Aamori didn't follow after Celestine right away. She'd stood still half debating even going into the kitchen. She couldn't help but be a little wary of being too close to Nero. She was starting to act like a small child who got hurt because they fell off their bike for the first time; Then was afraid to go near it again. She sighed softly when she noticed Celestine look back at her and then proceeded to take a few steps closer to him. She knew she had no reason to be acting the way she was, it was petty and childish behavior. Once she made it into the kitchen she couldn't help but eye the food; She smell coming from the pot made her mouth water. She knew right away that it had fish in it which managed to bring a small smile to her face. For a moment she'd forgotten that Nero was even in the room and walked right past Celestine and over to Minako. She stood next to Minako and eyed the pot again before breaking down and asking for some. "Minako... can I have some of that?" She said quietly, trying again not to talk too much around all of them. Her voice after all was still distorted by an echo.
Nero glanced up briefly from the bowl of food and looked over at Celestine when he'd asked what 'thing' was. He turned his attention back to the food and ate a little more. "...An animal..." He said sarcastically. He was of course more interested in eating his food, then talking about Nobu again. Minako looked up again when more people came into the kitchen. She at least knew the name of one of them, Aamori. But she wasn't sure of the other girl's name. She quirked a brow at first when she heard the question about something going upstairs. It took her a moment but she realised that they must have been curious about Nobu. She smiled softly. "That animal..." She started, half glaring at Nero. "Was Nobu." She paused and started to grab another bowl and fix something to eat for Aamori. "Nobu is Kyran's pet. I'm not sure what species he is, but he looks like a giant fox with three tails and no eyes. Though he acts like a dog. So I suppose..." She started to hand the bowl over to Aamori once it was full. "...You could just call him a dog for now... or a fox..." She smiled softly once Aamori had the bowl and turned to look at the other she'd yet to be introduced to. "Oh... By the way, my names Minako. I'm Kyran's little sister." She stated with a pleasant smile. Kyran smiled again when she came closer and watched as she set the tray down in his lap. His eyes fell rather quickly to the food before him. His stomach growled when he smelt the food and of course Nobu had sat up and rested his head on the edge of the bed. Kyran happened to glance over and push Nobu's head off the side of the bed and gave a soft laugh. "Apparently someone else is hungry." He stated looking at Nobu. "Go on now, Minako has a job for you. I'm sure she'll give you something nice to eat once you get back. Now hurry up Nobu." He said ushering the fox out of the room. Nobu sat up and did as he was told immediately. He stood for a moment next to the bed but left quietly and started to head down the stairs once out of Kyran's room. Kyran turned his attention back to Hikari once Nobu was gone. "I think I'm feeling alright." He said simply. He by this time couldn't hold back anymore and had to start eating. He paused for a moment. "...I didn't mean to worry anyone, especially you." He lowered his eyes back to his bowl and continued to eat, rather quickly. LaRae sighed when she heard him say she needed to stay off of her ankle. "...That's easier said then done..." She said quietly. She moved with him back towards the room, turning her head just in time to see something large and purple heading out of Kyran's room and down the stairs. She blinked a couple times and couldn't believe that she'd just seen what she had. She looked back towards Nanashi, awestruck. "...You were being serious..." She mumbled nearly in disbelief. She wanted to believe that her eyes were playing tricks on her. She shook her head softly. |
Celestine gave Nero a look and rolled his eyes at his sarcastic answer. "I believe I am smart enough to figure that much out." he said irritably. "Or do I have to be so specific as to say 'what kind of animal was that running up the stairs' before you can understand me?" Celestine had absolutely not problem getting snippy with Nero. He wasn't afraid of him like most of the others were. Once Minako started into her explanation he just turned completely away from Nero, deciding to just go back to pretending he wasn't even in the area like he usually did. He sighed as he listened to her go on about what the animal was. "...Calling it a canine would solve the issue...they're both in the same family." he said simply. After she introduced herself he nodded slightly. "...I see." he said simply, then guess that she was offering up that information to get his name. "My name is Celestine."
Hikari smiled as she watched Nobu leave and then looked back to Kyran when he apologized. "...It isn't your fault." she said softly, "No need to apologize." She watched him eat for a few moments and then giggled softly. "Well being hurt hasn't done much to your appetite at least." she mused. She made a face when her own stomach grumbled a little. She hadn't eaten last night before she went to bed, but she didn't want to go back downstairs just yet. "Do you need anything else?" she asked softly. Nanashi looked at her and shook his head, "...It's pretty easily done if you will just stay still for a while and stop getting up and walking on it." he said simply. "we can't leave here until Kyran is better anyway, so there's no reason you can't rest for a while." He blinked when she looked down the hall, apparently seeing Nobu. "...You thought I was lying?" he asked as he went on into the room. It was a rare even when Nanashi joked. Normally he meant everything that he said and he took just about everything seriously. |
Aamori took the bowl from Minako before she'd even fully handed it over to her. She noticed a spoon in the strainer by the sink and snatched it up before turning away from Minako. She stopped and looked back over her shoulder at her and smiled slightly. "...If you don't mind I'm going to go eat in the other room." Then she turned back and walked past Celestine again and headed into the living room. Once there she took a seat on the floor and put her back against the wall, practically trying to become part of the rooms decor. She lifted her eyes for a moment when she heard something coming down the stairs, though this time it was much quieter. Her eyes widened slightly when she saw Nobu. The only thing that came to mind was 'What a strange... creature...' She stared at the blind creature as it made it's way down the stairs, past her and into the kitchen. Once the room was clear again she gave a soft sigh and started to eat.
Minako merely nodded when she heard Aamori say she was going in the other room. After what happened before she wasn't surprised that she didn't want to be in the same room as Nero. She looked back to Celestine. "Yes, I suppose calling him a canine would suffice." Her eyes dropped down when she noticed Nobu behind Celestine, just standing there as if he was waiting for Celestine to get out of his way. Minako shook her head softly. "Nobu, come here. I've got an important job for you." She knelt down and motioned for him to come around Celestine. Nobu continued to stand there for a moment before doing as he was told. He walked around the dragon and right up to Minako. She smiled softly and patted Nobu's head. "Nobu, I need you to go and bring back Uncle Taro." She started to stand up; As she did so Nobu had already started to head for the front door. He walked only until he got to the door then jumped up and pressed his paw against the handle pushing the door open and exiting the house. Once outside he'd started to run off, in mere seconds vanishing from sight leaving nothing more then a cloud of dirt in his wake. Minako smiled again and looked back at Celestine after Nobu was gone. "I do have one question for you." She started. "I'll be blunt, so please take no offense in this... But are you a boy or a girl?" Kyran continued to eat while she spoke, though he stopped when he heard her stomach. He smiled softly and set the spoon down in the bowl and then sliding the bowl across the tray closer to her. He hadn't finished it just yet, there was quite a bit in the bowl to begin with. "Here, it's rude of me to have been eating in front of you." He paused and smiled, then reached for the glass of water. "Feel free to finish it off, and don't try telling me you're not hungry either." He said with a slight chuckle. He took a sip from the glass of water and then set it back down on the tray too then shook his head softly. "No thank you, this was plenty." LaRae pushed herself away from Nanashi gently once they were back in the room and hobbled over to the bed and sat down on her own. She glanced over at him and sighed softly. "I'm not used to being allowed to just rest..." She said quietly. "...You I'm sure can understand that... Not to mention I'm so used to doing everything myself." Now that she was sitting down on the bed she lifted her leg up and rested it on her thigh, pulling back the bottom of her pant leg to rub her ankle gently. She glanced over at Nanashi and shook her head slightly. "...What was I supposed to think Nanashi? I mean, if I came to you and described that thing would you believe a word I was saying? Especially if you'd never heard of such a creature before?" |
Celestine watched as Aamori got everything and left the room and then shook his head, side glancing at Nero again after she was gone, though he looked away so fast that it'd be hard to notice that he'd even looked in the first place. He looked back to Minako again for a moment and then behind him to the creature she'd called Nobu. He looked him over for a moment without moving and then watched as he walked around him to Minako. He half wondered why she was sending for her uncle, but he guessed he could figure that out when he got there. He turned around silently to watch the creature leave the house, slightly amused bu its ability to open the door for itself and then turned back to Minako after he'd run off. His eyes rolled slightly at her question and he sighed, looking more annoyed than offended. "I am a boy." he said simply as if she should have been able to tell by his name.
Hikari looked down when Kyran pushed the bowl over to her and shook her head. "Kyran..." she smiled and pushed it back over to him, "No. There's more downstairs, I will get some when I go back down." she assured him. "I am not eating your food. ...But thank you for offering." she added, not wanting to seem ungrateful. She just didn't want to take his food when she was perfectly capable of going to get some herself and he was stuck in bed. She started to reach over to smooth his bead-head down and then stopped, looking at the bandage on her hand. Oh yeah...I was supposed to take that off... she thought. Oh well, she would get it after she got out of here. She didn't really want to remove it in front of Kyran. Nanashi just stopped when she pushed away from him and watched her go back to the bed. "...Yes." he answered simply when she asked if he would have believed her. He probably would have, there had to be many things in the world that he'd never heard of before. Just because he'd never seen it didn't mean that it didn't exist. He sighed and walked over to the bed, "...Just because you're not used to being allowed to rest doesn't mean that you can't... Enjoy it, don't argue about it." he said simply as he sat down. "I don't want you making it worse. You're going to twist it one of these times and it is going to just snap." |
Aamori barely lifted her head from the bowl of food when she caught sight of Nobu again. She watched for a moment as the canine opened the front door and left. For lack of better words that rather impressed her. She lowered her eyes and went back to eating. She was incredibly hungry which is why she seemed to get lost in the bowl. She finally stopped scarfing down the food and set the bowl on the floor next to her trying to stifle a small burp. She's finished off the food and couldn't help but laugh a little; It'd been awhile since she'd had a meal like that one. She was used to specially prepared meals, specific foods were used and they were always cooked a certain way. She sighed softly and rested her head back against the wall. If anything she was thankful for being able to have this time free of all the boundaries that she used to have back home.
Nero finished eating and set the spoon down in the bowl just before leaning back in the chair. He of course hadn't noticed Celestine look in his direction. He didn't bother looking over at either of them. In fact he was ignoring everything else going on around him. He crossed his arms over his chest and shut his eyes gently as he titled his head down slightly causing his hair to fall into his face. Minako nodded and looked away for a moment. "I do apologise for asking." She paused and brought her eyes back. "I wasn't sure and rather then embarrass myself later by calling you a 'She' I thought I'd ask." She leaned back on the counter again, briefly glancing over to Nero and then back to Celestine. "So... How is Aamori's arm?" She asked half for Nero's own benefit. "Uncle Taro is a Doctor, he could have a look at her arm if it's still bothering her." Kyran smiled softly. "Alright." Then let his finger tips grace the edge of the bowl for a moment after she pushed it back towards him before taking it completely and diving into the food again. After all the sleeping he'd done in the past few hours he was definitely hungry and not too concerned about the way he was eating, or the speed for that matter. He stopped for a moment and looked at Hikari's hand as she had looked at it herself. He hadn't remembered the bandage so of course he was curious. "...What's wrong with your hand?" He asked as he set the nearly empty bowl back down on the tray in his lap. LaRae watched as he walked over. "Well... then I'm sorry for not believing you... It was just... hard to believe." She continued to rub her ankle gently for a while longer. She didn't bother to keep her eyes on him when he sat down. "Resting is hard for me when I'm not tired though." She paused. "I get antsy... along with that creepy crawly feeling... then I just want to get up and move around." She sighed heavily. "So... resting and keeping my foot up is going to be difficult as long as I'm not sleepy." She started to look back over at him slightly. "Plus there is a whole house full of people... There's going to be stuff going on and I won't want to stay here by myself..." |
Celestine just nodded to Minako when she said that she just wanted to avoid embarrassing herself. He half wondered if there was anyone who could tell that he was a boy by observing the fact that he had no breasts. After she asked him how Aamori's arm was. He shook his head and sighed again. 'Why didn't you ask her while she was in here?' he thought openly. "I don't know. I guess still sore because she keeps rubbing it." he said simply, "I doubt she'll want a doctor's help for it." he said simply just going by what she'd said outside. She couldn't very well get used to pain if it was gone now could she.
Hikari looked up again when he asked about her hand. "Oh...nothing bad. I just put some ointment on the burn and wrapped it up so I wouldn't get the ointment everywhere. I need to take it off pretty soon." she said simply. She assumed that he remembered where she'd gotten the burn so she didn't see that further explanation was pretty pointless. She smiled at him again and shook her head, "Nothing to worry about." Nanashi shook his head at her excuses for not wanting to lay still. "...You wouldn't have to be by yourself..." he said softly, "...I would stay with you if you want... I have nothing else to do." he added. "...We still need to wrap your wings again." he reminded her after glancing over to her again. |
It didn't take long for Nobu to return; Then again he didn't have to go that far. Their Uncle lived in a smaller house by himself only a few miles from them. Nobu arrived back at the porch in nearly the same manor as he left; A giant puff of dust. He stood at the door for a moment before getting rather impatient. He was a talented creature but by no means could he open a door that had to be pulled open. He stood on his hind legs and pressed his large paws to the door and whined trying to get inside.
A few moments after Nobu arrived at the door a tall, older man in his mid forties landed in the yard behind him. His large purple wings flapping shut behind him. At first glance you wouldn't believe that he was related to Kyran or Minako. He was their mothers younger brother, which could explain the lack of family resemblance. He was tall, much like Kyran was though he had long black hair neatly pulled back into a ponytail; His hair still quite long even then, it fell just at the small of his back. Up close you'd notice that his hair had a slight purple sheen to it. He wore nothing special, merely black slacks with dark shoes and a black and white pin-stripped dress shirt unbuttoned over top a white t-shirt. By no means did he look like a doctor, but talent couldn't be judged by the exterior of the person wielding it. He was a very soft spoken man. "Nobu, hold on a moment. I'll open the door." He said with a soft hearted laugh as he walked up to the door and opened it letting Nobu run inside. He wore a soft smile even upon entering the house. He let the door shut quietly behind him. He was going to follow Nobu into the kitchen but his eyes stopped on the girl sitting on the floor. Of course one of the first things he noticed about her were the marks on her arm. He sighed softly. "...Sometimes being the only Doctor in the family just bites..." He said quietly as he approached the girl. "And here I thought Minako and Kyran wanted to visit..." He knelt down and reached out taking Aamori's arm and looking at it a bit more closely. "You don't appear to be hurt that badly, Miss." He said in a soft tone, and with a smile. "If you like, I could bandage this up for you. The pressure would relieve some of the pain." Aamori's eyes quickly shot for the door when she heard Nobu outside. She was quite surprised to hear him back already. She tensed up slightly when he was let inside, her eyes trailed up to rest on the older man who came in after him. Before she had the chance to give him a once over she'd jerked herself back slightly; He'd already been next to her examining her arm. "Um..." She paused giving a soft sigh. She oddly wasn't too alarmed or uneasy by him being that close to her. She strangely enough felt rather comfortable in his presence. "...Alright..." Nobu wasted very little getting into the kitchen again. He walked around Celestine and made his way directly to Minako and sat down in front of her wagging his tails back and forth frantically. He was clearly ready for his treat for doing his job. Minako shook her head lightly. "I didn't think about asking her while she was in here, that's why I didn't ask her myself." She simply. "Uncle Taro won't do anything to help her if she doesn't want it, or if she doesn't need the help." She added lastly, just as Nobu came into the room and sat down. She gave a soft laugh and reached out to pet his head. "I see you're back already, and by the sounds of it, you brought Uncle Taro." She smiled and moved over to fridge to pull out two apples. She stepped back in front of Nobu and tossed the two apples into the air above his head and then watched him stand up on his hind legs and snatch the apples whole and then swallow them just before sitting back down on the ground. Believe it or not, Nobu actually didn't eat any type of meat what so ever. Kyran sighed softly. "Of course, I'd forgotten about that." He said quietly now recalling what had happened. His ears twitched a couple times and he smiled slightly. "Nobu is back already... He's become faster.." He glanced up to Hikari. "That also means Uncle Taro should be here too. You should have him look at your hand. You'd be surprised what he can heal." LaRae sighed heavily being reminded about her wings. They hadn't been hurting her too badly, so long as she wasn't moving them so she almost hoped she might have been able to keep them unbound. She looked over at Nanashi for a moment and then looked away. "...I wouldn't be able to ask you to stay up here with me if you didn't want to. It wouldn't be fair to make you sit here with me." |
Celestine looked like he was ready to smack his head off of the wall when Minako answered the first question that he asked. He didn't think he'd said that out loud. He sighed and then shrugged slightly, just ruffling his feathers a bit before looking down to Nobu. He hadn't even been paying attention to when he came back. He watched as he ate the apples, a little amused at the way he was able to function so well without eyes. "Well...I think I am going back outside." he said finally before starting back to the living room. He paused when he spotted the man near Aamori and then looked away and just continued to head toward the door again.
Hiakri smiled slightly when he said that he'd forgotten about the burn. He shook his head and put her good hand on his shoulder. "It's alright. Really." she said softly. She leaned over and wrapped her arm around him, giving him a quick kiss on the head. "I'll take this back downstairs now if you're done with it. And there's no need to bother your uncle with my hand, I'm sure it's nearly healed by now anyway." Nanashi smiled slightly. "...You don't have to ask...really." he said softly. "...You know you are the only one that wants me around for too long. I don't mind." he said as he put a hand on her shoulder. "...I like spending time with you anyway... when you listen and don't try to get yourself hurt." he said with a slight smile. |
"Just give me a few minutes to find my stuff and we'll get your arm taken care of, alright." He said quietly as he stood up, only now catching a glimpse of the boy headed towards the door. He moved over to a closet on the way to the kitchen and searched inside for a moment before removing his hand from inside, and carrying a small black bag. It was a spare medical bag that he kept here just in case he forgot his larger one at his house. He moved back over to Aamori and knelt down again, then opened his bag fishing around inside before pulling out an pale green colored bandage. It was this color because he'd previously soaked the bandage in a special herb mix and then air dry. He smiled softly and took her arm again and quickly wrapped her arm and then knotted it off before replacing the rest of the bandage into his bag again. He stood up and then offered her his hand to help her up. "You may call me Taro. May I ask your name?"
Aamori looked over at Celestine when she saw him come into the living room. Part of her wanted to get up and follow after him right away, but she did kind of want her arm wrapped up and this Doctor was the first one to offer. She sighed lightly and waited for the guy to return. She quirked a brow slightly when she noticed the color of the bandage he was using; If she hadn't noticed the scent she might have stopped to ask what he'd done to the bandage. Once he finished she smiled softly. "Thank you, very much." She said quietly before looking at the hand he had extended to her. She reached up to take his hand and get to her feet. She let go of his hand once she was standing again. She hesitated at first from saying anything, only because of her voice. She didn't want to get caught with too many questions. She averted her eyes slightly. "...I'm Aamori..." She said quietly before moving away from Taro and heading towards the door herself. Taro smiled softly. "Well, it was a pleasure meeting you Miss Aamori." He said softly before kneeling down and picking up his bag, along with the bowl Aamori had left on the floor. He stood back up straight and glanced back at Aamori when she moved to the door. He had taken notice to the way her voice sounded but didn't say anything about it. He wasn't exactly sure of why it had an echo, and by the way she acted it was probably better not to ask. He nodded softly and turned to head back into the kitchen to place the bowl into the sink and talk with Minako. Once in the kitchen he side stepped Nobu and went straight to the sink, placing the bowl inside. He turned to look at Minako but noticed the man off in the corner and shook his head softly. "You've got quite a strange bunch here little niece of mine..." He said quietly as he gently placed his hand on Minako's head and rubbed head. "...So, since this apparently isn't just a leisure visit, what did you need?" Minako smiled brightly when Taro walked in and placed his hand on top of her head. "It's been awhile Uncle!" She paused. "I almost didn't think you'd come, considering how busy you've been all over the territory." She glanced over at Nero for a moment and then looked back at her uncle. "Yes, well. There is one from every clan here... But I did call you for a reason." She sighed softly. "Kyran was hurt, passed out and just woke up. He should be eating right now, but he has two large burns. One on his back and one on his chest. Is there anything you can do about that?" She nearly forgot about the other reason she'd sent for him, thankfully it came to her. "Oh! And there's a girl named LaRae upstairs too. There is something wrong with her wings, I think they might have been broken... Could you look at her too?" She asked looking up at Taro with concerned eyes. "Looks like a lot has happened since we all last saw each other. Of course I'll have a look at both of them. It is my job after all." He said with a warm chuckle before turning away and heading for the stairs. He stopped and looked back at Minako. "And don't worry, I'll do whatever I can. So don't worry." He then continued for the stairs. Kyran smiled lightly when she kissed his head and then sighed softly. "Alright. I'd take it down stairs myself..." He stopped, of course wanting to add that he knew he wasn't yet strong enough to make it down and back again. He shook his head softly and then moved his hand to reach for her arm to keep her from leaving right away. "...Hikari..." He paused. "...It may be something small, but let him look at it. He can make it better, he's incredibly talented." He let go of her arm and looked away. "If not for yourself, then do it for me." LaRae smiled softly, without looking at him she chuckled very softly. "I half expected you to say something against my comment of being fair..." She let her eyes trail over to him when she felt his hand on her shoulder. "...I like spending time with you too... regardless of the situation..." She smiled softly and looked away again. "...You know, you make it sound like I never listen... And I don't try on purpose to get hurt, it just happens." |
Celestine had of course gone straight outside and went back to the roof again. Now he was just stretched out by his weapon with his eyes closed and his arms crossed behind his head, soaking up the sun. Really, he didn't expect Aamori to follow him out since she seemed quite content in sitting around int he living room.
Hikari paused when Kyran grabbed her arm and looked at him for a moment before smiling weakly. "...Alright, alright... After he takes care of everyone else. You and LaRae need looked at more than I do." she told him again, "But I will let him have a look." She leaned over to kiss his head again. "You worry too much." she said softly before picking up the tray again and standing with it. "I'll be back later." she assured him before starting out the door and heading down the stairs. She nearly bumped into the new arrival about halfway down the steps. "Oh!" Sorry I didn't see you." she said after stopping short. "I suppose you are Kyran's uncle." she said with a pleasant smile, "he's waiting for you." Nanashi smiled again and shook his head. "You don't listen...to me at least. You've listened to me what...three times since we left?" he asked with a soft chuckle. "...and it is fair enough if I offer for you to ask me." he added since she'd mention expecting to hear something on it. "If I did not want to I suppose it wouldn't be too fair... but I don't mind." |
Aamori looked back at the doctor named Taro for only a moment and gave a nod with a smile attached. She then proceeded out of the front door. She stood for a moment pretty sure that Celestine must have gone back onto the roof. She gave a soft sigh and walked back over to the side of the house were she'd been sitting previously. Once there she sat down again and pressed her back against the side of the house.
Taro came to a stop just as he and Hikari nearly collided. "It's quite alright Miss." He said with a soft smile. "And yes, I'm their Uncle Taro." He added just before stepping around her and heading up the rest of the stairs. Once to the top he wasted very little time going into Kyran's room and walking over to the side of his bed. He set down the small black bag on the end table and then sat on the edge of the bed. "It's been awhile Kyran." He said as he glanced over at his nephew's chest; Eyeing the burn mark. "I wish we could have visited on different terms, but at least I'm getting to see you and you're sister." He said with a soft laugh as he pulled down the rest of the blanket that was covering up Kyran's chest. He sighed lightly. "...Looks like you really got hurt this time... What in Arienh happened to you?" He questioned as he reached for his bag and opened it again. "...at least this only appears to be a cosmetic fix..." He mumbled while digging around in the bag for a small cloth and an unnamed bottle. He opened the bottle and then poured the contents onto the small cloth and then started to dab it on top of the burn. Kyran merely smiled softly when Hikari finally said that she would let his Uncle have a look at her hand. He watched her leave the room with the tray and then started to get comfortable again but before he knew it Taro had already come into the room. He started to sit up again but Taro had already started inspecting the burn. When his uncle asked what happened he hesitated saying anything about what really happened. Sure, the Elder didn't say anything about keeping all of this to themselves, but he figured that they'd been told in secret so perhaps he shouldn't talk about it to anyone outside of the seven. He sighed softly and glanced away from Taro. "...I got into a fight, that's all." He said quietly as he suddenly flinched from feeling something extremely cold on his chest. He glanced down to see Taro dabbing something across the burn mark; Then the area's after a few moments were starting to disappear. He quirked a brow slightly as he continued to watch as the burn was going away. Once it was completely gone from his chest he shook his head softly. "That's definilty weird when you watch it happening to you..." He mumbled as he lifted his hand to feel where the burn had been. He felt nothing but his chest and smiled softly. "Thank you Uncle." Taro nodded softly listening to Kyran tell him that he got into a fight. That much was pretty clear. He pulled his hand back as he finished the burn on his chest. The look on his patients faces when something like that just went away always made him smile. They never believed it was possible, and in the beginning he questioned it too. Though he did learn how to conserve magic and still heal people. The burn was gone now, but Kyran would still feel a little pain here and there but nothing major; All thanks to the strange concoction that he had. "You're welcome Kyran, but come now... Roll over so I can get the one on your back too." He stated setting everything down on the side of the bed and gently helping to put his nephew onto his stomach. He gave a look to the burn on Kyran's back and merely shook his head. "...This one's much worse..." He mumbled as he picked up the cloth and bottle again. "I can tell already this one is going to leave a much smaller mark..." He said in a slightly sad tone. He sighed softly and continued on, dabbing the cold liquid to Kyran's back and then watching as it started to vanish like the one on his chest. He continued on until most of the burn was gone, now all that was left was a much smaller mark in the center of his back. He reached over to the bag and set the stuff back inside before turning back to look at Kyran. Kyran didn't say a word and rolled over onto his stomach with his uncle's help. He kept quiet and let him work and gave a soft sigh when he heard that there was still going to be a small mark. Well, a small mark was better then a large one. He turned his head to look at Taro and gave a soft sigh, followed by a yawn. "...Thank you Uncle." He stated again. Now that the burns were gone he wasn't in a whole lot of pain. He was just sore and in need of some more sleep to regain the energy that had been absorbed from him. He laid there for a moment longer looking at his uncle and then fell asleep. LaRae sighed softly and glanced over at him. She listened to him, but she didn't always do as he said. Though, she didn't do as she was told unless it was coming from someone with some authority over her; Like Renzo or her adopted family. Though that was only because if she didn't listen she'd end up punished for it. She let go of her ankle finally and stood up from the bed for a moment before turning to crawl back on the bed. She moved over to the head of the bed behind Nanashi and laid down on her stomach so that she wouldn't have to hold her wings up any longer. This way they could just rest against her back and not cause any strain. She turned her head so that she could see him and smiled softly. "....Guess what.... I'm listening to you, I'm off my feet.." She chuckled lightly. |
Celestine raised his head a little when he heard the door open again and then sighed softly. "...Aamori?" he asked since he assumed that would be the only other one coming out...unless maybe it was Nero trying to get away from everyone, but if it was then he probably wouldn't bother to answer so it wouldn't matter.
Hikari stood off to the side to let Taro around her, nodding to him as he passed and then resumed descending the stairs. She sighed softly as she entered the kitchen again and moved directly over to the sink, setting the bowl and glass down in the sink and sat the stray on the counter. She glanced down to her hand again as she stepped over to the table, sitting down in the chair at the other end from where Nero planted himself. Finally she got around to untying the bandage and letting it fall away from the burn. It was a little sticky at the front, but it wasn't really attached to the burn. As for the burn itself it was already half healed between the ointment and her natural healing abilities. She couldn't outright heal herself the way she could others, but her natural powers still caused her to heal nearly three times as fast as any other kind of dragon. She flexed her fingers a little and then stood up to go drop the bandage in the garbage before going to sit back down. She sighed softly and then crossed her arms on the table and laid down on top of them, closing her eyes for a few moments. She was planning to get something to eat here in a few minutes, but she was trying to give her hand a little tile to air out before she started touching things. Nanashi watched as she crawled onto the bed and laid down then laughed softly at her comment. "Good." he said with a slight smile. He pulled his feet up on the bed and drew his legs up to his chest as he wrapped his arms around them. "...Your wings seem a little better at least...that's good." he said softly. |
Aamori was already sitting down before it even registered that Celestine had said her name. She gave a small sigh and tilted her head up towards the roof. "...Yes?" She asked simply. She glanced down at her arm briefly still a bit curious as to what the bandage was soaked in. It surprisingly smelt faintly of flowers.
Nero lifted his eyes and looked over at Hikari when she came into the room. Then went right back to ignoring her, until she sat down at the same table as him and proceeded to remove the bandage on her had. He of course watched as she did so and then looked away again when she threw out the bandage. He leaned back in the chair again and shut his eyes gently. Taro smiled softly and reached out placing his hand on Kyran's head and roughing up his hair slightly. "You're welcome, Kyran." He said softly before reaching for his bag and closing it. He stood up and was about to leave the room but noticed the blanket that was laying on the floor; He knelt down and picked it up then laid it across Kyran. He reached for his bag and took it in his hand before turning to leave the room; He headed into the hall and glanced up and down the hall. Minako's door was shut and he'd passed by the guest room on the way to Kyran's room so he assumed that the girl he was asked to look at must have been in the last room. He continued on down the hall and then came to a stop right outside the door. He lifted his hand gently and knocked on the door frame with the back of his hand. He still had a soft smile on his face as he looked in the room. "Hello." He paused. "I'm Taro, Minako and Kyran's Uncle. Minako asked me to have a look at the girl's wings." LaRae nodded slightly. "They don't hurt quite as bad, only in the places where they're still broken." She wrapped her arms around the pillow and rested her head against it. She was startled slightly by the sudden knock at the door. She adjusted slightly trying to look to see who was there since she didn't recognize the voice. The man's voice was surprisingly very calming, so she relaxed a little. She managed to get a glimpse of Taro without straining herself too badly, then laid right back down without saying a word. She sighed heavily though thinking that Minako had sent him up to bind her wings again. |
Celestine sighed softly and crawled over to the edge of the roof, laying down on his stomach and crossing his arms as he looked down at where the voice had come from. "...Nothing. I was just wondering if it was you or Nero." he said simply. "...How is your arm?" He guessed he had better at least ask something since he'd initiated conversation. Celestine was actually pretty easy to talk to after a while...or at least once he got used to it.
Hikari just sat there silently for a little while, not bothering to pester Nero anymore than she already had. After about ten minutes, she finally got up and went to get herself a bit of the food that Minako had warmed up, though by now it was already nearly cold again. Hikari obviously wasn't too keen on working a stove so she just got out a bowl and got it out the way that it was. Once she had it she just found a spoon and returned to the table to eat, sitting up straight and scooping the spoon away from her as she ate, the way you would expect a proper lady to eat. Really it was just a force of habit. She got chewed out if she slouched or anything. Nanashi was looking back at LaRae when the knock sounded at the door and he nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard it. He looked back to the door quickly and stood up when he saw the man, already looking a little edgy, though he relaxed a bit when he explained who he was. "...O-oh... alright." he said quietly. He looked over to LaRae for a moment and then moved away from the bed a bit to give hm plenty of work space. |
Aamori looked back up to see Celestine; Though after seeing him she turned her eyes back towards the ground thinking 'If it's nothing then why continue with a conversation?' She gave a small sigh. "I can't feel the pain anymore and it smells of flowers." She said rather simply.
Minako had watched for a moment when Hikari came over and fixed something to eat herself. She merely shook her head slightly and reached over to turn the stove on after Hikari sat back down. She stood there by the stove long enough to let the food heat back up again and then placed the lid back on top to try and keep it warmer longer. She then reached down and turned the stove off. She glanced down at Nobu who was laying on the floor now and smiled softly before moving back to the fridge and took out another apple. She held it out for Nobu and waited for him to react. He rather quickly got to his feet and sniffed the apple waiting for Minako to let go of it. She smiled softly and started to hand it over to him. "...Take this up stairs and eat it, I know you'd rather be in there anyway." She said with a smile before ushering him out of the kitchen. She watched as he took the apple and practically pranced out of the kitchen and up the stairs. She shook her head softly and looked back over at Hikari and Nero. "...I'll be in the other room if you need anything." She said softly before walking out of the kitchen and back into the living room. She sat down on the couch again and lifted her book from the coffee table. Nobu with apple in mouth headed back up the stairs and right into Kyran's bedroom. He gently snuck up onto the foot of the bed and curled up just before eating his apple. Taro took a few steps into the room once he'd introduced himself and made his way over to the bed. He smiled softly when he saw the boy move away and looked over at him. "You didn't have to move. This shouldn't take too long." He said quietly as he walked over to the other side of the bed opposite of where the boy had been sitting a moment ago. He set his bag down on the floor next to the bed and then knelt down so that he could get a better look. "I do apologise should this hurt any." He said quietly as he gently took his hands and started to run them along the top of her wing, gently feeling for the breaks that Minako had thought she had. He made a face every time he came across one. He sighed and moved to reach for her other wing and do the same. After a few minutes he pulled his hands back and looked at the girl. "You're lucky you can even move your wings, there are a couple shattered bones. Three shattered areas to be precise." He paused and reached down to open his bag. "Though I get the feeling that you knew that already..." He dug around in his bag and then pulled out a decent sized unnamed container. Though this one was more round, rather then the shape of a bottle. He set it down on the edge of the bed and then started to open it up. He untwisted the cap and set it aside as he looked down at the green substance inside the container. He examined it for a moment and smiled slightly, it was still good. This was going to save a lot of time, considering how long it could take to make this stuff. LaRae didn't move at all even when Nanashi got up from the bed. She just watched quietly as Taro moved over to the other side of the bed. She then moved her head so she could look at him. She was surprised that he was a doctor. He sure as hell didn't look like a doctor and most doctors that she'd ever met were really old. She gave a soft sigh when she heard him say that he apologised if he hurt her and before she could say a word to him he'd already started touching her wings. As soon as he hit the first break in her wings she started to let out a cry of pain but forced her head into the pillow to muffle it. She knew there were more breaks so she didn't bother lifting her head through the other two muffled cries until he was finished and moved his hands away from her wings. She slowly lifted her head and looked over at him; Her face was slightly red now and her eyes had some tears welled up in them. She didn't think they'd hurt that badly just from someone touching them like that. She didn't say a word when he continued to speak and even started to turn her head away to look over in Nanashi's direction. At this point she just wanted Taro to finish what he was doing and let her rest. |
Celestine sighed slightly, barely catching her thought without really trying. "...That's good." he said simply before sitting up and backing away fromthe edge before straightening out again. He didn't bother saying anything else since apparently she wasn't too enthused about talking to him right now. It didn't really matter to him anyway.
Hikari glanced over to the stove when Minako decided to reheat the food, but didn't say anything. The stuff tasted fine cool as it was. "Alright. Thank you, Minako." she said simply before going on about finishing her food. She didn't take too long to finish beofre she was up again to put her dishes in the sink. She stood there for a moment and then finally turned on the water and started to wash the dishes, mostly just to keep herslef busy. She was quiet throught he first bowl, but eventually started humming quietly to herself something that sounded like it could have been a lullaby. Nanashi nodded slightly when the man told him that he didn't need to move, so after a moment he finally edged over to the side of the bed again and sat down. He watched him run his hands over LaRae's back and knew it was hurtingher by the way she was trying to burrow into the pillow. After a moment he gently set his hand on her arm and rubbed it lightly, wishing he could do something to make it hurt less, especially after she looked at him with those watery eyes. "..." He just tried to give her a smile. |
Aamori had glanced up again when she heard him moving again; Noticing that he'd moved away from the edge. She sighed softly then let her head fall back and rest against the side of the house. She was a little irritable, and it wasn't really anyone's fault. She was just annoyed by how many times she'd had to talk to someone, or ask something and had to be short because she feared someone catching onto the echo in her voice. She was also well aware of how annoying any conversation with her could be while her voice was like this. She brought her knees up and pulled them close to her body just before wrapping her arms around them.
Taro shifted his glance momentarily from the container to the girl's wings and then over to the boy. His eyes didn't stay there very long because he still had work to do; He'd practically ignored the fact that the girl was in pain. Though, only because he knew it was going to hurt and it probably would until he was finished. He reached down and picked up the container and held it in one hand before dipping his other hand inside and pulling out a small amount of the green substance. Since the shatters weren't too big he wouldn't use a lot of stuff. He reached across to her farther wing since it was the one with only one break in it and started to press and mold the stuff around the area where the break was. Once he'd finished placing it he pulled his hand back and waited for a moment. The green stuff automatically started to harden in place once he moved away from it. Though if one wasn't paying attention they wouldn't have noticed the slight aura to his hands which made it harden in the first place. Then he moved again and dipped his hand into the container and proceeding with the same steps as before until the other two breaks were covered. Once he was finished with that he started to close up the container and put it back into his bag. He looked back to the girl and gently rested his hand onto her back; right between her wings. Again, his hand still had the slight aura around it. "Now, I wouldn't move around too much for a little while. I'd maybe, give it a couple hours before having someone remove that stuff from your wings." He paused and then removed his hand from her back then stood up straight. "Also, don't go trying to use them right away just because you no longer feel the pain. They're not ready, and the result of using them would only mean they'd break worse." He smiled softly and grabbed his bag just before starting to head out of the room. LaRae immediately buried her head again as soon as Taro started to apply the stuff to her wings. The pressure that stuff was adding to her wings only made everything hurt more, especially when it all hardened. It felt like the bones were being forced back into place and she could feel them dragging around until they were placed properly. She bit down on her lip and squirmed slightly until he was finished. She relaxed considerably when he placed his hand on her back; Suddenly the pain was gone, just as he said. Nothing hurt, not even a little. She lifted her head and turned it towards Taro for a moment as she listened to the 'doctors orders'. Of course she wasn't happy hearing that she had to stay still; Though this time from a doctor. She sighed heavily and turned her head when he started to leave the room. She had a slightly confused look on her face. "Umm... You're not going to wrap them up?" Taro stopped when he heard her question and laughed lightly before turning back to look at her. "No." He said simply before continuing on. "The breaks are so small that wrapping the whole wing at this point would be useless and quite annoying. That stuff had hardened and will stay in place until someone other then yourself removes it." He paused and started to walk out again, only coming to a stop again. "Oh, and it will start to loosen once the bones are back together which will allow for someone else to take the stuff off. Once it's removed just toss it out." He nodded softly and then proceeded out of the room and into the hall. |
Celestine just crossed his arms and rested his head down on top of them, closing his eyes again. For as much as he'd gotten done this morning he could have stayed asleep and been just as happy. After a moment he just shifted one wing to shield his face from the light and sighed as he tried to just relax and maybe doze off again.
Hikari made short work of the dishes before setting the last one out to dry. She glanced to Nero for a moment and then just turned without a word to head back to the living room to sit for a while. She side glanced to Minako but then just went to the stairs rather than bother her. She didn't really have too much to talk about at the moment anyway. She was still humming the quiet tune as she ascended the stairs and ducked into the guest room again, hardly glancing down the hall as she did so she didn't even notice Taro coming out of the last room. She just went to the bed and fished in her bag for her comb to try to finally straighten out her hair since she'd yet to get around to it today. Nanashi sat by LaRae silently while Taro worked, though he cringed whenever LaRae looked like she was really hurting. He listened silently as Taro explained what LaRae should do with her wings and how the...whatever it was should be removed. He sighed softly, guessing that was probably going to be his job. Well at least maybe her wings would be better now, especially if he stayed around at least long enough to make sure that she did as she was told. Once Taro left the room he looked back down to LaRae again and smiled slightly. "...Feeling better?" he asked softly. "...Maybe you can take a nap or something until that stuff can be taken off..." |
Aamori rested her head against her knees gently and then gave a soft sigh. She was bored already and there was nothing to do. Well, the one thing she could do she refused to at the moment; Which was talking. Hearing her own voice even annoyed her. At this point all she wanted was her energy back so that she could go back to her child-like state. She brought her arms up a little higher to try and hide her face a little more. She shut her eyes gently; It didn't take very long for her to fall into a light sleep.
Taro continued down the hall, past all of the other room and towards the stairs. He paused there for a moment before going down the stairs to the living room. He smiled when he saw Minako and moved over to one of the chairs and sat down, setting the black bag next to him. He waited until she set her book aside to say anything to her. "I've looked after Kyran and that other girl. They'll be fine in a couple hours." He paused with a small sigh. "Is there anyone else you needed me to look at?" Minako took a moment to finish reading the page she was on before placing her finger in the book and closing it gently. She looked up at her uncle and waited for his question. She thought for a moment before saying anything to him. "Umm... I don't think so. As long as Kyran and LaRae are going to be alright then I think that was it." She said quietly. "Of course you know you are more then welcome to stay awhile longer Uncle." LaRae sighed heavily once Taro was completely out of the room and buried her head into the pillow again. Her ears twitched when Nanashi spoke and she lifted her head slightly to look over at him. "...Yes... I do actually feel better." She said quietly before gently shutting her eyes. She wasn't too tired, but she'd at least try to go to sleep. She snuggled into the pillow that she'd been holding the whole time having only given a nod to his suggestion of a nap. Surprisingly enough it didn't take long for her to go to sleep. Though, she'd wake rather easily. |
Nanashi smiled slightly at LaRae and then carefully moved so that he was laying down beside her. After he was situated he just crossed his arms behind his head and lay quietly, staring up at the ceiling for a while before closing his eyes. He wasn't really tired, but he didn't want to just lay with his eyes wide open for no reason. He didn't fall asleep, but someone could easily mistake him for sleeping right now.
Hikari stayed up in the guest room for a while, but once she was satisfied with her hair not sticking up in all directions and got bored enough, she finally decided to come out and go back downstairs. Now her flowing silver hair was tied back in a braid, which was probably the easiest things to work with on a trip like this. At least it would hopefully keep it from getting so messy again for a while. She was still trying to stay out of the way for the most part, but she guessed since Taro was down here that he must be finished with Kyran and LaRae. She sighed softly and walked over to him almost reluctantly. "...Excuse me." she said softly, "I hate to bother you, but I promised Kyran I would let you look at this. I'm sure it will be gone in another day or two if you would rather not bother with it." she added as she held out her hand. "I tried to tell him that it's going away, but he was being insistent as usual." |
Taro smiled softly and shook his head at Minako's offer. "You two already have a full house. I'll stay a little longer then I should be going." He said quietly just before looking up to see the other girl coming down the stairs. He looked back over at Minako about to say something more but stopped when he heard the other girl speak to him. He turned his head to look at her, then let his eyes fall down to her hand. His eyes lingered for a moment before he gave a soft smile. "It's nothing, don't worry about it." He said quietly before reaching down to the bag he had next to him and pulling out the same unnamed bottle as before and another small cloth. He opened the bottle and poured some of the liquid onto the cloth. He then set down the bottle and reached out to take her hand gently then proceeded to dab the burn with the cloth for a few moments all the while his had had that same faint aura as before. He pulled the cloth back and smiled, revealing the mark was no longer visible. "There you go." He said softly before starting to put everything back into his bag. "As for Kyran, he can't help it. His whole out look on life changed with the sudden passing of his Mother."
Minako nodded softly. "Alright Uncle, if you insist." She said quietly before picking her book back up. She barely pulled her eyes from the book even when Hikari came down stairs. She had focused far too much on what she was reading at the moment to be easily distracted, though she nearly dropped her book when Taro mentioned her mothers death. She was surprised at how easily he was able to say that. Sure it'd happened a long time ago but Kyran and herself had a hard time just letting such things roll off their tongues. She took a moment to regain her composure and then lifted the book again trying to act like nothing had happened. Nero had dozed off while sitting in the kitchen. For once it was actually somewhat quiet in the room, and Hikari's previous humming of a lullaby only made it easier to fall asleep. |
Hikari smiled slightly when he said not to worry about it and then made a face when he touched the burn with the liquid. "Ooh!" she gasped when he first touched it, but after that little comment she was quiet. She stood silently as he worked, watching in mild fascination as the burn went away. "Thank you." she said as he released her hand, and she set about examining it. She only looked up quickly when he mentioned Kyran's mother and subtlety glanced over in Minako's direction when she heard a slight reaction from her. Her eyes turned back to Taro once Minako started trying to pretend that nothing was wrong. "...I can imagine." she said softly, looking down at the ground for a moment. "I suppose it's natural." Her eyes wandered up again as she decided to try to change the subject since it was obviously a sore spot for Minako. "How did you learn to heal so well without using up all of your energy?" she asked, offering a slight smile. "I would do well to learn... I'm going to be too worn out to move if things keep going the way they have been, and I doubt Nero is going to want to carry me the whole way." She was curious to know how a thunder dragon could learn to heal so well, anyway. Light, wind, and water by nature were the most skilled healers, though other clans could obviously learn as well, she was surprised to find one see skilled here, and especially at such a young age.
|
Taro glanced over at Minako for a moment noticing her reaction to what he said. He merely shook his head lightly. He really wished that she and Kyran could learn to get over the past and learn to accept what happened. He sighed lightly before his attention was snagged by the girl's question. He smiled softly. "I'm actually not as good a healer as most might think." He started. "Though for my clan, I am a prodigy." He paused and leaned back in the chair slightly. "I mostly use special supplies, like that liquid; That I've mixed myself. Everything I use takes awhile to create, it's got to age ever so slightly. Then the entire time that it's aging I add a little healing based energy here and there. Over time you end up with a substance that's already charged with your healing energy, you just have to add a small amount at the onset of helping someone to spark the process." He finally stopped explaining for a moment. "Forgive me if I lost you anywhere." He said quietly. "When I explain that I tend to just keep going until I'm finished." He added lastly with a soft laugh.
Minako had been lifting her eyes every couple of seconds from her book, until she noticed that they'd dropped the subject. She gave a small sigh of relief and went back to ignoring them for the time being while she continued reading. It didn't take her long to get back to where she'd been before she dropped the book and then quietly turned the page and continued on. |
Hikari listened earnestly, trying to remember everything that he said. When he stopped she smiled and shook her head slightly. "No, it makes sense." she assured him, "I'd never thought of that before... It's interesting. I may have to try it sometime." she said brightly. "What sort of things do you mix together?" she asked, as she plopped down on the floor in front of him, sitting on her knees with both hands in her lap as she looked up at him like an interested pupil may look at their instructor. "I have been studying healing magic since I was little, and I've never heard of anything like this. It's interesting." she said earnestly. Her shimmering blue eyes really seemed to light up at the prospect of possibly learning something new. Normally she looked so eager to soak up new information that it was hard to resist telling her everything you possibly could...partially because she would sit there and soak it up like a dry sponge.
|
Taro laughed softly seeing how interested she was in what he had to say, or teach for that matter. He leaned over to the side and opened up his bag again pulling out the bottle he'd had just a moment ago and handed it to her. "That bottle can take care of several different types of cosmetic marks. Like the burns that both you and Kyran had. In my hands it can take the mark off the top of the body, but sometimes it can leave a little of the mark behind. In the hands of a proper healer, it could do much more I'm sure." He paused for a moment. "You can keep everything that I give you. I've got plenty of replacements at my house." He laughed lightly. "I'm constantly making these things." He turned again to reach into his bag and pulled out the larger round container that he used on the other girl's wings. He started to open it carefully and tilted it so that she could see the green puddy like substance inside. "This, I used on the other girls wings. It's something special I make, I've yet to find someone who could reproduce this." He paused and then closed the cap and handed it over to her. "You take it out and mold it to the broken area, it will harden and stay that way until the bones have completely reattached to one another. It takes a little longer then just healing the bones, but it saves a lot of energy in the long run." He paused again and took a breathe. "Once the bones have reattached and the healing is done, the mold will soften again and can be removed and thrown out." He stopped again realising that this whole time he hadn't answered her question. "I'm sorry Miss, I seem to have passed right by your question." He stated before continuing on. "With the first bottle I handed you, you can mix it just like you would for the different disfiguring marks. Just remember that you have to add healing energy to the mix daily. And it's helpful to remember which bottle has what inside, because when adding energy I've found it's best to be thinking about what you want the contents of the bottle to be able to do." He shifted his glance towards the container with the green stuff inside. "As for that one, I recommend sending a messenger to me to get it. If that isn't mixed just right it can completely backfire and you won't know it until you've gone to use it. You can easily break every bone in a foot's radius of the puddy once it's applied." He sighed lightly and then looked back to the girl. "If Kyran takes Nobu with him when you all leave again then Nobu will be able to return to me to get the stuff for you, should you run out." He nodded slightly. "Oh, and if you're really interested, when there is more free time I can teach you how to properly make the puddy. It will just take a decent amount of time to learn how."
