Malum sighed and came back to the bed, sitting next to her again, "I do still feel like my brother's important, but it seems like he doesn't want me helping him anymore. What else can I do? If he doesn't want me around, I can't just follow him anyway, can I? Does that seem like something I would do?"
He snuggled close to her, "I'm not sure such an item exists, and if it did... wouldn't it be rather dangerous to just carry around?" |
Asima giggled as Malum snuggled her, then answered thoughtfully. "To be honest...I don't think he has ever not wanted you to help. If he does now, it is probably only because of the high risk you are now...I'm not sure it it would...but, I will look while in the library. And we would carry it around. We could just use it for you, and put it back where we got it..."
"Hm, I think I'm just going to have to learn quickly. I'm going to go find Malum" he cringed at his mistake, "Solum. My brother is Solum... I'm Malum" he mumbled before giving her a kiss and getting out of bed again. Getting dressed he offered her a smile again, "Fly or fall, apparently it's how we learned in first place. I'll just have to do it again."
Asima watched him go, then rubbed her temples before climbing out herself. She'd wasted too much time dallying with him today. She dressed simply and rushed to the library. She had to try and keep her sanity while searching for a way to defend against Souban, return Malum's memories, and find a way to bring Melhet back from the dead.
Malum sighed and strolled along and out of the palace, off to locate where his brother had run off to this time.
((What's Souban up to?)) |
(I will post about her...^u^)
Asima dug through the books and scrolls with a frown, her eyes hurting from careful reading. Souban was inside the dark tomb like before. A ball of magical fire wavered about her head as she worked. She had been working for days already, and she was almost complete. The only thing left was separating her soul once again. This had to work. The Pharaoh had to be complete, naturally, to gain access to the throne. Even if the little princess figured Souban had brought her father back, would she be able to hurt him, and would others allow it? After all, the Pharaoh was considered a God. Perhaps he had decided Nemiah wasn't fit yet, and came back. The common folk could easily be fooled into that with a few whispered rumors. Souban screamed loudly as she used her magic on herself, her very soul ripping itself apart. The Pharaoh had been stripped of the fanciful burial ornaments, and laid bare before her. The redhead panted luodly, leaning on his burial coffin heavily. The pain was unlike anything, including bearing children. Finally, however, her hand disappeared into her chest, taking on a transparent hue. Once it withdrew, a shimmering silver chuck was in Souban's hand. Before it lost its strange transparency, she plunged it into the male. She settled down to wait, panting on the floor. Within a day, the Pharaoh would be moving. And this time, she'd hidden his heart carefully. And this time, the three young children laying dead and ripped apart in the tomb made sure Souban wouldn't have to dispose of Malum. Unlike Melhet, he wouldn't have a time limit. His only weakness was the beating heart buried in her wet sand. (Would you like to play him, since you did in life?) |
((Oooooo, Manacle. Okies!))
Pain. He hadn't felt that in awhile. Pure pain in contrast to the afterlife was excruciating. He opened his mouth to scream but first his lungs had to flare back to life and suck in the air to do so. Air, breath, also things he had nearly forgotten about after being... being where exactly? The memories of beyond life were quick to fade. Pain, breath, it was like learning to live one sensation at a time. His hand twitched and then raised up to grasp his chest, there had been an arrow there right? where was it? How could he have survived such a fatal wound? Eyes. He needed his eyes to see, to open and look but everything was so bright he cringed and turned away. |
Hours had passed, and it had taken hours to recuperate. Much longer than the last time... Eventually, Souban had crawled to her table, dragging off her flask of water, and drank deeply. Shifting noises roused her, and the water strengthened her, so Souban rose on shaky legs and moved to the coffin. "Good...You are away. You don't need to see, but listen closely, eh, Pharaoh? I am Souban, I am your Mistress. You listen to me, and your family will live. As will you. I've brought you back from the dead, and you are gonna help me rule your old kingdom. Your heart is mine, and if you disobey, I will either crush it, or simply make you my puppet...understand me?"
That voice, he didn't recognize it. It wasn't the most friendly tone he had been hoping to hear. "hnn mmnngg" the old pharaoh mumbled. Apparently forming words also took some practice. "Where... is my... son?"
Last he remembered was Malum attacking. He and Nemiah had gotten injured. |
"Alive." Souban eyed the fallen man. "And you will help me remove him from the throne. If not, I'll kill him. Last time, do you understand?"
As his eyes adjusted he squinted to see who this Souban really was. What was so special about this woman? Aside from the fact she seemed able to bring back the dead of course. Wait, if he was dead than this was his tomb? He looked around, "... You've broken into my tomb. You threaten the lives of my children and you disturb my eternal rest." he breathed, coughing a bit of dust from his lungs, "Who are you to command a pharaoh?"
The female snorted. "Someone who can make it very very hard for your family. That's all thats important. Do You wish to help me, or shall I take away your memories now?"
Isoteph stared at her, weighing his options although they seemed to be few. If she was capable of bringing the dead to life, he couldn't risk underestimating her. For now, it would be best to play along, "Very well Souban. Where shall we begin?"
"You are going to bring me to they palace with you. You've come back. You want your throne back. Your Hemset left and placed another high priest in charge. You will remove him from his post and place me there instead. If you obey me and don't try any funny buisness, I'll simply send your children to another country with a nice sum of money." Souban paused, still feeling rather weak. "Get your strength up...we'll leave soon."
Isoteph nodded curtly and looked away. Hemset, she said, that was Lakar's little apprentice boy. If it mattered that he had left, that meant something had happened with Lakar since he'd been gone. "... how long has it been?" he questioned, sitting up slowly and orientating himself with the room.
Souban ignored him, instead shoving items into her bag. "Careful when you stand. The fluid in your ears has thinking...your balance will be off for a bit..."
(How long has it been?) |
((A few years by now. He died waaaayyy back XD Practically the start of the role-play!))
Isoteph frowned, "If you want me to be convincing, I need to know how long I've been gone. The last thing I remember is that blasted thief raining down arrows upon me and my family. I need to know what has happened since then." |
(Oh wow. You'd think it would only have been a little over a year. We've been roleplaying for like two now, haven't we?)
Souban glanced back and glared, but Isoteph had a point. "Years. Your son has done reasonably well as a Pharaoh. Your daughter." Souban grinned maliciously. "Let's see....the common belief is that she's been sharing a bed with the man who killed you. Most of the time she's gone from the palace, doing who knows what...You've been dead for years.." |
"What?!" Isoteph exclaimed, standing in protest but finding himself rather unbalanced and falling over again. "uhg" he grunted, barely catching himself dizzily, "My little girl is... You're lying. Why in the name of the gods would she do such a thing? Malum is a monster."
"No lie." Souban grinned. "Lets see...she got banished from the palace and ran off to Frodan with the man. Now she lives in the palace again, but guess who is staying with her?"
"I don't believe you" The old pharaoh growled angrily at her, "Nemiah would never allow it. Besides, there are more than just mortal laws that forbid such things. Things my daughter can not ignore."
"Then be grateful I brought you back. You can banish Malum andsend her off to be married or something. Then we would just need to take care of Nemiah."Souban stated simply.
Isoteph massaged his temples a moment before once again trying to stand-this time a bit more slowly. He leaned heavily on his own sarcophagus for the moment, "Nemiah will not question me. He'll stand down as soon as he realizes I'm back." he gazed at his hand and flexed his fingers to test his movement.
"... how are you capable of this?" he question, a tone of true intrigue in his voice. "You say I've been dead for years, and yet my flesh is good as knew..." |
Souban turned, glancing about. She'd need to return later and dispose of the bodies of those children. For now it would need to wait. "Let's just say I'm blessed by the Gods..."Souban stated simply. If Isoteph knew how, he may not be in such a hurry to help. "As soon as you are ready, we'll leave. Since for now, I'm your servant, Ill follow along behind."
Isoteph took a moment to breathe, "Do we have to leave now?" he questioned, "I've just come back from the dead. It might be a good idea to take a day or two to make sure I don't collapse suddenly."
