Nanashi made sure to give Nero his full attention when he started explaining the game to him briefly. He nodded his head slightly in understanding when he told him how the game went. Well...thus far he didn't think it was complicated. He turned his attention to LaRae when she explained a little further. "...Alright...thanks," he said quietly to both of them. He hoped that he didn't have to tag everyone on the forehead or that was going to be a little difficult. He half smiled when LaRae started to back away from him, realizing that she was only playing, and he finally started to get to his feet. He paused in his motion as well when LaRae told him that there was no magic involved since this was a kid's game. Seeing that it was such a simple child's game, he had a hard time believing that he had no idea how it was played until now. He was at least glad to hear that there was no magic involved...considering that he couldn't use any. He glanced over to Nero briefly since the guy hadn't moved and he could easily get to him and tag him but...as Nero predicted, he wasn't quite that brave. He looked over the idea for a moment and then edged away form him and started after LaRae since Sri had already gotten a huge head start and was halfway across the yard. Nanashi was a pretty fast runner when it came down to it, although he had nothing on thunder or light dragons. They could be speedy devils if given half the chance, but considering how often he was chased he had learned to run pretty fast for a half-breed from the fire clan. He smiled a little as he pushed to gain some kind of ground on LaRae, but he was also trying to take it easy since he knew he didn't need to push too hard...all things considered.

Nero merely looked to Nanashi briefly when he caught him glance over at him. He couldn't help a slight smirk after seeing Nanashi decide to go after LaRae instead. He had already known that was going to happen, or well, he knew Nanashi wouldn't touch him. He was the closest and he wasn't moving but Nanashi just wouldn't chance touching him. He was also pretty sure that this game could probably unnerve Nanashi a little once Nero got to be it. In all honesty... this probably wasn't the best game for Sri to have chosen to play given the people who were playing. He just shrugged slightly as he continued to stay where he was a moment, watching Nanashi chase after LaRae. He did finally get his feet moving but he wasn't in any rush, he just took to walking a little a ways from where he had been standing so that it didn't really look like he was just standing there uninterested in playing.

LaRae couldn't say that she was surprised that Nanashi was coming after her. Sri had gotten herself a nice head start and Nero always looked like he was waiting for a chance to hit you, even if you were just playing a game. She didn't really have an issue with playing tag with Nero, she wasn't afraid to touch him but she was a little skeptical of just how Nero'd 'tag' someone back. She was pretty light on her feet most of the time and could run decently fast. She wasn't in the same league as a thunder or light dragon, as few could really compete with them in the speed department but she could be quick when she needed to be... especially when surrounded by trees and what not since she was good at dodging them. She also ran at her best when she had a good reason to run, in this case... a game of tag wasn't a good reason not to mention she didn't want to push too hard to get away from Nanashi. She didn't want to make him work too hard since he was still recovering. So really... she was going to be a decently easy target for him. The only person playing that she could honestly say that she would go out of her way to stay away from was Nero... just so that she could be a pain in his ass.

Nanashi smiled a little as he ran after LaRae, although she wasn't as easy to catch as he might have hoped. Still, it didn't really bother him. After what happened the other day it was nice to have something to do. His minded even now wanted to wander back to some very unpleasant scenes. He reached out with his hand as he ran and tried to tap LaRae on the back, but she got away from him. He stumbled a little, laughing slightly in embarrassment as he straightened up and then tried again. He felt a little silly playing a child's game to begin with, but it was almost more for the fact that he was actually enjoying it that got him. In spite of the fact that in all technicality, even Sri was older than he was, he felt like he was too old for this sort of thing. Even still, it had been a while since he had just run around for the fun of it with nothing behind him that was going to try to kill him if it caught him. He tried yet again to get to LaRae and smiled when he got close enough to tap her, but then noticed that they were getting extremely close to Sri. He could have tagged LaRae, but he continued after her and ran past Sri before he swing around and tapped her on top of the head. "Tag," he said lightly before he laughed softly and dodged away from her, back stepping a couple of times before he spun around and ran after LaRae again. "Sri's it!" he informed her with another playful laugh.

Sri had gotten a good distance from everyone so she was pretty much just standing there watching Nanashi chase down LaRae. She moved away from them a little when LaRae started to run past her and giggled when Nanashi passed her as well. She blinked when she felt someone tag her on top of the head and then looked back in total surprise. "Ahh Heyy!" she complained when he said that she was it. She grinned and then turned and started to run after Nanashi. She could have caught him easily if she weren't wearing such a flowy dress and those little slippery doll-like shoes, but that slowed her down considerably, which she supposed after seeing everyone else run was only fair. Then again, she had short legs compared to the rest of them as well. She ran after Nanashi for a few moments and then puffed out her cheeks when she couldn't seem to catch him. "Ahhhg!" She threw up her arms and stopped running after him and then remembered that Nero was playing as well. She looked back to him and grinned mischievously before she took off after him. He should be pretty easy to get since he wasn't even really moving.

LaRae of course was caught between trying to go easy on Nanashi and trying to actually play the game and keep away from him while he was it. She also didn't want it to seem obvious to him that she couldn't bring herself to outright give it her all. With that in mind she did at least work at not letting him get her at first and avoided him when she could. She couldn't help laughing a little herself while she ran. Honestly, the fact that Nanashi seemed to be enjoying himself and laughing is what brought laughter bubbling up her throat. She barely paid attention to just how close Nanashi had gotten to her, only vaguely aware that he could have tagged her if he wanted to. She didn't even really notice that he had doubled back on Sri after they passed her. Though she did pause and look back at Nanashi and then Sri when she heard him say 'tag'. She couldn't resist shaking her head and laughing quietly at Sri's response. Then of course once Nanashi had started in her direction again she got her feet moving again. She didn't want to make herself an easy target and just stand there. It'd be no fun that way and she didn't want for Sri not to enjoy herself.

Nero had continued to just walk at a rather sluggish pace while Nanashi chased after LaRae. Part of him was warring with the idea that playing tag like this was silly. Not to mention this was so much fodder against him that it wasn't even funny.... he was so glad that this wasn't his territory. He was keeping an eye on the other players as he wandered around almost aimlessly and of course caught when Sri was tagged. He just shook his head a little, fighting the smile that wanted to work it's way onto his face. He had felt the smile twitching at the corners of his mouth and choked it back before it spread across his face. He was momentarily aware that he needed to keep a lid on his expressions... especially when Sri wasn't directly around him. If he spent too much time smiling, laughing or just being overly friendly he was going to have a lot of trouble remembering to go back to his detached and cold self. It was just too easy to stay friendly after spending time around kids... and he didn't need to forget about that. He came back from his thoughts about the time that Sri had gotten closer to him. He hadn't bothered to run from her or anything, he just kept walking... though as soon as she got close enough to tag him he quickly sidestepped her, spinning on his heel with a friendly smile just for her before starting to run away from her. He ran backwards at first but quickly enough spun himself back around so he didn't wind up tripping and making himself an easy target.

[Skippy! Cause...cause...I'm tired of playing tag. XD]

Sri was having a ball playing tag with the others, especially once Nero really got into the game. Sadly, it turned out to be fairly short lived. After about thirty minute or so, Nanashi had to call it quits and go sit down again. He had been enjoying himself and almost forgotten that he was supposed to be recovering from a serious case of blood loss...at least until the dizziness caught up with him and he nearly collapsed in mid-run. After he had caught his breath and sat around until he had recovered a bit he finally wound up going back to his room to rest properly for a while. That was, of course, only after apologizing to Sri and having to assure her that it wasn't her fault he nearly passed out on them. Like most children she seemed to manage to get it into her head an awful lot that things that had nothing to do with her was somehow her fault in some way. Once that was all cleared up however, she simply resumed hanging all over Nero and dragging him all over the place.

Aside from the very awkward breakfast which he had been unable to avoid this morning, Ellior had managed to keep himself away from the palace for most of the day. Naturally, his mother had been in a tizzy wondering where he was and why he wasn't trying to win Selenity over, but he had other things on his mind that he could be doing. As far as he was concerned, he was an actor before he was anything remotely similar to a politician, so naturally he escaped the palace as soon as he could and went back to his preferred job. Sure, it wasn't looked upon as highly as being in the military or being a nobleman, but he enjoyed it. The people were kind, and he enjoyed being able to entertain others on the stage and just sink into the character of someone else. He spent practically the entire day at the theater rehearsing his part in the next play, even though he wasn't even entirely sure he was still going to be able to manage with everything that was going on. He simply wanted to act, but of course his mother frowned upon that occupation and was likely going to do so even more now that he was one step closer to wedding Princess Selenity.

Now that the day was nearly over and everyone else had already headed for home, he finally left himself along with one of his close friends. She was considerably shorter than he was, and had the same pale blond hair. They had met at the theater and hit it off pretty well, but of course considering that she was middle class his mother had a cow whenever she caught them trying to spend time together. He offered to walk her home simply to pass a little more time, even though she didn't live far from the theater as it was. She had noticed that he seemed a little down in the dumps and asked him about it, but he simply smiled at her and assured her that nothing was wrong. After all, he was only engaged to a woman he barely knew who apparently couldn't stand him. After he dropped her off at her house and she closed the door he finally started to make his way back up the road that would take him to the palace. Now that he was alone again he simply let the act drop and sighed a little, dropping his eyes tot he ground and he sauntered up the walkway toward the palace, looking as if he had just lost his best friend or something to that effect. In all honestly if he had to get married he would about sooner choose the girl he had just walked home...that is if she wasn't already taken. He shook his head a little and pushed that thought from his mind since there was no point to trying thinking about things like that. He was engaged already, and he was going to have to at least try to make it work. Unfortunately, Ellior wasn't entirely skilled at walking with his head down because he didn't make it past the embassy building, which was barely a block away from the theater before he walked straight into someone who was coming out. He startled out of his thoughts and jumped back a little. "I-I am terribly sorry!" he said quickly, bowing steeply before he even looked to see who it was he ran over. He sighed heavily and let his ears fall back a little as he straightened himself up and looked to see who he had knocked in to this time.

Kyran had never made it down to breakfast that morning. He had avoided it as best as he could by making sure that he was out of the palace at the earliest hour possible. He just didn't want to be stuck at the table with everyone, including the fiance of the woman he loved. He didn't entirely have a great idea of what he was going to do with his time but he knew that he didn't want to be stuck in the palace where he could potentially run into Ellior or anyone else he didn't really want to see. He didn't exactly want to be seen moping around the palace either... he cared about his friends, like Nanashi for instance... but he didn't want the guy worrying about him. Or even seeing him in the state he was. He spent a good portion of the morning wandering around different shops and the like, once they opened up of course. He hadn't had anything in mind really at first and was just browsing but eventually he did get an idea for something he wanted to make. He had found out that Selenity's birthday was coming up soon and he really wanted to get her something... but of course he didn't know what one bought a Princess who could buy anything she wanted or needed. That lead him to the idea of making her something... so he wound up spending a little time looking for various materials that he thought he might need. Thankfully when choosing to make something by hand, himself, the price really wasn't that bad. He hadn't had a lot of money on him this trip... so cheap was good but he did have the intention of not making what he planned to make look cheap.

Once he had finished wandering around, aimlessly for the most part, he decided to wander over to the embassy building. It would prove to be a good cover for where he had gone and why he had left so early, plus... it would also give him a chance to see if they had anything for him to do. He hoped to find some work of some sort to keep his mind off of the drama that sprang up at dinner last night. It was really hard not to think about that, even when he did have something to do at the embassy... but yeah.. how could you not think about the woman you loved having to marry some other man. He wished that there was something he could do about it of course... but there wasn't and he knew it better than most. Being a diplomat really did keep him thoroughly informed. He spent the rest of his day working at the embassy and almost hated to leave. If they had had a cot or even a sleeping bag or something... he probably would have found some way to stay, at least for that night. He did finally manage to get his feet in gear and talk himself out of the building but not long after he stepped out of the door he was run into and knocked a little off balance. He stayed on his feet but did manage to stumble to the side just a tad. His initial response was to apologize as well since he wasn't exactly watching for someone on his way out of the building. Then again... he didn't expect to be run into on his way out. He had started to say he was sorry himself, at least until he saw who had run into him. As soon as he laid eyes on Ellior whatever he had thought of saying died on his tongue and he just kind of stared at the guy for a moment with an almost shell shocked expression on his face. He got that under control quickly and tucked the expression away, replacing it with a nearly blank one. He hadn't expected to run into Ellior... especially not here, right now. His luck wasn't normally this rotten.... “.....It's alright.” He finally managed quietly. He sighed softly and shook his head just a tad before he turned away from Ellior and started to walk back towards the palace. He figured that was probably where Ellior was headed... but that didn't mean that he had to walk there with him. Or at least he hoped it didn't. Or maybe his luck wasn't really that bad today and Ellior wasn't going back to the palace... yeah...... right.

Ellior blinked when he raised up and realized that it was Kyran that he had walked into. For a few moments he looked about as stunned as Kyran had upon first seeing him, but like Kyran he managed to get the expression under control shortly. He tried his best to wipe any signs of being unhappy off of his face and smiled warmly at Kyran after getting a good look at him. "I'm really sorry...I wasn't watching where I was going," he apologized again. He tilted his head a little when Kyran just said that it was alright and then turned around and started to walk away on him. He wasn't entirely sure why, but he felt something in his gut sink. He hated to think that he had done something to offend Kyran at some point. They had gotten along well on their first meeting, and as far as he knew he hadn't done anything to him. He continued to stand stone still for a few moments as he stared after Kyran. Was he mad at him because Selenity was upset about this whole engagement thing? Selenity seemed to be blaming him with it, so perhaps her friends weren't very thrilled with him either. His ears fell back a little at that thought and he sighed. He hated feeling like a criminal over all of this, especially since he was being pushed into it just as much as she was. Then again, maybe he was just being presumptuous. Maybe it had nothing at all to do with him. Maybe it was something else, or maybe that was just the way Kyran usually was, who was he to say? It wasn't like he really knew the guy.

After standing there lost in thought long enough for Kyran to get a good run on him he finally got himself in gear and started to walk again, though after a moment he started to quicken his pace so that he could catch up with Kyran. He reached out almost timidly with his hand and placed it on Kyran's shoulder as he caught up with him while he looked up at him with some real concern in his eyes. No matter how crappy he was feeling, he hated to see other people getting bogged down with problems, so if there was something he could do to help he certainly didn't mind trying. Besides, when he was busy trying to solve everyone else's problems it was pretty easy to forget his own for a little while. "...Kyran...are you...I mean...is everything alright?" he asked quietly. "...You seem...a little different today...is all.... I...I just wondered...," he tried to explain nervously. He really hoped he wasn't the reason that Kyran was acting the way that he was since he really didn't want to bother him.

Kyran hadn't entirely been aware that his mood had visibly changed. He knew he wasn't feeling that great and he was a little moody... but he hadn't really suspected that it was showing enough for a relative stranger to notice. He figured that out however as soon as he felt Ellior touch him and ask him if everything was alright. He hadn't turned his head to look at the guy but he had stopped slowly so that he was just standing there quietly. He felt like an idiot for letting his emotions show that much... it wasn't like it was going to be any help to let Ellior see what this was doing to him. Nor was it really going to help to talk to the guy about it. Ellior was engaged to Selenity... end of story. He sighed softly, almost inaudibly and forced his expression into something a little more like him. He did his very best to cover up the hurt and dislike for the guy next to him. He stared over at Ellior for a moment before smiling a little. “Everything's fine.” He answered firstly. “Just had a busy day in the embassy, that's all.” He added. “It can take a lot out of you sometimes.” He wasn't exactly lying but he wasn't being completely honest either. Honestly though... what good would it really do to say anything to Ellior?

Ellior tilted his head a little when Kyran sighed and started to pull his hand back slowly. He wouldn't have really noticed the sigh if he hadn't felt Kyran's shoulders move with it. He looked at Kyran's face when he finally turned his head a to look at him. His own expression was almost blank save for the mild concern and hint of skepticism in his eyes as he searched Kyran's face. He didn't really understand why he was having such a hard time looking at him if he had just had a long day at work. He did finally smile weakly when Kyran told him that the embassy could take a lot out of you. "...I can hardly imagine...," he admitted quietly. He sighed softly and shook his head a little before chuckling weakly in amusement at a thought. "...You should go into acting," he commented simply, "...You're pretty good at it." Kyran might have gotten away with his excuse if Ellior hadn't been in roughly the same boat. He was trying his best to act like everything was perfectly fine when it wasn't. If anyone had asked him he likely would have just told them that it had been a long day.... He glanced back up to Kyran and smiled weakly at him before raised a hand to rest lightly against his upper arm arm. "...I don't know what's bothering you...or if I can help, but...if you want to talk to someone about it, I can listen," he offered quietly. With that, he pulled his hand back again and then bowed his head a little. "...Sorry if I was out of line," he added quietly. He knew there were some people who didn't like to be called out when they were faking, and if Kyran wasn't faking he could just think that he was an idiot he supposed. He had probably already made himself look like one several times.

Kyran wasn't sure that he was surprised that Ellior didn't really believe him when he told him that everything was fine. Ellior was an actor... actors could read people. It was unfortunate that he was stuck dealing with someone like Ellior right now and there wasn't exactly a nice way to get away from him. Or, well, at least not a way that wouldn't come off completely and utterly rude. He wasn't even sure what to say in response to Ellior telling him that he should go into acting because he was pretty good. He didn't want to admit that he was putting up a front of course... but what did you say to something like that? He just kind of stared at Ellior for a few moments, resisting the urge to sigh again and shake his head. His expression did falter a little. He lost what little smile he had held and replaced it was as much of a blank face as he could muster. “...There is nothing wrong that you need concern yourself with.” He finally said. That didn't really give anything away and it was a nice way of saying it didn't concern him and was none of his business. Unfortunately that wasn't really the case. What was bothering him totally and completely involved Ellior... but he couldn't bring himself to want to talk about this with the man. It wasn't like it was going to improve the situation if he spoke to Ellior about it anyway, so why bother.

Ellior kept his eyes on Kyran's face as the man stared back at him in silence. He didn't bother to speak again, simply observed the change in his expression. Seeing him holding that blank mask on his face caused him to sigh softly. Still, his own expression remained carefully in place. Ellior really was pretty good at keeping his expression in check, and could pretty easily fool most people who didn't really know him well. Part of the reason it was so easy for him to hold his expression, though was simply because he really was a little concerned. He did let his smile fade since it was about as fake as Kyran's had been. Once Kyran answered him that what was wrong was nothing that should concern him he nodded his head a little. "...And yet concerned I remain," he responded quietly. "...I understand," he assured him after a moment, "it is none of my business. I apologize if I bothered you further." He offered him another weak smile and tilted his head a little. "...If you change your mind...the offer will not expire." He thought he could at least let Kyran know that it wasn't a limited time offer since he may just not want to discuss it right now with anyone. With that said, he started to turn around again. "...I...hope whatever is bothering you works itself out soon...," he offered softly. "...Shell we return?" he asked simply, motioning with his head toward the palace. "...I suppose we are gong to the same place...." There was a hint of melancholy that slipped into his voice at that point, but he smiled warmly to try to cover it up. He would so much rather go home and leave his mother at the palace for a while. After another few seconds he simply shook his head and started to walk along the road that would take them to the palace gates again without another word.

Kyran still really wished that he hadn't run into Ellior of all people. His luck today was terrible and worst of all he hadn't been able to fool the guy into believing that nothing was wrong. He, himself, wanted to believe that nothing was wrong... but unfortunately that just wasn't the case. He also just didn't want to talk to anyone about the topic, period. He was grateful to Nanashi that he was willing to listen and talk with him... but he didn't even want that. So really... what would make him want to talk to Ellior? He kind of appreciated that Ellior was willing to talk to him, or well, listen... but he couldn't bring himself to want to speak a word of what was on his mind to Ellior. Besides... how did to tell the man who was going to marry the woman you loved, that you loved his fiance? Then what would it matter anyway? He supposed out of everyone he could talk to, the only person that he really could stand talking to was Selenity herself. But then again... he wasn't sure he could talk to her honestly. Ellior was good for her... and as much as he loved her, his scales were just not the right color. He tried to keep his thoughts from showing on his face and forced them away as much as possible before focusing on Ellior again. “....Talking about it will not make any difference, I'm afraid.” He said softly, almost in a defeated tone. He gave up on trying not to sigh and let it out. He even shook his head a little. “I hope that it works itself out, somehow.” He paused. “...But I'm not holding my breath....” He uttered the last quietly, nearly under his breath. He gave a weak nod of his head when Ellior questioned them going to the same place. Unfortunately... he kind of wished he had some other place to go. Right now he really did feel like hiding somewhere, or well, just running from this issue. The whole situation cut a lot a deeper than he wished it had. He was so focused on his own mood that even if Ellior had been showing more of his own he probably wouldn't have noticed it. So of course he didn't really think that much was wrong with the guy... and probably wouldn't have asked even if there was. Once Ellior had started off towards the palace he went ahead and started to follow suit, though he didn't bother catching up enough to walk beside Ellior, instead he hung back just a tad.

Ellior's ears laid back ever so slightly when Kyran told him that talking about it wouldn't really do any good. "...Yeah," he responded quietly, "...I know what you mean. ...I'm sorry," he replied earnestly. He nodded his head slightly when Kyran said that he wasn't holding his breath that things would work themselves out. "...I wish there was something I could do to help...," he told him quietly. In all honestly if he knew what the problem was and knew how to fix it, he certainly would do his best to try. That was just he kind of person that Ellior was and always had been. He didn't bother to look back once he started walking, at least not for a few minutes. He peeked over his shoulder to see Kyran lagging behind and sighed softly before closing his eyes and continuing down the road. "...Kyran," he stared after a few moments of silence, "...Do you mind if I ask you something?" He paused long enough to wait for some kind of response and then sighed again. "...I would like to know a little more about Princess Selenity. ...Everyone here knows her name and her face...or...well...one of them...," he amended since Selenity really looked like another person when she wasn't all dolled up like she was daily at the palace, "...but I don't believe anyone really knows her as well as you and your friends do. I...would like to get to know her...a little....at least...." He had absolutely no desire to marry a complete stranger any more than he thought Selenity wanted to marry him. If their parents were going to force her into this, he thought that the least he could do was try to get to know her before asking her to marry him.

Kyran continued after Ellior, absently glancing between his back and where he was walking. He didn't mind the silence while they walked and rather he actually appreciated that the guy wasn't trying to have conversation with him... well... at least until Ellior opened his mouth and said his name. He just kind of glanced towards the guys face when he had looked back himself. He had a slightly questioning look on his face and then resisted the urge to roll his eyes or something when Ellior asked if he could ask him something. “....Sure.” He responded, not entirely interested already. He could only imagine what it was that Ellior was going to ask. He actually tripped himself up a little when Ellior did ask his question, wanting to know more about the Princess. He hadn't really expected that question and didn't particularly want to talk to Ellior about Selenity. Part of him wanted to make Selenity sound like the most horrible person in the world in hopes that it might scare Ellior off... and then the other part of him just couldn't do that. He couldn't make Selenity sound like a terrible person... because she wasn't. He sighed softly and just kind of looked at Ellior for a moment before speaking. “....Technically, I don't know Princess Selenity any better than you.” Which wasn't a lie. He knew Hikari better than he knew the Princess. He knew the girl underneath all that make up and fancy dresses, the girl who was intelligent, caring and could take care of herself just fine. Now... the Princess... in the make up and dresses... he really didn't know her that well and unfortunately Selenity just couldn't completely be the Hikari he knew and loved when she was supposed to be being the Princess. Yes, they were the same person... but they did act a little differently. “.....What do you want to know...?”

Ellior blinked when Kyran nearly tripped himself and stopped walking for a moment. "Careful...," he commented softly after he had caught himself. He listened to Kyran's response and then caught himself smiling weakly when Kyran said that he didn't know princess Selenity and better than he did. "...Everyone in this city knows about Princess Selenity. She's beautiful, graceful, elegant, talented, ...well mannered," he chucked weakly at the well mannered part considering that after being near her he could put that one into debate. "...Every girl around here wishes they could be her, and most of the men would love to be in my shoes right about now." He did roll his eyes just a little at that, since he would probably trade just about any one of them. "...I want to know Selenity...not the perfect icon everyone idolizes. I think you and your friends probably know her better than even her own father to be perfectly honest.... I want to know what she is like when her every move isn't being scrutinized. What sorts of things does she enjoy? How does she behave? Does she like children? What's her favorite color?" He sighed heavily and shook his head a little, letting his ears lay back. "...I...," he started but then he cut himself off and sighed again, shaking his head. "...Never mind...," he muttered quietly. "...I'm sorry, I shouldn't be asking you. I just...I don't really know how to face her...or what to say at this point." Honestly, he was starting to think that it really didn't matter what he said. No one ever listened. His opinion never mattered with his mother, and he didn't think that anything he said was going to make Selenity feel any better. Her father was pushing him almost as much as his mother was to propose to her, and he wasn't entirely sure how to wiggle his way out of it.

Kyran stared at Ellior and listened to what he was saying. His question wasn't really that weird really and of course he would want to know more about Selenity... and who better to ask than the guy who would love nothing more than to be in Ellior's place. Though... Ellior didn't really know that. He sighed softly once Ellior had finished and said never mind. If he didn't think that Selenity would be better off with someone like Ellior he might have left it at never mind... but if she couldn't be with him, he'd rather she was with someone like Ellior. At least the guy appeared to be truly considerate and kind, well mannered, etc. He'd be good for the royal life most likely. He sighed softly and bit back the urge to just not say a word in answer to Ellior's question. “....She's still everything you rattled off...” He started almost quietly, not bothering to look at Ellior. “She's strong, independent, extremely intelligent. She knows a lot more than you would think she should about just about anything.” He paused. “She likes to read and enjoys good dancing. She Doesn't like being forced into a box, or image, or whatever you want to call it. She wants to be herself more than anything.” He smiled a little weakly, trying to keep too much emotion from his voice. “She enjoys helping others and doesn't mind putting herself out for the sake of someone else. She doesn't care where you stand in the hierarchy... everyone is equal.. and the same goes for what color your scales are. She won't outright hate someone without being given a good reason.” He paused and smiled a little happier. “...She's extremely stubborn ...but isn't afraid to admit when she's wrong...”He shook his head slightly. He really was talking a lot... and hadn't entirely answered any questions too specifically. But then... he couldn't entirely remember what exactly Ellior had asked once he got to talking about Selenity... and he tried desperately not to sound like he was talking about the love of his life. Though... that was probably a lot more difficult than it should have been considering he was talking to an actor.

Ellior assumed that with Kyran's current mood he would thankfully let the topic drop, so he was rather surprised when he decided to answer him anyway. He slowed his pace a little so that he was walking closer to Kyran. Given how lot he was talking that was almost essential in being capable of hearing him. He tilted his head a bit when he got around to talking about how independent and intelligent that Selenity was. He had never quite imagined the princess as being independent considering how many maids were at her beckon call, but then again he had never met her before the day he ran into her. He smiled a little when he heard that she liked to read and enjoyed a good dance. "Well, I am in trouble then, " he said with a weak laugh. Ellior knew how to dance, but he wouldn't call himself good at it. He was always a little awkward when he tried to dance with a girl, partially because he wasn't entirely comfortable with being that close to them...when it wasn't required for a play. He sighed softly when Kyran added that she hated being forced into an image and that she just wanted to be herself. Don't we all? he found himself thinking after a moment. Once Kyran started to continue he glanced over at him, noticing the way that he smiled a little as he described the way that Selenity enjoyed helping others and how she didn't care who you were or what color your scales were. Something in the way that he said that...or perhaps it was the look on his face caught Ellior's attention. He didn't breathe a word as he looked over at him while he continued to smile and talk about how stubborn Selenity could be and how she wasn't afraid to admit when she was wrong. He came to a slow standstill as he continued to stare at Kyran with something akin to showed realization on his face. "...You are in love with her, aren't you?" he asked. His voice held no hint of scorn or accusation when he spoke, he simply sounded as if he had just connected the last little dot to form that particular picture. After the words were spoken out loud, he almost instantly regretted them since that explained so much from why Kyran was down to why he had been acting distant from him...and why talking about what was bothering him wouldn't matter. His ears fell back slightly and his face showed something between sympathy and shame. He didn't know why he hadn't thought of it sooner, given that Selenity had been traveling with all of these people. She had seemed to stick pretty close to Kyran out of all of them, and on top of that, if there was nothing going on between any of them, why else would she be so upset about his proposal? Well...then again, maybe that was thinking a little too highly of himself, but...even still, it made more and more sense.

Kyran didn't entirely stop walking until he heard Ellior ask what he had, about him being in love with the Princess. He just kind of froze there for a moment trying not to show too much of a shocked reaction. He supposed it was obvious in the way that he talked about her, that he loved her, but he had hoped that it hadn't shown. After the shock of the question wore off he just kind of stood there silently without looking at Ellior. His expression trying to fall into a saddened one at fact that the man who was getting to marry the woman he loved, had just figured it all out... but he stopped himself with a great effort and let his face slide into a blank state. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly then finally turned his attention towards Ellior. “....The answer to that question doesn't matter.” He told him honestly. It really didn't matter nor did his admitting out loud to Ellior that he was in love with the Princess mean that anything was going to change. It wasn't going to change and he really didn't want to voice out loud to Ellior that he was in love with someone he couldn't be with. His heart hurt enough as it was. He let his glance fall towards the ground momentarily before slowly running them back towards the direction that they were walking and then slowly started to walk again without a word. He wasn't really sure what to say to Ellior now anyway...

Ellior had no idea what to say once he had spoken, although just from the way that Kyran stopped moving he had a feeling that he had hit the nail on the head. He continued to stand there silently, unable to tear that sympathetic gaze away from him, even after he looked at him. "...Kyran...," he started quietly, but he was unable to get further. In a way, Kyran was right. The answer didn't matter...simply because of his social status, and more so the color of his scales. He continued to stand there, without even offering to move again, even once Kyran had started moving again. His heart ached for Kyran, and he imagined that he was the absolute last person who the guy wanted to see. Did Selenity feel the same way? Perhaps that was why she almost appeared to hate him. He shut his eyes for a moment and bowed his head a little. He hadn't wanted this at all. He didn't want to marry a woman who didn't love him, let alone a woman who loved someone else, and he also didn't want to come between anyone. He didn't move from that stop for a while but finally, he started to walk again slowly. He didn't want to go back to the palace tonight. He had been trying to play things cool and hide his distress all day, but this was just a little too much to process at once. He was tired of trying to keep up a poker face, and he knew that if his mother got wind of what was bothering him that she would never understand. She was the type to simply dismiss Kyran as a pathetic fool for falling for someone who was "out of his league". He was sure those were the words that she would use. Rather than return to the palace tonight, he started to deter alone one of the side roads what would take him back to his own house. For tonight, he thought it would be best for him to just get out of everyone else's hair for a while.

Unfortunately for Kyran, Keren was still throwing a fit because Ellior had been absent since just after breakfast today. She had been bothering the guards half to death trying to get one of them to go find Ellior and get him back here. When that hadn't worked she had taken to simply hover around the main entrance waiting for him since she assumed that he would be coming back sometime soon, seeing as it was getting later in the day. Normally visitors were prohibited from entering the palace after sunset, so he would have to be back sometime soon. As soon as Kyran was entering the hall she descended on him with her natural disregard for the mood of the person she was addressing. "You, have you seen Ellior?" she demanded. She already looked a bit frazzled, and she had that look on her face that she always got before she was about ready to go off on someone. Ellior was definitely going to be in for an ear full once he got back here, that was for certain.

Kyran really, honestly, had no idea what to say to Ellior. Even once he had started walking he wasn't sure what to say to him. Sometimes walking could help clear your mind, or at least help a little. In this case, given the gloomy topic that was on his mind, he really couldn't do anything to make it better. He knew in the back of his mind that none of this was really Ellior's fault and that he shouldn't hold it against him... but it was hard not to be just a little mad at the guy. Ellior was pretty much having the option of marrying Selenity thrown in his face... what he wouldn't give for that option. He sighed almost heavily, having given up at least momentarily on trying to keep himself in check. His face was as blank as he could make it but the set of his shoulders and just the all around aura of him probably gave him away. He really wasn't in that great of a mood and right now all he really thought he wanted was to get back to the palace and up to the room he was sharing with Celestine. Being alone, maybe to work on what he wanted to make would help relax and calm him a little. Or at least take his mind off things for a little while. Once he had started walking towards the palace he didn't really bother paying any attention to Ellior. It hadn't been intentional, but he figured that Ellior was going the same place as him and was most likely only a few feet behind him. There wasn't really a need to double check and make sure that he was indeed following him. When he finally started into the palace and the first thing that found him was Keren he couldn't have thought the day could get any worse. He hadn't known the woman very long but already she had set an extremely poor image of herself. He didn't care for the woman and wasn't sure anyone else in the group did either. He just kind of stared at her for a minute when she asked, not so nicely, if he had seen Ellior. He absently glanced behind him briefly, fighting to hide a little surprise at not seeing Ellior behind him. Maybe he shouldn't have been surprised not to see him... but he had thought he was coming back to the palace too. He sighed quietly and turned his attention back towards Keren. “I'm afraid not.” He flat-out lied. Ellior may not have been his favorite person but he could tell that Keren wasn't thrilled with her son at the moment and didn't entirely feel like being an ass and throwing him to the wolves. He had to have a good reason for not following him back to the palace. He didn't care what the reason was but he wasn't saying a word to Keren about having seen him just minutes ago. “...And by the way, Keren ...I do have a name and it isn't 'You'.” He paused. “It's Kyran.” He told her seriously. He may not have wanted to throw Ellior to the wolves... but he didn't really mind correcting the woman. She didn't need to go around demanding things of people and just calling them 'You'... especially not friends of the Princess.

Keren sighed in frustration and glowered at the palace doors when Kyran told her that he hadn't seem Ellior. "Honestly, that boy! Always wasting his time with that useless, foolish hobby!" she grumbled. What was she going to have to do to get it through his head that he was too good to be on that stage? He was supposed to be one of the ones sitting in the box watching those fools, not act as one of the fools himself. She narrowed her eyes a little at Kyran when he had to go and tell her that he had a name. "Do you think that I take time to remember the name of everyone who crosses my path?" she asked him shortly."

"I think you should start," came Selenity's voice from the stairway. She had finally woken up from her little nap in the library a little while back and was finally getting up to head back up to her room. She just happened to hear Keren throwing a fit on her way across the balcony and decided to come down to shut her up, especially after she saw who it was that she was going off at. She hadn't overlooked the fact that Kyran hadn't been around all day, she so was really glad to see him now that he was back. She sighed as she descended the stairs carefully and then let her gown go so that her hands were free. She walked over to the two of them, giving Keren a bit of an irritated look. "Lady Keren, if you are so concerned about your son, I suggest that you go out and look for him yourself rather than annoy the palace guards and my friends into tracking him down for you. If he is not back soon then he can spend the night at his own house...and if you cannot control yourself, you can join him," she told her firmly. Obviously she was hardly in the mood to put up with Keren. As far as she was concerned Keren was as much to blame for her current situation as her father or Ellior.

Keren startled a little when Selenity suddenly spoke up behind her. She turned about to look at her when she started to to address her, and puffed up in offence at what the princess had to say to her. How dare the disrespectful little twerp talk to someone older than her that way. "Excuse me,your highness," she responded shortly. "I was simply wondering where your fiance ran off to."

"I don't care where he ran off to. For all I care he can stay there," Selenity snapped back irritably. "Now leave Kyran alone and either go bother my father or return to your room...or go home." She crossed her arms and sighed before shifting her weight a little. Tonight,s he made no attempt at all to hide her distaste for Keren...although she did refrain from just flat out telling her to get the fuck out of her sight.

Karen narrowed her eyes a little when Selenity responded to her again. "Huh!" she huffed before she turned and started to storm away without another word. Akito was certainly going to be hearing about this later. She supposed this was what happened when a girl was raised half of her life without a mother, she completely forgot how to act like a lady. Of course in Keren's opinion she was a perfect lady. She knew who to show respect to and who it really didn't matter. She and Selenity probably would have gotten along a lot better if Selenity was the type to take social status into consideration, but of course that wasn't happening at all.

Kyran just stood where he was and stared down at Keren with a relatively blank face while she ranted about her son's hobby. He didn't bother commenting of course, just stood there and tried not to listen to her too much. He had thought that he could just walk off but that would probably just wind up getting him bitched at even more. He focused more on Keren when she responded to what he said about his name and was fully prepared to say something to her, even had his mouth open to speak and then closed it slowly when he heard Selenity's voice. He lifted his eyes from Keren slowly and then let them trail over to Selenity. His expression had at least changed some so that he didn't quite look so down. At least Keren was good for one thing. Listening to her rant and having her get under his scales a little had helped to change the look to his face and eyes. Or well, the look behind the blank face he was trying to hold in place. He wasn't at all surprised to hear Selenity say what she had. She always came to anyone's defense when they were being picked on or talked down to and didn't have a problem reprimanding the trouble maker. He wasn't even surprised to hear her talk to Keren the way she did about Ellior. Honestly... there was probably little that Selenity could do anymore that would surprise him. He continued to stand where he was silently while Selenity and Keren addressed one another and managed to keep his thoughts off his face. Part of him was happy to see Selenity, even if she was currently wringing Keren a new one... but the other part of him wasn't so happy to have run into her already, especially after the little chat that he had just had with Ellior. He watched briefly when Keren finally stormed off and couldn't help but shake his head a little. That woman... he didn't know how Ellior could put up with her at all. His eyes lingered after Keren absently. He did finally glance to Selenity and offer her the most pleasant smile that he could muster. It was almost completely fake, but he wasn't too worried about her catching it as fake. She wasn't Ellior after all. “You saved me, thank you.” He said with a warmer, fake smile.

Selenity sighed heavily once Keren was out of ear shot and shook her head slightly. She still had a bit of that tired, sleepy look about her face. She was not in a very good mood, and seeing Keren certainly hadn't improved it in the least. Once Keren was gone she turned her attention to Kyran and sighed softly. "...Yeah...," she muttered softly. "I'm sorry about her...I don't really know what to do about her...sort of kicking her out of the palace." She shook her head again and then sighed before she finally turned her eyes back to Kyran. She tried to give him a smile, although hers was weaker and probably a little more fake looking than his. She was too tired to try to act like she wasn't bothered, although she wasn't entirely sure why it was she was still feeling so drained. Maybe it was just stress catching up with her. After all, she had been thrown into this trip completely unprepared just like the rest of them and then for the longest had practically been the only one amongst them with any healing abilities. Now that she was home, she was back to being a princess and having all of this thrown in her face, while she still had the obligation of figuring out where the light clan's relic was hiding and guiding everyone to it. All of that could pretty easily make someone want to just curl up and sleep for a while. She knew that she had no room to complain since everyone else was probably feeling about the same way, but it was still a pain. "...So...I seem to have missed you at breakfast...," she commented casually, "...Where have you been hiding all day?"

Kyran couldn't help but shake his head a little when Selenity apologized for Keren and said that she didn't really know what to do with her, short of kicking her out of the palace. “I don't think anyone knows what to do with her, even her own son.” He commented with another slight shake of his head. “...I'm not sure whether or not it was better to lie for him or not...” He paused. “I can't decide whether or not that woman will be worse now, or later...” He certainly hoped that Ellior would get a break from his mother, though he somewhat doubted it. He supposed that in all actuality he didn't really care at the moment if Ellior's mother was hard on him. The guy was getting to marry Selenity after all... one bitchy mother was at least some form of punishment. He shoved that thought away pretty easily. He shouldn't hold a grudge about this, there really was nothing that could be done about it. He just kind of stared at Selenity for a moment or two when she asked him where he had been hiding all day. He wasn't really surprised that she had asked that, though he wished she hadn't. He didn't really want to lie to her in anyway... but then again, that was part of the reason that he had gone to the embassy to begin with. He smiled weakly. “...Yeah, sorry.” He started. “...I spent most of the day at the embassy doing some work for them.”He responded simply. “....How're you feeling? You look a little worse for wear...”He asked, mostly to change the subject of his whereabouts, but he was curious about how she was feeling.

Selenity half smiled when Kyran said that he didn't think that even Ellior knew what to do with his mother. "...I suppose. ...I almost feel sorry for him having to live with that." Of course if she would up marrying Ellior there was a good possibility that sh was going to be stuck living with that as well.... He shook her head a little trying to push that unpleasant thought again. She really just didn't want to think about marrying Ellior and what all would come of it. She chuckled softly and shook her head a little. "So I suppose you did run into him after all...," she assumed by the way that he said that he didn't know if it was better to lie for Ellior or not. "...He's been gone since just after breakfast...." She nodded her head slightly when Kyran told her where he had been. "Oh,"she replied simply for lack of a better response. She was a little surprised that he would be going to work while he was here, but she supposed it was a good way to escape for a little while. She sighed heavily when Kyran asked her how she was feeling. "Oh...don't even ask...," she said with a heavy sigh. "...I'm fine, Kyran...I'm just tired," she answered quietly, "...and frustrated...." She looked back up to his face for a few moments before she sighed and glanced away again. There were a lot of things that she wanted to say right now, but considering that they weren't quite alone she couldn't really manage much. There were still guards standing around still as stone and pretty easy to forget, but it wasn't hard for her to remember that the walls had ears around here. "...Would you care to walk with me?" she asked with another slight smile as she looked up at him again. At least maybe if they got outside they could talk without being overheard.
