"Any thing we can help with?" Asima asked, leaning into Malum. If there was nothing she could do, then she would certainly agree to go now.
Solum shook his head, "no, go ahead. You two get ready for this long awaited marriage of yours" he offered a smile.
The princess nodded, "Good luck with whatever you need to do, then." Her gaze went back to Malum. "I'd like to tell Nemiah...I don't think he'll tell anyone...Is that alright with you? Then we can head out..."
"Definitely" Malum agreed, "Maybe it will give him hope for him and Misa as well?"
She nodded. "Maybe. Though he basically told our Father he was marrying Misa whether he liked it or not." Asima.led the way, intertwining her fingers with Malum's.
"Well, here's hoping dear old dad didn't take it the wrong way" Malum frowned a little, holding Asima's hand tightly as they went to find Nemiah.
The young pharaoh-now prince again was off on his own in the old training room that Lakar had once used to teach them magic. He stood in the center of the large room, surrounded by a large ring of candles. With his eyes closed and a look of calm across his face, Nemiah breathed deeply, his hands moving in and out with each breath. It was a type of meditation that took extreme patience and perfect focus. In theory, if one managed to find perfect peace and balance with the gods, then they could extinguish all the flames with one sweeping motion. Not that anyone had ever seen it done before, but still, it was a great way to gather one's thoughts. Each breath in seemed to draw in the energy of the room, while each breath out expelled the energy with a new movement. It was almost like a memorizing dance of one soul. After a few moments, without losing his stride, Nemiah spoke, "I heard you two met with father?" he asked, continuing the movements and the deep breathing. |
Asima didn't respond, though she frowned too. She could understand why her father had been disappointed in them both, but she didn't understand why she was permitted Malum, but Nemiah couldn't have Misa. She stood by, waiting patiently for her brother to finished, and was a bit startled when he finally spoke.
There was a bit of a pause before she spoke, glancing to Malum. Hopefully, her brother would be happy for her, and it would give him hope, and not make him angry their father had accepted her wishes when he'd spoken so sharply to his son a bit earlier. "We did...It went really well, Nemiah...He agreed to let us marry..." |
Nemiah stumbled in his motions at Asima's statement. It took him a moment to regain his focus in the movements and thus a moment before he responded quietly, "I see..."
"Perhaps he's not as unreasonable as I once believed" Malum offered, "you may be able to talk to him about Misa" The young pharaoh frowned as he thought about it, "perhaps... but something doesn't feel right about all this" |
The female fell quiet. He wasn't happy for her, it seemed. But, she did agree with him. "I know. I thought it was too good to be true...It's probably Souban." Asima hugged herself, leaning against Malum.
Nemiah sighed and finished what he was doing before turning to give them his full attention, "I've been thinking about that as well. He's still himself but clearly Souban has given him rules that he cannot break without consequences. I'm not sure how close attention you paid to father before he passed, but I remember him out smarting more of his enemies than he actually out-fought. So if this really is our father, and he is trying to initiate some sort of plan under Souban's thumb, anything that we can see as out of character may be a clue as to what either of their plans may be."
beginning to pace he continued, "What did he say exactly? How did you convince him of letting you two be together? Where there any conditions to it?" |
"Well...naturally, it wasn't official..." Asima glanced to the white haired male. "And he said Malum had to take me out of Egypt, that he was going to be making some changes and didn't want me involved..." She raised an eyebrow at Malum, wondering if she'd forgotten anything else.
Malum nodded in agreement, "He basically tricked me to figure out if he could trust me or not. I passed his test so he agreed."
"Sounds like father needs to get you two out of the picture" Nemiah stated, "at least now he knows you're not going to kill her" he added looking at Malum. "That, plus the message he wrote to us earlier, it may be a good idea not to be here when it's all going down. Sounds like it could be very dangerous." |
"It could be." Asima nodded. "But, I'm worried about you too. What will happen with you?"
"I'm ot sure yet" Nemiah shrugged, "I suppose I will find out when I meet with him later."
The female nodded. "We are going to try and find Set. He'll probably marry us in secret...so we are going to head out soon. Send me messages alright?"
Nemiah nodded, "Alright." he smiled, "and congratulations to the both of you."
"Thank you, Nemiah..."Asima beamed, wishing she could say the same to her brother. She hugged him and kissed his cheek before heading out the room.
Nemiah hugged her back tightly before letting her go as he turned back to his meditation.
Malum follow Asima happily. |
(Should we skip the journey part? Travelling=dull.)
((lol, yes. I'm a little tired right now so you go ahead))
The duo reached Fordan in the early morning, and Asima's excitement grew a notch. The palace was her home, but at the same time, this bustling hidden city was her home. She glanced around, her happiness growing. She could identify a few people in the crowd at just a glance. It was rather nice.
Soon, however, the princess forced herself to focus on the male. "Is there anything you need done right away, or shall we check out Set's old place?" She questioned, tilting her head slightly. |
"I should probably check in on something while I'm here" Malum admitted, "but go ahead to the bar over there" he pointed, "see if you can get a lead. I'll meet you in a bit"
Asima nodded and obeyed, moving inside. She wasn't sure what to ask for, but figured the bartender would be the best start. She slid unto a chair, ordering a drink and sliding coins over. "Have you seen any new faces around?" She started with that.
"Aside from yours?" the man replied as he handed someone else their drink, "There's always people passing through here. New and old. Can I get you something?"
Asima ordered a random drink, though she wasn't particularly thirsty. "Thank you..." She described Set. "Any that look like him?"
