Kanone smiled slightly, "No wonder to like to kick me around." he said with a soft laugh, joking of course. He shook his head again and then sighed, "Yeah, the guard told me what it was for. That's fine, everything I came to see if in here, anyway." he said with a slight smile. He sighed and stretched a little before he finally slipped his arms out of the pack that he was wearing and set it down beside him. It wasn't all that heavy but he was just tired of wearing it. He stretched his wings out a bit and then smiled warmly at Aamori again, "So... okay seriously, I'm about to starve I've been on the move all day and I can't cook to save my life." he whined and then laughed again. "I"m about ready to flame broil that cat." He blinked when LaRae came back over and then tilted his head slightly at the clothes she was carrying. "Holy...what happened here?" He said quietly. He could tell the clothes were half shredded, and he was pretty sure they were Nanashi's. "And hey are you not even going to say 'hi?'" he asked as he poked her in the side with the tip of his tail lightly. He'd seen her already and was sure that she'd seen him, but they hadn't exactly spoken yet.
Celestine wasn't paying too much attention to Kanone and the others, he simply backed up a bit and stared up at the roof, squinting his eyes a little. The sun was almost blinding him, but he could definitely tell that something was up there, though what exactly was debatable. He looked down to Nobu for a moment and then back up to the rooftop again. Whatever it was was gone. "...That's weird..." He muttered quietly to himself. The winged canine had noticed the one below her that seemed to have noticed her and froze for a few moments, though as soon as he looked away she backed up quickly away from the edge where she could no longer be seen and hunkered down. She didn't really want to go down there, but at the same time, she knew that she needed to make herself known soon since the blades were finally being put to use. She hadn't bothered to present herself to Kanone yet since he hadn't been using the blades and his father had never really mentioned her. She didn't like the idea of living in a house so she just stayed around the general area without making much of a disturbance. Celestine glanced at Nobu again for a moment and then bit his lip before he opened his wing and pushed himself off of the ground, flying up to land on the roof near where he was standing. From up here he looked around and was clearly able to see the other canine crouching in the center of the roof where he usually tried to hide. 'I think I just found your friend, Nobu.' he thought directly to him. 'This one seems a little shy.' Kyiri raised up on her hind legs when Zale moved his leg and reached for it, though she soon found herself flattened out on her stomach again when he put his paw on her back and held her down. Her tails swished violently behind her ans she tried to squirm out form under his massive paw, though she stopped when he licked her. A shudder ran through her before she started squirming for freedom again, more more interested in taking a bath than playing. |
Aamori smiled and shook her head lightly. "With the way you feed that cat, even if you managed to cook her I doubt there would be enough meat on those small bones to eat." She chuckled. "I'll go see what I can get for you in a moment." She said as she looked over to LaRae and reached out for the clothes when they were handed to her. She looked them over for a moment before looking back to her. "I don't really know if I'll need his coat. I guess after I talk to the person who makes stuff for me, I'll find out if this will be good enough." She told her. Honestly wasn't even sure if these beat up old clothes were even going to suffice. She hoped they would just because she didn't want to drag Nanashi off to see the person who made the clothes. Mostly because she didn't want to make Nanashi any more uncomfortable than he already was and she kind of doubted he'd willingly let someone from her clan measure him for new clothes. She glanced down at the clothes in her hands again for a moment and then started to move to set them down on the stone floor beside one of the arches. She'd heard Kanone's question about what happened and figured if she didn't answer it, LaRae would have to. Besides, she wanted to go get something for Kanone to eat before he did decide to eat one of the animals. "I'll be right back." She said as she glanced back over to LaRae and Kanone and then started to head for the kitchen.
LaRae nodded lightly to Aamori when she said she wasn't sure if she'd need his coat. "Just let me know, I guess." She said quietly. She glanced over to Kanone and smiled slightly. "Hello Kanone! It's nice to see you again so soon." She said while trying to sound overjoyed to make up for having not said anything before. "I'm sorry I hadn't said hi to you before. I'm a little preoccupied... or was..." She said and watched as Aamori had started to walk off. Well that meant she couldn't just go back to the room and leave Kanone hanging, for a lack of better words. She sighed softly. "...Something strange happened last night, I can't even begin to properly explain what happened ...so I'll just leave it at ...parts of him ...changed into that of ...a dragon ...and his arms and legs were hurting him ...which lead to him clawing himself, a lot." She uttered quietly and she obviously was not too happy with having that all brought back up. She really just kind of wanted to forget it even happened and move on from it. Though she didn't think that was going to happen. "...If you want any details, I'm sure Hikari or maybe Kyran can tell you more about it." Nobu hadn't managed a clear look at what was on the roof before it was gone. He glanced to Celestine when he muttered and then he looked back to the roof. His attention shifted quickly when Celestine opened his wings to go up onto the roof. At times like this he really did wish that he had wings too. He stood there and stared up at the roof quietly. After a moment his ears twitched when he caught what Celestine had thought to him. Some how he wasn't very surprised to hear that he'd found a friend up there. He wasn't sure that he'd call all the canine's friends at first. He'd never met this canine and it hadn't made itself known to Kanone so there was no guaranteeing that it was friendly, even if it was shy. Zale on the other hand, well, that guy was just way too outgoing and playful to not be friendly. He kind of hoped that Zale would get a master soon, and someone who was a bit more relaxed. He continued to stare up at the roof, curiously. '...Is it going to come down, or does it plan on staying up there forever?' Zale continued to keep his paw on Kyiri for a moment, making sure not to let her up just yet. He moved his head down closer to her again and got another couple good licks in before he moved his head again and finally lifted up his paw. He stood there and stared down at her wagging his tail slightly. He was pretty sure that got her back for licking him like she had, though the feel of his tongue could never compare to hers. He finally thought to look up for Nobu, since that was who he had been talking to. He turned slightly and looked out into the courtyard at him before moving out to stand beside him and look where he had been staring. '...Is something up there or are you trying to blind yourself?' |
Kanone glanced back to Aamori for a moment and nodded, smiling at her. He hoped she was coming back with food... His attention shifted back to LaRae when she greeted him and he laughed at her attempt to make up for not saying 'hi' before. "Haha Good to see you, too, LaRae." he said warmly. His smile faded slightly when he saw the way that her expression changed at the mention of his question. He stared at her while she answered him and then shook his head slightly. "...How in the hell does that even happen?" he muttered quietly. He sighed softly and then gave her a weak smile and wrapped his arm around her shoulders gently, giving her a light squeeze. "...I'm sorry, I....didn't know it was anything like that." he said quietly. "I hope he's alright now... I wanted to bother him a bit while I'm here, too." he said with a slight smile. He liked Nanashi well enough, he seemed like a really nice guy...a little flinchy but he seemed like he'd clam down once he got used to you being around. He pulled his arm back and offered her another smile. He could tell LaRae was very bothered by the whole thing, it showed all over her face, so he didn't plan to bug her anymore about it.
Celestine glanced off the roof to Nobu again. 'I don't know...' he replied and then looked back to his new roof buddy. 'Hey there... What's your name?' he tried asking, though he sighed when he didn't get an answer. 'Are you following Kanone?' Again, he didn't receive an answer. He sighed and shifted his focus back to Nobu again. 'It wont talk to me.' he informed him. After a moment he slowly moved forward a bit, moving over so that he only left about ten feet of space between himself and the other canine. He knew better than to walk right up to a timid animal and try to pet it. "Hey..." he said quietly, deciding to try to speak out loud and see if his response was any better. "Come on, it's okay... No one's going to hurt you. There are a couple of others down there waiting to meet you." he said softly as he held out his hand to her. The winged canine simply stared at the one who was speaking to her with out a response. She'd never met a dragon who could speak to her like she could speak to others, so she wasn't entirely sure what to make of him...or her...whichever it was. She was going to assume it was a boy...just because that's what her gut told her. When he moved closer she lowered herself a little further to the ground, laying her ears back slightly. She wasn't so sure that she really wanted him so close to her, though when he stopped and started speaking she raised her ears a little to listen and then slowly her head followed. She got onto her feet, just enough that she could walk and half crawled back to the edge, glancing down at the large purple canine and the thinner blue one beside it. Quickly she backed up again and looked back to the boy again and slowly...very slowly...edged her way over to him. She laid her ears back again as she approached him and then lifted her head a little, sniffing his hand before she gave it a tiny little lick. Celestine smiled slightly and then started to place his hand down on her head, though he stopped when she ducked her head away and backed up. "I'm not going to hurt you." he repeated softly without making any further attempts to touch her. She waited for a few seconds and then slowly raised her head again, pressing it against his palm lightly and nuzzling into his hand. He seemed trust worthy enough. Her tails slowly started to wave behind her as he rubbed her ears. Celestine laughed softly once she finally let him pet her. "Good girl..." he cooed softly while he rubbed her ears for a moment. Now that she'd moved closer and stood up he was fairly certain this was a female. She seemed a bit smaller than Nobu and Zale, much like Gesa had before. He continued to stroke her ears for a few minutes and then finally slipped his legs over the edge of the roof. "Come on down... It's alright." He said gently before he pushed himself off of the roof, using his legs to push away from the side of the building before he opened his wings and glided back over to where Nobu and Zale were, crouching in front of them before he turned around and looked up to the roof to see if she was following. She watched as the boy left the rooftop and stayed where she was until he landed. She only pinned her ears back with a soft whimper and backed up again while she tried to gather the nerve to go down. Finally she took a running dive and leaped off of the edge of the roof, opening her wings in the process. She glided down as well, though she carefully turned and swerved in the air so that she landed at least fifteen feet from any other person or canine. Now that she was on the ground she fidgeted uncomfortably and then laid her ears back and then slowly turned her heard in Kanone's direction. The genius had his back turned so he probably hadn't even seen her yet. She shook her head and then looked back to the other boy again and took a timid step in that direction. She was fine with him now but she wasn't so sure about those other two canines. They outnumbered and out-sized her a bit. Kyiri mewed when Zale started to slobber all over her and then shook herself off when he finally let her go. As soon as she was free she made a break for the courtyard and dashed straight over to the fountain. she hopped up on the ledge and dipped her paw into the water before she started to wipe at her face. Afrer a moment she reached down again to put her pay in the water but the shadow of the new arrival caught her eye and she looked up without pulling her paw back. A moment later she found herself submerged in the water at the base of the fountain. She mewed loudly when her head broke the surface and then reached up to latch onto the edge of the fountain and pull herself out. As soon as she scrambled out of the water she shook herself vigorously, casing her back legs to slip right back into the water. She climbed out again and then hopped down onto the grass, shaking her drenched coat off. Now that she was completely soaked she looked even smaller than usual. After another few shakes she sat down and started licking herself to try to dry herself off a little faster. Well...at least she wasn't covered in drool anymore. |
Aamori went straight into the kitchen once she reached the door and made her way up to the counter. She wasn't surprised to see the pile of dishes she had left in here earlier were already taken care of. She smiled a little and waited at the counter while watched the two cooks working. Neither one of them had noticed her right away, though the minute they did they had both apologized like crazy and asked her what she wanted. Since it was just past lunch she was pretty sure that they'd still have something from that left, and still hot, or at least warm. At times like this she did love that cooks had to feed quite a few people at the lunch and dinner hours because there was usually food left over and you didn't have to wait for food when you were hungry. She couldn't help but smile when she saw the plate that was set down in front of her. Kanone sure did pick a good lunch to come visit on, especially if he wanted fish. There was a pretty decent sized grilled fish fillet along with grilled mixed vegetables. This was actually her favorite way to have fish cooked, but she did have other things that she needed to do so she'd just try and eat later. She continued to stand there glancing down at the plate while she waited for the cook to return with a glass of water. Once he'd come back with the water she reached down and picked everything up after thanking him and then headed back out to the courtyard so she could give the food to Kanone.
LaRae gave a sigh. "...I'm not sure myself ...but it happened." She uttered quietly. She tried to at least brush the thought aside for now, after all Nanashi was alive and better now so it didn't really matter. "...It's alright." She paused. "You didn't know. He is doing better today it seems. He's just really tired, I don't think he'll be up and around today and I think it's unlikely that he'll be moving around tomorrow." She sighed quietly. "I doubt he's up for company while he's like this... so hopefully he'll be back to normal before you leave." She said and started to back up a little. "I'm sorry to cut this so short, but I'd really like to let Nanashi know I was able to get his things." She said and then started to turn around. She paused however while she was turning, when she spotted two more canine's than she remembered. "...When ...did they start ...multiplying?" She asked rather quietly while she looked between the blue one and the pale green one, oddly enough with wings. Nobu didn't bother answering Zale, mostly because he'd asked a silly question. He just stared at him for a moment before he looked back up at the roof. When he heard Celestine say that it wouldn't talk to him he shook his head lightly. If it was shy like he had said, he supposed that made sense. Besides, not every canine was willing to say a word to you even if you could talk the same way they did. Zale was probably an exception, he seemed like he'd talk to anyone that would listen. He continued to stand there and wait, curious to see if Celestine could manage to get it to come down from the roof. His ears perked slightly when he caught sight of the canine looking down briefly. Though as fast as it had looked down it was gone again. Zale tilted his head a little when Nobu did nothing but stare at him. He lowered his head slightly and then after a moment he turned his head up to stare at the roof like Nobu was doing. He continued to stare, just about bored with it. He thought about going to play with the cat instead but he caught sight himself of the other canine and his ears and tail perked up. His tail swayed back and forth a little and he was growing more and more impatient, especially after the canine had moved away where he could no longer see it. He was having trouble standing still and he'd started to stand up on his hind legs pawing at the roof. He wanted to go up there, unfortunately he wasn't gifted with flight. He finally dropped down onto all fours again and looked over at Nobu. 'Is it going to come down?' Nobu looked back over at Zale for a moment when he started getting antsy and shook his head lightly. It was obvious that Zale was going to be a problem if this canine was indeed shy like Celestine said. He started to look back up at the roof about the time Celestine was heading down and then he glanced back to Zale. 'I'm not sure.' He answered shortly. Though Zale's question was soon answered by the canine it self when it glided down off the roof. Not once while the canine was up there had he even questioned how it was up there, so he felt rather silly for not guessing it had wings. He turned and stared at it for a moment not bothering to move any more than he already had. He at least was smart enough not to try and approach it if it was shy. He stood there looking it over briefly before he sat down where he was and then laid down on the ground while keeping his head raised. He figured that laying down like this was probably the best way to assure it that he meant no harm. Ordinarily he might have tried talking, but if that didn't work with Celestine he wasn't sure it would work with him, at least not right away. Zale looked at Nobu when he said that he wasn't sure if it would come down. He looked back up when the canine did finally come down and land on the other side of courtyard. Already he was even more impatient than he was before. He wanted to rush over there but he caught how Nobu had laid down like he had and he tried his hardest to stay where he was. Nobu must have done that for a reason, one that he was unaware of. He looked back out at the other canine and continued to wag his tail behind him. He was staring more or less at it's wings, it really, honestly had wings! Something he had wanted sometimes, but he wasn't sure he'd give up the ability to swim like he could for wings. He could only manage to keep himself standing there for so long before he finally caved and practically bounced over in it's direction. 'I can't believe you have wiiinnggss!' He exclaimed excitedly. 'That's sooo cool!' |
Kanone nodded to LaRae when she said that Nanashi probably wouldn't be up for visitors. "Ah...well that's alright, I'm sure there will be plenty of time." he said lightly. After all, he did intend to come with them, and Celestine alone wasn't going to be enough to stop him. He nodded again with a pleasant smile when LaRae said that she wanted to go return Nanashi's things. "Oh yeah, that's fine." he said lightly. He was about to scurry off in the direction that Aamori had gone until he heard LaRae. "Huh?" he turned around and then blinked when he saw the third canine in the arena. He stared at it for a long moment and then looked over to Celestine as if about to ask him who that one was, but somehow...he had a feeling that one was the one that Zale had been asking about before...considering it's color and wings. That one matched Celestine pretty well all the way around. Finally he started to move forward slowly out into the courtyard and tilted his head slightly. "Umm..." He wasn't too sure weather to go out there or not. He could tell just by that one's stance that it was pretty skittish.
Celestine watched Zale as he squirmed around where he stood and sighed. "Zale, lay down or something..." he muttered quietly, though the pooch didn't seem to hear him...that or just wasn't listening. He shook his head and then sighed heavily when he took off bounding toward the new arrival. "Zale!" he called after him, sounding a little annoyed. He looked back to Nobu, 'How do you even put up with that one?' The winged one seemed to relax a little when the larger looking purple one laid down, though she kept a wary gaze on the energetic blue one. That one seemed more likely to come after her than the other one did. Just as she thought that he decided to come hurrying toward her and immediately she lowered her head close to the ground with her ears laid back and all five of her tails almost tucked between her legs as she scurried back. She wasn't really paying much attention to what he was saying, she just wanted to get away from him. She was fine until she backed over the little feline, then she yelped quietly in surprise and opened her wings, flapping them rapidly to lift herself off of the ground quickly, probably just before Zale would have been able to pounce her if he hadn't got the hint that she wasn't in a playful mood. She few just high enough in the air that Zale or anyone else would have a hard time reaching her from the ground. Her wings were flapping so quickly that they almost blurred as she hovered there like a hummingbird in midair. Her ears remained laid back and she drew her back legs and tails up so that she almost looked like a puppy that someone was holding by the nap of the neck. Her gaze shifted to the boy that had been talking to her again and she whined. "Tell him to leave me alone!" she pleaded, though her voice was very soft and whiskery, almost like a small breeze rustling through the leaves. If Zale or Nobu were listening they probably could have heard her as well, since she was trying to make sure that Celestine heard her. Celestine sighed again and stood up, "Zale, get back over here, you crazy hound. You're scaring her!" he told him as he motioned with his hand for him to come back. He turned his attention back to the one in the air. 'He wont hurt you...he just wants to play.' Kyiri hissed when the canine suddenly backed over her and knocked her flat on her back. as soon as it flew up she rolled onto her feet again and shook herself off before she noticed the five bushy, swaying tails in her face. She leaped up and smacked at one, though she missed as the thing quickly flew out of dodge. She stared up at the other animal for a moment and then shook herself off again and resumed her bath where she had left off. |
Aamori tried her best to hurry back with the plate of food and glass of water. Though she did move a little slower considering her arm was bruised and a little sore and she really didn't want to drop anything. She'd apparently hurt her arm a little more than she originally thought, when she fell down those stairs. When she finally made it back to where they had been standing she lifted her eyes to see how far Kanone had gone since she was bringing the food for him. She stood there for a moment after she saw Kanone though her eyes shifted again when she noticed the third canine. She didn't recognize it and of course she hadn't noticed the blades that Kanone had. Weapons weren't exactly the first things she looked at when she saw someone she hadn't seen in awhile. She was interested in the new canine but she felt a little stuck on one track until she did something with the food she was carrying. "...Uhh ...Kanone?" She paused. "...What do you want me to do with this?" She asked while she glanced back down at the plate again and her stomach growled a little.
LaRae stared for a little while longer, just watching. She didn't bother staying that much longer. She did have something else that she'd rather be doing and she'd wasted enough time on other things. She sighed softly, surely she'd find out what was up with those other two canine's from someone else a little later. She started to head back down the hall towards the room that her and Nanashi had been using. While she was walking she reached down into her pocket and pulled his things out, looking them over slightly trying to make sure they weren't damaged. Though, that was kind of hard to do when she'd seen the scale only once, maybe twice and she'd never seen the ring before. Before she reached the door she made sure to scavenge her pocket for her pass. She slipped it out and then tucked it under the other things she was carrying before reaching out to put her free hand on the door knob to open it. She slipped inside and shut the door quietly behind her before she started making her way over to his side of the bed. She set the pass and his other things down on the night stand and then look over at him and smiled softly. "I'm sorry it took so long, but I found everything in one piece." She said quietly, a little unsure of whether or not he was awake. Nobu stared in disbelief when Zale actually took off after the other canine. Of course he would... after all he'd pounced him the second he laid eyes on him so what was stopping him from jumping all over that one too? He shook his head and looked up at Celestine when he asked how he even put up with Zale. 'I haven't known the guy long enough to put up with him...' He pointed out. In all actuality, Celestine had known Zale longer than he had. He turned his head back towards Zale and then started to get to his feet once the other had flapped her wings and moved higher into the air to avoid Zale. Zale continued excitedly bouncing all the way over to where the other had been even though it had moved into the air. He stood where she had been and started to get up on his hind legs again, jumping a little while he tried to reach it. That was really rather difficult considering it had moved considerably out of his reach. By now, looking up at it like he was he was certain that this one was a girl. He had assumed that before considering her size, but he just wanted to be sure. He continued to stand on his hind legs, pawing up at her and whining a little since she wasn't coming down and had she spoken about wanting him to leave her alone. He was pretty much ignoring Celestine. He had heard him but he couldn't see how anything could be afraid of him. Nobu glanced over at Celestine briefly before he shook his head. Leave it to Zale to ignore Celestine and even the girl asking to be left alone. After hearing her plea it was obvious she was a girl. Like Zale he had his assumption but wanted to be sure. He started over towards Zale a little cautiously. Mostly because he didn't want to move so much, so quickly that it scared her off. When he reached Zale he waited for him to get back on all fours and growled at him a little. 'The lady doesn't want to play with you right now Zale, give her a break already.' He told him before reaching out with his paw and smacking Zale in the head hard enough to force him to lay down on the ground. '...Now stay down.' He said as he started to lift his paw up from Zale's head. |
Kanone tore his gaze away from the flying animal long enough to look back to Aamori. "Ahh...um..." he stared at her for a moment and then smiled weakly when he heard her stomach. "Here..." he reached over to take the plate from her and then sat down where he was, setting his back against the arch before he reached up to take the glass of water. "Thanks, Aamori." he said with a warm smile, though his gaze drifted back to the new arrival in the courtyard again. Well...he had his hands full now so unless it came over here he guessed he'd be getting acquainted later. He wasn't going to just toss down the food in favor of something more interesting after Aamori had gotten it for him. Not to mention he really was hungry and that fish was making his mouth water. He finally turned his eyes back to the food and started to dig in, eating about as fast as one could without looking like a slob.
Celestine sighed heavily and remained where he was for now while Nobu went to get Zale under control. Once Nobu had gotten Zale to lay down he moved forward slowly and looked up to the canine again. "Come on down, it's alright." he said softly in a calm, soothing tone. He certainly could pull a 180º given half a chance. He was nothing but pissed off just a few minutes ago, but now he sounded like he could have been talking to a shy little kid. He moved over to where Nobu and Zale were and knelt down beside them, placing one hand gently on each canine's head and rubbing his ears gently. "Look, they're friendly." He knew these canines were intelligent but all in all he still treated them about like animals, this new one especially since she was being so shy. He was just trying to establish some trust so she wouldn't keep diving into the air like that. The canine finally started to lower herself from the air once Zale had stopped jumping at her and the boy had gone over to the other two. She touched down on the ground a good ten feet away from them and turned around slowly to look at them, though her ears were still laid back slightly. She was nervous being in here, that much was obvious. Finally she started to inch forward, keeping her head slightly lower than her shoulders. About three feet in front of them she stopped again and shifted positions uncomfortably for a few seconds before she turned her head away so that she wasn't looking at anyone. '...H...hi...' she whispered quietly. Nanashi was on the verge of sleep when the door opened, alerting him a little. He didn't move until LaRae started to speak. Once she opened her mouth he opened his eyes again slightly and then rolled over to look at her, blinking a couple of times as he rubbed his eyes. He smiled when he saw her and then nodded. "...Thank you...I'm glad." he said quietly. He looked over to the night stand and then blinked when he saw the ring. He hadn't taken that out in so long that he'd pretty much forgotten about it. The thing had more or less gotten shoved down into the very corner of his pocket where it was hard to reach while the pants were on so he hadn't really bothered with it in forever. He slowly sat himself up a little and reached over to pick up the ring. He stared down at his palm and the ring for a few moments. It was a golden ring with a red gemstone in the center. Inside the gem was a carving that looked similar to an eye. "...This...this was still in my pocket?" he asked quietly, looking up to her again. |
Aamori continued to stand there holding the plate and glass until Kanone took them. Once her hands were free she placed a hand over her stomach gently then shifted slightly and looked back over at the other canine. She was surprised enough knowing that there was another like Nobu, but now there were four all together. She assumed that this meant there were at the very least seven in all. Considering the four she'd seen seemed to all be of different elements. She watched the canine for a moment longer before looking back down at Kanone. "...Since that canine is here, I'd assume you have blades like Kyran's?" She asked curiously. Had she thought about it though, she probably could've answered her own question by looking at the blades he was carrying. But as per usual she didn't think to look for herself.
Zale practically flattened out on the ground when Nobu hit him so hard. He squirmed while Nobu had his paw on his head and as soon as Nobu had removed his paw he started to try and stand up. Though he stopped as soon as he remembered he'd been told to stay down. Staying put was going to be a lot harder for him than it may have looked. He really did want to rush over and check her out, especially because she was so much more different than he or even Nobu. When she finally touched down to the ground again he wanted to get up even more but tried to keep himself situated. His tail started swaying back and forth and picked up pace a little when he heard her whisper. 'Ohh! oh! She talked!' He whined quietly while he continued to try and keep himself laying on the ground. Nobu stared down at Zale for a few moments, at least until Celestine came over and rubbed their ears. He lifted his head slightly and then looked over at the other canine after she'd touched down again and started to slowly make her way closer. He didn't move any more than needed to shift his weight a little and then shook his head slightly when he heard what Zale said. Well of course she could talk, they all could. He could tell just by the way that she was acting and the way she spoke that she hadn't yet been around Kanone. Surely if she had she wouldn't be as shy as she was, after all Kanone was anything but that. 'Hello, I'm Nobu and this abundance of energy is Zale.' He said as he motioned his head towards Zale. LaRae smiled a little when he rolled over and continued to stand there watching him as he sat up and took the ring from the night stand. She'd never seen the ring before now so she guessed that it had to have still been in his pocket, there really was no other explanation for it. She nodded her head a little and then started around the bed to the other side, stretching her arms a little in the process. "It was with your other things when I got them." She uttered as she went to sit down on her side of the bed. She sat with her back to the pillows and scooted back a little so that she was propped up. She looked back over at him once she was comfortable. "...Is there some story behind that ring, or is just some ring?" She asked rather curious. Considering that the things in his pockets were important to him she kind of thought it may have been more than just some old ring. |
Kanone looked up to Aamori when she started to ask about the blades. He blinked and then set his fork down and then put the plate aside and stood up. "...I have these..." he said a little unsurely as he motioned to his belt. He inserted his hand down into one of the metal straps and grabbed onto the handle before he drew the blade from it's sheath, revealing the brilliant silver blade and the old symbols that were engraved in the metal. "I didn't really see Kyran's blades..." He said simply as he flipped the blade back so that it was lining his arm like it was supposed to. "My father...left these when he died. This is the first time I've ever really brought them out anywhere. He didn't bother to clasp the arm bands around his wrist and arm since he wasn't actually using it right now for anything. "I don't get it..do these have something to do with the dogs? That's the second time..." he started and then remembered that no one was supposed to know the dogs could talk, so he just cut himself off on that next sentence. "I don't get it." he said simply as he looked out to the green canine again.
Celestine smiled slightly when he heard her speaking again and then shook his head slightly. 'I'm Celestine.' he told her since he couldn't remember if he'd already mentioned it or not. He glanced at Zale and shook his head slightly when he saw the way that he was wiggling around. "Zale..." He sighed and then looked back to the new arrival again. 'What's your name, girl?' he asked gently. The female canine looked at them and raised her head a little when she heard all of them. Zale amused her a little, she just hoped that he didn't try to tackle her again. '....I'm......Esen....' she whispered again. She looked at Zale again and her tails swayed gently behind her, though they all remained low and near the ground. '....H-hi....Zale... s-sorry...I ran...' she mumbled quietly. She seemed almost embarrassed. Some guardian she made, running from one of her own. She looked at Nobu again and then slowly stepped forward again so that she was standing in front of Celestine. She really wished that she'd been the one that had her blades, he seemed more...dependable than the other one. Kanone didn't even know what he had and probably didn't even really know how to use them. Besides Celestine seemed a lot more approachable than Kanone as well. "Esen.... the wind?" he asked quietly with a slight smile at the name's meaning. "...I like it.' Nanashi continued to stare at the ring for a few minutes. "...I...I don't...know I...I can't really remember..." he said quietly. He'd had that ring for a very long time, but he couldn't remember where he'd gotten it at all. He started to closed his hand around the ring and then closed his eyes for a moment. As soon as he closed his eyes he caught a brief flash of a memory, though it was fuzzy and soundless almost like he was watching a silent movie reel. All he caught was the body of a woman jerking the ring from her finger and shoving it into his hand as she pushed him toward the back of the room. He didn't catch sight of her face, but he somehow knew that it was his mother. His eyes shot open wide again and his head shot up as if he was almost expecting to find himself somewhere else. He sat there breathing heavily for a second before he opened his hand again. "...This...this was...my mother's....it was her ring.... but...I can't remember why she gave it to me..." he said quietly. He knew it must have happened that night. That was one night that he couldn't remember clearly. He remembered it in bits and pieces or in tiny flashes as something triggered it, like the sound of thunder. He sighed quietly and then took the ring and slowly slipped t down onto the ring finger of his right hand. "....It fits now..." he muttered quietly. Nanashi had relatively slender fingers so it wasn't hard to see how a woman's ring could fit him. |
Aamori watched as he started to set his plate down and get to his feet. She looked down at his belt when he motioned there and finally noticed the blades. She sure felt a little silly now since she hadn't seen them before. She looked the blade over a little once he had unsheathed it and then looked back at him. "I haven't really seen Kyran's blades up close, but they look like the same concept, at least." She listened quietly to where he'd gotten the blades and then glanced over at the canine's when he said that he didn't get it. "I can't explain in great detail like Kyran probably could, but if your blades are like Kyran's then I'd guess that winged canine protects those blades." She paused. "At least that's what Kyran said Nobu does." She said as she looked back over at him. "Nobu pretty much follows Kyran around, pretty closely unless we're somewhere like this where it's safe. But even then, if Kyran were to leave with the blades in tow... Nobu wouldn't be that far behind." She gave a soft sigh. "You'd probably get more useful and accurate information out of Kyran since he knows the most about them."
Zale lifted his head a little when he heard Celestine say his name though his attention was easily right back on Esen since she'd spoken some more. He started to slowly get back to his feet, his tail wagging energetically behind him the entire time. Once he was standing up straight again he was having trouble standing still, like usual. He still wanted to play with her but he was trying to behave himself. Especially with Nobu right there, he really didn't want to get hit in the head like that again. 'She talked again! And to me!' He was clearly more than excited about that, if that was even possible. He was probably more happy about it since she hadn't so easily spoken to anyone like Nobu did. Not to mention it was nice being the first she addressed by name. He lowered his head back down to the ground and kept his rear in the air while his tail wagged behind him. 'You didn't run... you flew!' He paused. 'What's it like to fly!? I wish I had wings... yeah... I wish I could fly too.' He started to stand up straight again, though his tail still wagged behind him. Nobu looked to Esen once she'd given her name and then apologized to Zale. He didn't really think she needed to apologize, if anything Zale could stand to be the one apologizing. 'It's nice to meet you, Esen.' He turned his head slightly and looked over at Zale. Honestly, could that guy sit still for five minutes? He shook his head slightly after hearing Zale go on about Esen's wings. Somehow he had a feeling this wasn't going to be the last he heard out of Zale about her wings. He didn't share the same fascination with her wings as Zale did. Sure he thought they were neat and they made her unique but they all had something that made them unique, especially to their element. LaRae nodded her head slightly. She was still a little curious about the ring since it was in his pocket and supposedly important but if he couldn't remember anything about it than there was no point in pursuing an answer further. She glanced back over to him noticing that he'd shut his eyes and was just sitting there. Just as she was about to open her mouth to see if he was alright his eyes shot open. She still wanted to ask if he was alright since he was breathing a bit heavier than before but refrained again from asking once he'd opened his hand and continued to tell her who's ring it was. She glanced back down at the ring again for a moment when he slipped it onto his finger. "...It's kind of nice that you have some things to remember your mother by." She commented quietly. Even if he couldn't remember the reason why she gave him the ring, at least he had it. |
Kanone stared at her for a moment and then sighed softly as he flipped the blade over and sheathed it again. "...That's strange...I've had these things for years and I've never seen that...guardian once. Why wasn't it standing in front of my closet or something?" he said with a half smile. He looked out again and shook his head. "Well...looks like Celestine's made some new friends. Heh, go figure." He said as she shook his head and sat back down. Leave it to Celestine to make friends with the 'guardian' of his blades before he even knows it's name...or gender for that matter. He sighed softly as he picked up his plate again and resumed eating, a little more slowly this time. "I guess I'll be trying to track down Kyran later and ask him about all of this..."
Esen nodded to Nobu when he spoke to her. '...It's...nice to...meet you, too......Nobu.' she whispered and then looked at Zale again shyly, though she couldn't help but...giggle a little at his repeated comments about her wings. '...It's...fun to fly....but...you can swim...' she pointed out in that same whispery voice, 'I can't get that close to the water for long.' She looked back to Nobu again and then looked back to Celestine again before her gaze shifted over to Kanone. She shifted positions slightly and then looked back to Celestine again. '...You two are...related, aren't you?.... I-is...he....nice?...' she asked quietly. She was obviously still a little afraid to get near the others just yet. Celestine scoffed quietly at Esen's remark about not being able to swim. He certainly knew that feeling well. 'You're not alone there...' he thought as he rolled his eyes, again reminded of his little dip in the bath last night. He smiled slightly when she asked him about Kanone. 'Yeah...we're related...in a manner of speaking. It's complicated. But...yeah...we're cousins. .....Why don't you go introduce yourself and see if he's nice or not? He's harmless. Stupid...but harmless.' He placed his hand on Esen's head gently. "Go on." Esen looked at Kanone again, noticing that he seemed mildly annoyed even from here. She looked back to Celestine and whined softly before she gently closed her teeth over this sleeve and gave it a gentle tug. She didn't want to go by herself. She wasn't so sure that she was afraid of Kanone or just afraid to know what kind of person he was. She knew once she spent enough time around him that personality would start to change and she really didn't want to change that much. Nanashi looked back to LaRae again and almost smiled at her as he settled back into the pillows again tiredly. "...I guess so..." he said quietly before he closed his eyes. "...But...there are some things that...I do not want to remember..." he said quietly, "...and I have a feeling...that...how and...why I have this...is one of them." He looked back to LaRae again and sighed softly as he rolled onto his side, trying to get a little closer to her. "...Something happened a long time ago... I don't know what...I just see....pieces every now and then and...I really wish I didn't." His memory was fairly good. "I can remember my mother and how things were a little...even though I was barely three when she died I guess my mind just developed faster than my body did... but even still... At some point there's just his...hole. It's like something just knocked out pieces of my life from my mind... and occasionally I just find fragments of it buried somewhere... But I don't..think I want to know what was in that hole. Before that...I was happy with her..... but after that space...she was gone...and I stuck living with my aunt and my spoiled cousin." He sighed softly and then looked up at LaRae, looking a little guilty. "...I'm sorry I...didn't mean to complain.... You haven't fared much better..." he said quietly. |
Aamori glanced back over at the canine after Kanone made his comment about why it hadn't been standing in front of his closet. "...If the blades aren't being used I don't think they have to be right on them. If they were in your closet for years than I doubt it would've wanted to sit in your room until you felt like using them for something." She said as she looked back at him. "Not to mention with your memory for feeding animals..." She trailed off with a small chuckle. She shifted her glance momentarily over to Celestine before looking back down at him once he'd sat down. "...He's an animal magnet ...you of all people should know that, so of course he's made friends already." She thought briefly about commenting that at least the majority of Kanone's friends weren't animals but refrained for now at least. She turned her eyes back towards the clothes that she had set down on the ground when she remembered that she still had to get that taken care of, along with getting a new holster and she really didn't want to wait too much longer for Hisako or Yoichi to show up. She had no idea how long the place was going to be open that she wanted to go to. She looked back to Kanone. "Last night was pretty rough... so Kyran might still be asleep. You shouldn't have to look very far to find him." She said before moving over to pick up the clothes that she had set down on the floor.
Zale tilted his head slightly when Esen pointed out that he could swim. He lifted up one of his paws and inspected the fin-like fur at his haunch like he'd never seen it before in his life. 'Huh.. I guess I can swim.' He joked as he set his paw back down. 'Even so.. flying sounds a little nicer. I bet flying over water is rreeaallly nice!' He still managed to keep himself where he was even if his tail was wagging enough it could probably tip him over. He did have to admit though, he was starting to get a little tired. He'd done quite a bit of swimming today on top of the excitement from meeting both Nobu and Esen. He was about ready for a nap and since Esen was going to eventually make it over to see Kanone he started to lay back down where he was standing. Nobu couldn't possibly relate to Esen with her reason for not getting too close to water, but he too couldn't get too close to water. His reason was completely different though. He'd practically fizzle out from the water and send an electric current through the water surrounding him. Thankfully though his only problem was with pools of water and torrential down pours that would leave him soaked in no time at all. Once Esen's attention had shifted over to Kanone he was going to find something else to do for awhile. It was important that she meet the person who had her blades and conversing with either he or Zale could always wait, especially since it seemed like she might be around for a little while. He was a little surprised to see Zale had laid down on the ground already. He had half thought he'd have to fight him to leave Esen alone but it actually looked like Zale might have been a little tired. He shifted slightly and then went ahead and laid down on the ground where he was. If anything laying where there was some sun was a little nicer at the moment than laying cooped up in a bedroom with only one window. LaRae sat there quietly listening to him, only glancing away from him occasionally while he spoke. Nanashi hadn't spoken too much about anything from his past so when there was a little something to listen to, she at least tried to listen intently. She smiled slightly when she saw that he had rolled over and was trying to move a little closer to her. She was pretty comfortable the way she was sitting so she didn't really want to move too much. She did lift her arm up a little and move it out of the way in case he wanted to scoot close enough to be able to snuggle against her. She continued listening to him until he was finished and then sighed softly. "...I think I'd rather have a pieced together or even painful memory than to have no memory at all." She commented quietly. At least he could remember some things from when he was little, that was by far more than she had. "...In all actuality, I think I'd like to be able to remember." She paused and sighed again. "My memories don't even start until ...I was about six. Everything before that ...it's just not there. It's like ...I didn't start living until the first day I can remember." She uttered quietly then gave a long pause. "...How ...sad is it ...I was told that I ..killed my own ..parents ...and ..I can't even ..remember it ..?" She wasn't really looking for an answer, she had her own and she thought it was pretty pathetic. Her, at a young age, killing both of her parents along with the whole small town they lived in and she couldn't remember a thing. Not even her parents faces, the color of their eyes, their smiles. Nothing. It was blank. "...My first memory, ever, as far back as I can go..." She paused and heaved a sigh. "...Was the day ...I sat through my ...horns being sawed and snapped ...from my own head." She muttered quietly. She hated to admit that was the first thing she remembered, but it was and everything after that wasn't much better. Being stuck with a foster family who hates you wasn't very nice and the only bonus to the whole thing was being allowed to be friends with Aamori for awhile and it was nice when Renzo was actually friendly towards her. She was quiet for a moment before glancing back to Nanashi, briefly. "...We're kind of a ...depressing pair." She commented, considering neither of them had very happy upbringings. |
Kanone half smiled when she said that he was an animal magnet and then he laughed softly. "That he is... that's what I was telling that guard at the dock." He said with a soft laugh, "Poor guy I probably talked his ear off. I talk a lot when I get nervous. Today was my first time anywhere near the ocean or leaving my territory. Heh I wasn't even entirely sure I was going to right way for a while." he sighed softly and then looked back up to her again with a half smile. "Eh... I think I'll just let everyone sleep it off. She's here I guess it's not that important right now." he said simply as he glanced over to her. He could just ask her himself later. He glanced at the clothes again as Aamori picked them up. "...So what are you going to do with his clothes?" he asked simply as he tilted his head slightly. "Er...what's left of them anyway."
Celestine blinked when Esen grabbed onto his sleeve and then shook his head slightly as he stood up. "Alright, alright, I'm coming." he said quietly as he stood up, "Careful with that, I don't have anything else to put on." he said simply. He sighed when she immediately dropped his sleeve and ducked her head like he had scolded her and then sighed. "Hey, I'm not mad I just don't holes in my sleeve." he said softly as he rubbed her head again. "Come on." He took a couple of steps and then glanced back over to Zale and Nobu again when he noticed them laying down. He sighed softly and then started moving toward Kanone again, stopping when he realized that Esen was just standing there. "...I'm not going for you." he said with a half smile. Esen whined quietly when Celestine told her to be careful with his shirt, obviously taking his words as a sign that she'd done something wrong. She was still skittish even around him so that had shaken her a little. Finally after Celestine stopped for the second time she started to over to Kanone behind him again moving slowly and cautiously. She still wasn't too thrilled about this whole thing. She just hoped that Kanone had a nice personality and one that she wouldn't mind sharing. After this...all she really wanted to do was go fall out somewhere. She had just flown all the way from Kanone's village to the docks and then from the docks to this building, so she was pretty pooped herself. Nanashi did take the invitation to snuggle up against LaRae's side when she moved her arm and he listened to her just as silently and intently as she had listened to him. At her last words he smiled slightly and let out a quiet laugh. "...We are." he agreed quietly, "...But that is why we...understand each other so well." he said quietly. He slowly pushed himself up onto his elbow and leaned his head over hers before he raised his other hand to her face and placed his hand against her cheek. "...I don't believe...what people tell me..." he said quietly, "...Sometimes...when something terrible happens...our mind will block it out to protect itself... Something happened to you...something terrible....but I...I can't believe that you have killed." He said before he moved his hand down to hers. "...I've seen you...the real you........I'm never seen blood on your hands." he said quietly. "...It wasn't you...no matter what they say. I will never believe it was you. Your eyes...still tell me you are innocent." He of course couldn't be 100% certain that LaRae had not done as they had said, but as he had stated, he had seen her true self. Even if her memories weren't there for her they were there, somewhere... Memories never just went away completely, or at least from what he had come to understand. They could be hidden...but not erased. He of course hadn't tried to uncover her hidden memories as they were not his to see, but still something in her screamed innocence to him. She didn't have the eyes of someone who had killed...even unintentionally or unknowingly. After a moment he finally closed his eyes and started to move back a little though he rather suddenly laid his head on her chest. "...Sorry... I'm still a little dizzy..." he said quietly. He started to shift positions to put his head back on the pillow beside her so that he wasn't half laying on her like he was though he was kind of slow moving. He was actually pretty comfortable where he was laying but he doubted LaRae really wanted his head right there. He just didn't want to lift it up again to move it. It still sent a little stab of pain through his head every time he sat up and he'd done that more than enough for right now as far as he was concerned. |
Aamori adjusted the clothes over her arm before looking back to Kanone and smiling a little. "You talk a lot when you're nervous? Really? I hadn't noticed." She said and then laughed quietly. She'd guessed something like that considering how much he'd changed topics on her when he first got here. She nodded lightly when he said he'd just let everyone sleep. Well, that certainly was better for everyone and she had no doubt that they'd all be up sooner or later. Especially those who hadn't eaten, their stomachs were bound to get them out of bed eventually. She looked down at the clothes in her arms again when he asked about them and then sighed softly. "I was going to see if the place where I get my holsters and clothes made would make something new for Nanashi to wear." She paused. "I don't think these are going to last through much else... and they're rather poorly made compared to stuff from Kairava." She said as she looked towards the door and sighed quietly. She did want to get this taken care of quickly and waiting on someone to return to take her was slowly working it's way to the back of her mind. She'd much rather just go herself and get it done and over with than waste time standing here waiting when she was very capable of doing it herself. She glanced back to Kanone for a moment. "...I think I'm going to go see if the place is open. I shouldn't be gone that long and if you need anything, Celestine does kind of know his way around in here. At least to the important areas." She said as she started moving closer to the doors.
LaRae watched as he started to push himself onto his elbow and then place his other hand to her cheek. She smiled weakly and started to avert her eyes but rather easily she found herself staring back him while he continued to speak. She couldn't really debate one way or the other, whether she'd killed or not. Since she had no memory of it she wasn't sure and she naturally didn't really want to believe what she was told. But at the time, at that age, she could do nothing more than believe what she had been told. She looked away for a moment and sighed softly. Unfortunately so many years had gone by where she earnestly believed that she'd done something so heinous that his just now, for the first time ever, telling her that he didn't believe she'd killed wasn't going to make too much of a difference in what she believed. Thankfully she did have a tiny sliver of doubt in there somewhere so she didn't fully believe that she'd killed anyone. She looked back to him when she felt him suddenly lay his head on her chest. Her cheeks easily found a light pink hue and she stared at him for a moment after he apologized and then started trying to move. She finally moved her arm again and set it behind him so that he couldn't move back to where he had been any further. "...It's okay." She uttered quietly. "I don't mind, if you lay on me like that." She paused. "...After last night ...it'd be nice ...having you close." She added lastly. |
Kanone nodded slightly to her when she said where she was going and that she was heading out. "Alright." he said quietly. He didn't really plan to go anywhere for now so he didn't see himself bothering Celestine to play tour guide. It sounded like he was stuck here until he got that pass anyway. Once Aamori had started for the door he glanced over and happened to notice Celestine and the new arrival coming toward him. "Hey there..." He said as he set the plate down again, the fish on it already nothing but crumbs. He looked at the green canine and smiled slightly when he saw the way she was moving toward him. "Aww don't be shy, I don't bite." he said as he held his hand out to her. "Where've you been hiding, hmm?"
Esen looked at Celestine a little unsurely and stopped just short of Kanone's outstretched hand. She lowered her head again and whimpered quietly when he asked where she had been. She didn't suppose 'around' was a very good answer but that was about all that she had. Still she didn't try to speak to him. She somehow doubted that this one could hear her as easily as Celestine could even though he was talking to her like she could understand him. A lot of people seemed to do that to animals. Kanone sighed softly and leaned forward a little, aiming to rub her head, but she ducked away from him and backed away quickly. "Whoa whoa easy..." he said quietly,"Come on now, I'm not going to hurt you. What's your name?" Celestine sighed softly and knelt beside Esen again, gently placing his hand on her back again. "Kanone...you're horrible at this. Don't move so fast. Let her come to you." he said simply. He sighed again when he realized that she wasn't giving him an answer. 'Aren't you going to speak to him?' he thought to her, though he was starting to get a headache from talking to all three of them the way that he had been. His mind could only take so much. When he caught the slight shake of her head he sighed again. "...Her name is Esen." he said simply in answer to Kanone's question. Kanone blinked and looked at Celestine before he sighed, "Aw geez, you named her already?" he muttered quietly though he half smiled. "....Well...it's a nice name." he said quietly as he held his handout again and waited. "I didn't name her...that's just her name." he said simply. He sighed again and gave Eden a gently nudge. "Go on, Esen...he's harmless." he said again as he gave her another tiny push. Esen finally moved forward after much deliberation and urging from Celestine and licked Kanone's hand with her forked tongue, careful to make sure that it wasn't too wet before she did so. She then stepped forward and pressed her head against his hand. Her tails started to wag a little while he rubbed her ears and then she slowly laid down and rolled onto her back while he scratched her furry under belly. Well...she could definitely get used to that. Nanashi blinked when he felt her arm behind him, stopping him from backing up or...well easily at least. He tilted his head up a little when he heard her say that it was alright and then sighed quietly and closed his eyes again. He smiled weakly and gently nuzzled against her, getting comfortable again while he lay there. "...That..suits me just fine..." he whispered quietly. He lay there silently for a few moments, just listening to the steady thud in her chest, "...I can hear your heart from here..." he said quietly as he moved his arm back to wrap around her. "...It's...soothing...." he muttered, sounding almost half asleep by now. Like it or not he was still very tired so he was going to be coming in and out a lot through the day and he'd been up about as long as eh could manage for now. |
Aamori went straight to the doors and slipped outside, actually thinking for once that she might get to do this on her own. She really had hoped so anyway. She didn't make it very far from the doors once she was on the other side before both Hisako and her brother finally showed up. Well... there went her plan for getting to do something without a chaperon for once. She gave a heavy sigh and wound up leaving to do her running around with her brother in tow. She would've preferred having Hisako go with her, but she had let Hisako know that Kanone was in need of a pass. The only thing she really hated about having her brother roaming around with her was that occasionally felt the need to stop and flirt with a girl he passed by, unless they had something important to do. Of course that wasn't the case this time, they were just doing some minor running around. So this simple and easy trip was bound to be longer than it needed to be.
Hisako waited outside the large doors until after Aamori and Yoichi had started off and then started to open the door to step inside. She couldn't believe that Aamori was actually going to try and leave the building on her own and with none of the friends that she'd brought with her. Any of them would've been better than her going out by herself if neither her or Yoichi were available. She sighed softly and shut the door quietly behind her. So far this day was turning out to be quite the pain. First with Yoichi trying to play hooky and having to track him down and then even Aamori was trying to get out on her own. Then there was also this Kanone who was here now. Which meant another person to keep an eye on. Aamori sure did bring a lot of people back home with her after her first trip out of the territory. She glanced around a little once she was inside and noticed more than one character she didn't recognize. Of course there was the new wind dragon, which she assumed was this Kanone and then another canine? Just how many of those were there? She stood there for a moment with her arms crossed lightly over her chest while she looked at them. LaRae smiled a little once Nanashi had made himself comfortable again. She knew he had to be getting tired, even before he actually sounded half asleep. She really didn't mind him falling asleep on her like he was. She had no where better to be and right now she didn't want to be anywhere else. She shifted her hand at his back slightly and started to rub gently. She shut her eyes lightly though she wasn't tired, she had slept more than enough. "...I'm really glad you're alive..." She whispered quietly. |
Celestine just sat there by Esen while Kanone stroked her fur, though his ears twitched slightly when he heard someone at the doors. He was already looking in that direction before they even started to open and he sighed softly when he saw Hisako coming inside. "Good evening, Hisako." he said simply, though his attention immediately went to Esen again when she flipped over and darted back toward Zale and Nobu, laying down close to Nobu's side with she saw the woman come inside. Apparently she still wasn't too keen on meeting new people. He just shook his head and then stood up, dusting himself off a little.
Kanone startled when he heard the door open and then stood up about as quickly as Esen ran off. He dusted himself off quickly and then looked back to the woman with a smile. He recognized the name at least, he guessed this was the one Aamori was talking about. "Hi! I'm Kanone, Celestine older and...much less moody cousin." he added when he saw the look that Celestine was giving him. He swallowed hard again and shifted positions slightly. Well this was nice and awkward. Great time for Aamori to run off. "Um...I-I was told I need a pass?" he said a little unsurely. Celestine stared at Kanone when he started fidgeting as he tried to introduce himself. Honestly he just made himself look like an idiot...at least to him. He sighed and rolled his eyes at his comment about being the less moody cousin. "Kanone...stop babbling. No one is going to eat you, there's nothing to be nervous about." he said, obviously well aware of his cousins problem with his flapping tongue when he got the jitters. He sighed as he glanced to Hisako, "Have fun with this one..." he said with a slight shake of his head before he reached down to pick up Kanone's plate and then started toward the kitchen with it since he'd obviously already forgotten or lost interest in the vegetables there. Kanone just stood there with a forced smile fading from his face. "...Thanks, kid, thanks a lot, really. You know I feel goofy enough without you helping me look bad!" he called after him. "I think you did most of that on your own..." he said casually as he disappeared into the kitchen area again to return the plate. Nanashi smiled again and nuzzled against LaRae a little more, relaxing when he felt her rubbing his back. Soon that quiet purr started to emit from his scratchy throat again. It was a bit broken but at least it didn't send him into coughing fits again. "...I love you..." he whispered softly after her comment. Mere seconds later the purr died away only to be replaced by his deep breathing as he fell asleep yet again. |
Hisako watched as the other canine rather quickly bolted up and rushed over to the other two. That one certainly wasn't like Zale and it was apparent that new people probably scared her a little, at least that was what she was assuming based on it's behavior. She turned her dual colored eyes towards Celestine when he spoke and she gave a soft smile before nodding lightly. "Evening. Oh, and sorry I disappeared on you all earlier. I had to go hunt down the other blue haired sneak." She said with a slight roll of her eyes. Honestly, at times... Aamori and Yoichi could act quite a bit alike. But at least this time Aamori hadn't really be sneaking anywhere. She shifted her glance a little to look over at the other who'd stood up and introduced himself. She smiled slightly at his comment about being the less moody cousin. Given the circumstances she'd already found that Celestine could be rather moody which is probably why she found some humor in Kanone's comment. "Don't worry, Aamori already told me about the pass when I saw her a moment ago." She paused. "I'll get you one as soon as Yoichi returns." She added absently. The passes were kind of useless without at least two signatures on them and the signatures had to be from certain people and she really didn't feel like going to run around to get someone elses signature when she could just wait for Yoichi to return. She listened to Celestine's following words and smiled a bit when he told her to have fun with this one. She waited until Celestine had started into the kitchen before she started to take a couple steps closer. She lowered her arms back down to her sides and looked him over slightly before smirking a little. "Don't listen to your cousin... I do actually eat dragons." She said with an half evil sounding laugh. She couldn't resist the urge to mess with him a little since he was so nervous and considering he was related to Celestine she saw little harm in it. She stood there for a moment and then smiled a bit softer. "I'm only joking of course!" She said with a quiet laugh. "Well.. maybe I'm not.. I bet Aamori would tell you otherwise." She uttered. "So, it's safe to assume that you already know my name... and I actually already knew yours. I guess the only other thing left to ask is, why are you here?"
Nobu lifted his head up a little when Esen came rushing over and he watched as she laid down near him. He turned his head back towards where she'd come and pretty soon noticed Hisako. Well he figured that she had to have run from someone and he had kind of expected it to be Aamori since she was the one that was over there but the two of them must have made an exchange at the door or something without his noticing. He glanced over at Zale briefly and noticed that he looked like was already asleep. At least it looked that way by the way he was breathing. He turned his head back to look at Esen and then lowered it slightly to rest on his paws. '...That woman's name is Hisako. To my knowledge she's relatively harmless. She's the trainer for Aamori, the other female water dragon that was here. The young one with the long blue hair and ivory horns that wrap around her head a little.' He shifted slightly and tucked his tails closer to him while he got comfortable. 'I think you're bound to get very uncomfortable here sooner or later. There are five other dragons in our little group that are in this building and then there's another water dragon that frequents here.' He paused. 'I don't think anyone would hold it against you if you wanted to meet them all at your own pace.' LaRae continued to sit there propped up rubbing his back gently. She cracked open her eyes a little and looked at him when she heard him. Once he had fallen asleep again she smiled softly and leaned her head down a little to kiss the top of his head. "...I love you, too." She whispered while she pulled her head back and shut her eyes again. |
Kanone was relieved to see that this woman knew Celestine and apparently had a bit of a sense of humor. He nodded to her when she said she'd get the pass as soon as Yoichi returned...whoever that was. He sighed softly, starting to relax a bit until he heard what she said about eating dragons. His ears shot straight up and he looked back to her, jumping back slightly. "What you're a cannibal!!?" he exclaimed though the instant the words left his mouth his cheeks started to turn pink. Of course she wasn't if she was he highly doubted that she would have come right out and said it like that. She only confirmed his momentary stupidity when she said that she was joking. He sighed softly and rubbed the back of his head slightly, almost messing up the ponytail that he had pulled his hair up in. He half smiled when she said that Aamori might tell him otherwise. He laughed quietly and then shook his head slightly. "...I just came to visit Aamori. She told me to stop by sometime if I got the chance. I kind of missed my fishing buddy." he said with a slight laugh, "...But I also wanted to come and keep an eye on Cel. I'm running out of people to worry about, it's down to him and gramps, so I figured I'd tag along and make sure that he made it home in one piece."
Celestine had already dropped off the plate and was returning to the area where Kanone was standing, just in time to hear the last of what he was saying. Again he got that annoyed expression on his face as he came up behind him again and slammed his hand down on his shoulder. "And for the last time, I do NOT need a babysitter!" Kanone's ears shot strait up again when Celestine came up behind him . "Oh my gosh!" He yelped out of surprise. He looked back over to him and grinned slightly. "Well I couldn't find me a good one so I had to come and track you down." He said playfully before he threw his arm around Celestine's neck and ground his knuckles into the top of his head behind his horn. "Ah! Ow! Let go of me you idiot!" he said as he shoved his hands against Kanone's arm. He struggled for a moment but finally managed to slip his head out of his grasp, though not soon enough to save his hair from getting tangled and frizzy on top. He gave Kanone another of his all famous death glares and then huffed as he started to comb his fingers through his hair to straighten it out again. "What are you, five?" "Eh what are you, thirty?" he shot back with a grin. "You are such a kill joy, you know that." Celestine sighed heavily, "I don't know that I'm going to survive this trip with you on it..." "Oh, put a sock in it. I brought Kyiri with me, go play with her." he said as he pushed Celestine off again, "Go! Go play with your kitty." Celestine just rolled his eyes again in annoyance and smacked Kanone's hand away from him. "You are such a child." he muttered under his breath before he glanced back to Hisako again. He sighed softly and then shook his head "Sorry about that..." he said simply, apologizing for Kanone's idiocy and short attention span. Esen looked over to Nobu when he started to speak to her. She already had her head on her paws and her tails wrapped tightly around her as soon as she had laid down. She sighed heavily when he told her about Hisako and Aamori, though she couldn't escape the soft whine when he mentioned five others. 'So many people...' she commented quietly, mostly to herself. Her ears laid back again as she let out another quiet sigh. She didn't really want to start meeting all of them but she knew if she was going to come that she didn't have too much of a choice. 'Mmm....I'll be okay...' she whispered quietly again. She could make herself get to know them...or at the very least be around them. It was sure to get easier in time. After all, Kanone hardly seemed like she shy type at all. |
Hisako laughed softly at Kanone's reaction to what she said jokingly about eating dragons. Of course she wasn't a cannibal; If she was she surely wouldn't be put in the type of position she was in. She nodded slightly when he said that he had come here to visit Aamori and to keep an eye on Celestine. She had already kind of figured that he'd come to see Aamori, but that was only because of the note that came earlier in the day. Actually, she wasn't really surprised to hear that he wanted to keep an eye on Celestine either. After all, that's what family did. She sighed softly when Celestine came back into the area and said that he didn't need a babysitter. Well... that didn't really sound like what Kanone had said. If Celestine really wanted to know what it felt like to have a babysitter, she could easily arrange that. She smirked lightly at the thought for a brief moment before turning her eyes back to the boys, just watching the exchanges quietly. She shook her head lightly once Celestine had gone and apologized. "There is no need to apologize to me for something that only bothers you." She uttered. "You must forget who I dealt with since she was thirteen... I'm kind of used to the silly and immature behavior from time to time. Not to mention I've also had my hands full with her brother." She paused. "I found it's easier to try and go with it than be a stick in the mud all the time." Thankfully though as the years went both Aamori and Yoichi started to grasp the need to be serious sometimes.
Nobu continued to lay there, barely moving now that he was content. 'It is a lot of people...' He agreed. 'The five others in our group for the most part are pretty nice so I don't think you'll have too much to worry about. If you were around when we all were in Caledonia, I'm sure that you'd seen everyone. There's a dragon from every clan, plus Kanone now, I assume. The only one of them I'd be a little wary of is the dark clan dragon. He'll probably seem extremely unfriendly at first ...well ...I still think he's a tad on the unfriendly side and I've been around him for a little while.' He had no real issues with Nero, but the guy really was on the cold side more than anything and he didn't really want animals around him unless he initiated the contact. Maybe that wasn't all that bad... but compared to Celestine, Nero was practically a polar opposite. |
Celestine sighed quietly and shook his head at Hisako's comment about going with it. "I am not a stick in the mud..." he said simply. He still wasn't much on the whole being playful all of the time. He had his rare moments, though they seemed to come around more often lately, but usually he was content being relaxed or serious. He would get playful with the animals before he would get playful with a person, but he didn't see himself as a stick in the mud. He just thought everyone else could stand to act their age.
Kanone just stared at Celestine for a few moments and then shook his head slightly and sighed softly. He stared at him for a moment and then slipped a little closer. "You aren't even ticklish anymore." he said as he tried tickling his sides. When he was little that would have had him rolling on the ground in seconds but after a while even that didn't really work on him anymore. Celestine just stared at Kanone as if he was the biggest idiot on the planet. "...I think you broke me." he said simply. He really wasn't even ticklish on the bottom of his feet anymore. So long as Kanone avoided his neck he was just fine. Kanone sighed and pulled his hand back again but then he grinned evilly and grabbed the back of Celestine's neck. That was always the hardest place to tickle but he knew he had been ticklish there once upon a time. When Celestine cringed he knew he'd probably found the only surviving tickle spot so he quickly started tickling. Celestine was trying to get away but all he managed to do was sink to his knees while laughing. After a minute or so Kanone finally let him go and gave Hisako a triumphant thumbs up. Celestine knelt there gasping for a moment and still laughing a little. It was hard to just stop laughing abruptly as soon as someone stopped tickling you. He shook his head and stood up again, his pale face slightly red around the cheeks. "....Kanone...I hate you." he said with a slight smile. Kanone was bad about doing that to try to put him in a good mood. Unfortunately for him it usually worked, even if for just a few minutes. "I guess I didn't break you too badly." he said lightly. Celestine just shook his head and started to walk off. "I'm going to go 'play with my kitty' now." he said as he waved Kanone off dismissively and started toward the fountain where Kyiri was still sitting in the grass licking herself. Esen glanced at Nobu again and sighed softly. '...I was...around...some...' she said quietly. She was always around, though she didn't really pay a whole lot of attention to who was at the house. She had sen the dark one out on the porch once or twice and he had indeed made her want to stay far away from the house even more so than normal. He was just scary to even look at. She sighed softly and just curled up into a ball where she was though her ears twitched when she heard someone coming back in their direction and she looked up, relieved to see that it was only Celestine. |
Hisako smiled slightly and then shook her head a little. "I never said that you were a stick in the mud." She pointed out. Though his denial of the comment did humor her. She shook her head again lightly when Kanone made his first attempt at tickling Celestine and there was no outcome. She was a little surprised to be honest that Celestine wasn't even ticklish. Most people had at least one or two weak spots, well, unless you were like Aamori then nearly everywhere was a weak spot. She couldn't help but chuckle when she saw that Kanone had managed to find a ticklish spot and it had even brought Celestine down to his knees laughing. She smiled at Kanone when he did his thumbs up and then glanced back to Celestine for a moment. "Now.. if only you could get him to laugh unprovoked... then I might actually believe he's younger than me." She watched as Celestine started to walk off towards the fountain and then looked back to Kanone. "Make sure you enjoy his current mood while it lasts..." She paused. "I'm fairly certain it'll plummet once Aamori and Yoichi return." She uttered. She had noticed that pretty much every time that Yoichi was around, Celestine's mood worsened. Though she wasn't really sure she could blame him, Yoichi did appear to like pestering him about his gender.

Kanone watched as Celestine walked off and then looked back to Hisako and laughed slightly. "Heh, yeah... They never seem to last too long anymore. I'm surprised he didn't try to take my fingers off for that. He usually gets mad when I pull that. Haha you wouldn't have believed that kid when he was little, though. If he wasn't crying because someone was picking on him he had a smile plastered to his face." He sighed quietly and crossed his arms lightly over his chest. For a moment there was a sad shadow in his expression, though it was gone quickly. He missed the good old days before Celestine lost his parents. "He doesn't smile or laugh much anymore if he's not forced to. Heck he doesn't even cry anymore. Well not that I've noticed anyway. He just gets pissed ff and tries to annihilate you or wanders to the highest place he can find to hide until he calms down." he said with a laugh. He was keeping his voice low so that Celestine would have a hard time understanding him even if he did hear him from where he was. "So...who's this Yoichi?" he asked, changing subjects again since he assumed that Hisako had better things to do that listen to Celestine's life history. "Is that Aamori's brother?" He couldn't remember if Aamori had mentioned a name but he did remember her mentioning a brother around his age.
Celestine wasn't paying much more attention to Kanone once he left. He knew the guy well enough to know that he probably didn't want to know what he was telling so it was best to just remain ignorant. He knelt down when he got to Kyiri and then picked her up and turned her over in his arms before he started to wiggle his finger in front of her nose. She caught it between her paws and licked it a couple of times before she reached up to smack at the hair that was hanging over his shoulder. He smiled slightly and then sat her down, "What did you, go for a swim?" he asked with a soft chuckle when he realized that she was still damp. He gently ruffled her fur and then rolled her onto her back and lightly tickled her stomach while she nibbled at his hand. After a moment he pulled his hand back and tapped his other hand on the ground a couple of feet away from her and laughed softly when she rolled over and wiggled her butt as she prepared to pounce. He moved his hand back quickly and did the same with the other hand behind her only to get about the same effect. He smiled slightly and continued darting his hands about he grass and occasionally ruffling up her fur lightly. He could keep himself entertained for hours like his if Kyiri didn't loose interest first. |
Hisako listened quietly to Kanone while he talked about Celestine. Looking at Celestine now, you would kind of find it hard to believe that he used to cry and smile. He looked like nothing more than a walking compilation of gloom with wings, tail and a horn most of the time so without any knowledge of the tragedy that had lead to his change it would be really hard to believe that he used to be anything but what he was now. She glanced over at Celestine for a moment before looking back to Kanone when he started asking about Yoichi. She smiled weakly. "Sorry, I mentioned him a couple of times and you don't even know who I'm referring to." She paused and gave a slight nod. "Yes, Yoichi is Aamori's older brother and a thorn in Celestine's side." She said with a small laugh. "He was coming back here with me but Aamori's not allowed to wander around outside of this building without an escort, so Yoichi's keeping an eye on her while she does what-ever running around she had planned." She paused. "They shouldn't be gone for too much longer, so you'll more than likely get to meet Yoichi."
|
Kanone smiled slightly. "Yeah she mentioned having a brother around my age, but I couldn't remember his name...if she ever said it in the first place." He said with a slight laugh. "Why can't she go out of here alone, is she in trouble or something? She's definitely not a flight risk." he said with a slight laugh, poking a little fun at Aamori since he'd gathered that her wings were more or less for show. Then again she was a water dragon. He wasn't even sure why they had wings in the first place, they were rarely used. "This is some kind of building anyway, how do you people keep someone from just flying over the roof to get in here? Heh I mean why even have a door?" He clearly had no idea what he was standing in really. Aamori hadn't really given him squat to work with so he was just had to guess and ask really stupid questions. "By the way are you the person who trains Aamori or something? I swear I think I've asked that girl 500 questions about what she does and all I get back home is 'if I tell you I'll have to kill you' then I get here and all I get is 'combat training.' Is she always that secretive over little stuff like that or am I missing something?" Obviously with Celestine gone Kanone was back on the rambles. He wasn't too sure what to talk about with Hisako really so again he was just hopping from one thing to the next. Honestly listening to him someone might think he had ADD or something.
