry about her. I grew up in boarding schools. I can handle her."

Marina layed back in her chair and sighed, ready for class to be over so she could break into the student records and prove to Marcus it was Charlie who had made everything hot.

Nicole sighed, "Okay, I trust you can handle things. I'll admit I'm a little worried about how this will all turn out, but I trust your judgement, you've been here longer than me," She said, leaning against the wall of the school.
What class've we got next?" She asked after a few moments of silence.

Charlie laughed "Science. Go get your schedual and keep it on you ok?" She advised. "I'm going back in for the end of class." She really shouldn't have walked out like that, but she had been concerned.

Nicole nodded as she entered the the school and she and Charlie went their seperate ways. she headed upstairs and went to the room, grabbed her schedule and looked it over before tucking it in her pocket. It was Science, then P.E, then lunch.

She figured she would head on over to the science classroom, as English would be over by the time she got there.

Charlie had re-entered the class and breathed an appology to the teacher, explaining that Nicole would be fine and that they would make up the work if they needed to, before re-taking her seat.

Marcus didn't even bother to look up. He wasn't really interested in the school life around this school. He was only really here because he was forced into it.

Nicole reached the science room just as the bell rang signaling class was over. There was a few minutes in between classes, so Nicole decided to just stand outside the classroom to wait for Charlie to get there. No sense in going in alone.

Marina stood up right when the bell rang and turned to Marcus as everyone else stood up. "Well, are you coming with me or not to prove that it was Charlie who made everything hot and shit?" She whispered, casting a glance in Charlie's direction.

Charlie didn't even look over at the duo as she headed out of the classroom. She was in no rush to get anywhere, simply walked along as though in some kind of trance. Who knew? It was entirely possable that she was in a trance, very few would mark it off as unlikely.

Marcus stood up andheaded out of the classroom, "I said I was in didn't I?" He drawled. He hated having to repeat himself. Stupid school! Every day he found that he had to repeat one thing or another. It was infuriating. The things he had to endure for the sake of...A smile. The results would be worth it.

Marina shot him a glare from behind, mouthing a string of curses as she, too, left the classroom. She followed behind him until they were well away from the rest of the students. They both headed down an empty hall before coming to a stop in front of a door marked 'records'. She tried the door, and of course, it was locked. She hadn't expected it to be so easy.

Marina put her hand on the door knob and after several seconds, it began turning a bright red, before melting off. She then pushed the door open.
As Marina walked in, she flipped the lightswitch to the left of the door and the light flickered on, illuminating the medium sized room. Shelves with folders, some thick, some smaller than others, lined the wall. All in alphabetical order.

"Well, let's get cracking," She muttered, heading over to the shelf marked 'C'.

Marcus sighed. "So what's her real, full name?" He asked, hooking his thumbs in his pockets. "Schools, hospitals and police all list people by family name then first name so brothers and sisters are in the same drawers." He added absently.

Marina stopped upon realizing that she didn't know Charlie's full name. "Shit," She muttered. "Well, this sets us back a bit," She said, turning to Marcus. "I have no idea what her full name is. I'm not a mind reader."

She sighed, trying to think back to remember if she'd ever heard the girls full name. No instances came to mind. "I honestly have no idea."

"I love how you're proving to me that she did it." He muttered sarcastically. "We'll have to look through them all and hope we get lucky then. Because I bet her first name is actually Charlie. She certainly doesn't look like she's from a family that would name their daughter Charlie. Does she?"

He sighed and opened the first drawer he came to. The A's. This actually worked out great for him, not that he'd let it show. His fingers skimmed expertly over the folders, opening each one as he did so and glancing at the information contained within.

"Get over yourself," Marina shot back, rolling her eyes. "You'll have the proof, just give it time. I don't get why you don't believe me in the first place when it's so glaringly obvious that it was her."

She continued looking through the C's, growing more impatient by the minute.

He shook his head, pulling out a folder. Oh how he hated this school. Scanning the contents he smiled. Replacing the folder and continuing his search. Every so often pulling out a file and sifting through its contents and replacing them. After he'd finished with the A's he moved on.

He chose to ignore Marina, Something he didn't really care about wasn't going to make him get into an argument and risk loosing this game. Yes, that's how he thought of his plans, games, and all the people he stepped on while playing were nothing more than pawns.

Marina sighed as she finished up the C's and moved on to the D's as Marcus did the B's. "This is so gonna take a while," She muttered.

Nicole looked up as several students started entering the science class. Moments later, the bell rang and she too entered the class. She stood around, waiting for Charlie so they could sit next to eachother.

Charlie was one of the last to arrive "Hey." She greeted with a smile. Motioning to a pair of seats, as in the last class, one of them was beside a window. "Feeling better?" She asked brightly as she headed towards her seat.

Marcus sighed "I'm off to class." he told her as the bell rang. "Next time you have a crazy idea, make sure you know the name you're looking for." He told her heading out of the records room.
