Celestine just stared at Aamori with a bored expression when she stuck her tongue out at him and then shook his head, looking away and glaring off into the distance again. 'Stupid girls... Why is it every girl I come across acts like a complete lunatic?' It was hard for him to come to like any girl since he was hardly ever around anyone and then whenever he got around girls they always seemed to want to pet him...or in Aamori's case pester him to death.
Hikari smiled softly when he asked if she meant that they had gotten an early start on the fights or the trek and then laughed quietly. "Both, I suppose." she said simply and then looked over to him when he looked down at him and returned his smile, "Well I don't think you have to worry too much. As long as you can stand me." she said lightly, "I was trying to give you a little room since I doubt you want to go the entire trip like this." she said as she latched onto his arm for a moment. She laughed softly and let him for, putting a little space between them again. Nanashi looked over to her again and sighed softly. "...I know..." he said quietly, "I...I wanted to." he said softly. He blinked when she started picking at the bandages again. He shook his head and reached across with his other hand, taking hers again. He almost smiled as he looked down at her, "Would you give that a rest?" he asked with a soft chuckle. It was hard for him to say exactly what he felt for LaRae, but he way that he acted around her said more than anything. He seemed more at ease around her than anyone else and just the way he looked at her said a lot. He had a little less trouble looking her in the eyes now, and whenever he did he always had a fond gaze, even if it was usually mixed with worry and sadness. |
Kyran didn't seem to phased when Hikari latched onto his arm, he just looked down at her and smiled softly. He briefly lifted his hand and pointed off to the east slightly. You could start to see the greenery of the eastern forest they were headed to. "Because we started out early today, we're already almost there" He let out a relieved sigh. "Then there is a small town about a mile east of that forest. So we'll be able to go pick up some supplies, enough to last a few more days." He was actually surprised that they were reaching the forest so fast, listening in to the conversation between Aamori and Celestine must have made time pass by quickly without him noticing.
LaRae was relieved to hear him say that he wanted to say what he did; It made her feel less like it was because of what she said. Her eyes focused on his hand as it moved and stopped her from picking at the wraps. She never realized that she was messing with it; Though she was happy that picking at them so much had caused them to loosen slightly. Which made her body itch a little less. "Sorry, I didn't know I was messing with them..." She mumbled slowly shifting her eyes up to look at him. She smiled softly having finally lifted her head from staring at the ground. She was comfortable around him, smiling came easy and it was nice to be accepted by someone. Though, she had a lot on her mind; She definitely had to reevaluate a few things. Perhaps she'd take some time to do that before night fall. |
Hikari let her face follow the path of Kyran's finger and she smiled brightly upon seeing the forest come into view. "Whew! Alright!" she said brightly. She then sighed, "I just hope it's here..." she said as she looked off toward the greenery. She looked up to Kyran for a moment and smiled slightly putting her hand on his arm. She was pretty proud of him for trekking on through all of this, even though he had little to no idea where he was going or what he was looking for. He was setting a good example for everyone else.
Nanashi shook his head slightly and smiled a little more when she looked up to him again and he gave her hand another squeeze. "Well stop before you pluck them off and we have to sit on you to put the back." He released her other hand and then glanced away, blinking, "Oh. We're almost there." He said, motioning toward the forest. He hadn't even realized how close they were. |
Kyran finally stopped walking when they reached the base of the forest. Believe it or not he felt like collapsing as soon as they reached their first destination. He was worn out. He had not slept very well the night prior and it was starting to show badly. He stretched his arms up over his head and his tail straightened out as his arms popped. He relaxed again and his tail curled back up immediately. "Well... We're here" He stated as he started to turn around and look at the others. He had a few more things to say to them before they stepped inside but his eyes quickly followed what appeared to be a blue blur as it sped past him.
Aamori wasted no time at all rushing past Kyran towards the forest. She stopped as soon as her feet hit the cold grass and looked back at him. "I'm going to find some water... I'll find you guys" She stated with a smile and disappeared into the forest in search of a water source. Kyran sighed when he realized that she moved too fast for him to catch her at the moment. She'd be alright, at least he figured she would. He turned back to the others and waited for them all to reach him. "This forest isn't very large, maybe a mile and a half all the way around. It's been awhile since I've been to this one in particular but there are a few different species of wild animals here. Don't disturb them, this is sacred ground after all." He paused taking a deep breath. "Those animals, some of them are dangerous. Try to avoid them, don't kill them. And other then that I guess feel free to just wander around, the grounds are small enough that I'm sure I'll find you all" After he finished talking he sighed softly and sat down on the ground to rest for a few moments. Nero stayed behind to listen to what Kyran had to say, but other then that he had already started to head into the forest himself. He wandered towards the center and stopped as soon as he found a dark spot where the sun didn't shine through the branches very well and then sat down under a tree. He rested his back against the trunk of the tree and shut his eyes, relaxing. "...You do know they're coming off soon anyway..." She paused looking over at him. "I'm ripping them off" She didn't bother finishing the sentence, it would have ended in 'Then Aamori is going to put more on...' She looked up when everyone else seemed to come to a stop and looked at the forest in front of her. She smiled warmly, quite happy to see so many plants; Especially considering the extremely unpleasant barren wasteland they'd been walking through for the past two days. |
Celestine blinked when Aamori took off into the woods and sighed, shaking his head. He listened to what Kyran had to say but by the time he finished, he just started to walk away, disappearing into the trees. He sighed, glad to feel the soft grass under his feet after walking across the jagged ground for two days. He just went off on his own, trying to get away from everyone for a while. Eventually, he found a relatively large tree and hopped into it, reclining against the trunk as he rested on a lower branch. After a few moments, he brought out his pipe and started to play softly.
Nanashi gave LaRae a look and shook his head. "LaRae... leave it alone!" he told her again as he gave her hand a tug. He glanced around for a moment and then tugged her hand, "Come one..." He said simply, hoping to distract her with the greenery for a while and get her mind off of the bandages. Hikari stood there until the others had gone and then sighed. She thought about going off, but she didn't really know where to go. After a moment she sat down beside Kyran, facing him rather than the direction that he was looking. She looked at him for a moment and tilted her head slightly. "...Are you alright, Kyran?" she asked softly, "You look pretty worn out..." she observed. |
Kyran looked up momentarily when He heard Hikari sit down. He was a tad surprised that she had not followed the lead of the others and gone into the forest. He put his arms behind him and leaned back on them, dropping his head back staring up at the sky. "Yeah I'm fine" He stated with a sigh. "This is just a little more work then I'm used to doing. It doesn't help that I didn't sleep well last night either, I'm sure" He said in a laxidasial tone. "I just needed a few minutes off of my feet to rest, then I'm headed for that town to pick up some stuff before it gets dark" As soon as he finished speaking his stomach growled again. It'd kept quiet for a long time but at the mention of the town it pipped up again. He gently moved one hand and tossed it over his stomach as if telling it to shut up. "How about you Hikari, you doing alright?"
LaRae resisted at first when Nanashi gave her hand a tug. "But I'm not currently messing with the bandages..." She mumbled and gave in when he tugged her again. She stumbled a few feet, but regained her footing and followed after him. Though she didn't appear to have much of a choice he was leading her after all. "Where are we going?" She asked looking down at their hands briefly. |
Hikari smiled slightly and then laughed softly when she heard his stomach growl. She placed her hand on his stomach and patted it lightly. "It sounds like you could stand to grab some food as well." she commented. She glanced off for a moment and then shrugged slightly. "I am doing alright... My wrist is still a little sore, but other than that..." she paused as her own stomach made a quiet rumbling noise. "...Heh... well I guess I am a little hungry." she admitted. She was used to a good three square meas a day and occasionally a few snacks in between when she decided to sneak into the kitchen.
Nanashi smiled slightly as he walked, clinging to her her hand still. "...I don't know." he admitted softly, "...I just know you like forests... I thought we could walk around for a while. It's...nice here." He said softly, "...Besides...it will make you feel a little better won't it?" |
Kyran just looked at Hikari when she patted his stomach, he shook his head and laughed softly. "You should've heard my stomach interject everytime I went to speak when I was talking to Aamori earlier..." He paused laughing again when he heard her stomach make noise too. "Well, I plan on stopping somewhere in the town and picking up something that everyone can eat. None of us have really had anything since the Festival day." He wasn't quite ready to get back on his feet just yet but knew if he didn't now, he may never. He sighed heavily and leaned forward slightly and started to get to his feet. Once he stood up he stretched a little and looked down at Hikari. "I guess I'll be back..." He paused. "Unless you'd like to come?" He didn't mind going alone, that's usually how things worked with him. So if she was too tired to join him he wouldn't hold it against her.
LaRae shook her head softly, laughing to herself quietly. 'Isn't it obvious... all Earth Dragons like forests... or anything green for that matter...' She thought to herself hearing his comment. She smiled softly and put her brakes on, digging her heels into the ground slightly. Which would probably have jerked him back if he hadn't noticed right away that she stopped. "It doesn't exactly work that way Nanashi" She said quietly. "If you mean like the other day, I have to be touching the ground with most of my body. And be somewhere with plenty of sun, much like how flowers need the right sun and the perfect soil. I can't just be walking or standing in a forest..." She paused and chuckled softly. "Sounds pretty lame now that I think about it..." |
Hikari smiled again and laughed softly, "Poor Kyran." she said playfully and then sighed softly, "You're telling me... I think this is officially the longest that I've ever gone without eating." she said simply. When he stood up and stretched she tilted her head, sighing sightly and nodded when he said he'd be back. When asked if she wanted to come her ears perked up and she stood up quickly, dusting herself off as if she'd been waiting for an invitation and just didn't want to ask. She really didn't want to seem like she was trying to be a tag along, but she did really enjoy his company.
Nanashi felt his arm pulled back when LaRae stopped walking and he was forced to stop as well. He looked back at her and tilted his head slightly. "...O-oh... I see..." He said quietly, glancing away as his cheeks went a little red as if he was embarrassed that he hadn't known that. "...Well...we can stop and rest, then..." he said gently, raising his head again to glance around. He gently gave her hand a tug and tried to lead her over to the base of a tree to sit down. There was sunlight filtering through the leaves in several locations. "I'm kinda tired, anyway..." |
Kyran laughed softly seeing how fast Hikari got to her feet. It was pretty clear by this point that she was going to join him on the trip to the town. He smiled warmly. "I'm glad you're coming. It'll be nicer having someone to keep me company" He stated turning around; Facing towards the town. Luckily for them with such flat land you could just barely make out the silhouette of the town. He started to walk slowly in that direction; Not thinking to go back and let the others know that they were leaving. He figured that they'd put two and two together and figure it out. After all they weren't a bunch of idiots; Though he did question some of them. "Well, we'd better hurry. The faster we get there and back the better; We'll be able to quite the rumbling of our stomachs" He laughed again hearing his stomach growl again softly.
Aamori had rushed out of the forest nearly running into Kyran. She hit the brakes and looked up at him; Having to press her hands against his waist to keep herself from falling into him. "Are you guys leaving?" She asked before she'd even caught her breath. "If you are I have two questions" She paused and steadied her balance before looking up at Kyran. "When you go to buy the new stuff for LaRae's wings can you get something for..." She paused and grabbed hold of Kyran's shoulder and brought it down to her level and whispered the end of that question in his ear. Then she let go of him and asked the other question. "Also... There is water here right? Where is it??" She seemed a bit eager to know the answer to the second question. She was lifting herself up and down on her toes impatiently. Kyran's eyes widened when he was pulled down to Aamori's level. He just smiled at her and nodded a yes to her first question. When she asked the second he just smiled "Of course there is. In this particular forest it should be directly in the middle. It's a good sized lake, oddly enough with a small waterfall from the rocks. You can't miss it" He had pointed her in the right direction and with that she was off again into the forest in search of the water. He shook his head and laughed softly. "She'll let the others know where we've gone, I'm sure" He stated looking back at Hikari for a moment. LaRae laughed softly seeing him look away after she explained how things worked with her energy. She let him lead her to the place he wanted to stop. She smiled softly and gently pulled her hand away and stepped out onto the grass next to the tree trunk. She knelt down for a moment and began to unlace her boots; Slipping them off one at a time. She then tossed them off to the side of the tree and let her feet feel the grass under them. The sun drenched parts were warm whereas the other areas were cold. She smiled softly and then got down on her knees, then lowered her chest to the ground. She laid on her stomach soaking up the patches of sun, since she couldn't lay on her back without hurting herself. She pressed her cheek against the grass and couldn't help but smile. She wished sometimes that she could share the feeling with others; The pure ecstasy of your body pulling energy from the planet itself to refuel your small being. It was something only earthen dragons experienced and there were no words to truly describe the feeling. It relaxed one instantly; She shut her eyes slowly and took a deep breath. |
Hikari smiled at Kyran when he told her that he'd enjoy the company. "I hoped you might." she said brightly, "I wouldn't make you go all the way there on your own if you didn't want to. Though...from the looks of it it's not a very far walk." Thankfully... Her feet were pretty sore.
She'd just turned to start off when Aamori came running out and nearly collided with Kyran. She smiled slightly as she watched her bounce around waiting for an answer to her questions. After she ran off again, she laughed softly at Kyran's comment. "I'm sure." she agreed as she started to turn again. "I just hope that she doesn't decide to bother poor Celestine again. There's no one to save him this time." She said with a soft laugh. "...Though I have to admit, that one was pretty amusing." Nanashi let LaRae go and stood watching her as she laid down on her stomach. After a moment he lay down as well, stretching out beside her. He crossed his arms over the grass and lay down on his stomach, turning his head to look at her as he rested his cheek on his arms. He simply smiled as he watched her relax and then raised up a little on his arms, glancing behind him as he kicked his own boots off. His feet were blistered and rubbed raw in places from the amount of walking that he did, even before this trip. He hardly ever took his boots off even if his feet were sore; there was no telling when he was going to need to make a run for it again. He sighed quietly as he flexed his toes. It was about time he let his feet air out some and it was a huge relief to have the cool grass to lest them rest on. He hardly realized how much they hurt anymore, they were always sore, so he was pretty much used to it by now. After pushing his boots aside with his feet he laid down again and closed his eyes. If he laid here like this too long he'd probably end up going to sleep again. This was a lot more comfortable than laying on the rocks. |
Kyran started to walk towards the town, slowing his pace. He wasn't in quite as big a hurry as he was this morning so he'd walk at a comfortable pace. "I doubt she's going to go and bother Celestine, she's been away from a large body of water for too long. She'll probably still be in that lake when we return" He looked over his shoulder for a moment to look at Hikari. "Aamori might be a little annoying at times but she does have a kind heart" He paused and laughed softly. "She asked me to find something for the pain Celestine has been in, from his side" He turned back to face the destination. "She means well, I just think her bubbly personality is misunderstood by some people. Not to mention I doubt she could bring herself to hurt someone who is already in pain like Celestine" He chuckled softly. Kyran was pretty good at reading people, since he was a diplomat that was a good trait to have.
LaRae smiled softly, feeling quite warm as her body slowly started to regain the energy previously expelled. She glanced over at Nanashi who had laid down next to her, smiling again she moved her arm slightly and poked him in his side. "Hey... don't go falling asleep now" She chuckled. "Comfortable isn't it?" Aamori had rushed into the forest and headed straight for where Kyran told her to go. She smiled brightly when she did finally find the place she was looking for. The lake was a lot larger then that silly pond she had sat by the other day. She wasted very little time getting her sandals off and slipping into the water. She didn't mind getting her clothing wet, it would dry with time. She smiled and submerged herself in the cold water. |
Hikari smiled at Kyran as she walked after him. "I can see that..." she said softly, "I don't think there's anything wrong it her...she's just a little rambunctious at times, but she's sweet." She shook her head slightly, "I wasn't worried about her hurting him... At worst I think all those two would do is argue. That boy has a bit of a mouth and a temper..." she said simply. "...I wonder if that's just because he's been living by himself...he really doesn't seem to get along with people..." She blinked realizing she'd said something that she probably shouldn't have known. "...Err...I kind of overheard some of the other Wind clan members talking on the way out. They were trying to figure out who he was... one of them was saying that they thought that he looked familiar, but if it was him that meant that he'd been living alone since he was nine. Apparently the boy he knew ran away from home and never came back..."
Nanashi opened his eyes again when he felt her finger jab into his side and smiled slightly. "...Sorry..." he said with a weak smile. He looked like he was doing good to keep his eyes open now that he was laying down. He nodded when she asked him if it was comfortable. "Uh-huh..." |
Kyran stopped walking just as they neared the edge of the town. It really wasn't that far from the forest so it didn't take them long to reach it. He took his hand and patted the back pocket of his jeans making sure the parchment the Elder had given him was still there. It was of course, but he'd rather be safe then sorry. He turned around to look at Hikari he smiled softly. "I'm not so sure, I think that Aamori could get tired of his temper; With time" He paused and sighed lightly. "So, you think the Wind dragons were thinking that Celestine is this boy who ran away from home?" He shrugged his shoulders a little. "If that's the case then we can only imagine how Celestine grew up" He started to turn back towards the town, but kept his face towards Hikari. "...Anyway, where should we go first?"
LaRae continued to poke him in his side, pausing for a few seconds between jabs. She laughed softly "You look pretty tired..." She paused. "...It's because your comfy right?" She was still poking him, a bit more gently now. She shut her eyes and gave a relaxed sigh. It was definitely a lot nicer here then where they had been sleeping the past two nights, but she wasn't exactly tired. Though, if he fell asleep she was sure she wouldn't be too far behind. |
Hikari nodded slightly, "Well... it seems reasonable... If he's been on his own that long I guess it's pretty natural that he wouldn't know how to relate to people his age anymore." She looked toward the town again and tilted her head, "Hmm... Well..." she glanced back toward Kyran again and grinned slightly as her ears laid back a little. "Well... I am still hungry." she said with a quiet laugh, "But then again, I guess we'd best get the other things that we need first." She then blinked, "Oh....what did we need exactly?"
Nanashi smiled again and laughed quietly. "I guess so..." he admitted, rolling onto his side to try to escape her finger. He grinned slightly and shook his head slightly before sitting up. If she didn't want him to fall asleep he guessed he'd best not lay down. "...Are you feeling any better?" |
Kyran shook his head softly hearing her mention food; As much as he would love to go eat right now he knew they needed to get the other things first. Then they could get something to eat. He thought for a moment about the things he needed to get. "Umm... Off the top of my head I know we need to get some new stuff for LaRae's wings. There isn't a Doctor anywhere near here so we'll have to take care of her ourselves until we find one" He paused. "Then, Aamori asked for something for Celestine. What ever we can find to relieve the pain I guess. We also need to look for some sort of new bottoms for LaRae and Aamori too, can't very well have them running around in torn clothes" He shook his head thinking he should've brought those two with him, too. "Finally we need to get some food and take it back so that everyone can eat" He looked back to Hikari and sighed softly "Anything you can think of?"
LaRae opened her eyes when she realized she wasn't able to poke him anymore. She looked up at him seeing he'd sat up and smiled slightly. "Yes, quite a bit better now. A little longer and I'll be fine" She stated placing her hand, palm down to the ground and it began to glow lightly. She was expelling a very small amount of energy that she'd gain back nearly as soon as she finished. She started to lift her hand up from the ground and pulled a small piece of root with it. She looked at it with a smirk. It looked like it was a knife; It had a handle and was sharp on one end. She shifted the root-knife over to her other hand, away from Nanashi and set her hand down by her side; Just out of sight. She smiled softly and looked back at Nanashi. "So... how are you feeling?" She asked trying to keep his attention off of what she was doing with her other hand. She had slowly started to slice through the wraps on her side with the root-knife she created. Just a little while longer and she'd have cut through them completely. |
Hikari nodded, trying to keep the items he listed in mind so they didn't forget something. "Hmm..." she tried to think of something else that they needed, "...Hmm...I can't really think of anything at the moment..." she said simply. "Well...lets go see what we can find." she said with a slight smile. "Maybe we will think of things as we see them." she suggested. "That's how I do it."
Nanashi smiled slightly, though he as he looked at her he noticed the glow from her hand. He started to say something but it was gone before he could, so he let it go. "...I'm alright..." he said softly. He narrowed his eyes when he noticed her arm moving behind her. ti took him a second to realize what she was doing, but when he did he growled in irritation and reached around her, grabbing for whatever she was using to cut, "LaRae!" he said in an almost scolding voice, until he felt something slice through his hand. He gasped and pulled his hand back quickly, looking at his now bleeding palm. He hadn't realized she actually had a knife, he just thought it was a piece of wood that she was plucking at it with. |
Kyran merely nodded and started to head into the town. It was actually pretty small compared to the other towns in this territory. There was a small Inn, and a general store. Then there were about a dozen small residential houses. This was one of the smallest towns in the area, but the people who lived here liked it that way. He ignored the few odd stares that they were given and made his way to the general store. He stopped outside and pushed the door open, holding it for Hikari. "Lets try to make this as quick as possible, it's clear just from walking in that everyone here is uncomfortable..." He said quietly.
LaRae's ears laid down hearing his tone when he said her name. She flinched and tried to move the knife but he got cut anyway. She moved the knife after he pulled his hand away and dug it into the ground. She'd already cut completely through the wraps on her side; Since she had not been watching she'd sliced her shirt and her skin lightly without noticing. She put her hands under her and pushed herself up to a seated position. The bandages started to slide down falling into her lap; Though her wings stayed wrapped up, they were just rather loose. She went to say something to him about his hand but stopped and shut her mouth. She lowered her eyes then she noticed her shirt had been cut too, she moved her hand to hide her bare skin then realized that she'd cut herself slightly. It was barely bleeding which which meant there couldn't have been too big of a cut; Which was probably why she had not felt the root-knife cut her. She pressed her hand to her side and kept her eyes on the ground, letting out a small sigh. |
Hikari glanced around slightly as they walked into town, half trying to avoid the eyes of the people there, though when one did catch her eye she only smiled warmly at them. She paused at the door when Kyran opened it and glanced over to him, "No kidding..." she said quietly as she stepped into the store and glanced around for a few moments, trying to figure out where exactly to go. Finally, she spotted the medical supplies near the back and started to move in that direction casually. If anyone was watching her, she didn't want them to think anything more than she was shopping, so she refrained from looking as timid as she felt coming in here. She hated making people feel too uneasy.
Nanashi stared at his hand for a moment and then looked back to LaRae, sighing heavily when he saw the limp bandages around her waist. "...You realize that we will be putting more, on, don't you?" He asked as he looked down to his hand again. He was bleeding pretty bed since he'd literally grabbed the tip of the blade. He just shook his head and tried to wipe his palm on the grass, though the blades slipping into the wound made him since and pull it back. "...And you should stop using up all of your energy as soon as you get it back... it's not healthy." |
Kyran had followed after her closing the door behind him. He looked around at a few of the other people in the store, not too many of them really made eye contact with him. They just continued what they were doing, a few of them grabbed the last things they needed and left the store. He sighed softly ignoring the other people in the store. As they reached the wall with the medical supplies he just stared for a moment. He must have looked slightly dumbfounded. "What all do you think we're going to need?" He had never had to take care of someone before, let alone someone's wings so he really wasn't sure what they would need.
LaRae set her hands down in her lap and fiddled with the bandages. "...I didn't use up all my energy... That was nothing..." She mumbled a little defensively. She slowly lifted her eyes and noticed how badly he was bleeding. She felt worse now seeing he'd been hurt just because she didn't want her wings to be bound anymore. She reached for the root-knife she had created and used it to cut a couple pieces of the bandages that were laying limp at her waist. She sighed softly and thrust the blade of the knife back into the ground and scooted closer to him. She reached out and took his hand in hers and held it while she used a piece of the bandage she'd cut up to blot-up the blood coming from his cut. She continued to do so until the cut wasn't seeping with blood so badly. Then she took another piece and started to wrap his hand tightly; She tied it of in a knot and then let go of his hand. "I'm sorry.." She mumbled just before backing away from him and then standing. She felt terrible, knowing full well that she should have just left the bandages on and then none of this would have happened. As she stood up the remaining bandages around her waist fell loosely towards the ground. Her wings fell slightly from her back, still partially bound from how tightly Aamori had wrapped them. Her wings still hurt, but surprisingly not as much as she suspected they would. She had her back to him and she sighed heavily setting her hand back to her side to cover up her own cut and bare skin. She shook her head softly realizing she was in need of some new clothes after only two days. She had one pants leg left on her jeans, holes in the back of her shirt and now she had a slice up the side of her shirt. |
Hikari looked around for a moment and laughed weakly, "At the rate we are going, we could probably use the entire stock." She glanced down for a moment, only then remembering that she had yet to take the bandage off of her leg to see how it was doing. She guessed she could do it later. After a moment she went back to looking over the items for sale, rummaging through them a bit. At home, she was generally couped up indoors most of the day, so she spent a lot of her time reading and studying, and one of her favorite subjects was herbal medicines and other such first aid. Sure, she was a light dragon and had strong healing capabilities, but that didn't mean that she always wanted to have to use them. "Let's see..." she muttered as she picked out a roll of large bandages that looked pretty sturdy. "These should be good for LaRae's wings." she stated as she shifted over to the other herbs. "Now...lets see here...there should be something that can dull pain... I know what would be good, but I think it only grown in my territory..." she murmured to herself.
Nanashi nearly flinched when LaRae grabbed his hand and dabbed at the cut. He winced and tried to pull his hand back once, but when she didn't let go he gave up and jut let her do what she wanted with it. It hurt, but he didn't complain. "A little at a time adds up..." he said quietly after a few moments. He winced again when she tied the bandage around his hand and watched at she got up from her seat. "...Don't apologize... you didn't cut me." he said softly. He'd done it himself trying to stop her from cutting off her bandages. When he noticed her holding her side he got to his feet slowly and walked up to her, gently taking her hand with his good one and trying to move it. "...Did you cut yourself, too?" he asked softly. |
Kyran merely stepped back a little giving her plenty of room to look around at the different things. He by no means had ever looked into medical books or anything of the sort so he was like a fish out of water at the moment. He sighed softly thinking he might go look at a few of the other things they needed to get, but again he couldn't see himself picking out clothes for the other girls. He laughed softly thinking how long he'd have been standing here staring blankly at this stuff not sure what to get; He was thankful that Hikari had wanted to come with him. Not just for her company but because she knew more about the different things they needed then he did. He slipped his hands into his pockets and rocked back and forth on his heels a little while he waited for her to find everything.
LaRae held her hand tightly to her side, apply more pressure when he tried to move it. She had no intention of letting him see that she had indeed cut herself too. She sighed softly, gently shutting her eyes. "You wouldn't have been cut had I listened to what I was told in the first place, so it is my fault and I did have to apologize" She said quietly opening her golden eyes and resting them to the side staring at the ground. "...And no, I didn't cut myself. Just my shirt." She was pretty good at bending the truth to cover up a lie or two; So no one would be able to tell that she was fibbing unless her hand was removed from her side. Her hand would have some blood on it from the pressure applied to the cut and then of course you'd see her small cut running down her side. |
Hikari continued to look over the different herbs until finally settling on one. She picked up a little bunch of herbs that mostly consisted of stems with small white flowers at the ends and a mess of leaves all the way up. "Well... this should help a little..." She made a face, "He may gag when he takes it, though." She smiled weakly, "These things are really bitter..." She turned away from the supplies again and looked back to Kyran again, "Well... lets see what we can find as far as clothes go. Let's see... LaRae's about my size, so I think we can find something that will fit her pretty easily. Aamori is a little smaller...we'll have to guess a bit with her." she said thoughtfully.
Nanashi sighed and shook his head. "...Then why are you holding your side so tightly?" he asked simply as he continued to try to gently pull her hand back, though he put a little more effort into it. If nothing else, Nanashi was very observant, and smart enough to put two and two together pretty quickly...on most things a least (as he knew little to nothing about the birds and the bees). "And why wont you let me see if there isn't a cut?" he challenged. |
Kyran smiled slightly when she turned around, talking about the herb. "...That is if we can even get the boy to take the stuff. I don't see him as wanting to, especially since Aamori is the one who asked us to get it." He stated shaking his head softly. "On the off chance he does take it though, we can just not tell him we know it's bitter. Let him find out for himself..." He chuckled lightly. He himself would never take anything that he was told would taste unpleasant. He'd put up a small fight just to keep it out of his mouth and eventually give in if it was something he really needed to take. He stuck his hands out some and waited to take any of the stuff Hikari was carrying. "I can take that stuff, so that you're hands are free" He said quietly, trying to give himself something to do since he really was no good with woman's clothing; Or clothing for that matter.
LaRae shook her head; Still looking to the ground. She wasn't letting up the pressure on her side and tried to keep her hand where it was even with him still trying to pry her hand from her side. "...It's just my bare skin..." She mumbled shifting her glance from the ground to her side. "Do you really want to look at my skin that badly?" Given a few more tugs at her hand, she'd get tired of trying to keep his eyes at bay and let up, making it easier to move her hand. Of course the cut wouldn't be anything too bad; Just a slice into the skin about three inches long. It wasn't bleeding badly, though if touched you couldn't keep the blood from your hands. Her hand would be lightly colored red from trying to hide the cut she'd accidentally made in her own side while trying to keep the knife out of sight. |
Hikari smiled slightly when he offered to take the things. "Alright." she agreed easily enough, handing it over. She glanced around again and then started to move toward the clothes, though it took her a moment to locate them. She walked up to a rack and started to shift through them silently. She doubted that LaRae would like the same things that she did, so she was trying to find something closer to what LaRea had been wearing when she arrived. "Hmm..." She laid her ears back slightly, "...I think these are for men..." she muttered and then looked around again. She sighed, slightly frustrated, "I am not used to shopping..." she admitted. She didn't mind shopping in the least, but that involved her 'mingling with the commoners' so someone else commonly went to get anything that she needed, and most of her clothes she made herself after someone brought her the fabric. That was another little hobby of hers; she liked the sew, surprisingly enough. After a minute she spotted a skirt on another wrack and moved over, "Oh! Here we go."
Nanashi blinked, tilting his head slightly when she asked if he wanted to see her skin that badly. "...What kind of question is that? I see your skin every time i look at your face." he said blankly, "Just let me see, LaRae, you're telling me one thing, but your body language is telling a different story." He gently tugged at her hand again until he finally got it pulled aside and looked down to see the blood on her palm. He sighed and shook his head. Sometimes he wished he'd be wrong on occasion. Slowly he knelt down so that he was nearly at eye level with the cut, "...Well...at least it isn't too deep..." he said softly. He snagged piece of the hanging bandage and started to dab at it lightly. "...You can be so reckless sometimes..." He's only known her for a bout three days and he'd already gathered that much from being around her. She was reckless and stubborn. |
