Hikari sighed softly and nodded her head weakly when he said that the casts could be repaired. "I'll keep that in mind..." she said simply. She had a feeling this wouldn't be the last time that LaRae broke a bone and she had a bad habit of messing with her wounds when she would be better served to leave them alone. She shook her head and just sighed when he told her about Nero. "Why doesn't that surprise me?" she said dully. She was kind of used to Nero doing things like that. "I hope he's at least been keeping though wounds clean..." She sighed again when he said that they weren't intentionally trying to break things. "I know that, Kyran... But it's tiring. I've healed three broken ribs, two broken arms, well...tried to heal two, a broken leg, and a good portion of a pair of broken wings, and we've barely made it halfway through this trip." She closed her eyes again and then cracked them open a little more before she shook her head. "That would be a terribly long trip just for that... I'm just going to have to try to work with someone while we're there and learn how to heal bone more efficiently, I must be doing something wrong because it doesn't wear the healers out like that..." She sighed heavily and then closed her eyes again. "...Don't worry about it, I'll manage." Thus far it seemed that she, Aamori, and Kyran were the only ones that hadn't snapped something along the way.

Kanone stood there patiently while he waited to see if someone was going to answer the door. Normally he would have given up already, but right now he didn't really have anything else to do. He sighed and leaned his head over against the door frame until it finally started to open. Once the handle turned he raised his head a little and then blinked at Nero's greeting. He tilted his head a little, and then smirked slightly. "Would you like me to go roll in some flour and glitter and come back in five minutes?" he asked playfully. He shook his head when he asked if he needed something. "Yes, humor me, I'm bored." he said, rolling his eyes a little. "I just came over to see how you were doing since I haven't seen you since we got back. Has anyone pinned you down and taken a look at you yet?"

Celestine didn't really expect any advice from Nobu on dating. After all, if he'd ever asked a dragon on a date he'd be a little weirded out. He wasn't so sure about his taste considering that he seemed to like the same kind of girl that Kanone would date. Was that good taste or bad taste? Once he heard Aamori's reason for trying to leave he sighed heavily and then glanced away. "...I was...but not at you," he said dully. "Kanone gets on my nerves." He said that as if that should have been perfectly obvious. After all, he'd come dangerously close to kissing her the other night and then turned around and saw Kanone kissing her on the cheek all playfully like he was already dating her. He sighed as he stepped into the other room and led Aamori over to the bed before he went to his bag and fished around inside for a few moments. He found his pipe and pulled it out, laying it on the floor before he started fishing again and then found the comb. He picked up his pipe and dropped it back in on top before he picked up the comb and stood. "Here..." he said simply as he walked over to her and held it out.

Kyran shrugged lightly after she had said that she hoped Nero was keeping the wounds clean. "I think he's smart enough to know he needs to keep them clean, now if he's actually getting up to do that... well... it's beyond me." He paused for a moment and then sighed quietly. "...I wound up having to help him the first time he wrapped his arm up so he may not have wanted to bother re-wrapping it..." He said quietly. He figured that either Nero took the time to try and wrap it himself after cleaning it up or he just left the original wrapping on it. He stared down at Hikari for a moment after she'd gone and listed everything that she'd had to heal since this trip started. He sighed heavily and glanced away. "You make it sound like it's an inconvenience to you or something." He paused. "I know you probably don't mean it to come off that way... but if healing everyone is getting to you, we can start utilizing healers in the territories we're in at the time." Hikari didn't have to do all of the work, all of time. Especially if it was tiring to her. No one even really bothers to ask if she'd mind healing them, she just kind of always started healing you before you could even ask. He glanced back down to her briefly when she said that the trip back to Radha would be long just for supplies from his uncle. He knew that but it was something he was more than willing to do if it'd help Hikari out. "Even if you're going to look into having someone else help you with your healing, if you need more of what my uncle gave you I really don't mind back tracking to get it." He told her. "...and it's kind of hard not to worry about it, even if you tell me not to." He added lastly.

Nero shook his head lightly after hearing the question Kanone asked. "While you're at it you should bleach your hair too." He told him quietly. He continued to stand there for a few moments at least until Kanone had said that he was bored and that he'd come over to see how he was doing. He sighed and pushed his door open the rest of the way before he started to move back over to the bed to sit down. His leg was still hurting him so he didn't want to be on it for too long unless he had no other choice. "Does it look like anyone's pinned me down and taken a look?" He asked sarcastically. "But to answer the question, no. No one's taken a look at me." He answered. "I'm fairly certain that Hikari'd have already been over here pestering me herself if she hadn't had so much to heal that day."

Aamori was a little relieved at least to hear that he wasn't mad at her. She didn't have to do very much to annoy him sometimes so she knew she could've been the cause and not even been paying attention to what she'd done to make him mad. She nodded her head weakly when he said that Kanone got on his nerves. She knew that pretty well too. "...He wasn't coming over to make you mad or anything ...he told me at the other house he wanted to check on Nero..." She told him quietly. She wasn't really trying to stick up for Kanone or anything but originally it was his plan to come over and see Nero, or at least that was what he'd lead her to believe. His coming over here probably could've turned out a lot worse for Celestine. At least Kanone hadn't been informed that Celestine had been sick and then never told about it. She sat down on the bed once Celestine had lead her over to it and let her hand go. She set the brush she still had on the bed beside her and started to gather her hair around in front of her while Celestine was looking for his comb. She glanced briefly over to Esen and then focused on Celestine once he'd come back over with his comb. She reached for his comb and smiled a little. "...Thank you." She told him quietly before eying the comb. She knew already that this was going to be a pain in the rear. She had a lot of hair on her head after all and right about now she really was wishing that it was a little shorter, or at least easier to deal with when it got messed up like this.

Hikari just sighed at what she heard about Nero. Well, the only thing she could really do would be to go rebandage his arm for him if he'd hold still and let her. She opened her eyes again when Kyran said that she made healing them sound like an inconvenience. Well, she didn't mean it that way, but she couldn't say that it was convenient for her. She just sighed as she listened to him and then closed her eyes again. "...It's not that it's inconvenient...it's just tiring...." she said quietly, "I'm a princess, not a trained healer. On a normal day I have a someone butting in to do something before I even get a chance to try to do it myself, so I suppose you can imagine how often I have to heal something. I trained myself to heal, and I'm still learning as I go. There is a certain level of energy that is meant to be used for each spell, and I haven't figured out what it is yet, so I'm always overdoing it a little because I don't want to underdo it. It's not that I mind healing any of you, honestly I'm glad to be useful for once, but it's just been so often lately... No sooner do I heal one person than someone else gets hurt, and LaRae has a nasty habit of making things so much harder than they need to be..." She just sighed, "I just feel drained...I want to curl up and sleep for a month... But I'd rather do that after everyone else is taken care of. It's better to have one person worn out then three injured and liable to hurt themselves worse. Sometimes it just takes too long to get someone else on it. If I'm handy I would rather just get it taken care of then..." She glanced over to him again since he'd mentioned getting more of what his uncle had made. "...Kyran...I told you, I'll manage..." she said gently before she rolled onto her side and moved closer to him, placing her hand on his. "Consider yourselves my guinea pigs..." she said with a weak laugh. "I'll learn to do this right one way or another..."

Kanone raised his hand to his hair when Nero said that he'd have to bleach that too. "Nah, think I'd just have to be the green haired glittery wonder." He smiled slightly at him when he pushed open the door and then stepped inside after him. "You sound so enthused to have a visitor," he commented lightly as he closed the door though after a second he opened it again after apparently deciding he'd kill himself getting across the room in the dark like that. He sighed softly when Nero asked if it looked like anyone had pinned him down. "I dunno, hard to tell when you've been pinned, especially when I can barely see my hand in front of my face." He shook his head a little as he walked over to the bed and sat down near him before he glanced over to him and then sighed. "Yeah...I think I broke her," he said dully. "She stayed in bed all that night, all day the next day, and didn't get up until well after noon the day after that." He glanced back to him again and then smiled, "Well...I'm not a healer, but I can tie a bandage if you need any help."

Celestine nodded slightly to Aamori when she thanked him and then glanced down to the brush. "Oh yeah..." he muttered softly, remembering that he'd promised to wash that for Marius. He felt kind of bad after leaving it out in that rain. He picked it up and took it over to the dresser, setting it down again before he returned back to the bed. He sat down beside her and then looked at her hair before he sighed and reached over to take his comb. "Here..." he said quietly. He had a head full of long, thick hair himself so he was well aware how hard it could be to fix, and considering the wind in his territory, he was pretty used to getting out the knots. He moved his hand up to her hair and started to carefully pick at the bottom of the tangles and then slide the comb down through her hair. At least her hair was straight so it wasn't that hard to deal with.

Esen glanced over to Aamori when she sat down and looked at her and then tilted her head a little before she lowered it back down to the bed again and curled up a little more to give them more bed room. She didn't really mind Aamori being around, at least not when she wasn't being rowdy or anything.

Kyran listened quietly to Hikari while she spoke and then glanced down at her hand once she'd placed hers on top of his. He sighed quietly and then looked over at her. "I know you're a princess and that you're not really a professionally trained healer but, you don't have to heal everyone all of the time. You're tiring yourself out because you're trying to heal every little thing." He started. "I mean... Nero's fine, to our knowledge. He's got some pretty large holes in his leg because of that barracuda's teeth but it hasn't killed him to not have you heal him right away. At worst Nero could possibly have an infection in either his arm or his leg if he hasn't been keeping the wounds cleaned, but even that can be taken care of with time. It really won't kill you not to heal everything and not to heal everything at once." He really felt that Nero would even be fine if Hikari never looked at him. Nero was a military man after all and he had some basic first aid knowledge so he could take care of the wounds he had himself. It'd just be more convenient for Nero to have Hikari heal him because he'd be back to normal a lot sooner. He sighed quietly. "Then with LaRae, her arm may still be broken but it's been temporarily looked after, hasn't it? A couple days time isn't going to do much to her other than keep her in pain. Even if you did have have some energy built back up after you slept as long as you did it's better that you don't go wearing yourself down right away." He glanced away momentarily. "It makes more sense to me for you to rest completely before doing anything than to try and heal before you're ready. You'll just make yourself even more tired." He paused. "Besides, even with a broken arm it doesn't seem to be slowing LaRae down any. Nanashi said she got up earlier and decided she was going to get his coat for him." He told her as he looked over at her again. "At any rate, I guess it wouldn't hurt to remind everyone that you are only one person without professional training and they need to be more careful not to get hurt." He knew some injuries were kind of unavoidable and it was just unfortunate that Hikari was the only person in the group who could handle major healing. At this point he really wished that he had taken the time to learn how to use the stuff his uncle had made. If he'd learned that back when Taro was offering to teach him he'd be able to help relieve Hikari with some of the smaller healing tasks. Even though she kept saying she'd manage and not to worry he couldn't help it. He did care a lot about her so of course he'd prefer the whole healing thing to be easier on her. He was very tempted to go see his uncle again even though Hikari was saying that was too far of a trip. If she was running out of the stuff his uncle gave her and it had been helping her to do as much as she had been doing than he'd rather her have it than wear herself out even faster without it.

Nero stared over at Kanone and shook his head lightly seeing that he had to open the door again so that he could see. He didn't think he kept the room that dark but then again he could see better when he was in a dark space. "You have to understand, my usual visitor at a time like this is bright, white, sparkly, overly cheerful and hovering over me like I'm going to die if she doesn't heal me." He paused. "Now, considering I'm a dark dragon and can't handle bright people very well... do you honestly think I'd be excited about someone knocking at the door." He shrugged lightly. "If you don't like the dark you can always leave. I prefer it dark to begin with and like it even more when I'm hurt." He glanced down at his arm a little after Kanone had mentioned that he could tie a bandage. He hadn't really bothered removing the wrap from his arm that Kyran had helped him with. He'd redone the one on his leg everyday since it got put on the first time but the arm... he hadn't wanted to struggle putting it back on. He shook his head lightly. "...No, it's alright." He told him. He really didn't want to have more help with that. It was bad enough that Kyran had taken the initiative and wrapped up his arm that first night and right now he really didn't want to have Kanone of all people helping him with his arm. He thought for a moment before leaned back a little and reached into his pocket, pulling something out. He reached over and pinched a rather big tooth between his index finger and thumb, holding it out for Kanone to take. "Souvenir. I think you may have joked about a necklace at some point."

Aamori glanced down to the hair brush she'd put beside her once Celestine had said 'oh yeah'. She watched him pick it up and start to take it over to the dresser. "...I found that on the porch outside the other house..." She paused. "I didn't have a brush myself and didn't know anyone else did so it was kind of nice to spot that... even if it did have purple fur in it and kind of smell funny." She said quietly. She stared at him for a moment after he'd sat down beside her and took the comb from her. She nodded her head very weakly after he'd said 'here' and then tried to shift a little in case he was going to have any trouble. She was also looking to get her face turned away from him slightly since she could already tell that her face was blushing. The burn to her cheeks was something she was all too familiar with and having him decide to help with her hair without her even asking him to was more than enough to set off her cheeks. "...Thank you." She mumbled quietly as she absently tilted her head down a little.

Cyndel 04-08-2009 05:34 AM

Hikari sighed again heavily after listening to him again. "I do not try to heal every little thing. These things aren't little..." She drummed her fingers lightly on the back of his hand and looked up at him again, "I don't like leaving people in pain when I can do something about it. Besides it only slows us down even more while we're waiting for everyone to heal. Nero could take weeks to heal those holes on his own, and you know it's going to hurt him to walk on that leg." She sighed heavily, "And I know nothing is going to happen here, but we've been here for weeks already, we're going to have to get going in a few days at least, what if we come across something else that we have to fight?" She shook her head a little and then finally pushed herself up and then leaned her head over lightly against Kyran's shoulder. "...Alright, fine, I worry too much... Still the only wounds anyone had that were small enough that I could avoid healing them were the glass cuts on Aamori's back. I only tried to get everything that I saw on Nanashi because he had already lost too much blood." She sighed again, "So I take it you've seen him. How is he doing, anyway? I haven't really seen too much of anyone."

Kanone laughed when he explained about his usual visitor at this time of day. "Aww... Well she does that to everyone. At least you know she cares." He was kind of used to having someone hover when he was hurt of wish. Sonia was bad about that. "She is a little blinding in the light, but she's not that bad... Think you could stand her if you wore a blind fold?" He shook his head a little at his comment about the dark. "I don't mind the dark...I just can't see anything." He said with a slight laugh. He nodded a little when he said that that he didn't need any help. "Okay... Well, if you change your mind, I don't mind," he said lightly. He glance at him when he noticed him moving and then watched as he pulled something out of his pocket. He laughed when he finally saw the tooth and Nero said it was a souvenir. "Haha, you kept that?" he said as he reached up to take it after he realized that he was holding it out to him. He looked at it for a few moments and then laughed slightly. He fiddled the tooth between is fingers for a moment and then glanced back over to Nero again and smiled. "So what, you want me to string it for you?" he asked lightly. Of course he wouldn't really mind if he had some thing to do it with.

Celestine sighed softly when she told him about the brush. "Yeah...it's Marius' brush... He let me borrow it because Nobu's was starting to look more like a sheep than anything. I promised I'd wash it out when I was finished, but I...got a little side tracked..." He shifted positions and got up on the bed, sitting up on his knees before he continued to work with her hair. He shook his head a little when she thanked him. "...Don't mention it..." he said quietly. He glanced at her for a moment before he moved his hand down to rest against her cheek and then pulled her head a little so he could see her face. "...Why do you start blushing like that every time I get close to you?" he asked quietly before he glanced away, his own cheeks tinting a little pink> it was weird to think that he had the ability to make someone blush just by taking a hold of their hand or combing their hair... Though honestly Aamori had about the same effect on him.

Kyran glanced down at Hikari while she was speaking and sighed softly when she said that it slowed everyone down when they were waiting for others to heal. He sighed quietly. “It also slows us down when you’re too exhausted to move.” He paused. “You were down what, two and a half days?” He shook his head lightly. “Also, with Nero… I never said he’d have to heal on his own completely. Unless you’d rather let him heal normally…” He paused. “Just letting him take care of himself until you’ve got plenty of energy to use for healing is better than trying to conquer every healing task at once, or right away.” He averted his eyes slightly. “Besides, I doubt it’s good for your body if you expend all of your energy only to regain a little and then use it all up again.” He thought so anyway and now that he was thinking about it that may have been why Levana had been adamant against letting Hikari run off and heal LaRae right away. He had no real proof that using energy like that was really bad for the body but he just suspected it was, it kind of made sense to him after all. He looked back down at her once she’d lifted herself up and rested her head against his shoulder. He continued to listen to her and then sighed quietly. He hadn’t really meant for anything he had said to come across as she didn’t need to go healing everyone. It was more a, she didn’t need to go healing everyone all at once or right away. Once she’d regained all of her energy, by all means she could finish what she started. He glanced towards the bedroom door briefly after she asked how Nanashi was doing. “Nanashi seems to be alright for the most part. He is of course very fatigued and I think he’s trying to get used to moving upright all on his own again.” He paused. “When we were out on the porch he didn’t really move very much unless he had something to brace himself against and I somewhat doubt that he is going to come inside until LaRae comes back.” He shook his head lightly. “He led me to believe that she’s been gone for a little longer than he expected. I think I’m going to want to go and check on him every so often, mostly because he isn’t feeling completely like his usual self and the last thing we need is him trying to go off on his own or something and try to find her just because she didn’t come back here right away.”

Nero shook his head after hearing Kanone say that Hikari wasn’t that bad. Boy was he wrong. Hikari may not have been that bad to Kanone or anyone else in the group but to him, it was almost torture on his eyes at certain times during the day. His eyes were almost the complete opposite of any other clans. In the dark his sight was great and he rarely had any trouble seeing or getting around but in the light, that was a whole different story. He could still see in the light but without his special glasses it was a bit impaired. He could navigate alright but throw something brighter than usual, shiny or sparkly… pretty much anything that reflected light in any way, shape or form and he was screwed. It’d hurt his eyes and make it all that much harder to see for a few minutes. It was blinding and rightfully annoying. He couldn’t help thinking that it would be nice to trade eyes with Kanone for a day or so and let him be around Hikari and see just how bad it really was. “Just like you can’t see anything in the dark, I can’t see anything in the light.” He commented quietly. “To be more specific… too much light or reflected light and it can blind me… so your little wisecrack about the blindfold isn’t far off. I’d save my eyes a great deal of hurt with one but it’d be just as blind as if I were staring at the girl in the brightest sun.” He shook his head lightly and then looked back over at Kanone for a moment once he’d finally taken the tooth from him. He stared at him for a moment after he asked if he wanted him to string it. He shook his head. “Not particularly.” He answered. “…That was your first life or death battle outside of Caledonia, was it not?” He paused. “When I said souvenir, I didn’t mean for me.” He added lastly.

Aamori kept quiet and listened to his explanation about the brush that she had found. Of course she thought briefly about commenting on his poor job of keeping his promise. The brush still had a little of Nobu’s fur in it and thanks to it being out in the rain like it had, well, it kind of smelt bad. It’d take a fair amount of washing to make that wet dog scent go away. She kept that to herself of course. Since he’d already been made angry by Kanone she didn’t want to say anything that could set him off. At the same time she didn’t really see herself getting that thought out coherently. She continued to sit there quietly while Celestine worked on her hair, trying her best not to lift her head or even focus too much on the fact that he was combing her hair. Trying not to lift her head was practically futile once he had touched her cheek and started to lift her head so that he could see her face. Of course as soon as he touched her cheek the color tinting her cheeks had only worsened. She stared at him for a moment once he’d lifted her head enough that he could see. Her cheeks reddened even more after the question that he asked. That was mostly due to him noticing that she’d been blushing right then and apparently he’d noticed during other times as well. She more than likely resembled a deer in headlights for a few moments before she finally broke eye contact and forced her head down again. Hearing him ask that startled her slightly. She couldn’t help wondering if she’d just imagined the other day on the beach. It wouldn’t surprise her really, especially since just before that she had to be resuscitated. Maybe her brain wasn’t quite back to its usual self and it was playing tricks on her? That might explain why he had to ask such a question. Especially when it should have been obvious why she was blushing like she was. It was obvious to her at least. She liked him and apparently it wasn’t as obvious as it felt to her. She sighed quietly. She didn’t really know how to answer his question and she didn’t want to feel like a dunce by coming right out and saying that she liked him, even if that sounded like it might be the simplest way to go about things. She continued to keep her mouth pinned shut. She kind of wished that she hadn’t been put on the spot like that and she couldn’t help thinking that if she ignored it maybe the question would just go away.

Cyndel 04-09-2009 04:26 AM

Hikari sighed softly and shook her head a little. She had a feeling she would have to sit on Nero if she wanted to heal him at all. "Alright...fine fine..." she said quietly. She wasn't too sure how using all of her energy effected her body other than making her tired all of the time. She hadn't even put a lot of thought into that, but it didn't really matter to her. She still thought that it would be easier on everyone else if she could heal them. Even if she was tired she could still walk and if she couldn't well...at least she was light enough to be carried pretty easily by any one of the guys except for Celestine. She nodded her head slightly when he told her about Nanashi. She wasn't surprised at all to hear that Nanashi was fatigued. "Yes, I'm sure he will be fatigued for a while. I'm surprised to hear that he's even out of bed." She nodded a little after hearing that he wanted to check on him every now and them. "Yes...that might be a good idea... But I would like to think that he knows better than to go looking for her right now. Even with a broken arm she's in better shape to be wandering around than he is." Especially considering where they were at current.

Kanone smiled slightly as he listened and then shook his head a little. "Sounds rough... But I meant her personality isn't that bad... I know she's bright, she's nearly blinded me once or twice." He chuckled softly and then sighed, "It's always pretty bright around here. I'm surprised you can even see at all after walking outside... I feel sorry for you if it snows. Talk about going snow blind." He glanced down to the tooth again and half smiled when Nero said it was a souvenir for him. "Aww well thanks... This is pretty much my first anything outside of Caledonia." He laughed slightly, "But I think Celestine would probably smack me if I made a necklace out of this. He's kind of finicky about that sort of thing... of course then again I didn't kill it for a tooth so he may not care." He looked back to Nero and smiled at him. "Haha... You're not so bad. And here you nearly scared the crap out of me the first time we met. Is there a reason you look so grumpy all the time?"

Celestine just continued to run the comb down through her hair carefully and then sighed when she didn't answer his question. He continued to work without saying a word before he finally sighed. "...You're not going to answer me?" he asked quietly. He moved a little closer to her and then leaned down so that his face was a little closer to hers. "...Tell me something..." he said quietly, "...Do you like Kanone?" he asked finally. Maybe that would be the easiest way to go about this. Every other girl that he liked ended up falling for Kanone or apparently falling for her. Usually they'd date for a week or three and then break up, but after they dated he really didn't want to pick up Kanone's ex's. He really hoped that Aamori wasn't really attracted to Kanone. At least maybe then he would have some kind of an opening that Kanone wouldn't stick his nose in. It was no real secret that Kanone liked Aamori, and judging by the way she blushed when he kissed her cheek he was afraid she liked him, too... though she also did the same thing when he kissed her cheek, so maybe that was just the way she reacted to everyone. He just sat there, waiting quietly for a verbal answer while those large emerald eyes bored into hers as if looking to make sure she was telling the truth.

Yotsy 04-09-2009 07:37 AM

Kyran nodded his head slightly. "I think most people would be, or are surprised to see him up and out of bed. I know I was a little surprised." He was honestly a little surprised to see Nanashi up and about, all things considered. He glanced over to Hikari momentarily and then sighed quietly. "I'd like to think that too, but if she's gone for too long and it starts to get to him you know he's going to want to go look for her whether he's in the shape to go looking or not." At least he was almost one hundred percent positive that Nanashi would want to go look for her. If anything he might ask someone else to do it. He finally caved in a bit and shifted so that his arms were behind him and then carefully set himself back on the bed. It was at least a little less straining to lay down on the bed rather than to sit upright. He looked back over at Hikari once he was laying back. "...Oh, Kanone's up and moving too." He paused. "He seems to be back to his usual self too... Aamori's hair could easily vouch for that." He said with a quiet laugh.

Nero looked over at Kanone for a moment and then shook his head. "Her personality is almost as bright as she is." He commented. He stared over at Kanone briefly after he said he felt sorry for him if it snows. If it ever did snow he hoped he'd gotten a chance to get his specially made glasses by then to help block out the light. "If you hadn't noticed I've limited the amount of time I've spent outside for that reason. I can only handle the light reflecting off the water and the white sands for so long before I'd rather just gouge my eyes out." He paused. "I'd love to say I'm eagerly awaiting the day we leave here but the next territory doesn't look very promising for my eyes either." He said dully. "You don't really have to make that into a necklace you know. It does fit perfectly well into a pocket... but whatever floats your boat." He wasn't all that fond of necklaces so his opinion on what to do with the tooth wasn't exactly unbiased. "Celestine has no right to say a word to you about that tooth." He paused. "That fish practically gave me that tooth when he bit me." He muttered quietly. He still couldn't believe that stupid fish managed to not only bite him but get a hold of his leg as well as he had. He turned his head slightly and stared over at Kanone from the corner of his eye once he'd heard him say that he wasn't so bad. He shook his head a little at the following question. Of course something like that was going to be asked. After all he was openly talking with Kanone and not exactly being an ass about it. "...If anything it's most likely an illogical reason." He paused. "But as far as anyone is concerned I look grumpy because that's just the way I am and it's better that my first impression on people is a scary one."

Aamori continued to keep quiet even when he wound up asking if she wasn't going to answer him. She didn't really have any intention of making a fool of herself on the off chance that her feelings were one sided. She really would've felt safer answering that if he'd already mentioned something himself about how he felt. She lifted her eyes slightly when she noticed him moving and immediately thought about scooting away a little since he'd gotten so close. Considering the previous question his closeness made her a little uncomfortable, especially since she wasn't answering it. She looked over at him a little when she heard that he wanted her to tell him something. Of course she was a bit nervous now thanks to that. She nearly choked on her breath when he asked if she liked Kanone. She started to glance over at him a little but stopped herself and tried her best to avert her eyes. He was doing a fine job of making her feel like there was no escaping giving him an answer. She was quiet for a few moments while she thought about it. She did kind of like Kanone but she liked Celestine more and if it came right down to it she'd probably only shift her complete interest over to Kanone if Celestine didn't like her. She sighed quietly, sounding a little defeated. She knew she needed to give him some sort of answer and at least this one wasn't quite as direct as the other one appeared to be. "....Kind of...." She paused. "But... he isn't... my first... choice..." She mumbled quietly. That did answer his question and she was at least telling the truth.

Hikari sighed softly, "Yes... I suppose it is a little early for him to be up... I just hope he isn't trying to push himself too much. His body has been through a lot of stress the past week or so, I don't know how much he needs to be up right now." She would hate to think about him wandering around looking for LaRae. "Well...let's just hope that she comes back sometime soon before he gets too worried..." She watched as he laid down and then half smiled before she laid back as well and then offered him a slight smile. She laughed softly when he told her about Kanone. "Well, that good... I hope he's being careful with that rib... the bones are reconnected but it will still be a while before the bones are strong enough to withstand a lot of pressure... I wasn't able to completely finish."

Kanone laughed slightly at his comment about Hikari's personality and then raised a hand to motion at the darkened room. "Believe me, buddy, I noticed," he assured him when he said that he'd been limiting his time outside. He nodded slightly when he said that it would fit into a pocket, "Yeah but....with my pants it'd be a tight fit. These pockets are almost just for show." The pockets in nearly all of his pants were very shallow and hard to get anything into or out of. "Plus I'm be less likely to lose it if it was around my neck. Besides...it looks kinda cool." Obviously he was favoring the necklace idea a little more. He laughed a little when he said that Celestine didn't have a right to say anything about the tooth. "Haha I know, but still...that's my cousin for you. I'd say the only reason he wouldn't say anything is because he knows perfectly well where it came from." Still he had a feeling he wouldn't like the idea of making a decoration out of it. He listened to his answer to his question and then laughed again softly. "You're right, it's illogical," he agreed, "You're not grumpy all of the time. Or...well maybe you are and I"m too stupid to realize it, but either way." He laughed softly, "I suppose if you enjoy scaring people away I'm probably doing a fine job of driving you up the wall."

Celestine was silently as he waited for an answer though when she did answer him he sighed and averted his eyes, looking disappointed that she did kind of like him. He glanced back to her when she mentioned that he wasn't her first choice. He looked at her for a few moments and then lowered his eyes again. "Oh..." he said simply before he pulled away and started to run the comb through her hair. He was silent again as he thought and then closed his eyes again. He knew how Aamori's brother was, but there were only so many guys that Aamori had been around. Finally he just gave up and asked the question he was dying to know the answer to. "...Who's the first?" he asked quietly. He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to know the answer. He wasn't right in her face anymore and he was barely even looking at her at all as he continued to work with her hair carefully. He hoped that she would say it was him, but he really wasn't sure if he expected to hear it. He knew it was going to be like a punch to the gut if she named off someone else, so he was trying to prepare himself for it. After all, he'd never really pressed a girl for information like this before, and just like her he was too afraid to say that he liked her and then get rejected.

Yotsy 04-09-2009 06:12 PM

Kyran turned his head to the side and looked over at Hikari since she'd laid down beside him. "You didn't finish completely?" He questioned. "You honestly couldn't tell by looking at him..." He paused. "...Maybe he should be reminded to be a little mindful of that rib for a little while, once you see him." He turned his head back so that he was staring at the ceiling. "We really don't need him doing something to undo all of that work you did the other night." He laid there for a moment trying to figure out who he hadn't already told her about. She had missed a little bit while she was asleep and now that he was thinking about it there was a tidbit of knowledge that didn't get passed around a whole lot because of Celestine. "I don't know if you'd been told or found out for yourself, but Celestine had managed to get himself sick the other day. A fever and everything that usually accompanies a cold. He apparently wound up leaving the island and falling asleep somewhere outside until it started pouring."

Nero glanced back over at Kanone after he continued on about the necklace idea and Celestine possibly being against it. He shook his head lightly. "I don't see where Celestine could have anything to say to you if you want to make that into a necklace. Sure it was a fish at some point but it also became humanoid... and it tired to kill everyone." He sighed quietly. "I mean at least you aren't going to be running around with a dragon tooth necklace on like someone we know." He didn't really have anything against Nanashi's choice of jewelry but he did hope like there was no tomorrow that there was a good reason for him wearing a dragon's tooth around his neck. "Unfortunately I'm not always grumpy. That's more or less everyone elses interpretation. I scare and or creep out most people so they don't ever pay enough attention to me to notice that I'm not always a grump." He shook his head lightly. "So far it looks like you've found this out and I think Hikari's working on it." He sighed quietly. "My bluntness and tone I think is what makes everyone think I'm grumpy but like I said, it's better that way." He shook his head again. "Honestly, what dark clan dragon in their right mind would be friendly towards a dragon from any other clan?" He wasn't really looking for an answer, that was more or less his illogical reason behind everything.

Aamori sat there quietly a little embarrassed after answering that question and admitting to Celestine that she did kind of like his cousin. Now that she was thinking about it that probably wasn't the best thing to say to him but she couldn't bring herself to lie to him. Especially with how close he had been to her when he asked. It was quite a bit difficult not to tell him the truth in that situation. She glanced over at him a little from the corner of her eye once he had pulled away and gone back to running the comb through her hair. She hadn't gotten a good look at him so she wasn't able to tell very well how he took her answer. She guessed since he'd moved away and the only thing he'd said was 'oh' that he wasn't thrilled to hear that she liked his cousin. She continued to sit there quietly with her eyes lowered. She hadn't thought he was going to say anything else, at least not on the subject so she was honestly surprised to hear his question about who was the first. Her breath caught in her throat and it took her a moment to remember to breathe again. He was doing a fine job of putting her on the spot today. She continued to sit there quietly for a moment before deciding that it was probably easier to just answer the question rather than avoid it only to have him ask again in some other way. She sighed quietly and continued to keep her eyes averted, mostly so that she wouldn't have to see the rejection. Hearing it was going to be hard enough as it was she didn't want to see it on his face as well. She sat there for a few moments longer before she finally got around to answering his question. "......You......" She told him quietly, practically low enough to qualify as a whisper. Of course after the word escaped her lips her cheeks tinted red all over again.

Cyndel 04-09-2009 11:42 PM

Hikari shook her head a little when Kyran said that you couldn't tell that she hadn't finished. "Well...the rib is healed enough that it isn't moving about anymore, so it shouldn't be causing him any pain, but if anything hits him in that area with even half of the force of what Nero hit him with it's liable to snap again." She nodded a little to agree that someone should probably remind him, but she was pretty sure he would be alright so long as he didn't get too rough. She was quiet while Kyran thought and then tilted her head a little and sighed heavily when she heard that Celestine had managed to get himself sick. "Is he alright now?" she asked curiously, "What in the world was he doing sleeping outside? ...And when did it rain?" she asked before rubbing her head a little. Clearly she'd missed the entire thunder storm, though how anyone could sleep through that thunder probably would have been beyond her if she hadn't been the one to do it.

Kanone laughed again softly as he listened to Nero talk about the fish. "Eh... Varun was just doing his self-proclaimed job," he said simply, "I don't know, Celestine's a little odd. It's hard to tell what he's going to do sometimes. He could jump down your throat over something one time and completely ignore it the next." He raised his eyebrow at the mention of the dragon tooth necklace and then sat there for a moment, actually having to think about who he meant. "...Oh, you mean Nanashi? Heh, I guess... I don't see him having killed anything for it. It looks more like a baby tooth to me, it's kinda small." Kanone laughed again softly after what he said about his grumpy nature. "Well, remember who I had to deal with for years. I'm kind of used to the whole blunt and grouchy attitude. You'd think you and Celestine would get along well." He tilted his head a little at his last comment and then smiled slightly. "Why not? Is it against your laws to be friends with anyone who doesn't look and think like you?" He chuckled softly and then shook his head, "I can't say too much, I've never stepped foot out of Caledonia until I came to follow you guys, but I don't really see why we can't all get along until someone gives us a good reason not to like them." He looked back to him again and just gave him a friendly smile, "Ya know?"

Celestine was silent as he waited for her to answer, though from the way her breath caught he assumed that she didn't really want to answer that question. He didn't know if she realized that he liked her and didn't want to tell him that she liked someone else or what. He was almost regretting asking the question now. He forced himself to keep breathing and brushing her hair normally, even though he half wanted to bolt out of the room. His hand slid down her hair to her shoulder again after she did finally answer him and then came to a stop and he just sat there, staring wide eyed at the sheet. He didn't say a word or even move for a moment as his own cheeks flooded with color. Had he heard that right? Did a girl actually chose him over Kanone? He glanced over to Esen when he saw her moving off of the bed and then he finally looked back to Aamori again. He laid the comb down and then raised his arms to wrap around her, pulling her closer before he raised his hand to her face again. He pressed it to her cheek gently like he had before and pulled her face around so that he could see it. Without really thinking about it, he leaned closer and closed his eyes and he leaned his head over and came to a stop just shy over her lips before he finally pressed his against hers lightly. He stayed there for a few seconds before he finally remembered that he needed to breathe and pulled back a little, taking a deep breath before he opened his eyes again to glance up at her. His cheeks were near scarlet by now, but he didn't pull away from her. Apparently part of him just wanted to pick up where they'd left off at the beach before anything else could interrupt them.

Esen raised her head a little after hearing Aamori's answer and then slowly got up and shimmied off the bed before she started to move toward the door. 'I'll just leave you two alone...' she thought, mostly to herself. She slipped out of the room and then walked across the hallway to the room that Nobu had occupied before she came to a stop by the bed and curled up in the floor. She chuckled softly and then shook her head. 'Those two are so cute.'

Yotsy 04-10-2009 04:34 AM

Kyran looked back over at Hikari. "I don't think he's going to go getting into anything that would result in that same area being hit again. I'd like to think he isn't stupid enough to put himself in any danger. So I don't think he'll have to worry about snapping the bone again. Or at least I really hope not." He laid there for a moment before he straightened up his head and stared at the ceiling again. He nodded his head a little since she'd asked if Celestine was alright now. "Yes, I think so... anyway." He paused. "He seems to be a lot better off than he was the first day that he showed up on the porch with Esen while running a fever." He turned his head very slightly so that he could see her a little. "He wound up leaving the island for some reason or another." He started. He couldn't remember at the moment if he'd been told or not why he'd left. "I don't really know why he was sleeping outside, or where, but I think he just happened to fall asleep. It may not have been intentional." He paused. "It started raining rather suddenly the night after we showed up here. It was more a storm than just rain since there was thunder and lightning too. Thanks to the storm I actually slept a little better than I had been."

Nero nodded his head weakly in agreement. He couldn't see Nanashi having killed for that tooth he was wearing, even if it was small like a baby tooth. Nanashi couldn't even defend himself at the festival so it was just impossible that Nanashi had done anything to earn him that tooth. He looked over at Kanone briefly after he said that you'd think he and Celestine would get along well. "When you're blunt and grouchy at the same time I don't think you handle other people just like you very well." He paused. "Sometimes a blunt person doesn't handle someone else always being blunt with them." He said quietly. He could handle someone else being blunt with him to some extent but sometimes it did get annoying. He shook his head lightly. "...In my profession, it's better not to become to buddy-buddy with members of clans that we may very well go to war with at some point." He paused. "Besides.... I led others and they aren't going to want to listen to me if I'm friends with people from other clans. Unfortunately they will all think I've gone soft." It really was mostly about keeping up appearances. If he didn't have to keep that intact he'd probably be a lot more open with people and so far he couldn't help being friendly towards Kanone. At least it was only one person out of the seven others.

Aamori continued to sit there quietly after she'd answered his question. She couldn't help the urge to want to bury her head under a blanket or something, especially since he hadn't said anything in response. She startled slightly once he had wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer. Her face only felt warmer to her after she felt his hand to her cheek, moving her face. She just kind of stared at him for a moment until he leaned closer and then even closer still. Her heart rate had picked up considerably with his getting as close as he had and she shut her eyes as her breath caught once he'd pressed his lips to hers. She took a breath herself once he had pulled back a little. She couldn't help but smile a little before she finally started to crack her eyes open a little. She was pretty sure that it was now safe to assume that he liked her too, or at least she couldn't see him actually kissing her if he didn't like her. Now that she was thinking about it that was the first time that any boy had kissed her on the lips rather than the cheek. By now her cheeks were most likely as red as they could possibly get and she was currently rather lost for words.

Nobu started to lift his head a little after Esen was well into the room. He watched her curl up on the floor and then lowered his head back down. '...Those two?' He paused. 'You mean Aamori and Celestine?' He asked as he looked down at her a little. He hadn't been paying any attention to those two at all even though he could have. If he had wanted to it wouldn't have taken very much work for him to shift enough on the bed that he could've seen straight across the hall into the other room but at the time he'd been content just laying where he was while it was quiet. '...and you know you didn't have to lay on the floor. The bed is plenty big enough for the both of us.'

Cyndel 04-10-2009 08:28 AM

Hikari nodded slightly in agreement when Kyran said that he didn't think Kanone would get hit in the same area again. Well, all she could do was hope not. If he did she'd just have to fix it again. She sighed softly in relief when she herd that Celestine was doing better. She shook her head a little after hearing that Celestine had just fallen asleep somewhere outside and gotten stick int he storm. "Oh boy..." She had a feeling there was a long story behind all of that. She chuckled a little when he said that he'd slept better than he had in a while because of the storm. "Haha...Only, you..." she said quietly before she rolled onto her side and draped her arm gently over his middle. "I missed a lot while I was sleeping, I guess..."

Kanone laughed softly when he said that you didn't always get alone with someone just like you very well. "Well, I guess that's understandable," he said lightly. Maybe that was why he got along with nearly everyone so well. He sighed softly when he heard his real reason for not wanting to be friendly with everyone else. He smiled weakly and shook his head a little. "...That doesn't make very much sense to me... If you're not at war, what does it matter? If you are, well...you're just doing your job, I guess. I don't see what it matter what color your friend's scales are. That doesn't make a person soft, it just doesn't make them pig-headed." He smiled slightly at him and then shook his head a little. "But hey, who am I to question your logic?" He raised his hand to rest on his shoulder and winked, "I'll still be your friend when no one's looking if you want, even if our clans decide they hate each other at some point. If that ever happens, guess we'll get to see who punches harder." He chucked again and then pulled his hand back down to his lap and started fiddling with the tooth again.

Celestine averted his eyes a little after he noticed the color of Aamori's face matched his own and then leaned forward again slowly and pressed his lips to hers again, a little more firmly this time. Once he pulled away while time he slowly lowered his hand away from her cheek and then wrapped his arms around her again and leaned his head against hers. He still hadn't said a word, mostly because hew as about as lost for words as she was. "...I....I'm sorry..." he said finally since he'd just kissed her out of the blue. As reckless as he was with his words he thought it was easier to just show how he felt rather than try to explain it. "I've...never had a girlfriend...I...don't really...I mean....I...I've...never tried to ask...a girl...to...be my..." He closed his eyes tightly again, is face burning even worse, "This is awkward..." he said so quietly it barely qualified as a whisper. He slowly lowered his arms from her and sat back a little, and started to raise the comb again just so he could have something to do. He went right back to working with Aamori's hair, carefully trying to work his way around to the back.

Esen raised her head again and chuckled softly at Nobu. 'Yes, Celestine and Aamori...' she answered easily. She looked up again when Nobu said that she didn't have to lay in the floor. 'Oh...thanks,' she responded quietly before she stood up and hopped up onto the bed again and curled up to get comfortable, laying her head on her paws again. 'Ha ha what in the world did you do to him? I haven't seen him he quite so bold before.'

Yotsy 04-10-2009 06:14 PM

Kyran smiled as he looked over at Hikari after she'd rolled onto her side and draped her arm over him. "You didn't miss anything important, I assure you." He told her quietly. He shifted slightly so that he could put his one arm around her. He stared over at her for a few moments finding that he was starting to run out of things to talk about. Considering everything that had gone on lately it was a little hard to believe that there wasn't too much more to say. He sighed quietly and just laid their without saying anything for a few minutes. After awhile he finally thought of something to bring up, something that he was actually a bit curious about. "...We're headed to your territory next." He started. "I know things are going to be a bit different once we're there." He paused. "Are you planning to forewarn everyone who doesn't know, I mean... about who you are... or are you just going to freak them all out by showing them you live in a palace?" He asked curiously.

Nero stared over at Kanone for a moment before he sighed heavily and shook his head. "Our clan is always at war with every other clan even if there isn't a physical war going on." He muttered. Honestly the dark clan really didn't get along with any of the other clans, or at least that's how they preferred it to look. After all they'd be much happier if Arienh as a whole was under their control. He glanced away. "I personally don't mind too much what color a person's scales are, if I like you, I like you. But the dark clan doesn't approve of logic like that. It's more or less a 'hate all other clans' or be rejected and being a reject is nearly as bad as being like Nanashi." He sighed quietly. "Not to mention I'd disgrace my father and everything he's done for our clan by being friendly towards anyone without black scales." He shook his head lightly. "It's really all about pleasing my father and keeping up appearances." He stared down at Kanone's hand briefly when he touched his shoulder and then shook his head again. "I'm pretty sure we already know who hits harder. You had a broken rib and a nasty bruise to prove it." He paused. "Or do I need to hit you again to make you remember?" He joked of course. He wouldn't dare hit Kanone again, at least not so soon after Hikari had looked at him.

Aamori couldn't help but lean into his second kiss a little bit. She was actually really happy that he'd chosen to tell her how he felt this way, rather than to just say it. She stared at him for a moment once he'd started to pull away and lower his hand. She smiled after he had wrapped his arms around her again. She started to shake her head lightly after he had said that he was sorry. She didn't think that he had any reason to apologize. Her face was already as red as it could possibly get so unfortunately there wasn't going to be any difference in her cheeks while she listened to him stumble around what he was trying to say. She quite honestly would probably have been having trouble getting anything said herself, especially since she'd never had any relationship experience whatsoever. Her brother really did do a nice job up until now of keeping the boys at bay. She was still quiet when he started to lower his arms from her and sat back. She couldn't help but look over at him even though he'd gone right back to running his comb through her hair. She stared at him for a moment before lowering her eyes to her lap. "...I..." She paused. "...I was ...afraid you ....didn't ...share my ...feelings..." She admitted quietly. She still didn't really know what to say to him and he hadn't completely gotten his thought out before so she wasn't sure how to respond to that. She was fairly certain that she probably could've just said 'yes' and that may have sufficed to answer what he was trying to get across.

Nobu watched as Esen got up onto the bed and then laid his head back down. 'Bold? What did he do?' He asked rather curiously. 'and to my knowledge I didn't do anything to Celestine... Kanone on the other hand...' He shook his head a little. 'Kanone kind of upset Celestine a bit because he kissed Aamori on the cheek right in front of him.' He offered up so that Esen wouldn't have to ask.

Cyndel 04-10-2009 07:48 PM

Hikari closed her eyes while Kyran was laying there in silence, but she opened them again when he spoke and looked at his face. She sighed when he said that things were going to be a bit different in her territory. "A bit?" she laughed humorlessly and then sighed. "Well...to be honest, I had no real intention of making you all suffer through the whole palace thing. I need to sneak in and get a map but beyond that there is no real reason that we would need to go there, it would just be more trouble than it was worth." She sighed again, "Of course then if they caught me before I got out that plan would go out the window, so I guess I would have to send someone to come get the rest of you. If we stay at the palace leaving is going to be a pain, as is doing much of anything else. They're as bad with me as they are with Aamori, if not worse, only I'm not woken up at the crack of dawn for training." She smiled a little, "Nero, Celestine, and Kanone are the only ones who don't know who I really am thanks to you and your big mouth," she said playfully, "If it comes to it, I think I'd rather see if anyone's jaw hits the ground. It could be a little amusing."

Kanone listened silently to Nero's explanation about his clan and then sighed softly and shook his head a little. "Politics like that are why Arienh's gone to hell in a hand basket..." he said quietly, "Everyone's been at each other's throats for eons, and frankly, I don't think anyone even really remembers why. Seems like just about everyone anymore is against someone, hell even Celestine pretty much hates any earth dragons he sees, or did at least. Seems like he and LaRae have sorted things out a bit. I just don't really get why all everyone wants to do is fight." He smiled a little, "Of course I guess being too laid back and trying to stay out of it doesn't pay off very well either. Look at us, my clan's dropping like flies." He laughed nervously when Nero mentioned punching him again to remind him who punched harder. "Thaaaaaaaatsss okaaaaaayyyy......heh..." he said with a slight laugh. "But in my defense...I've never punched you." After a moment he just shook his head and sighed. "So...why do you think everyone's out to get each other or are you about as knowledgeable on that as I am?"

Celestine shifted around so that he was sitting behind Aamori after a moment and continued to try to concentrate on working the kinks out of Aamori's hair. This was really taking a lot longer than it should have but only because he was trying to be especially careful not to pull her hair since he didn't want to have her crying. He remained silent as he listened to her and then sighed softly, averting his eyes, even though he couldn't see her face anymore to begin with. "...I wasn't sure you had any..." he said quietly, "...As well as...you and Kanone get along... At last...not really....until the beach..." He knew she'd stayed right by him when he'd been injured before, but that could have very easily just been because she felt guilty about what had happened. Of course he never once tried to make her feel guilty over that, he never even really tried to bring it up at all. It was easier to just pretend it never happened. "...That's just...usually how it goes..." he said softly. He got the back of her hair smoothed out pretty easily before he shifted around to her other side and started to work on that part.

Esen looked over to Nobu again and then shook her head a little. 'Well, that might have gotten to him...' she responded. 'He was just fighting for information and embarrassing Aamori to death.' She chuckled softly and then shook her head a little. 'He asked her if she liked Kanone and didn't leave her much room to avoid the question... She said that she sort of liked him but he wasn't her first choice.' She looked back toward the door again wagged her tails a little, 'I think Celestine may have gotten himself a girlfriend.'

Yotsy 04-10-2009 11:08 PM

Kyran listened to Hikari quietly while she answered his question. Once she had finished answering he looked over at her. “I suppose getting all involved with the palace would be a bit troublesome.”He paused. “After all, we got caught up in Aamori's life here and she got stuck with all of that training and whatnot. We probably could've been in and out of Kairava a lot faster had we not been caught up in her... home life? I guess that's a decent enough word for it.” He sighed quietly. “Well, I hope that you're stealthy enough to get in and out without anyone noticing you.” He paused and laughed quietly. “I'd actually hate to think it was possible for you to do that... I mean... the guards in the palace aren't slacking off enough for even you, who knows that place better than anyone, to be able to do that are they?” He stared over at her after she'd named off everyone who didn't know about her and then joked about his big mouth. He shook his head lightly. “I don't have that big a mouth... I only answered LaRae's question and Nanashi happened to be right there.” He paused and then smirked slightly. “I never told Aamori so does that mean you opened your big mouth and spilled it to her?”

Nero nodded his head slightly while Kanone was talking. He had to agree that Arienh had pretty much gone to hell. He also had to agree that he didn't think anyone remembers why the clans fought like they did. He shrugged his shoulders slightly. “Fighting is pretty much all anyone these days really knows... well... unless you’re like Nanashi and can't even defend yourself.” He glanced over at Kanone briefly. “It's pretty natural for a wind and earth dragon to not like each other. Just like, theoretically, Hikari and I should be at each other’s throats all of the time. I also think the only reason Aamori is even friendly towards Nanashi is because he's a half-breed. He can't really cause her any harm so she doesn't have a reason to fear him, but most water dragons I've heard are pretty frightened of fire dragons.” He paused. “It's just kind of natural for every clan to have enemies. But you know that.” He shrugged again lightly after looking over at Kanone. “I can't speak for the other territories, only my own. My clan is mostly out to be on top. There isn't any length they won't go to in order to be the strongest clan. It's really nothing more than an 'I'm better than you' complex if you ask me.” He paused momentarily. “The only other clan that I know of that's similar to mine is the earth clan. They're not far off from the same 'I'm better than you' complex as my clan. Although, I think that clan's a little more underhanded than mine...”

Aamori barely moved an inch while Celestine continued to work through her hair. It was certainly a lot nicer having someone else do it for her and she was thankful that he was being mindful of her tender head. Most people probably wouldn’t have even thought of that and just gone through her hair like they would have if it had been their own. She was a little glad that he’d been working on the back of her hair while he was talking; she was getting a reprieve from having to look at him. Not that she didn’t mind looking at him but at current with her face as red as it was it was almost embarrassing. She could honestly say that aside from the beach she hadn’t really been aware that Celestine had liked her and up until he mentioned the beach just then she’d actually kind of thought that she had imagined all that went on while they were on the beach. She sighed quietly. “Sure… Kanone and I get along…. but… I think that’s only… well… we’re a lot alike… when I’m not concerned… with acting my age…” She paused. “It’s kind… of… nice… to have someone around… to joke around with… and well… act like an idiot in front of… who’s willing to joke back…” She did kind of like Kanone and she did thoroughly enjoy messing around with him and acting like a kid but she did like Celestine more. Even if Celestine didn’t play around with her like Kanone did it was kind of nice having someone to be with who wasn’t practically the exact same as her personality wise and as bad as it sounded, Kanone was the second choice, the runner up for lack of better words if Celestine hadn’t been interested in her. She sat there for a few moments, at least until Celestine had finished combing out the back portion of her hair. She didn’t move her head but she did shift her eyes to the side as if she was trying to look at him. “…In Caledonia…” She started, quietly. “…Kanone, he told me …that you liked me…” She paused and sighed softly. “I… well… I didn’t believe him…” She really hadn’t. She’d kind of been stuck in a ‘he couldn’t possibly like me’ rut and with as outspoken as Celestine could be she had kind of figured that he’d have said something if he was truly interested in her. She sat there for a moment and then let out a slightly heavier sigh. “…To think…” She paused. “A lot of… wondering… could have been avoided… if… I had just… believed him…”

Nobu looked over at Esen a little once she started to answer his question. While she was answering he couldn’t help thinking that he’d missed something that probably was quite amusing. He kind of wished he’d gotten up off the bed and followed Celestine, rather than just lay in the bed the whole time. ’I can’t believe I missed something like that…’ He said quietly. ’...I guess he could only handle so much of Aamori and Kanone getting chummy before it finally got to him. I really do think that last kiss to her cheek was what did it, maybe on top of my telling him that Kanone was probably doing it to make him mad… and because he hadn’t made any move yet.’ He shook his head lightly. ’Celestine asked me how he was supposed to make a move… I’d say if he’s coming out of that bedroom with a girlfriend, he asked me a stupid question.’

Hikari nodded slightly in agreement about getting caught up in Aamori's home life. They'd wasted a lot of time before they even got around to even looking for clues as to where the relic was hidden. She would really hate to be stuck going through all of that sort of thing again. She chuckled softly when he said that he hoped she was stealthy enough to sneak inside. "Well, to be honest, I'm better versed in sneaking out than sneaking in, but I think I could manage to sneak inside... I've spent half of my life dodging my guards, I think I could manage to do it again. It really just depends who's on duty how easy it would be. What I would be more worried about would be one of the maids noticing me..." She rolled her eyes a little when he said that he only answered LaRae's question. "I would have preferred you gave me time to lie my way out of it and call it a piece of jewelry." She shook her head a little when he asked about Aamori, "No, dear, Aamori figured it out all by herself when we all got rain drenched and stuck in that mountain cave. You know I can't hie this thing that well when my hair is wet."

Kanone smiled weakly and then shook his head a little. "You know that really doesn't make sense either..." he said lightly, "Why is water afraid of fire? I mean, couldn't they just put the fire out. You'd think it would be the other way around. I mean, they make our clan a little nervous because if they ever decided to light our town on fire all we could so is blow on it and make it worse. So in turn we just try not to give them a reason to want to." Sighed a little, "Nanashi's an enigma. I don't really know what to make of him. I mean he seems like he could probably defend himself, but I've never even seen him really try. Well, I mean you saw him with Celestine." He tilted his head a little when he said that his clan just wanted to be on top. "Uh...huh..." he said as if he understood but couldn't really wrap his mind around it. He shook his head when he said that the earth clan was about the same only more understanding. "Yeah, I would think attacking a tiny little backwoods town unprovoked and out of the blue right before dinner and killing off any man, woman, or kid that got in your way would qualify as underhanded," he said simply. He sighed and then leaned forward a little, resting his elbow on his knee. "As far as I'm concerned, it's all stupid and damn near pointless. So far I haven't seen war between our clans accomplish anything except get orphan my cousin and kill my father and six-year-old brother. I mean...I thought they wanted to expand their territory or something like that but they didn't even do that. I still haven't figured out what the point of it was."

Celestine nodded again slightly as he continued to try to finish up her hair carefully. He listened quietly while she explained about Kanone. He sighed softly when she said that she liked having someone that would joke back with her. He shook his head weakly and then lowered his eyes. "...I'm sorry.... I just...don't find humor in very much anymore..." he said quietly. He raised his eyes again when she started to tall him about Kanone in Caledonia and then he glanced away. He was a little surprised to hear that Kanone had been telling her that, but then again, everyone had been it seemed. "...Yeah..." he said quietly, "...Just about everyone was telling you..." He glanced away again. "...I even...tried to...but since you didn't get it I...just assumed that you weren't really interested..." he said softly. He sighed again, "...I'm not the most...careful person with words... I always made you mad and then you didn't hear what I was trying to say..." Once he finally finished with her hair he placed the comb on the bed and then looked back to her again. His cheeks were still very red, but he didn't really mind. He just laid his head against hers so that his mouth was very close to her ear. "...I...I think I love you..." he whispered softly as he raised his arms and wrapped them around her. He had to say 'he thought.' Frankly, he wasn't entirely sure. As he'd told her, he'd never had a girlfriend before, so he had nothing to compare with, but he did care for her more than he had ever cared for any girl that wasn't related to him.

Esen chuckled again softly and shook her head a little. 'Well, I don't think I could call it a stupid question... The poor boy's face was cherry red and Aamori wasn't far behind him. I don't think he was entirely sure what he was doing... I just left after Aamori told him that he was her first choice. I thought he much appreciate not having an eves dropper in the midsts.' She giggled again and then shook her head, 'At least I think this beats the embarrassment over having her brother kiss him, as he put it.' She knew Celestine didn't want that getting out, but with as loudly as he'd said it, she'd been pretty sure both Kyran and Nobu were well aware of it since they were only right across the hall and the doors were open.

Yotsy 04-11-2009 06:31 AM

Kyran listened to Hikari while she talked about sneaking into the palace and nodded his head slightly once she'd mentioned that the difficulty would depend on who was on duty. That did make sense, especially since not every guard was liable to be like Ishta. He stared over at her and shook his head lightly. "Maids? ...Considering you know how to do a lot of things for yourself it's almost a little hard to believe you actually have maids." He glanced over to her briefly and then looked away with slight smile on his face. "I'd only just met you when I answered LaRae's question... how was I supposed to know you were trying to keep your identity a secret?" He asked innocently. "and of course I know you can't hide that thing when your hair is wet but you could've taken the time to lie and say it was a piece of jewelry." He teased. Knowing Aamori she probably would've believed for a good long while that the gem in the middle of Hikari's forehead was nothing more than a decorative piece of jewelry.

Nero shook his head and looked over at Kanone after he had asked why water dragons were afraid of fire dragons. "You don't look too much into opposing dragons and their clans do you?" He sighed quietly. "Water dragons get burned really easily, just like earth dragons. They're bodies themselves, not just the territory." He paused. "Water dragons also don't handle extremely hot climates and temperatures without moisture very well. If there is no water, whatsoever... it's kind of a given that it's going to wreak havoc on a water dragon." He glanced over to Kanone briefly. "As for a water dragon putting out fire, sure, they can manage that but that doesn't make them all powerful against a fire dragon." He paused. "It's pretty much like a love, hate relationship I guess... when it comes right down to it." He shook his head a little. "I mean for example, a dark dragon can easily take away the light that a light dragon would need to strengthen their attacks... just like a light dragon can eliminate the darkness a dark dragon would need to strengthen their attacks. I think it's kind of the same with every polar opposite clan. Water dragons can put out a fire dragons fire and a fire dragon can take away the water a water dragon would need to attack." He paused wondering a little himself if he'd gone and confused Kanone. It made sense to him at least. A fire dragon could easily dry up water if they wanted to and from he'd noticed with Aamori it took a while for her to conjure water from out of no where... so it was likely faster to use water nearby. A fire dragon could probably do away with a water source if they made an area hot enough to evaporate the water, thus leaving a water dragon with no option other than to conjure the water themselves practically from out of no where and that took time and you'd hope a fire dragon wouldn't leave time for a water dragon to do a spell. "An enigma? Interesting choice of word... and here I thought you didn't have a decently extended vocabulary." He said with a quiet laugh. "Nanashi may be an enigma but I don't think there's going to be anything to be concerned about. He's a little too much of a push over for him to cause anyone any worry." He stared over at Kanone for a moment before he shrugged lightly. "I can't say what the point was for them to attack out of the blue and for what seemed like no reason." He paused. "They may very well have had a reason... one you didn't get and probably wouldn't understand." He nodded his head weakly. "Not all attacks have obvious reasons behind them like expanding territory. Again, I can only speak for my territory but we've been known to occasionally attack another clan just to try something new out before it's actually implemented for real, more serious battles. I can only assume that the earth clan does that as well, or maybe they have another reason for doing what they did."

Aamori sighed quietly after hearing Celestine say that he didn't find humor in very much anymore. She was pretty aware of that already. Nearly ninety percent of the time he was serious and severely lacking in the humor department. "...It won't kill you to loosen up a little ...and the world isn't going to end just because you find humor in something..." She mumbled quietly. She was quite embarrassed to hear that just about everyone had been telling her. She honestly hadn't noticed and of course she hadn't picked up on him trying to tell her at all either. She felt a little bad for never picking up on it but at the same time he hadn't really been aware of her feelings either. She continued to sit pretty still even after he had finished combing out her hair. She couldn't help feeling a little bit of déjà vu right about now. Though, on the beach it was a little different than it was right now. Had her face not already been as red as it was she most likely would've blushed even more after hearing what he'd whispered. She continued to sit there quietly until after he'd wrapped his arms around her again. "I... I... love you... too." She responded quietly. She fairly certain that what she felt was love. It wasn't quite the same love that she felt for her brother but she didn't exactly have anything else to call it.

Nobu looked back over at Esen. 'Even if he wasn't sure what he was doing he managed to get satisfactory results.' He paused. 'and if he managed to get that far without worrying about you being in the room, I don't think it really would've mattered too much if you'd stayed. Honestly he may have been in his own little world where nothing else mattered. He glanced back towards the door for a moment before looking back at Esen. 'So that's who he meant when he practically yelled about being kissed by a boy... well... that's interesting.' He shook his head lightly. 'I'm a little surprised that he isn't a little uncomfortable being around her since it was Yoichi who kissed him. Aamori and her brother look an awful lot a like...'

Cyndel 04-11-2009 08:13 AM

Hikari raised an eyebrow when he commented about the maids. "You honestly think I clean that whole palace by myself?" she asked with a slight laugh. "I learn by watching...and I prefer to do things myself when no one is looking." Hikari gave him a bit of a look when he gave her that innocent little answer and then moved her hand up to rest her finger on her nose, "Well, you certainly didn't bother to ponder, now did you, Mister?" She shook her head a little when he said that she could have lied. "Yes, I could have, but I'm pretty sure she already had it mostly figured out... She is an elder in training, she's bound to know a bit about the other clans."

Kanone looked back to Nero again when he asked if he didn't look too much into opposing dragons. "Umm...no, no I don't. Never thought I'd need the knowledge." He listened silently while Nero tried to explain to him about the other clans. He raised an eyebrow and then tilted his head a little. "...Um...yeah..." he said simply. He didn't really understand fully, but he kind of got it. To him it seemed if a fire dragon when to try to dry up all of the water up quick that it would leave a whole hell of a lot of steam, and he thought a water dragon could probably pull the moisture out of the air...or at least he would think. He rubbed his head a little when he poked fun at his vocabulary. "Hey, it branches out in a couple of different directions," he said lightly. "I never worried about Nanashi causing anyone else any worry. I'm pretty sure the world does him more harm than he does being in it." He sighed and then shook his head again when he said that his clan would go attack other clans just to try things out. "Yeesh, that's what empty fields are for... Pfft, better yet, go attack your own towns, see how your people like it." He sighed and shook his head again before he straightened up and then shrugged. "Guess it doesn't really matter anymore who or why. Even if I knew it's not going to bring the kid back so he could finish growing up." He glanced back over to Nero again and half smiled, "My job's just to to protect my village from attacks, so far as I know we don't attack anything that doesn't attack us first. Well, you've met Marius, I guess you can see why." The wind dragons were peaceful for the post part, though at the same time they were all pretty wild, unpredictable fighters when provoked since they all trained in different ways. He didn't really hold grudges against anyone, but he certainly couldn't say that he wasn't pissed every time he thought about his little brother dying for pretty much nothing.

Celestine sighed a little when she said that it wouldn't kill him too loosen up and the world wouldn't end if he found humor in something. "...Even still... I just can't..." he said quietly. His child hood had more or less ended for him when he was eight years old, and by now his sense of humor was always just dead or very short lived. He had been so tightly wound for so long it took real effort to loosen him up. It was like trying to unscrew a cat that someone had put on too tightly to be turned back the other way. He smiled a little when she said that she loved him too and nuzzled his head against hers a little before he lowered his head to rest against her shoulder gently. He really couldn't help but think that her brother was going to kill him when he found out about this. After a few moments he sat up slowly and then looked at her again, the color only now finally starting to fade from his cheeks. He finally lowered his arms again and then glanced away again, that little smile still on his face. After a moment he picked up his comb and slipped off the bed to put it away before he picked up the brush, "I still need to wash this out..." he said quietly before he walked over to the bathroom door and opened it so he could get to the sink. He was just having a hard time sitting still after all of that.

Esen chuckled softly and shook her head again. 'Well...it wasn't really a kiss... It sounded to me more like he got him some water that he didn't want to finish and tried to mouth feed the rest to him.' She tilted her head a little, 'I guess it might be a little more awkward if he was thinking about that right now. I'm pretty sure that's one thing he's trying very hard to put out of his mind.' She shook her head again and then lowered it to her paws again. 'At least he's not sitting in the window sighing and looking like he just lost his best friend anymore...'

Yotsy 04-11-2009 08:15 PM

Kyran turned his head slightly and looked over at Hikari. “You’re a public icon, when isn’t someone looking?” He continued to stare over at her even after she’d said that he didn’t bother to ponder. He just smiled a little. “Of course I didn’t.” He started. “Most princesses I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting or seeing for that matter don’t mind when their royal position is announced.” He paused. “How was I supposed to know you were undercover and going by a completely different alias?” He shook his head a little with a quiet laugh. “What princess in their right mind escapes their guard then helps complete strangers in the middle of a festival and then continues to follow those strangers somewhere she’s never been before?” He glanced over at her. “That doesn’t exactly sound like the smartest thing to do and Ishta would’ve killed me if you’d come back to her harmed at all.” He laughed quietly again. “Thankfully your falling on your face didn’t warrant her going off on me.”

Nero stared at Kanone with a rather blank expression once he’d heard him say that he’d never thought he’d need the knowledge about the opposing dragons. That was certainly a novice for you. He sighed heavily. “How are you supposed to protect anyone properly from another dragon if you don’t know anything about the type of dragon attacking?” He shifted slightly while Kanone continued on about what empty fields were for and how they should attack their own towns and see how there people liked it. He rubbed his hand over the wrap on his arm a little and then looked back over at Kanone. “Empty fields don’t help anything when you’re looking to collect information and attacking our own towns?” He shook his head. “As much as you and everyone else would love that, it doesn’t accomplish anything. In order to test how something really works, be it tactics, normal attacks, or weapons… you really need to attack an enemy not an ally.” He paused. “If your clan wasn’t so laid back, I think you’d have an easier time comprehending all of this.” He said quietly. He shrugged a little when Kanone said that he guessed it didn’t matter anymore. “Knowing that information may not bring your kid brother back but it would at least give you a little peace of mind. Or at least I think it would.” He paused. “When you’re raised for nothing more than being in the military you kind of learn really fast that there are going to be losses, on both sides no less. Even one’s like your kid brother. I’m supposed to just accept when kids are lost but I can sympathize with you. I’d probably be pretty damn upset if something like that happened and I lost my sister and I’d surely want answers…” He shook his head a bit. Now that he was thinking about it that was probably the first time he’d even mentioned his sister at all while on this trip. The whole group knew very little about him and had this conversation not come up his little sister would probably have never been mentioned. “If your village were attacked right now or while on this trip… you’d be doing rather lousy at your job right, you know that?” It was kind of hard to protect a village if you weren’t in it or near it and Kairava wasn’t exactly close to their little village in Caledonia.

Aamori sighed quietly when Celestine said he couldn’t loosen up and find humor in something. That wasn’t really true; at least she didn’t think so. He could loosen up and have a little fun if he tried, or wanted to for that matter. He had started tickling her out of the blue that one day in the training building when no one else was around and he’d even been laughing so hard that it made him cry. So it was possible even if he said he couldn’t. She smiled a little once he’d nuzzled against her head and continued to hold the smile while his head was on her shoulder. She looked at him once he’d started to lift his head from her shoulder and then lowered his arms. The color of her cheeks had barely subsided and she was well aware even without having to look in a mirror. She kept an eye on him once he’d started to get off of the bed and head towards the dresser to exchange the comb for the brush. She nodded her head weakly when he said that he still needed to clean the brush out. She continued to watch him until he’d reached the bathroom door and had gotten it open so that he could get to the sink. Once he was clear of the room and well into the bathroom she immediately shimmied for a pillow and burrowed her face into it for a few moments. Looking back at the start of all of this it’s almost a little hard to believe that they were where they were with a relationship. They’d really come a good way from the day that he’d called her a demented water snake. She continued to keep her head buried in the pillow for a few moments before she finally sat back upright again. Had he not been just in the bathroom there probably would’ve been girlish squeals and giggles coming from that pillow. She took a deep breath and sat there quietly while she lifted her hand to her face briefly to feel how warm it still was. The color in her face had gone down considerably but it was still there and her cheeks were still warm. Now that she was thinking about it a little, she wasn’t looking forward to when her brother found out about this. Maybe if she was lucky they could make it through the last few days that they were going to be here in Kairava without him finding out, thus saving everyone from a massive headache.

Nobu shook his head lightly after hearing what Esen had said. Leave it to Celestine to get so worked up over something like that. If it was merely a case of her brother mouth feeding water to him than it wasn’t exactly a kiss. ’I don’t quite get why it upset him like it did, but I guess I’d want to put it out of my mind too if I reacted like he did.’ He paused. ’and I guess it’s safe to assume that the kiss, for lack of better words is what humiliated him so badly that he turned into that little dragon form.’ He shook his head slightly and then started to lower his head back down. ’…He was sitting in the window, sighing and acting like he’d lost his best friend? That’s a little overboard…’ He said quietly before turning his head a little to glance over at Esen. ’He lost something precious to him and he can’t leave here to go get it, which is why he was acting like that… I believe.’ He paused. ’He lost the necklace that he always wears, it belonged to his mother from what he didn’t mean to tell me. He’s assuming it’s somewhere in Aamori’s parents house and I guess it’s staying there for awhile because he can’t go get it and he doesn’t think anyone else is going to be willing to do it for him.’

Cyndel 04-11-2009 10:35 PM

Hikari smiled slightly when he asked when someone wasn't looking. "Hopefully when I'm in the bath, but that's debatable," she said with a soft chuckle. She rolled her eyes a little at his next few comments. "What princess in her right mind wouldn't?" she asked simply, "It gets a little tiring always having someone on your heels telling you how to act, how to dress, where to do, what to do, how to do it, who to talk to..." She sighed, "It's just nice sometimes to get away from them and be around people that don't know who I am and aren't going to make a big fuss if I so much as stub my big toe. I'm a big girl, Kyran, I can tie my own shoes and everything. I think I can take care of myself around a few strangers. You were the only one in any physical shape to try to do my any harm, anyway... and no offense but I'm pretty sure I could take you." She chuckled a little, "And there's no need to worry about Ishta...I can always call my guard dogs off."

Kanone just shrugged when he asked him how he was supposed to defend against other dragons when you didn't know anything about them. "I know the basics, that's about all I can hope to work with. Fire, water, earth, electricity, dark and light. Thing is, we've never had any problems out of half of them and rarely have any trouble with the others except one..." He listened silently while he explained about the tactics and needing to attack enemies, "Oh I comprehend it just fine... I just don't like the sound of it," he said simply, "Quite honestly I think we would all just be better off staying in our own territories and not pestering everyone else. These territories are huge, there's no real need to go crossing boarders and causing trouble. Thing is, that's all most people what to do, so there's no stopping it." He lowered his gaze again at the mention of having the information bringing him peace of mind. "...I don't even know if it would..." He really did miss his little brother. He was one of those rare older siblings that actually enjoyed letting his little brother tag along with him everywhere he went. He smiled slightly and looked back over to Nero again when he mentioned his sister. "Awww you have a sister?" He sighed when he said that he would be doing a lousy job at his job if something were to happen while he was away. "Maybe... But int he unlikely event that should happen, I'm pretty sure they would be just as screwed with me as without me. Well over half of the men in the village have a bracelet just like mine, and I am by no means the best fighter among them. I'm more like the guy someone would probably throw in front of a stampede just to see if it would slow them down any." He laughed a little and rolled his eyes. "I wasn't raised to be a fighter... I didn't even start learning how to until after my father was killed. That's the only reason I ever even picked up a weapon. I don't want to fight, but I will if it means protecting my family or....well what's left of it... Seems like I've been doing a pretty lousy job at that, too." He sighed heavily, "Staying at home was just making me stir crazy, and Gramps was worried about Celestine after seeing the shape he came home in, so he wanted me to come about as bad as I wanted to go. Not that we don't trust you guys with him, but...we just want to make sure he actually comes home. Someone's got to take care of that stupid cat of his."

Celestine sighed softly as he turned on the hot water and let it run for a few moments while he absently tried to pick the remaining purple hairs from the brush before he put it under the water and let it get soaked. He had the turn the water off again before he could even stand to put his hand in the sink to retrieve the brush, but once he had it he more or less loaded it with soap and immediately stared running the brush back and forth along his hand to later it up. It was trying his best to be thorough with the cleaning since he'd said that he would clean it out and didn't want to disappoint Marius by returning it still smelling funny and with hairs remaining between the bristles, though hew as pretty sure that he'd managed to get pretty much all of those out. He was in no real hurry to get back out to the main part of the bedroom. Now that all of that was out in the open he was a little unsure wht to say or do around her. Of course he'd meant to ask her if she would be his girlfriend, but yet again he'd managed to choke before he actually got the question asked. After a good few minutes of absently scrubbing the brush he finally remembered to turn the water back on and rinse it out again before snagging a towel and laying it out to dry on it. He made sure the water was turned off and then started to inch back toward the door again.

Esen giggled a little at Nobu's response to the real reason behind the kiss. 'I'm pretty sure in his mind someone else's lips touching his for whatever reason is a type of kiss.' She tilted her head curiously when Nobu said the way he was acting was overboard. It made a little more sense to her why he was acting that way after she heard what the problem was. 'Well, I suppose it must really be important to him then... Though I also think part of the reason is because he just wants to be outside. In two days he was locked up somewhere that he couldn't easily escape from twice, I bought he's enjoyed being cooped up indoors all of this time at all, even if he does have windows.' She knew she wasn't too crazy about it, though she could go out through thw window whenever she pleased she had been staying inside for the most part to keep Celestine company when Nobu was away.

Yotsy 04-12-2009 02:31 AM

Kyran sighed quietly. “You do a fine job of making everything about being a princess a bad thing.” He commented. “I think you’re just different than a few girls in your position. You’ve got terrible curiosity, a sense of adventure and a desire to be what everyone else would call normal.” He paused. “Not every princess complains about having their clothing picked out for them, being told where they’re going and what they’re doing and I don’t think all princesses mind being told who they can and can’t talk to. I mean… some princesses are bound to think they’re better than the common person so of course they’d only want to talk to certain people.” He glanced over to Hikari and smiled slightly. “So how does it feel to be a nonconformist among princesses?” He couldn’t help but laugh quietly after Hikari said that she could tie her own shoes. “Right… and that’s why your boots have zippers instead of laces.” He teased. He honestly couldn’t resist, it was just too good to pass up. He stared down at her for a moment after she’d said that she was pretty sure she could take him and then shook his head lightly. “I think the only reason you’d be able to take me one on one is because I couldn’t bring myself to hurt such a beautiful girl in any way, shape or form.” He paused. “I doubt I could even bring myself to bruise your ego.” He told her with a quiet laugh.

Nero nodded his head weakly after hearing Kanone say that he just didn’t like the sound of it. “Unfortunately that’s just how things are and they’ll likely continue even if you don’t like the way it sounds.” He paused and shook his head. “As for everyone staying in their own territories… that most likely will never happen. There are just too many reasons aside from conquering an enemy territory which causes dragons to cross borders.” He paused for a moment and started to itch at the wrapping on his arm absently. “A lot of the clans are very prideful, mine especially.” He started. “So if any dragon from another clan were to step foot in Shyama, even if they’re not hostile… well… they’re looked at as the enemy and if you don’t have an honest to God good reason for being on our territory we’ll remove you by force.” He paused. “Also, when you’ve got pride involved… cross-clan relationships are one hundred percent out of the question. There’s just no tolerance for relationships like a couple that are developing in our group… and unfortunately I don’t really think there is any way to keep cross-clan relationships from happening so even then you’re bound to have problems amongst the clans.” He sighed quietly. “Or maybe it’s just my clan that’s too prideful to go creating dragon half-breeds.” He shook his head a little. “No… the Thunder clan and Earth clans are pretty against that as well. Both of those two clans are so against it that the punishment is death, I believe.” He looked back over at Kanone after he’d said he wasn’t sure knowing would bring him peace of mind. “It may or it may not… but at least once you know you won’t ever wonder again.” He looked away from him after he’d gone and said ‘aww’. He sighed heavily and nodded his head to the question about having a sister. “She’s five.” He added quietly. He continued to listen to him as he went on and then laughed very quietly at the stampede comment. “We already know you couldn’t slow down a stampede. One punch to the gut and you’re down.” He joked. “If you should have anything to be proud of, be glad that you weren’t raised to be a fighter.” He shook his head lightly. “It’s no way to live and it’s certainly a lot better to pick up fighting when you’re given a better reason than ‘because you’re a boy’.” He paused. “In my clan all of the boys are trained from a very young age so that they can join the military and you’re considered a disgrace to your gender, family and clan if you’re a boy and you can’t fight or succeed in the military.” He looked over to Kanone for a moment after he finally noticed he’d been scratching his arm. “If I didn’t like what I do, I think I’d rather have had a choice in the matter on whether or not I picked up a weapon.”

Aamori continued to sit where she was on the bed quietly. She glanced over towards the bathroom door briefly waiting for Celestine to finish cleaning up his grandfather’s brush. If anything she was a little nervous about him coming back into the room now that she’d had a little time to digest everything. She couldn’t help thinking it was going to be a little different being around him now that he knew how she felt and vice versa. Though in the back of her mind she was telling herself it wasn’t going to be any different. The only thing that had really changed was the fact that he knew. She sighed quietly and continued to keep an eye on the door. She wasn’t staring at it or anything, but just kind of glancing in that direction every so often. Now that her mind wasn’t completely taken up by the conversation that they had been having she was reminded of one of the reasons that she’d come over here for in the first place. “…I meant to ask earlier…” She started. “How are you feeling today… health wise…?”

Nobu wasn’t the least bit surprised to hear Esen bring up that Celestine hadn’t been enjoying being cooped up in the house for as long as he had. ’I think the time being indoors may have been substantially shorter had he just listened to me the first day when he said he was getting sick.’ Of course had Celestine listened to him in the first place he wouldn’t have been asleep outside and been clobbered by the rain and he wouldn’t have had to put up with Aamori’s brother or that kiss. At any rate that was pretty much the past now and it didn’t matter a whole lot. ’I’d like to say that he could go outside as soon as he felt he was feeling better but I’m pretty sure that it’s up to Marius now on when it’s okay for him to go outside. The last thing we need is Celestine slipping outside before his body is ready all because of his phobia of closed in spaces… he’d just wind up sick again and right back where he started…’ He said quietly with a heavy sigh.

Hikari shook her head a little as she listened to Kyran. "I have a desire to have a mind of my own, which seems to be something that they don't seem to like me having." She rolled her eyes a little when he made the comment about other princesses thinking they were better than others and didn't mind being ordered around. "That's because they're brain washed." She thought for a few seconds when he asked how it felt to be a nonconformist among princesses. "Hmm....It's a pain," she said simply, "since everything about it drives me insane." She gave him a look when he made a crack about her boots and smacked him in the chest. She didn't hit him as hard as she could have it with his bruises it was probably enough to be uncomfortable. "Har har..." She rolled her eyes a little when he said that the only reason she would be able to take him on was because he couldn't bring himself to hurt a pretty girl. "Flattery will get you nowhere..." she said simply before she smirked a little, "Really, Kyran, did you learn nothing from all of those times I've told you I'm stronger than I look?" Honestly, Ishta had taught her a lot more than just how to fire a bow accurately, she knew how to defend herself in hand to hand combat or with whatever was available to work with at the moment, though one probably wouldn't know it by looking at her. She sighed softly and finally rubbed his chest gently where she'd smacked it before and nuzzled her head against his.

Kanone shook his head a little when Nero said that it would likely continue even if he didn't like the sound of it. Well, he'd never expected it to stop just because he raised an objection. He sighed softly as he listened to him tell about how prideful his clan was and about the thunder and earth clans, though he did notice that he was scratching at his arm while he was talking. "...I don't know about other clans. In mine it just varies from person to person. There's no law against it or anything, but it's frowned upon by some and others just don't care. Personally...I don't care. I don't see what who or what one person falls in love with has to do with anyone else. It's not like it's going to affect them any." He sighed softly, "Pride is a dangerous thing...a little can be good, but too much and it turned into an obsession. I think you guys have probably gone above and beyond that point." He smiled at him slightly and then shook his head again. "It's all a matter of personal opinion... the only problem is that everyone else tends to take their own opinions and force them on everyone else. Conform or be a reject...or killed." He closed his eyes for a moment and sighed, "I've been trying not to feel sorry for Nanashi since he doesn't seem to go around feeling sorry for himself all the time, but the more I hear about it the harder it is not to. I mean half the world's against him over something he had absolutely no say in." He opened his eyes to glance back to him again and smiled slightly when he said that his sister was five. "Awww I bet she wants to be just like big brother," he said playfully. He rolled his eyes when he said that he went down after one punch. "In my defense that was my ribs, not my gut, and that was more like being stabbed with that spike you were using." He smiled weakly when he said that if he had anything to be proud of it was that he had a choice in picking up a weapon. "I guess so..." he said softly. He couldn't really believe that they were considered a disgrace if they couldn't succeed in the military, or that they were forced in at a young age. "Well...I would say not everyone was built for fighting, but...heh... Think my cousin goes against that logic. I can lay into just about anything and you wouldn't think he could even lift that swallow of his." He smiled slightly at Nero again when he said that would have rather had a choice in what he did if he didn't like it. "Well...I guess it's a good thing you learned to like it..." He reached over and put his hand on his shoulder again, "Is your arm bothering you?" he asked since he'd noticed him scratching it earlier.

Celestine glanced out to Aamori when she asked him how he was feeling and then glanced away. "...Better..." he said quietly as he stepped out of the bathroom and into the bedroom again and over to the bed to sit down. "...Still a little stuffy..." He sighed softly and then leaned forward a little and absently leaned forward and raised his hand to his neck again for a moment before dropping his hand when he remembered why something felt off. He looked over to Aamori again and then sat up straight again and tilted his head. "...How are feeling? ....Injuries wise..."

Esen shook her head again when Nobu went and brought up Celestine not listening to him. Frankly she didn't know why he felt the need to bring that up. If he hadn't flown off the rocker at him for that comment he made then he probably wouldn't have run off on them at least. 'Well, I guess I should have gone with him,' she said simply. She sighed as well when he said that it was up to Marius when he went outside. 'I guess so... But so long as it isn't raining and he isn't sleeping out there I don't see what it would hurt really.'

Kyran shook his head lightly while he listened to Hikari. Leave it to her to think that the other princesses who didn't care if they were ordered around were brainwashed. He wouldn't exactly call them brainwashed. They just didn't mind the lifestyle they were given. He looked over at her briefly when she answered that it was a pain and that everything about it drove her insane. "If you weren't trying so hard to fight being a typical princess it probably wouldn't drive you insane." He paused and laughed quietly. "Maybe you should become like one of the brainwashed princesses?" He was completely joking of course, especially since if she were a typical princess they probably wouldn't even be talking to each other, let alone sharing feelings for one another. He winced slightly once she'd smacked his chest. That hadn't really been enough to hurt but it certainly was uncomfortable considering the bruises. "Hey... you're not supposed to hit the injured..." He whined playfully. He sighed quietly upon hearing that flattery would get him nowhere. "That's alright, I just like getting the chance to tell you how beautiful I think you are from time to time, especially when you aren't expecting it." He looked back over at her for a moment and then stared up at the ceiling. He had no doubt that Hikari was stronger than she looked but that didn't mean that she could take him, or at least he didn't think she could. She may be able to come close but by no means did he think she could beat him. Not to mention it didn't matter how strong you were if you couldn't catch him and he could be a lot faster than she'd seen if he really wanted. "I never said you weren't stronger than you look... I have nothing more than your ability to use a bow to base your strength off of, but if you say that you could take me I guess I have no choice but to believe you until it's been proven otherwise." He didn't really want to argue who could take who with her and as far as he was concerned he still didn't believe that she could beat him.

Nero was a little on the fence with how he felt about cross-clan relationships. Part of him didn't care either, if two people loved each other than it didn't really matter what clan they were from. Then the other part of him was prideful of his clan and he couldn't see weakening the dark clan's bloodline by being with a dragon from another clan. "I can't argue that." He commented quietly when Kanone said that he thought the dark clan's pride had gone above and beyond the point of obsession. "At some point through the years someone decided to let pride control everything and it's just inflated from there." He added. "All of the world is against Nanashi." He corrected. "Neither the dragons or the humans accept him and that's pretty much the majority of beings on this planet." He sighed quietly. "Go ahead and feel sorry for him, just don't be like that in front of him. It isn't really going to hurt anything." He shook his head a little after Kanone made the little comment he did about his sister. "Not quite. If it hasn't changed since I left she's still in the 'I want to be a princess' stage." He admitted quietly. "She's just in love with the idea of wearing pretty dresses with gaudy jewelry and having more people to take care of her every little wish. She's obnoxiously adorable and already gets everything she wants and it still isn't enough." He gave a heavy sigh. He continued to listen while Kanone finished up what he had to say and chose not to comment on that for now. There really wasn't anything that he could add at the moment anyhow. He glanced down to his arm for a moment and then glanced back to Kanone briefly. "It itches, if you hadn't noticed." He told him. "Unfortunately I haven't bothered to do anything with it since the wrap went on it." He said quietly. He hated to admit that but it was itching pretty badly and he needed to clean it out. It'd gone three days, give or take without being cleaned or aired out.

Aamori nodded her head a little when he answered so shortly. "I'm glad." She responded quietly and then watched him once he'd moved to sit on the bed. She stared over at him, noticing that he'd lifted his hand to his neck for a moment. She glanced away when he asked how she was feeling, injury wise. She was quiet for a moment while she thought about that. She hadn't really been all that concerned with how she was feeling, especially since she'd found out that he'd been sick. "...I'm alright." She finally answered. Aside from the whole drowning thing the only other injuries that she really had were from where the glass had punctured her back. Those few wounds in her back hadn't been healed by Hikari when she took care of her leg so that was really the only thing left. Thanks to Celestine's being sick she'd all but forgotten about how sore her back was when she moved a certain way so the past couple days while the cuts healed on their own had been bearable. A couple of the glass shards had cut a little deep so the cuts weren't going to heal on their own right away but at least it didn't hurt unless pressure was applied to the area directly. "...Hikari never got to take a look at my back, so that's healing on it's own..." She paused. "It doesn't hurt very much too much any more." She added quickly. She was well aware that he knew she had a poor tolerance for pain so she didn't really want him to worry about it. She glanced back over to him for a moment. "...You reached for your neck... is something wrong?" She asked quietly.

Nobu looked over at Esen a little and nodded his head slightly. 'It might not hurt a whole lot to let him outside but I don't see it being easy to get him back into the house if he's allowed outside before he's feeling all better.' He sighed quietly. 'He'll probably fight tooth and nail to stay outside and it gets pretty cold here at night.' He shook his head a little and laid his head back down. He really didn't want to get into it about Celestine and being outside.

Hikari gave Kyran another look when he suggested that she wouldn't be as irritated if she didn't fight being a typical princess so hard. "Right, Kyran, I would just drive everyone else insane," she said simply, "Or would you prefer that I refused to sleep outside, demanded my own room, expected the rest of you to wait on me hand and foot, and wouldn't life a finger to do anything because I never learned how to use a weapon or heal, or anything else because I would obviously never need to know how to use it since there would always be someone else to do it for me." She gave him a sarcastic smile as she propped her arm up on her elbow, "And god forbid I should ever break a nail, mess up my hair, or wear anything but a nice gaudy dress." She leaned closer to him again, "And of course I would be far too good to even give you a second look, and probably already be married off to the first good looking, stuff shirt, egotistical guy that came knocking and make a lovely trophy wife." She sighed and then laid her head down on his chest and nuzzled against him gently. She just smiled slightly when he said that he only had her strength with a bow to go from. "Whatever..." she said quietly. She didn't really care either way. Honestly, she doubted that she would ever be fighting with him so it wouldn't really matter anyway.

Kanone half smiled at Nero's agreement to what he said about his clan being overly prideful. When he got down to Nanashi he just sighed and shook his head. "Not all of the world..." he said simply, "I'm not against him. I don't think Kyran or Hikari has a problem with him, and LaRae definitely isn't against him." He laughed softly, "I think even Celestine likes him." He couldn't very well say whether Nero had any cares for him or not, but overall he was pretty sure most of the group liked him well enough. Even Aamori was friendly with him. He smiled again and laughed when he told him that his sister still wanted to be a princess. "Awww that's so cute," he said lightly, "She sounds adorable. Better keep a close eye on her when you can." He looked back to his arm again when he said that it was itching and then shook his head. "Yeah, I noticed that, that's why I asked," he said lightly. He nearly rolled his eyes when he said that he hadn't done anything to it since the wrap went on. "Really..." He lightly swatted him in the back of the head and then moved his hand back down to his arm again. "Come on, let's at least get it cleaned out again and let it breathe."

Celestine smiled slightly when she said that he was alright, though it faded when she said that she still had marks on her back. He knew that Hikari hadn't had the energy to get to everyone, even his feet were still a little scratched up, though not badly enough to bother him. He was a little relieved to hear that her back wasn't really bothering her too much. "That's good..." he said softly. he could have healed the cuts for her, but since they weren't bothering her too badly, he'd rather just conserve his energy. Besides it wouldn't hurt her to build up a little pain resistance. He sighed again when she mentioned him reaching for his neck. "No...it's nothing," he said quietly, "I'm used to feeling a strap there. I keep forgetting it's not." he said simply.

Esen sighed softly, 'He might... but that's just when someone has to pick him up and carry him if he won't walk on his own.' she said simply. She continued to lay there for a moment and then rolled onto her side and gently nuzzled her head against Nobu's side while she stretched out. She looked up at him and wagged her tails a little before she nuzzled him again and curled back up with a yawn.
