Asima nodded, and stood unsteadily, before covering Set with a blanket. She turned to Malum then, and settled next to him. Worried, she touched his tricep, "Malum? You okay?" She muttered nervously. What had he seen? Would he be the old Malum again? |
Solum made his way over to Malum as well, standing nearby and watching as his brother's eyes snapped open. Malum stared straight ahead for several minutes before his eyes focused and he looked around. He seemed disorientated at first, looking between Asima and Solum.

Asima was quiet for a few minutes, before tiilting her head. "Do you remember more Malum?" Hopefully it had gone alright and they didn't have to start from scratch again. |
"Malum..." he repeated his own name with a pause, "that's..."
"You" Solum raised a brow, "You're Malum." "right" Malum nodded slowly, hesitating again, "that makes you... my brother, Solum-and Asima" he turned from Solum to the princess, "but I don't say that name often..." he stared at her, "not as often as I should." |
Asima blushed brightly and lowered her head biting down on her lip. Good Gods. What had Malum seen? What had he heard? "Uhm, so...It worked? You can remember both of us alright. Did you, uh...learn anything else?" She questioned quickly. |
"uuhhh..." his eyes shifted away as he thought, "I'm not really sure what's new and what isn't..."
"do you remember Frodan?" Solum questioned. "yes, it's a place where only thieves and cut-throats go" Malum replied, going cross-eyed for a moment and shaking his head, "and so many tunnels... how's one person supposed to remember them all?" Solum frowned a little, "You remembered the west half and I memorized the east" |
Asima paused and thought for a moment. "Did you and Set only go into my memories? Set seems tired. Perhaps he didn't have enough energy to do both of ours today?" |
"no, I think we did both" Malum replied, "it's just a bit... jumbled" his eyes strayed to Set, "maybe we should get him to a bed"

"You relax." Asima commanded, hopping up. She cast her magic lifting up Set along with the blanket. SHe moved out quickly, bringing him to his room. Asima's magic seemed much weaker than usual, and the princess worked up a sweat making it to Set's room. She made sure he was settled, and tucked in, before leaving the room. She hesitated outside the door of where she'd left the brothers, then slipped inside once more. "What about you two? Do either of you need to rest?" |
"I'm fine" Solum replied.
"I'm alright" Malum shrugged "No, you need to rest and take some time to sort out these memories" Solum odered his brother, "I don't want you walking around until you know what's what and who's who." |
Asima bit her lip. Part of her thought it would be better for her to know what memories Malum had seen... She stood a moment later, offering her hand to the white haired male. "Orders are order! ^U^ C'mon...let's get you tucked in..." |
"I really think I'm fine" Malum rolled his eyes but accepted her hand all the same.
"I don't want to take any chances, especially with this guy running around." Solum headed for the exit, "I'll keep an eye out, take some time Malum." |
The princess gladly helped the male up and led the way to the guestroom. "Let's see. What all do you remember or know, then? Or...should we not even talk about it, until you've rested." |
"I don't think it's going to be a simple as that" Malum replied, falling into the bed and staring at the ceiling. He certainly seemed wide awake at the moment, "I'm not really sure what memories are originally mine and what's not and there's so many I can't just... know..." he shook his head and sighed, "Maybe if you asked something more specific? An event you know of maybe? And see what I can make of it."

"The first one I have of you, not disguised. When you killed my father. Do you remember details about it?" The princess questioned. She lowered herself to the edge of the bed a bit nervously. He was acting more like the Malum who didn't remember, since he was more willing to answer her questions. |
"your father..." he stared at the ceiling as though mesmerized by it, "we'd been planning it for months... I was in charge of keeping Lakar as busy as possible while Malum-no, I'm Malum. Solum had to hold up Lakar so I could get into the throne room through one of the high windows. Nemiah was about to talk to father-your father about something important when he-me finally spoke up. I have no idea how long I'd been there but there were archers backing me up." he smiled slightly, "you took the whole 'Hand of Anubis' thing quite literally. I don't think that was quite true, was it? I think-or Solum thought it was a bit much."
His smile faded as he continued the recollection, "You stabbed me but I don't remember if it hurt." his hand drifted to his shoulder where Asima's blade had once been embedded. "Lakar showed up, but it was too late. The archers had already hit Isoteph, and they killed Anobi," his voice gained a sad note now, "Lakar was furious but you were more so. You wanted me to suffer like no other. Such horrible things... but for some reason I didn't seem to care. Then Nemiah shouted, everything kind of blurs. Something about an arrow, Nemiah got hit instead of m-you. Somehow I made it back to the window and then I was gone. Solum was waiting for me back at our meeting spot but I never showed up." he stopped, "that's... that's all I know about that day." Malum didn't even realize his hands had turned to fists, clenching the bedsheets on either side of him. His eyes, still staring at the ceiling, were filled with rage and pain. |
Asima blushed, and looked away. She offered the male a sheepish smile and a nod. "Yeah, I did." She listened to the rest quietly, her smile fading slowly. It had been a sad day, full of pain. She leaned over, brushing her hand over his arm. Malum couldn't seem to remember specifics, like his own pain. But, he seemed to feel hers and Solum's just fine. And he couldn't tell the difference between him and the others some of the time. But, that could pass...right? She stated all this, frowning down at him. "Perhaps it was a bad idea? Do you believe with time you'd be able to tell yourself apart a bit better?" |
Malum relaxed at her touch, turning his gaze to her he gave a bit of a smile, "I guess it should've been expected. They're your memories, it just takes a minute to remember that guy I'm watching is me. I don't regret it, if anything I regret not being able to remember how I felt that day. Could I really have been happy to kill him? What was show and what was real?"

Asima gave a sigh, before curling up nest to him. "From what you've let me see about you, I don't think you were happy to kill him. It was simply something you thought you had to do. You mourned his death. You had an egg created for him, that we still haven't found. But, you can't show people that side of you." She paused, and glanced over at him. "You've been betrayed and hurt before. And the more other people know about you, the more danger they, and you, are in. So you hide it behind this tough exterior." Her voice became slightly pained. "I wish you were able to drop it, on occasion. You and Solum have made it very clear it's not possible. I've seen how dangerous it is for you." "Perhaps." Asima continued thoughtfully, "With time, you could rememeber how you felt. Maybe it will come back some day..." She gave the male an inquiring glance, and fiddled with her dress nervously. "So, uhm. What all did you hear? You didn't hear my thoughts, right?" |
Malum nodded quietly, gathering some comfort from the princess. "Thank you Asima." he sighed and rested his head back, "No, I don't think I got any of your thoughts, Set filtered quite a bit but I don't think he could block a lot of the emotion. And he was getting pretty exhausted by the end of it. I'm surprised he was able to get that far actually, he's got a lot more magic and control than I realized."

Asima glanced over at him with a mock glare. "Don't think of using that against him if you and my brother keep this feud going!" She teased, before becoming serious again. "I'm sorry, that on top of everything, you have my emotions to deal with. Half of the time, I have trouble telling what I feel. You shouldn't have to deal with that as well. Set did do amazing though..." "So." She began, "What should we do about this newcomer? I don't like the whole water disappearing trick..." |
he chuckled lightly, "I'll be fine. I just need time and I can sort through it all." Malum closed his eyes, thinking about her question, "He's good, I'll give him that. I just wish I knew why he was after me, it's hard to know how to deal with someone you don't know anything about-especially if they know a lot about you somehow." his eyes snapped open, "but I'm not me anymore..." he sat up, "well i am, but I'm obviously different right? We do have the upper hand there-he's expecting the old me."

Asima nodded slowly, though she was frowning. "But...Malum...the new you isn't exactly, uhm...the most...safety orientied..." She paused and bit her lip. "You could end up hurt." |
"I get the distinct feeling that, memories or not, every day I could end up hurt. The question is more what he will do every moment he's out there plotting, rather than what my fate will be here waiting." Malum stated, "we must use what advantages we have."

The princess conceded, nodding, though she clearly wasn't happy. "What do you intend to do then?" |
