Matthew continued to kiss Leane until he heard the front door opening in the kitchen. "I hope you can act, love." Matthew whispered before tucking Leane under his arm and let his eyes close slowly, pretending that he was fast asleep. "You can hide your face in my chest if it makes it easier for you." He said, breaking his facade for a moment.

Resting her cheek upon Matt's chest, Leane slowed her breathing and wrapped her arm across his abdomen. "I hope this works," Leane whispered softly as she closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep as well.

Matthew tucked his face into Leane's hair just as his mother walked into the room. "Oh." She said under her breath as she saw the couple followed by Matt's father walking into the room.

"Wake them up." His father whispered to his wife.

"Their just sleeping, darling." Matt's mother said softly even though she could see through this facade.

"Still."

"Oh, don't be such a grown up." His mother laughed, nudging her husband's side. "Come on, let's go to bed." She said as she led a reluctant husband outside the room.

When the door at shut, Leane smiled into Matt's chest before resting her chin where her cheek had previously laid. "I think we just won," Leane murmured softly as she left light kisses along Matt's jaw before placing a tender kiss upon his lips. "Though somehow that seemed too easy."

"I think my mom figured us out. She kind of rushed my dad out the door." Matthew whispered under his breath before giving her a tender kiss. "I guess we're gaining some trust. Despite the circumstances under you staying here...." Matthew said.

Leane blushed a deep scarlet as she slipped out of Matt's embrace and sat up in the bed, her hands reaching across her abdomen as she held her sides. "I'm sorry..." Leane whispered softly as she looked away from Matt, staring at the TV screen to try and focus on anything but Matt. "I'm so sorry.. Maybe I should go.."

"No. No, Leane. Stay." Matthew urged quietly as he put his arms around her waist and holding her close to his side. "What did I say?" He asked, confused by her reaction.

"It's not something you said.. It's just.. Something I realized.. Your parents, Matt.. What do they think of me? I'm the girl who got pregnant. The girl who's staying with them with their possible grandchild growing inside her. The girl who seduced their son and ruined him. They're starting to trust us despite the circumstances? Matt, if they hardly trust us, what can they possibly think of a girl like me?" Leane whispered softly as she rested her forehead against his neck. "They must hate me..."

"Lee, no." Matthew said softly as he rocked her gently in his arms. "They don't think badly about you because of this." He promised as he kissed her temple. "Sex is a decision that people make together and they know that I wanted to make love to you just as much as you wanted to make love to me. Its something we did together so they are not going to blame just one of us. My mother adores you. Why else do you think they'd let us sleep together?" Matthew asked with a small smile.

"I don't know.. I just, I don't know," Leane admitted softly as she sighed. "But if it weren't for me, you never would have been in this mess..."

"And if it weren't for me you wouldn't be in this situation." Matthew soothed quietly. "But we're in thie together. We made a mistake when we didn't use protection but we made that mistake together, Lee. The blame is on both of us equally." He urged before giving her temple a soft kiss.

"Matt.. I'm afraid... What if I'm pregnant.. Forever our baby is going to be thought of as a mistake, an accident, by everyone around us.. Will you think that?" Leane asked softly as she leaned into him, her arms wrapping around his waist as she sighed.

"Technically our child would be an accident, yes." Matthew pondered as he cradled Leane in his arms. "And I would wish that we had waited long berfore having kids but I promise to be with you no matter what happens. Just because we didn't plan for a baby doesn't mean that I will love you or the child any less." Matthew assured her.

"This is just bloody perfect," Leane said bitterly into his chest, "I possibly have a bastard child growing in my womb and forever it will be considered a mistake and will feel unwanted. How can I put a child through that? Our society is cruel, Matthew.. They will call it a bastard and will forever treat it as such. What are we going to do?" Leane whispered as her fingers curled around the hem of his pants in frustration.



READER'S NOTE:: When Leane refers to the child as a "bastard child", she is not calling the child a bastard as if you would call another person such out of anger. She is referring to the term in the meaning of "illegitimate child", or "child born out of wedlock".

"Leane." Matthew chided as his hands clench slightly around her frame at the idea of society shunning their possible unborn baby. "There are thousands of girls who get pregnant every year without being married. Just because we're young does not make us bad people. Society isn't want it used to be, this isn't the 1800s anymore. People are mose accepting now so please for the sake of both our sanities stop worrying about things. The only people that will matter in our baby's life should you be pregnant are the people who love her -or him- unconditionally without judgement."

"And my family? What about them? We're British, Matt, not American. They're highly old fashioned. You think they're going to accept it? Never. You've heard of my Father's sister. The Suptons are a vile family, stuck on traditions and protocol. It's going to cause hell for them.." Leane said softly with a sigh before reluctantly adding, "And you haven't been to the club, Matt. It may be pretty and seem understanding, but the gossip and scandal that goes on there is ridiculous. I'm just afraid of what's going to happen after all this is through.."

"Lee..." Matthew sighed as he wound his arms around her slender waist, pulling her closer to him in a familiar embrace. "I love you dearly but being stressed over this possible pregnancy is going to destroy you. I know this is difficult, I'm living it too. But we have to be strong or everything will tear us apart. And that is the last thing I want for us." Matthew assured as he put tender kises against her scalp.

Leaning into his embrace and into his kisses, Leane sighed heavily. "You're right, we have to stay calm. I have to relax over this. I cannot keep acting like this and freaking out every time I have a moment's rest to think. I'm sorry Matt.. I really am," Leane added softly as she turned her head slightly and leaned back into his chest, placing a tender kiss upon his lips as she placed her hand over his.

"Don't apologize, its alot to handle." Matthew murmured as he paused between kisses. "But we're going to get through this no matter the outcome and I'd hope for us to both be sane in the end." He teased playfully before lightly nipping at her supple bottom lip.

Leane laughed as she rested her forehead against his, "Mm, yes, that would be ideal wouldn't it. It just wouldn't do for us to both be insane in the end. I doubt our parents would be too happy if we drove each other to the loony bin," Leane teased before placing a tender kiss upon his lips.

"Is it corny if I make up a line here about you driving me crazy just by loving you too much?" Matt laughed as he pulled his girlfriend closer to him, a hand resting chastely on her waist while the other twirled innocently in her hair.

Leane laughed as she leaned into him, "Mmm, but it would be a sweet sort of corny."

"Leane," Matthew said slowly as he broke his lips from her's. "If I ever end up in the 'loony bin' it will only be because I loved you too much it drove me crazy." He said before kissing her once again, now tracing figure eights on her hip.

Leane laughed softly as she eagerly returned his kisses. "I like the sound of that," Leane murmured softly against his lips between kisses. "I love you, Matt."

"I love you too, beautiful." Matthew smiled against Leane's lips before burying his face in the crook of her neck, his arms wound comfortably around her waist. "Oh." He said before fully settling as if he'd forgotten something. He propped his head up and brought his hand in front to Leane's stomach. "And I love you too if you're in there." He added before settling back into Leane's arms to go to sleep.
