Malum shrugged, "there's nothing personal about it" he replied, "I don't fall in love." he looked at the stones she pointed out curiously, though for a thief, he hardly seemed interested in such precious stones.

Asima shook her head, "No. You don't let yourself fall in love. There's a difference. Who was s-Nevermind. You don't seem to be having much fun here...Where would you like to go or do, Malum?" |
"Hmm..." he looked thoughtful for a moment, before grinning a bit and taking her hand to lead her towards the Nile, "I want to see if you can do something."

"I-if I can do something?" Asima questioned as she was tugged along, "Malum! Um...I'm worthless, remember! I doubt I'll be able to do whatever you are wanting me to do!" |
Malum rolled his eyes, "just do as I say and we'll see" he stepped into the shallow water, indicating that she should follow his example.

The female looked doubtfully at the water. "I...don't swim well, Malum..." She followed his example, however, lifting her dress and moving to the water until she stood next to him. |
"You won't have to" Malum stated, "just do what I do." he began directing her through a series of movements. Once he taught her the motions, he taught her the words that went along with the spell. After nearly half an hour of this, he stepped back out of the water, "Okay, now tie it all together-but the key to this spell is to feel it all the way through. You're going to feel like you have to release the magic into the air sooner than you're actually meant to. Hold it back until the very last moment."

Asima looked doubtful once more, commenting quietly, "Malum...I don't like doing spells without knowing what they do...not now..." She did, however, obey, trusting that Malum wouldn't hurt her on purpose. And she wanted to release much earlier than she was supposed to, but as Malum said, she held back, though still frowning. |
The water began to move and swirl and then suddenly at the end of the spell, galleons of water rose high into the air. Clouds began to swarm the sky as the water was absorbed into the air. And just as quickly as it had come up, the water began to fall in droplets. Rain, softly falling from the sky and filling the air with a pleasant cool, while a stream of colour rose from the Nile and into the clouds. Asima had just created a light rain and rainbow.
Malum laughed, "It worked!" he let himself fall back on the bit of grass that lead to the water. |
The princess remained in the water for a moment, her mouth falling open in awe. She brought her attention back down, and, noting Malum, moved next to him, though giving him his space. She flopped unto the patch of grass, staring at it with a tiny smile. "It's beautful..." Was Asima's only comment, though a thousand new questions raced through her head. |
"Ah... I haven't seen that done in years" Malum smiled, folding his hands behind his head as he stared up at the sky, feeling the water fall upon his face.

"Hm." Asima replied, tilting her own head back. "You should do this stuff more often...You work too much." Opening her eyes and glancing at him, the princess tilted her head, thinking. |
After a moment Malum got up, shaking off some of the water that his hair soaked up, "Can't" he replied, "I only do this when necessary." he offered his hand to help her up, "we should probably go get Sarah now"

The female lowered her head, nodding. Her hand ghosted up, gripping Malum's and hefting her form up. She shook her dress gently, seeming to revert back to the quiet thing she'd been lately. "Alright...are we leaving for Frodan, and Solum will catch up? Or will we wait for him there?" |
"We can't go back to Frodan" Malum replied as he started back towards the slave village, "not now, it's too dangerous. We'd be safer off in the Pharaoh's lands."

Asima simply nodded to Malum's back, following the male as he moved. She kept silent during the journey, her thoughts elsewhere. After a bit, Asima began questioning him quietly. "Malum...that thing...with the tentacles. Do you know what it was? Can it be killed?" |
Malum frowned, evidentally dreading that question, "... I'm not talking about that" he replied simply.

"Malum..." Asima attempted to grab his arm, to stop him from moving. "I'm not asking you to think about what happened, I just want to know if I can do anything. Please, let me prove that I'm not worthless, that I can be trusted, that I can be someone you c-can rely on..." She finished lamely. (That's cool...so...stoned...ugh.) |
Malum turned to face her, "Look, that's fine. You're doing fine, but this is one thing that I'm not talking about. Not to anyone-and you can't say anything about it either. You promised, right?"

The princess stepped back, her eyes going wide. She nodded quickly, "B-but Malum...Will you at least tell me where it was? I could do something surely? Just let me know where it was, and I will never bother you with one more question as long as I live. Please?" |
"You don't want to know" Malum replied as he kept walking, "and there's nothing you can do about it. Plus, you'd be boring if you stopped asking questions"

She followed, still speaking. "Well, I obviously want to know, because I'm asking! And there has to be something I could do! How will you know if you don't give me the chance! And I'd rather mean something to you and be boring, than to to be interesting and completely disposable!" (Hullo Lavinia!) |
"You're really weird, you know that?" he replied, "and I'm not telling you. You can help with something else."

Asima glared at Malum's back for a moment, before glancing away, letting her head fall and her silky hair hide her face once more as they moved into the village. "Does Solum remember where it is? I wouldn't have to discuss what I've seen...just ask him about the creature...Didn't make any promises about that, now did I?" |
"We're the only ones who know about it, only the King of thieves has access, and he will never tell you anything" Malum stated, "Give it up, you're better off not knowing."
