Kyran smiled very slightly and shook his head a little when Selenity questioned that he ran into Ellior. “Actually, he ran into me... on my way out of the embassy.” He shook his head just a little once again. “I'm afraid he may start making a habit of running into, or over us.” He said mostly jokingly. He wasn't exactly in the mood to be joking around any, but at least it helped keep his real mood from showing. He didn't want to drag Selenity's mood or temper anywhere with his own. That was the last thing that anyone needed. Besides, as much as he hated it... he didn't think that he was going to fight this marriage thing much at all. It was a good thing... or it would be if Selenity was able to just accept it and Ellior. He stared at Selenity with a little concern when he responded to him not to even ask about how she was feeling. He just kind of nodded his head a little when she told him that she was fine, just tired... and frustrated. Weren't they both. At least he didn't entirely look tired. Perhaps in need of sleep soon considering he had left the palace before breakfast, but certainly not tired the way that Selenity was. Though he guessed she may have meant sleepy as well. He hadn't been paying very much attention to the surrounding guards, partially because he didn't really care that they were there. They were meant to blend in most of the time and just be silent eyes and ears, at least until something came up. So yeah... he ignored them completely unless they addressed him first. That was most likely a learned habit in his case. Working at the embassy's and working with high class people a lot, you learn or pick up on things a lot of other high class people do or say. In this case, it was ignoring the guards and thinking of them as nothing more than a wall fixture or piece of furniture. He was slightly surprised to have Selenity ask if he would take a walk with her, but he supposed that was mostly due to the fact that he really wanted nothing more than to barricade himself up in the room he was sharing with Celestine. He wasn't sure that he was ready to have any sort of private talk with Selenity. It was needed, they really did need to talk... but he didn't think he wanted to do that right now, so soon. “...I would be honored, Princess.” He said against his better judgment. “Lead the way.”

Selenity half smiled when Kyran told her that Ellior ran into him...and made it sound quite literally. Knowing what she did of Ellior it certainly wouldn't surprise her. She chuckled weakly at his joke that Ellior was going to make a habit of running into, or over them. "Let's hope not...," she replied simply, "next time I may have to lay him out on the ground for a while." Were she not forcefully engaged to the guy she might have found his klutzy tendency to run into people kind of cute, but right now everything about Ellior was annoying her. She wasn't entirely sure that she wanted to talk to Kyran alone right now either, but she knew that she didn't want to continue to stand here and talk where all of the guards could hear them. Normally she completely ignored the guards, unless she was trying to sneak past them, but right now she really just didn't want to slip up and say something that she didn't mean to have heard. She gave Kyran a bit of an odd look when he responded to her request so formally, and was almost hurt by it. Perhaps she was just being touchy right now, but it was just too distant for her liking...even if it was just meant to be a play up for the guards. "...Follow me," she responded quietly before she turned and started to make her way back toward the stairway. Rather than go up the stairs she continued along the hallway, all the way to the back, which would eventually come to a pair of double doors that would open up to the second landing of the balcony that overlooked the garden. Naturally, as it was at all entrances and exits to the palace, there were guards by the doors, but once in the garden they could have a little peace and quiet. For the most part the garden seemed to be empty for the most part, which was natural given that it was almost dusk and most had turned in by now. She glanced back to Kyran momentarily as they reached the stairs and then tried to give him a smile. "...Have you explored the back yard as of yet?" she asked casually as she pulled up the edge of her dress and started to descend the stairs.

Kyran's formal response was mostly due to the fact that he addressing the Princess in front of guards, or well, just because he was in the palace in general and he shouldn't really speak too causally to the Princess. Other people would see it as disrespectful... but the other part of his reasoning was that he should put a little distance between them. She was going to have to marry Ellior and he certainly didn't need anyone else picking up on the fact that he loved the Princess and vice-versa. He really doubted that it would bode well if anyone else other than Ellior picked up on that little tid-bit. It was a lot easier to protect that information if he wasn't too casual with her. He hated to treat her like the Princess she was and not the woman he loved... but there wasn't really anything to be done about it. He could just imagine the hell it would cause if someone like Keren found out about the love between him and Selenity. He could probably very easily see himself kicked out of the palace, or even the territory just so that he wasn't in the way and couldn't meddle with the marriage that was being arranged. Not that he planned to meddle with it... but knowing Keren, what little he did know, she would probably want to do away with any trouble makers... or perceived trouble-makers in his case since he didn't think he was going to try and stop it from happening. Once Selenity started walking he gave a brief moment before starting after her. If he hadn't thought it would look terribly wrong he probably would have offered her his arm as they walked... but he wasn't sure how that would look to someone else. He remained silent while he was following her and didn't speak up until she asked him if he had explored the back yard yet. He shook his head slightly then thought better of it. She couldn't very well see him shake his head while she was going down the stairs. “No, I have not.” He answered and continued to follow her. He had seen the back yard briefly when everyone had gone into the ballroom but he spent most of that time focused on Nanashi and the piano. Other than that, he hadn't been anywhere near the backyard or the gardens.

Selenity made her way carefully down the stairs keeping close tot he railing so that she could hold onto something. Given the heels she was in she didn't particularly want to go rolling down the stairs, especially not in front of Kyran. She was pretty sure what happened with Nero was quite enough of an embarrassment for one day. She nodded her head a little when he told her that he hadn't been down here yet. "I see," she responded simply. Once she reached the walkway she waited for Kyran to catch up with her and then started to move away from the stairs slowly. "I suppose this is probably one of my favorite places around here," she said simply as she started to follow one of the paths that would take them into the tall hedges and fences which had been taken over by climbing roses. As late in the year as it was, it was surprising that all for these flowers were still in bloom, however when magical beings lived in one place long enough, the forests and the land seemed to learn some magic of their own. It almost always seemed like spring here. Once they had slipped a bit further onto the pathway she sighed softly and let her dress down a little. "...If anyone wants to find us, they are going to have to come looking," she commented softly. She wandered a bit further into the twisting path and then stopped and looked back to Kyran again. "...I'm sorry...Kyran...," she told him quietly. She looked up at him with an almost desperate look in her eyes, but there was also a bit of hopelessness there as well. "...I don't know what to do about this...."

Kyran continued to follow after Selenity without too much chatter other than short answers to questions and things she had said. He almost absently kept a closer eye on her as they were descending the stairs. The last thing he wanted was a mishap because of the clothes that she was wearing. It had been awhile as far as he knew since the last time that she wore clothes like that... but then again he was probably a little worried over nothing. Women didn't just forget how to move in certain types of clothes. He continued to follow her as she started into the area with the hedges and climbing roses, admiring the scenery while he went. The garden was actually really pretty, not that he thought it shouldn't be. This was a palace after all... they wouldn't let it not be pretty back here. He smiled slightly when she commented that this was probably one of her favorite places around here. He wasn't really surprised by that he supposed. He didn't bother commenting when she said that if anyone wanted to find them they would have to come looking. There wasn't really much to say to that so he really only just nodded his head a little. He stopped a few feet behind her when she stopped and just looked at her for a moment when she started to apologize. He wasn't sure what to say to that... and the look in her eyes wasn't helping matters... and it certainly wasn't helping him keep a calm straight, maybe even detached expression on his face. Seeing her look like that really only made him want to do one thing; Hug her. He continued to stare at her when she said that she didn't know what to do about this. He didn't know what to do about it either and he certainly didn't know what to tell her. He was quiet for a few moments and then sighed softly. “...It'll all work out ...somehow...” He uttered quietly. He had for the most part decided that it would be best not to cause a problem with this marriage, as much as he hated the fact that she was going to have to marry Ellior... but really, what could he, a dragon from another clan... who wasn't even Royalty, do about it? Having something like this come up, so suddenly, really made him want to think himself an idiot for believing that it was okay to fall in love with a woman he couldn't ever be with. His father had done it and look where it got him...

Selenity continued to stare at Kyran helplessly during his long silence. Deep down she knew there was nothing he could do and that there wasn't much that he could say. She knew it...but still she wished he could say something that was going to make everything better. She wished he would just walk up and put his arms around her as well, but he knew that it wouldn't help matters if someone caught them...so she didn't move either, no matter how badly that she wanted to go to him. When he finally did speak she sighed softly and finally dropped her eyes, bowing her head ever so slightly before her ears fell back. "...Yes...I suppose it will," she responded quietly. She stepped back slowly and then turned around and walked a little further down the path until she reached one of the many little crevices which hid a bench where the people who had been outside following these several winding paths for a while could sit down to rest, relax, and admire the scenery. She sighed as she turned and sat down on the bench carefully, making sure to leave plenty of room for Kyran to sit down if he chose to. She kept her eyes down on the walkway for a few moments before slowly raising her eyes to the rosebush across from her. "...I just can't believe this...I guess I should have expected something like it but...I didn't really think he would go so far as to marry me off without my consent." She shook her head a little and then sighed softly and closed her eyes and leaned forward to rest her head in her hands, while she propped her elbows on her knees. In all honestly, she couldn't say that she had anything against Ellior...he was a sweet guy, but that didn't mean that she wanted to marry someone whom she barely knew. Granted, if one wanted to get technical she had only known Kyran for a few months, but already he knew here better than most people did and they had been through a lot together with the others in that short time. He had even risked his safety trying to save her. She didn't really think she could ask for more...so what if his scares were a different color and he wasn't born from nobility? It didn't matter to her, so she didn't see why it should have to matter so much to everyone else.

Kyran stayed pretty quiet after his comment and just stood there silently. He didn't know what else to say that wouldn't cause a problem. Anything and everything that he would have liked to have said or done, he couldn't. He watched her for a moment when she started to move and started a little further down, winding up on a bench. After a moment he started after her though he didn't bother sitting down on the bench with her. Ordinarily he probably would have sat down beside her but he worried he really would wind up hugging her or something if he was that close to her. Given that he just stood off to the side of where she was sitting so that he could still hear her just fine when she spoke. He averted his eyes slightly when she did speak up. He wasn't sure that he was all that surprised that a King would marry off his own daughter without her consent. He didn't really think it was that abnormal either... it was a way to make sure you kept the Royal line pure and in good shape. Then of course Selenity was more than old enough to be thinking about marriage, especially considering that she was a Royal Princess. He was quiet for a moment or two after she had spoken and hadn't really bothered to look back over at her. “.....I doubt he expected you to have any complaints ...thus it wouldn't have been a problem...” He commented quietly. “...and ...if you hadn't been on this trip...” He paused and sighed softly. “You probably wouldn't be in the situation you are now...” He figured that if she hadn't been on the trip with everyone the past few months would have been spent with her interviewing and being courted by candidates. So really... all her father did was look into it while she was away and he found someone that he liked and really, Selenity should've liked Ellior as well. There wasn't really anything wrong with the guy other than his mother, but that couldn't be helped.

Selenity signed again softly when Kyran finally started to speak, but she didn't bother to raise her head from her hands fora few moments after he was finished. Slowly she raised her head a little and then turned her head a little to look at him sadly. "...Neither would you...," she commented softly. She knew after everything that his sister had told her, as well as things that he himself had said, that this had to be hard on him. Besides...he was the one practically being told without words that he wasn't good enough for her. She turned her eyes away again and then sighed softly. "...If I hadn't have been on this trip...I wouldn't have met you...and I probably would have married Ellior without much complaint. ...He...he is nice...I suppose...but...I...I just don't want him. I want....." She sighed again and shook her head a little. "...But I guess...we really never get what we want, do we?" she muttered softly. "...I'm really sorry that I've put you through this, Kyran...," she told him in a weak, shaky voice. She was right on the verge of just losing it right there, but she really didn't want to wind up throwing a sob fit in front of Kyran. He already had to be feeling down, and she really didn't want to make it worse, but she didn't know how much longer she could possibly hold it together. After a moment she took a deep breath and sat up straight again. "...I think I'm going to stay out here for a while," she told Kyran quietly. "...If you wish you may go back inside. I will be fine. ...I'm sorry to have held you up...."

Kyran stood relatively silently and listened to Selenity while she spoke, glancing at her a little here and there while she was talking. He found it a little hard to actually give her perfect eye contact while she was talking like she was, especially with such emotion in her voice. He was trying to keep himself together and, honestly, it was a little difficult when she was around. He hadn't flat out cried or anything yet... but who knew how much longer he had it in him to keep his eyes dry. He just kind of stared at her for minute after she had given him permission to leave. He knew he probably should have just turned on his heel and started out of the tall hedges, but he couldn't exactly bring himself to leave her here alone. Not when he was pretty sure he would be leaving her here to cry, alone. He gave a soft sigh and edged closer to her before kneeling down on one knee in front of her. He was careful to avoid whatever pieces of her dress might be on the ground and reached out to take one of her hands in his gently. “...I don't regret that I met you, the real you, nor do I regret the fact that I fell in love with you...” He uttered quietly, almost in a whisper as he stared up at her. He lifted his free hand and moved it towards her cheek so that he could caress it lightly. “...Even though we can't be together, my feelings won't ever change ...and we knew ...something like this ...would happen, just maybe not so soon... or this way...” He said quietly with a sigh and started to lower his hand from her face. “......Ellior ...he's not so bad...” He paused and shook his head a little. “...Just give him a chance, you may find you like him... and that would be better... then your father forcing you onto a different guy...”

Selenity really didn't want to wind up crying right now, especially in front of Kyran. She did feel terrible that she had allowed feelings to grow between them, especially when she DID know that something like this was bound to happen. So long as the clans were at each other's throats and clinging to every ounce of stubborn pride they could manage to find to cling to, it was almost impossible for someone like her to be with someone like him, no matter how much she cared for him. After giving him permission to go she half expected Kyran to just leave, so she was a little surprised when instead he came to kneel in front of her. She stared down at him when he reached for her hand and let him take it as she stared back into his eyes. She could already feel her eyes starting to water when he told her that he didn't regret meeting her, or falling in love with her. She honestly didn't see how he couldn't regret it after this, and she had a feeling that he was only saying that to try to make her feel better, but it still meant a lot. She leaned her head into his hand when he raised it to her face and tried desperately to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill out of her eyes since she knew they would only make matters worse. Slowly, she raised her free hand up to her face as well, allowing it to rest lightly over Kyran's. She really didn't know what to say to him now, even though she felt the same way. He would always have a special place in her heart...but she couldn't manage to get those words out. She was afraid that if she tried to talk now she was just going to end up sobbing into his shoulder...and she really didn't think he needed to deal with that. She did finally at least nod her head a little...just to give him some sort of response to those words. She allowed him to pull his hand down, although once it was away from her face she absently curled her fingers around his hand so that he couldn't entirely take it away from her. She blinked, looking just a little stunned when he told her that Ellior wasn't so bad. Was he seriously telling her to give the guy a chance? She continued to stare at him looking a little stunned for a few moments longer before her gaze saddened again as she nodded her head a little. "...Alright...," she agreed in a voice that was barely above a whisper. She didn't know what else she could do, really. If Kyran was asking her to give the guy a chance...she supposed that meant he had already pretty much given up on the idea of the two of them being together. She slowly released her grip on Kyran's hand and raised her own hand to his face, gently running her fingers over his cheek before he pushed them back through his hair gently. "...If...that is what you want me to do...," she told him quietly. She leaned a little closer to him, lowering her hand to his shoulder as she did so. She wanted to press her lips against his, but instead she leaned to the side and pressed her lips against her cheek lightly. Her hand moved almost on it's own to wrap around his neck for a moment before she caught herself and forced herself to sit up straight again.

Kyran felt a little torn when it came to exactly how he felt about whether or not he regretted anything about meeting Selenity, or falling in love with her. A part of him didn't regret any of it and cherished the fact that he got to meet her and fell in love with her... and then the other part of himself was seriously giving him a swift kick in the ass. He had known better and he hadn't protected himself whatsoever as far as his heart was concerned. He wasn't entirely surprised that he stunned her when he told her to give Ellior a chance. He was a little stunned himself and almost couldn't believe that he actually said it. Telling the woman that he loved to give another guy a chance, honestly, what was he thinking? He couldn't help but sigh quietly after hearing her say she would if that was what he wanted her to do. He stared at her for a few moments, wanting desperately to tell her that he didn't want that. That he wanted her to be with him and no other man, that they'd fight her father to be together if they had to... but... he just couldn't. She was royalty after all... and she needed a nice light clan dragon to marry... That would certainly be more presentable then a thunder clan dragon beside her for the rest of her life.. and a thunder clan dragon definitely couldn't be that close to a throne even if the territory was accepting of most other clans. They just weren't that accepting. After she kissed his cheek he wasn't sure that he could keep the hurt from his eyes and the pain at not being able to tell her he didn't want this. It was what was best... he just wished it didn't make him feel like his heart was breaking. He continued to kneel there for a few moments longer before he started to lean forward, as if he were going to give her one last kiss. He stopped himself inches from her, shut his eyes, drew himself back and sighed softly. He took a hand instead and lifted it gently so that he could place a kiss upon the back of her hand. “....I'm sorry....” He uttered quietly as he drew back from her hand, letting it go slowly and then easing back so that he could rise to his feet. He wasn't sure what else he could possibly say and it was likely more painful to just stand there with her without anything to say. He also wanted to just go hide somewhere, someplace where he could at least try and be alone. Any more time with her and he might break down and tell her the truth, that he really wasn't okay with Ellior.

Selenity knew that even if Kyran didn't feel it was best to give up quietly, that there wasn't a whole lot that they could do. She was well aware that her people would not accept a thunder dragon as their king, nor would they accept mixed breeds as the future heirs tot he throne. She was from one of the purest bloodlines of their clan, so naturally they weren't going to want to let her taint that blood now by marrying a thunder dragon. Even still...she would sooner give up her title and her position if it meant that she could be with him...it never had been more than a bother to her anyway. It wasn't hard for her to read the misery in Kyran's eyes when she pulled back, especially since her own eyes mirrored that same expression. She was still trying desperately to hold it together, but she didn't know how much longer she could keep her eyes dry. After all, she had more or less accepted the fact long ago that when she married she was going to be married off to some rick, likely noble because she didn't see herself every falling in love. Now that she had, it was hard to go back to that other image. She could have kicked herself now for ever even letting herself imagine being with Kyran as anything more than a travel companion for this trip. She started to close her eyes when she say Kyran leaning in and leaned forward just a little herself. She wanted to feel his lips on hers at least once more...even if it was a bad idea. When he sighed she opened her eyes again and then sat back herself. She followed Kyran's movements silently with her eyes and watched him, almost as if she was standing apart from herself and watching him kiss the hand of the princess. She felt the tears pricking at her eyes again when he apologized and blinked them back again, clenching her jaw a little as she tried to swallow her tears. "...Don't," she told him quietly, and that was the only thing she was able to say. He had no reason to be sorry. None of this was his fault. She was a fool for ever getting herself into this mess in the first place and the last thing that she needed was his apologies. She shook her head a little and finally had to just look away from him altogether. She didn't offer to get up from where she was sitting. She didn't feel like going back inside right now, not if it just meant having to put up a smile and act like nothing was wrong. She would sooner spend the night right here on this bench than have to put up with that for another minute today.

Kyran couldn't even really be sure what exactly he was apologizing for. It probably could have counted for several things. He was sorry that this had happened, sorry that it hurt her the way it did, sorry that she had to deal with it and couldn't escape it, sorry that he couldn't even bring himself to kiss her one last time, sorry that he couldn't comfort her the way he wanted to, sorry that he couldn't tell her he wasn't okay with her giving Ellior a chance... there were a lot of things he could apologize for. He was also sorry that he couldn't bring himself to stand here with her any longer. He didn't want to see her cry... it would make him break... and the last thing anyone needed was a bigger complication to everything and that's exactly what it would be if he broke and comforted her the way he wanted to. He lingered there for a few moments without bothering to make eye contact. “....I am sorry.”He reiterated once more and then didn't bother sticking around to hear her say anything else. He started back tracking the way that she had lead them and started for the palace again so that he could go to his room.

Selenity kept her head down so that she wouldn't have to look at Kyran, and so that he couldn't see her face. She didn't want to cry in front of him. She was trying to tell herself it would be better this way. Yes, she was sad, but if they ended it now, quickly, maybe it would just be like ripping off a bandage. It would sting for a little while and then be fine. That was what she wanted to believe, but right now that definitely wasn't how it felt. He shut her eyes again tightly when he apologized to her again and continued to sit there as still as a statue until he was well out of her sight before she finally caved and dropped her face into her hands, sobbing none too quietly. At this point, she really didn't give a damn who heard her, so long as it wasn't Kyran. She didn't care about keeping up her appearance or any of that pointless nonsense, especially since there was no one to see her. There was one person whom she really cared about impressing, and he was already gone. She supposed now she would have to give Ellior a chance...even if she didn't want to. She didn't want to get anywhere near another man, not while she still felt that gaping void that Kyran left in his wake. He may have still been around...but she couldn't have him, so in a way she had lost him. The sad part was, no one here was going to care. They were going to expect her to marry Ellior as her father told her and be happy with it. She knew that...and she hated that. She hated being constantly surrounded by people and still feeling so alone.

Kyran wasted little time getting to the palace and up the stairs so that he could slip back inside. Call it cowardly, but he hadn't wanted to be anywhere within earshot when Selenity started crying. He had a pretty good feeling she would and he couldn't hear it, he just couldn't. He didn't want all of this to make her cry and he certainly didn't want it to hurt her, but there wasn't anything that he could do about it. It was going to happen and the least he could do was make himself scarce so that this wasn't any harder than it already was. He hated himself for ditching her like he was... and hated himself more for leaving her outside to cry all by herself. He almost wished that there had been someone nearby from the group that he could send after her... but at this hour he didn't expect to find anyone just waiting to be found. He supposed all things considered she wouldn't be out there too long. Someone would go looking for her, most likely a guard or something... but at least she would be found. He tried convincing himself that he really didn't need to turn around and go back to her as he walked down the hall to the stairs that would lead him up to the guest rooms. He absently patted his pocket as he got to the stairs and started up them. He was just making sure that he hadn't lost anything from his shopping trip earlier in the day. With everything that had happened in the last couple hours, between Ellior and Selenity, he was really thinking he could stand to work on his little project to take his mind off things. He was somewhat in a hurry, mostly to hide, so he took the steps two at a time. For him and the length of his legs it wasn't a difficult task and made getting upstairs to the guest rooms a lot quicker. He wasn't sure what anyone else was up to, but he could only hope that no one bothered him before he got to his door and that if Celestine was inside, he didn't pay much mind to the mood he was in. He was grateful for the fact that Celestine pretty much left him alone but he almost felt bad for being in the room with an almost perpetual gloomy cloud over his head.

Nanashi had wound up asleep for a while after he had returned to his room, but by this point he had woken up again. He was still feeling a little sluggish, but not tired enough to go back to sleep just yet. As of right now he was laying across his bed staring up at the canopy, although he did glance to the door when he started to hear footsteps in the hallway. His door was only half closed, although he couldn't remember if it was because he had only half closed it or if someone had peeked in on him and didn't want to risk waking him by closing it, but either way...it was open enough for him to see into the hallway. He blinked and sat up a little when he saw Kyran through the crack and tilted his head slightly. "...Kyran?" He didn't bother to really get up. He couldn't see well but considering the way Kyran had been acting lately, he doubted that he really wanted anything to do with him right now. He sighed softly before he dropped his head and leaned forward a little. He really wished that there was something he could do to make Kyran feel better, but he knew that there really wasn't anything that he could do about this. He couldn't help the situation, and he didn't know how to make heartbreak go away.

Celestine had retreated back to his room as well, along with half of the dogs and Kyiri. At the time being he was sitting on the middle of his bed with his back resting against the headboard. Of course, considering Kyiri's presence in the room, the door was closed. Kyiri was sitting perched on top of Celestine's knees in her kitten form listening attentively as he played a song on his pipe. She apparently enjoyed listening to him, and he enjoyed playing, so that worked out fairly well. He still couldn't say that he really liked it here. It was gorgeous, but it was still too crowded and he didn't like cooping himself in a room to get away from everyone for a while. He had invited Esen and Nobu onto the bed with him, since he doubted anyone would really care so long as they didn't tear anything up. After hearing what Zale had done to the girls' room he thought some hairs on the bed were the least of their worries. Besides...Kyiri was going to shed anyway, and he was still occasionally losing a few feathers, so any way you looked at it his bed wasn't going to fair too well.

Kyran really had been hoping that he would make it to his room without being bothered and of course if Celestine was in the room, well, the kid usually left well enough alone. He’d been having rotten luck so far today so he supposed he shouldn’t have been surprised when he heard his name called. He paused almost mid-step and started to let out a heavy sigh but held it in. It was just Nanashi… and the world didn’t revolve around him and his breaking heart. He had been at least a little curious as to how Nanashi was feeling. He hadn’t seen him since the previous night so he wasn’t entirely up to date on how he was feeling. He slipped on a happier looking expression and turned towards Nanashi’s partly open door. He knew Nanashi would most likely be concerned with how he was feeling too, but he hoped that putting on a happier face and acting like it was okay was going to keep some of the concern at bay. He paused at the door long enough to slide it open so that he could pop his head in. “Hey, how are you feeling?” He asked in as close to a normal voice as he could muster. “You don’t need anything, do you?”

Nanashi raised his head again when he heard Kyran's voice and his ears perked up a little. He looked back at him with genuine surprise on his face. He had said Kyran's name, but he hadn't thought his voice had been loud enough to carry into the hallway...or he had assumed that Kyran would pretend he hadn't heard and continue on his way. He was happy that Kyran had decided to stop for him, even if he wasn't in the mood for it. That at least told him that he must be of some importance still. Even though it brightened his eyes to see Kyran, he still didn't really smile at him. "...I'm feeling better," he told him honestly, although he knew that answer was kind of vague. He was still tired, and occasionally dizzy, but he would rather just leave what was still bothering him up to the imagination. He shook his head slowly when Kyran asked him if he needed anything. "No...I'm fine, thank you," he responded in that same quiet tone. He hesitated for a few moments before adding. "...Would you like to come in?" LaRae had obviously left him to rest at some point, so the room was pretty much empty aside from him. In all honestly, he didn't really like having the room all to himself. Surprisingly enough, Nanashi liked to be around people...or well, at least people who didn't mind having him around. He did still try to avoid crowds and cities, but he had no desire to be away from what few friends he had for too long. Then again, he was of course still worried about Kyran. He understood Kyran's feelings a little better than Kyran knew, given what he had learned about LaRae's situation. After all...just as Selenity was now set to be engaged to Ellior, LaRae practically had 'property of Renzo' stamped on her forehead. Nanashi really did try not to let it get to him much, mostly because he had already resigned himself long before hand tot he fact that he was never going to have a mate of any kind. He had gotten his hopes up, but they had been stomped on quickly. He still cared of LaRae, naturally, but he knew that once this trip was over he couldn't be with her anymore. He didn't know how it could work. He shook his head a little, trying to shake those thoughts from his mind again, since he didn't really need to join Kyran in his dreary mood. "...What about you?" he asked him finally. "...Are you alright? ...We missed you today...." He would have just said 'I' had he not been sure that he was not the only one to notice Kyran's absence. Selenity had definitely noticed, and he was pretty sure the others had as well.

Kyran smiled a little at Nanashi’s vague answer to his question. Even if it wasn’t a specific answer, he was still glad to hear that he was at least feeling better. Whatever ‘better’ may be, that is. Nanashi didn’t look as bad off as he had in the past, so that was a plus. Though he supposed being where they were you weren’t bound to feel bad for too long. He gave a slight nod of his head when Nanashi answered that he didn’t need anything. He was kind of hoping to end the conversation there, maybe sneak away and continue back to his room. That idea quickly fled as soon as he was asked if he wanted to come in. He had no reason to really say no and even if he did he was sure that Nanashi wouldn’t hold it against him. He sighed softly, nearly inaudibly and slipped into the room the rest of the way, gently shutting the door behind him. He knew he couldn’t completely avoid everyone forever and he might as well start trying to get back into the swing of things seeing as he was going to try and not let the whole engagement get to him. Ellior was a good guy… and he’d be acceptable to the light clan. Hell, the guy was adored already and he was just an actor. He and Selenity would likely make the best possible pair in the eyes of the public. A beloved Princess and an adored actor… He shook the thoughts away and looked to Nanashi when he asked about him, if he was alright. “Yeah, I’m fine.” He answered automatically. He gave a weak smile before speaking again. “Sorry about not being around today, I spent the majority of the day down at the embassy checking in and doing some work for them. “So, were you out of bed a lot today?” He asked in an attempt to steer the conversation away from talking about himself.

Nanashi was again almost a little surprised when Kyran did slip into the room with him. He wasn't sure why, but he got the feeling that Kyran really just wanted to be alone right now. Even with his headband on it wasn't hard for him gauge Kyran's mood. He couldn't read his thoughts, but he thought that he was probably wasn't far from the mark in thinking that the guy was tired of pretending that everything was just fine. He wasn't sure why Kyran insisted on putting on a happy face for him, but he didn't bother to call him on it. He shook his head a little when Kyran apologized for now being around today. "Mmm...it's fine," he responded quietly. He tilted his head a little curiously when he told him that he had been at the embassy most of the day. "...You left really early," he observed quietly. He blinked when Kyran suddenly tried to steer the conversation away from himself and back to him and then sighed quietly. Well, he could see how this was going to go. Nanashi wasn't usually one to talk much about himself and how he was feeling, so it was awkward repeatedly having the conversation driven back to how he was and what he had been doing. "...A little," he responded simply. "...I went outside for a little while. S--I mean princess Sri wanted me to play with her, so...she taught me how to play tag and we played with LaRae and...Nero...for a while...." He sighed again almost inaudibly, leaving out the fact that he collapsed in the middle of the game. "...That was about all."

He averted his eyes entirely for a few moments before he looked back to Kyran again and slowly got to his feet. He still couldn't stand up very fast without feeling lightheaded, and he didn't want to make Kyran worry by staggering or anything, so he just took it very slowly. He hadn't called Kyran in here to talk about himself...he wanted to know how he was doing. Once he was up he started to walk over to where Kyran had chosen to stand and went to place his hand lightly on his shoulder. He didn't bother to say anything, mostly since he was sure that whatever he said he would just be told that he didn't need to be worrying about him. Wordlessly, he looked up at him for a moment, and he looked as if Kyran had just stood and told him exactly how lousy he was feeling, even though he hadn't said a word. He stepped a little closer and shifted to rest his head against Kyran's shoulder for a moment before he finally wrapped his arm around him and nuzzled his shoulder affectionately. "...Thank you for stopping," he told him quietly. He stayed where he was for a moment before he stepped back enough to look up at Kyran again. Of course there was worry in his eyes that went unspoken, but he doubted that Kyran would want to talk about this...at least not with him. Still, he had to at least try. "...Did...something happen?" he asked finally, and then added in a quieter voice. "...You look like you're trying too hard to smile." Fake smiles were kind of Nanashi's specialty, so it wasn't too hard for him to spot one on someone else, or at least tell when they were strained.

Kyran shrugged lightly when Nanashi commented that he had left really early. He was very much aware of that and had done so mostly so that he didn’t feel like he had to sit in on breakfast or see Selenity so soon after the news. He felt like even just seeing her tonight was almost too soon. He hadn’t really been prepared for it, but it had happened anyway. He didn’t really have anything to say to his having left so early so he just let that comment end where it did. He listened when Nanashi started to tell him about playing tag with the little Princess and looked genuinely amused for a moment when he had said that Nero played as well. That, well, it had to have been a sight to see. After Nanashi had finished he just shook his head a little, mostly in disbelief that Nero actually played tag with anyone and left them in one piece. He looked over at Nanashi and watched him as he got to his feet. Of course he noticed that Nanashi took it slow standing up but he wasn’t sure if it was because he wasn’t feeling great or maybe if it was just because he was sore or something from laying around. He continued to keep an eye on Nanashi as he came over to him though he wound up averting his eyes once he saw the way that he was looking at him. It was almost too much to see that in Nanashi’s eyes. It was almost like he’d spilled everything to the guy when he hadn’t. He wasn’t sure which was worse… the fact that he hadn’t said a word to the guy and he knew or if he had actually told him about everything. He was a little stiff at first when Nanashi touched him but he loosened up easily enough and finally glanced back to him when he thanked him for stopping. “….You’re welcome…” He commented absently. He really was worried about Nanashi just as much, if not more than Nanashi was worried about him. He just kind of stared at Nanashi for a moment after he had stepped back and asked him if something had happened. He was fully prepared to say that nothing had happened; at least until Nanashi said that he looked like he was trying too hard to smile. His lips twitched a little and then he sighed heavily. “…Why do I always run into people who can read me so well…” He complained under his breath as he smacked his palm to his forehead. Honestly… first Ellior… and now Nanashi.

He was silent for a few moments and lowered his hand in the process of standing there mulling over his terrible luck today. He finally shook his head a little and looked over at Nanashi, having given up a little on trying to hide the hurt from his eyes. “….This is the second time today …that I’ve run into someone who noticed so easily.” He sighed again quietly. “I know I’m pretty good at keeping a straight face and hiding things… but first it’s Ellior… and then you… and I’m sure Selenity saw it too, hell, she probably heard it in my voice…” He said with an inaudible groan. He was almost more upset at showing so much emotion than he was at the actual situation, but not quite. He wasn’t sure anything was worse than this situation. At least nothing he had experienced yet.

Nanashi noticed the way that Kyran averted his gaze and stiffened when he got close to him. He had a feeling that Kyran wasn't really prepared to talk much about this...but he still couldn't help feeling bad for him. He wanted to help him, even if there really wasn't much of anything that he could do. He smiled very weakly when Kyran told him that he was welcome. He blinked when Kyran head-palmed himself and asked why he always ran into people who could read him so well. He tilted his head slight and just looked at Kyran silently while he stood there. "I...I'm sorry...," he replied quietly to what he had said before about running into people who could read him so well. He continued to look at Kyran sympathetically when he let the mask slip away a little and told him that this was the second time today that he had run into someone who had noticed easily, although he was a bit surprise to hear that the first was Ellior. He let Kyran finish and then shifted to place his hand on his shoulders again gently. "I...don't need to read your face," he told him quietly as he lowered his eyes. "...It's harder to fool people who are good at fooling others," he said quietly.

He raised his eyes back to Kyran's face again and let his ears fall back slightly as he stared up at him with those same sympathetic eyes. He really didn't need to read Kyran's expression to know how much he must be hurting. He tried his best not to let his own situation with LaRae bother him, and even harder not to let anyone know when it was bothering him. He could usually force it from his mind except for when Renzo decided to make an appearance to screw around with LaRae. He lowered his gaze again and stepped closer, this time wrapping both arms around him tightly while he leaned his head over his shoulder. He had to tip-toe just a little to manage that, but he didn't really care. He squeezed Kyran tightly and didn't offer to let go anytime soon. "I know...," he whispered quietly, "...It makes your chest hurt...doesn't it?" He raised his head for a moment and turned his eyes toward Kyran again before he let them close and hug his head back over his shoulder, squeezing him again for a few seconds. "I don't...know what I should do," he admitted to him quietly. "...I'm not...used to this...but...." He nuzzled his head gently against Kyran's shoulder again and tightened his grip again. "...I'm here," he told him quietly, "...it's alright.... You don't have to pretend right now.... I won't tell anyone. ...Okay?" He hoped that he was doing this right and wasn't doing something really awkward. He didn't know how he was supposed to react, he just knew that he had wished on some occasions that someone would tell him something along those lines. He didn't know if it was what Kyran needed to hear...but he didn't know what else to say.

Kyran couldn’t exactly disagree with Nanashi’s statement that it was harder to fool people who were good at fooling others. Ellior was an actor so of course he was good at fooling others… then Nanashi… well… he just had to be good at fooling people or else he could wind up getting himself into a lot of trouble sometimes. He stiffened just a little at first when Nanashi hugged him like he did, but again he relaxed quickly enough. He didn’t have any issues with Nanashi touching him or anything like that… but he wasn’t entirely prepared to be comforted right now. He eased into the hug he was being given and eventually lifted his arms to return the hug a little once Nanashi started talking and telling him he knew and asked that it made his heart hurt, didn’t it. Of course it did… his heart felt like it was in pieces inside of him and there wasn’t anything that he could do about it. He didn’t have much of anything to say, partially because he was somewhat speechless because here he was being hugged by Nanashi and being told that it was alright. Usually it was the other way around… This was just so strange, but kind of nice. He leaned his head against Nanashi’s and let out a soft but heavy sigh when he was told that he didn’t have to pretend right now. In doing so he just let it all go and let exactly how broken apart he felt show on his face. He wasn’t going to cry or anything… but it was obvious that he felt terrible. He still wasn’t entirely sure that he wanted to speak to Nanashi about it, even if he said he wouldn’t tell… but at least he wasn’t trying to hide it right now. Then of course… where did you even begin to explain everything? He gave another sigh and finally just uttered the only thing that came to mind. “…I told her to give him a chance…”

Nanashi was a little worried when he felt Kyran tense, but he relaxed after Kyran finally gave in and put his arms around him in return. At least that way he didn't feel so much like he was invading. Offering up hugs was definitely being bold for Nanashi, although he seemed perfectly comfortable with the idea when it came to Kyran and LaRae. He was still hesitant around everyone else. He glanced over toward Kyran with his eyes when he felt the weight of his head resting against his own and smiled weakly. He leaned his head against Kyran's a little more and then lightly rubbed his hand up and down the upper portion of his wing, since it was preventing him from getting to his back. He didn't breathe another word after Kyran sighed, he just stood there rubbing his back as if he thought he would eventually rub all of his problems away if he kept at it long enough. Once Kyran did finally speak his hand stopped abruptly in mid-rub and he raised his head off of his shoulder a little, obviously a bit surprised. He stood there for a moment in a stunned silence before he squeezed Kyran again and then pulled back just enough that he could look up into his face. He stared deep into his eyes for a few moments before raising his hand to let it rest lightly against Kyran's cheek. "...It's going to be alright," he told him softly. "...Kyran...never forget...that she loves you," he reminded him quietly. "...Ellior...will take good care of her...but she will always love you. ...At least he is kind...so even if you can't be together...you know she will be well treated." That was more than he could say really. He continued to look up at him for a few moments before he lowered his head and leaned it against Kyran again, putting his arms back around him tightly. "...I'm sorry..." he whispered so quietly that he could barely hear his own voice.

Kyran hated having admitted that to someone else. Part of him felt like he was insane for telling her to give Ellior a chance. Sure Ellior was a good guy, but she was the woman that he loved. Seriously… what was he thinking? He brushed that aside with some effort and left it off in the corner of his mind. He didn’t need to go regretting his decision already. He just kind of stood there quietly while Nanashi spoke, not offering to really look at him either. He wasn’t purposely avoiding eye contact so much as he just wasn’t paying attention to where his eyes were looking. He gave a slight nod of his head after a moment. “…I know…” He responded quietly. Ellior really was a good guy and he was nice. The only downside to the guy was his mother and that couldn’t be helped. He sighed a little heavily and shut his eyes. “…Ellior knows…” He said quietly. “…So …I kind of wish …that she didn’t feel the way she does…” He paused. “…Her loving me …it’s going to be a …burden on their relationship… and it will eat at Ellior… and just add strain…” He uttered quietly. He may not have wanted Selenity to marry Ellior… but with his feelings off of the table all that was left were hers and Ellior’s… and if she still loved him the way she did it was only going to be a problem for her and Ellior. He kind of wished that there was a way to fix that… but at the same time he was glad. Part of him just didn’t want another man to be in her heart and if he was already there, there wasn’t any way for someone else to fit in. He sighed once again and cracked his eyes open a little. “…This …is such …a mess…” He muttered quietly.
