Celestine kept his eyes on Kyran steadily while he seemed to be trying to register what it was that he was saying to him. Once Kyran turned back to him he merely sighed quietly, lowering his ears back a little after Kyran had told him that he would rather leave. He glanced behind him momentarily when Kyran told him that if he stayed that he would be stuck with him as well. He did want to go back upstairs...but for the time being, he it was not a necessity that he go back to bed. He turned his head to look back up to Kyran again and started to make another series of soft, purr-like noises. "...I know that," he replied quietly. "...It's fine." He looked up at Kyran for a few moments and then sighed softly and glanced past him for a moment before he turned his gaze up to Kyran again. For a moment he just stared at him before he shifted back across his hand and gently nuzzled his head against Kyran's thumb lightly. "...Just stay with her. She needs you." He turned his gaze back up to Kyran's face once again and tilted his head slightly before he let out a quiet sigh and leaned his head over against Kyran's thumb lightly. "...This is one time that you shouldn't run away from her. She doesn't need to go through this alone." He nuzzled Kyran again lightly before curling up where he had been resting before comfortably and closing his eyes while making another soft purring sound. "...I will stay with you." He knew that it wasn't like he had much of a choice in the matter anyway...but he thought that he should at the very least let Kyran know that he was there for him, more than he was just stuck with him for the time being.

Kyran really didn’t want to stay in the infirmary now that he had his update and everything and had been hoping that Celestine’s desire to go upstairs would override everything else. Alas… it didn’t appear so. He couldn’t completely understand Celestine but he had been listening to him long enough now that he was starting to pick up on a little more and slowly piece some things together. He would much rather have had him in his humanoid form so that it was easier to understand him… but he supposed what level of speech he was able to make out was better than nothing. He stared down at Celestine when he was trying to talk to him and convey something but once Celestine was done talking her just kind of averted his eyes while he stood there holding him. He knew that Selenity was in a tough spot right now and that she could probably use the company… and if it hadn’t been Ellior’s bedside that she was next to he wouldn’t have second guessed going to sit with her. It was because it was Ellior that he didn’t want to be in the room. He continued to stand there for a few moments while he thought about what he was going to do. He had gathered that Celestine was along for the ride regardless… which didn’t help sway him in either direction really. What did sway him slightly was the thought of forcing her to have to sit down here with a look like that on her face with no one to be with her… because none of the healers would give her the comfort that she needed. The only person in this palace that could probably do that that wasn’t in the group was supposedly guarding Nero’s room. He finally let out a defeated sigh and started to turn around. He headed back towards the bed where Ellior was but didn’t bother getting close to it. Instead he positioned himself against the nearest wall and stood there silently while still holding Celestine in his hand. If he was going to be down here for any length of time he was going to need to rethink how comfortable standing against a wall was while holding clothes in one hand and a small dragon in the other…

Celestine sighed softly when it seemed like Kyran had finally decided to stay. He kept his head resting lightly against Kyran's palm while Kyran made his way over to the wall, although after he had stopped moving he raised his head a little to look up at him. He knew that Kyran was not going to want to stand there holding his arm out like that for any real length of time, he she carefully uncoiled himself from his arm and started to raise himself up a little. He opened his wings and flapped them a few times before lifting himself off of Kyran's hand and flitting up to his shoulder. He was still a little more unsteady than he intended to be, but at the very least he managed to reach his mark. He touched down on Kyran's shoulder carefully and lowered himself down a little, snaking his body across the back of Kyran's neck and laying down so that his tail was hanging over his opposite shoulder and dangling limply at his chest. He sighed heavily and laid himself down on Kyran's shoulder heavily, clearly a bit tired from the short flight. He laid there for a few moments in an attempt to catch his breath before he looked up to Kyran again. He let out another soft sigh and then edged his head closer to Kyran's, gently nuzzling against his lower jaw. He didn't bother to say anything more, seeing as he was fairly certain that he had said plenty enough before. He was well aware that this was not easy for Kyran, but he still thought that it was important that he stay here for now.
Selenity had already assumed that Kyran was going to leave at the first chance that he got. That seemed to be what he was often doing lately. As soon as he could politely escape, he did. Of course, she didn't want him to go, but she knew that trying to stop him was pointless. She wanted to leave herself, honestly...but Ellior had woken up for at least a few minutes before while they were trying to give him the antidote. He had been so frightened and confused, that she couldn't help but want to stay to comfort him. It really hadn't helped that he had found her hand and hadn't let go of it since then, even though the healers had already put him back to sleep. It was evident that he was still in a lot of pain, and she wished there was something more she could do for him. Unfortunately, after getting Celestine down here, holding his hand and staying with him seemed to be all that she was able to do. She still felt somewhat responsible for all of this, even though she knew that none of it was her fault. The simple knowledge that he had been poisoned to prevent him from marrying her still bothered her greatly. What other reason could there have been for it? She had expected to look up and see that Kyran was gone when she heard the door close again, although she was a little surprised to see that he was coming back inside. She watched him for a few moments in silence as he made his way over to the wall. It took her a moment to even realize that he was holding a very miniature dragon in his hand, at least until it decided to fly up onto his shoulder. Of course, she recognized it quickly, but for once, she was devoid of questions. Naturally, she was curious, but right now there was just too much weighing on her mind for her to worry about why Celestine looked like an infant. After a moment she lowered her eyes away from him and stared down absently at the hand that was clasping Ellior's. She wished that Kyran would come closer to her. The fact that he was so close and yet still so far away was enough to drive her insane. "...Kyran...," she began quietly, not daring to look at him. She could feel her eyes watering, and the last thing she wanted to do right now was cry in front of him. "...It's alright.... You can go," she tried to assure him softly. She did want him to stay...but she wasn't sure that she could hold herself together if he still couldn't bring himself to get any closer to her than that. |
Kyran probably couldn’t explain himself properly in words if he was asked what made him stand against the wall rather than get closer to Selenity. He understood bits and pieces of why he did it but felt like it was more complicated than his mind wanted to make it out to be. His attention shifted back to Celestine when he felt him starting to move. He watched him closely, following him with his eyes without moving… at least until he no longer could see him well. Once he had started to settle down behind his neck, along his shoulders he finally lowered his hand. He was kind of glad that Celestine had moved himself and had clearly been conscious enough to not make him stand there and hold him in his hand for whatever length of time they were going to be down here. It was honestly a little strange, at least at first, to have Celestine where he was but in the long run it was going to be a lot more comfortable. He didn’t utter a word while Celestine nuzzled against him he just smiled a little weakly. He eventually looked back towards Selenity, trying to ignore the fact that she was holding Ellior’s hand like that. He couldn’t really lie about it… he kind of hated watching her like that and that wasn’t fair. Ellior couldn’t help the state he was in right now and under any other circumstances he would have been just as concerned as she was for his wellbeing… but having her in the room and so close to him like that, well, it just stung a little. It was hard to stand there and watch and he honestly didn’t want to… but he also knew he shouldn’t feel that way. Ellior could die and he shouldn’t be holding the engagement against him. He stared at Selenity’s back when she started to say his name and listened silently when she spoke. He could tell just from her not looking at him and the quiet way that she spoke that she was bothered, probably by where he chose to stand. He wasn’t an idiot… though he wished he could feign ignorance. He and Celestine both knew that Selenity had wanted him to stay, it had been pretty obvious and his only assumption was that his actions were making her tell him otherwise. He could figure all of that out easily enough… but he didn’t know how to readily fix it without in turn hurting himself a little. He didn’t particularly want to explain that to Selenity either, not in this room over Ellior’s possibly dying body and well… not ever to be perfectly honest. Then of course it was embarrassing to even admit to himself that he was jealous of someone who could very well be dying right this minute… and that even with that knowledge he was still letting his jealousy keep him from comforting the person he loved. He still hadn’t bothered to move from the spot on the wall he had chosen to lean against, partially because he didn’t really want to leave her when she clearly wanted him around… and also because he just didn’t want to get too much closer to her while she was busy fawning over Ellior. As terrible as it sounded… he just couldn’t easily bring himself to join her in fawning over him. He was for all intents and purposes his rival for Selenity’s heart and it was just weird even thinking about sitting beside her and sharing a joint concern for Ellior’s wellbeing. It was a lot easier to show his concern when Selenity wasn’t around…
|
Selenity realized that Kyran must have sensed how much she wanted him to stay...and knew that must have been the only reason he was back there. Kyran was too kind to leave someone alone when they clearly wanted his company...but obviously, he could not completely push aside his desire to leave. Honestly, it had not escaped her at all how eager he always was to get away from her since he had found out about her eminent engagement, and every time she had to watch him trying to politely scurry off, it hurt. She knew why he was doing it...but it still hurt her every time that he did. She was still in love with him, and she barely had any feelings developed toward Ellior. She did like him...but she loved Kyran far more than she believed she could ever love Ellior. However, she couldn't stand how he had been acting toward her recently, even if she did understand it. She imagined that seeing her holding Ellior's hand was not helping him any, but he should have known that she would have been holding his hand, whoever was lying here if they had wanted her to hold it, even a complete stranger. She kept her face turned well away from Kyran while she waited for him to leave, but after a few moments she started to lower her head a little, her fingers absently tightening on Ellior's hand slightly. She felt her eyes welling even more and she tried to blink them back. It was ridiculous for her to be crying over something so trivial in the light of what was going on right in front of her, but she couldn't seem to help it. She was upset, period, and now that she did not have anything to focus herself on, it was even harder not to let her emotions take over again. She had already done everything for Ellior that she could, and now all that she could do was wait. At the very least, she wished that Kyran could come and sit with her rather than stand back there clearly wishing that he could leave. Right now, she honestly wasn't sure if she would be more upset if he left her or if he stayed where he was.
She did not offer to look over at Kyran again, honestly not wanting her to see the look on her face right now. Her tail shifted across the floor and wrapped around her feet as she sat there, and she took a few deep breaths trying to force back her tears again. However, that very quickly seemed to turn into a losing battle. Her shoulders were already shaking with her effort to hold herself together, and after the tears started running down her cheeks, and she sucked in a noticeably ragged breath, she couldn't stop herself from letting out a quiet sob and shutting her eyes. She knew that she was found out as soon as she had tried to take in that breath, so there was little point in trying so hard to hold it back now. "Kyran, just go away if you don't want to stay!" she finally said in a broken voice, "I don't need you if you can't even get close to me...." Celestine turned his head toward Selenity momentarily when she told Kyran that he could leave. He let out a quiet sigh, not entirely surprised by that response. He knew that Selenity wanted Kyran to comfort her...not just stand there like a knot on a log. Of course, he realized that staying with her was difficult for him...but even still, he thought that he could at least go to her. As soon as Selenity noticeably started crying he looked over to Kyran and flicked his tail a little and stared up at him, but as soon as Selenity spoke again he jerked his head forward and clamped his tiny fangs down on Kyran's ear lobe. Of course, all Kyran would likely feel would be a tiny pinch, but even still, he hoped it got his point across as he growled, "What are you doing!?" quietly in his ear. |
Kyran was still a little at a loss for what exactly he was doing right that minute. He wanted to stay, kind of… and he wanted to leave but he was trying to weigh things as best as he could in his mind. It was just kind of hard to get past the monster known as jealousy… even for him. He had been almost absently staring at Selenity’s back while he thought, though it hadn’t escaped him even in the slightest once she took in a breath that was obviously riddled with tears. She hadn’t needed to speak for him to hear in her voice that she had started crying but hearing it in her voice had just kind of driven it home. He felt bad that he had very obviously made her so upset that she couldn’t help but cry… or at least added to her already tense emotions. He barely had time to really respond to that other than to register it before he felt the sharp pinch at his ear of extremely tiny teeth. He had almost forgotten that Celestine was so close to his face while he was a little lost in thought but obviously it was all too clear to him now. He had been surprised by the feeling which had caused him to gasp quietly but he regained himself quickly enough and lifted up his hand long enough to tap the top of Celestine’s head in an almost ‘bad boy’ motion. He had understood what he had unintentionally done without Celestine’s two cents added in… After he responded to Celestine he let his focus trail back to Selenity. He really did feel bad for making her cry, even though he hadn’t intended to. He also hadn’t liked hearing her say that she didn’t need him if he couldn’t even get close to her. He could get close to her, that wasn’t the problem, not at all. He’d been forcing himself to stay away from her ever since he found out about the engagement… not only to try and save his own hurt feelings but also because it was better that she was with someone like Ellior than him. That didn’t mean that he didn’t still want to be with her…
He continued to stand there for a brief moment before he pushed off the wall. It probably sounded like he was going to do what she wanted and just leave since he obviously didn’t want to stay… but that wasn’t really the case. He moved a little quieter than he intended to, partially because he wasn’t even thinking about it. He draped Celestine’s clothes over the nearest chair and then moved towards the bed where Selenity was. He didn’t say a word, merely reached down from behind her but off to the side and pried her hands away from Ellior’s. As soon as he forced her to let go he moved his hand to grasp her elbow and then gently placed his other hand at her opposite waist and pretty much plucked her up and away from the bed, whether she was willing to move or not. He knew that she was probably not ready to leave Ellior’s side but he wasn’t really giving her much of an option unless she physically fought back. Once he had her moved away from the bed enough he set her back on her feet and released her waist but maintained the hold on her elbow. She was light enough that moving her really wasn’t a hassle for him, if anything it was disrespectful because he hadn’t bothered asking for her permission. Since he still had her elbow he went ahead and started moving towards the door to exit the room. He didn’t want to have to drag her but he would if she resisted. He wasn’t really focused on how he was treating her so much as he was focused on getting her out of that room and somewhere that they could be alone for a few minutes without prying eyes and ears. Once he had cleared the door from the infirmary and into the main hallway he checked for guards and when he didn’t see any he lead her around to the lesser hallway that lead outside to the gardens; the hallway that Ellior had previously been brought in though. If Ellior hadn’t been brought in this way he wouldn’t have even known it was where it was, or that it opened up where it did… where there was actually a somewhat secluded area. Well… unless you were looking at the doors head on… then maybe it wasn’t as secluded as he would have liked, but it was good enough. He continued to lead her down the lesser hallway until he reached the doors that opened up into the back of the palace, beneath the balcony. He paused and opened the door long enough to lead her outside. Once they were outside he didn’t bother going any further than he already had but he did move her once more so that she was practically cornered between him and what little cubby the curved stairs provided. He probably looked frustrated and emotionally distraught but once his eyes actually focused on her face and the fact that she really had been crying his features softened. He lifted his hands up and gently placed one on either side of her face, letting his thumbs rest lightly on her cheek bones. His thumbs didn’t stay there very long before he carefully ran them under her eyes simultaneously to try and wipe away what was left of her tears. After that, he still didn’t say anything but instead lowered his head so that he could press his lips to hers, gently at first and only more intensely if she didn’t appear to fight him on the action. He was sorry for a lot of the things that had gone on since he found out about the engagement… a lot of it he couldn’t change but he didn’t want her thinking he couldn’t get close to her. He could… and he fought not to get close to her but only because he felt it’d be best if she fell in love with a light dragon, especially if one was presented to her in the capacity of a fiancé. He knew in the back of his mind that this was like… taking a huge step back… but he felt like he had to show her that he still cared as much as he always had, if not more. |
Celestine closed his eyes when he felt the sharp tap on the top of his head and almost immediately released Kyran's ear before settling down once again, wrapping himself a little more securely. He let out a quiet, incomprehensible grumble, but did not bother to make any other movements or sounds, especially once Kyran did finally start moving.
Selenity heard when Kyran moved this time, though she didn't bother to turn her head. She assumed that he was headed straight for the door. She let out a quit gasp of surprise and her body went ridged when she felt him touching her hand. She did put up a little resistance when he started trying to pry her hand away from Ellior's, mainly because she had no idea what he was trying to do. She started to open her mouth in protest to the motion, but hardly got to make a squeak before she felt him forcing her out of the chair. Honestly, no one around here would have dated treat her that way...except for maybe Ishta. He wasn't exactly being gentle with her in his effort to get her out of the room, and she wasn't all that thrilled about the way he was manhandling her...so to speak. She didn't want to get up and move right now, especially when he wasn't even saying anything. The way he was behaving made it seem like he was irritated with her, or something, and frankly, she did not want to be dragged off to some corner so he could yell at her if that was what he was going to do. She tried to pull her elbow away when He started to pull her toward the door, but soon enough found herself following him since she was unable to escape his grasp. She could have...if she really wanted to, but she really did not want to cause a scene. Once they had made it out into the hallway, she dragged her feet a little as he led her down to the double doors at the end of the hall and pushed one open to allow them outside. She let out a little yip as he pushed her toward the wall and then immediately wrapped her arms around herself once he had released her elbow. She finally stared up at him, tears still streaking both sides of her face. Parts of her hair was sticking to her cheeks, and she had her teeth clenched together to keep herself from making too much noise, although she still couldn't seem to stop herself from shaking. She looked angry, and upset, and...well, just hurt above anything. She had been hurting for days, but today, she just couldn't seem to keep a lid on it, not with everything that was going on. She backed up a little when she saw the way that Kyran was looking at her and absently tightened her grip on her arms slightly. She tensed a little when he reached out to touch her face. Her chest fluttered and ached at the same time, and she honestly had no idea how to react. Kyran had been avoiding her as if she had the plague for days and now that she was finally at her wits end, she didn't seem to know what to do with him. Part of her was afraid of what he was going to do or say right now. She did not offer to move when he ran his thumbs below her eyes, nor when he leaned closer to her, at least not until his lips touched hers. Once again, she tensed up just a little and almost pulled away, though something stopped her from moving anywhere. Part of what stopped her was the wall. She let him kiss her and allowed her eyes to close, though she did not offer to release her hold on her own arms. She felt like if she moved her arms there was going to be some sort of gaping hole in her chest. She leaned her head up into the kiss a little when he started to kiss her a little more passionately. She had longed to feel Kyran's touch for days...or even be near him for a while. However...now that he was with her this way...she couldn't seem to ignore the nagging ache in her chest. Wasn't this what she had wanted? She shut her eyes a little more tightly, feeling more tears pouring out of her eyes the longer she tried to think. That ache was almost unbearable...and she did not know how to make it stop. After a few moments she couldn't help but start crying again. Her knees started to cave beneath her and she pulled away from the kiss slowly before leaning back against the wall and tightening her grip on her arms. She lowered her head and sucked in another, ragged sobbing breath before she began to slowly sink down to the ground, keeping her arms around herself. She didn't know what was wrong with her...but she couldn't seem to stop crying. She had been spending the last several days trying not to cry over this...and she had spent a good portion of the night trying not to cry over what had happened to Ellior and Nero (on Nero's order)...now she just couldn't stop herself. Her entire chest ached in a way that she was not used to, and she didn't even really understand what it was that she was feeling. She knew that part of it was fear...that Kyran was going to go back to how he had been since he had found out about the engagement after this, and part of it...well, she really didn't know what it was. She just knew that right now...even though Kyran was right there, she still felt terribly alone. Celestine remained dangling around Kyran's neck for a while...at least until he had leaned in to press his lips against Selenity's. He...was a little closer to that show than he really cared for. He leaned his head back away from the two of them and then looked out toward the garden for a moment before he uncoiled himself from Kyran's neck. There was a small tree nearby out in the garden...he could at least make it there. Without a sound, he slipped off of Kyran's shoulder and opened his wings, flapping them quickly before he took off in the direction of the tree. It wasn't all that far away, so he would still be able to hear everything that was happening, but he coiled himself around one of the branches and settled down with his head turned away from the two of them so that perhaps he would not be intruding quite as much as he was before then. |
Kyran hadn’t moved his hands completely from the sides of Selenity’s face while he was kissing her. He had noticed at the very start that she seemed apprehensive but he hadn’t bothered to pull away, especially not once she responded more positively to the kiss once it became more passion filled. He almost didn’t notice right away when tears started to spill from her eyes. He had lowered one hand to his shoulder but the other hand remained cupped to the side of her face. If that hand hadn’t been there he probably wouldn’t have noticed the tears right away, or at least not until it had become more obvious that she was crying. He didn’t fight to prolong the kiss once she had started crying and pulling away. Instead he pulled his arms back and let her be, at least until she started to lower herself to the ground. He almost instinctively lowered himself down as well so that he was kneeling on one knee. He was concerned and honestly slightly confused as to why she was crying again. He had hoped that by kissing her the way that he had his feelings might have gotten across better than if he had stood there and tried to find the words to make her understand… but that kiss had seemed to accomplish was to make her cry… again. During the whole process from start to finish he hadn’t been paying attention to anything but her and trying to get his feelings across that he hadn’t even noticed that Celestine had moved, not that he particularly cared or even noticed right now. He was stuck knelt in front of Selenity at a little bit of a loss and all of his focus was on her and not much of anything else. He wasn’t entirely too sure what he should do at this point… well, other than what he would’ve done if Ellior had never become a part of the picture. He had been avoiding acting the way that he normally did around her for their own sakes but he didn’t know what else to do right now than just be himself. He reached over without any hesitation and put his arms around her and pulled her closer to his chest. “…I’m sorry.” He apologized quietly. “I wasn’t trying to make you cry more.” He added without a thought. He was quiet for a few moments before speaking up again. “…I guess that was a little brash of me.” He said honestly. “…I just …I thought that might …well, that it might have better expressed my feelings than words…” He told her quietly. He still wasn’t sure what exactly to say to her to make any of this better, if there was even anything that could be said. “…It has been hard...” He paused. “…to be apart from you the past couple days.” He started quietly. “But it was a little easier on me that way.” He added. “Seeing you constantly reminded me of the situation that we’re in… and I didn’t want to hurt every time I looked at you, or even him for that matter.” He admitted quietly. Even now he still hurt but he was trying to put himself back out there, at least a little, for her sake… even with the knowledge that there was more pain to come… a lot more. “…Not a day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t thought about you.” He said almost longingly and tightened his grip on her a little [if she hadn’t pulled away before now]. “…I still love you, I always will.” He added lastly, almost in a whisper.

Selenity was barely paying attention to Kyran when he knelt down in front of her. Her eyes were closed and she had all but curled in on herself in the corner he had backed her into before. She still did not know what to think. Of course, she had felt Kyran's passion, but for some reason instead of warming her it only made her feel terrible...and she wasn't entirely sure why. Of course, some small part of her understood well enough. She felt terrible because her feelings had started to waver, just a little. Kyran's plan had been working...despite her efforts not to allow it to do so. She knew that Kyran was the first man who had ever looked at her as a woman...and not as a princess and a means to gain power. That was what had attracted her to him the most. However, now that Ellior had been thrown into the mix, she wasn't sure what to think. She did not hate him...and she knew well enough that he was not doing this for his own gain. Unfortunately, she had a bit of trouble reading him, but either way...she did not dislike him. She had seen him stand up for bother Nero and Nanashi, and she knew that he wasn't like most of the men she was presented with. She still was not in love with him the way that she loved Kyran...but she did like him the same way that she liked Nero when he wasn't being a total jerk.
She opened her eyes when she felt Kyran place his arms around her and then raised her head just a little when he apologized, although she still did not bother uncurling herself. She sniffed and tried once more to reign in her tears when Kyran tried to explain to her what he had been doing. Finally, she started to relax into his arms a little and nuzzled up against his chest. She still could not stop her eyes from watering, but she did at least quiet down a little. "...I know...," she told him quietly, her voice barely breaking a whisper when he told her why he had been avoiding her. "...but it...it still hurts...watching you run away...," she told him quietly. She finally turned a little and pulled her arms away from her own chest to wrap around Kyran tightly, as if she never intended to let go of him after she felt his grip on her tighten. "...I love you, too...," she told him quietly. "I still love you...and I...I can't stop loving you...." She shook her head a little and buried her face into Kyran's shirt just a little. "...I...I don't know what to do...," she admitted quietly. "I...I feel like...like I don't have control over my own life anymore...everyone else keeps making the decisions and I'm just along for the ride." She wrapped her arms a little more tightly around Kyran and pressed herself as close to him as she could manage without actually crawling into his lap. "...I want...to be with you...," she told him earnestly. "...You are the first person who has ever looked at me...even knowing who I was, and saw a me for me. That means something to me that I don't think you could ever begin to understand.... Still...I...." She took in a deep, shaky breath and then shook her head again as she nuzzled it deeper into Kyran's chest, muffling her voice as she spoke again. "...I'm afraid...," she whispered quietly. "...I don't...I don't want anything to happen to you.... I don't...want anyone else to be hurt...because of me...." |
Kyran listened quietly whenever Selenity spoke and he had kind of known that it hurt her to watch him avoid her the way that he did. He did try to avoid her without being seen but it hadn’t always been possible. Frankly, they were both hurting over this. She hurt seeing him distance himself and he hurt just seeing her and knowing he couldn’t be with her. He also knew that none of this was really Ellior’s fault but that didn’t change that he was in the middle of all of this and screwing it all up. He had known beforehand that he wouldn’t be able to remain with Selenity as a couple… but the abrupt engagement had kind of put a knife in their relationship and cut it to pieces a lot sooner than he believed either of them expected. He was a little more at ease once she had relaxed enough to wrap her arms around him as well and even more so hearing her say that she loved him too. He had known that she still loved him but that didn’t change the fact that hearing it made you feel better, just as he was sure that she had felt some relief hearing him say it to her. He continued to listen silently to her while she spoke and lifted a hand to the back of her gently when she buried her face into his shirt a little. He couldn’t help feeling a little bad for her position when she said that she felt like everyone else was making the decisions in her life and she was just along for the ride. He had kind of done that to her as well… He had told her to try and make things work with Ellior because it was kind of impossible for them to be together. It wasn’t exactly the same thing as what her father had done… but it was close enough he supposed. He was happy hearing that she wanted to be with him, but at the same time he felt a little guilt. She really didn’t need to be with someone like him… she needed to be with someone like Ellior… but regardless he was still happy to hear it. He remained quiet after she had finished speaking and said that she didn’t want anything to happen to him and didn’t want anyone else to be hurt because of her. “…It will be alright.” He said after a moment. “Everything will work itself out, somehow.” He said as reassuringly as he could. He did believe that things would work themselves out… he just had no idea how things would be after they were worked out. “Nothing’s going to happen to me.” He assured her. He believed nothing would happen to him, he honestly did but of course he couldn’t be one hundred percent sure; there would always be a slight worry in the back of his mind. But he did believe at that present moment in time that nothing was going to happen to him. “…I can’t honestly promise that no one else will be harmed…” He started quietly. “…But everyone will do their best to keep people safe, you know that.” He told her. He had no idea who was behind what happened to Ellior… and he didn’t know how many more people might be capable of what the one guy did… which was why he couldn’t really say. He would have loved to have been able to reassure her completely that no one would be hurt… but no one could completely reassure her of that, not even Ishta, he feared. “…I’m sorry that today has turned out so rotten for you.” He told her sincerely and gently kissed the top of her head.

Selenity shut her eyes again while she rested against Kyran. She did not see how things were going to work themselves out in this situation...at least not in a way that was going to benefit either of them. She tried to tighten her grip on Kyran's middle when he told her that nothing was going to happen to him. Right now...she was sure he was right, simply because no one knew. So long as no one knew...he was safe. Unfortunately...that only meant that they would have to continue avoiding one another just as they had been up until now. She slowly started to sit up away from Kyran when he told her that he could not promise that no one else would be hurt and then lowered her tear stained eyes when he added that everyone would do their best to keep people safe. After a moment, she merely shook her head a little and then lowered her eyes again and took a deep breath. she didn't move until she felt Kyran press his lips to the top of her head, and still did not move until he had pulled away. "...It doesn't matter now...," she said quietly. "...I just want everyone to be alright." She leaned back against Kyran once again and closed her eyes for a few moments. "...I feel terrible...for everything that happened tonight.... I know not all of it was my fault but...even still it's just...Ellior was poisoned because of his engagement to me...and Nero was caught up in this mess because I asked him to come to that stupid party, even though he thought it was a bad idea." She shook her head again slightly and tried to bury her face into Kyran's shoulder again. "...I can't stop seeing how bad Nero looked when I got down there...and how scared Ellior was when he woke up.... He looked so terrified...and he latched onto anyone that got close to him like he was afraid we were all going to abandon him or something...and he still looked like he was in so much pain...." She shook her head again as if trying to fling the images from her mind again and then settled back against Kyran once again, wrapping her arms around him a little more securely. "...I don't want to be alone though all of this anymore...," she told him quietly. She had, more or less been left alone once Kyran had decided to distance himself from her. She had no one else that she could talk to as openly as she talked to him. Even with Ishta she had to be careful what she said. At least for tonight...she didn't think she could stand being alone any longer.

Kyran really did feel bad that Selenity’s birthday had turned out the way that it had. Not only had her ‘fiancé’ been seriously poisoned but someone she considered a friend had apparently been beaten up pretty badly. He could see how those things weighed on her mind but at least one of them really didn’t need to. He sighed quietly and looked down at her. “Nero’s going to be fine, you know that.” He told her. “You don’t need to worry about him like you are.” He continued. “And besides, he wouldn’t like you concerning yourself with him anyway.” He added. Knowing Nero it would just aggravate him that Selenity was concerned where he was not. He hadn’t seen the state Nero was in but he imagined that it didn’t concern Nero that badly if he had turned down the offer to be healed more than once. He also thought that she needn’t worry about how Nero got beaten up. Ishta would look into that and take care of it and besides… it wasn’t Selenity’s place to make the people in this territory like dark dragons. They were going to harbor their own ill feelings regardless of whatever their Princess said… it was just a matter of Selenity coming to terms with it. As for Ellior… well… he knew exactly what she was talking about when it came to him because he’d done nearly the same thing to him when he had first been poisoned. “…Ellior was pretty much the same way when we found him.” He added quietly. “…After I sent Nanashi to find Ishta …well, he didn’t want to be left unattended…” He didn’t care to admit that he had been one of the ones who had found Ellior or allude to that he had been the one with Ellior up until the healers were helping him… but he understood what she was talking about and simply commented on it. He sighed quietly, preparing to say something else that he didn’t completely care to. “…Ellior will be alright. I’m sure that he’ll make it out of this just fine.” He said in an attempt to make her feel better. “Everyone, yourself and Celestine included are doing everything you can think of for him. Have a little faith.” He added. He didn’t wish death upon the guy… but it felt wrong to be trying to make her feel better about Ellior… He couldn’t help but try to hold her closer and more tightly after she had said that she didn’t want to alone through everything anymore. He wished that he could do something about that but it was impossible for him to constantly be at her side while they were in the palace. That thought reminded him of what he had been carrying in his pocket all night. He had thought he would just give it to someone else to give to her… primarily because he didn’t expect to find himself where he was right now. He removed one arm from around her and started to fish into his pocket for that velveteen bag that he knew so well. He removed it from his pocket carefully and lifted it up so that he could hand it to her. “…I know it isn’t much and this may not be the best time…” He started. “…But happy birthday.” The content of the velveteen bag was a single necklace, a hand-made one at that… or at least the pendant was. The necklace was intended to be a drop necklace so the chain that the pendant was on was long and silver with a circular ring at one end, just big enough for the pendant itself to fit through with the pendant at the other end of the silver chain. The pendant was a piece of crystal-like material that looked as if it were made in several shades of blue. The crystal itself had been hand forged from a larger piece and looked slightly amateurish but aside from that it looked good. If turned just right in the light one would even be able to see that there had been something etched into the inside of the crystal… though, if you didn’t know how to read the thunder clan’s language you wouldn’t know what it said. The crystal itself was connected to the end of the silver chain by a silver clasp-like material that wrapped and almost spiraled around the top of the crystal like it was holding onto it for dear life.

Selenity sighed quietly herself when Kyran started trying to reassure her that Nero was going to be fine. "...It never should have happened in the first place...," she said quietly. She almost smiled a little when Kyran pointed out that Nero would not like her worrying over him, anyway. "...I know...he's already yelled at me for it once...," she said quietly. She started to raise her head again when Kyran started to tell her that Ellior had been the same when they had found him. Her ears laid back just a little when he told her that Ellior had not wanted to be left unattended once Nanashi had gone to find Ishta. She had already assumed that he must have been the one to find Ellior. After all, he, Nanashi, and LaRae were the only ones who were not in the room at the time. She finally started to pull her arms back from Kyran a little, though she only moved them to rest over his arms. "...You stayed with him?" she asked softly, just to confirm her suspicion. She sighed softly when he told her to have a little faith that Ellior would be alright. "...I am trying...," she told him quietly, "...I just...I do not want him to die.... I would not wish such a horrible death on anyone, especially someone like him." She closed her eyes once again and nuzzled a little closer to Kyran when he pulled her closer and tightened his grip on her. It felt nice to be in his arms again, even though right now it still felt wrong somehow. As much as she wanted to be here with Kyran, she still felt as though she should be sitting with Ellior in case he woke up again. She felt him move one of his arms away from her, but she did not bother opening her eyes, at least not until he had spoken again. She opened her eyes again and sat back slowly, looking at the small bag he was offering her. He raised her hand to her eyes to wipe them clean before she reached for the bag and held it in her hand for a moment. After a few seconds, she pulled open the draw string and turned it over in her hand carefully, dumping it's contents into her palm. She stared down at the necklace in mild wonder before she laid aside the bag and held it up. "...It's...beautiful," she told him quietly. She could tell that the item was not something that had been purchased here, or at least it had not been made here by any jeweler she could think off. "...Did you make this for me?" she asked him as she looked up at him for a moment. She did not really wait for an answer before she was sliding the chain down so that it would fit over her head. She carefully slipped it over her horns and down around her neck where she adjusted it so that it hung just above her chest and then held the pendant in her hand to look it over. She blinked when she saw the engraving in the side, though she could not make out what it said. "...What does it say?" she asked him as she turned her gaze back up to his face. She assumed that he must have written it, because it was not in a language that she understood how to read.

Kyran merely nodded his head a little when Selenity had asked if he had stayed with Ellior. He had stayed with him because no one else could and deep down he didn’t really regret doing so, in fact he was kind of glad that he had. Ellior had looked really scared and in pain at the time so he would have hated himself if he hadn’t stayed. He didn’t wish that sort of horrible death on someone like Ellior either. He may have disliked the guy for being chosen to become engaged to Selenity… but he didn’t wish death on the guy. That type of punishment was a little much, even in his book and he had a right to want the guy dead considering he actually loved Selenity and the feeling was mutual. He watched Selenity silently once she had taken the velveteen bag from him and started to open it. He smiled slightly when she wound up asking him if he had made it for her. “…Yeah, I’ve spent the last few days working on it…” He told her quietly while he watched her putting it on. The necklace itself could be worn several ways, mostly because the chain was as long as it was. If adjusted the right way the pendant itself could easily be hidden beneath clothes while it hung low on the chest or wrapped around the neck a twice or more and worn as a choker. It really just depended on how it was adjusted. He had partially thought of the drop necklace for the sake that the pendant could be hidden beneath the tops of dresses or shirts if it weren’t quite presentable enough for dressy occasions but she still wanted to wear it. The chain itself was pretty as a standalone statement, he had picked it out for that purpose… just in case. He continued to stare down at her while she inspected the pendant and smiled a little once again when she rather quickly noticed the engraving. “…It’s my clan’s symbol for love.” He told her quietly in response to her question. He hadn’t known what else he could have etched into the crystal… or well… he had plenty he could have picked from but only so much would fit in the crystal. He had chosen something simple and easy enough to accomplish without taking away from the prettiness of the crystal itself. Not to mention he didn’t want it to be completely noticeable until you were right up on the necklace that there was something written there. A small part of him was almost ashamed of even having written that there because it was almost a dead giveaway who had made it if you could read his clan’s language and knew who was close to her that was a thunder dragon. But then… at the same time he was happy to know that she’d always have something from him that all but had his name written all over it. “…I can’t always be with you while we’re here.” He started. “…but maybe that will give you some comfort or at least not make you feel so alone.” He told her earnestly.

Selenity was thankful for Kyran for staying with Ellior. Not only had he gotten him help, but she was sure that Ellior had felt just a little better having someone there. She could understand why the poor guy was so frightened and why he did not want to be left alone. No one would want to suffer that way only to die completely alone. She smiled at him a little when he told her that he had spent the last few days making the necklace for her. "...It really is beautiful," she told him quietly. She did like it. It was not a flawless piece of craftsmanship, and certainly did not look terribly expensive like most of the jewelry that she wore, but it was still lovely, and it was her new favorite piece of jewelry. Someone was going to have to pry it from her neck if they wanted her out of it. Her smile widened a little when he told her that the symbol was her clan's symbol for love and she looked back down to the small gem before lowering it back to her chest and pressing it tenderly over her heart. Her cheeks flushed just a little when he told her that the necklace might give her some comfort. "...I will never take it off," she told him quietly. After a moment she lowered her hand from her chest and leaned close to him again, this time raising her arms to wrap around his neck tightly. "...Thank you, Kyran," she whispered quietly as she gave him a tight squeeze. After a few minutes she pulled back and then leaned in carefully to press her lips against his lovingly while she moved her hand to trace her fingers along the side of his face. "I love you," she told him again quietly as she started to pull away from him once again. She looked up into his eyes for a few moments before she sighed softly and lowered her head a little. "...We should probably get back inside...," she told him quietly, with a hint of reluctance in her voice. "...If he wakes up again, he will miss us." She looked back up to him again for a moment and then reached to grasp his hands gently. "...I thought that you were the one who had stayed with him...," she told him quietly, "...he called for you as soon as he opened his eyes...." She absently ran her thumbs lightly over the back of Kyran's hands gently. "...I told him that I would stay...but I believe he would like it...if you would stay with him as well," she told him quietly. "...I know that I am asking for a lot...but for tonight at least...he needs someone to stay with him. He is still frightened and alone...and obviously the person who should be sitting by his bed has no intention of being there for him. Someone has to be...." She leaned close to him again and gave him a gently nuzzle before she finally started to get to her feet. "...It is alright if you cannot stay," she told him quietly. She was not going to force him to stay if it really was too hard for him. She was sure she would be alright by herself, even if she did want him to stay with her.

Kyran was glad to hear and see that Selenity liked the necklace as much as she appeared to. He had kind of worried that it might not be good enough for her considering his lack of professional jewelry making skills. He couldn’t help but smile a little more comfortably after she said that she would never take it off. He didn’t really mind if she took it off, but it did stroke his pride a little to hear her say that. He automatically slipped his free arm back around her once she had put her arms around his neck. “You’re welcome.” He responded simply when she thanked him. He tightened his hold on her slightly when she took initiative and kissed him this time. He continued to hold onto her somewhat tightly as she pulled away and said that she loved him. He’d be lying if hearing her say that didn’t make his heart swell. “I love you, too.” He responded with ease. He watched her silently as she sighed and lowered her head. He hadn’t entirely expected to hear what she had to say next, partially because he was a little caught up in how nice these past few minutes had been… at least once things had aired out a little. In the back of his mind though, he was aware that even with as nice as this had been it was still going to hurt later but he didn’t focus on that too much right now. He slowly loosened his grip on her until he wasn’t really holding her much at all. He continued to listen to her as she spoke but it was probably obvious there was a little disappointment in his eyes. He would have much rather been here with her for a few more minutes than go back to Ellior, as bad as that sounded. He wasn’t sure what he felt when she told him that Ellior had called for him as soon as his eyes had opened. He remained quiet while he listened to her and then sighed quietly himself once she was finished. Of course he wasn’t thrilled with the idea of sitting with Ellior, especially with her right there too… but she had managed to pull at his heart strings by telling him that Ellior had called for him first. It was kind of hard to pull away from that… and he really wished she hadn’t told him something like that. “…I guess I’ll stick around …and see how it goes.” He said in an almost defeated tone. If it was going to be too hard for him or just too much to handle… he was going to have to leave, end of story. “…But I think I should probably get Celestine back upstairs first.” He said quietly as he started to get to his feet. Of course about the time he said that and had gotten to his feet he started to pat his shoulders, noticing that Celestine wasn’t there any longer. That of course lead him to start looking around at the ground, thinking if he fell that was where he must have gone. He was a little annoyed with himself for forgetting Celestine up until now which only lead him to curse in his own language while he almost frantically looked around the somewhat small area he and Selenity had been in. He couldn’t believe he’d lost Celestine… and he hadn’t even felt when he’d lost him…

Selenity could definitely see the disappointment in Kyran's face, and the look was mirrored in her own expression. However, she did realize that they needed to get back. "I'm sorry...," she apologized to him softly as she stared into his face. She remained quiet once he had told her that he would stick around and see how it went. "...Thank you," she told him quietly, "...I know it is asking a lot...." She nodded her head a little when she told him that he should probably take Celestine back upstairs first. "Yes, of course," she replied understandingly. She glanced around for a moment once Kyran realized that Celestine was no longer sitting on his shoulder. Of course, she did not see Celestine anywhere nearby. "Where did he go?" she asked, not really expecting an answer seeing as Kyran obviously had no idea himself. She vaguely remembered seeing a movement not long after Kyran had kissed her, but she had not focused on it enough to really think about it, although that did cause her to look out into the garden. She squinted her eyes a little as she looked out into the garden, partially because the small snake-like creature would be hard to spot from back here. She did remember that Celestine was found in a tree more often than not when they were traveling, so she began scanning the trees. At first, she really didn't see anything, but after taking a few steps toward the garden, she leaned forward and narrowed her eyes a bit. "...Is...that him?" she asked uncertainly. There was something small wrapped around one of the tree branches nearby. However, given that the tree's bark was nearly white and Celestine's scales were such a pale shade of green, he very nearly blended in with the bark.
Celestine had nestled himself quite comfortably on one of the lower branches of the tree he had landed in. Of course, with Kyran's height, he was probably only at chest level. His tail was wrapped securely around the branch that he was nestled on, and his coils were stretched across a break fork in the branch while his head was resting across one of his own coils. His wings were still folded neatly against his back and his eyes were closed. His head was still facing away from the two of them, but while they were talking, he was finally fallen asleep. He was exhausted after both using his healing magic on Nero...and Kanone and Reyes, even though they did not necessarily need healed, and after giving the healers a pint of his blood. He wanted to rest, and after he had gotten comfortable, it hadn't taken him long to fall asleep, even if it was stretched across a tree branch. |
Kyran was still looking around on the ground for Celestine when he heard Selenity asking where Celestine had gone. He cursed again in his own language quietly the longer he looked around and couldn’t find Celestine. There weren’t a whole lot of places that he thought he could’ve gotten away to, but then he hadn’t thought Celestine had purposely moved himself. He had first thought that maybe he had fallen down and then slithered off somewhere… or something. He was almost certain that Celestine wasn’t anywhere on the ground right around where they had been… and he was starting to think that maybe he had fallen off sooner than that. Maybe he was still inside the palace somewhere? He couldn’t remember… He was beginning to look a little frustrated by the time heard Selenity ask if that was him. He immediately looked a little hopeful and started to glance in the direction that she had been looking in. Of course he wasn’t totally sure what she was looking at but he assumed she meant the tree, perhaps. He couldn’t see well enough from where he was, just as she couldn’t. “…I’m not sure.” He admitted. “I’ll go take a look though…” He said with a little uncertainty himself. He didn’t wait for a response from Selenity before he started walking out from where they were and towards the tree she had been looking at. The closer he got the easier it was to see and the more clear it became that Celestine was indeed in the tree. Once he reached the tree he paused and stared down at Celestine for a few moments, noticing that he must have fallen asleep. Celestine had been tired to begin with so he supposed he wasn’t that surprised to find him asleep. He didn’t bother to open his mouth and tell Selenity that she was right and he was here; he didn’t want to wake him. Although… removing him from the tree might very well do that. He sighed quietly and carefully reached out with both hands to pick him up from the branch. He slowly and cautiously removed Celestine’s tail from around the branch and gently shifted him from the tree branch into his hand, similarly to how he had first been. He set his tail close to his wrist on the off chance that it might wrap itself around automatically. He trusted himself not to drop Celestine but it would be easier to walk if he didn’t have to worry about the possibility of him toppling over and out of his hand. Once he had Celestine removed from the tree he slowly started to make his way back over to Selenity so that they could start heading back inside.
|
Celestine did not move at all as Kyran approached him, nor did he seem to realize when Kyran had come near him. At this point, he was dead to the world...for the most part. The wild creature in him was still on alert, even though he was sleeping, but he had no idea that Kyran was near him. As soon as Kyran touched him, his body gave an involuntary startled jerk and his eyes snapped open as he let out a tiny cry of surprise. However, as soon as he remembered where he was, he calmed down and allowed Kyran to take him. He looked up at him for a moment tiredly and then wrapped his tail around his wrist, through his grip was not as tight as it had been before. He settled back down in Kyran's hand and closed his eyes again, nuzzling his somewhat fuzzy head into Kyran's warm palm. His tiny body was definitely chilly now, given the night air near the lake, but he did not seem to mind it. Within moments, his breathing had slowed again and he grew still once more.
Selenity could tell that Kyran was upset that he could not find Celestine anywhere. She was a bit concerned herself, given his current size. A fall from Kyran's shoulder very easily could hurt him. She nodded slightly once Kyran agreed to go see what it was that she had spotted and she sighed in relief when she saw him taking it down. It must have been him. She stood there quietly, waiting for Kyran to return before she spoke. Her eyes went down to his hand and she smiled weakly before reaching over to gently stroke Celestine's wing. This time, he did not even flinch to the touch, merely nuzzled into Kyran's hand a little more than he already had. "...Poor thing, he looks so exhausted...," she commented quietly. She raised her eyes back to Kyran's face again and then moved a little closer to him and tiptoed to give him one more kiss on the cheek before they had to go back inside. "...You take such good care of everyone...," she told him quietly with a tender smile before she lowered her heels back to the cool ground. With that, she turned and started to open the door for him, since one of his hands was full. "...Go ahead and take him back to his room. I will wait here...," she told him quietly. |
Kyran wasn’t too startled by Celestine jerking and opening his eyes like he did when he touched him. Honestly, he would have been more surprised if he hadn’t responded that way. Once he had made it back over to Selenity he watched as she touched Celestine and then nodded his head a little when she said that he looked exhausted. He agreed easily. He was fully prepared to start heading inside after Selenity had seen Celestine so he was a little surprised that she got close and kissed his cheek. He smiled slightly and shook his head a little when she added that he took such good care of everyone. In his opinion he wasn’t doing anything that another person wouldn’t do… well, another person that knew everyone involved. He didn’t bother to argue the comment, he merely took it in silence with a small smile and then proceeded towards the door seeing as she had opened it for him. He stepped through and glanced back to her briefly when she said that she would wait here. “I shouldn’t be too long; you should probably go back inside and check on Ellior.” He told her quietly. As much as he wouldn’t mind a little more alone time with her… it was probably best that she head back into the infirmary. It was a little chilly out and Ellior may have woken up for all they knew. “I’ll just drop him off with Kanone and hurry back.” He added and turned so that he could continue down the hallway to the main hall so that he could get to the stairs that lead up to the bedrooms they had been staying in. He didn’t really wait for much of a response out of Selenity, partially because he really did want to hurry and get back to her.
Once he had cleared the smaller hallway and had gotten to the main one he retraced his steps and headed straight back to the floor with the rooms they had been using. He was moving at a quick clip but he was also being very cautious of Celestine since he didn’t want to drop him. Once he made it back to the floor with the bedrooms he slowed his pace more to a normal walk than his brisker pace. He knew Ishta was upstairs and a small part of him didn’t want to alarm her or anything by rushing around. He went straight for the room he had originally been sharing with Celestine, momentarily nodding in acknowledgement to Ishta if she happened to look at him and then continued inside the room. He hadn’t bothered to knock or anything mostly because his stuff was still in the room so it was still his… and he also doubted that Kanone would mind that badly, especially given the circumstances. When he entered one of the first heads to turn in his direction was Nobu’s but aside from looking at him he ignored most everyone else and hurried over towards Celestine’s bed. He… wasn’t too sure where to put him but he figured on the bed was fine. Once he reached the bed he carefully uncurled Celestine’s tail from his wrist and very gently started to set him down on top of the pillow and then fended off Kyiri and the dogs if need be before he turned his attention to Kanone to see if he was even awake. He hadn’t checked for that when he came in… he had just been in a rush to get Celestine upstairs and somewhere comfortable that he hadn’t really paid much attention to anyone else. |
Selenity nodded her head slightly when Kyran told her to go back to the infirmary and wait for him there. That...had been her intention, although she supposed that it did sound like she intended to wait outside of it. She watched for a few moments as Kyran started to hurry down the hallway, and as soon as he was out of sight, she slipped back into the infirmary quietly. One of the healers looked up to acknowledge her, but no one said anything about her reappearance, or her red, puffy eyes. She did not bother to speak to anyone int he room and simply made her way back over to Ellior's bed and looked down at him. He was still sound asleep, thankfully. For now at least, the sedatives seemed to be helping to keep him asleep, and he looked no worse than he had when they had left him. She sighed softly when she spotted Celestine's clothes still hanging over the edge of the bed. Someone would have to run those back up to him later.... Before she took a seat by the bed, she found another chair to sit beside hers near the bed. Once she had gotten Kyran a chair, she sat down carefully and reached over to take Ellior's hand once again. She left the chair closest to the head of the bed open for Kyran since Kyran was clearly the one that Ellior was looking for the first time that he'd woken up. Kyran would be the first thing he saw if he woke up again before he had to leave.
Kanone had long since taken off his fancy top and let it fall crumpled to the floor. Unfortunately, he hadn't thought to bring any change of clothes with him from his room, and he didn't really want to bother Nero by going back, so he simply kept the pants on and tossed his shoes to the floor. He was in bed, and he was asleep up until the door opened and Kyran started walking across the room, though it was Kyiri bounding off of his bed and using his abdomen for a launching pad that really woke him up. He opened his eyes groggily and watched for a moment as Kyiri dove up onto Celestine's bed and Kyran started batting her away from the pillow. "...Huh...?" he grumbled tiredly before he started to set himself up on his elbows tiredly. He rubbed his eyes for a moment, and then looked up at Kyran when he noticed him looking at him. "...What's up?" he asked tiredly, obviously having not paid the least bit of attention to what he had set on the pillow. |
Kyran continued to keep an eye on Kyiri while he had looked to see if Kanone was awake. He didn’t particularly want to stand there and fight the cat all day but for the time being he would, at least until Kanone was able to do something about her. He stared at Kanone for a moment when he asked what was up, clearly having not noticed Celestine. He sighed softly. “You’re probably going to have to keep Kyiri off of your cousin.” He started firstly. “After he gave blood he well… he turned into that…” He said as he pointed at the pillow and the small dragon on it. “He’s extremely tired… so I don’t think he’s going to feel like changing back right now…” He told him quietly. After he said that he gently smacked his palm off his forehead. “…and …I forgot his clothes…” He said, sounding a little exasperated with himself. “…I’ll have to bring those up when I come back upstairs…” He added with a slight shake of his head.
|
Kanone blinked tiredly when Kyran told him that he was going to have to keep Kyiri off of his cousin and then looked at the pillow. He blinked when Kyran told him that he had turned into that after giving blood. "Wow, what did you do to him?" he asked with a hint of a grin. "I mean...he's done that before, but it's usually been after someone embarrassed the living daylights out of him." After a moment, he finally hauled his ass out of the bed and walked across the room to look down at the pillow. "Kyiri, go torment Nobu or something," he told the cat as he picked her up and dropped her off of the bed. "Better yet, go lay down." He sighed when the cat immediately jumped right back up onto the bed and laid down obediently...on the pillow right next to Celestine. He let out an exasperated sigh and then threw up his hands. "Fine, be a pillow," he said simply before he turned his attention back over to Kyran again. "...It's fine, he'll change back when he wakes up, and if he wakes up before you come back, he's got more clothes in here," he pointed out simply. "...Don't worry...he'll be fine," he said simply before he sat down on the edge of the bed. He reached over to Celestine and gently ran his hand along the silky fur that trailed down the back of his spine. He smiled as Celestine nuzzled into the pillow a little more and began emitting a quiet, purring sound from somewhere deep him his throat. "He gets embarrassed pretty easy...but he can't seem to help changing like this when he's really worn out or sick and someone picks at him." Overall, Kanone seemed rather amused that Celestine had 'poofed' (as he liked to call it), on Kyran, but at the same time he did seem to be taking his watch position seriously enough. He continued to gently stroke Celestine's back for a while, which was something that Celestine apparently was enjoying and appeared to be something Kanone had known to do from the beginning. He looked over to Kyiri when she reached over to smack him with a paw and then sighed and reached over to ruffle her fur. "I'll put you outside," he warned her, which immediately caused her to put both paws beneath her and curl her tails around her back side innocently. "...That's better."

Kyran glanced back to Celestine momentarily when Kanone asked what he had done to him and said that Celestine usually only did that under certain circumstances. He sighed quietly. “He thought it wise to stand up and move not long after giving as much blood as he did and he started to fall.” He paused. “I caught him and kept him from doing something that stupid again. Next thing I knew he was like that in my lap.” He answered rather matter-of-factly. He had picked up on Kanone’s slight humor at the situation but ignored it and merely answered the question that he probably hadn’t needed to. He continued to stand there for a few moments watching Kanone try to deal with Kyiri and ultimately give up and let her somewhat have her way. He gave a slight nod of his head when Kanone told him it was fine about the clothes. “I’ll still run them up when I come back upstairs.” He told him. Once it looked like Kanone had things under control he started to step away from the beds and started to edge back towards the door to leave. “…Sorry to wake you up over this.” He told him. “…But since you’re up.” He paused. “They did manage to give Ellior an antidote with Celestine’s blood. We’re just waiting to see if it works.” He told him as an update, in case he was interested. He knew that Celestine would be able to tell him but right now Celestine was too far tired to do such a thing. He put his hand on the doorknob and started to open the door. “I’ll be more quiet when I come in later since I’m not sure when I’ll be back up here.” He told him and slipped out the door if Kanone had nothing more to say to him.

Kanone laughed when Kyran told him what he had done to set Celestine off and then shook his head a little. "Yeah, that'd do it," he replied simply. He didn't know what made Celestine think he was going to get up and walk so soon after having blood taken, but...then again, he supposed Celestine had never really done that before. "That's fine," he told Kyran simply when he told him that he would bring the clothes up later on. He turned his head a little when he noticed that Kyran was moving back to the door and stared after him for a moment. "It's alright," he replied simply, "I don't mind. ...I was kind of worried about him, anyway." He listened quietly, his expression very serious when Kyran started to tell him that they had managed to give Ellior an antidote. "...That's good. I hope it works...," he said quietly. That...was half true. He hoped that the antidote worked...in the sense that he hoped that Ellior lived, but at the same time, part of him hoped that Celestine's blood proved to be useless for his cousin's safety. He agreed with Nero on one thing, there was always someone, somewhere, who wouldn't care to kill Celestine for his blood if they wanted to try. He looked back to Kyran again when he told him that he would be more quiet when he returned. "...Well, no promises I'll still be awake," he told him with a half smile, "...So goodnight." As soon as Kyran had left the room he sighed and looked down to Kyiri again. "...Behave...Celestine is not feeling well, so don't try to play with him," he warned her. "I know you understand me, so don't try being cute, either." He sighed again when Kyiri mewed at him and then nuzzled against Celestine. After a moment, he looked over to the two canines and huffed quietly. "...I have a feeling it's going to be a long night...," he commented simply before he took to stroking Celestine's back again gently. "It's okay if you two want to come over...just don't...you know, jump on him or anything. You may snap him like a twig."
