Eleven frowned deeply as she walked, shaking her head. Her brother was doing well he had written just yesterday. He was about to get a Muse, in a special ceremony today. Today the King would gift his knight with a Muse that would grant her brother more power.
It still seemed unfair to her in a way. The way those Muses were treated as Tools. Were they not living brings? They just happened to be magical, just happened to be able to share their powers with people. But did they not have a heart and mind? hey were treated like slaves, and her brother seemed proud of the fact he was getting one. Did it not cross his mind this was all wrong? No... her brother was a loyal supporter of the king. She was dressed in her finest dress today, an ice blue attire with gloves and slippers to match. Her hair was done in a neat bow, everything perfect and proper. The ceremony would begin shortly, after all. But she had snuck out for a few minutes outside of the castle to gather herself, frowning deeply. She should be happy for him. Yet... she could not. It just struck her as all wrong. All so terribly wrong. Her light blue eyes reflected that unease she felt, as she ran a hand across her blond hair. She had to find a smile and a kind word for him somewhere however, he had worked so hard for this day... |
Yume walked through the city. Many people were going for the ceremony now but she had no desire to see some huffed up men forcefully getting a muse so they could shed more blood. She was disgusted.
The streets were almost deserted, everyone was watching the ceremony. She saw all these people in fancy dresses. Well she liked that there were so little people now, she liked to be alone, the quiet of the streets as if she were the only human alive |
She needed a walk Eleven decided. She needed to take a walk to clear her mind. She wanted to wish her brother well... she really did. And so she started to walk, her path abnormally clear for once.
"I see I'm not the only person to avoid the festivities," she said quietly, as she came up to one such lady upon the streets. She bowed a slight. "Terribly sorry to interrupt I just... I'm ill at ease. Not that this is your problem but... this whole situation, this whole day...." She frowned deeply, shaking her head. "It isn't right..." About then, from seemingly out of nowhere, a pair of small creatures came out of some nearby bushes, shackles upon their paws and broken chains attached. Each running straight for the girls... Muses. Somehow free Muses! ((Ill let you describe the muse that heads to Yume and what powers it has :3)) |
Yume bowed back politely to the stranger as she saw them. Two stray muses, looking as if they've only just escaped from the torment of the King. one of them, a tiny creature with the body of a young woman went straight toward her "Wha."she couldn't even say the first word when she felt a warmth entering her body as the muse fused with her.

Before Eleven had a chance to even say another word one of the muses leapt straight for her chest. It was muse that looked like s small quadroped, with wings of many colors and eyes to match, with a long flowing tail. Before she could catch it, the small creature vanished inside of her. She could feel its warmth, its energy... its voice.
'You'll hide me right?' it asked, and she could feel it's fear. 'Please?' Eleven blinked, looking towards her companion in the streets. "This... this cannot be good..." she said quietly, feeling the muse's warmth still within her. "If the King finds out... well I'm not sure how an Extraction works but I am betting it is unpleasant..." she whispered, glancing back towards the castle. Her family, her brother was inside. Was one of these muses supposed to have been his she wondered? ((That's fine!)) |
"to be honest it's not the Extraction that worries me, it's out fate afterwards" Yume said softly. Suddenly she felt a leap of fear, fear that wasn't hers. "I don't think theres much we can do now, as i feel nothing for betraying these poor creatures to their death"she shivered at the thought of what He would do to them
"I think we're in this together now" she said to the stranger who was just like her at the wrong place at the wrong time |
Eleven nodded to this, her thoughts grim. She could feel emotions not her, hear thoughts not hers... feel feelings not hers. And she knew for this small creature inside of her, somehow, it was the same.
"Indeed," she said quietly, pondering what to do. "I don't think I can go back to my family but what now..." It was about then that another figure walked in. He was a taller gentleman, dressed in fine attire. But one could see a large bushy tail behind him, and a set of brown and blue rabbit-like ears. He looked at the two girls and sighed deeply. "They Merged with you... correct? They were supposed to run to the Safe place. I suppose they Freaked. Well... I shall have to escort you there myself I suppose," he added, before taking a bow. "My name is Stanley, and I am here to help. Your situation is... unique I am afraid. But, if you wish for a resolution, first a safe haven must be found and a plot made. Will you come with me?" he added. "But you look like a noble..." Eleven started. "My dear lady... looks can be deceiving," he replied. "Kerik's sister, right?" She nodded. "Thought so. But, ladies, I leave the choice in your hands..." |
Yumi thought of what to do, would this figure be trustworthy. Well since he knew about them he could've ran off and betrayed them. But then again how would they now if he wasn't planning to turn them in? Still they couldn't just run of ignorantly, so she decided to trust him for now "I think we should go with him, if we do we probably have a bigger chance of survival" she said.
She wondered why the Muse inside her didn't speak for she heard that people with Muses hear their thoughts, the emotions that ran through her were of pure naked fear and it was quite disturbing, it made her feel fear at the same time but there was also a bit of trust mingled whenever she looked or thought about this Stanley, she felt as if the Muse trusted him, so that was another reason to choose to trust him. But she decided to also stay alert at all times |
Eleven nodded, seeing the sense in this. But Kerik... and her family! Could she really just walk away and leave them behind? Well, if she didn't they might be in trouble somehow too. No, she knew it would be best and far less painful for them if she took action now.
"Okay... we will go with you Mr. Stanley," the girl finally replied, if not a bit quietly. "My name is-" Stanley shook his head. "Not here," he told her. "Introductions will come at the Safe place." "But you..." Stanley nodded as he started to walk. "I know... it is because I tend to act before I speak. Partly Obi's fault too I suppose. "Now then, let us hasten our steps!" He was still walking, yes, but somehow his steps seemed much quickly than what should be humanly possible. His Muse's doing perhaps? Still, the man was careful not to step too quickly so the girls could follow behind. 'What will this Safe Place be like?' Eleven asked herself as they walked. She found herself glancing behind from time to time, hopeful their absence hadn't been noted yet... |
Stanley walked fast, took fast, suspiciously fast Yumi thought, she had trouble following but she wasn't going to let him know
She followed silently as she understood tat nothing could be discussed here, even though the streets were empty, you never know what might loom in the darkness, it's what her mother taught her and what she had said when she died. Yumi had no one to leave behind, she lived with her wealthy aunt and uncle, but they were selfish and only wanted her to marry rich man so they would be even richer and Yumi felt no regret leaving them, she even felt grateful to be able to escape that fate like his |
Eleven wasn't sure how long their walk was, but it seemed to take them down winding trails, steep hills, until at least they sopped in the middle of a forest. Stanley, once more glancing around to ensure they were alone, placed his palm upon a dead looking tree. Moments later, he nodded to himself.
"Follow me," he said, and walking forward seemed to vanish right through the tree. Eleven, gulping a slight, did as asked half expecting to thunk her head against the tree. However, she passed through as though nothing was there at all. Revealed on the other side was a massive clearing. Muses of different shapes and sizes frolicked here, many with remnants of their days in captivity or scars upon them. There were a few makeshift seats however in the form of wooden benches, and a small campfire. Stanley beckoned for them to sit down, as he tapped upon one of his long rabbit-like ears. Moments later, a Muse's image popped onto his shoulder. This one having the same ears and tails Stanley did, with a long body to match. "Okay, in this Haven we might relax a slight," he told the girl's with a slight bit of relief. "This is my Muse, Obi. He is the Muse of Stealth and Speed. Together... we created this place. I have been slowly working with the Muses to free all of them, after I saw what they go through. You see I was slated to become a Knight," he explained. "but I found this to be my greater calling. So, what are your names?" The image of Obi tilted his head slightly, curious as well. It was strange to see, and Eleven wondered if her Muse could do that too. |
"My name is Yumi, and it's a very noble thing to do, risk yourself to save the muses" Yumi looked around the room, there were muses everywhere, some were hideously scarred, but what made it hideous was that humans did this to such lovely creatures, even scarred they looked beautiful and graceful. "I myself have always hated the gifting ceremony of all thing. How they force the Muses against their will, it's revolting"

"Noble?" Stanley asked, arching a brow. "It is merely the right thing to do, such atrocities must be stopped somehow. My goal is to one day free all of the Muses somehow..." he added, frowning a slight. "But I fear the King has a good Lock upon them I cannot break through. You see many before you here, yes, perhaps might wonder why a rebellion was never staged. The problem is the King has several hundred more under Lock.... many of whom have already been forced into Hosts. I free as many as I can but it's still not enough... I wish to somehow free them all." He nodded his head then.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Yumi, although I do wish it could have been under better circumstances. Your Muses, understandable, were both in a great deal of fear and panic. They were about to be Forced upon new knights. There is no way to reverse this without irreparable harm to both of you. However, over time, you shall both grow closer to each other. And if you grow close enough, you Muse can "shadow manifest" like Obi here on my shoulder is doing now. You should be able to talk with your Muse, and work togetehr as a team. Please, ask me anything you might wonder, alright?" "My name is Eleven," the other replied, bowing her head a slight after, since her name had been asked for. "Eleven?" Stanley asked, blinking. "It is better than Elizabeth," the girl replied with a sigh, smiling sheepishly. "I can fully understand," Stanley replied, knowing all to well the complications some names came with. |
"If this is your goal" she motioned around the room where Muses were watching them curiously "Then I would be honoured to help you" she bowed " Will you accept my help?" Just the sight of all thee Muses afraid and harmed and the thought of all the others still being harmed made her feel a lot of respect toward this man
"It's very good to meet you Eleven and you are right, Eleven is better than Elizabeth" Yumi smiled warmly "though I do think Elizabeth isn't that bad of a name, try Yumalitia" |
Stanley stood a moment from his seat, and very carefully bowed back. "I would be most honored," he replied. "Thank you so much Miss Yumi. We will need all of the help we can get in this goal. For you see, despite my inside knowledge the opportunities to sneak in are few and far between. The Muses you see here have taken me over two years to free," he admitted sadly, as he took his seat once more.
"But," Eleven added, "They are free when they were not before. You should be proud Mr. Stanley! I would be honored to help as well," she added. She looked towards Yuma and giggled softly. "I see why you go by Yuma!" she replied. "I can only imagine the ways people would try to pronounce that!" Stanley smiled broadly as well, one of the rare times he had since coming across the pair. But that smile reflected his nice nature. "Now then, if you two wish to help, we should probably try to figure out what abilities you have..." Stanley pondered, glancing towards the two girls. "I am assuming of course, neither of you have any idea yet correct?" |
"you see Eleven, my mother somewhat liked unusual names. So please just call me Yuma or Yumi, whatever you want." she said with a giggle
"No, I have not a clue what gift my Muse gave me. but I must say I am a bit curious" Now that she had go herself this far into trouble, why not go all the way. |
"Yumi it is then!" Eleven replied with a soft laugh. "Wow... I am almost afraid to ask what the other names she was considering were!" She laughed softly, feeling a slight more relaxed. Perhaps it helped the Muse inside of her was projecting a sort of calming wave, joyous... and relieved as well. Eleven could feel all of these emotions as though they were her very own.
"I do not know my abilities either..." Eleven then admitted towards Stanley. "I'm sorry..." "Oh no, it quite alright ladies! You and your Muses just Bonded after all!" he replied quickly, shaking his head. "I am saying that we should however find out. There are usually two ways to do so. I would always recommend the first, but that involves a very strong Bond which usually takes time to build. It involves simply asking for your Muses's aid... but it seems too soon for the both of you..." "So what was the second plan then?" Eleven asked. "Well... the other way powers can emerge is if one is places in what can be considered mortal danger. I could have each of you in a duel, and it should release the powers to be seen. In this way, such a battle can be monitored and safe. You can see however why the second option I am reluctant to even mention... |
"but how would fighting you be mortal danger if we knew you weren't going to hurt us?" Yumi was confused, monitored and safe wasn't really mortal danger. "I do get that you can't really have us in real mortal danger though" she was getting curious about her muse, it was always silent and only noticeable by the heavy and warm presence she felt inside her body

"That is where the pickle lies..." Stanley replied honestly. "But I might have a plan. I am afraid however that I cannot let you two in on it if this is going to work. Does that make sense?" he asked. Eleven blinked a moment, both brows raised.
"Well... I do think I trust you Mr. Stanley..." she finally replied. "I'll do it. Yumi?" she asked, looking towards her companion. |
She hesitated a second but then said "I'll do it to" She really trusted this Stanley but her mother did always tell her to trust no one.
I also get that you cannot have us in the plan because you need to catch us off guard so by instinct our powers will be exposed, am I right?" oh, she so loved eeling smart |
"Right," Stanley replied, smiling a slight once more. "That is exactly it! Well... for right now however I must restock some supplies for us. If you two will sit tight for a moment, it should not take me long." He got up and gave a very gentleman-like bow, before starting back out into the woods.
Leaving Eleven and Yumi by themselves. Well... and the Muses of course. "I wonder what sort of test we will see?" Eleven asked Yumi. Not long afterwards, however, they heard a roar that shook leaves from nearby branches and seemed to reverberate around the area. It was quickly revealed what sort of creature made that sound, as a HUGE brown bear came charging into the clearing. Its massive claws looked sharp, the teeth looked ready to rend flesh apart, as it came charging towards the two girls... |
"I thought we wouldn't be in real mortal danger" Yumi said scared, 'what do i do, what do i do ohgodohgod' she was panicking 'this power could be really useful right now, no wait stop it Yumi, you've gotta be brave think about the muses' "WE have to protect the muses now, Eleven!" she took the knife she had hidden in her boot and took a defencive position

"YIKES!" Eleven cried, her eyes wide at the sight of the massive bear. "I didn't think he meant THIS! IS HE CRAZY?!?" she yelled, quite beside herself for a moment. That was when again she felt a reassuring feeling inside of her, one that somehow she knew was trying to calm her. Could her Muse feel her panic as well? And what of the muses already here? What would become of them if they ran?
But she had no weapon... Once more, she felt that wave inside of her. Trust it... she took a deep breath and changed to a defense position as well. Moments later, she blinked as that feeling became urgent. And as the bear lunged, she heard a small voice scream in her mind, "TRUST ME!" She nodded, her heart beating quickly, as a pair of light blue wings emerged behind her. The fluttered, in control of another, and she was lifted out of harm's way, landing behind the bear. Before she realized what she was doing, she held her hands apart as a massive bow shimmered out of light and appeared from nowhere. Her hands, once again not moving of her own accord like the wigs, fired an arrow towards the bear. "W-what is this?!?" she asked, unsure about anything going on. The voice however urged once more for her to trust, and so Eleven did. Because right now, what choice was there? Oh she hoped Yumi would be okay too! |
"uwaah, Eleven, you did it" she yelled after her,but she didn't have much time before the bear lunged at her, confused because it's first target had disappeared
'Shoot' she thought, but she felt a reassuring feeling from inside her. She felt she loved this feeling she trusted this feeling. It was as if the muse was talking to her through emotions. She dropped her knife and exposed herself to the warmth coming from inside of her. she felt her body change it felt freer, like a huge weight had fell of her. She looked at herself and se saw that her dress had disappeared and was replaced by a light dress of s oft and white fabric. Her hiar, that she normally wore up fell down to her hips and she felt stronger. The hand gripped tight around a long and thin sword, the blade was a glowing black, and she felt a strange feeling coming from it, like it could do more than it seemed at first glance. Suddenly she felt a pull on her arm,like it was controlled by something else 'the Muse' she thought as the Muse took over and slit her left index finger with tha blade "ouch" she gasped as her bloody finger traced the blade of the sword and it started glowing brightly "what the heck?" the Muse swung the blade in the air and the glowing changed into a silvery substance, which materialised into a ghostly panther. "what the.."was all she could say |
"WOAH!" Eleven commented, as she saw the ghostly panther. She watched the transformation in amazement, even from her spot in the skies.
About then Stanley returned, smiling. "Alright guys, it's good! We're a success!" The bear then, seemed to grin as well as it sat down in place. One could see a tiny little shadow of a muse upon it's snout. Stanley walked over towards the bear, patting its shoulder. "You did well Nature," he told it. "I rather thought so myself," the bear replied with a sort of wink. May I go back to sleep now?" Stanley laughed softly. "Of course, of course," he commented, as the bear started to walk back towards the woods. "Sorry about the drastic measures you too but... wow. This went better than I even thought... how do you both feel?" Obi upon Stan's shoulder peered with curiosity as well, as if wondering too. |
