Aamori gave a nod when Kyran asked if she could handle cleaning the cuts and then took the bottle and cloth that he had handed to her. She then moved so that she was sitting beside Celestine's head, making sure that Kyran would have room to come over to this side to clean off his other hand. She started to unscrew the cap to the peroxide then set it down for a moment while she began messing with the cloth. She folded it over a little and then took it and wrapped it around her index and middle fingers before she reached back down to pick up the peroxide again. Regardless of how this was going to feel to him, the cuts did need to be cleaned and they would probably feel better faster once they were cleaned. She soaked the end of the cloth at her fingers with the peroxide and then reached over to his cheek and lightly started pressing the cloth against the first cut, making sure to clear away the blood in the process of getting the peroxide into the cut.
Kyran started picking up the stuff he was using to clean off Celestine's hand and then moved over to the other side so that he could start on the other hand. He was a little surprised that Celestine had felt him cleaning the blood off his hand. He had assumed since he was unconscious that he wouldn't register pain, apparently he was wrong. Once he had sat down on the other side of Celestine, near Aamori he started the same process as before to clean off Celestine's hand. He was at least trying to be a little more gentle than before but he had to use some pressure to get his hand clean. LaRae continued to rub her thumb gently over his cheek while she sat there. She smiled slightly when he finally leaned his face against her hand. She didn't bother with looking anywhere but at his face for now. It was far easier to keep calm when she was looking at his face, that was by far the only thing that resembled the normal Nanashi. She sat quietly for a few moments, just listening to him cry before she opened her mouth to say something. "...If you keep crying like this ...you're liable to pass out." She uttered quietly. Considering his blood loss on top of how much he was crying she figured he'd probably end up passing out eventually. Vara smiled slightly and continued to dab at Hikari's arm to dry it off. "K-Kyran t-told me your n-name before." She told her. She hadn't shifted her attention off of Hikari at all, even when she explained what had happened to cause her this wound. She was far too concerned with making sure that Hikari was okay to be looking around at other things. Once she dried off Hikari's arm she started to release it, though she gave it another good look before she started to reach for one of the two sticks that were keeping her hair rolled up tightly behind her head. She slipped the stick from her hair causing her hair to loosen slightly. The stick was quite pretty; It was dark blue with white flowers hand painted on it. She gave a weak smile and started twisting it until it separated in two. She set the top part down in her lap and pulled out a needle from the casing. She kept about four needles stuck inside this stick for her hair. It was handy and she never really knew when she was going to need a needle. She took the needle and pinched it between her lips while she put the stick back together and stuck it back in her hair. She then reached for the needle, holding it in her hand while she looked back to Hikari. "I-I'm going to h-have to s-stitch your a-arm up." She told her, though that should have been obvious. |
Celestine's brow furrowed a bit when Aamori started messing with his face and he whimpered almost inaudibly. He could still feel when something was hurting him when he was in this state, he just couldn't really respond to it the way that he normally would. Any other time he would have been swatting Aamori away and telling her to leave his face alone. Again, his fingers twitched when Kyran started to mess with them. At least his hands weren't burned quite as badly as Kyran's or Hikari's since he hadn't had a chance to hold onto Nanashi for as long as they had. His hands were scalded from the blood more than anything.
Nanashi slowly opened his eyes again and stared at LaRae for a moment when she spoke as if he was having trouble registering what she said. He heard her and understood her but he didn't know what he could do about the situation. "....I...it...h-hurts..." he whispered quietly. He wasn't trying to complain, he'd gathered there was nothing anyone could do to help him. All he could do really was cry right now. He couldn't even move right now. He shifted positions a little, or at least tried to. He gasped and then cringed when the spikes on his back dragged on the ground and his tail jerked again, this time breaking free of the orb's hold and thrashing about on the ground again. Hikari laughed softly at Vara's comment. "I thought he might have." she said softly, "I was just making sure." She watched her again as she took the stick from her hair and started to twist it, tilting her head a bit when she spotted the needles. Well that was an interesting storage location. She grimaced a little when told that she was going to have to be stitched. She knew that already, but she still didn't like the sound of it. "...Haha....Oh goody...." she said weakly as she looked away, "I'm not watching." She could stand the pain, but she couldn't watch a needle go through her skin to save her life. Even the thought of it made her shudder. He blinked when she realized that Nanashi's tail was free and then bit her lower lip. She wasn't too thrilled about that, if his tail could get lose other parts could as well. Right now she couldn't really help it, and his tail wasn't hurting anything as long as he didn't hit anyone else, though he didn't seem to be swinging at anyone; he just couldn't hold still. "Nanashi...don't hurt yourself..." |
Nero lifted his head a little when he felt one of the orbs broken through. As soon as Nanashi's tail broke free from the orb it seemed to just drop back onto the ground like it was nothing more than a shadow and then it shot right back over to Nero and returned to his own shadow. He could tell as soon as the orb had shifted back into nothing more than a shadow, once it did that he could only sense the remaining four. He cracked open his eyes open and looked over at Nanashi, seeing his tail trashing about. He wasn't alarmed, not really even concerned. He figured if it got bad again he'd just be asked to do something again. He gave a slight sigh and then tilted his head back down and shut his eyes.
Aamori lifted her fingers up a little when Celestine reacted to her trying to clean the cuts on his face. She looked at him for a moment and then pulled her hand back to put more peroxide on the cloth covering her fingers. She stared at him for a moment and then started to reach over to continue cleaning the cuts. She paused just above the cuts. "It'll be worse if it gets infected." She said quietly and then started lightly pressing her fingers to the cuts again. She continued until she was pretty sure the cuts were clean then pulled her hand back and started unwrapping the cloth from around her fingers. She set the cloth down on the grass beside her and then put the cap back on the bottle of peroxide. She sat there for a moment longer now that she was done cleaning the cuts and stared down at them before finally talking herself into getting up. She walked all the way over to the medical office and slipped inside to grab a couple things before coming back out. She then went back to sit down beside Celestine where she'd been moments before. She came back with a gauze and some medical tape. She set the gauze over the cuts and then started taping it down. She only used two pieces of tape so it crossed over the gauze and held it in place. She was pretty sure that if he'd been conscious for what she was doing he probably would've told her that the gauze was going over board. She just wanted to make sure that it didn't get infected and at this point he couldn't very well object. Kyran had noticed when Celestine's fingers twitched and just shook his head lightly. Then he finished cleaning off his hand and then started drying it just the way he had with the other hand. He guessed the twitching wasn't a big deal, had he been conscious the reaction would probably have been different not to mention he more then likely wouldn't have let either he or Aamori anywhere near him to clean him up. Since he was finished he set the cloths off to the side and closed the cap on the bottle of water he had been using. He sighed softly after Aamori had gotten up and then turned his hands palm side up and looked down at them. They hurt, but you'd be surprised what one can do through the pain. Although, now that he didn't have anything to preoccupy his mind with he was focusing on the fact that they hurt. He turned his hands back over and looked at Aamori once she'd come back. He watched quietly while she tapped the gauze to Celestine's face. Seeing her do that to his cuts reminded him that the nurse was taking a look at Hikari. He only sat there for a moment longer before he started getting to his feet and then headed over to stand near Hikari. Celestine had been taken care of, they just had to wait for him to regain consciousness and he felt Aamori was more than capable of sitting there keeping an eye on him until then. He glanced down at Hikari's arm, looking at the gashes for a moment before looking at the nurse. "So, how is she?" LaRae kept her eyes on him even after he opened his eyes and stared at her. She started to pull her hand back after he said it hurt. She set her hand down in her lap and then sighed softly. "...I know ...I wish there was something ...I could do to help." She said quietly. She really did hate to see him in so much pain and it was worse knowing that there was nothing she could do to help. It was even worse knowing that there wasn't anything that even Hikari could do for him. Since it was apparent that this would have to be waited out, she could only hope that it wasn't going to be too much longer before he started feeling relief and or what ever was causing these changes went away. She continued to sit there just looking at his face, she hadn't even noticed that his tail had been freed from the orb. Vara smiled slightly when Hikari said that she wasn't watching. She could understand that, she couldn't stand to see needles or anything sharp for that matter touch her own skin but she had no problem sticking someone else. She almost started to look over to that thing when Hikari said 'don't hurt yourself' but she caught herself and then sighed. She shifted her eyes for a moment however and looked up to Kyran when he came over and asked how Hikari was. She found it a lot easier to look at Kyran rather than the thing on the ground that she assumed was named Nanashi since that's the name Hikari had used. That thing really crept her out and the last thing she needed was to look at it and wind up too scared to finish the work on Hikari's arm. She looked at Kyran for a moment longer and then looked back down at her arm. "S-she needs s-stitches." She answered. She reached over into the basket with her free hand and pulled out a small spool of thread. She measured out a decent length of the thread and then snapped it from the spool by jerking it hard enough that the thread broke off. She took the end of the thread and pinched it between her index finger and middle finger, closing her eyes for a moment while she mumbled something in her native tongue. Moments after the thread between her fingers started to become encased in an extremely thin sheet of water laced with some of her energy. Once the thread was encased it turned a light shade of blue and then she started to thread her needle. Once she finished threading the needle she took hold of Hikari's arm again and prepared to start stitching the first gash. "I-I know you're n-not watching, j-just wanted t-to tell you this will f-feel very c-cold." She warned. Since the thread was encased in water and laced with her energy it was going to feel almost like ice as she stitched up her arm. Doing it this way was better in the long run because the wounds should heal faster with her energy attached to the thread. She didn't bother giving any warning at all and just rather suddenly stuck the needle into Hikari's skin and started stitching the first gash. She worked relatively quickly obviously she'd done this a few times before. Once she finished stitching the first gash she removed the thread from the needle and used the needle to break the left over thread then she proceeded to get the needle ready so that she could work on the next gash. |
Celestine whined again when she touched his face again and turned his head away slightly, apparently already getting a little closer to coming around. He was still pretty out of it so at least she was still able to get him bandaged up. Once everyone finally stopped messing with him he seemed to settle down and relax again, though if one looked closely they could see his eyes moving about a little as if he was trying to open them and couldn't get them to cooperate.
Nanashi glanced over to Hikari for a moment and sucked in a deep breath, trying his best to keep his tail in one place, but after a few seconds he couldn't take it anymore and it started swishing about again. He was trying not to hit anything, but it was just uncomfortable laying so still. He finally looked up to LaRae again and then closed his eyes, shaking his head a little. "...I...it's....alright..." he said quietly. He tried to shift positions again, trying to get off his back, though again the spikes dragged on the ground and he gasped, jerking again. This time the arm closest to Hikari broke free. He glanced over to it and then clenched his teeth and decided to struggle again, this time freeing his other arm and both of his feet. Once he was free he rolled onto his side, facing LaRae and then stared at his arms. He was just about to start to claw at his arms again but rather he just dug his talons into the ground and closed his eyes tightly. Now that he was free and able to move it was even harder not to tear himself open, but he was trying his best to be still. He was at least glad he could finally turn himself away from the nurse. Hikari nodded slightly when the nurse said that it was going to be cold. Like she had said, she didn't look, though she gasped quietly when the needle pierced her skin. She couldn't help but shudder a little both from the cold and from the fact that there was something running through her skin. That wasn't a pleasant feeling no matter how it sent. She didn't complain about it, though she did look over to Kyran and give him one of those 'I'm going to get you for this later' looks. She was the kind of person that preferred to take care of everyone else and let everyone else leave her alone to take care of herself, too. She sighed and chanced a look when the nurse finished with the stitches and then her gaze quickly shifted over to Nanashi when his arm came free and gasped quietly. She watched his struggle free and turn himself over and then shook her head. "Nanashi!" she said when it looked like he was about to claw himself again. She sighed in relief when he just dug his claws into the ground. "...I know it hurts...just bear with it alright?" she glanced up to the sky again and sighed, "...You're about halfway done." She was already wishing the moon would hurry up and go back to normal again. |
Nero lifted his head again when he sensed the other orbs coming back to him. He looked over at Nanashi just about the time he started rolling over onto his side. He wasn't really surprised to see Nanashi had finally broken free from the orbs. They were considerably weaker by the time he was able to get free, had he felt like it he could've just replaced them as they were weakening. But of course, he really didn't feel like it. Since Nanashi didn't do anything more than roll onto his side and dig his talons into the ground he gave a sigh and tilted his head back down. He was actually half tempted to just go back to his room to get away from everyone but it would be his luck as soon as he shut that door, Hikari would want his help again and either she'd send someone to get him or she'd do it herself. He made a slightly displeased face at the thought and sighed again, deciding for now that he should probably just stay put.
Aamori had watched for a moment when Kyran got up and went over to Hikari, then she turned her eyes back down to Celestine. She just barely caught the slight movement of his eyes beneath their lids while she was looking down at him. She focused a bit more closely for a moment to try and see if her eyes were playing tricks on her. She only looked for a few moments longer before she sat upright again. She had thought about it briefly and finally gave in, scooting around a little so that she was just above his head. She reached out and gently lifted his head up so that she could rest it in her lap, then moved her hands so that one was resting beside her and the other was lightly stroking his hair. LaRae sighed softly hearing him say it was alright. Hearing that didn't really change how she felt. She was still worried about him and she still wished that there was something more that she could do for him than just sit there and stare at him. She sat there quietly until she saw that he'd broken his one arm free. Her breath caught in her throat for a moment and she turned her eyes away momentarily while he broke free of the other orbs. She looked back down at him as he started to roll onto his side facing her and gave a sigh of relief when she saw him dig his claws into the ground rather than tear at his arms again. She assumed that he was just tired of laying restrained like that, especially after spending most of the day stuck in a bed. She lifted her eyes slightly and looked over at Hikari when she said he was only about half way done. That was insane, how was he supposed to last another length of time while being in this state of pain? She shook her head lightly and then she looked down at him. Since he had broken free, she thought briefly about telling him that she wouldn't hesitate this time to restrain him herself if he couldn't control himself, but she couldn't bring herself to actually say that out loud. It just... sounded so mean even if it would be for his own good. Kyran nodded to the nurse when she answered his question and said that Hikari needed stitches. He knew it was something to worry about and Hikari saying otherwise was just not right. He understood that Nanashi's condition was a little more urgent but by no means did that mean she couldn't be looked at too, especially since she always looked after everyone else without a second thought. He gave a nervous laugh when he looked at her and noticed the look she'd given him. Well... that certainly told him he had something coming to him later. He half wondered if she was really going to do anything to him, after all he was just worried about her and had talked the nurse into taking a look at her arm. How was he supposed to know that she'd end up needing stitches? He stepped a little closer so that he was practically standing right beside her and reached down to set his hand on top of her head lightly. "Later, if it'll make you feel better... I don't mind kissing where it hurts." He told her quietly while wearing a small smile plastered to his face. Vara was pretty good at ignoring the things that went on around her while she was working, especially if it was something important that she was doing. She finished threading the needle again pretty quickly though she nearly jumped out of her skin when she noticed that Nanashi had moved completely and rolled over. Which caused her to fumble and drop the needle, though, thankfully she did grab hold of the thread before she lost the needle to the grass. It was almost impossible for her to ignore him moving, mostly because of the clan he was from. Once he appeared to not be moving too much she gave a sigh and prepared to work on the next gash in Hikari's arm. She took hold of her arm again and then just like before, without warning she stuck the needle into her skin and started stitching the next gash shut. She tried to be quick with this one as well, though that was mostly because she didn't want Nanashi to move again and have it startle her so bad that she hurt Hikari rather than help her. As soon as she finished stitching the gash she broke the thread again and then released her arm before preparing for the last gash that needed to be stitched. |
Celestine continued to lay there for a little while longer before he finally started to open his eyes again. He blinked a few times while staring up at the sky with a dazed expression. After another moment he turned his head slightly and groaned, still not seeming to comprehend exactly where he was or what was going on. He raised his hand slowly to his face to rub his eyes and then gasped and jerked his hand back when he pressed against one of the blisters on his fingers. He held his hand a few inches above his face for a few moments while he stared at it as if he was trying to remember how it got that way. He blinked again and then rubbed the back of his other hand over the gauze on his face, looking mildly confused.
Nanashi's ears laid back a little more when he heard what Hikari said. "...H...half...way?..." he muttered quietly as he closed his eyes. Now he really looked like he'd rather be stabbed. He looked back to LaRae again for a moment and then lowered his eyes to stare at her hand. He wanted to hold it right now while he was trying to sit through this, but he knew he would hurt her if he tried. He would definitely burn her badly, even if he didn't claw her. He finally just closed his eyes again and let out a shaky breath. He lay a few moments in silence, trying to be still though he couldn't manage that for long before he couldn't keep his feet still any longer. He shifted slightly and tried to burrow his face into the grass while one of his feet started to claw against his other leg, though he was being careful this time...like a kid trying to scratch an itch they knew they weren't supposed to mess with but couldn't leave alone. He was trying to just...get the scales off and not tear too deeply into his skin like he had before. He couldn't lat there another....century with those things all over him. Hikari looked up to Kyran when he placed his hand on her head and sighed, "...You may want to kiss your own tail later, then." she said with a half smile. She was still looking up to him when the needle jabbed into her arm again and she let out an almost silent squeak before she cringed and dropped her head again, shivering slightly. She absently wrapped her own tail rather tightly around Kyran's leg while he was standing there, and her grip only seemed to get a tiny bit tighter every time Vara made another stitch. She kept her eyes closed for this one...it hurt a but more than the last since it was the deepest one. The middle one had gotten her the worse so it hurt a bit more to be stitched up. Even after she was finished her tail remained tightly around Kyran's leg for a moment before she finally remembered to release him. She glanced up to him sheepishly for a moment, slightly embarrassed about being such a baby over this, but her attention was soon caught by something else. "Nanashi..." she said in that scolding tone when she caught him picking at the scales again. She could tell he was trying to be careful, but he was still managing to cut himself. Those talons were sharper than he seemed to realize they were. |
Aamori smiled a bit when Celestine finally opened his eyes and then she stopped stroking his hair. She was relieved that he was coming around, even if he didn't seem to remember what had happened. At least she gathered that much from seeing the confused look on his face after he saw his hand and felt the gauze. She didn't know in very great detail what had happened, but she could try and refresh his memory. "Kyran said you got hit rather hard in the head while trying to help restrain Nanashi." She told him. "...You have a few cuts on your cheek, that's why it's bandaged." She added while looking down at him.
LaRae continued to look down at him though her eyes shifted briefly to her hand when she noticed he was staring at it. She gave a sigh and balled up her hand. She would have gladly given him her hand to hold, except for doing that would result in her hand getting burned. She'd never been burned by anything other than the marking on her back and that hurt plenty. She looked back to Nanashi when he started trying to burrow if face in the grass. She didn't even realize what he was doing until Hikari spoke his name in that scolding tone. She looked at Hikari for a moment and half shook her head. She was getting stitches in her arm and she was still more concerned with Nanashi. She was starting to think that even if Hikari was like... on the verge of death, she'd still be more concerned for someone other than herself. Having heard the tone Hikari used, she figured Nanashi was doing something he wasn't supposed to. She finally looked down to his feet, seeing that he was rather carefully clawing at the scales. She probably would've noticed that sooner if he hadn't been trying to be careful about it. She shook her head again. "...Nanashi..." She said with a sigh. "You have to refrain from doing that... you're already cutting yourself..." She uttered while moving down to his legs. She reached out to grab hold of his leg just above where the scales stopped and tried to move the one leg away from the other. She didn't want to forcefully keep him clawing at the scales unless she really had to. Kyran left his hand on top of her head until she spoke and then he gave another nervous laugh. Had he really done something bad enough to her that it would result in something bad happening to him? He hoped she was just blowing smoke. He turned his eyes down to what Vara was doing once Hikari had cringed and dropped her head. He couldn't say that it was pleasant watching Vara work but he couldn't help but watch for a moment. His attention really quickly shifted when he felt something wrapping itself tightly around his leg. He shook his head a little seeing Hikari's tail. It wasn't that bad, at least at first. Her tails grip was steadily getting tighter and tighter and soon enough he was having trouble just ignoring it. His breath had caught in his throat and he could feel his leg losing circulation. Thankfully Hikari finally let his leg go and he was able to breath comfortably again. He looked down at her and smiled a little before reaching down to rub where her tail had wrapped around his leg. He wasn't upset or anything mostly because he understood that getting the stitches hurt. "Should I turn so you can get my other leg next time?" He asked with a small laugh. Vara finished threading the needle again and was about to start on the last gash in Hikari's arm but she startled so badly when her attention was drawn to Nanashi that she dropped the needle again. This time she'd turned to look over at him when she started to drop the needle so she lost the needle to the grass. She caught her breath and started to turn back to finish up Hikari's arm, only now noticing that she wasn't holding the needle any longer. She couldn't believe she'd managed to drop the darn thing, now when she found it she'd have to sanitize the needle and start the threading over again. She gave a heavy sigh and started searching the grass in front of her for the needle. Thankfully it didn't take too long for her to find it, but still, it was a delay she didn't want. She picked the needle up and broke the thread from it before reaching for the peroxide to clean the needle. Once she was certain it was clean enough she reached for the thread again and began to thread the needle once more the way she'd done it before. She then wasted very little time taking hold of Hikari's arm and proceeding to stitch up the last gash. Just as before she tried to work quickly at stitching her up though making sure not to jeopardize the quality of the job for the speed. When she finished the last stitch she broke the thread and sat back then began putting her stuff back in her basket. She glanced back over to Hikari for a moment. "D-do you w-want those b-bandaged up?" She asked quietly. She didn't think they'd need to be covered up but it didn't hurt to ask. |
Celestine blinked again when he heard Aamori's voice and then gasped, almost jerking away from her. Obviously, he didn't recognize her at first. After a moment he relaxed again and looked up to her silently before he closed his eyes again and sighed. "...That hurts..." he muttered quietly, rubbing his face again where the gauze was. His ears laid back a little as he started to pick at the tape then sucked in his breath through his teeth when the pain registered in his fingers as well. The tape was bugging him; he hated having things stuck to him. Plus the bandage didn't feel very good over the cuts.
Nanashi's ears fell back a little more when he heard Hikari getting onto him and he stopped moving his toes, though he couldn't seem to make his foot move away from his leg. He whined quietly when LaRae grabbed onto his knee and pulled his leg away from the other. He tried to do his feet like he'd done his hands and dig his claws into the ground, but he only dug up a little earth and managed to curl his toes up tightly. He shuddered violently and just tried to curl in on himself. "...I...c-can't...do this..." he whimpered. He didn't know how they expected him to lay here and lay still through this for another hour or so. Hikari sighed softly when she noticed LaRae going to stop Nanashi from clawing himself and then glanced back up to Kyran and sighed, "Sorry..." she said quietly. She looked back to Vara again when she noticed that she was rumbling around in the grass and then tilted her head slightly. She'd noticed the way that Vara kept flinching every time Nanashi made a sudden movement, though she didn't say anything about it. She knew the poor woman was having a hard enough time staying calm. Once she found her needle she quickly looked away again, still doing good to hold still. She gasped again when she initially stuck the needle in and shivered again before she made sure to train her eyes elsewhere. She looked at Nanashi and sighed softly when she saw the way he was curled up. She could just barely hear what he said when he spoke and then lowered her eyes. She honestly wanted to hug him right about now, or at least pet him; something to try to distract him from the pain for a while. Once she finished she looked back to her again and then glanced down to the three rows on her arm. "No, this is fine. Thank you." she said softly as she looked back to her with a slight smile. She was pretty sure that she could wrap it up later if she didn't want to look at it, or just put her other sleeve over it. |
Aamori stared at him when he didn't recognize her at first and then shook her head lightly when he said 'that hurts'. She focused on where he was rubbing his hand and thought 'of course it hurts... you've got three cuts under that gauze...'. She just stared at him again when he started picking at the tape. She couldn't believe he was actually picking at it, that was there to protect the cuts. It didn't take her long to lift her hand up and smack his hand away from the tape. She knew the under part of his hand was sore but she didn't really care enough to not smack his hand when he touched the tape. It served him right if her smacking his hand hurt, he shouldn't be messing with the bandage to begin with. "Leave the tape alone." She told him. "You don't need to take that off just yet."
LaRae pulled her hand back once Nanashi's legs had been separated. She sighed softly when he wound up just curling up. She could tell that it was hard for him to just stay still through this so she really wished that he didn't have to wait this out for such a length of time. Her ears fell back when she heard what he said and she continued to just sit there quietly for a few moments. She finally lifted her hand up and reached over to gently stroke his hair. She couldn't think of much else that she could do right now and unfortunately she didn't think words could help very much right now. Kyran looked down to Hikari when she apologized and gave a slight nod in acknowledgment. He went right back to watching Vara work once she got the needle ready again. He still couldn't believe that Hikari had said it was nothing. He was aware that she had a higher concern for the well being of others, but her arm was pretty bad and didn't need to be over looked. He had a pretty good idea that she wouldn't have bothered to get someone to look at it at all had he not asked Vara. He'd only even bothered asking Vara because no one else in the group knew how to heal. Once Vara was finished and started to put her things away he looked back to Hikari. "Now, was that really that bad?" Vara gave a slight nod when Hikari answered her and then she continued to put the last couple things in her basket. She did sadly startle again when Nanashi moved and curled up. She had nothing to really focus on so all of her attention was snagged easily when he moved again. She sat pretty still until he was done and then turned her head slowly to look back at Hikari. "T-those should h-heal a lot faster t-then normal." She paused and started to get to her feet, taking her basket in her hands while she got up. "O-oh. Y-you won't have t-to r-remove the s-stitches either. T-they will just d-dissolve on t-their own as you're h-healing." She told her and then glanced around a little. She didn't think anyone else needed help right now. Well, other than Nanashi but she wouldn't even know where to begin to help him. Not to mention she wasn't so sure she could put aside his clan long enough to do anything beneficial for him. She glanced again to Hikari and then to Kyran. "I-if you need a-anything else... j-just let me k-know." She uttered quickly and then started to scurry back to the medical office. She'd had more than enough excitement for one night and at times like this she really wished that she wasn't the only one who was here during the nights. |
Celestine wasn't really paying too much attention to what he was doing, his picking at the tape was more an absent motion than anything. It was uncomfortable when his face scrunched to have that stuff over it since it kind of pinched and pulled at his skin if he made any kind of face, and he wasn't used to it. He gasped when Aamori smacked his hand, causing the base of his palm to hit against the gauze. That really hurt...in several places. He jerked his hand back and cringed before starting to put his hand back to his face, though he couldn't put his hand over the gauze either. Scrunching his face when he cringed only annoyed him more when the tape crinkled under his eye. "Mmmm..." he groaned, sounding a little agitated as he rubbed the area of the tape that was closest to his eye with the back of his hand.
Hikari looked back up to Kyran again and sighed, "Next time I'll let you sit through it for me and you can let me know." she said simply. Her gaze wandered back to Vara when she heard her explaining about the stitches and she nodded slightly. "Alright...thank you." she said as the woman was scurrying away. She smiled slightly and shook her head before she sighed and looked back to Nanashi again. She scooted a little closer to him and then lightly laid her hand on his shoulder blade and started to rub his back a little. Her hand hurt, but she was sure that it was nothing compared to bow bad Nanashi was feeling right now, so she could overlook it. She stayed away from his head since LaRae was looking over him as well. She was just trying to help the only way that she could. Nanashi closed his eyes again tightly, though he relaxed a tiny bit when LaRae started to stroke his hair again. That still felt good, even though he was in pain everywhere else. He tried to just focus on that and lay still. He startled a little when Hikari touched him again and his eyes shot wide open, though once he realized what it was he relaxed again, coughing slightly. All of his screaming, crying, and ragged breathing had caused his throat to start acting up again. After a few moments he closed his eyes again, trying to relax a little more. His claws dug their way out of the ground and then dug in once more. He was starting to dig himself a decent set of little holes under his fingers. |
Aamori hadn't meant for his hand to hit the gauze when she smacked it away so she shut her eyes rather tightly and looked away when she saw it make contact. She'd only meant to get his hand away while making sure he knew not to mess with the tape. She opened her eyes and started to look back down at him. She did feel a little sorry that his hand had smacked against the gauze but she wasn't going to apologize for that; It was an accident anyway. She gave a small sigh hearing that he sounded a little agitated. "Just leave the tape and gauze alone and it'll be able to come off sooner."
LaRae continued to sit there quietly, gently stroking his hair. She had planned to keep doing that at least until she was told to stop, or her arm got tired; Which ever of the two came first. She lifted her eyes when Hikari scooted closer and just watched as she started to rub his back. She stared for a moment and then her eyes shifted so that she was looking at Nanashi again. She couldn't say that she was surprised to see that Hikari came right back over after she was let loose. She was surprised however that Hikari hadn't tried to comfort Nanashi while she was getting those stitches in her arm. Well, she did keep an eye on him anyway and spoke up when she felt the need to. She gave a soft sigh. She couldn't really complain, at least Nanashi was getting some positive attention and comfort in this time of need. Kyran sighed after what Hikari said and then watched her move right back over to Nanashi. He stood there for a moment before he turned and started over near Nero. He didn't get very close to him, he was a good four or five feet from him before he sat down on the ground. He didn't think Nanashi needed to be crowded by too many people and since LaRae and Hikari were with him he was pretty sure he didn't need him too. Though he was in the area in case something changed and he was needed for something. |
Celestine looked up to Aamori and gave her an irritated look before he started to raise his head off of her lap and then gasped and dropped back again before raising the base of his palm to press against his left temple below the scar, closing his eyes tightly. His entire head was throbbing, as it usually did right after he woke up from getting knocked out like that. He laid there for a moment before he tried again, slower this time. He pushed himself up, trying to use the base of his palm to push himself up without pressing his hands against the ground. Once he sat up he sighed and leaned forward, resting his elbow on his knee. After a minute he raised his head enough to get a good look around. He stared at Nanashi for a few moments and then looked over to where Kyran and Nero had ended up. He sighed and finally started to get to his feet, staggering forward a little as he tried to get his balance. He kept his hand to his head for a moment and then looked back to Aamori for a moment giving her a little nod before he started over toward Kyran. Maybe over thee he could get this annoying crap off of his face in peace at least. Once he got there he sighed and sank down beside Kyran, though he left a good bit of distance. He was just about to reach for the tape again when he stopped to get another look at his hands. He glanced over to Kyran and then glanced down to his hands. "...How bad are yours?" he asked simply.
Hikari sighed softly and glanced to LaRae for a moment and then back down to Nanashi who was still just clawing at the ground. She finally stopped rubbing his back and then glanced up to the sky again. "...It's getting there..." she muttered quietly, "...Hang in there a little longer, it's almost over." she said quietly, though she looked a lot more worried than she sounded with she looked back down. She looked at LaRae and tried to give her a smile as she pulled her hand back form Nanashi. At least he seemed to be calming down a little bit. |
Aamori just stared down at Celestine after he gave her that look, she lifted her head a little and rolled her eyes. Ungrateful pain in the ass. She looked back at him briefly once he dropped back and then watched as he started trying to sit up again. She wasn't going to protest his getting up right now, even though she thought he should lay down until he was alright again. The last thing she needed was to say something to him and have him get more irritated. She continued to watch him until he finally got to his feet. She saw that he was going over towards Kyran and then she started to get to her feet. She stretched a bit and was about to walk over there herself but she remembered that she never did get that glass of water she'd wanted. That was the whole reason she even got out of bed to begin with. She gave a sigh and then started to head to the kitchen. When she got closer to the door she noticed the food on the ground and quirked a brow slightly but didn't bother paying too much more attention to it. She slipped inside the kitchen and went straight over to the counter, she knew none of the cooks were going to up right now so she had already prepared herself to climb over the counter to get a glass and fill it. Once she'd done that she set the glass down on the counter and climbed back over, picking up the glass again as she started back out of the kitchen.
Kyran was sitting with his legs crossed in front of him, his back hunched over slightly and his hands resting in his lap. He was just sitting there quietly trying to relax a little at least until Celestine came over and sat down. He turned his head slightly and looked over at him when he asked about his hands. He sighed softly and dropped his eyes down to his own hands as he lifted them up slightly and turned them over. He barely moved anything but his wrists when he turned his hands over, it was obvious just by looking at them that the skin on his palms was so taut from being burned that he couldn't really move his fingers easily. There were cracks in the skin from where he had forced his hands to move as if they weren't burned and there were a couple blisters along with the expected burnt-red color. He lifted his eyes and glanced back over to Celestine and gave a weak smile. "They're not as bad as they could be." He answered. They were bad, but not as bad as Hikari's probably were. He was at least glad that he could still move his hands and fingers, sure it hurt like hell but he could still use his hands. The fact that Celestine's hands weren't covered in blood any more was proof enough of that. "I'd ask how your hands were... but I already know." He uttered quietly. LaRae lifted her eyes for a moment when she heard Hikari talking. She stared at her while she was looking up at the sky and gave a slight sigh of relief when she said that it was almost over. That was good to hear, now she just hoped when this was all over that Nanashi would go back to the way he looked before all these changes. She was still stroking his hair gently the whole time. She saw Hikari's attempt at smiling and then offered a weak smile in return before she lowered her eyes back down to rest on Nanashi. |
Celestine looked down to Kyran's hands and cringed a little at the sight of them, which reminded him of why he'd come over in the first place. He shook his head and then sighed and moved a little closer to him, moving around so that she was sitting on front of him. He looked down at his hands then glanced at his owns when he mentioned them. His were nowhere near that bad. He could still moved them around freely and it only hurt when he touched something warm...or pressed on a blister. He shook his head slightly and then reached out to Kyran's hands slowly, slipping his own under Kyran's and raising them slowly. "...I'm going to try something." he said simply. He removed his hands from beneath Kyran's and then positioned them over his palms, turning his hands over so that his own palms were facing Kyran's like he was about to slap hands with him. His hands didn't move from where they were, however, and remained hovering about two inches above Kyran's. He really wasn't too thrilled about revealing his ability to heal, but he was pretty sure Kyran was in enough pain already that he could stand to at least try. He'd already assumed that Hikari couldn't heal burns or she would have surely gotten to Kyran's hands by now. He wasn't even positive this was going to work for him. He had learned the spell for healing burns long ago, but this was the first time he'd ever tried to use it. At least it couldn't really hurt anything if he screwed up, he was pretty sure nothing would even happen. He finally took a deep breath and then stared down at Kyran's hands while he started to mutter a quiet chant in his own language, speaking slower than he normally did when he chanted, trying to make sure that he got it right. Unlike Aamori's spell there really wasn't a set pace to these. As long as you pronounced everything correctly you could rattle it off at the speed of light if you liked. As usual when he used his magic a faint green aura surrounded his hands and then his hair started to blow back slightly. Like Aamori had earlier Kyran would start to feel cool air blowing against his skin and swirling about between their palms. Gradually, he should have been able to feel his skin relaxing and returning to it's usual elasticity. The redness started to fade and the blisters slowly shrank in size and redness until they were barely noticeable at all by looking. His hands would still probably be a little sore to move, but they should at least recover on their own soon. He lowered his hands and then looked down to Kyran's again, sighing. Well, not too bad for his first try, he supposed. "Sorry, that's the best I can do." He said simply.
Hikari looked back down to Nanashi again after LaRae did and then turned her eyes back tot he moon, watching it carefully. The red color was slowly starting to fade from the third moon's surface, though it still liked another ten minutes or so before it would be gone completely. She glanced down to Nanashi again when he seemed to be growing a bit more restless. She guessed that meant that it was about time for him to change back. She hoped this time would be easier on him than the first time around, but she somehow doubted it. (lol I got lazy... I'll fool with the fool when I get up. XD)) |
Aamori finally came back to where Celestine and Kyran were. She had neared them just towards the end of Celestine healing Kyran's hands. She was a little surprised to see he'd actually, willingly healed Kyran. That was a little in the open too because not only did Kyran see him healing, but so did Nero. Though, Nero turned his head away like he was uninterested right after Celestine had finished. Quite a few people had learned about his ability to heal today. That now made three more, though Hisako didn't count as a regular person he hung around so she guessed her seeing it didn't matter. She moved a little closer, leaving plenty of room for Celestine to sit back where he was before she sat down and started taking sips from her water. She guessed that Kyran's hands must have been bad enough that they out weighed Celestine's want for no one to know he could heal. Otherwise she highly doubted that he would've bothered.
Kyran watched for a moment while Celestine moved around in front of him and then quirked a brow slightly when he took his hands and raised them. He didn't resist at all and just let Celestine move his hands around. He was a little curious as to what he was going to try so of course he was rather intently staring down at their hands. For a moment when Celestine's hands were directly above his he shuddered to think that his hands might actually get slapped like in a game of red hands. Well... their hands were already red. He shook his head lightly, obviously he was trying to find some humor somewhere since these past few hours had been dreadfully serious. He continued to watch quietly while Celestine did, what ever it was he was trying. He glanced up briefly after he noticed the aura around Celestine's hands and saw his hair blow back a little. His eyes rather quickly dropped back down when he felt the cool air blowing against his skin. He'd have to admit, even if nothing happened, the cool air even for a moment was nice enough since his hands hurt. He did start to feel his skin loosening back to normal and he so badly wanted to drop his head down to the side so he could watch to see what was actually happening, but he continued to just sit there patiently. Once Celestine had finally finished and lowered his hands, he bent his wrists slightly so that his palms were facing him and he looked over his hands. Since when could Celestine heal? That was a silly question now that he was thinking about it. There were plenty of things that he didn't know any of them could do and it wasn't like they all went broadcasting their abilities. He flexed his fingers a bit quite relieved that they didn't hurt nearly as bad as before, they were just a little sore but nothing he couldn't manage. After he was done looking at his hands he shifted his eyes back over to Celestine, offering a smile. "No need to apologize, this is plenty good enough." He told him. "I know you didn't have to do anything, so thank you." |
Celestine sighed softly and nodded a little when Kyran thanked him. "...Don't mention it." he said simply as he scurried back over to where he was sitting before. "You've helped me enough." he added. He was making it sound more like payback than a favor, though he would have done it regardless. It was usually Kyran who was the one stuck dealing with him when he was injured, so he thought that was good enough reason. Even if he hadn't though he would have done it anyway. There was no sense in leaving him in that much pain when there was something he could do about it, and he had a feeling Kyran was going to need his hands later. "...If you can pry Hikari away from him long enough I guess I'll get hers, too." he said simply, his eyes falling to the grass as he sighed.
Nanashi continued to lay there as still as he could manage, whimpering every now and again when he felt the urge to just...scream or cry again. not long after Hikari told him it was almost over he felt that sharp twisting pain in his abdomen again and then immediately panicked. He didn't know what in the hell he was supposed to expect now. Could he possibly change any more than he already had? His eyes snapped open and he looked up to LaRae and then back to Hikari with wide eyes. Hikari didn't even seem to know what to really expect now. He didn't get too much time to think about it before the pain sharpened and he tried to roll in on himself even more. Everything that had happened before seemed to be reversing itself. The scales on his arms started to shrink and retract ad if they had never been there, leaving his arms and legs slightly reddened, though they looked more irritated than actually burned. He gritted his teeth together as they started to shrink back to normal as well, along with the talons that had had tipped his fingers. He couldn't hold in his scream and longer when his bones started to shift again; that was probably what hurt the most. His deformed fingers returned to their normal length and separated out so that there were four rather than three again, and his feet did the same as they returned to normal. He clutched tightly at the grass and gasped raggedly as his ribs returned to their usual size and shape. He hoped it was over, but of course the last things to go were the spikes and the horns. He arched his back and cried out weakly as the spikes started to slide back into his skin, leaving holes in their wake where they had been. Now that the spikes weren't there to block the flow the blood was oozing out of his back more freely. The same was happening with his horns, the more they retracted, the larger the opening was around them. He could still feel his heart thudding hard in his chest while this was happening, though before his horns had even completely withdrawn he collapsed back to the ground, gasping shortly for a second as his heart struggled to keep going, though the beat was already off. Between the strain, the blood loss, and just how badly he was panicking, his body had already taken about as much as it could. Just as the horns sank back into his head he took in another short gasp and his heart gave one final thud before it went still. His half open eyes stared lifelessly past LaRae's knees while his fingers continued to clutch the grass tightly. Hikari watched as Nanashi started to twist and writhe on the grass while his body changed back. She pulled her hand back and bit her lower lip as she watched, since there was little she could do. Once it was down to the point that the spikes and horns were retracting, she finally held her hands over him and started to chant quietly, trying to heal the wounds that the things left behind on his back since he really didn't need to lose a whole lot more blood. He hadn't lost enough blood that the blood loss alone would kill him, but it would definitely weaken him considerably. Once his horns had gotten to the point that they were almost gone she moved to try to heal those areas of his head as well, working from the outside in. By the time the horns were actually gone she already had move of the wound closed, and she fist finished it off once they went away. Again she found herself breathing heavily while she tried to hold herself up. Her hands were still aching but she tried to ignore it for now and just use them the best that she could, she'd deal with them later. "...Ah....alright....it.....it's...over....." she said quietly. She looked at Nanashi and sighed softly. She couldn't see his face as the moment, but something seemed a bit off. He wasn't responding. Had she been a little less on the verge of passing out herself, she might have noticed first that he wasn't even breathing. "...Nanashi?" Did he pass out? |
Kyran gave a slight nod when Celestine said don't mention it. He guessed he had helped Celestine quite a bit, but he never expected anything in return for it. He was still thankful nonetheless. He looked over towards Hikari when Celestine said he could do hers too if she could be pried away from Nanashi long enough. Hikari's hands were likely worse than his had been so it was probably in her best interest to have Celestine heal her hands as well. He gave a soft sigh and started to stand up. "I'll see if I can pull her away." He said before he started to walk back over to Hikari. By the time he made it over he didn't think he was going to be able to pry her away from Nanashi, not with him in that much pain. He stood there quietly just watching with a concerned look on his face as Nanashi was changing back to his normal self. His attention shifted slightly to Hikari when she started to heal the wounds where the spikes had been and then where the horns were. Once Hikari was done he started to kneel down beside her, obviously concerned for her since she looked like she was ready to just drop. He hadn't even thought to double check Nanashi. He assumed that since Hikari had healed him that he'd be fine, so of course his attention went straight to her rather than him. He did however look back over to Nanashi when Hikari said his name and he didn't seem to be responding. His first thought of course was that Nanashi must have passed out, it would make a lot of sense considering everything that he'd been through.
LaRae almost immediately pulled her hand back from his head when his eyes opened and he looked up at her and then to Hikari. She set her hand back in her lap and stared at him, extremely worried all over again. She sat perfectly still with her ears laid back while she watched the scales disappear, then his hands and feet returned to normal. She was relieved to say the least that he was going back to the way he looked before all of the changes. She couldn't see when the spikes started to slide back into his back but she assumed they were since he had arched his back and moments later Hikari had started to heal him. She watched as his horns started to go back down and she had to say she was glad that Hikari was able to heal because the wholes his horns had left certainly weren't something pleasant to look at. She was going to start relaxing a little since Hikari had healed him but her breath caught in her throat when he wasn't responding and it looked to her that he might not even be breathing. She leaned forward a little and reached out, slipping her hand under his cheek and lifting his head up a little so that she could look at his face. "...Nanashi?" She asked quietly. She then focused on his eyes, seeing how lifeless they were had only caused her own eyes to widen considerably. Her breath caught again at the immediate thought that he may have died. Of course she didn't want to believe that, he wasn't supposed to die, he couldn't. She lifted her other hand up and started to reach over, her hand shaking slightly as she set it on his neck. She left her hand there for a moment, waiting to feel a pulse. When she didn't feel one her eyes started to water slightly and then she lifted her hand up a little and moved it down to press against his chest over his heart. She expected to feel that beating easily enough considering everything that he'd gone through. Unfortunately she didn't feel his heart beating either which lead her to just start crying. He wasn't breathing, had no pulse and his heart had stopped, that was more than enough to pronounce him dead. She shifted slightly and pulled him up enough that she could hold his head to her chest. Then she lowered her head down and nuzzled against his while she cried. She didn't want to believe that he was really gone, he couldn't be. |
Celestine sighed again and nodded as he looked up up to Kyran, watching him as he got up to go over to Hikari. His ears laid back when he saw the way that Nanashi had started writhing and screaming again, though hew wasn't making as big of a fuss as he had the first time. The poor guy was probably too worn out to scream much more, on top of that he sounded hoarse. He was relieved when Nanashi finally settled down, though he couldn't tell anything from back here. It wasn't until LaRae started to check his pulse that he got a sinking feeling in his stomach and stood up, moving a little closer. He stopped about halfway there and just stared when he saw LaRae crying and nuzzling him. Nanashi wasn't moving at all, not even to breathe as far as he could tell. That was enough to tell him that he had died. He swallowed hard and then took another absent step forward before he stopped again, that hollow expression coming over his face again. How could Nanashi die now? After all of that, after putting up with everything, how could he give in after everything was over? He shook his head slightly and then just sank back to his knees again. "....."
Hikari looked at LaRae when she reached to check Nanashi's pulse and then looked at him a little more closely, realizing quickly that he wasn't breathing. Her eyes widened slightly "Oh my god!" she said in a shocked tone. She looked him over for half a second. It wasn't the blood loss that had killed him,s he knew. He must have just had a heart attack or something. He shook her head and sprung forward quickly, "LaRae, let go and sit back!" she said quickly, gently pushing against her shoulder as she hooked her other arm under Nanashi, a little forcefully if necessary, and paced him back on the ground flat. She almost hated to tell her that, but she'd sat around staring in shock long enough and time was of the escence. She placed one hand on Nanashi's forehead and the other under his chin, tinting his head back a little as she opened his mouth. She lowered her head so that her ear was just above his mouth, listening for any sign of breathing. She heard and felt nothing so she took a deep breath and pinched his nose closed as she put her mouth over his and breathed into him, glancing sideways to make sure that his chest rose. She lifted her head and waited a second for his chest to fall before breathing into him again. she sat back again quickly and placed the ball of her hand on his chest once it had fallen again and then placed her other hand on top of it, lacing her fingers with a little difficulty before she started to press down on his chest, giving it just enough time to recoil before she pressed down again. This was killing her hands, but she didn't really care, she was a little too busy trying to keep count of how many compressions she was doing. Once she reached thirty she stopped and tilted his head back again, repeating what she'd done before she started the compressions without checking to make sure that he was breathing. After she second breath she went right back to folding her hands on his chest and began counting the compressions again. She wasn't about to let him just die after they'd gone through all of that, not without a fight. |
Kyran stared at Nanashi while LaRae checked him for a pulse and then his eyes widened slightly when she started crying. That was more than enough to tell him that Nanashi's heart must have stopped. He wasn't exactly sure what to do, he was kind of in a state of shock. He couldn't believe that had happened. He watched as Hikari rushed over and took Nanashi away from LaRae and set him on the ground. He knew that CPR was a good thing to start with to try and get his heart beating and get him breathing again, he just hoped that would be good enough to bring him back. He sighed softly and started to get to his feet. He had looked over at LaRae and saw the way she was just sitting there since Hikari had pushed her back. He went over to her and knelt down beside her, reaching out to set his hand on her shoulder gently in hopes of offering her some comfort since she appeared a little hurt that Hikari was willing to take Nanashi from her by force if necessary.
LaRae hadn't wanted to let go of Nanashi, she just wanted to sit there and hold him so of course she put up a little resistance when Hikari wanted to take him away from her. She did let go though since Hikari would've forcefully taken him if she didn't just let go. She sat back, even scooted back a little and pulled her knees up to her chest and practically curled in on herself while she watched Hikari start preforming CPR. Even in a time like this she was a little jealous that Hikari was touching his lips; She much rather would've been the one to preform CPR on him but alas she wasn't properly trained. She'd only ever seen it preformed once or twice and didn't know exactly how to do it. She started to burrow her head into her legs but glanced up when she felt someone touch her shoulder. She was still crying and her face was ridden with tears. She looked at Kyran for a moment and then suddenly reached out and wrapped her arms around his middle, trying to bury her head into him while she continued to cry. Aamori had been watching what was happening to Nanashi, quietly while continuing to take sips of her water. She was worried about him but she was still confused as to what was going on with him to begin with. She didn't get too alarmed until she noticed LaRae had checked for a pulse, and then Celestine had stood up. She continued to sit there for a few moments, at least until LaRae was crying and nuzzling Nanashi. Then she set her glass down and started to get up herself. She started to walk over to at least where Celestine was before she came to a stop. She glanced down at Celestine for a moment and then looked back over to Hikari since she'd started to preform CPR. She was speechless for lack of better words. She honestly couldn't believe, even though she was seeing it that Nanashi was dead. She shifted her eyes over to LaRae for a moment, seeing her crying still, burying herself into Kyran this time. She knew, somewhat how LaRae was feeling right now. Nero had only looked up for a moment when Nanashi had started to change back. He had lowered his head as the process had progressed. There was no real need to watch him change back when he'd seen him change to begin with. Though he did look up again when he heard LaRae crying and then Hikari saying 'Oh my God' the way she had. He stared for a moment, quickly realizing that they guy had died. He shook his head lightly when Hikari started preforming CPR. Then he finally started to get to his feet and walk over towards them. He came to a stop a couple feet away and just watched as Hikari continued working. He didn't want to interrupt her, but if he did it would've been to tell her that he knew how to do CPR too and if she needed to take a break, he could take over. He didn't particularly really like Nanashi, but he didn't hate him either. |
Celestine continued to just sit there, staring blankly at what was going on across the courtyard until his vision blurred in front of him and he realized that his own eyes were watering. Just as he'd come to like Nanashi the guy had to go and die on them all. He shook his head and looked up to Aamori for a moment before he finally pushed himself up again. He looked back to LaRae again and then lowered his eyes as he started moving again. He did know how LaRae felt losing someone that she loved; it'd just happened to him recently. He came to a stop on the other side of her and knelt down again, reaching over to place his hand on her back lightly while she clung to Kyran. His ears fell back and he glanced over to Nanashi again and watched for a moment while Hikari worked. He knew the chances of this actually working were pretty slim, he doubted that Nanashi would be waking up. When he blinked he felt the tears spill over his eyelashes and start to slide down his cheeks, but he just looked back to LaRae again and put his other hand on her other shoulder before leaning his head down to that his forehead was resting lightly on Kyran's hand as his hair slid forward, curtaining his face from view.
Hikari continued to focus only on what she was doing at the moment. She continued alternating between compressions and breaths for about two minutes before she finally checked his breathing again. She still wasn't getting anything. She huffed, almost in frustration. "Damn it Nanashi..." she said, as if aggravated that he wasn't reviving. She was bound and determined that he was waking up, even though already she was almost too tired to keep this up. She gave him two more breaths and then quickly jumped right back into doing the compressions again. She already had sweat beading up and rolling off of her forehead and she was breathing heavily again. Once she reached the thirty compression and went to breath into him again she had to wait a second to catch her own breath before she pressed her mouth against his and breathed. When she raised her head she coughed slightly, turning her face away from Nanashi, before she took a deep breath and put her mouth back to his again, breathing into him once more before she went back to the chest compressions again. If nothing else she could be very stubborn, she wasn't going to give an inch until she hit the ground next to him or someone shoved her out of the way. |
Kyran merely looked down at LaRae after she'd wrapped her arms around him. He sighed softly and just let her cry while she hid her face. He continued to stay where he was without moving. Though he did look up when Celestine came over. He just watched Celestine until he had lowered his head to rest lightly on his hand. He turned his head and looked back down to Hikari while she continued to work on Nanashi. He was starting to worry that the CPR wasn't going to be good enough since it hadn't done anything yet. Nanashi's heart hadn't been stopped that long enough Hikari started the CPR. He assumed that if Nanashi was going to come back, he would've by now, at least by the means of CPR. He wanted to ask if there was something else that could be done, especially since Hikari looked like she was getting more tired, but he didn't want to interrupt her. She shouldn't stop what she was doing unless someone else took over, or she just couldn't do it anymore and had given up on him.
LaRae didn't budge since Kyran hadn't pushed her away. She was glad that he was letting her cry on him. She didn't even move when she felt someone else's hand on her back. She did figure out who it was pretty easily without even looking back. She knew Nero wouldn't come near her, and Aamori's hands were always cold, almost like ice so she gathered it was Celestine. She was a little surprised that he'd even come over to her. She knew that he had started to kind of like Nanashi but by no means did that account for his coming over to her. Nero stared down at Hikari and Nanashi, not bothering to look over at the others even after Celestine had gone over. Right now he could really care less about them, he was a bit more concerned with getting Nanashi's heart beating again. He shook his head lightly when Hikari actually said a swear, now that wasn't very becoming of a lady. He continued to stand there, half tempted to shove her out of the way and take over but seeing as there was no sign of improvement yet he didn't want to jump in there and do the CPR and have nothing good come of it. He gave a sigh and stared down at Nanashi. "...Isn't there another way to try and jump start his heart?" He asked, to no one in particular. |
Celestine kept his head on Kyran's hand since he hadn't moved it and closed his eyes, causing his wet lashes to drag across the back of his hand. He finally shifted positions a little and leaned his head over against LaRae's lightly, nuzzling it a little. He didn't even consider anything else other than she was crying and he wanted to comfort her. He wasn't really the best at the whole comforting thing but he at least put forth a decent effort. He would have rubbed her shoulder if it didn't hurt right now. It was uncomfortable even touching her at all since she was warm.
Hikari continued to do the compressions, even though she was starting to get the sinking feeling that she wasn't doing anything but crushing his sternum. She heard Nero's question and her ear twitched slightly. Well yes, there was another way, but she didn't know how they would manage that exactly. "El-ectr-isit-y" she panted as she continued with the last few compressions and went back to try to breathe for him again. Celestine raised his head slightly when he heard Nero's question and Hikari's slightly delayed answer. He blinked and then looked up to Kyran. "You couldn't possibly make it worse..." he said quietly. It didn't get much worse than cardiac arrest. He looked back to LaRae and then shifted to wrap his arms around her, pulling back gently to try to get her to release Kyran and come to him so Kyran could get up. |
Kyran was glad that Nero had asked what he wanted to. Though hearing Hikari's answer to that, how did he know that they'd look at him. He'd never even thought about using his magic that way and giving it a little thought he guessed he couldn't really make it any worse. Well, except for the possibility of leaving burns on either Nanashi's body internally or externally. He sighed softly and glanced down to Celestine while he was trying to get LaRae to release him, then he glanced over at Hikari. "...I guess I can try." He uttered while waiting for LaRae to let him go.
LaRae wasn't really listening to anything that was being said, she was far too busy crying to try and hear anything. Her ears perked up slightly for only a moment when Celestine wrapped his arms around her and was trying to get her to let go of Kyran. She didn't want to let him go, not particularly because of who it was but she didn't want to lose another person to cry on. She did finally let go, but only because Kyran had lifted his hand up to push her away gently. Right now since she couldn't very well go cling to Nanashi, she went to the only other person that was right there. She turned and leaned herself against Celestine and continued crying. She didn't even care, one way or the other how Celestine felt about her using him to cry on. He could still move if he wanted to, she'd probably end up sitting with her face buried in her knees if she couldn't cry on him. Kyran hated to have to push LaRae away, especially since she didn't want to let go. But since he was the only one in the group who could produce electricity he kind of had to get loose. He stood up and started closer to Nanashi, moving over to the side Hikari was on. He guessed this would be simple enough to do, all he had to do was shock the heart a few times until it started beating again. He started to lean down a little, setting his hand on Hikari's shoulder. "You can stop now." He paused. "...If I'm going to try this, you have to move. And I reccomend on the other side a couple feet away. I've never tried something like this... so I don't want anyone else to be close enough to get shocked too." He explained. Nero wasn't surprised to hear that Kyran would try shocking Nanashi's heart. That guy didn't ever say no to something, at least not that he'd heard. He watched briefly as Kyran got loose of LaRae and moved over to Hikari. He listened quietly to what Kyran was saying and then started to move over to the other side of Hikari. She was quite obviously warn out, that was clear just by looking at her and listening to her pant out that answer. As soon as he got the chance he reached down and picked her up. He was surprisingly careful about it as well, shifting her so that he could put an arm under her legs and the other at her back. He did just as Kyran had said and started over to the other side of Nanashi, not all that far from Celestine and LaRae. When he stopped he even set her down gently. All the while not uttering a single word. Once he had put her down on the ground he stood up straight and turned to watch what Kyran was going to do. Aamori had just been standing off to the side, quietly watching. She still couldn't believe that Nanashi was dead and after hearing about the electricity she could only hope that would help more than the CPR. She listened to what Kyran had said and then started to head over to the other side like he had directed. She went and stood over near Celestine and LaRae. She had her fingers crossed that this might work. Kyran was kind of relieved to see that Nero had come over and removed Hikari. He knew that Hikari must have been tired, so she probably wouldn't have moved as fast as he would've liked and he also didn't want to put up with any resistance from her. He wasn't sure she'd give any, but even so, he didn't want to chance it. He sighed softly once the area was clear and looked down at Nanashi for a moment before he knelt down next to his chest. He reached over and set his hand down on Nanashi's chest briefly before lifting his hand and pulling part of his shirt off to the side so that he could set his hand down on his bare skin over his heart. Moving his shirt probably wouldn't have been so easy if it hadn't been ripped part way down the front. He gave another sigh and then shut his eyes. A few moments later his usual purple aura engulfed his hand and then started to travel up his arm, coming to a stop just around his shoulder blade. He was pretty sure it'd be safer for the lightning to pass through him, down his arm and into Nanashi rather than to let it hit him directly. Like usual, a small sized storm cloud had finally appeared in the sky just over where Kyran was. Though it probably would go unnoticed, except for the cracking that was coming from it as the lightning prepared to strike. He took a deep breath and then once he was ready a strong bolt of lightning shot down quickly and struck into Kyran's back, right at his shoulder blade and then forced it's way down through his arm and into Nanashi. It was probably a little weird to watch, but the lightning was so bright inside of his body that it could be seen faintly through his skin while it traveled down into Nanashi. He left his hand pressed against his chest until the bolt had gone through fully and then lifted his hand up to break contact. Having his own lightning pass through him didn't hurt that much, it only left a tingling feeling down his arm all the way to his fingers. He sat there for a moment, looking at Nanashi waiting to see if that helped any, if not then he was prepared to try again with a slightly stronger bolt. |
Celestine sighed softly when LaRae resisted being pulled away from Kyran. Apparently she wasn't listening to the conversation at all. Once she finally turned around and leaned against him he wrapped both arms around her and placed one hand lightly against the back of her head. He looked at her for a moment and then leaned his head over against hers again and ave her another little nuzzle. "...This may work." he said quietly in her ear. No matter how much he tried to dislike someone he always softened up when they were crying, and he couldn't even honestly say that he really disliked LaRae anymore after that talk earlier today. He looked at her until he heard someone else approaching and then glanced over to Aamori briefly. After a moment he looked back to Kyran, Hikari, and Nero to see what they were going to do, but otherwise remained still and silent, only moving his fingers a little every once and a while to stroke the back of LaRae's head.
Hikari was in the middle of doing another set of chest compressions when Kyran came over to her. She hadn't really been watching to see if Kyran was going to try it. Actually he hadn't even really thought of Kyran until he'd gotten over there. As soon as he told her she could stop she pulled her hands back and gasped again for a moment while she listened to Kyran, though he was telling her what she already pretty much knew. She certainly didn't want to be touching Nanashi while an electric current was flowing through him; that would really knock her on her butt. She started to try to get up when he told her that she needed to move, though she was so shaky that had Nero not taken the liberty of snatching her off the ground she probably would have fallen down again. She didn't complain while he carried her, though she did look up at him with a bit of confusion. For someone who supposedly hated her he certainly was willing to carry her when she needed it. When he sat her down again she tried to remain sitting up, though now that she wasn't actually doing anything the exhaustion caught up with her and she soon found herself leaning back against Nero's legs while she watched Kyran and struggled to catch her breath. She hardly even registered what she was leaning on, though she didn't really care either way. If Nero moved she was probably just going to fall over backwards. Her eyes wandered up to the sky for a moment when she heard the crackling then she squinted slightly when the lightning came down and strike Kyran. The sight of that made her breath catch in her throat for a moment, even though she knew that it wouldn't really hurt him. She just hoped it would work. A split second after the electricity hit Nanashi's body his muscles contracted a bit a bit, causing his back to arch slightly upwards toward Kyran's hand. That one jolt was enough to kick his heart back into gear. As the current died his body relaxed for a second, though just as Kyran was pulling his hand away he inhaled sharply and then coughed slightly, finally closing his eyes, which were now stinging something terrible. He took in another deep breath and then cracked his eyes open again, looking up to Kyran with a heavily dazed expression. He had no idea what had just happened, only that his chest hurt pretty badly and that he was exhausted. He blinked a couple of times, his eyes never opening more than halfway. He could barely even tell who he was looking at right now because his eyes were so glazed over. After a few more seconds his eyes rolled back and closed again, though he continued to breathe deeply. He hadn't even been awake for a full minute, but at least he was alive. He was still a mess, though. His hair was soaked with blood and sweat and his arms, legs, and back were coated with it as well. |
Nero glanced down briefly when he felt Hikari lean against his leg. Obviously she was too warn out to keep herself sitting upright on her own now that she wasn't preoccupied with doing something. He gave a soft sigh, not really bothered by the fact she was using him for support. He was nice when it came right down to it, and at a time like this, Hikari didn't need to deal with his meanie-act. She'd spent more than enough energy healing and then even when she was worn out she had pushed herself to do CPR to try and save Nanashi's life. She certainly had deserved to see his nice side, at least until someone else could help her out. He was a bit happy, for lack of better words, to see that some of the people in the group were willing to do what they could to try and save a life. He'd never admit it, but he was pretty close to feeling safe leaving his life in Hikari's hands. She honestly looked like she'd try to keep someone alive all the way down to her last breath and regardless of their clan. He lifted his head up and started to look back towards Kyran to watch what he was doing. He looked back just in time to see the lightning hit Kyran and travel down his arm and into Nanashi. Unfortunately though, he had to avert his eyes until the light died down from the lightning because it was just a little too bright for his eyes especially after they'd gotten so used to how dark it was with no light other than the light coming from the moons. He looked back once the light faded and stared, half awestruck when that actually worked and on the first try no less. He was a bit relieved to see that Nanashi's heart had been started again. He wasn't sure that he was ready to deal with a bunch of moping idiots if Nanashi had really stayed dead. He finally glanced down again to look at Hikari, mostly to make sure she was still awake and had seen that Kyran was able to get Nanashi's heart started again.
Aamori watched what Kyran was doing and had shut her eyes tightly for a moment when she saw that the lightning was going to hit him. She thought it was going to hurt him so she was a little surprised when she opened her eyes and he didn't even look like he was in pain. She tilted her head slightly and assumed now that maybe his own lightning didn't hurt him? Her breath caught when she heard Nanashi cough. She was kind of in shock that it had worked. She wasn't sure she really believed that it would work, she kind of thought it was hopeless; Especially since Kyran had never tried to use his magic for something like this. Well, it was probably a fifty, fifty chance of success and she'd rather have set herself up to expect the worse than to hope for the best and feel worse when nothing helped. She smiled slightly, seeing as Nanashi was breathing, even if it was heavily. At least he was breathing. She turned her head slightly and looked back down to LaRae and Celestine. "...LaRae, look..." LaRae practically tried to sink more into Celestine when he wrapped his arms around her though she did lift her head up a little when she heard what Celestine had said. She hadn't been paying attention to anything that was going on. She was far to upset to even think straight and the only thing she could even think to do was cry. She just dropped her head back down and continued to cry, though it had weakened considerably by now. Even though she wasn't paying attention, at all, to what Kyran was doing her ears did perk up at the cracking of lightning. She continued to just sit there with her head turned away even when she was pretty sure that she'd heard Nanashi cough. She'd stopped crying after hearing that and was now just full of the occasional sniffle. She was afraid to lift her head to look like Aamori had finally said. She didn't want to turn around to look and see that he wasn't alive. She wouldn't have put it past her ears to be playing with her head and she didn't want to look just for the fear that she had heard things and he was really still dead. Kyran set his hand down in his lap and gave a sigh of relief seeing that it had worked and Nanashi's heart had started beating again. He kind of couldn't believe it. He was so asking himself if he had really just done that. He stared down at Nanashi while he coughed, took a deep breath and then cracked his eyes open. He was definitely relieved seeing that he was still breathing even after he shut his eyes. He continued to stare down at him even after he looked like he'd gone to sleep, or passed out, which ever it was. He finally lifted up his hand again and had to shake it out a little. It was still tingling pretty bad and could easily be like that for a few minutes longer. He sighed softly and set that hand down before lifting the other and reaching over, setting his fingers gently to Nanashi's neck to make sure he had a steady pulse. He wanted to make sure that he wasn't just alive momentarily, he had to be sure the pulse stayed for awhile. The last thing he wanted was for Nanashi's heart to just give out and have to shock him again. While he held his fingers to Nanashi's neck he looked the guy over, noticing just how dirty he was. The poor guy really was in need of a bath, especially if they were going to put him into a bed to sleep and regain his strength. Not to mention he really didn't need to marinade in his own blood and sweat while he was resting. |
