Skyler turned to face Rowen, and thank him for the shoes, when she saw his fangs poised above Randy’s wrist she paled and quickly turned back around. Rowen’s shoes would probably accommodate her bird-like feet as they were made to withstand his demon taloned ones.
“Thanks, I’ll be sure to give them back when you return from your fun. Law make sure neither of you get seriously hurt out there.” She loved this quirky little group, each member made it seem like a family, but she was just glad that Taro and Kura, her two real brothers, weren’t around. “Boss, I’m going to run inside and grab that Polaroid we got, I won’t be a minute.” She jumped up and ran off into the house, her wings fluttered open but she pulled them back in as she passed through the door frame. She knew the camera was somewhere near the TV set and movie shelf. Beside she couldn't handle being around when Rowen fed. |
Shaking his head to clear out his passing day dreams, Melvin snapped back into reality. 'Wow it feels like I've been out of it for two days instead of 5 minutes' He thought to himself glancing at his computer clock. His pepperoni, sausage, sardine, and M & M pizza had arrived without him even knowing it. He snagged a slice, juggling the hot pie from hand to hand in a vain attempt to not get burned. When the arial manuever had cooled the pizza to eating temperature, Melvin wolfed the pizza down with astonishing speed. "Best pizza ever." He called to Carl as he always did. Carl smirked back continuing to flip a hunk of dough into the air.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a man sitting at the booth. He didnt remember that person coming in at all. He seemed a little sick and Melvin made a mental note to stay away. |
{{ooc: man! As soon as i go to bed all of you post D: it's getting hard to keep up!!! -I'm having trouble trying to remember all the people i'm responding too-
btw Melvin's pizza tastes made me gag D: sardine,sasueges,andm&ms..-blagh- you're too creative for your own good sin~~~ i'm not sure what you're talking about so i'm guessing one of the TMNT movies xDD -dork'd-}} Rowen nearly lost his balance at the sight of Randy's wrist so close to his face and rapidly stepped backward only to be startled by a pat on the back he received from Rainbow. Rowen held up his hands defensively toward Law at the offer of finding that little vampire hang out (something Rowen wasn't exactly keen on doing). "Stop being so cruel," Rowen managed to say with an innocent laugh. He knew he wasn't great at buying time but this would have to do. He bent down and began untying the lacing of his boots before slipping them off for Skyler to wear when she returned. He stood straight and scratched the back of his head while looking at Randy, undecided. "You may hate sending me off hungry, but for me it's hard to feed off someone I know, especially you," he tried to conger up a smile but it only turned into an awkward grin. He sighed, running a hand over his cursed eye, "I trust you know how to activate my runes? Just in case I don't snap out of it after they pull me away?" He couldn't help but imagine if Law some how let go of him and he attack either Rainbow or Randy out of instinct. His runes had been activated once when he had taken too much blood from Randy and all he could remember was the pain that finally brought him back to reality and the soreness that lasted for almost two days after. Even if the runes were a way to subjugate him he was still thankful for them being there. |
The slice was gone by the time the guy at the other table seemed to get out of his trance... he'd been sitting there a while without moving so when he shook his head and started to juggle the pizza, it pretty noticeable that he was back in the real world. Cheshire moved his hand as if to make the cheese and toppings on the pizza fall on the guy's pizza fall on his laptop but the hex didn't work. Cheshire tried again, nothing. what's happening? This hasn't ever occurred.I wonder if someone here is a void. That would explain all the weird things here.* He looked around. Carl wasn't likely, he was constantly in the back and the void seemed to only have effect in one area. That leaves the weird guy in the trench coat. Hmm, now what? I wonder if he knows about it. Cheshire walked over to the guy and sat down. He must think I'm drunk. "Hello, your pizza looks... intriguing, i like sardines too..." Cheshire's magic wasn't gonna work here, he'd have to sell his trust the old fashion way, earning it, or at least pretending to.
* ((when i put things in italics, it means that my character was thinking that, some of the things that Cheshire thinks don't match with the things he says so i just wanted to get that straight)) |
Rainbow raised her eyebrows at Marcella. "A sun fairy, huh? Can't say I've ever run across one of those before. But then again, the only thing I've come close to meeting doubles of, besides us boring ol' humans, of course, are the demon cousins over here," she grinned and pointed her thumb in the direction of Rowen and Law and retracting the hand that she'd offered for Marcella to shake. She simply assumed that it was a foreign gesture to the fairy, and took it in her stride.
"Skyler's definitely a unique one, too. But a warrior, huh? Wow, sounds exciting! Not much excitement like that around here, I'm afraid. Void-guy's been the most interesting thing we've had to deal with in months. Law and Rowen usually suck up the most fun stuff, being some of the best equipped to kick bad-guy butt out of all of us," a slight pout formed from her still bright-green lips, but she wasn't able to maintain it for long. A grin reappeared, and she shrugged. "Oh well. And don't worry about not fitting in here; you'll be part of the fam' in a matter of weeks. Maybe even days!" she patted the fairy on the back reassuringly, being careful to avoid her wings. |
Maybe even minutes. As cranky as most of the group was, they were pretty easy going. Knowing you're a pack of freaks brings people together in beautiful ways. She glanced at Law, "I've got your number buddy. And I'm keeping an eye on you," she was just kidding around by that point. She then looked at Rowen, all seriousness, and nodded. "I can kick your ass if the need arises. But, don't worry. You won't even need Law yanking you off of me, let alone me setting your head on fire" she wasn't sure if she believed it.
She actually wasn't sure how comfortable she was offering her own blood up for this, but, that's what needed to be done. And getting all antsy and nervous about it wouldn’t help a thing, so, she didn’t let on that her heart was beating a little faster due to nerves. She could feel Rowen's energy in the way she felt magic. In the way almost every magical being or user felt magic. His was coming in so thinly, she was actually a little worried for him just standing around. Perhaps that was just Melvin having thrown off her radar, or his… But that’s why there was no way she’d let him walk away unfed. He was one of hers, that apparently comes with a meal plan. "Besides," she smiled this time, trying to lighten the mood "I'm a big girl. I can handle a little nibble. I've had vampires gnaw on me before, if I can beat up a hungry vampire, I can definitely kick your ass" |
"You'd set my hair on fire?" Rowen asked breathlessly, sounding genuinely worried before he suddenly chuckled.
"So, is your heart racing from fear, or anticipation?" the demon asked daringly with a smirk that revealed his fangs a little too properly. Inwardly he felt he'd get belted over the head for saying such a thing (to Randy, no less). It was not as if he could hear her heart, but he could sense the rapid of flowing of energy that her blood contained. He could almost feel his stomach twist in on itself from the simple thought of it. His eyes had dilated ever so slightly, "You never know, I doubt I'll just give a little love bite," He said with a dry chuckle, "I still want to know that Law has a good grip on me before I try anything." |
"Hey, gimme a break here, im faster than I look." Law eyed the blood-sucker and smirked walking up to him until they were practically shouler to shoulder before turning around, back to Randy and tiliting his head to the right so he could smirk at his brethren, the right leg firmly placed behind Rowens,
"One bad move and you'll hit the pavement faster than a greased monkey in a plastic jungle, mkay pearly-whites?" Law commented as if it were an everyday thing, technically it could have been if he were to fight everyday, he had a tendancy to lack mercy in battle, but that was his more dominant demonic side at play, "Feel secure enough or do I have to hug you too, precious?" Law chuckled, the thought of Randy's blood racing, it was always interesting, "I once read a book where it was every girls dream to have the fangs of some hot vampire guy sinking into their flesh, dont you find that the least bit exciting at times, Randy?" |
'These glasses are so dark.' Melvin thought as he tippety typed away on his laptop. 'The lights in here are so dim the glow of my lappy is drowning them out.' Loud techno classical gothic music blared from the headphones in his ears. This was his own private sanctuary and no one would be able to disturb it... In a perfect world that is.
Melvin felt the breeze of someone sitting down across from him and felt the shake of the table as someone put their elbows down on it. 'If I dont aknowledge them perhaps they'll go away.' He was done dealing with freaks for the day. After that odd crew in the apartment buildings he felt he needed a vacation from the whole thing. |
Skyler turned over some books looking for this camera; she knew she had seen it earlier that day. Then she remembered that she had put it in a closet when she had cleaned last. Running up the stairs her talons made little clicks every step. She opened the door to her room, mellow green walls welcomed her back. Ignoring the nest and the piles of old feathers she kept, she went straight for her small bookcase. It was mostly filled with trinkets she collected from adventures she went on. The Polaroid was up on the top shelf next to a dented bugle. She grabbed the camera and walked back down stairs, and made sure that she had her jacket this time. Even if Melvin created a void, she would still have to walk around to find him and who knew who else was out and about this time of night, she couldn’t risk it.
|
Had she been a little frailer, or a little less used to this sort of thing, she may have gulped at the flash of fang, or given away the fact that she wanted to. Instead, Randy gave the two demons the look they deserved for those comments. "Considering the fact that last time I had a vampire bite me, they were trying to kill me, not really, no. To be frank, the whole experience sort of tainted the stereotypical fantasy of being munched on in a dark, dirty ally way behind a dumpster for me by some zombie." Yes, she knew vampires and zombies were different, but she had a bit of a bias against vampires, so she referred to them as such. "To be fair though, I've been told that vampires release... I'll say pheromones, but I'm not entirely sure, that sort of sedate and seduce the person they're munching on. It's somewhat like a drug hence the vampire-freaks and the such. Or, that's the best theory I've been able to come up with." She shrugged.
Alright, enough stalling. She shoved her sleeve up again, not wanting to get her jacket dirty (she liked that jacket, okay?) and offered the wrist up again with something resembling delicacy. Her left wrist. She was right handed, so, better safe then sorry. If Melvin negated her magic, that little gun she had gotten into the habit of carrying but had only used once or twice may get a lot more use. But, if she couldn't use her hand right, not so useful. So, the left wrist. "Well, enough stalling. Let's get this over with." |
Dalal Charnae eyed the strange group on the ground beneath and to the left of the tree she was situated in, observing them silently. Her luminous blue eyes swept across the area, checking to make sure there were no others around besides the ragtag group below her. All she could see was various pieces of litter, as well as several alleycats scrounging around for food. She smiled at them, for she often regarded them as metaphors for herself. Well, she thought, except for the fact that I'm rich and beautiful, and they're poor, scraggly, and downright ugly. With a shake of her magnificent golden ringlets (for she had golden-blonde hair for now), she jumped out of the tree, nimbly landing on her feet. Well. At least that year of gymnastics paid off somehow. Though, this isn't a very big pay-off for the pain it caused me. Her old "parents" had often forced her to do extra-curricular activities while they still lived, thinking it would be good for her social health.
She smirked, wondering if anyone had seen her graceful descent, then called out to the group, "Yoo-hoo! Over here!" As they were no doubt going to walk over to her, for she was too sexy to ignore, she began to formulate an idea for how to join them. They were no doubt a sect, from what she had seen earlier, but she couldn't just traipse up to them and say, 'Hey, I'm going to try and recruit all sorts of demons and other powerful beings to help me take over the world, then worship me as I deserve. Wanna help?' No, that DEFINITELY wouldn't work. With her sexiest giggle (for she didn't know who might be listening to her by now), she decided she would let THEM come up with a cover story for her. That usually worked. And in the case that it didn't, she could always just try and seduce them. |
Randy glanced over, but didn't really register anything "Oh, for the love of- Rainbow, Wings," when you can't remember someone's name, making up nick names is always a great cover, "can you go see what that ditz wants?" for things having been so dead for so long, they certainly decided to heat up all of a sudden. And she really didn't need an audience, or strangers, kicking around when she was being snacked on. Especially since there was a chance Rowen could go nuts and try to eat people. She doubted that would be an issue, but, better safe then sorry.
But, really, what was with all the whacko out tonight? People almost never came to this area. There were a few dilapidated apartment buildings and houses, most of which were un-inhibited. Anyone who did wander out this far did so because there was a worn down path leading to a more suburban area with a few shops and restaurants, but, most people were smart enough not to wander out here. There were a lot of crack addicts kicking around. Among other things. Those areas were ideal for setting up base, as, if someone spotted something with giant wings, well, it was just the acid, right? This one didn't used to have a path leading to a safe-ish neighborhood, and it was starting to become a nuisance. Randy made a mental note to ask about that. Maybe they could have it closed up. She was certain that it was the cause of people filtering in. |
persistant bugger "oh sorry, i haven't introduced myself, I'm Cheshire, you can call me Cheshire. I know this must seem weird, it's been an odd day for me" well it was normal 'till you came along. "You come here often? the food seems decent." Cheshire saw Carl spit on a grill, the spit sizzling in the heat in the corner of his eye ew, i guess good food isn't always sanitary. Why's there even a grill in a pizzaria? "Do they serve other food here? Beer, whiskey... cognac?"
|
Rowen was actually content with Law's threat and carefully took Randy's wrist with his clawed fingers before he tensed at the sound of a foreign voice and energy. He cursed as his fangs hung above Randy's vein before plunging into it, blood streaming into his mouth. His free hand quickly reached backward and grabbed Law's leg to make sure the demon wasn't going anywhere. He gripped Randy's wrist tighter than he intended as his pupils thinned into slits. Some crimson dripped from the sides of his mouth as he drank, ignoring the fact that he was becoming more engrossed in the taste than he realized.

Melvin sighed heavily, his shoulders slouching and his chin tucking to his chest. This weirdo is not going away unless I talk to him. Melvin plucked out his earphones just in time to hear;
"Do they serve other food here? Beer, whiskey... cognac?" "What? Why would they serve other food at a pizzaria?" He asked the man who was insistant on talking with him. Melvin was highly irritated at this point and was very close to just walking out on his delicious pizza. "Oy! Carl! This crackpot wants to know if you serve other food at this place!" Carl, who was meticulously cleaning his grill with a dirty rag turned his ox-like mass toward the Chesire man. "Yous gotta problem wit what I soive?" Carl asked the man in a threatening Brooklynn accent. "What? Pizza ain"t good "nuff for yous?" Carl was standing behind Chesire now, his broad shoulders cast a shadow on the smaller man. "What next? I suppose yer gonna want some fancy wine wit your lobster yer majesty?" Carl crossed his beefy arms infront of the grease-stained apron he wore. |
Rainbow snorted loudly and disdainfully in the direction of the newcomer. An annoying, blonde preppy looking ditz, flaunting it up near the base. Choking down a gagging noise, she nodded her ascent to Randy and started over, not even waiting for Marcella to join her. "What do you want? You lost? I'm sure we can find you a limo back to the nicer part of the city," she sneered as she approached the girl. Just looking at her irritated her, and the aura of conceitedness that hung around the young woman made Rainbow want to gag or something. Her blue-green eyes ran up and down the stranger's figure, taking her in and keeping an eye out for anything possibly threatening. But the woman's build alone didn't look like something that could harm a fly, let alone her. Still, the acrobatic drop she'd done from the tree had been mildly impressive, so Rainbow's guard remained up. Besides, who knew what she was hiding in her clothes.
'Ugh. Typical-- blonde hair and blue eyes. I wanna puke,' she thought internally. Seeing as how she'd actually forgotten what her hair color was naturally, she didn't find a problem in insulting the slightly irritating woman in front of her. Really though, this girl reminded her of the cheerleaders back at her high school (hence her obvious and immediate dislike). Ugh. |
"What int he h-ack!" Law raised a brow at Rowen grabbing his leg before the bloodlusting demon sank his teeth into Randy's arm, guess allt hat was left was to monitor how much he was going for, he'd wait until he was sure it was a little more than needed, he'd then place his left hand on the demosn head to rear it back (to slide the teeth out of Randy's arm without too much damage being inflicted) followed by throwing his right shoulder into Rowen's chest and using the grip of his right amr to practically take down Rowen, this additionally aided by the leg behind Rown so as to trip him onto his back, the actiont hat would follow this would be to plant a firm foot on Rowen's chest until he'd cooled off a bit, the strength of a demonw asn't to be underestimated, not even by a fellow one. The appearance of the new person had bothered him, but he had to attend to this pressing matter.
"Now now Rowen, not on the first date...!" Law smirked, Not yet... Not yet... okay now!, cue Laws intervention of the feeding as Rainbow jeered the newcomer. |
Dalal sized up the girl approaching her, surprised that she didn't seem to be the least bit attracted to her. She wondered for a second if she just wasn't using enough of her charm, then quickly dismissed that thought. She probably just wasn't close enough to be affected yet.
"What do you want? You lost? I'm sure we can find you a limo back to the nicer part of the city." Dalal would have snorted in disgust, had snorting not been entirely unladylike. So this girl thought that she was actually lost? HER? The most beautiful of her kind, the best of the best, the most amazing being to ever live? 'Psh. She's just jealous.' She raised an eyebrow at the impudent young girl, then gazed farther off behind the girl. "Listen. I don't have much time for funny business or low-down grunts. You're wasting my time. So go run back and bring me your superiors." She waited a second - too little time for the girl to react, though she didn't think that, then encouraged her sarcastically, "Shoo, little girl. I'm sure you can make it to your superiors okay. And maybe they'll even give you a cookie for supplying them with this message." She couldn't help it; she burst into a small giggling fit. She was just too funny! [[Sorry about length, or rather, lack thereof.]] |
Okay, so she had to admit that this girl was pretty. Really pretty. But she wasn't going to let that affect her attitude, especially since this girl seemed way up on the bitchy side. "Hey, lady, I'm no little girl," she growled darkly, narrowing her eyes and flashing an obscene finger gesture. "You can walk your own twiggy legs over and talk to someone if you'd like. I'm no damned servant." Snorting and mumbling some choice words about the woman under her breath, she stalked over towards Randy, Rowen, and Law, and saw the scene ensuing with Rowen snacking away on Randy's blood. Not exactly pretty.
"Besides," she turned her head and called back to the woman. "The boss is a little.... pre-occupied at the moment!" Snorting and rolling her eyes once, she went into the house to retrieve an outfit better suited to hiding in trees, and/or fighting the baddies. {[Blaaahh.....~ I'm falling really out-of-practice with this. My posts suck hard. DX I'm horribly, terribly sorry, you guys. Oh, and I have to go. Party starting soon. x3 ~Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me~ xD]} |
As the girl flashed Dalal an obscene gesture, she gasped. No one had ever been so rude to her and lived to healthily tell the tale! Well, except for the brief period she was into S&M. But that was different. If only she could kill the girl! But alas, that would probably significantly decrease her chances of gaining allies from the strange group of people.
She glared at the girl, wishing she possessed the cursing gift of the Evil Eye. But alas, she was only talented in shifting her shape. At the 'twiggy legs' comment, her glares intensified tenfold, and her clenched her right fist, her insanely long nails digging into her hand, their sharp points creating imprints that would last for a few days. She was angry; angrier than she had been in years. At the girl's last words, Dalal perked up. At least there IS a boss around here! Maybe I can get straight to the heart of power and more quickly infiltrate whatever organizations handle said power around here. Though, from the looks of this place, that isn't much. With a sneer, she strode towards the rest of the group, her gait that of a model's, except, more practical for going longer distances in shorter times. [[Happy Birthday!! <3 And your posts don't suck. ^^]] |
Skyler took a great leap out the door, coat billowing behind her, wings threatening to snap out. She landed deftly and silently near Law and Rowen, blood was still trailing down his checks. Feeling woozy she quickly looked away, seeing Rainbow talking to an amazingly gorgeous woman. She separated herself from the scene of blood and watched as Rainbow told off the lady.
“So who’s the preppy twat Rain’s ruffling up?” she asked over her shoulder. Leaning over she picked up the shoes Rowen had left for her. “Thanks for the shoes by the way. And Rands when you feel up to it I’m ready to go make an impression on that Melvin character.” Still staring at Rainbow and the girl, she nearly snorted when the stranger broiled in anger, but quickly quieted the laughter as she began a gait over to them. “Uh, oh. Trouble’s on her way. Boyos you want to take her while the boss and I head out before another distracting face comes along?” She’d be glad when Rowen was finished, a meager lunch left her hungry and she didn’t want to loose what appetite she had left. |
Rowen let out a snarl as his fangs were pulled away from Randy's wrist and he blindly flung his claws toward Law but thankfully they didn't connect with any flesh. His vision spun as a result from his head hitting the concrete from Law's quick actions. Rowen let out a quiet cough as he tried to swallow the remaining blood in his mouth,
"Ow," he muttered, trying to recall his surroundings. His hand lightly gripped Law's ankle and he coughed again, "Law?" He questioned quietly, wincing, "if that's your foot, it hurts, a lot." He drew a breath but the heavy pressure Law was exerting onto his chest made it painful. "W-where's Randy?" He suddenly questioned in worry, his eyes traveling quickly over the area in an attempt to find the woman. |
|
Law had divided his attention away from Rowen, looking at the new arrival, he'd heard enough, this woman sounded like some highly strung conman, and she looked.. Well... Gorgeous yes, but something about it failed to click with him, there was something about the beauty surrounding her that was unnatural, where was this from before?
Surrounding her... Like an illusion? Transformation? HHe seemed lost in thought for a second as he tried to remember anything, he had his finger on something but he wasnt sure quite what it was. Then Rowens voice alerted Law and he looked down, smirking a little, "Oh, my bad." The foot was taken off the other demon and a hand offered to help him to his feet, "Looks like we got some kinda overly horny fancy woman come to bother us now. They're comin' out of the woodworks tonight eh? I dont think her beauty is all natural either..." |
