"Well we can't all be unfeeling monsters" Malum shrugged, "I suppose I'm just lucky that I am." he smirked, taking another bite of his apple before gesturing to the door, "Go on then, and tell Lakar to keep a close eye on that brother of yours."

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-08-2010 11:51 PM

The princess was quiet for a moment, before she moved to the door, glancing back at Malum. Without realizing it, the princess pitched the plum towards the false king, bursting out of her doors. Fighting tears back, she made her way to the temple, glancing about, "L-lakar, are you in here?"

silenttiger43 06-08-2010 11:58 PM

Malum caught the projectile, watching her disappear as his cocky expression fell to nothing. With a sigh he moved the fruit into the hidden room and closed it up behind himself so that no one would know he was there.

Lakar came just around the corner as she called, he smiled upon seeing the princess, "Asima, it is good to see you this morning" he hesitated, looking over her over briefly, "is anything the matter?"

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-08-2010 11:59 PM

The princess lowered her gaze, not meeting the kind elder's. "Nothing's wrong...I...I wanted to know if you could read this..." She removed Malum's parchment from her sash, handing it over. "Would this spell work? What would it do?"

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 12:02 AM

Lakar took the parchment curiously. He examined it for a moment surprise crossing his features, "Yes, I think this would work-perhaps just with a small change here..." he gestured for Asima to follow him to his room where he pulled out some ink and altered one of the symbols a little. "There, now it should work just fine-but I did not teach you such advanced things Asima, where did you get this?" he looked at her again.

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 12:05 AM

The princess flushed, refusing to look at him once more. "Uh...I had taken it, from Malum...while we were in Frodan...What does it do, Lakar?" Asima asked, quickly changing the subject back to the paper. How she hated lying to everyone to cover her actions, but perhaps knowing his spell could please Malum. Yeah, okay... A sarcastic voice filled her head.

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 12:18 AM

Lakar looked at it again, then shrugged a little and stepped back out of his room to where there was more space, "I'll show you, it may actually prove a good piece to help you develop you abilities."

Lakar found a good open spot in the temple before he began to go through the motions and cast the spell inscribed upon the parchment. With two fingers pointed outward as his arms made sweeping motions, a trail of water began to appear, streaming from the fingertips and flowing like a whip through the air. Suddenly he brought his hand across sharply and the water froze in a line, becoming shards of solid water that then shot out and shattered against the stone temple wall. The remains of the solid water were very reminiscent of the cold white sand, before they soon melted and left a small puddle upon the stones.

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 12:21 AM

Asima had cried out, jumping behind her teacher, though the frozen water had hurled away from her. Composing herself, already on edge, the princess nodded, giving a tiny sigh.

If only she could wake up and look around, discover Anobi was under her and she'd fallen asleep on his silky fur, it would be just like old times. With another sigh, the princess stepped next to Lakar, setting herself to the task, learning the spell slowly.

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 12:29 AM

Lakar helped her through it, spending as much time as it took to get her to do the motions and words just right. Always the encouraging teacher, Lakar didn't stop until Asima had learned enough to get through the rest with her own practice.

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 12:32 AM

When Asima had finally learned the spell, she would of been happy to simply nap. However, her promise to Nemiah stood. She thanked Lakar, forcing a smile to her face, though she was still somewhat upset. She gave him a wave, and told the priest she'd be back later, is Nemiah didn't need any help, before darting through the palace in search of the other male.

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 12:41 AM

Nemiah was pacing in the throne room with no one else there. He seemed fairly nervous about something-probably concerning his meeting that afternoon.

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 12:43 AM

Asima burst into the room, moving to him quickly, grinning. "Hey! You look so sad! Smile. We'll be okay...Just rememeber..." She listed a few things she'd read last night concerning the meeting, before throwing her brother a supportive smile. "Do you want me there, or to wait outside...or...?"

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 12:49 AM

Nemiah turned to her nervously, "Asima, it's the sultan of Arabia and I just got word that he's bringing his son with him. I've met that guy when we were younger, he's a pompous brat who tried to get me in trouble any time we spent together. I don't think this'll go over well with him nearby..."

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 12:56 AM

Asima shifted nervously, glancing away. "Well, I may not be a particular beauty, but you could always point out that I am a princess in a powerful kingdom, who is unmarried...Not in the same way of course. W-would you like it if I ran to my room and changed, maybe put on some kohl? And I wouldn't actually have to marry him or anything. I could simply take him for a walk in the gardens, or show him around the palace..." She gave a fake laugh, still refusing to look at her brother. If someone asked for her hand, and it was good for Egypt, or Nemiah, her hand could be promised, without her consent, and the princess was all to aware of that. However, if it would help her brother, she wouldn't mind playing a dutiful sister for the meeting.

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 12:59 AM

Nemiah looked at her, then suddenly hugged her tightly, "A distraction! Asima you're brilliant!" he exclaimed, "that'd be perfect, just keep him away from the meeting and I'm sure I can deal with the rest!"

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 01:05 AM

The princess nodded, giving him a halfhearted hug back. Once she was released, she made her way back to her room, glancing around to check for Malum before slipping on a new dress. He would probably be upset with her, for throwing the plum.

After the pretty dress was slipped on, Asima applied kohl to her eyes, digging in the jewels she had left, draping a few made for her head over her braided hair. Well, she certainly looked the part of a princess. It was strange, being decorated this way. She'd grown accoustomed to the heavy dresses and no jewels adorning her. And she hadn't worn makeup since she'd left the palace. Pausing to look in the mirror, Asima waved a dismissive hand at her reflection, before leaving.

Standing in the throne room once more, Asima guestured to herself, asking her brother's approval silently. "When will they be here, then?"

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 01:10 AM

Nemiah approached Asima and kissed her forehead, "you look beautiful sister" he smiled, "and thank you, they should be arriving shortly." he motioned towards the second chair that sat beside the throne, "have a seat" he smiled and moved to take the larger golden chair himself.

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 01:14 AM

The princess nodded, smiling at her brother, before moving to the second chair. She sat gracefully, settling her hands nervously in her lap, beckoning a servant over. After ordering refreshment and the like in a room designed to accomadate guests, she intertwined her fingers, forcing her hands to stay still.

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 01:43 AM

It wasn't terribly long before the guests arrived and the two men entered the room with their numerous servants accompanying them. The older of the two was clad in pure white with a turban wrapped around his head. He was fairly old with a beard and somewhat short, but he seemed quite respectful. The man next to him could not have been twenty years old as of yet. He had pure black hair and wore a combination of white and dark blue that made his stormy blue eyes stand out in a striking way.

They brought many exotic things with them, gifts to exchange with and to impress of course. Nemiah stood to greet them, clearly trying his best not to pay too much attention to the prince, although it wasn't easy.

"Pharaoh Nemiah" the Sultan nodded his head respectfully, "A pleasure to see you, although my condolences about your father."

Nemiah nodded, "Thank you, it is good to see you as well Sultan Hjari" he smiled, trying to keep it in place even when the prince spoke.

"Nemmy" the blue eyed Arabian grinned, "I haven't seen you in years."

"Ahem... yes" Nemiah cleared his throat, "Good to see you as well Prince Hemsjik" he emphasized the use of the boy's title, as though trying to make a point-the prince clearly did not acknowledge it. "This is my sister, Asima" he gestured to her, "why don't you two go for a walk?"

"Ah, I do not remember your sister being so... enchanting" Hemsjik grinned, looking Asima over.

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 02:12 AM

Asima had watched the exchange quietly, standing after her brother, and stepping forward with him. She offered a smile and nod to the sultan, before lowering her eyes modestly, blushing slightly, and unable to help the pleased blush spreading across her cheeks. After Malum's blatant disregard for her looks, it was nice to feel beautiful once more.

"Please, Prince Hemsjik, I've had some refreshments prepared for us. I thought you may like to see some of the palace..." Asima began leading the way from the room, pausing only to give her brother a tiny wave. She made her way to the room, stopping occasionaly to show her favorite sections of the palace walls, explaining what the symbols engraved there meant. Finally she opened the doors to the room, waiting until the prince had sat. "So, please, if it isn't too bold of me...most Arabians do not have such striking eyes, do they? They are quite...stunning." Asima remarked, pouring some drink for the male.

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 02:25 AM

The Arabian prince bid his father and 'Nemmy' farewell before gladly pursuing the princess. He didn't seem very interested in the palace as much as he did Asima herself. finally as they settled in the room he gave her his stormy blue gaze as though to ask if these were the eyes she spoke so fondly of, "yes, they are quite different" he replied proudly, "my mother was a Babylonian princess, I got them from her."

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 02:28 AM

"Facinating." Asima commented, glancing away. How to show she wasn't interested without being disrespectful or ruining what Nemiah needed done? Hmm, just small talk for now. "Was the trip hard on you, Your highness?"

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 02:35 AM

"Please, call me Hem" the prince grinned as he leaned forward with interest, "the trip was a bit tiring, you don't seem to have a lot of interesting things in Egypt here. I wish I could show you some of our Arabian wonders, I am sure that they would impress you"

Kyuuketsuki_Kisu 06-09-2010 02:38 AM

Asima's gaze shot back to the prince, narrowing slightly. "I'm...sorry?" The female forced a smile on her face. "Perhaps you simply haven't had a chance to see our wonders. I could show you them, if you'd like? And perhaps someday, my brother and I will visit your wonderful country. Though I must admit, many of your customs seem strange to me." She attempted to keep her tone polite, though it was diffucult. "Have you seen the Nile, or the pyramids up close, Prince Hemsjik?"

silenttiger43 06-09-2010 02:46 AM

"I saw them last time I was here, a number of years ago. I can't imagine they have improved much since then" he replied, baring a shrug of indifference. "You on the other hand, seem to have changed quite a bit."
