Kyran came to a stop just behind Hikari when she paused and waited for her to start walking again. He only briefly looked to Aamori when she came into the living room and got her sandals. He turned slightly to glance over his shoulder once they started out the door, kind of curious to know if anyone else was coming with them. He glanced over to Nobu for a moment once he was outside and quirked a brow slightly. He wasn't so sure he remembered seeing Nobu outside last night. Maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him, Nobu was a dark purple after all maybe he was just hard to see.
Aamori stood up once her sandals were back on and glanced towards Kanone when she heard his voice. She gave a soft sigh when he said he was coming with them and then shook her head lightly before starting to head out the door herself. She just hoped that his following them wasn't going to bother Celestine. She wasn't sure how much of this mission he felt like sharing with others. She paused just as she got outside the door and then turned back around and slipped inside for a moment. She went back to the bench and grabbed her holster before turning back to get outside. She started to undo the buckle as she stepped across the porch headed for the steps down. She wasn't watching where she was stepping and was focused on getting the buckles undone from her holster so she could put it back on. She managed to misplace her foot and stepped down wrong, causing her to slip and fall flat on her bum. She bit her lip just as it happened and continued to while she felt a brief sharp pain shoot up her spine and back down quickly. LaRae glanced back over to the sink and Nanashi when she heard the water running; Though her attention was snagged when Sonia spoke. She gave a light sigh and looked back to Nanashi just about the same time he looked at her. She then turned and looked back over at Sonia completely acting as if she hadn't the faintest clue as to what was really going on. "No. But they did say they were going for a walk. So, I assume that's what they're doing." She said lightly. |
Celestine looked up when the others started to come outside and stood up straight again. He sighed when he saw Kanone come out and shook his head, but he didn't say anything. Kanone already knew where they were going, so he guessed that it didn't really matter. He stepped off of the porch and took a couple of steps, at least until he heard a light thud behind him. He sighed and glanced back to see Aamori sitting on her tail on the steps. He shook his head again and walked back to her before holding out his hands to her. "Watch where you're going." He said simply. He knew she was probably still hurting after last night, but that was one place that he wasn't about to heal for her.
Hikari had just stepped off the porch when she heard Aamori fall. She looked back and blinked, then shook her head again. She'd lost count of how many times that girl had fallen, though honestly she had no room to talk...so she didn't. She was probably just about as clumsy if not more so than Aamori when she wasn't paying attention. Kanone hopped off the porch after Celestine and took a couple of steps, though when Celestine stopped so did he. He looked back to Aamori and smiled weakly. "Ow.." he muttered quietly. He knew that had to hurt her poor aching little bum. Sonia nodded slightly, though she looked rather skeptical. "...I suppose..." she said quietly. She finished up the last of her food and then took the plate to the sink and sat it down with the others. "Well, I suppose that I had best do some laundry..." She said simply and then looked LaRae over. "...Would you like to borrow something for a little while? I could get your clothes as well while I am at it." she offered her. She glanced over to Nanashi as well, but she wasn't sure she had anything that would fit him. Kanone's clothes would probably be a little big on him. She just turned her attention back to LaRae and smiled slightly. "I have quite a few clothes that I never wear anymore, if you find something in there that you like, you can keep it if you want. I already gave your friend one outfit." she said with a soft laugh. Nanashi sighed softly, glad to be off the hook as far as the questions went. He just smiled at LaRae when Sonia started on her and then looked out the window silently. |
Kyran much like the others had paused and looked back when he heard the thud. He shook his head lightly seeing that Aamori had slipped and fallen again.
Aamori released her lip as soon as the pain subsided a little and then glanced up at Celestine briefly when he came over. She took advantage of the fact she was now sitting down to buckle her holster to her thigh. Once it was secure she glanced around at the others for a moment before taking Celestine's hand and getting to her feet. Once she was standing again she gave a soft sigh. "Why do you all have to assume I fell? I needed to sit down to put my holster on.." She muttered quietly before starting to dust herself off a little. LaRae's eyes widened slightly and she shook her head no pretty quickly to the offer to borrow some of her clothes. "..N-no.. Thank you." She said quietly. "..My clothes aren't that.... dirty.." She said and had started to look down before she said the last word. She really hadn't realized how dirty her clothes where, at least until her attention was drawn to them. It probably didn't help anything either that she had long dirt streaks running up and down her thighs from where she'd rubbed the dirt from her hands yesterday. |
Celestine just sighed. "Then don't sit down so loudly." he said simply, dropping her hands as soon as she was on her feet again. He just turned around and started walking again, heading back up toward the square again.
Kanone smiled slightly at Aamori and then turned around and started after Celestine. "Boy someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed." he said simply. "Shut up Kanone." Hikari sighed softly and shook her head. She nearly pitied whoever Celestine was going to see. She just started after them quietly after a moment and then finally glanced toward Kanone. She guessed it was safer to ask him her question rather than ask Celestine right now. "So...Kanone. What is a dream seer?" she asked lightly as they walked. Kanone looked back to her and blinked. "Um..." he glanced toward Celestine for a moment before looking back to her again. "Well, dream seers are dragons that were born with the ability to see things in their dreams... like they can see things that happened in the past, or things that are happening somewhere else as they're happening...or they may see the future. As far as I know, they are only born among our clan, and then when their ability starts to develop they're marked with a--" "Do you really have to talk to much? You already answered her question...poorly." He said simply. "Dream seers can't see the future, they can only see possibilities that the future may hold. It's impossible to see the future because the future hasn't been decided yet." He said simply without looking back to them. Hikari just blinked and looked at Celestine when he butted in. "...Well you sound like an expert on the subject." "I've talked with Marius a lot." he said shortly. Sonia smiled at LaRae and shook her head. "Come on." she said, reaching over to take her hand."I"m still young at heart, I like to dress people up." she said with a soft laugh as she gave her hand a light tug. "You don't mind if I borrow her for a little while do you, Nanashi?" Nanashi glanced back and smiled. "Be my guest." He said lightly. |
Kyran sighed softly hearing how grumpy Celestine was, yet again. Obviously the guy hadn't slept well again. He shook his head lightly and just kept quiet. Though his attention was peeked a bit when Hikari asked the question she had. He'd barely been paying any attention before but he had picked up on certain words; So hearing the words 'dream seer' again is what caught his attention. He glanced over to them and listened quietly. Though he did roll his eyes slightly when Celestine butted in on the explanation that Kanone was giving. He of course wanted to know the end of that statement Kanone was making but gave a light sigh.
Aamori half glared at Celestine after he started to walk away. Why in Arienh did he have to be so damn grouchy. She didn't follow after them right away, she hung back for a moment slid her hand behind her to gently rub her butt since she'd fallen on it so hard and ended up making it even more sore. She gave a heavy sigh and then started to follow after them; Not bothering to catch up right away. The last thing she wanted to do was walk any faster then already was. She'd probably end up tripping over the toe of her sandal and be flattened on the ground in no time. LaRae's eyes only widened again when Sonia reached down and took her hand and tugged on it lightly. What have I gotten myself into... Is this pay back for sleeping on her white couch? She looked back at Nanashi briefly when he didn't try to stop Sonia, with a look of 'how could you' on her face. She gave a sigh and reluctantly let Sonia pull her along. |
Hikari shook her head slightly at Celestine and then looked back to Kanone again. "Anyway, what were you saying about when their abilities develop?" she asked simply, ignoring the death glare that Celestine cast her.
Celestine obviously didn't want this conversation to progress any further, but after he glowered at Hikari for pressing it he just grumbled quietly and started walking faster, pulling ahead of everyone a little bit. Kanone glanced to Celestine again and then back to Hikari with a 'you're trying to get me killed, aren't you?' look on his face. "Um...yeah, the dream seers are marked when their abilities start to develop. They have a mark put on their forehead somehow, I'm not sure how they put it on, but it's like a triangle made up of three circles. It's supposed to stand for past present and future or...something like that I think." he said with a shrug. Celestine just huffed and turned his head slightly away from where anyone could see it. "Big mouth..." he thought bitterly. He just hoped that the others weren't too observant. His hair covered part of the mark on his head, but not enough that it wasn't painfully obvious what it was. Hikari blinked and looked at Kanone for a moment before glancing over to Kyran and then to Celestine's back. Nanashi smiled weakly at LaRae and his ears drooped slightly before he looked away innocently. He watched them go and then turned back to the window again. He looked down again and shook his head, finally just starting to do the dishes again just to have something to do. Sonia smiled at LaRae and pulled her down the hallway and then over to the stairs. "Hehe don't look so nervous, I don't think my closet bites." she said lightly as she started up the steps and back into her bedroom. Her room was pretty normal looking with white walls and white bed sheets. Her carpet was pale green and her curtains and comforter matched almost perfectly. She also had several vases of irises sitting around practically surrounded by several family pictures, one of which was a copy of the one that was in Celestine's room. "Here, let's see what we have in here." she said as she went to the closet and pulled the door open. The closet was fairly large and practically stuffed full of clothes. She just stepped inside and started rummaging through the different garments. |
Kyran laughed very softly while he shook his head, hearing that Hikari had asked the question that he would've but didn't because of Celestine. He'd started to learn to leave well enough alone when Celestine started handing out death glare's like party favors. He tilted his head to the side slightly after hearing what Kanone said about the forehead being marked. He glanced at Hikari briefly and then gave a sigh.
Aamori eventually started to catch up to them. Just in time to catch the last part of what Kanone was saying. She continued after them, but didn't bother saying anything. Though she was starting to wish she'd at least picked up the rest of the bacon from her plate. She hadn't finished eating and was still hungry; Which was obvious by the random low growl of her stomach. Her ears laid back a little when she heard her stomach and pressed her hands over it in hopes of quieting it before anyone else heard it. LaRae gave a soft sigh and continued to let Sonia lead her up to her room. "...I know... Closets don't bite.." She said quietly. When they reached the bedroom she just came to a slight stop and glanced around a little. She was kind of happy to see yet more flowers in the house, even in a bedroom. She smiled very faintly at the flowers before eyeing a couple of the different family pictures. She moved over to have a closer look, almost timidly while she waited for Sonia to finish digging around inside the closet. |
Kanone looked at Hikari and followed her gaze and then sighed softly and just continued walking, glancing back to Aamori. He grinned slightly and slowed down to walk beside her. "So, how's your bum?" he asked lightly and then glanced at her hand, "Hey, if you were still hungry, why didn't you just stay and eat?" he asked with a smile.
Hikari just shook her head and continued following after Celestine. She did remember seeing a mark just like the one that Kanone had described on Celestine's forehead when she was checking him for a fever the day that he fainted. "Hmm..." she sighed softly and shook her head. Celestine had already led them through the square and was starting up the other road that led further into the town. He was hardly looking where he was going now, he was just walking with his hands balled into fists grumbling to himself. Soon two girls that were sitting on the porch of a house when the group approached came running out to greet them. "Kanone! Hey!" one called, waving to him. The two girls looked identical other than one's hair was curled and the other's was straight. They paused in front of the group and looked at Celestine for a moment before turning their attention back to Kanone. "Who's your friend?" the one with curls asked, nodding toward Celestine. "I don't remember seeing her around before." Celestine gritted his teeth and looked up again. "I am not a 'her!'" he snapped, motioning at his clothing. Kanone blinked and then smiled. "Haha hey, you two. That's Celestine, my cousin, remember him?" He asked. The two girls looked back to Celestine again and then descended on him. "Oh my god are you serious!? I thought you were just wearing boy's clothes!" the one with the curlier hair said as she grabbed his hand. "You are so beautiful, how do you keep your skin so smoothe?" The other one was busy playing with his hair, "I love his hair, it's so long and pretty! I think it's softer than yours, Raine!" the other exclaimed as she stroked his hair. Celestine just froze again like he had the night before when Mariah came near him, but soon his face was burning red. He jerked his hand back and shook them both off. "Get off me, you harpies!!" he snapped, backing away from them. "What's wrong? We were just complimenting you!" the curly haired one said. "Being called 'pretty' is not a compliment! I'm a GUY!" Kanone wasn't helping matters at all, he was just standing there laughing hysterically at the whole thing. He knew that was going to happen sooner or later. "SHUT UP!!" he snapped again before whirling around and storming off, looking even more pissed off than he had before. The pictures in Sonia's room mostly consisted of herself and Kanone, but there were also some that had the man that was in the picture downstairs and another child in them. There was one of her husband and Celestine's father down by the lake fishing. The entire top of the dresser was covered in assorted pictures of both her family and Celestine's. There was more than one picture of Celeste as well. Finally, Sonia came out with a dress that she thought would look good on LaRae. "Here try this one!" she said, laying it out on the bed. The dress was long and would probably come down to right around LaRae's feet. The top of the dress was dark green and rather snug with spaghetti traps that crossed in the back. The dark green section ended a little below the hips where it fanned out a little more. Below the dark green was another cream colored layer that came down to right around the knees before a pastel green layer beneath that came all the way down to the feet and was decorated with small white flower patterns. The dress was rather flowy and tied around the waist with a large white ribbon. "I think this would look great on you!" |
Aamori glanced up and looked at Kanone when he got beside her. She averted her eyes when he asked about her bum and gave a sigh. "If you really must know." She paused. "It hurts." She said quietly. She looked down at her hand after he noticed she was still hungry. She removed her hand and let it drop back down to her side. "...LaRae asked me to come in her stead." She said simply.
Kyran came to a stop when his eyes caught sight of the two girls that came running over. He looked them over for a moment before turning slightly to look back at Kanone since the girls apparently knew him. Though his eyes rolled as he looked back over to Celestine after hearing him snap at the girls. He was trying to stifle a soft laugh when Kanone told the girls that was Celestine. The reaction from the two girls, along with how pissed off Celestine was getting was only making him laugh. Aamori tilited her head slightly when the two girls gathered around Celestine. At first she was getting uncomfortable, but they continued to refer to him in girly terms and seeing how upset he was getting only made her burst out laughing. She tried to stifle her laughter long enough to speak. "...Now, now, Celestine that's no way to talk to girls." By the time she finished talking she'd already burst out laughing again. She was actually happy this happened, she thought it perfect pay back in her eyes for dancing with that other girl Mariah, right in front of her. LaRae had just started to reach out to pick up one of the pictures when she heard Sonia come back from the closet and she jerked her hand back and looked at her. She started to move over to the bed when she said for her to try what she'd set on the bed. She just stood there for a moment looking at what was there. She sighed lightly seeing a dress. She'd never worn a dress before. She shook her head lightly and glanced back at Sonia with a slightly nervous look on her face. "...I-I've never worn a dress before..." She half stuttered as her eyes trailed back over to the dress. It was pretty, she just could never picture herself in anything like that. She continued to just stare at it with a rather confused look on her face; She wasn't even sure how to go about putting that on and was half afraid to admit she didn't know what to do when it came to putting such things on. "..." |
Hikari blinked when the girls started to mob Celestine and talk about how pretty he was. She really couldn't help but laugh, especially since everything that they said she agreed with completely. If he was a girl he would be very beautiful. She was trying her best to stop laughing when Celestine started to scream for them to shut up, but that only made her laugh harder. She shook her head and covered her mouth to try to stifle the laughter, but even that wasn't working at all.
Kanone was having trouble not laughing either, especially after what Aamori said. He sounded like he was about to fall over from lack of air he was laughing so hard. "Wow...he's really grumpy in the mornings." the straighter haired girl commented. "Nah...he's grumpy all day." Kanone answered between laughs. Celestine just kept walking, but he could still hear all of them laughing behind him. He gritted his teeth and closed his eyes tightly. Even Hikari and Kyran were laughing at him. He couldn't help it that he took more after his mother than his father. Even if he did cut his hair off, that wasn't where his girly looks were coming from. He's have to just get a new face to do anything about it. He balled his fists up at his sides when he felt his eyes watering up slightly. He just growled and took off at a run, hurrying up the road. To hell with the rest of them. Sonia smiled at LaRae and and shook her head. "Really? You should wear them more often.. it never hurts a girl to dress up a little." she said with a soft laugh. "Here, I'll help you get it on." she said with a smile. Go ahead and get out of those clothes then just slip this over your head and put your arms through here." she said, motioning at the area between the straps and the material, but make sure it crosses in the back." |
Kyran had balled up his fist slightly and raised to mouth, he was seriously trying not to laugh anymore. It took him a few minutes but he'd finally managed to stifle his laughter. He shook his head lightly with a faint hint of a smile on his face. He couldn't help laughing at Celestine's expense. He wasn't really laughing because of the way the guy looked, he laughed at how he reacted to the girls calling him pretty. You could almost time his reaction when it came to that topic; Seconds after the word pretty fell from anyone's mouth referring to him he'd snap. Either that or when he was called a 'her'. He gave a soft sigh finally having lost all urge to laugh and glanced around at the others. "C'mon now.. We shouldn't be laughing at him." He paused. "...Even if it was kind of funny."
Aamori had already started to try and quite her laughter when she noticed that Celestine had started to run away from them. Then when Kyran managed to stop laughing and speak she took a deep breath and then gave a heavy sigh as she stopped her laughter. She ordinarily might have felt bad for laughing, but she'd already convinced herself he deserved it. LaRae gave a soft sigh and then knelt down to start unlacing her boots. "...Back home I'm not allowed to wear such things. Dresses and pretty clothes are given to my foster sister." She said quietly as she switched to the other boot to remove it. She stood back up once she'd slipped her feet from her boots and then moved her hands to unbutton her pants. She hesitated for a moment but shook her head lightly; They were both girls so it didn't really matter if she stripped down in front of her. She made quick work of getting her pants and top off and then stared at the dress again for a moment before reaching over and picking it up. She looked at while she had it in her hands and then lifted her eyes up to look at Sonia for a moment. "So... just slip it.. over my head?" She asked as she turned the dress upside down and looked through it from the bottom. She quirked a brow and then heaved a heavy sigh. She guessed it was probably as easy as putting on a shirt... just... much longer. She lifted the dress and started to put it over her head. At first all the fabric gathered at her shoulders and she hadn't brought her arms in so that the dress could go down. "..." She finally remembered that her arms were supposed to go through the the area between the straps. She brought her arms in and shimmied the dress down from her shoulders before fighting with where her arms had to go. The first try she had the straps crossing in the front rather then the back and she had to slip out of the dress and try it again. She did however get it on properly the second try. Once it was on she heaved another heavy sigh as her shoulders dropped. She looked over at Sonia. "...I don't think I like dresses..." She muttered quietly. |
Hikari finally managed to get herself to stop laughing soon after Kyran had, though she still couldn't help but smile until she saw him run away from them. She sighed softly and her ears drooped slightly. "Oh...I think we hurt his feelings..." she said softly. She wasn't trying to laugh at him, it was just funny the way the girls acting toward him.
The girls looked a little guilty after that. "We weren't trying to hurt his feelings..." Kanone took a deep breath and finally settled himself then shook his head. He patted the one with the curly hair on the head after she spoke. "Don't worry about it. He'll get over it." he said simply. "Well, guess we'd better get moving if we're going to catch up with him. "And hey, I'm always up for hearing how pretty I am!" "...You're not pretty!" the girls said in union before they started laughing. "Yeah thanks a lot! he said with a laugh before shaking his head, "Alright, that's it, I'm leaving!" he told them before he started marching off in the direction that Celestine had gone. "Hehe. Bye, Kanone!" They called before going back to the house they'd come from. Celestine continued to run up the street until he was well out of sight of the others. He finally stopped just outside Marius' house and sat down on his porch, pulling his legs up to his chest when he sat down and rested his chin on his knees. He just rubbed his eyes until the tears and all evidence of their beginning were gone and then sighed. Sonia watched as LaRae struggled into the dress and laughed softly before reaching over the second time to help guide her arms to the right place. She smiled at her last comment and shook her head slightly. "But you look lovely." She said softly as she gathered the ribbon and tied it securely behind her back. She smiled and placed her hands on her shoulders and led her over to the closet door, pushing it closed to reveal a full length mirror. "See?" she said with a smile. She reached up to LaRae's hair and combed her fingers down through it as far as she could before she hit a snag. "Would you like me to brush your hair out for you? Then you can go downstairs and show your friend." She said with a soft giggle. |
Kyran gave a heavy sigh and his own ears fell slightly. "Yes.. unfortunately I think you're right Hikari." He said as he looked back the way Celestine had run off. He listened to the exchange between the two girls and Kanone and then started to walk once Kanone had, gently slipping his hands into his pockets along the way.
Aamori glanced back between Hikari and Kyran for a moment when they both mentioned something about hurting Celestine's feelings. She gave a sigh and then wandered over next to Kanone when he started to walk off. "...You know only girls are supposed to be considered pretty." She paused. "So why are you fishing for girly compliments?" She chuckled lightly. "And last I checked you were aware of how nice you looked... So why do you have to hear it from others? Oh wait... Or are you just jealous because Celestine's getting all the female attention?" She asked teasingly. LaRae tensed up slightly when Sonia started to tie the ribbon behind her. The first thought being that now she couldn't get out of the dress easily. She sighed as she let Sonia guide her over to the full length mirror. She hesitated looking, but eventually brought her eyes up and then averted them quickly. She still thought the dress was really pretty but seeing herself in it was just so strange and really something she wasn't used to. Unfortunately she had trouble looking in the mirror because she couldn't help picturing her foster sister in her place. It'd practically been beaten in to her skull that anything like this dress was meant for Yuriko, and if she was ever caught touching them she'd get into the trouble. It all around was a really silly rule her foster parents had put in place, but she'd just gotten used to the way things worked back home. Not to mention after so many years she was just flat out more comfortable in jeans and a shirt. She glanced up again when she felt Sonia running her hands through her hair, then flinched slightly when she hit the snag. She had a really tender head. She was about to answer Sonia, to tell her she could brush her hair if she really wanted to; But her eyes widened and she turned slightly to look at Sonia. "...W-What a-are you talking a-about... I-I c-can't go downstairs d-dressed like this...!" She said nervously then tilted her head down towards the floor; She could feel her cheeks beginning to burn already. |
Hikari sighed softly and started after Kyran when he started moving, staying close to his side. She leaned her head over onto his shoulder again for a moment as she walked and then lifted it again. She felt bad for laughing now. With all of them laughing at him back she could only imagine what Celestine was thinking when he ran off. Now she just wanted to find him and apologize.
Kanone looked back over to Aamori and grinned. "Yes, I am very jealous. Look at this I'm turning green!" he said, raising his tail to wave in front of her face. "Oh wait, I was born green." He reached over and patted her on the head again and continued walking. "Well luckily, I know where he was going, I think, so we shouldn't have much trouble finding him. Of course you all may want to duck and cover when we do." Celestine finally got up from the porch and dusted himself off before knocking on the door. He only had to stand there a moment before the door opened and he was invited inside. He gave the old man a short greeting and then took a seat on the couch. He was still grumbling mentally about the whole ordeal back there but he didn't bother to gripe about that to Marius. Sonia looked at LaRae and smiled, shaking her head slightly. 'Why not?" she asked softly. She reached up to brush her hair away from her face gently and offered her another smile. "You're a very pretty girl. It never hurts to dress up once in a while, just for fun." She gently took her hand again and led her over to the bed again. "Here...sit down lets see if we can do something about those tangles." she said as she went back to grab a hair pick and a brush. |
Kyran glanced down at Hikari when she leaned her head onto his shoulder briefly and gave a weak smile. He felt bad now too, for laughing at Celestine. He shook his head and gave a heavy sigh. He of all people shouldn't have laughed, he just couldn't help it and obviously neither could any of the others.
Aamori shook her head lightly and chuckled after what Kanone said about being green. Then she stared at him after he patted her head. "You're forgetful." She half muttered before looking away. "..And I'm not so sure we'll have to 'duck and cover'" She said lightly. "He seems to forget about hurting people.." She said as she glanced back to Kanone briefly. LaRae gave a sigh. "...I-It's ...a little ...embarrassing." She said quietly. She just stood there without looking up when she heard Sonia compliment her. Yet again, something she wasn't really used to; Regardless of who it came from. She shook her head very lightly when Sonia said that it didn't hurt to dress up once in awhile. Obviously Sonia had never met her foster family. She sat down on the bed and finally lifted her eyes a little to watch Sonia go to retrieve her brush. She couldn't believe she'd gotten talked into putting this dress on. She shifted her eyes and looked back down at her dirty clothes; Tempted to put them back on. |
Kanone looked over to Aamori and smiled. "Oh I didn't forget." He said lightly. "I just enjoy being a pest." he said simply, patting her head again with a soft chuckle. He continued walking until he reached the outside of the house that he was pretty sure Marius lived in. "Well this is it...I think." he said simply as he stepped onto the porch and knocked on the door.
Hikari blinked and looked at the house. The house didn't look all that special. It was just like most of the others around here. She stepped up to the porch and stood there silently for a few moments before glancing to Kyran again. Finally the door opened and the Marius poked his head out. He was an elder man, but it was only just beginning to show in his hair and around his eyes. His hair was long and starting to appear more silver than jade, and the lines around his mouth were deeper than they once had been. He looked down to Kanone and smiled warmly. "Haven't you caused enough trouble for one morning, Kanone?" he asked simply. He at least seemed to be very gentle natured and friendly. Kanone smiled and shook his head. "Did you see a scrawny little boy come by here?" Marius smiled again and shook his head. "No...but I do have one very upset young man pouting on my sofa and grumbling about crazy girls and so called friends." he said simply. He looked away from Kanone long enough to look at the others and then stepped back, opening the door a little more. "Come inside. It appears a couple of you at least may have something to say to someone in here." he said with a smile. Sonia just smiled and crawled onto the bed behind LaRae and gently began to pick at her hair with the comb, trying to gt the majority of the tangles out. She laughed softly and shook her head. "You shouldn't be embarrassed..." she said softly, "You have nothing to be embarrassed about. I'm sure your friend would agree with me." she said softly. She really could start to treat any girl that came in here like a doll. She'd always wanted a little girl that she could dress up, but she ended up with two boys. Kanone definitely wouldn't sit still long enough for her to do much with him. |
Aamori glared at Kanone when he said he didn't forget and that he just enjoyed being a pest. She continued to follow after him until he stepped up on the porch. She waited until after the exchanges between Kanone and this older man. Then she smirked lightly, having finally thought of some way to get back at him. She set her palm out in front of her and whispered a few words in her native tongue; Producing a small orb of water. She then took it in her hand and tossed it; Sending it sailing right above Kanone's head. It wasn't a great deal of water, but definitely enough to soak his hair. Once she'd done what she had she quickly dropped her hand down to her side and stood there like she didn't have any idea what had happened.
Kyran followed onto the porch and was pretty quiet just listening to the exchanges. He looked at the man when he opened the door a bit more and said to come inside. From force of habit he bowed his head slightly as he started towards the door. Though, he paused for a moment when he heard what sounded like a water balloon popping. He glanced around briefly seeing what had happened and shook his head lightly before proceeding into the house, past the older man. He wandered straight over to Celestine and gave a small sigh. "Hey.. I just wanted to apologize." He paused. "I was being inconsiderate and rude, and I shouldn't have laughed." He said sincerely. LaRae lifted her eyes slightly when Sonia came back over and got on the bed behind her. She just sat there quietly and rather still, at least until she'd hit a tangle; Then she'd make a face until the tangle was gone. She couldn't help feeling all around uncomfortable. She'd always been the one to brush out her hair so having someone else do it just felt weird; But it was kind of nice at the same time. She gave a soft sigh when she heard that she shouldn't be embarrassed and then her cheeks went pink again when she said that she thought Nanashi would agree. "..." She continued to just sit there, though she'd moved her hands to her lap and began fidgeting with them. |
Kanone smiled at Marius and shook his head slightly, just getting ready to step inside when he felt the water burst on his head. He shook his head quickly, slinging water everywhere and then glared back at Aamori. "You..." he said with a playful growl as he pointed back at her. "You're going to get it." He said with a grin before turning to walk inside.
Marius laughed softly and held up a hand to avoid getting splashed in the face with the water flying off of Kanone's hair. "Try not to drop on the furniture." he said lightly before glancing back to the young water dragon and the light dragon. "Come on inside." He told them, waving them on. Hikari chuckled softly at Kanone and then smiled slightly at Marius before stepping inside. She nodded to him as she passed and then moved over to stand beside Kyran. She listened to his apology and then nodded. "I'm sorry, too, Celestine, I wasn't laughing at you." she said softly. Celestine was just sitting on the couch with his arms crossed, glaring at the floor, though he slowly glanced up when he heard the two of them talking. He just sighed and looked away again. "...Forget it." he muttered under his breath, "It doesn't matter." He had no doubts they would both laugh again if it came down to it. Sonia just continued to pick the tangles from LaRae's hair, careful not to pull it. She found several pieces of leaves and twigs stuck in her hair from where they had been sleeping on the ground. Once she got most of the tangles out she started to run the brush through it lightly, smoothing it all out. She smiled and ran her fingers through it a few times. "There, that's better." she said softly as she climbed off the bed again and went to put the brush and comb back on the dresser. |
Aamori merely stuck her tongue out at Kanone when he glared back at her. Thats what he got for not listening to her when she said she didn't like being patted on the head by him. She glanced over to the older man when he said to come inside. She went up onto the porch and then followed after Hikari, into the house. She stood quietly for a moment when she heard Kyran and Hikari apologizing to Celestine and then averted her eyes.
Kyran looked at Celestine and shook his head lightly. "...Apparently it does matter or else you wouldn't have reacted the way you did." He said quietly before looking away. He gave a sigh. "So.. What are we here for anyway.. Celestine?" He asked, changing the subject. LaRae continued to sit on the bed for a few moments after Sonia had finished with her hair. She watched when she went to put the brush and comb away and then reached up to take her hair and pull it in front of her. She smiled a little feeling it tangle free as she ran her fingers through it. She'd become so used to the way it had been, it felt nice now and was a little soft also. "...Thank you." She said quietly before looking back over at Sonia. Her eyes trailed off towards the door for a moment and then fell on her feet. She really didn't want to leave the room dressed like this; She was just so uncomfortable. |
Kanone just went to stand off to the side of the couch and glanced at Celestine, shaking his head. He sighed softly and then ran his fingers back through his dripping hair, rolling his eyes. He looked like he'd just crawled out of the shower.
Marius closed the door once everyone was inside and then walked back to the living room, sitting down in a chair off to the side of the sofa. There were two other chairs there that were directly across from the sofa and two more cushions on the sofa, which really made just enough seats for everyone. "Yes, why are you here, Celestine?" He asked, looking over to the boy. He smiled warmly and sighed as he settled back in the chair, "I doubt that you came all the way down from your little hiding place just to say hello." he said simply as he brushed his long backs away from his eyes. When he moved his hair a mark just like the one on Celestine's head was just partially visible. Celestine sighed and uncrossed his arms before looking up to Kyran and then over to Marius. "...I need you to tell me how to find the forbidden temple." he said simply. Marius looked at Celestine for a few moments and then shook his head. "I am afraid that I can't tell you that." he said simply. Celestine nearly rolled his eyes and huffed before standing up and looking at Kyran. "Can I see that paper that your elder gave you?" he said simply, holding out his hand. Sonia smiled again and shook her head. "Don't mention it, dear." She said with a soft laugh. "I could hold you captive in here all day playing with your hair." she told her. "You look beautiful already." she said with a smile. "Well, I'll go start the wash." She said as she gathered up her dirty clothes and started for the doorway. |
Kyran wasn't really all that surprised to hear that was why Celestine had come here. He'd been waiting to find out who Celestine was going to ask. He looked at Celestine for a moment when he asked for the paper and then started patting his pockets not quite remembering which one it was in. "Hmm... Where did I put that.." He said quietly. He did however finally find it. He unbuttoned his vests chest pocket; The one opposite of where he had kept the handkerchief. He reached in and pulled out the paper that Celestine asked for and then handed it to him without any questions.
Aamori glanced over at Kanone catching him running his fingers through his hair and chuckled lightly before sticking her tongue out at him again. Setting all of that aside for a moment she looked back to Celestine when he started to inquire about that temple he'd mentioned earlier. She gave a soft sigh and continued to stand quietly watching while Kyran fished around for that paper. She was just glad that he hadn't left it somewhere like with the thunder relic. LaRae looked up at Sonia briefly and gave a soft, slightly nervous chuckle when she heard that she could keep her captive all day playing with her hair. At least then she wouldn't have to leave the room then... She offered a weak smile when she yet again received another compliment. She then just started at Sonia when she said she was going to start the wash and had taken her dirty clothes. The look on her face was practically screaming 'Don't leave me here without those!' She gave a heavy sigh and looked back down where her clothes were and saw her boots. At least she was still able to wear those. Though... she wasn't so sure that combat style boots went with a flowy dress. She could only hope she didn't have to leave the house any time before her clothes were done being washed. |
Celestine tilted his head slightly as he waited for the paper and then sighed when it took him so long to find it. He finally took the paper and unfolded it, looking it over briefly before walking rover to Marius and pointing to something. "That is your signature, isn't it?" he asked simply, giving the man a bit of a look. "You are one of the ones that decided to send me on this crazy quest. I know where the relic is, the least you could do is tell me how to get there." He said simply as he rolled the paper back up. "I suppose you don't need to read this since you signed it." He said, handing it back to Kyran. Apparently he'd only wanted it to make a point.
Hikari blinked when Celestine said that Marius' signature was on the paper. Did that mean that he was an elder? He was gaining in age, but she wasn't sure he looked quite old enough to be an elder. Then again, she didn't know how elders were chosen here, either. Marius sighed and nodded. "Yes, that is my signature." he said simply, "I am not denying you access to the temple, Celestine, I simply cannot tell you where it is." He said simply. "How can I tell you something that you already know? You have the ability to find the temple on your own. You have already seen it once." "All I saw was a jumbled pile of bullshit that I couldn't make heads nor tails of!" he said irritably. "That is because you weren't paying attention." He said simply, keeping his voice calm. He sighed heavily and sat up straighter, looking into Celestine's face silently. "...Your father was one of the strongest warriors in the village, and your mother was a gentle healer. You have the characteristics of both of them--" "I didn't come here to talk about my parents!" he snapped, trying to cut him off. Marius didn't seem the least bit phased by Celestine's temper and just continued to speak calmly. "You have so many talents and abilities, but you do not use them." He set back int he chair again and shook his head. "You can find what you're looking for on your own, you need no help from me." he told him again. Celestine just stared at him, looking frustrated again. "How!?" he demanded, "How am I suppose to find this place!? I've never even stepped foot in that forest before!" "The same way that you know the temple is there in the first place." he said simply, "You are starting to get rings around your eyes. Stop trying to avoid what you see and just look. If you don't hone you abilities then you won't be able to see what you need to." "I don't want to hone my abilities, I want them to go away!!!" he shouted as he balled his hands into fists at his sides. He had his hands balled up so tightly that his claws were actually cutting into his palms. Marius just looked at him and sighed softly, actually giving him a sympathetic look. "...I know." he said softly, "But that's not the way things work." Kanone shook his head and finally walked over to Celestine, putting his hands on his shoulders. "Calm down, Celestine." He said in an oddly gentle voice. "You're going to start bleeding on the carpet here in a minute." He said as he glanced down to his hands. Sonia just gave LaRae another smile before she slipped out of the room and went to the bathroom to gather up Celestine and Hikari's clothes that she'd stuffed in the hamper, along with whatever else was in there, and then headed down to get started on washing them. |
Kyran quirked a brow slightly when he heard Celestine point out that Marius had signed the paper. He hadn't really been paying attention to any of the signatures on the paper, then again he hadn't really looked at it closely. Once he received it from his Elder it stayed in his pocket. He took the paper back once Celestine had handed it to him and then started to put it back into the pocket he had removed it from. He gave a soft sigh and started to rebutton the pocket while he listened to Celestine slowly getting more and more upset. This conversation was definitely going down hill. He kept quiet throughout the exchanges just listening and piecing things together. Apparently Celestine had a few secrets that he didn't share, one of them all too obvious now was that he was a dream seer; Or at least that is what he was gathering from the conversation.
Aamori gave a heavy sigh after listening to the back and forth between Celestine and Marius. She shook her head seeing how upset Celestine had gotten, and to the point that he'd tightened his fists so much he was cutting himself. She was starting to think now that him getting upset before now probably wasn't helping matters, but then again Celestine probably would've gotten upset even if everyone hadn't laughed at him. She crossed her arms over her chest tightly and averted her eyes. She wasn't so sure she could stand here quietly through too much more of Celestine's frustration. LaRae watched as Sonia left the room and then she gave a heavy sigh as she got up off of the bed. She really was incredibly uncomfortable but as it stood now, she had nothing else to wear since Sonia made off with her clothes. She wandered back over to the mirror timidly to look again. She just kind of stared blankly in the mirror for a minute before turning slightly so she could see the back of the dress. The dress was really pretty, even if it was exposing her back and her marking. She just felt so awkward dressed like this, she wondered how Hikari and Aamori could stand to dress like they did. And where was the fun in putting on dressy clothes? By no means did she enjoy herself trying to put this dress on. She gently tossed her hair back over her shoulder and let it fall back over the mark on her back before she walked back over to pick up her boots. She didn't want to leave them in Sonia's room, but then again she didn't really want to leave. Regardless of what Sonia had said, she was still embarrassed to be in a dress. She gave another sigh and started to walk over to the doorway and stepped out into the hall. She came to stop at the top of the stairs and lingered there, seriously thinking about going right back into the room. |
Celestine finally looked over to Kanone and then back to Marius again. He just stared into those calm and sympathetic eyes of his for a moment before his shoulders finally sagged and he sighed. His ears fell back and he just backed up, sinking down onto the couch with a look of utter defeat on his face. He hated having these visions; all he wanted was to make them stop, and there was no stopping them. The older he got the stronger they became. Apparently he really didn't have much of a choice, he was going to have to look for himself. "...You're no help." He muttered under his breath.
Marius smiled weakly and stood up again, moving over to sit beside him on the couch. He sat down next to him and draped his arm around him. "You may not exactly be my grandson, but you've always been close enough. I can help you more by not helping you at all. You'll thank me some day." he said as he rubbed Celestine's arm. Celestine just sighed heavily and fell over against him, closing his eyes. He was still obviously worn out, and getting pissed off only drained him even more. "Whatever..." Kanone just half smiled and shook his head. "Yeah, speaking of grand children, this one's heading back to the house to get a dry shirt." he said simply as he started for the door. There really wasn't much of a point in him coming all the way out here other than curiosity, and he'd found out what he wanted to know. Well actually he hadn't found out a whole lot, but still he was tired of listening. Hikari sighed softly and looked at Celestine. She really wasn't sure if she wanted to smack him or hug him, but right now she was leaning more toward a hug. He just looked kind of pitiful right this second, but she was sure he'd be back to spitting fireballs any minute. She didn't know what Marius meant by Celestine wasn't exactly his grand son. Apparently from what Kanone said this man was his grandfather, but apparently he wasn't related to Celestine. Then again, she really didn't know how Kanone and Celestine were related. She guessed Marius could be Kanone's grandfather from a different side of the family than Celestine. Nanashi had finished the fishes already and had finally come back into the living room again to sit down. He was just sitting on the side of the sofa that faced the right side of the room. He'd already seem Sonia come downstairs, now he was just waiting for LaRae. |
Kyran gave a soft sigh seeing as for the moment at least Celestine wasn't flying off the handle. He turned away slightly crossing his arms loosely over his chest, then brought a hand up slightly to his chin. He couldn't help thinking that they might be here longer then Celestine originally had planned, especially if he wasn't getting the directions he had wanted. He gave another sigh. Perhaps it was a good thing that they lucked out in Radha and finding the relic was pretty easy. He could only hope that if Celestine had trouble locating this temple and it took a lot of time, that one of the other relics would come as easy as his had. After all they only had five months to get all of the relics and complete the mission. He shook his head lightly and then dropped his hand back down so that both arms were crossed over his chest again. He glanced back over at Celestine briefly. "...Not to go spoiling your mood any worse then it already is, but when do you want to get started on this?" He asked lightly.
Aamori continued to stand there keeping herself quiet. Though her eyes widened momentarily when she heard her stomach growl again. She rather quickly shifted her hands and pressed one against her stomach while she glared down at it, as if doing so would tell it to shut up. She just hoped that it wasn't loud enough that anyone else heard. She really was wishing now that she hadn't left her breakfast. She gave a soft sigh and lifted her eyes up to watch Kanone walk towards the door. She started to follow after him, since nothing important was really being talked about; Not to mention she was interested in seeing her breakfast had survived. She jerked to a stop though, when she heard Kyran's question and heaved a heavy sigh as she turned back and walked over to where she was standing before. Leave it to Kyran to ask a question she'd need to stay and listen to the answer to. LaRae lingered at the top of the stairs for a moment longer and was about to just turn around and go back into Sonia's room; Though in the process of turning around she'd dropped one of her boots and it started to tumble down the stairs. She wasted very little time in descending after it. Though she wasn't too happy to see it laying just past the last step. She came to a stop just before reaching the end of the stairs and stared at her boot just laying there on the floor; Mocking her. She knelt down as best she could after setting the other boot down on the stairs next to her and then reached out to grab her other boot. Her arm was pretty much the only thing really visible while she reached past the end of the wall that encased the stairs and tried desperately to grab her boot. She stretched her fingers out and finally managed to grab hold of one of the laces that was looped up and then she started to pull it closer to her before it, along with her hand disappeared behind the wall again. |
