Kyran ignored the way Nanashi startled... that was kind of normal, sadly. He kept his arm around Nanashi's shoulder and waited to see if he would talk. He had kind of hoped that he would but understood that Nanashi didn't always talk even after he was given permission to do so. He he had just sat there and waited, about ready to write it off and say that Nanashi wasn't going to respond but when he finally did he turned all of his attention down to him. Of course he noticed the way that Nanashi refused to look at him, and again wasn't really surprised by that. He listened quietly without uttering a word while Nanashi explained about his nightmares. He felt bad for Nanashi... he had had a lot of bad things to happen to him and at least one of those things could have been avoided if they hadn't been thrown so askew by that other dragon half. If it had been just another hunter attack then someone probably could've taken care of the guy that Nanashi had killed... then that wouldn't have been stuck plaguing his mind and ruining his sleep. He sighed softly after listening to Nanashi and watched him briefly as he pulled away from him and went back to trying to hide himself in his knees. "...I'm sorry that all of that has been bothering you and no one's known." He started quietly. He sat there in silence for a moment or two before he reached his arm over again and put it back around Nanashi, even if he didn't want to be touched. "...I am also sorry that you had to kill that man..." He paused. "...You shouldn't have had to do that, especially if you weren't ready for it...." He told him quietly. He really wished now more than ever that he had been able to keep Nanashi from having to kill that man. Knowing that it had messed with him this much just wasn't right. "...I can't make the nightmares go away, even though I would love to..." He paused. "...But know that every night you wake from them in the safety of a room, or surrounded by people who care about you... that you're fine and it was all just a bad dream." They didn't always have the luxury of a nice room like this and some nights they just slept on the floor in the woods or wherever, so that was why he had added what he had about being surrounded by people who cared about him. "...Eventually the nightmares will stop... I promise." He told him softly as he gave him another little squeeze. "...and if it helps, go ahead and try to go back to sleep. I'll be right here when you wake up again."

Nanashi merely shook his head a little when Kyran apologized that no one had known that this was bothering him. "...It doesn't matter," he responded quietly. He knew that it was his own fault that no one knew. Hadn't offered to say a word about it until now, so he really couldn't blame anyone for not knowing. Nanashi had been thoroughly conditioned in his ways, and it was a little hard to just change the way he thought or the way he reacted to things. Growing up he had never had anyone who really cared what he thought or what was bothering him. He was always left to deal with everything on his own. Even now that there were some who did care, it was hard to break that mindset that these were just things that he would have to work through alone, so he hadn't bothered to say anything about it. He started to raise his head again when he felt Kyran put his arm back around him and slowly glanced over in his general direction. He could already feel his eyes watering a little when Kyran told him that he was sorry that he had had to kill that man. "...It was an accident...," he whispered so quietly that he all but mouthed the words. That was part of what had made it so horrible. If he had gone over with the intention of killing him, he didn't think that he could have possibly felt so guilty. He knew that the man would have killed him, or LaRae given the chance, but he also knew that that man probably had a family somewhere. He hadn't meant to even hurt the man...he had only wanted to prevent him from hurting LaRae, and he just happened to shove him down where his head was embedded onto one of the many crystal formations in this territory. It had been gruesome, and it had been entirely, one hundred percent unintentional on his part. He lowered his gaze again when Kyran told him that he couldn't make the nightmares go away and nodded a little. He had already known that was true even before it was said out loud, although he did finally look up to Kyran again when he told him to know that whenever he woke up from those nightmares he should remember that he was fine and that it was nothing but a bad dream. "...I wish it all had been a dream...," he admitted quietly before he leaned his head to rest against Kyran once again when he felt him giving him another squeeze. He hoped that Kyran's prediction would come true soon. He was growing rather exhausted by the lack of decent sleep and abundance of activity they were usually face with be it a ton of walking or fighting something. He glanced up once more when Kyran invited him to try to go back to sleep now and assured him that he would be right there when he woke up again. He stared at him for a long moment before he finally relented and turned his head to rest against him collar bone once again. "...Thank you," he told him in that same quiet voice as he closed his eyes again. He edged a little closer to Kyran on the bed and unrolled himself just a little. He snuggled right up against Kyran, for the time being seeming rather content being curled up in the crook of his arm. If anywhere was a safe place to be, he knew that was it...and that made it a little easier to close his eyes.

Kyran hadn't seen exactly what had happened when Nanashi had killed that man, he'd only ever heard briefly what had happened. He knew that it had just been an accident, but it had slipped his mind to specify that when he had spoken. Either way you looked at it, accident or not, Nanashi had killed that man... that's all there was to it. He tightened his hold on Nanashi a little when he had said that he wished it had all been a dream. He understood that actually... some things in ones life that haunted you, sometimes you wish they were just dreams. His experience wasn't the least bit related but he wished that the deaths of his parents and his fathers second love were nothing more than just dreams or even his imagination running amok. He rubbed his hand up and down Nanashi's arm just a little, at least until it looked like he had given in and was going to try and make himself somewhat comfortable so that he could attempt getting some more sleep. "....I know it's tough right now ...but it will get easier..." He told him quietly. "....You won't ever forget what happened ...but soon, you'll find a way to keep going without it bothering you so much..." He knew that much was true at least... he'd killed Hunters before among other things and even if it had been intentional at the time, he was still plagued by what he had done. At least in the beginning anyway, when he was a little younger. Now he understood that sadly... it was them or us; the hunters or the dragons. Although, even with that in mind he didn't exactly go out of his way to kill hunters. He pushed the those thoughts from his mind a little as Nanashi got comfortable, or well, more comfortable perhaps. He continued to keep his arm around him and just smiled down at him weakly. He didn't mind doing this for Nanashi, not in the least, it was just kind of sad that these things had been bothering him like this and he hadn't even known. After a few moments he leaned his head back against the headboard and let his eyes wander towards the window, just to stare in that general direction for a bit. He wasn't sure if he'd be going back to sleep or not, but that wasn't as important as getting Nanashi some rest and making him feel safe.

Cyndel 01-12-2011 07:55 PM

Nanashi glanced up to Kyran when told him that things would get easier over time. He already doubted that he would forget these things, but he hoped that Kyran was right and that eventually he would come to terms with them. He lowered his eyes once again and simply tried to nuzzle up against him a little more, finally uncurling his arms from around himself to wrap one around Kyran's middle. He wasn't sure how Kyran understood what he meant, but he didn't question it. He actually didn't know all that much if anything about Kyran's past, although he had noticed when they were at his house that there was no one there but him and his sister. He didn't know where his parents were, they could have been gone on a trip for all he knew, but somehow...he kind of doubted that. "...I hope so," he responded quietly. He practically tried to bury his face against Kyran and shut his eyes again with a quiet sigh. There were a lot of things on his mind that he still hadn't said, mostly because he didn't really know how to say them, and because he didn't want Kyran worrying about him any more than he was now. Nanashi's mind was almost like that of a child in comparison to the other dragons, although that was probably because he had been alive fewer years than any of them. He was still had an innocent mind and a childish yearning to be accepted and cared for the way he never really had when he was younger...or at least not in the years that he could still remember. It bothered him to think that he may have to hurt things, or that things were going to try to hurt him. He didn't even fear death (so long as it was quick) as much as he feared pain. At last, he managed to quiet his thoughts and tried to relax again, every now and then shifting a little to try to find a more comfortable position. It took him nearly an hour but he did finally manage to drift off to sleep again. This time, he managed to stay that way for the remainder of the night, and could probably stay that way until well into the afternoon if no one woke him, although if Kyran tried to get out of bed he was bound to wake up since Kyran was the only thing holding him up right now.

[[Time skippy-O-doom]]
The group had decided that it was probably best not to go running off in search of the light clans relic while Nanashi still wasn't feeling quite up to par. With that in mind they stayed at the palace for a few days longer to make sure that Nanashi was feeling up to the task ahead of them. Kyran had decided on his own to start rooming with Nanashi for those few days though he left Nobu in with Celestine, along with his weapons. He still considered the other room to be the one he was using, but he was staying with Nanashi for two reasons. One of them being that it was easier to sit with him and work on the present for Selenity and no one really bothered Nanashi so no one bothered him. Then the other reason was because of the trouble Nanashi had been having trying to sleep. He slept in the same bed with Nanashi as much as Nanashi would let him, hoping that that helped him sleep better. While he was spending so much time with Nanashi he was trying to talk to him as much as he could about what had been bothering him so that maybe Nanashi would start to feel better a little sooner. He also helped Nanashi with what he could if he had decided that he did want to make something for Selenity for her birthday. Other than that he didn't do a whole lot and tried not to venture out too much. If and when he did run into Selenity he had tried to act as if nothing was wrong, which wasn't too terribly hard to do... well, until they were apart and then he'd feel like crap. Before any of them had really known it they had come upon the day of Selenity's birthday party, if such simple words were even good enough for what was being thrown in her honor. Either way though, it had arrived and thankfully Kyran had had enough time to finish his present.

Cyndel 01-14-2011 02:41 AM

In the days that passed, everyone was more or less given a free run of the palace and surrounding areas, except of course for the more restricted areas such as Selenity and the King's personal chambers, although Selenity was more than willing to invite the girls up to her room and Sri was still having a ball dragging Nero all over creation. She seemed to have grown quite attached to him, and tended to jump down the throat of anyone who so much as looked at him funny. The same could be said for Nanashi whenever he decided to leave his room. For the most part he had been staying upstairs out of sight and out of the way as much as possible. He was of course getting better day by day, especially since one of the healers continued to bring him special drinks to help his body regenerate his blood faster. Naturally, he didn't mind having Kyran hold up in his room at all. He enjoyed his company, and he didn't mind letting him hide out in there to work on his gift. He also didn't complain about sharing a bed with him since he did seem to sleep a lot more soundly when he had someone close enough to him that he could actually feel their presence rather than simply having them in the room with him. Whenever Kyran decided to lay down in the bed with him by morning he usually wound up with Nanashi snuggled right up against his side sound asleep.

Nanashi didn't seem too keen to talk about the things that were eating at him, even when Kyran brought it up again, but he did relent a little and get a little more specific. He revealed eventually that he was worried that what had happened to him at the water territory may happen to him again. He knew that Hikari had said that she read about that happening and that it only happened on certain nights...and that what had happened to him would likely only happen at on a similar night several years down the road, but he still wasn't sure. There was always the possibility that she was wrong, and he really didn't want to go through that again. After all, if it hadn't been for her and Kyran he wouldn't even have survived it that time. That only led into him mentioning his fear that if things kept going the way that they were he wasn't even going to live long enough to see if Hikari was right or not. He knew that he was by far the weakest and most vulnerable member of the party. He couldn't fight, he wasn't as strong as his pure blooded dragon companions, he couldn't use magic, and after that last attack he didn't even have any weapons to defend himself with. He mentioned being afraid that he was going to get hurt again before it was over like he had before, or that someone else would get hurt because of him and he was honestly worried about slowing them all down. After all, they were all only staying here longer because of him.
At least after a day of mulling it over, he did ask Kyran to come with him so he could find some things to work with and make an attempt at coming up with something for Selenity. They went down to the woods and searched around for a tree stump, or something of that nature, just something that would give him a solid block of dry wood to work with. Once they had managed to salvage what he could use he needed a some type of small knife. While Kyran worked on his necklace, Nanashi took to trying to whittle down the wood they had found into something that might be presentable. He was a little pressed for time, but he still tried his best to make what he was working on look as nice as possible, so he worked on it pretty diligently. When it was finished he had managed to carve the white wood down into the semblance of a small white lop-eared rabbit which was small enough to fit into the palm of a person's hand. He tried to give it some details, such as fur, but that was mostly to cover up how uneven it was. He had nothing to smooth it down with so he had to do the best that he could with the knife alone, so the thing wasn't even finished until the day of Selenity's 'party'.

It was a few hours after lunch and people were already bustling around getting things ready for the evening. The maids were busy cleaning and trying to make the place even more spotless. The cooks were extremely busy and had been thus all day. There were very few servants around to spare, especially since there was still a small number refusing to come to the palace so long as they were housing dark dragons, so the ones who did value their jobs were exceptionally busy. Soon enough there were maids coming to round up the gusts to make sure that everyone was able to get ready in a timely manner. Nanashi and Kyran were asked to get cleaned up and then taken down to a dressing room to find themselves a dress suit to wear, and the same was said for Kanone and the girls.
Knowing that this event was coming up, Firra had taken her spare time and opted to make Nero something more suited to his own tastes to wear for the night. He was going to be expected to be there and there was no way he would be allowed to go in his army-style garb. Since she had been the one to try to save his clothes when he had been coated in paint, she had a good idea of his size and had found some material to use. Naturally, given her own preferences, she tended to make her own clothes anyway, so it wasn't very hard for her to have something made for him in a few days time. She simply dyed a pair of the usual dress pants a rich shade of black, and then did the same with the material she intended to use for the coat. She made the coat a bit differently than they would have normally been made around here. It was still fairly long, but it was only long enough in the front that it would come down into two points at Nero's thighs, and in the back it came down roughly a little past the knee in two pointed tails. The sleeves, rather than the loose flowing ones that were attached to most clothes were comfortably right fitted around the arms, or should be. The coat buttoned up the front with silver, decorative buttons, and trimmed around the edge of the sleeves with silver which sparkled just a little in the light. She managed to attach a couple of small silver chains to the front which would lace across to the chest and attach to a deep blue broach which was sticking to the shoulder. There were tiny matching pins on the outer side of the bottom of each sleeve at the cuffs to accent the thing, as well as on each shoulder. All in all, the suit was very plain in comparison to the last one he had been stuffed into, lacking all of the lacing and a grand majority of the gaudy pins and decorations that adorned the mens' clothing. She had picked out deep blue since that seemed the most appropriate with his eye color, at least as far as she could remember. Either way, that was about as plain as she dared make it since she didn't want him getting disapproving looks for being under-dressed as well as having black scales.

The girls didn't entirely put up much of a fuss about having to get dressed for the party and at least two of them didn't mind that they had to wear semi-elaborate dresses. Aamori and Reyes were relatively excited about getting to pick out pretty dresses. There was such a selection they both just couldn't help being excited about it. It probably wouldn't have taken the two very long to pick out a dress each and get dressed, except that there were so many to choose from and they were having issues deciding on what to wear. This was going to be a once in a life time thing as far as either of them were concerned. It wasn't everyday that you got to pick out a pretty dress that you didn't have to pay for, just to wear to a Princesses birthday party. After much deliberation they both managed to pick something out. Aamori wound up with a dress almost the color of her hair and Reyes went with a slightly darker shade of silver. Reyes would have preferred a darker, nearly black color partially because it'd help hide his somewhat lack of feminine curves but that was what a corset was for right? Tie that sucker just tight enough and you'd look like you had some curves.[/color]

LaRae was the only problem of course as far as the dresses went. She didn't want to wear a dress. She'd already been forced to wear two dresses this trip and she didn't want to wear another. She would have much rather preferred to wear a man's suit or something than go in a dress and she made sure that whatever servants were helping out knew that. She also hated the embarrassment of being a girl and not knowing how to get into a dress. She didn't like dresses and dressing up like Aamori and Reyes did. She wanted nothing to do with this dressing room and couldn't really seem to escape it. She tried pinning herself against a wall and acting like she wasn't there but... yeah... that didn't really work. Before she knew it she was being forced to look at dresses. She'd held off so long that Aamori and Reyes had already gotten dressed and were pulling things out to show her and see if she approved. She didn't of course... which lead to Aamori finally just picking something out for her and getting a servant to help her get LaRae into it. The dress was almost a mix between copper and brown and had a sheen to it. It was a halter dress and if not for the aid from Aamori and the servant LaRae wouldn't have really figured out what to do with that strap that went around the neck. As it was she kinda felt like a doll... she really, really despised dresses. The only saving grace was that this dress was long enough on her that she could kick off the heels she'd been given as soon as a servant wasn't looking and walk around on her toes like she did in the last dress that she wore here.

The maids had already taken Kyran and Nanashi downstairs and managed to snag Kanone on the way, but no one had bothered going to Nero's room just yet. Firra was finally finding time to get upstairs to him, and already had his clothes draped over her arm as she went. As soon as she reached the door to his room she knocked firmly, obviously intent on getting in even if he was asleep. It was high time for him to get ready to go, although the others had already been downstairs well before him. The males were probably already able to be dressed and ready to go for the most part. After all, as elaborate as their clothes were, most of them didn't really have the hair or makeup problems that the girls had to deal with, although many of the men here even decorated their faces a little, albeit not as extravagantly as the girls. "Nero...," she called through the door after a moment, "I know you're in there.... It's time to get changed. I've brought your clothes for the night. I need to know if they need any adjustments."

Celestine was one of the last ones that they managed to find, although that was mostly because he had gone outside and taken to getting lost in the maze for a while. It was only when he found his way back out that a bustling maid caught him and told him that it was time to get dressed. She led him down to the dressing room and told him to pick something out. After looking around and realizing that he only had dresses to choose from he rolled his eyes a little, realizing that this maid had mistaken him for a girl. He told the maid that he had no intention of wearing a dress and asked her to take him to the men's clothing room, and was rather taken aback when the maid told him that he wasn't going in a suit. He tried to argue that he was a boy, but the maid didn't buy it. She had already had to deal with LaRae earlier today and was growing rather tired of fighting with people over getting dressed up presentably. After a good long argument the maid finally just grabbed his wrist, picked out a dress and then dragged him to the woman's bathroom. She was more or less ready to strip the stubborn wind dragon down herself and scrub 'her' but Celestine freaked out on her and got her to leave him alone long enough to shower. He got undressed and got into one of the showers at the back since he didn't want any girls seeing him should one happen to come in. Unfortunately, that only led to the maid sneaking back in and stealing his clothes, leaving him with no option other than the dress and some clean feminine undergarments to get into.

Naturally, Celestine was not a very happy camper once he got himself dried off and ready to change. Thankfully, the dress was exceptionally confusing to him when it came to putting it on, but he wasn't thrilled about getting into regardless of whether it was easy. The dress was several different shades of green ranging from deep emerald around the top and to a paler grass green, and finally down to a pale, almost white shade of jade. The emerald top was cossetted in the back, which made it nearly impossible to get on correctly on his own. He managed to get into the thing, for the most part, though it was so loose on him that he had to hold it up as he made his way out to yell at the maid again. Unfortunately, he didn't really get too far. The woman turned him around and pulled the laces as tight as they would go, crushing in on his already thin sides a little and trying the dress in place. After getting a good look at her captive's wings, however, she decided that they had a lot more work to do. Celestine's feathers had yet to grow back, so she decided that they were going to have to do something about that before they got around to doing her hair and makeup. This one was just as pretty as the water dragon, and someone else had already claimed her to do her hair and makeup, so she intended to make sure that this one came out looking good, even if the girl was ready to kill her already. She reached down near the bottom of the dress were several shimmering, elastic rings were dangling at the end of the chiffon fabric and shoved one over his hand and up to his elbow and the other over the same wrist while only one went on his right wrist. After she was finished getting him in the dress properly, she grabbed his wrist again and started to drag him down the hallway so that they could do something about his wings.

Nero had silently watched when Kanone got wrangled to change his clothes for the upcoming party. He hadn't minded one bit that it was only Kanone who had been taken from the room and actually took some comfort in the idea that he might not have to leave the room tonight. He didn't really have any desire to spend the night around a bunch of other dragons from different clans for Selenity's birthday. He already stuck out like a sore thumb and really didn't need to be a looming shadow at such a function. People would just stare or mutter under their breath and honestly... he didn't want any part of it. He hadn't wanted Reyes to go anywhere near that party either but well... who could honestly keep Reyes from the chance to wear a dress? He knew his cousin well enough to know he'd be completely decked out like any young teenage girl, given half a chance. He had been sitting on the bed, or perhaps relaxing was more accurate. The lights had been out of course and he had been being quiet so he heard the knock loud an clear. He just kind of stared at the door for a few moments after the knock. He continued to remain quiet and half hoped whoever it was would just go away. Or well... he supposed worst case scenario he could just scare whoever it was away by actually answering the door and just looming over them. He was tempted, so very tempted by that idea... though it shattered as soon as he heard the voice that accompanied that knock. It just had to be that maid. She was the only one in the castle aside from Selenity and Sri who could stand to be around him, let alone talk to him. He knew he couldn't just scare this maid away... no... she was different. He sighed heavily and started to shift himself off of the bed. He didn't want to answer the door but he somehow doubted that she would just go away... especially if she brought clothes for him. More... gaudy... friggen... clothes... He less than enthusiastically opened the door and stared down at her for a moment before reaching up to brush some of his hair from his eyes. "...and here I thought I might be lucky enough to get by with not going." He commented after a moment and then stepped to the side slightly in case she planned on coming inside. He had no real idea where she'd want to wait for him to get dressed. The room had one of those changing screens so he supposed she could either wait out in the hall or in the room, whichever she wanted. Although knowing the gaudiness of this clan's clothing he wouldn't be surprised if he needed help with buttons or something.

LaRae had thought that the torture would stop at getting her into a dress and heels... but oh no, she was so wrong. After getting forced into a dress she, Aamori and Reyes got to go have their hair and makeup done. Of course she put up another fight. She didn't want anything done to her hair and she certainly didn't want to wear any makeup. She didn't want her hair fussed with because of her horns. She didn't want her stumps to show and she also wanted the length in the back so that her marking didn't show either. Unfortunately it didn't look like the maid who was fussing with her understood what the marking was or that she was embarrassed by her lack of horns. Instead the maid just kind of ignored her and went about her business. She supposed that wasn't too surprising since she had been putting up nothing but fights about all of this. By the time that the maid was finished with her her hair was half up and half down. The front was parted and stuck in place to the point that her stumps where visible and she couldn't move her hair to hide them without fucking up the whole thing. The rest of her hair was pulled tightly towards the back and curled a little before being positioned so that it fell over one shoulder which left her back exposed completely since the dress didn't even manage to cover the marking. She tried pushing the slightly curled mass back over her shoulder so that it covered her back but with where the tail of her hair was placed it was deadly uncomfortable and she had to pull it back so that it rested over the one shoulder. She hadn't entirely fought the maid when it came to the makeup... although the elaborateness and the gaudy of it all nearly killed her. What ever happened to just simple? She hated sitting still for the makeup but she did, even if she didn't want to. She let the maid paint her up putting most of the focus around her eyes. She wasn't sure what the woman was doing... at least not until she was done and she got to look in the mirror and saw golden brown, almost bronzed leaves under and along the side of her eyes. It wasn't a mass of leaves, just one or two delicately painted on. She couldn't help but stare at the leaves in hear awe, as well as take in the eyeshadow and the rest of the makeup. She may not have liked makeup but she couldn't deny that it looked good, neat even.

Aamori of course, like Reyes, didn't put up a single fight when it came time for hair and makeup. The two of them were rather excited about getting to sit still and have a couple maids fix them up. Aamori was a little more used to the gesture, but she'd never been dolled up in the light territory before, so this was a new experience. The maid working on her fought with her hair just a little while she worked around her horns. Her hair wound up in a rather long french braid with little blue pearls weaved in here and there that ran along the same color as her dress. Her eyes were done with various shades of blue eyeshadow and had little blue gems that almost looked like drops of water decorating around her eyes. They varied in size and were carefully and artfully placed below her eyes and above them.

Reyes easily ignored any discomfort the maid working on him may have felt. He was too excited about all of this and he hoped that kinda rubbed off and made the maid feel a little less like she just wanted to bolt since she was stuck with him. He knew he made the maids uncomfortable and he couldn't help that so he tried to remain as nice as possible when dealing with them. He wound up with his hair done up almost completely. All of his hair was piled on top of his head in an artful manor, leaving a small portion to dangle just in front of his ear, almost like not all of his hair had managed to make it on top of his head. His bangs were brushed to the side and left alone. He also had relatively simple make up done as well. He got a dusting of eyeshadow and a little bit of scroll work that came out at the ends of his eyes, traveling just a smidgen up to his temple and down to his cheek. The detail was done on both eyes and after making sure his eye lashes stood out he was done. The makeup wasn't nearly as detailed as LaRae's or Aamori's but he didn't complain. If he'd been any other clan of dragon he'd have gotten much better attention but he was happy enough that he had something done. Plus, he still thought it looked pretty. It was all much better than he could've done and he was just ecstatic that he was getting to wear the dress that he was in.

Cyndel 01-15-2011 12:03 PM

Firra waited almost a little impatiently for Nero to open the door. She knew that he was inside, mostly because that was where he could always be found if Sri hadn't kidnapped him, and Sri was busy getting all dolled up as well. Once he opened the door she simply looked up at him with that usual rather expressionless look on her round, ringlet framed face. As usual, she didn't seem intimidated by him, even with the look that he was giving her. "...Hardly," she responded simply. "You know that if you didn't come, Sri would just be up here looking for you." She blinked once he had stepped aside and stood there for a moment before stepping in a little uncertainly since it seemed that he was inviting her inside. Once she was through the door she turned to him and held out the stack of folded clothes. The jacket was folded on top of the stack with the white undershirt folded beneath it and then the pants were folded at the bottom. A black bow tie was laying on top with yet another of the small deep blue pings to go in the center once it was tied, if he chose to use it, that was. "Here," she said simply as she tried to hand the clothes off to him. "See if they fit...," she said rather dully, "I had to guess at the measurements. If it's too small you'll just have to wear white." She had tried to, if anything, make sure that it would be a little too big rather than too small, but it would probably fit him well enough that she wouldn't have to mess with it in order for it to look alright.

Celestine, really didn't get a whole lot of say in what happened next, although the first part, he really didn't mind. Given that his feathers had all fallen out by now, he wasn't going to complain a bit about having them regrown at an unnatural pace. Apparently, they had developed ways of expediting the growth of things such as hair, nails, and apparently feathers, so after being forced to sit still and allow them to mess around with his naked wings for a while, he had started to develop new feathers, which, by the time the party actually started, should have already matured into the long, glossy feathers that he always had after molting off the old ones. Once that was taking care of he was dragged straight back to another room where the maid could work with his makeup and hair. He tried several times to decline all of this, but unfortunately, the maid wasn't listening to him any better than the one that LaRae had been saddled with. She sat him down and combed his hair thoroughly, making sure to get all of the tangles out of it, and then started styling. With his long, head full of hair, that alone took forever, and by the time she was done the top layers of his hair had been piled and twisted on top of his head with stray ends handing here and there, curling in spirals as they hung down his back. She had started to curl all of his hair like that, but after realizing that he had about as much hair, if not more than the princess, she opted to leave most of the lower layers straight and only curled it here and there where it would spiral down over the straighter strands. She also curled his bangs a little as well as the shorter hair that always tended to hang over his shoulders. As if that wasn't humiliating enough, once she was finished styling it, she started to decorate it with tiny white flowers and sparking gems. After that, it was on to the makeup, and by this point, he had already suffered so much humiliation that he more or less threw up his hands in surrender. She'd already tricked him into a dress and done his hair up like a woman...why not go the final ten yards and get painted up as well? He sat still, grudgingly, while she worked with his face, and the process seemed to take forever. Once it was done, however, he realized that his eyelids had both been painted emerald green, up to his eyebrow, which faded out as it stretched closer to his hairline. At the edge of his right eye she had pained in what appeared to be flowers which seemed to simply fade into his skin, and from the corner of the same eye trailed several thin blue lines spiraling and overlapping artfully until they disappeared below his new curls. Some of them were painted on in luminescent silver paint, which she had applied in tiny dots to form spirals rather than a single solid line. All in all, it was very beautifully done, although he was too ashamed to even look in a mirror to see how he looked. By the time he had been all made up, it was near time for the ball to start, and the made still had to go fetch him some heels to go with the dress. Unlike, LaRae, the tail end of Celestine's dress was mostly flowing chiffon, and thus, mostly see through, so he couldn't get away with going bare foot.

Nero's lips twitched at the corners slightly when Firra reminded him that if he didn't go to this party Sri would be up here looking for him. He couldn't believe how easily that little girl had grown fond of him. He hadn't even tried to make her like him... but he supposed she was like her sister that way. He hadn't tried to get Selenity to like him either and yet she did. He watched Firra absently as she came into the room, having noticed that his gesture must have surprised her a little. He quietly shut the door once she was in the room and then started to take a bit of a wide step around her into the room. He gave her extra room more because he wasn't one hundred percent sure that she was comfortable being in the room alone with him. He wasn't afraid of her or anything and it wasn't like she had cooties or something absurd like that. He eyed the stack of clothes that she had once she held them out to him. He was rather surprised to see that they actually appeared to be black, rather than what he had been stuck wearing the other day. He took the clothes from her easily enough and stood there for a moment, just kind of staring at them as she explained that if they didn't fit that he would have to wear white. "I'd rather not wear white... so I do hope they fit." He commented absently before walking over to the changing screen so that he could change. He was somewhat used to having to change quickly and precisely but... well.. he wasn't entirely used to this style of clothing. He was at least thankful that this set of clothes didn't appear to be quite as gaudy as the last he had seen. All in all he supposed it wasn't that hard to get into. He'd left his removed clothes draped over the top of the changing screen once he was dressed and stepped out from behind the screen once he was properly clothed. Pants, shirt, jacket... that was all easy enough, even the tie was simple enough but that was mostly because he'd worn those a few times in his life thanks to his and his father's careers. The only thing he was really unsure of was whether or not all of the details hung properly or where pinned correctly. He didn't know this style of clothing like Firra did so really once he had stepped out from behind the screen it was mostly to show that the outfit appeared to fit and to make sure that he had everything on correctly and things were positioned where they were supposed to be. "...Black doesn't seem to be a very popular color here." He paused. "I assume you have something to do with this?" He questioned, though didn't wait for an answer before uttering a quiet. "Thank you."

Cyndel 01-15-2011 09:24 PM

Firra was a little surprised by the gesture since more often than not people simply took things at the door and then closed it in your face when you were making a delivery. She watched him give her a rather wide berth as he walked around her, but she didn't comment on it. Given the way the other maids acted, she supposed it wasn't unbelievable to think that he would believe she would be even more uncomfortable being alone with him behind a closed door. It didn't really bother her, although she did wish that there was a little more light in here. "I believe it should...if it's too big I can probably fix that a little," she said simply. Once he had taken the clothes and headed for the screen she politely turned around to face the back wall, not that she could see anything anyway, but it felt a little less awkward than simply staring at the screen while he changed. Once he had stepped out from around the screen again and spoke to her she turned around and looked him over. She looked satisfied with the way the fabric hung on him, at least from what she could tell in the dark, and was glad that she wasn't going to have to take the coat back and tailor it some more to make it fit better. She shrugged a little when he said that black wasn't a very popular color here and then asked if she had something to do with this. A tint of pink crossed her cheeks when he thanked her and she merely shrugged again. "You're welcome," she responded simply before starting forward, although she still managed to trip over the edge of the rug. She stumbled forward and then without even turning around kicked the rug back down with the toe of her shoe and proceeded forward as if nothing had happened. She had to squint her eyes a little once she got closer while she examined the pins and clips to make sure that everything was indeed hooked up properly. With the door closed, she was almost as blind as Nero was on the way here without his glasses. Luckily, she was so used to this sort of thing that she didn't really need to see what she was doing. "I didn't think you were going to put up with wearing what everyone else is, and you're going to be uncomfortable enough down there as it is. You would have been even more so should Sri have dragged you down in what you were wearing. Ow," she muttered as she pulled her finger back quickly from the brooch and put it to her lips the way many did after stabbing their finger on something. After a second she pulled it away and shook her hand out, simply wiping it off on the fabric of her dress beneath her apron. her dress was dark, anyway, so it wasn't really going to show up of course even if she had been in pink like everyone else, she didn't seem to care either way. She reached up to finish the last of the adjustments and then took a step back and tilted her head a little. "I think that does it," she said simply before she reached into the pocket of her apron and pulled out two small containers and a very thin brush. "Go sit down," she told him simply without even offering up and explanation, "and turn on a light unless you want to go looking like you were attacked by a toddler. I'm not very good at this as it is."

Yotsy 01-15-2011 11:02 PM

Nero hadn't really thought about giving Firra more light after he had shut the door. He could see just fine so it really hadn't occurred to him to be accommodating for her... but then again Selenity could somewhat see in the light, or so he thought. Maybe it was just the glowing eyes that gave him that impression, he couldn't remember. He watched her as she came closer and saw her trip. He was prepared to have to catch her though she didn't fall, she stayed upright and even managed to kick the rug back down. He was a little impressed by that but it didn't show on his face. He stood perfectly still while Firra inspected the clothes that she had made for him. He listened silently while Firra spoke, a little surprised that the maid cared enough to do something about his clothes so he wouldn't have to wear something he was completely unhappy in. He felt just a tad bad when she pricked her finger but again it didn't show. He really should've thought to turn a light on sooner. He glanced down at himself briefly when she finally took a step back and said that she thought that did it. Hell if he knew, he was just wearing the thing. He just kind of stared at her a moment when she told him to go sit down after having pulled some questionable things from her pocket. He moved almost automatically to turn on a light when she told him to and once the light was on he stared over at her again. "....What in the world are you talking about?" He paused. "...and what else do I have to have done to me? Dressing me up for a party where I'm not really invited isn't enough?" As far as he was concerned he may have to go to this party but no one would want him there except for Selenity and Sri. Everyone else would want him and his cousin gone and hidden away in some corner of the palace where no one had to look at them.... so he couldn't believe that there was still more.

Cyndel 01-16-2011 04:12 AM

Firra wandered over to the bed, or to the night stand rather and sat down the tiny bottles before she turned her gaze back to Nero again. She stared at him with that same blank expression when he asked what she was talking about, although one could almost say that she was staring at him like he was stupid for asking, although she wasn't really. She knew he didn't know their customs, although she wished he would just sit down so that she could get it over with. She sighed softly when he asked if dressing him up for something that he wasn't really invited to wasn't enough. "You were invited," she said simply. "This party is for Princess Selenity, she she asked you to come, then you were officially invited. It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks about it." She held up the brush simply and sighed. "It's customary for these types of events to decorate your face as well, even for males. Trust me, I have no intention of doing anything elaborate. I don't do makeup, that isn't my job," she said simply as she started to open the containers. One was nothing but black ink and the other appeared to be a sort of shimmering deep blue liquid. She looked back to him a little impatiently and sighed again. "Come on, sit down," she told him again. "I need to get back to work."

Yotsy 01-16-2011 06:13 AM

Nero ignored the bit about having been invited by Selenity. That didn't particularly matter to him since he knew that everyone else that was not going to want him there and regardless, he couldn't help thinking about that. He just kind of stared at Firra for a moment after she had explained what she planned to do to him next. He kept a pretty straight face though he probably looked like he wanted to ask if she were serious. Given who he was dealing with he didn't bother asking that because Firra didn't appear to be the joking type. He didn't particularly want makeup on his face but he also didn't really want to inconvenience Firra more than he obviously already had. He very reluctantly started to edge towards the bed so that he could sit down like she had asked. He really, really, didn't want to be letting her do this but he supposed if it had to be done it was better that she do it than one of the other maids, if they could've even brought themselves to get that close to him. "....Just get it over with..." He muttered quietly as he sat down for her. He knew this wasn't her fault so he didn't bother taking his displeasure out on her but it was obvious he wasn't happy about this.

Cyndel 01-16-2011 12:13 PM

Firra could tell that Nero was not all that happy about this turn of events, but there wasn't much to be said about it. The face painting was as much a part of dressing up for a ball like this here as wearing the suit. Why? She had no idea. It just was, and always had been as far back as she could remember. She stood quietly while she waited for him to sit down and then nodded a little when he told her to get it over with. She stood the brush without a word ans dipped the tip into the black paint before rolling it carefully and then reached over to place her hand on the side of his face. "Just hold still, I'm not very good at this," she said dryly. She placed her free hand to Nero's opposite cheek and tried to get him to turn his head a little before stating to draw very carefully beneath his eye. She lined his only visible eye in black and then moved to the one that was always covered by his hair, doing roughly the same thing, although with a little more difficulty since she had to try to hold his hair out of the way. Once she had done something to his other eye she moved back to the one she had started with and sighed softly before re-inking the brush and getting back to work. She pulled Nero's face up and over a little so that she could see better in the light and then leaned in close to him, probably uncomfortably so, as she started to draw smaller, more intricate lines down his face. She was focusing hard on what she was trying to do, and didn't particularly realize just how close she was getting to his face. The lines she made were mostly thin and intricately turned and twisted into one another until they came down to a point at the center of his cheek. More than once, she had obviously messed up a little since she let out a quiet growl or curse and then wound up drawing more. That was the only real reason that the design trailed so far down his cheek to begin with. She weaved in some of the blue paint as well to add some color to it and make the mark look less menacing than it otherwise might have. She also added a few careful designs to his head just around his eyebrow. Once she was satisfied with it, or fed up rather, she backed off and started to put the lids back onto the containers. "There...that's the best I can do. It's not great, but it will pass," she said simply.

Yotsy 01-17-2011 01:01 AM

Nero sat silently while Firra prepared to start painting up his face. He didn't particularly watch her, but he didn't really ignore her either. He kept a straight face when she touched his face and just kind of eyed the brush as she told him to hold still. "...That's reassuring." He commented quietly when she had said that she wasn't very good at this. That made him a little uncomfortable but he didn't bother expressing that any further than his previous comment. He continued to sit there silently and without moving while she worked, though he did stare at her a little once she had gotten past lining his eyes. He couldn't help a slightly curious expression creeping onto his face and in his eyes when she started growling or cursing. That worried him of course but she kept doodling... so maybe it wasn't anything too bad. He was a little nervous by the time that she said she was finished. He couldn't help it, she wasn't exactly being confident in her work and part of him was already ready to have to go wash it off or something. He continued to sit there after she was finished and had started cleaning up what she had used. A small part of him was worried to get up and go look, then again he did want to see what she had done to his face and find out if he was going to try and sneak off to wash it off or spend the night hiding his face. ".....Thanks, I guess."

Cyndel 01-17-2011 01:25 AM

Firra huffed slightly when Nero said that her comment was reassuring. This wasn't her job, it had just been kind of thrown at her since she was going up there voluntarily anyway. Of course she wasn't going to be very confident in her work, given that this was not her usual line of work. She wasn't the girlie-girl that most of the maids were, so she only barely knew how to do this sort of thing. Of course, she knew how to draw and how to use a brush, but her hand wasn't quite as steady as the others, so she had to go back and try to cover up her mistakes. She sighed once he had thanked her and shrugged a little. "You're welcome, I guess," she responded simply, although she paused before she put the caps back onto the paint. "...Well, go look at it and see what you think. It's a little larger than what I was going for. The brush slipped and I had to keep going to cover up a few places. If you don't like it, wash it off and I'll do it again...or do something else."

Yotsy 01-17-2011 02:02 AM

Nero wasn't in any hurry to go and look at his face. He knew that part of his hair would cover up some of whatever Firra had done but he wasn't so lucky with the other side of his face. He sighed quietly when she told him to go and look at it and that it was a little larger than what she had been going for. That wasn't reassuring either... but he finally pushed off of the bed and got to his feet. He just kind of waved her off when she said that if he didn't like it he could wash it off and she'd do it again. "...It's alright. You've got work to do, right?" He paused. "I'm sure it's fine." He told her though he wasn't really so sure. He reluctantly wandered over to a mirror and check his face. He couldn't help but just kind of stare at himself in the mirror, inspecting what Firra had done. He didn't say anything while he moved his hair and got a good look at the paint. He wasn't really sure what to say. He didn't hate it but he didn't love it either. He just never wore makeup on his face like this and it was kinda of weird. He let his hair drop back into place and let out a quiet breath. He hated the idea that he was going to have to wander around a party dressed the way he was with this on his face, but whatever. "You can go back to work." He told her finally.

Cyndel 01-17-2011 06:34 AM

Firra nodded a little when Nero asked her if she had work to do. Yes, thanks to him and his cousin being here, she had quite a bit of work to do, but she wasn't rude enough to put things that way. She thought that the rest of the maids who had taken off were just being ridiculous, and really it was no fault of Nero's that he was here. She still didn't bother to move or leave until he had gotten up to go look himself over. Personally, she didn't think that he looked bad, although she knew that was more up to him than to her. He wasn't used to this sort of thing, so he probably wasn't going to really like any of it. She as almost surprised when he turned around and told her that she could go back to work. "Alright," she agreed easily. She took up the containers and put the caps back on before pulling a cloth from her pocket to clean off the brush and wrapped it up enough to put it away without getting paint all over her clothes. "The thing will start in about half an hour...if I were you I would go ahead and get down there and pick out a hiding spot before the room gets too crowded," she said simply, "since I'm sure you're going to be a regular social butterfly." With that, she made her way to the door and stepped out into the hallway, although she was a little surprised to see that there were two other maids out in the hallway just a little further down. She stared at them for a moment as she closed the door behind her and took a step away from it. No sooner had she gotten away from the door did one of the maids descend on her and start asking the usual ridiculous questions that came up lately.
"Oh my god, you actually went into his room!?" the one exclaimed, "I can't believe you let him close the door, are you nuts?"
"...Um, no, I'm not nuts, and I'm not going to make the poor guy change with the door standing wide open. He isn't an idiot, he knows better than to lay a hand on me or anyone else here...and he also isn't deaf, so I suggest you shut your trap and get back to work. Here," she said as she shoved the makeup off into the other maid's hands. "Go put that up, I've done enough of your job for you. I have my own work to finish, you know. You nimrods are putting me behind," she said bluntly before she started off down the corridor again.

Yotsy 01-17-2011 06:56 AM

Nero stared over at Firra for a moment or two when she told him that the party would start in half an hour and if she were him she'd go find a hiding place before it got too crowded. He tried not to even twitch his lips at that. He didn't really need to go find a hiding place, even though he thought he might. Regardless of whenever he went down there everyone would part like the red sea for him and once he put himself on a wall they'd stare a little and eventually just leave him alone. Or at least he was pretty sure that was how it would work. He continued to stand where he was for a few moments and just watched as she exited the room. He turned his eyes back towards the mirror briefly and looked at himself again before shaking his head. He lingered in the room for only a few minutes longer before she caved and grabbed his shades and then headed for the door, slipping quietly out into the hall so that he could go ahead and head downstairs to find a place to adhere himself to before too many people found their ways into the room.

Cyndel 01-17-2011 08:04 AM

Nero wasn't the first person in the ballroom, although the few who had already made it down were mostly guards and maids who were taking up positions or setting out treats on the tables which were now lining one back wall. Of course Nero's presence made the maids speed up their work a little so that they could get out of the room more quickly. The guards simply watched him warily, at least until Ishta snapped at them to come to attention. Ishta had been making sure, to the best of her ability, that Nero and Reyes were left alone and not given a hard time around here, since that was Selenity's request, so anyone caught even thinking about bothering them was given an ear full. Fortunately, the other guys weren't too far behind him. Although they had been taken to get dressed first, their clothing was a bit more elaborate and difficult to put on, not to mention the facial decorations.

Much like most suits, the mens' attire was all relatively the same, with minor differences to style and color. All of their outfits were white, although Nanashi had once again wound up in a dress shirt with red and gold accents, whereas Kyran had managed to wrangle purple and silver, and Kanaone emerald and gold. They, too, had also wound up with paint on their faces, although Kyran had gotten away with much less than the other two. Kyran simply had small purple leaf-like marks coming from the bottom and top of the outer corners of his eyes, which were topped with slightly longer spirals. He hadn't wanted to be made up any more than Nero did, so his marks were barely even noticeable. Nero's would have been almost just as tiny had Firra been a little more well trained with a brush. Kanone, and Nanashi, however, didn't get off so easily. Naturally, Nanashi wasn't going to tell any maid that they couldn't do something to him, so the maids who had him had a bit more fun with his face since she hadn't gotten to do much at all to Kyran. Nanashi wound up with what appeared to be long, shimmering red, orange, and gold phoenix feathers trailing down the left side of his face from the corner of his eye, and spiraling, luminescent dots curving and curling down over top of them, and up around his temple. His other eye was simply shaded in red and tuned with tiny dots of the same glowing paint, with nothing really extravagant done. The only time that Nanashi had throw a bit of a fit was when the maid started to try to take off his headband. She was definitely confused as to why he refused to remove it, but she relented and coaxed him into at least trading it for a white one. He put it on himself while hiding his face as much as possible, although she wound up tying it for him while he held it in place over his third eye. Once that was taken care of she had went about straightening up his hair and trying to tell him that he would look better without the headband, but of course, he refused to let her take it off again, even if it didn't look quite right. Just to try to make it fit in a little better with the outfit, she had finally taken a large red gem which was lined in gold and hooked it into the front of the material. That...was a little uncomfortable, but if it would keep her from trying to get him to keep it on, he would wear it.

Kanone, was probably the easiest one for the maids to get along with of the men. He didn't gripe or argue about anything that they had tried to put him in, or anything that they tried to do with his face, or even his hair. When they asked him what he wanted done to his face, he had simply smiled and told them, "whatever you want." By the time they had finished, he had a pale green dusting over and around each of his eyes as well as a line of glitter lining both the top and bottom of each lid. His right eye, however, was much more extravagantly adorned with a series of long, spiraling and weaving lines which consisted of several tiny little dots. The dots ranged from black, to green, and then to the near mildly glowing white, all of which curled and twisted into one another and trailed down the far side of his head, dissipating as they went, although the longest section reached nearly to his jaw. There was another series of the dotted curling lines coming from the lower half of his eyebrow to mix into the flow of the others, although none of those were black. The black started just below his eye, and stopped very shortly thereafter since that was a color seldom used anyway. Of course, he really didn't seem to mind one little bit, and even complimented the work once it was finished. The maid seemed to like the way that he styled his hair up on the back of his head in a loose ponytail and did it for him, although she made sure that it was all properly brushed and laying correctly before tying it up in an emerald green ribbon, which she allowed to simply hang down on each side, without a bow. She tipped on a small green gem hair clip over the ribbon both to help hold it together and hide where it was tied and then turned him loose. Once they had reached the ballroom, it didn't take him long to spot Nero against the wall, considering that he was one black blotch against a wall of pure white. He smiled and walked over to him casually before leaning down and tilting his head to look up at his face. "Now where in the world did you find that? I swear, just about everything in that dressing room was either, white, silver, or gold." Without much warning he reached up to slide his glasses up so that he could see the mark on his face. "Oh hey, that looks neat." He moved his hand quickly as if jerking away from what could be something dangerous and let Nero's glasses fall back to the tip of his nose. "You seen any sign of the girls? Gods, if we're this fancy, I can't wait to see what they did to them," he commented with a laugh.

Nanashi stayed practically glued to Kyran's side once they had been released. He felt a little silly having half of his face painted, but he didn't really mind it too much. People were going to look at him funny regardless, so he didn't guess it really mattered how he looked. He kept his eyes on the floor, simply watching the end of the long, robe-like shirts they had been wrestled into swish in front of him as he walked. "...So how crowded do you think this place is going to be?" he asked Kyran quietly as he spared a glance up. There weren't really many guests there at all just yet, only one or two who had decided to claim the area furthest away from Nero to stand. They were all dressed up just as gaudy as the rest of them had been, facial decorations and all. As soon as someone looked at him his eyes darted right back to the floor again and he ducked his head just a little bit.

Yotsy 01-17-2011 10:25 PM

Nero had been keeping to himself while he stood leaned up against the wall. He hadn't said two words to anyone since he had come in and had only spared a brief glance around the room just to get an idea of how many people were already in it and what they were doing. He didn't bother lifting his head again until he heard more people coming into the room, although by the time he had heard anything they were already in the room. He had decent hearing but with a room so large it was kind of hard to hear from afar unless it echoed and well... what he had thought was the other guys just entering the room, hadn't been. He couldn't help staring at Kanone for a moment or two as he got close enough for him to see the paint-job on the guys face. He continued to stare at it, even as Kanone was lifting up his shades to get a look at his own paint. He automatically squinted his eyes a little just before Kanone dropped the shades and then shook his head a little. Leave it to Kanone to have the nerve to do that to him as well as be idiot enough to let a maid go that wild on his face. He sighed quietly and lifted a hand to adjust the shades briefly before answering anything Kanone had asked. "Special order." He said simply in response to his asking where he found the black dress clothes. "...And no, I haven't seen any of the girls. Nor do I care to." He didn't even care to see his cousin. God only knew how elaborate he'd gotten to go since he was one of the 'girls'. He understood his cousin as much as he possibly could... but that didn't mean he wanted to see him all dolled up.

Kyran ignored the way he was dressed and the fact that he had makeup on fairly easily. The clothes weren't really that bad, but he could've done without the makeup. Thankfully though he hadn't gotten nearly as made up as Nanashi or Kanone. He wasn't sure why neither of them hadn't expressed a displeasure for so much make up... but oh well. It wasn't his face. The clothes nor the makeup hindered him really and he walked and kept his head held up high as if he were still dressed in something he'd normally wear and hadn't a lick of paint on his face. He had started to wander off towards Nero and Kanone as well since he wasn't really sure where else to go for the time being. He did glance over his shoulder momentarily to look at Nanashi when he asked about how crowded the place was going to get and smiled weakly. "This is a party for a Princess, Nanashi.... a lot of people are going to want to be here." He told him. "You'll be alright, the whole group will be here too, so there will be people you know."

Kanone couldn't help but laugh slightly at the way that Nero was staring at his face, at least once he was capable of seeing the guy's eyes. "Haha, sorry," he commented after he remembered that he probably half blinded the guy. "Special order, huh? Did Selenity have it made for you?" he asked since he wasn't too sure who else would have had it done. He laughed a little when Nero said that he didn't want to see the girls, nor did he care to. "Aww, why not?" he asked, just before he remembered that Reyes had gone with the girls. "Oh...ha ha ha...never mind. Hmm, that could be interesting...," he mused with a quiet chuckle. After a moment he turned back around and leaned against the wall next to Nero, folding his hands over his chest similarly. "Hmm...are we going to sit and brood through the whole party?" he asked simply. "You should at least try to enjoy yourself a little," he told him with a weak smile. Of course, he wasn't stupid. He knew that it wasn't exactly easy to enjoy ones self in a place where you could feel the desire people had to be rid of you. He would probably end up staying pretty close to Nero most of the night, just to give him someone to talk to. As tough and broody as Nero was, Kanone found it hard to believe that anyone was really perfectly okay with being disliked for no good reason. "Well, have you seen Cel, at least?" he asked after a few moments. "The maids couldn't find him, and I never say him in the dressing room or anything. Then again, I didn't see you either."

Nanashi knew that Kyran had asked the maids to go easy on the makeup with him, but he hadn't quite been that brave. He more or less echoed Kanone and told the maid to do whatever she wanted, and so he had wound up with curling phoenix feathers on the side of his face. He didn't really mind them too much. Honestly, he thought they looked kind of neat, but given the way that Kyran had seemed so against being really painted up, he had a feeling that this was probably a little much. Of course after seeing Kanone and some of the other males in the room...Kyran's face was a little under-painted. He bit his lower lip lightly when Kyran told him that a lot of people were going to want to be here and simply nodded his head a little when Kyran told him that he would be alright. "Yeah," he responded quietly. He stepped a little closer to Kyran almost absently and then glanced around a little again. "Where are LaRae and the others?" he asked curiously since he hadn't seen any of them yet.

[btw, you own all the girls so you can bring them in whenever. lol. Cel will be last since he took the longest to get ready.]

Nero shook his head a little when Kanone asked if Selenity had had his suit made for him. "I don't think so." He said quietly. Honestly he wasn't too sure but he thought it had been all Firra when it came to the suit but for all he knew Selenity could've mentioned something. He just kind of looked at Kanone like he was an idiot when he asked why he didn't want, nor care to see the girls. Once it finally clicked and Kanone made his comment that this could be interesting, he just shook his head and rolled his eyes a little. None of that could've been seen though since he had his shades on but it was probably vaguely obvious in his body language. He didn't bother looking at Kanone or even gracing his statement with a response when he said that he should at least try to enjoy himself a little. That... wasn't going to happen. It would be too hard to try that and he didn't really even want to be here to begin with. He was only here because he didn't really have a choice not to be. Selenity wanted him here and so would Sri. If he wasn't here where they could see him... someone would come looking for him. The last thing he needed to do was cause too many more problems than he already was and he certainly didn't need or want a 'Nero Search Party' of any sort. He absently glanced around the room a little after Kanone had asked if he had seen Celestine. He couldn't exactly remember the last time he had seen the kid since he barely left his room. He gave a slight shake of his head. "No, no idea." He answered. "And as far as I can tell, no maid was willing to escort me to the dressing room." He couldn't help one of those short dry laughs. "Instead I had the only one not completely terrified of me come see me." Hence the special order.

Kyran wasn't really too worried about the crowd that would show up. It was going to be a lot of high class people from different territories and usually they were decent people. He also thought that Nanashi would have it a little easier than Nero. Nanashi may have been a dragon-half but at least his scales weren't black. Then of course not everyone would be that rude to Nanashi at a function like this. Plus... Nero was more of a spectacle than Nanashi. It was probably unheard of for a dark dragon to be at a light dragons birthday party, let alone a Princesses. He looked at Nanashi for a moment before glancing around the room a little, looking for the girls. He had opened his mouth and was about to say he wasn't sure but at the last minute he saw them coming into the room and nodded his head in their direction. "Almost on cue." He said with a quiet chuckle.

Aamori and the other girls hadn't been that far behind the boys but had been well enough away that they hadn't entered together. She and Reyes were walking at the same pace and came into the room together with LaRae not that far behind. LaRae would've been closer to them save for the fact that she had ditched her heels again. She'd had some trouble keeping them off of her feet. A maid would find them and make her put them on every time she managed to get out of them. It was probably better that LaRae went without... she couldn't walk at all in heels. Then again... Aamori wasn't that much better. She could at least walk and look somewhat dignified while doing so but she was prone to tripping or stumbling and heels just didn't help that in the slightest. Reyes though didn't seem to have an ounce of trouble in her shoes even with a slightly more form-fitting dress. Aamori was almost jealous but at least she wasn't the worst walker of the bunch. LaRae trying to walk in heels was certainly something to see. As much as she liked her friend, it was just too funny not to laugh. Aamori and Reyes almost instantly spotted the boys and started in their direction, although LaRae took a moment or two to even follow. She was overly nervous about being seen by anyone and as soon as she had come into the room she had done a quick scan to see who all was in the room already and then proceeded to wander after Aamori and Reyes with her head down a little, as if that might help hide her broken and stumpy horns.
