It was ironic her brother was so gifted in the Holy Arts. Listening to Kaylie she shook her head. "Don't go!" the angel replied. "You have every right to be here as much as anyone here," she added.

"There's no need to apologize, it's alright!" Celepas said quickly, after Kaylie tried to apologize for not mentioning her status. "Just relax... it doesn't matter to me anyways. Alan is just..." she sighed softly. When Kaylie nearly fell however, Celepas was there quickly to try and help support her.

"I know he is...." she said quietly. "He's Father's pride and joy really..." she added quietly. Celepas looked towards Kaylie then, using a hand to try and dry off errant tears.

"Let's just get you someplace safe, okay? This will all blow over I'm sure. Kids are quick to forget. I know of a good place if you'd like... someplace you can regather yourself undisturbed.." She paused then, sighing softly. "And.... and I'll try to help in any way I can too!" she added. "I swear it." She was worried for Kaylie, and what might happen next. Poor girl, why'd her brother have to react so vehemently?

((Oh dear, seems the drama has just started to brew then! *Giggles* I'm curious to meet her brothers Ill admit... Theres a reason Alans the way he is, but I'm not sure how to bring it up in the story. *laughs*))

"No, no, it's fine," she murmured, straightening finally, though her face was strained. "You see, I was expecting this to happen eventually, just not so soon..." She tucked her hair back again, then sighed. "Don't worry... I understand how brothers can be. Um... I wouldn't object to that 'someplace safe', though." She glanced around discreetly, all too aware of the murmurs and stares. "But you probably, um, sh-shouldn't hang around me too much. I don't want you to get in trouble with the administration because of me... I'm likely to get in trouble for lying about my heritage."

Grabbing her salad and dressing, she smiled as the last of the pain passed. "Lucky me, I'm a quick healer. Shall we go? Sorry that your lunch was disturbed." She paused, then paled slightly. "Oh, no... I'm going to have to tell my brothers..." She shook her head. "Um, it might be best to stay away from me next week, alright? I might have some... problems... to deal with." A smile crossed her face. "We should be good until then, though."

[Indeed... Mwahahaha. I dunno, maybe Alan and Kalie can get locked in a classroom and then have a shouting match as to whose past was worse? ^^; Oh, everyone's got their reasons for what they do. Tl'Kao has had his fair share of troubles that made him that way.]

"You were expecting this?" Celepas asked, then smiled softly. She expected it and yet still came. There was something to be said for that sort of bravery, and she wondered why others could not see that.

"Okay, follow me," Celepas said, leading the way to a place on the campus she considered like her safe haven. One of those places on campus, but where people tended to rarely go since it was a slight bit of a walk. When mentioned she should not hang around, Celepas shook her head. "Now, what sort of person would I be if I did that?" she asked, giving a light wink. "People don't abandon their friends at the first hint of trouble, you know?" She asked. "Whatever comes, I want to help see it through with you," she added.

That was simply how she was. It was... something that got her in trouble, since people liked to take advantage of it. But it was just how she was.

"Next week?" Celepas asked, confused. She could understand the now, but in a week? "Well, we'll worry about that when the time comes, you know. Ah! Here we go," the angel added, as they finally arrived. It was a place a bit of a distance behind the school, right behind the bleachers. A place where one could sit and eat, and it would be quiet since no classes were taking place here yet.

"I'm just glad you're okay though," she added, then sighed deeply. "You scared the feathers off of me!" she added, laughing softly as she sat down, and nodded towards a spot beside her. "And don't worry about lunch, I'm fine! I don't really eat much anyways..." her silver lupine ears were perked back up now, and her tail wasn't hiding behind her. For now, it seemed, things were a slight calmer.

((*snickers* Oooooh, that would be quite amusing indeed! *laughs* And I bet he does! Id actually be quite amused to see that play out. *is so evil > >* ))

Nodding, Kalie grit her teeth and followed Celepas, refusing to so much as glance at the students around her, forcing her posture to remain straight, eyes straight ahead. Once they were out of the cafeteria, her breath came easier, and her smile, though weary, returned to her face. This place the Celepas was leading her seemed to be in one of the few areas that Kalie hadn't had the time or will to explore in her time at Shile High. She chuckled then, grinning. "You are a far better friend, then, than many others I have seen who would claim the same title. You're... a good person."

Then she nodded. "Yes, next week- I'll explain later, it's really for the best, though." She blinked at the outburst, then glanced around. "Wow," she breathed. "It's so... serene..." She slowly lowered herself, beaming. "Oh, you don't have to worry about me. See, I can't be held in a perpetual state of suffering unless there is always someone assaulting me with holy powers, and they would tire long before I would break. The worst anyone can do to me is kill me, and then I would be reincarnated, so even that is not permanent." She paused, then offered the salad that she'd brought with her. "Do you want this? I only bring it with me to keep up appearances, it's actually pretty hard for me to digest human food."

[I'm sure we can... arrange it. *cackle* I can so picture another of my characters [an extreme religious nut, human] just like shoving them into the classroom and being all 'PURIFY HER ASS, ALAN. D<']

((*snickers* I can actually see that too :P *Lives in the deep south surrounding by nuts* Sorry this replys so late, I had to go to bed early. Have to be in at work at 6 AM. *Groans*))

Celepas blushed brightly at this, her cheeks lighting up red. It was a phrase she had actually never heard before. Between ones who thought she was too holy because she was an angel, and one who thought her not holy enough, this was soemthing altogether new. "I try to be," she finally replied, taking a moment to look up at the skies. "I try to be the best I can.... the world already has far too many bad people in it," she joked.

"It is isn't it? Most people forget this place even exists!" she explained. "I came across it quite by accident myself, not even my brother knows about it." She listened to the explanation with a tilted head, one ear flopping over as she did so.

"Reincarnation?" she asked, fascinated. When the salad was offered to her she again blushed brightly. "Thanks," she replied, and one might notice her tail wagging a slight behind her. She then thought a moment, then grinned.

"Kaylie... you know, you're not a bad person yourself," she commented, hoping her friend already knew this.

Kalie grinned and laughed. "Yeah, there are far too many 'bad' people in this world..." She hesitated for a moment. "That's what my parents and brothers say. They say that the above-ground is far too dangerous a place for me... I still think they're wrong. Even I can see that the good outweighs the bad." Looking around, she closed her eyes for an instant, inhaling deeply. "It's so beautiful. Glorious- you were really lucky to come across this place, especially if it was an accident."

Then she nodded, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. "I know that most people now-a-days don't believe in Reincarnation... But I do. I know my soul has been through more than just this lifetime, as has yours and your brother's." A bright blush stole over her face at Celepas' compliment, and she brushed her hair back. "Th-thank you..."

She tilted her head, then glanced at Celepas. "Um... I do not mean to be rude... but considering the mythology and confusion on the subject, I must ask... Is there truly a one 'god', or the multitudes like many believe? Ah, i-if you do not wish to answer, I understand..."

[How far 'deep south'? I used to live in Arizona, myself, but even though it's technically in the south it's considered a southwestern state. We Arizonan's aren't considered southerners. And ewww. Early work = not good. *patpat* My sympathies, friend.]

Celepas nodded. "Yeah... this is a nice little hiding spot for one just wants to get away from it all," she agreed, relaxing back in the grass. "And well... we have dangers around here, but it is how you meet them that counts. Is it... quite a bit different where you came from?" Celepas asked, curious. She had only heard the stories from her family, and none were ever very pleasant. She wondered if those stories were wrong as well, stories about fire and brimstone.

"Really?" Celepas asked, when it came to reinarnation. She pondered that a moment, and smiled. "That's actually kinda cool. So, even if we don't remember it, the soul always would and with each lifetime grow, right?" she asked. "I wonder where I was..." She smiled seeing Kaylie blush so brightly.

Were compliments rare for her as well?

When asked about god or gods, Celepas pondered. "Well... it all depends on who you ask," she said quietly. Her brother would chide her for this she knew, but she felt the need to say it anyways. "As long as there is someone to believe in a god, then they shall continue to exist. If only for that one believer, although their power would be stronger with a larger following. That is why the one called God is so strong." She frowned a slight.

"In history... they mentioned how to make God stronger his followers would try and erase the believers of other immortals. Many of the former Gods vanished with their followers... but many still exist in secret. Of course that isn't what we're asked to believe," she added. "Er... did any of that make sense?" she asked, then sighed softly.

"Brother always says I sound like a blasphemer with my 'wild theories' though..." she added quietly. "But I was curious and with enough research, that is what I discovered."

((South carolina. *nods* I used to live in Arizona as a smaller kid :3 Lived out in Glendale but went to the mountains and other areas to visit at times. Pretty cool! Haha, thanks, least I survived for anotehr day! *Giggles*))

Kalie leaned back, closing her eyes and conjuring up a mental picture of her home. "Well..." She smiled slightly. "Yes, my home is rather different than here. It's warmer, for one- always dark, but we always have fires going in every section of the community. We- demons, that is- we live in large clusters, and rarely visit other communities because the trips are long and dangerous. When we do risk it, it's usually to find a... a... well, I suppose you would call it a 'spouse', but really, it's rare for demons to stay together for longer than it takes to create a child." She opened her eyes, staring at the sky. "My parents were one of the rare couples to actually stay together... I'm the only demon I know of that actually has full-siblings." She blinked a few times. "And we always fear. Always- we're immortal, invulnerable to anything above ground, but we're the lowest on the food chain underground, where we've been driven by other races. I think... I think I am the first demon to see the sky in at least nine generations, the first in even longer to actually live above-ground."

She turned her head to gaze at Celepas while the girl talked. "... That makes sense. In general, demons don't worship gods. The only deity we believe in is The Goddess- I suppose the opposite to most people's 'God'." She chuckled. "It is nice to know that we are not blindly believing in something that does not exist, though." Sitting up straight, she tilted her head and smiled. "Blasphemer? There is no such thing. If one says there is no god, then for them, there is no god. 'Blasphemy' is just a term thought up by those who are frightened of what may happen should their 'God' or 'Goddess' be denied. Anyone who truly believed would not be shaken by simple words."

[Ooh. I see. I lived in Arizona for eight years- from the time I was five to when I was thirteen. I lived in Mesa, just outside of Phoenix, but I loved to go up to Sedona. It was so pretty... Odd, though, that I never did end up seeing the Grand Canyon. owo]

What Kaylie described was really almost the opposite of how Celepas herself lived. Families were usually large and close, almost like miniature communes in themselves. Everyday the sky was with them, and light. Lots of light. So much so she knew a few angels afraid of the dark. Although why she could never fathom. The dark brought pretty sights too, like the moon and the stars.

"I see... you really are quite brave Kaylie. What made you decide to come here out of curiosity? I'm glad you did, I'm just curious..." she admitted, blushing brightly. She could not help but smile at Kaylie's response.

"Thanks," she said. "It's just a really harsh word to use still," she admitted, shaking her head. "But... before she passed... Momma taught me to be open-minded. She told me, to learn as much as I could and make as many friends as possible. To see the world with an open eyes, and an open heart. This much I promised her," she added, then blushed.

"Ooops, I rambled a bit," she admitted, shaking her head. "But... it's really good to know you at least had a family," she added, smiling once more. "Family is... important. It really is. I bet you have an interesting one too, right?" she asked munching upon her salad once more.

((I did but was too little to remember it. Mesa... I remember of that place. :3 We went to phoenix a time or two, also Flagstaff for vacations. :3 But the base had the most awesome thing of all... hot air ballooon races! It was incredible! ))

"I dunno. You know how humans threaten their children with 'watch out or the demons will get you!' Demons do the same thing, only we use humans as our threat. My brothers both used to terrify me with stories of the atrocious things humans do. But as I got older, I guess I just got braver. It was after I brought home a spider three times bigger than I was and asked if we could keep it that Mother said that I could survive anything, even humans. I guess that just sparked my curiosity, and I decided that once I got old enough, I'd come up and see what humans were really like!"

She nodded, smiling. "That's good. Your mother sounds like she was a wonderful person. And it seems to me you've kept that promise well." She coughed at the mention of her family being interesting, bringing her thumb up to her mouth and nervously biting at the nail. "Well, um, I suppose you could say that. They certainly are... interesting. Mother is the strict parent- a single word from her can make anyone in our community stop in their tracks, regardless of age. Father's usually out working, and my brothers... Well... Ci`aran is very interested in the political relations of races, and Tl'Kao..." She paled slightly. "Well, he's one of the ones who revel in misconceptions about Demons."

She chuckled softly, brushing her hair back. "But I love them all the same. What about you, is it just you and your brother?"

[Bah. XD Doesn't count if you don't remember. Me, I went the the Grand Canyon when I was about a year old-ish, so I don't remember. Therefore, it doesn't count. XDDDD Ooh, sounds like it.]

"Well... humans can do some terrible things, but they also do some very good things as well. It has always been interesting to me, those two sides to themselves are almost always in conflict. But... when they do nice things it is a wonderful sight to see," she finished, smiling. She had often wondered why they did not do more nice things, but she supposed that was just the way it was.

"She was..." Celepas blushed brightly then. "Thanks. I try, you know? I could not do anything for her hen, but I can keep her promise now," she added. She did not remember all of the details, but that was alright. She had actually been quite small at the time. She listed about Kaylie's family with full attention, picturing the group in her mind.

"I see..." she added. "I bet things certainly keep lively at your place then!" she added. Oh dear, those brothers... she wondered a slight how they had reacted when Kaylie had gone aboveground?

"Yes, family might have their faults but they're lovable just the same," she said, and would have been worried had Kaylie said otherwise! "My family hmmm? Well..." She paused a moment, considering how to put things.

"Currently, it is just my older brother and my Father. You met Alan, he... he didn't always used to be like that," she said quietly. "I remember him when I was very young, when Mom was still around, being quite the opposite really. And even now, he's still a loving, caring older brother. He's a bit overprotective, but a good guy. Same can be said for Dad. Dad's usually working, but he keeps the house running smoothly. I help keep it maintained myself. He's stern, and a bit biased upon things, but never cruel. He also has a good sense of humor that pops about at random times..." She closed her eyes for a moment, before continuing.

"We used to live in a much larger group. Had my Grandmother, Grandfather, cousins, mom, dad, and I had three elder siblings too. But many of them moved away after the incident, and now its just my brother, father, and myself left." She didn't mention, however, about her three elder siblings. But one could take a guess by her expression when she mentioned them.

((Haha, I suppose not ;P A year eh? I was a bit older than that, Dad even brought me a piece of it to bring home. :3 We drove across it when coming to South Carolina actually. Yes, driving. THAT was a trip and a half... ))

"Yes, well. That is what it means to be human. To have a free will, to make choices. If you have the option to make choices, then you are bound to make a bad one somewhere along the line- the less you know, the more mistakes you make. It is just how they- how we- are created." Kalie sighed. "And when humans do good things, it's a fantastic experience. And I have no doubt that as the experience of the human race grows, so will the compassion."

She laughed at that. "Lively, yes, you could say that. They dislike me being aboveground, actually- except for Father, he just complains about having to feed Klii. Er, Klii being that giant spider I told you about... But at least I get to see them once a week, since I have to make sure Klii doesn't go on any rampages." She paused, then grimaced. "Regardless of how I make her sound, Klii is really sweet for a giant arachnid, truly."

Closing her eyes, she listened to what Celepas had to say about her family, smiling at the mental picture. "They seem interesting." She tilted her head then, frowning. "Moved away? That must be horrible- I don't know how I'd survive without the Community around me." She blinked, and shrugged gracelessly. "I suppose you're stronger than I am, though. Certainly, you seem more able to stand up for what you believe in. I'm afraid Father's non-confrontational nature has found a home in me."

She tilted her head, then sighed, standing up slowly. "The bell just rung. We should go... I'll see you tomorrow, though, in Elemental Magics?" At least, so she hoped- if Mother and Tl'Kao didn't tie her to her bed to keep her from leaving tomorrow...

[Ew. I'll bet... I hate driving. That's 'cuz of all the road trips mum and I have made, though. For ten years it was driving from AZ to Vegas to visit my dad, then it was movie, from Arizona to Michigan, Michigan to California, California to Texas, and Texas back to Michigan. It's safe to say that if I never have to take a road trip again, it will be way too damn soon. XD]

Celepas nodded, much in agreement. In time, it might be truly wonderful to see how the human race grew. She imagined they would be able to accomplish many wonder things.

"I bet Klii's quite amusing to have around though!" she added, trying to picture a giant spider but having a hard time with it! "It sounds like you really love the big girl," she added, smiling slightly broader.

When it was mentioned about her family, Celepas frowned a sliht as well. "They... they had their reasons. They were afraid, and we can still come visit them anytime," she replied. She blushed then, shaking her head. "Er... well... it's just that if I don;t stand up for what I believe in, who will?" she asked softly. She blushed quite brightly when it was mentioned about the bell. She shook her head, standing up as well.

"Yeah, tomorrow then," Celepas said, giving a big grin. "Take care of yourself until then okay? I had a lot of fun hanging out with you!" she asked.

* * * * *

Alan meanwhile, was walking off towards his next class still in quite the foul mood. If anyone dared say hi or disturb him, he merely gave a glare which caused them to quickly back down. It was clear the angel was in no mood for dealing with anyone today.

'She just doesn't understand... UGH! I knew something like this would happen one day. I must remedy it before things get too complicated. Sis... why did you have to be so much like Mother?' he thought to himself.

((*laughs* I totally agree! They're a pain in the butt! We've been on 3 I believe roundtrip ones. Oy. Haha, Im that way about moving period, being a military brat. Kalie beamed as she jogged off, making a mental note to bring a picture of Klii to school tomorrow. Celepas definitely wouldn't be as shocked and disgusted as most people when faced with a picture of a fifteen foot tall spider, and the demoness really did love her pet. Who didn't want to show off their pet? Admittedly, a spider was an unorthodox pet... Practically glowing, she skidded by the doors, then backtracked, laughing at herself. It was strange to have a friend, if this was the way it made one feel. She made it to her locker and pulled out the book for her next class, oblivious to glares and frightened murmurs as she practically skipped along. She didn't notice one particular set of angry ayes trained on her, or a tall form slipping along behind her quietly.

She did, however, notice when, halfway to her class, she nearly ran into a tall form with silver hair and a cold glare. "O-Oh. I'm s-sorry!" Backing away, she felt another form behind her back, and then a feminine chuckle sounded. Before she had a chance to whip around, she was shoved forward, slamming into Alan, the both of them propelled into an empty classroom.

The door clicked behind them, and the same voice laughed. "No windows, locks from the outside. No wonder no one uses this classroom. Purify that demoness' ass, Alan." Groaning, Kalie pushed herself off of Alan, scrambling back until her back had hit the wall and staring at him, wide-eyed and terrified.

Shit...

[Mwuahahahahaha~ As you can see, I took you up on that. The cameo voice was Chelsea, a half-ogre religious nut. She another of mah babies. <3 Oh? I've had people ask me if I was a military brat after I've told them about all my moving... ._. 'It's is all just completely irresponsible and stupid! How could the faculty allow for a DEMON to enter schoolgrounds, much less be taught here?' Alan thought to himself. He had been so distracted with these thoughts, he hadn't a chance to react when he was slammed into. Before he could even turned around, that became a shove.

"Hey! Watch where you are go.. ing... YOU!" he shouted, his eyes narrowing upon the sight of poor Kaylie.

Hearing the feminine voice on the other side, he chuckled a slight. "As though I would do otherwise?" he asked. He did not approve of the methods, certainly not. But, he supposed, this way he would finally get a chance to avert this crisis before it started. Although, it was curious as to why this girl cringed. Should she not fight back?

"Why do you cower so... stand and fight! Or are you afraid of getting what is coming to you, laying such elaborate traps?" he asked, his voice cold as ice, his eyes much the same. "But I am a fair angel. Tell me what your evil plans were, why you are here. Who your accomplices might be. Or perhaps you wish to plead your case? Tell me why I should not bring my power down upon you?" He receded his holy power with a deep breath, so Kaylie could speak.

"You have five minutes," he told her. "I suggest you make the most of them." He would show this demon no mercy, and prove himself to be an exemplary member of his race! Oh yes, he would make the other angels proud after he was done in THIS classroom to be sure...

((Wow, you're as mean as I am to my charries! *snickers* Hmmm... but if you are offered the change to go to Germany I definitely would! The experience would be once in a lifetime, something you'd always remember right? And ah, I bet you have quite the bit of fun with Chelsea! *Giggles* I keep getting tempted to have a cameo or so in here, but I ain't sure how to work it out yet. I have a pair of twins I adore to death, half angel, half demon. The boy is such a bishy though... *sighs* Haha, but I'm rambling off track again! *snickers* Just got home from work x-x ))

Trembling, Kalie dug her teeth into her lower lip hard enough to taste blood, mingling with the salt left from tears that escaped her eyes. What was she supposed to say? "You..." Her voice shook as well. "Why...? Why are you doing this to me? What have I ever done to you!? WHAT HAVE DEMONS EVER DONE TO YOU?" Panting, she buried her face in her knees, knowing that her five minutes of speaking were liable to get her killed, but unable to stop the direction her words were going in. "YOU obviously don't follow the stereotype for Angels, so why do you assume that I will follow the stereotype for demons?"

"You want to know why you shouldn't 'bring' your oh-so-fair power down on me? Let me tell you then- I'll probably be dead in less than a year anyways just from where MY PEOPLE are forced to live by people like YOU! You want to know what we did to deserve being driven underground where even we Immortals cannot survive? We EXISTED, and horrible people like you who just can't fucking accept what is different from you drove us away because you couldn't understand that no, we won't die if speared through the stomach! Big whoop. Instead of letting us help you fight your battles, you turned against us when all we ever did was exist and help you!"

"My family told me that above-ground creatures were horrible, prejudicial races... I didn't believe them, so I came to learn and make something of myself anyways. I thought there had to be something good to offset all the bad things you creatures have done. It seems I was wrong. But you know what? If it'll make you feel better and satisfy your narrow-minded idiocy, then kill me. Do it! Don't mind the fact that I have a family that will mourn my passing, that my brothers will blame themselves, that my mother will cry and my father will be left to pick up the pieces of my broken family. Don't mind the fact that I can feel pain just as much as you can. That I can laugh as well as anyone. That I can bleed as much as anyone, and my blood is as red as yours." Lifting her face, she wiped blood off her lip and held it out on trembling fingers.

"Go ahead, Alan. Kill me. I won't fight back, hell, I can't, I'm probably the weakest person at this school. But one last thing? Demons don't live in 'hell'. We live in a place far worse, and it's because of people like you."

[Ehehe... Kalie's been holding this in since she came to the surface. Bwahaha...
Yeah, I just need to remind mom to take the application in to the post office. =.= And indeed I do! She's actually a nice girl, pretty well-meaning. She's just got a psycho family that kind of screwed up her head. =3 And I'd love to see the twins! XD I'm sure we could find a nefarious plot for them to show up in... Kufufufufufu~ *coughcough* No, I'm not evil at all... ^^]

Alan arched a brow but did not interject, allowing her to have her full five minutes. I that, it was really only fair. The picture she painted was far different than any version he had ever heard to be certain. "Why should I believe any of this?" he finally asked, tapping a foot against the ground, arms crossed. Knowing full well he was in control over the situation. "When nothing you say makes sense! Why would hundreds of years of history be completely wrong? Why would my Father for that matter? Why should I believe you, over him. Explain to me this," he asked, his tone and eyes no less severe.

It was taking a great deal of self control, it really was. Control he forgot he really possessed. "As for why... preventive measures. I know what your kind are capable of. You deceive people, you lie... you trick the innocent. It is because of your kind my family ended up as splintered as it is!" His eyes flashed a moment at the very mention but he took in a sharp breath to speak with a rational mind.

"True to the stories of old, your kind possess humans. Possess them and cause them to do YOUR evil work so that you may not be harmed. You prey upon the weak minded, corrupt their souls, kill them from the inside out! One such person was in my Mother's care... do you want to know what he did? In the middle of the night! I mean... GAH! How can you sit here and say you and your kind are innocent? That man, possessed... and he isn't alone. There are other stories like it...." He tried hard not to get into the details of his personal life. Too much ammo for the enemy.

And yet, he did not direct her energy towards her. Almost as though he wished to be convinced not to use it. Instead, those cold eyes held to her, waiting for a response.

((*snickers* I bet she has! Id want to explode too! Yay psycho families! *Giggles* Haha, yay nefarious plots! :3 Sadly, I only have piccies of their adult forms though, but its amusing since they're so alike yet opposite. As ya might guess, one was raised by angels, the other demons. And it made a BIG difference :3 Heeee, Alan's such a dumbass ain't he? But the way I figure it, angels are supposed to be protectors, so they would not blame the humans but readily accept a choppy possessed by demons story :P))

"... Stories. You base your beliefs on stories by people who just want to get out of trouble and know full well that anyone will accept 'Oh I was possessed by a demon'? It doesn't even take half a brain to come up wit that excuse! Do you ever research what may have really happened? Well you want to know something? I don't base my beliefs on the words of murderers and fools." She had calmed considerably, tilting her head back to stare at the ceiling and unintentionally baring her throat to him. "Let me tell you a story- if I'm going to die, it's the least you can do."

She took a deep breath, and closed her eyes, remembering. "Five years ago, a very foolish young demon took her sister to the above-ground. She was too young to fully understand why she needed to be scared of humans, so she didn't tell anyone where she was going, believing that nothing would happen. She took her sister to a park. They had great fun on the swings, and the girl was just about to return home when she heard something meowing. A kitten! She was delighted and went to pick the poor thing up, convinced that her mother would let her keep it as a pet."

"She turned away for only a moment, and was thrown to the ground without warning. She was-" Kalie choked slightly, voice thick with held back tears. "She was so scared," she whispered. "They were the most beautiful two creatures she had ever seen, both fair-haired, with large, elegantly feathered wings. They forced her to watch as they tortured her sister with what she would later know as holy powers- but then, all she knew was that it was cold and that she couldn't breathe and that she couldn't help her sister."

Her voice broke on the last syllable, but still she continued. "They left them there when they heard something in the bushes, that innocent eleven year old girl and her sister. It was the kitten, stumbling blindly about. That girl tried to drag herself and her sister back home. Do you know who that girl was?" Tilting her head back to look at him, tears brimming in her eyes. "That girl was me. I sat under a tree for that entire night, with the kitten curled up by my foot and my sister in my lap, all three of us freezing to death. They both died," she confessed in a hushed voice. "I just wanted my sister to see the sunlight for a little bit. I j-just wanted..."

"She was two! Two years old, she was still a baby! What could she have possibly done to earn death by torture, having her lungs collapse inward after the onslaught of pain she could never have imagined existed!? Angels are supposed to be pure. You were charged with protecting, not humans, but all living creatures! What happened to that, huh? Was my sister not living when they were torturing her infant body? Was I not alive when they left us there to die? Why! WHY DID THEY KILL ALINEA?"

Biting back a harsh sob, she forced her breathing to slow, roughly wiping away the tears. "But I'm not judging you by that. Those Angels weren't you. I do not assume that all Angels are coldblooded murderers. So if a demon once somehow convinced a human to do something stupid, because I know for a fact that none of us are able to 'possess' anyone, then that was that single demon. What right have you to judge me or my kin by something that a demon we never knew did?"

Whimpering, she turned, tasting once more the blood on her lip. "Why, why, why... Why must everyone be so prejudiced?" Her whisper was quiet, his presence now ignored as she mourned. "Why must so many people insist on taking an innocent life just because of a web of lies and deceit started by a single stupid, stupid being? Alinea... Linny...!" Sobbing, she curled into a ball, her body shaking as she remembered her sister. "I'm sorry I couldn't stop them..."

[=3 I dunno what happened to Alan's family, but Kalie sure isn't afraid to give 'ammo to her enemy' xDD Poor kid. *petpet* Ooh, piccies~? Give give! I'll give you pictures of Ci`aran and Tl'Kao in exchaaange~ *tempts* Mwaha, indeed that makes sense. What Angels seem to forget is that they're supposed to protect all living beings, not just humans. Demons are living, non? *chuckle*]

Alan inhaled sharply as he quite vividly remembered a pair of angels... bragging about that event. He had been quite young at the time, but he remembered it clear as day just the same. Of course, he had heard but one side of it. He had seen the results, and how the angels were praised as heroes for protecting the human race for another day and keeping the earth safe from the demon's influence.

They had certainly not mentioned the demons were children, much less that they had not 'fought.' It was certainly no valiant battle, as he had heard, this was soemthing altogether different. It startled him really, just how stark the contrast was between the two sides. But there certainly was no denying the power of her emotions after.

...Demons had emotions. Certainly another myth completely shattered in his face. He would ask if she was half-demon, except he certainly new better. And... demons could cry. And she had a very valid point that made him grimace a slight. Had not his own Mother preached that? His head could almost split, and he found if he could swear now would have been the time.

He stood but a moment longer, seeing her curled up in a ball and crying. Her pain... it was very real. And it was a feeling he could sympathize well with. The pain of being left behind. He could not believe he was about to do this, but he sat down beside the demon and exhaled deeply.

"I am not going to kill you..." he finally said. "If anything... I can relate." He grimaced a slight. "It... hurts to be left behind, especially when you see everything that happens," he added, shaking his head. Somehow, try as he might, he couldn't see her as an enemy at the moment. He had been expecting her to stand and fight with everything she had... he had been expecting what he had heard from stories. He had been expecting the complete opposite of what was before him. "And I am not about to inflict that upon anyone else, your family included..."

"When I was young, about seven or so, my mother took a starving human into our home. We angels pride ourselves in protecting the less fortunate, and my mother was no exception. He stayed in our place for about a month actually, and we all became pretty fond of him. Celepas treated him much like a brother, and my other two sisters adored him as well. But one night, I awoke to a crash..." He grimaced.

"I ran into my sister's room and found the human and a few accomplices. They had bags of out possessions, the few family heirlooms we carried, and then some. And... in a free hand they each carried various weapons, bleeding weapons. My sisters, my mother, were already gone. Celepas was in Mom's arms, protected. My Father was there as well, I had arrived just in time to hear the human scream about demons."

He hung his head. "Father replied because demons were involved, it was alright to finish them. Afterwards, he reaffirmed the fact it was not the humans fault but the demons, like the humans had said. I... I believed hi," he added. He looked towards Kaylie then.

"But... I had my doubts. I tried to bury them deep, try to be the exemplary angel my Father wished. But... heh... you... you're proof, you know that?" he asked. "You're proof we're wrong..." He had a hand holding his head as he thought.

What to do now? He looked back towards Kaylie. "I am... sorry for your loss. I am. I never thought I would say that, but I am," he added. "Your version is nowhere near the story I was told... but it rings true." He held out his hand then, his golden eyes reflecting regret.

"Let's do this properly hmmm? My name is Alan, what's yours?"

((Man, that took me forever to type! o.o Apparently, haha, aww, but this is a good thing :3 Alan opened up :P See, I told ya hes a good guy! His dad though... grrr.... His words took a few moments to fully penetrate her self-made cocoon of guilt and mourning, and she flinched back when he sat next to her, hands curled over her head protectively. When the words finally registered, her response was wide eyes and a hoarsely whispered, "You're not...?" Wiping the tears off of her face, she slowly uncurled, letting her legs sprawl in front of her while her hands lay limply in her lap. She watched his face as he told his tale, eyes brimming with tears unshed as the horrible tragedy unfolded, words ringing in her ears. Then she smiled bitterly.

"Don't be sorry for my loss- it's long past now, and 'sorry' isn't going to do anything to help. But thank you for the sentiment, it's appreciated." She exhaled slowly, then took his hand gingerly, almost afraid that it was a trick. "My name is Kalie. I think you should know that I'm a demon," she teased, smile playing on her lips. "That won't be a problem, now will it?"

Sighing, she leaned back, tilting her head back and staring at the ceiling. "To be completely fair and honest, I have to warn you, what I know of demons is only of two Communities, the one I live in and the one that my Mother came from- for all I know, there could be other Demons out there terrorizing humans just for shits and giggles. Every Demon is as different as every Human is, so there are 'bad' demons, just as there are 'bad' humans and 'bad' ogres and 'bad' hobgoblins. My brother..." She swallowed.

"My eldest brother is one of those, he rather likes that humans are afraid of him though he'd never truly hurt anyone on purpose. Just... you should know, there is 'bad' and there is 'good'. If you think you're in danger from a Demon, watch the eyes... when we're angry, our eyes have flames dancing in them."

Grimacing, she used the wall to push herself up, pressing her hand against her stomach. "Tche." Looking down at him, she offered her hand, noting that the halls outside of the door were quiet. "The bell must have already rung. Shall we try to find a way to get the door open? I'm not sure about you, but when the fact that I'm not the human I signed up for this school as gets around to the faculty, I'll already be on a thin wire- I don't think I can really afford to miss class."

[Meep, sorry, I got really busy what with dying my hair and shoveling snow and getting sick. =X Hee! I can see the resemblance... They're both so adorable! I want to hug them!!! Yeh, you showed me Celepas. Okay, so this is Kalie's brother, Ci`aran, who is eighteen, and this is Tl'Kao, who is twenty-two. And of course you've seen Kalie's picture. Oh, and for future reference, Kalie's mom is about three hundred years older than Kalie's dad. XDDD]

"Heh... you're a strong kid," Alan replied, finding himself smiling a slight despite himself. He had thought otherwise, but mere moments ago. But... hey. Don't tell the old folks, but even angels could be wrong sometimes.

"Hey, it only makes sense," he added with a shrug. I never wanted to believe it myself... its far easier to protect others when you have a scapegoat. But it's the same with people... and even angels I suppose," he added with a grimace.

"In fair warning, if my Father ever sees you, the result would be far different than our meeting today. So, I understand entirely." When asked if that would be a problem he flushed a slight, before shaking his head.

"Heh... no," he replied, before taking her offered hand and getting up as well. "But the fact is, you're going to be up against a lot coming here, especially the days ahead. So... watch yourself. I'd hate to think soemthing would happen to you. 'Cause... if you make Celepas cry, then I really will have a reason to hurt you," he added, glancing towards the hallway.

"I suppose you are right," he added, considering this. He looked towards the locked door then. "But first we need a way out. Can you melt the lock? My best abilities are with water, ice, and holy magic and none of which will help..." he added with a grimace.

His Father would have a heart attack, finding out a purebred angel like Alan had just asked help of a demon. But... perhaps that wasn;t really a bad thing. He thought of how happy his other had always been, versus how... sad and angry his Father usually was. And, suddenly, things seemed clearer in a way. Now he knew why.

((Snow? o.o And sick? Yuck! ><; I feel for ya! Aren't they cute? Teeheee, though as I said, I dunno how to introduce 'em yet. In this storyline, they wouldn't have met yet even! And wow, her brothers are quite handsome indeed! :3 Especially tl'Kao. :3 300 huh? Woooow, talk about robbing the cradle! :P))

Kalie smiled, shrugging. "I understand that not everyone can be as understanding and open as Celepas," she said. "And someone had to have made you as stubborn as you are," she teased. "Who else other than your father? Don't worry, I have no intention of ever meeting your father, for the sake of my health and sanity." She fell silent for a few moments, then rubbed at her arm nervously. "Then you, um... can you try to convince her to stay away from me unless I approach her next week? I have to go home tomorrow, and my brothers are going to sense the holy powers that you, erm, assaulted me with... They're a bit over-protective, so they'll probably follow me to school, and I really don't want them to over-react and attack her for coming near me."

"And don't worry about me," she continued. "The worst that they can do without having to go up against an entire community of demons is expel me, and even then they'll have some heavy opposition. As for the students, I'm pretty sure most of them are too terrified to try anything." She studied the doorknob and sighed. "I can melt it, but it will take a while, and I'm not sure if I can do it in one go. For all that my nature is tied in with fire, I don't have very much energy to use on magic usually."

Kneeling by the door, she placed both palms near the doorknob and closed her eyes, pulling up the fire element and tugging on the connection, pulling it out of thin air. The doorknob began to glow brightly after several minutes, and she could already feel the strain on her, both from not having eaten in a week [which was about as long as she could really go] and from earlier. She increased the temperature gradually, until the air around her was enough to melt any human instantaneously, and the doorknob began to melt... slowly. She herself felt the heat, but just gritted her teeth, knowing that as painful as it would get, it wouldn't truly affect her. Upside to being a demon.

[Yeah. ^^ They're so squishy-looking. Hehe, I know- personally, I think Ci`aran's prettier, but Tl'Kao's just... *le sigh* XDD Yep. Guess there's something to be said for being long-lived; no one can really tell you that your partner is too old for you! ^^]

"Stubborn?!?" Alan asked, a brow raised. "Wherever did you get that idea? Hmph," he added, folding his arms. "I am NOT stubborn. More like.... strong-willed," he corrected. Stubborn indeed! Hmph!

He pondered the next and nodded. "Heh... I'll see what I can do. She's a bit stubborn, but I'll try." Their Father was going to freak anyways, for much the same and yet opposite reason.

He watched wit a brow arched once more as she worked upon the doorknob. Interesting ability. Certainly quite useful in this case. "Sounds like you will have your hands full with your bothers. Heh... they come here and start trouble though, and I'll do what I must," he added quietly. "If they try to start a fight or hurt my sister in any way.... but let us hope it does not come down to that," he added quickly, sighing a slight.

((Heehee, squishy! Heck, both boys are pretty. :3 I'm still plotting. I'm thinking Wraith's sis would like to meet him, so calls a neutral place topside to do so. Maybe somehow they get pulled in that way? And heeehee, true! :3 Yay long-lived! I have a chaos child like that. She's pretty ancient. x-x; And iiiick, this turned out shorter than Id have kiked x-x))

Kalie didn't even dignify his denial with a response, merely raising an eyebrow, followed shortly by the other, both nearly disappearing into her hairline before she waggled them at him, the rest of her expression so utterly and exaggeratedly calm that the picture was made hilariously disturbing. Then she chuckled, face relaxing. "She is NOT stubborn, more like strong-willed," she taunted.

Sighing, she returned to her work, sweat beading on her brow, but from the effort rather than the heat. "Mm," she replied. "Ci`aran is not that bad, simply intimidating... he has quite a fan following back in the Community, though. Apparently girls like men who brood. Who knew? Tl'Kao would be the one to keep your eye on- you'll know which one he is." Biting down hard on her lower lip and tasting blood once more, she put a final burst of energy into it before collapsing backwards, her head hitting the floor with a dull thud.

The remains of the doorknob cooled in their trail down the door, a hole where they had once resided. "They won't... start anything... unless they percieve a threat to me.... Should be... fine." She coughed slightly, eyes watering. "I don't believe I've used that much energy since I tried to subdue a dark-walker when I was a mere child."

[=3 Indeed. That sounds awesome! Sorry I was gone so long, I kinda spazzed and abandoned the internet for a few days. ><

He raised a hand to his mouth to keep from laughing, but an amused look crossed Alan's face just the same. Really now! But even a hand could not disguise a chuckle. "That expression..." he managed to say between laughs. "Is truly something. And she IS stubborn! You should see when we get her to try and eat more vegetables!"

He rose a brow then as he noted just how hard she was working. He rather wished he was able to aid better, but in such a case like this his abilities simply would not work. They were useful in any other situation, just not this one. "I suppose I shall," he replied. "Right then, well, as I said before. What happens, happens. I can avoid them rather easily rather than starting a conflict for your sake, but if they try to harm my sister in any way it will be dealt with." Fangirls liking men who brood?

"As for fangirls... well... I can sympathize with your brother," he admitted. He was, after all, known for being tall and handsome, and known to brood on occasions he was left alone. More than once he had to fend off a hoard of ladies. When she landed on the floor with a thud his eyes widened a slight. He knelt down beside her, making certain no serious injury was done.

"I see. Well, I would offer my energy services but I feel they would not mix well, he admitted, shaking his head. "Just rest a minute, you've certainly earned it."

((No worries, I'm patient! ;3 Okay, as soon as we get to afer school then Ill sneak the siblings in. *Grins* ))
