Asima led the way as they set off on foot, feeling a bit happier than she had for a while. As soon as they arrived at Mary and Jonathon's house, her smile disappeared, however, Asima afraid of what she would find. She beckoned to the two males, and moved through the door, glancing about. "Solum, he agreed to help!" |
Malum was awake again, the nap at been short lived. Solum currently had his brother pinned to the floor to keep him from lashing out again. "Good timing" Solum panted, "I finally got him down again"
"Release me!" Malum hollered, "I'll kill you, ya insolent dog! You murderer! I'll kill you all!" Lakar blinked as he stepped into the hut, Set was hiding behind the old man, peeking from behind his robes. "... well" the priest sighed, "nice to see you again to." Solum looked over apologetically, "He doesn't mean it Lakar, it's-" "I understand" Lakar held his hand up to silence the boy before stepping forward next to the King, "Malum" Malum's eyes turned to Lakar and suddenly he stopped struggling, a look of disbelief crossing his face, "...but... you're dead..." "And who I?" Lakar asked softly. "Harkat..." Malum closed his eyes tightly and shook his head, he looked like he was pain, "Why did you leave?!" he demanded. Lakar's blue eyes softened as he pulled away again, "this is not looking good" he whispered. "WHY DID YOU LEAVE?!" Malum screamed at him. |
(...please don't make me look it up. Harkat was Hemset's brother, right?) |
((Nope, you don't know that name ^_^ yet.))
|
(Gawd....another one?) Asima watched with wide eyes, before groaning, and looking to Lakar, "Even if it's not good, can you help him?" Not afraid for the time being, since Solum had him pinned, Asima moved to his head, gently brushing the dirty white strands away from his face. "Solum...it's Asima...Lakar is gonna help okay? He'll make it better..." Looking back up to the male, and fighting back the unwanted tears Asima felt, she asked again, almost pleading, "Right?" |
((XD My characters are never ending. I hope you enjoy this little trip I has planned though))
Lakar nodded, "I'll do my best, but first of all we have a few problems." he looked to Solum, "I take it those who did this to him will be looking for Malum, we need to keep them away from this area." Solum nodded a bit, "I could go... give them a different trail to follow" "then we need somewhere we can restrain him well enough to proceed." Lakar looked thoughtful, "Somewhere a mad man's screams would go unnoticed..." "the prisons?" Set offered uncertainly. Lakar paused, then nodded, "I suppose that would work, we'd just have to sneak him in. Shouldn't be too much trouble... as long as no one sees who he is" |
(Oh, lord...) Asima stared down at the male, frowning. She didn't like this idea. The prisons were no more than rooms, and many times the people were simply executed if they were too much of a bother. "I could get some henna from the marketplace, dye his hair...That would help a bit." She continued to stroke the white locks, and after a little sigh, she continued. "And we would need to know where to place him, first..." |
"It's risky, but it's the best chance we have" Lakar sighed, "get the henna Asima. Set, could you locate a good place in the prisons? Tell the guard that I have a possessed patient that I will be using to experiment new magical healing techniques on and we need a place to secure him." Set nodded and took off immediately.
Solum sighed, "I guess I'll help you get him there before I take off." |
Asima nodded, obeying. She left quickly, digging in her purse and pulling out the last of her money to purchase a bit of henna, along with a comb. She made her way back, entering the hut once more and cradling the little jar and comb gently. "Alright, Lakar. Do you want me to do this now..? Or would it be better to restrain him first?" |
"The sooner the better" Lakar replied.
solum nodded, "I've got him, go head." |
Asima nodded, lifting the bucket of water. She removed her cloak, and lifted Malum's head, letting it rest on the edge of the bucket. Hesitantly, and after glancing at Solum to make sure he had the male, she began washing the hair. The stain would fall off with the dirt if she didn't. After that it was a simple matter to comb the dark brown dye into Malum's locks. After a bit, Asima sat back, washing the stray henna from her hands. "It has to sit, for about twenty minutes. It won't stay otherwise...Are you sure the prisons are the only place?" |
Malum put up a little protest, but with Solum holding him down, there wasn't much he could do. Lakar sighed and nodded to Asima's question, "I'm not sure where else would be good enough to keep him. Not to mention, no one would expect to look for him in the dungeons"
|
(You want me to skip forward a bit? Set could be back and hair could be done and junk.) |
((Hmm... might as well just skip straight to the dungeons xD))
|
('Tay! ^u^ I'll try my best....Figured they just tie him up and return to the cart...) Asima bounced once more, perched nervously on the edges on the tiny thing and staring down at Solum. The little group was making their way to the prisons, and Malum was now bound and gagged, so now extra attention would be drawn. Once they got there, screaming would be normal. As of now, it was a different matter. Equally silent as the wagon pulled into the gates, Asima finally jumped off the back, turning to see if Solum needed assistance with his brother, not that she'd be able to do much. She didn't like this at all: Didn't like Malum being locked up, where he could be identified so easily, didn't like the light brown his hair was, didn't like how he was acting. But, Lakar was right. This was their best bet. She glanced to Lakar next, unsure what she should do in the uncomfortable situation. |
Lakar lead the way, easily getting passed the guards and into the dungeons. Solum kept his own head down, trying to keep Malum somewhat hidden as well, though that was difficult with the King thrashing about. At least it made the possessed claim seem all the more real. Lakar found a cell at the end, far away from the others and there they chained the struggling Malum up, Solum worked it all very specifically so that he could not reach one arm with the other. "There's still a chance he could get lose, so at least keep the door locked, it could buy you enough time to subdue him again" Solum cautioned, "Now, I've got to run." he looked back at his brother, "... goodbye..."
Malum glared at him, "You will rue the day you have crossed me! I'll hunt you down boy!" he growled. Lakar patted Solum on the shoulder, "we'll take care of him" |
Asima flinched at Malum's words, even if they weren't aimed at her. It must hurt his brother to hear Malum speak to him...She attempted to give the male a smile, "He'll be back to hiself in no time, Solum. Stay safe..." She turned to Lakar then, though cast Malum a worried glance. "What do you need done now?" |
Lakar watched Malum as Solum disappeared down the dark corridor and back outside. "I think I know what this spell is" he stated quietly, "it's more than just hallucinations... I think it's using his memories, making him relive them. This a very dark spell, it cannot kill someone, unless they wish to die. So the spell is causing him to relive his worst memories until that moment."
Set looked horrified at the concept, "h-how do we stop it?" Lakar frowned, "We don't. There is no cure, but it does only last for a few days, and judging by how far along he is now, there is still about one day left. If he can make it the rest of today and through the night, he should be able to start recovery in the morning. But I don't think he can do this alone." |
\(Damn...I'd be begging someone to kill me within an hour...) The female was quite as the priest spoke, her chocolate eyes staring at Malum in horror. "Who would do that to someone? I doubt Keg would be able to cast a spell like this himself..." Asima spoke quietly, more to herself than anyone else. She moved to the King, touching his cheek gently. He'd seen so much pain, how could he survive this long having to relive that..? Finally, Asima turned back to Lakar, "How can we help him get through it, then? He doesn't even realize who we are...How can we help him survive?" |
((Not sure why, but I seem to like putting certain characters through hell O.o... hm ^_^ Ah well.))
Malum pulled away from Asima, he tried to lash out at her but the chains held him back. Lakar sighed, "We can worry about who did this later. For now I think he needs someone, someone who can bypass the hallucinations and just... help him get through it alive." |
"Bypass?" Asima questioned, frowning. "What do you mean?" She stepped back, even though the chains had held Malum securely. Staring intently while she questioned, Asima wondered briefly who the male saw her as. (Gotta leave for work in like twenty minutes, just to let you know.) |
"Someone must go into his mind. That is where this all happening, all that he sees out here is nothing but a projection of what's happening in his mind" Lakar explain, "within, we could speak directly to him, as ourselves... the trouble is I won't be able to keep the path open very long on my own. Set can help with that, but it means you're the only one left who could actually make the journey. We have to stay here."
|
The female glanced back towards Malum, and nodded. "Of course I'll do it. Will he be able to hurt me, when I'm inside? I doubt he'll be pleased, with how private a person he is..." |
"I'm not sure he'll even know who you are at first" Lakar admitted, "if he's trapped in a memory before he saw you, you would only be a stranger to him. As for if he could harm you... I don't know. The mind is a powerful thing, even though none of this would actually be happening, if something was severe enough, your body may think it was real. If you don't let yourself get caught up in it, I think you'll be alright."
|
Asima frowned, turning to look at Lakar, "But...if I'm a stranger to him when he sees me, how will I be able to help? I'm not sure if Malum likes me now. I'm sure you can see how he felt about me at first...I don't think he would let me near enough to him to help him." |
