"Thanks, it was just some song I happened to learn." Claire sighed. It was rather contrived that the crowd just happened to cheer for her when she just happened to have spotted a cool guitar. it was a bit tough trying to get through the crowd. Everyone trying to get a strand of hair, or trying to touch her. It was selling a shirt from the Jonas Brothers or some other idolized music icon. Claire the Lyrical? That' name is so bad on so many levels. I haven't written an original song in like five months. She whipped around when Ray asked another question. "Not really, although it's giving a bad name to creatures everywhere about naming abilities." She sighed. "Where's Clyde and Hideto?" It was then that she saw Celest. "Woah, where'd you get the new threads? Anyway I have no idea. I'm freaking "Claire the Lyrical now."

Scowling she shrugged. "Some damn faries grabbed me and said somthing about setting them free then they bathed me!" She whined a little about being bathed by others. "then they threw this... girly dress one me.." She grumbled and shook her head. " I have no idea whats going on Claire the lyrical." Celest smirked when she added that in she felt like joking. "Where are the others... Ohh Did Clyde get eatten?" Celest perked a brow.

Ray shrugged.
"Clyde ran off and Hideto went to go look at the clothing stalls." Ray turned around to see Celest all decked out in a dress.
"Where and how did you get those?" Ray looked Celest up and down.
"They suit you." She said a little jokingly. Just then a little spider girl pulled her aside.

"Will you draw me something?" the little creature asked with big eyes. eight eyes in fact.
"Um, sure." Ray went into the arch of an alley-way and sat down. She took out all her stuff: Her sketch book, her pen, her fave nib and the red ink that she had gotten. The little spider girl watched her intently. Ray dipped her pen into the ink and began to draw a small fairy. The ink seemed to be alive as she drew and once she was done, she ripped out the page and gave it to the little spider, but once the little creature touched the drawing it came alive.
"Whoa, how did that happen?" Ray just sat there as the spider girl chased to fairy.

Claire laughed. "Well think of it this way, we can pawn it off at the nearest shop for soemthing actually useful." She made a face at the nickname. "Please don't call me that." She said this seriously and kept that face, until Celest asked about Clyde. "Heh, well I'm sure he would annoy his way out of the creatures stomach." She said this jokingly of course and saw a creature run up to Ray. Ray was drawing the thing and when she was finished Claire sneaked a peek. She flinched when the picture came alive. It seemed like they weren't the only ones with magic around here. "If I knew I'd probably try doing that myself. Anyway we should go get Hideto and Clyde."

Clyde snorted. "Claire the Lyrical. You sound a character from some penny romance novel." The village was... different from what he had imagined. For one thing, he hadn't expected them to think of the girls as gods. Also, he had imagined people, not creatures. But what was he supposed to expect? After all, it seemed like everything that had happened so far was like a dream. Of all of the group, it seemed like he had the most trouble adapting to this new world. "Is there an organized government here? Is there even a pawn shop?" he asked, puzzled.

"Yeah, it's a wonder what people read around here." Pfft, I could think of a few nicknames for you. Clyde, Mr. Mouth has a mind of it's own, Clyde: Experiment 150. She thought the last one with a bit of venom, but got over it quickly. She had other things to worry about. She looked around the area to see if there was any sort of information desk or "saviors come heeeere" booth. "Well, I'm not sure, but maybe we can ask elf number one." Elf number one referred to the elf that she had seen when first arriving at the village. To her most of the elves here looked the same. They all had pointed ears, squishy looking faces, and were short. She knew it wasn't soemthing elves could help, but she still had to make that remark.

((WARNING - when I get ideas, I type too much. And I got ideas. D: Feel free to pretty much skip to the end of this. I know it's a long one. ^^;))

Hideto heard the crowd and began shaking as he noticed the music stall. Thinking of the song he had been working on earlier didn't help much - he HATED being interrupted when he was working on a song. And to not know when or IF he could go back...that drove him all but insane.

Closing his eyes tightly, he struggled to collect his thoughts. If he explained what the money he had was worth in items, it may be possible for him to get a new shirt...and then there was the ring. If he NEEDED to, he could probably convince someone it was worth far more than it really was.

He continued around the clothing stalls, trying to keep himself from glancing back toward the music stall, but failing miserably. Trembling heavily, he finally spotted a shirt that looked like something wearable to him - which he never thought would be so hard. It was a black long-sleeved shirt with silver embroidery, still with a bit of a medieval feel to it, but not to the extent that he'd be disturbed if he were to look in the mirror with it on. He went up to the creature selling the clothes, who appeared to almost be half elf, half bear. He was roughly the size of an average human, but still somewhat intimidating in appearance, even though he wore a sincere and friendly smile.

"Excuse me...I'm interested in that shirt hanging over there...do you have it in...roughly the same size as this one?" he asked, trying to hide his shaking. The bear-man smiled and ducked behind the counter, pulling out a folded shirt, just slightly smaller than the one hanging. Hideto smiled and reached into his pocket, now growing a bit nervous.

"I'm...um, I'm sorry if my money isn't what you're used to, it's just..."

"You're not from around here. I understand," the man said, his voice low and raspy, causing it to sound almost like an animal's growl. He still sounded quite friendly and understanding, despite this, relieving a little of Hideto's fear.

"Where I came from...I think something like this would cost...at least in my area, probably this," he said, holding out the two $20 bills. The ring fell from his hand and landed on the counter, and the bear-elf stared at it in amazement.

"Is...is this stone common where you're from? Oh, how I would love to be able to visit there!" he exclaimed, examining it carefully. Hideto raised an eyebrow, slightly confused by the reaction. "Ye...yeah, it's pretty common..." he replied, trying to hide the confusion in his voice. It was far from anything special to him; the whole ring didn't appear to be worth more than $20, if that, and he'd just found it on the street...but apparently, this bear-elf saw something in it that he didn't. He found it odd that he would be so excited over the stone, though - it was only a cheap Hawaiian malachite.

"This type of stone is rare here...and I've been looking for one for a week!" the man said, grasping Hideto's hands and shaking them pleadingly. "Will you sell the stone to me? Please...I'll gladly give you the shirt, and...is there anything else you want?" It then occurred to him...in this kind of world, maybe it was used for some type of spell reagent or something of the like. The bear-elf certainly seemed to be acting like it was going to save his life. "I'll replace it with a stone that looks almost identical...or whatever you want!" Before Hideto had even had a chance to reply, four more folded shirts of unknown styles had been thrown on the counter, as well as a pile of assorted gold and silver coins. The bear-elf pulled out a tray of loose stones, all of which appeared to be far more valuable as far as things back home went.

"Um...sure, no problem..." he replied, trying to hold back a nervous laugh, but failing. "It's really nothing..." he added, feeling kinda bad about taking so much for a stone he could find several of strung up as a bracelet for $25 back home.

"How...how about this one? It matches your eyes!" the bear-elf exclaimed, holding a light bluish gemstone with green swirls in his claws and prying the malachite from the ring with his other hand/paw. Hideto nodded, not wanting to refuse or say he didn't care; though he genuinely didn't care...obviously, the bear-elf did.

He completed the transaction, and smiled widely as he left, thanking the elf for everything. He had only taken a handful or so from the pile of coins; he still felt bad about taking so much for such a cheap stone, not to mention the fact that too much more weight would have had his pants around his ankles before long. He questioned why people around here used such heavy currency as he walked away. He decided it was probably best if he went and found everyone else before continuing on...this place was weird.

Claire saw Hideto walked around with a pile of items in his arms. "Woah Hideto, you must of gotten a really good deal." Clothes, coins, and even some stone. Whatever it was, Hideto has gotten some cash. She looked at the number of coins he had and added it with hers. It was a hefty amount that would last them at least a while, if they spent it wisely. She looked at the shirts from his pile. The first was black and long sleeved, but she wasn't sure about the rest. "Well looks like the whole gang is here. Let's go find ourselves some prophetic old guy."

"I have some more money in my pocket...apparently, malachite is ridiculously rare and valuable around here...and I found a malachite ring on the ground the other day, while I was still...you know, back...where we're used to," Hideto said, the confusion in his voice still obvious.

"Before we go off to find some prophetic old guy, though...I have one more thing I wanted to get. Whole reason I kept more money in my pocket...I'll be right back!" he smirked, quickly darting back to the music stall. The weight of the coins in his pocket began putting a strain on the fabric of his pants, causing him to wish he'd gotten a belt back there. He struggled to free one of his hands enough to hold his pants up without dropping anything; for the first time in his life, he was grateful for the fact that he was about to get rid of some money.

He began shaking once again as he approached the stall, this time for relief. He had feared that he was going to be without his music for the rest of his life...which was the last thing he wanted. Sure, there was Claire...but he doubted she knew how to play his favorite songs, or that she would want to. He hated to keep anyone waiting, but as he got closer, he discovered that he was going to have a difficult time deciding what he wanted. After spending a brief moment examining the various guitars, he finally decided on a white-, silver-, and gold-colored one, made from a light yet durable gold-tone wood he had never heard of before (probably native to the area), decorated with what they called elebear ivory and small metallic accents. He felt rather silly, but he couldn't hide the fact that he was a sucker for aesthetics, as well as sound. He laughed softly as he paid and ran back to the group, his arms now full, and his pockets now light enough that his pants would stay up on their own.

"I don't think I would have lasted long at all without this...especially since I 'left my mp3 player at home'," he laughed as he caught up again, greatly relieved now.

"Sweet, talk about lucky Hideto." I wonder what else is rare over here. Claire nodded at waited for Hideto to finish pruchasing what he needed. She chuckled when he came back, looking at how much he spent on the guitar. "Good, now we have two guitarists and two music addicts in this group." He could have jsut asked to borrow my guitar, at least the acoustic one. Oh well, at least now we can discuss music or some other junk like that.

She ran a hand over the other guitar in her hand. It was a bit plain with only the name of the maker branded into the front. She flipped it over to it's side to see if there was anything there, but it only had a few engraved words: "A Guitar in The Forest". Wow that's, rather...cryptic. It reminds me of that one movie..what was it called? She shook off the thought and averted her attention to the others. "Well if no one else has anything to do let's go look for some answers."

Ray stood up and went to the others. When she saw Hideto she couldn't help but gaze in amazement.
"How'd you get all that stuff?" She asked waving at him. The little spider girl was playing happily with the fairy she had drawn "must've been the ink..." Ray turned the thought over in her mind.
"Well if you guys are gonna run off the find some kind of prophet or something I think I'm gonna tag along. It would be nice to find out why we're here. These people seem to know who we are. More or less..."

Claire thought to herself as Ray had gazed at Hideto's stuff in wonder. Prophetic old man, where could one of those be? It isn't as if they're lying around like old rocks. Okay well sometimes they do, but are usually crazy. She stared again at Hideto's guitar. The aesthetics looked very nice, nothing like she had seen back on Earth. It dawned on her how much that she didn't miss home. It was weird that despite the fact she wanted to find a way home, she didn't feel any longing to return to her old job or at least her old boss. That girl seemed to enjoy cutting her paycheck and prodding at Claire's personal life. She turned to Ray who had broken her thought. "Cool, well fame is a blessing among other things."

Hideto smiled at Ray's first comment, still a bit confused by the answer himself. "I found a malachite ring on the street the other day...happened to be wearing these pants, so it was still in my pocket. Apparently, malachite is pretty valuable around here...I almost wonder if it's some kind of exceedingly rare reagent for a life-saving spell or something. I don't really know what that was all about, to be honest," he said, laughing sheepishly. He still felt kinda bad about the whole thing...but he'd gotten what he needed right away, that's what mattered.

He heard Claire's remark and shuddered slightly at the thought of being famous, thankful that most everyone was too busy making a big deal of everyone else to even really notice him back there. "I hope people here don't treat famous people the same way as they do back home...if they do, I don't want to be famous. Too many crazy people..." he murmured, a particularly disappointing and physically painful memory popping into his mind. He rubbed his right shoulder with his free left hand, laughing softly as he realized the pain was no longer real, and hadn't been for nearly eight years.

He readjusted his grip on some of his items as he took a step forward, not quite sure of where he was going...but at this point, who was?

"Well...off to find an ingenious hermit who's unusually friendly for a hermit?" he added with a soft laugh.

Celest kept her arms crossed as she yawned a bit and waited for the others to get all settled and such. wondering about this prophet person they are talking about. She heard a few stories while walking around about and older man with a long white beard and short hair that was balding on top. But his eyes are all blue there was no dot in the middle and it shined like silver. They say He can see deep in to your soul and tell you things you never even dreamed of but knew that it was meant for you. Looking to the others she tilted her head. "When do we go see this guy? I think we should go now... i heard he lives on top of the hill in a small hut."

Ray looked over to Celest.
"Sure, right now we really don't have anywhere else to go." She shrugged, things were going smoothly right now but you never know whats going to happen after you talk to someone that more or less knows when, how and, why you might die or whatever. Ray's hands iched to start a flame but she needed to hold back.
"Not here, not now." she told herself.

"Top of the hill? Certainly fits that creepy hermit stereotype. Well anyway I agree. The sooner the better." She did need to get settled down at a place and it would be nice to find somewhere to stay for the night. Holding two guitars, damn my guitar love. This old guy, I've pretty much seen two types: The helpful and the ulterior motive. I really hope this is the former or we're going to be in some deep doodee She looked at Ray who seemed to be a bit troubled. "Uh, anything wrong there Ray?"

((mythrah, if you want in, PLEASE go to the OOC thread, read the rules, and sign up properly. We're not even in a bar or anything like that - right now we're looking for an old fart who seems to know the great answers to the meaning of life, the universe, and everything, right down to the MEANING of 42.))

"Yeah, we probably should go now...I mean, what else can we do? I know I'm still lost here...if this guy can help us, I know I need it," Hideto replied. "A small hut on top of a hill...long white beard, blue eyes with no pupils...sounds like someone pulled from a fantasy story. So...sounds about right to me," he added with a laugh. His arms were beginning to feel a bit tired, and he wondered if he should have invested in an enchanted bottomless bag to carry everyone's stuff - surely in a place like THAT, he could have found one. He grew anxious to get moving - the less time they were standing around, the lower their odds of running into an...elebear, or anything equally dangerous-sounding.

Ray snapped out of her thoughts.
"Hmm? oh, no. I'm fine, just itching to get moving. This whole setup is just weird." Ray hated to lie but what would they do if they found out? It just wasn't the time to tell them anything like that. Maybe after they saw this old guy and learned a little more, just maybe she would tell them.

Claire nodded, not noticing what had really happened. She angled the guitars on her, so that she could carry one on her front and the other with her left hand. She walked with the others contemplating on Mr. Old Guy. "We're of to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz." She hummed this tune quietly to herself as they got started towards the hill. Hmm, well now I really wonder if everyone had powers. That's why we would be brought here in the first place right? At least in a movie. Maybe we'll all get like cool ass gems or whatever.

Reaching up Celest pulled her hair off her head and un did the braid making her hair go a bit wild for a moment but soon she calmed it and it went back to being long and curly. "That's better." She mumbled and looked up the hill. Celest began walking as she heard the humming and perked a brow. "We could all be dreaming like her." Reaching out she pinches Claire. "Nope not dreaming." Celest laughed a little and kept on waalking up the hill. "Its harder then it seems, walking with a dress.." she grumbled about the faries again.

Ray heard Celest's complaints and couldn't help but through her own thoughts in.
"Well, it's better that they washed ans dressed you and didn't kidnap and kill you." Ray smiled, She would've like to buy some new clothes but she the thought that someone might peek in on her didn't appeal to her very much. Ray wondered what they would learn form this prophet guy. Would he just babble on like they did in movies? Or would he tell them everything, just in riddles that would take months to figure out? Ray sighed. The climb to this prophet guy's house was getting steeper and Ray wondered how he got up and down without falling.

"Hey! Watch the skin." Claire rubbed the part where Celest had pinched her. Maybe I should help that by ripping that thing. She sighed and glared at Celest before nodding to Ray's comment. "Yeah at least they had good fashion sense." She looked back at her own choice of clothing. It was her basic club outfit, nothing fancy, but she would need to buy a jacket. Something she always reminded herself of. She pondered on how this old fart was going to help them. They usually spoke in riddles and cryptic messages. It was like going to a molester's house.
