Kyle laughed lightly, as he followed beside Manon, mentally placing himself beside her and not visually in her arms like how the cat saw it. He carefully took Iris back into his arms and ducked into the car after her. "The Ringmaster should know that you're here."He said to Manon after closing the door beside him. Kyle had taken no notice of the other circus members, his attention was focused on the girl beside him.

((Wow! Page four already! ))
A tinge of apprehension filled Manon at the idea of meeting this Ringmaster. It was a good idea yes, but it made Manon nervous. Somehow the ringmaster had become a figure who took care of those in in circus, while looking at outsiders with suspicion. At least, that was how Manon had come to imagine him. "Is he going to mind? I can't perform but I can probably think of something else to do if it comes to that." She wanted her crazy, impulsive, circus trip to continue. IT was such a grand chance to explore the world like she'd always wanted to, plus Kyle was there. She wanted to know everything she could about him, and knew very well she hadn't even scratched the surface. Starting the car after the other member of their little quartet slipped in, Serenade mused about the girl. It certainly seemed like Kyle was enamored with her. It was a nice sight, when the young man was always so alone. A little smile flickered across her face. Serenade couldn't very well ignore their conversations when they were sitting in her car, now could she? |
Kyle paused in thought then shook his head slightly, as the cat curled up on his lap to take a nap. The earlier drama had worn out the cat, and it accepted sleep. Kyle smiled down at the cat and gently petted it's back. "He's a nice guy. . . a little strange, but I'm not exactly one to say." He chuckled. "I'm sure he won't mind, but it'll be good if he knows." Kyle tilted his head toward Manon.
|
A yawn left Manon as she set eyes upon Iris. A nap didn't seem like such a bad idea. "Yeah, I'm just nervous.. And I'm going to use you as a pillow now." Following her words the young woman leaned her head against Kyle's shoulder and closed her eyes. It was a really nice feeling, being able to do that. Manon began dozing off, lulled by the movements of the car and the fact that she felt safe.
Serenade could see signs wizzing by, and knew they were approaching their hotel. Not all of the circus people would be staying at the same place of course. She had chosen to stay with the main body of them though, and the ringmaster would be in the same hotel. Frankly, Serenade had a little crush on him. |
Kyle blushed lightly as he felt Manon place her head on his shoulder. He smiled, happily and bit his lip to keep himself from being to happy about it. Carefully, he placed his head on her and decided to go to sleep aswell. It was warm to sleep next to someone like this, when he had to share the back seat the other person tended to save distance between them.
The Ringmaster didn't sit in a car, he had a trailer that carried some props for some of the other members. |
Serenade pulled into the parking lot of the large hotel in the next city. It rose high, this building, with many lights which gleamed like fire in the night. Looking back at her passengers she smiled at the sweet sight, while her heart ached for something like that. Being a romantic, Serenade didn't think they were being too quick. What was the use of liking someone if they never knew? Of course, it was easier to think that then act upon it. Those were her thoughts as she stepped out of the car to wait.
Deep calm breaths left Manon as she slept the hours away. As she did so, one of her arms went around Kyle, as if to make sure he wouldn't leave. The young woman didn't dream, so much as wish. Wishes of something vague but powerful, that she had no idea what it could be. A hazy feeling filled her as her grey eyes opened groggily. For a few moments, it was hard to remember anything. Soon enough, memories came rushing back. A smile drifted across her face as she realized Kyle had fallen asleep on her. |
Kyle slept heavily, never had been able to be at such ease to sleep so deeply. He mumbled and spoke incoherent words, only a word or two could were able to be heard clearly, but wouldn't make sense with the other jumbled nonesense. He woke with a start when he felt the car had stopped, almost hitting his head against the young woman's beside him.
Iris jumped, waking in startlement of Kyle's sudden movement. It looked around quickly, which made Kyle a little dizzy from it looked around like that. "Can you pick something to look at?" He grumbled to it, but blushed slightly when he remembered that he had fallen asleep on Manon. "Ah, sorry." He said, embrassased at himself. |
A little huff left Manon's lips at the apology. The young man beside her was full of contradictions. Speaking of gouging his eyes out one moment, and apologizing left and right the next. "Kyle, would you stop apologizing for everything? I used you as a pillow, so it seems fine to me that you did the same." Reaching out she caught the unruly cat and picked it up. Lowering her head she whispered about treats in Iris's ears, but only if the cat behaved and didn't give Kyle too much trouble.
The smell of gasoline reminded her that they were still in the car. Lights filtered in, yellow and not quite right. Manon sighed and clambered out of the car with Iris still clutched in her hands. Turning slowly around to face the car again, Manon smiled a little. "Come on Kyle, we need to figure out where the Ringmaster is and then we can go find out which rooms we can have." She didn't dare suggest sleeping in the same room, even though she felt safe that nothing would happen. "The Ringmaster is in one of the trailers, or driving it," said Serenade helpfully. It appeared the young woman knew about the cat being Kyle's eyes. Definitely a lucky boy to have found her, or so Serenade thought. Unless a person grew up around strange things, it was hard to accept them. Of course Serenade had, so she took everything in the circus as a matter of course. |
Kyle was about to apologize for apologizing so much but he caught himself, and laughed lightly. He tilted his head confused as he heard her whisper something, then the cat purr happily, and rubbed against her. The young man was a bit surprised when the person in the front spoke to them and was being helpful. He smiled awkwardly though his head was still tilted down. "Thanks, Serenade." Kyle said, then reached for the car handle and opened the door.
The trailer that the Ringmaster was in, pulled into the lot just a few spaces from where the other main characters was. He climbed out with some papers in one hand while he held his hat onto his head incase the wind decides to randomly pick on him. The wind seemed to enjoy having him chase the hat, so he usually made sure to hang on to it. Menewsha Rp Chars and such :: ringmaster.jpg picture by Everlasting_hate - Photobucket |
((The Ringmaster makes me smile. lol I have no idea why. And, Manon is standing outside of the car.))
Manon watched as Kyle open the car door. Though hearing what this Serenade said, she craned her neck around to try and catch sight of this mysterious ringmaster. It was obviously the man who clutched his hat tightly to his head, as if afraid the wind would snatch it away. Turning to face Kyle, she bit her lower lip nervously and tightened her hold on Iris. "Do you really think it'll be alright?" She was more nervous about this encounter then she cared to admit. Serenade sighed, and slipped out of the car . Once Kyle was out, she locked it. Rolling her blue eyes slightly the young woman walked away from the two and towards the Ringmaster. It was strange, he never once had spoken his name in front of her. Serenade didn't know if it was purposeful or not, but she found it annoying. Once in front of him she inclined her head in greeting. "So Ringmaster, what room do I have this time around? Not number thirteen again I hope." It was a joke. Serenade always said thirteen was her lucky number, even though everyone else said it brought her anything but luck. |
Kyle stood by the car and felt around it until he stood near Manon. "We'll just have to find out." He said to the young woman. The cat whined slightly as the hold on it tightened. Kyle chuckled at her nervousness. "Ringmaster took me in, I'm sure he'll be happy with your stay." The one clad in black reassured her. He saw Serenade walk past the car to a man in blue, and Kyle smiled. "There he is! Come on, Manon." He said and reached out and slipped his fingers around her's that held Iris.
Ringmaster looked up from the papers that had the names and room numbers, and smiled brightly at the young lady before him. "Awh, I thought you liked that number?" He false pouted then laughed. "Yup, thirteen again. You have a room to yourself this time around too. I hope you don't mind. If so, I could try and find you a roommate." Ringmaster said, then saw Kyle behind her and a girl he didn't recognize. His blue eyes widened in interest, she was carrying the cat. "Who is the young lady with Kyle?" He inquired. |
Laughing, Serenade shook her head. Mimicking his pout, she crossed her arms and batted her eyelashes. "Of course I like that number, and maybe this time when I ask you'll finally tell me your name." Smiling prettily Serenade then turned her head to glance at the two behind her. "I think the girl is Manon." Inclining her head, she waited for her key.
Wordlessly Manon let herself be led. Instead of squeezing Iris again, she tightened her hold on Kyle's hand. Lowering her head she whispered, "Sorry Iris." That done she turned worried grey eyes to Kyle. Anything to stop herself from looking at Ringmaster. Trembling was beginning in her limbs as thoughts whirled around. She could pay for her own room of course, but if he refused to let her stay... ((Sorry for the shortness)) |
(I apologize for my absence)
The Ringmaster chuckled lightly and shook his head. "Not this time," He smiled and handed the young woman her room key. He looked over at Manon and exused himself from Serenity. "It seems two of our members has a new friend. How can I be of service, young miss?" The Ringmaster smiled warmly, still holding his hand and papers. He saw how she held Kyle's hand and held the cat, he had never seen the young man be so close with someone and the cat so comfortable. Even the Ringmaster had noticed the young man was a bit distant from him. Kyle smiled hopefully at the man as he saw the Ringmaster aproach them and greet Manon. "I was hoping it would be okay that Manon could stay with us, er, I mean, the cirus for a while. She's working on a . . . um. . ." Kyle paused and couldn't remember what it was that she was working on. "A project or something?" He said hesiantly, not sure if it was correct. The cat looked at the man then up at Manon and meowed softly with a purr a reasurance. |
Serenade slipped to the side with a disappointed air. Instead of leaving to go to her room, she went to stand by the front of the trailer. The conversation wouldn't reach her ears, but she would still be able to see the ringmaster. She was determined to find out more about him, and if perhaps he might return her feelings of interest.
Manon regarded the offered hand nervously a moment, before slipping her hand from Kyle's. Briefly sjaking the ringmaster's hand she then returned her own to it's original position. "My name is Manon. The project Kyle is talking about is a series of circus themed paintings for my painting class at university." Looking to Kyle, Manon sighed then turned back to the ringmaster. "I would really appreciate it if you let me stay. It'd be easy for me to pay for my hotel room, and I'm sure we could figure out some arrangement for while the circus is traveling?" Quite hesitant by now, Manon squeezed Kyle's hand quite forcefully in fear and uncertainty. The young woman sought reassurance from the small contact. |
Ringmaster smiled warmly as they shook hands, and listened carefully. When she was finished, he nodded. "Of course, I'd be honored if you'd stay with us. Though, I'm afriad all the rooms are now booked, only . . . hmm. I wonder if she'll mind." The blue haired young man thought out loud then glanced around and grinned at Serenade then waved his hand for her to come over.
Kyle smiled idlely as he held Manon's hand after her fingers returned back between his. He squeezed her fingers gently to give her courage to talk and grinned lightly when Ringmaster said it would be okay. "See? I told you he'd be alright with it." He said softly to the girl beside him that still held onto Iris. |
At the signal, though unexpected, Serenade moved forward. A perplexed look was upon her face as she regarded the little group. Her blue eyes were drawn irrevocably towards the Ringmaster, it was almost unavoidable by now. It had been a while, and she hadn't uttered a word about her feelings. "What is it Ringmaster? " Booted foot tapping, Serenade crossed her arms.
Relief, sweet and brief, washed trough Manon. This had been a little harder and nerve racking then expected. All the same, she was glad. Feeling the reassurance from Kyle, she smiled and tilted her head to him. "I should have known you'd be right," replied the young woman in the same tone. For some reason, it didn't seem like a good idea to broadcast their little conversation. |
Ringmaster smiled brightly at Serenade and turned to her, taking her hands in his, still oblivious about her feelings and how this little guesture could be missread. "Miss Serenade, will it be alright with you if Miss Manon rooms with you? I know how you've been wanting your own room and when you finally get one, I drop this one you, but please?" He asked, with a sweet begging tone. His blue eyes wide with a hopeful plea. He knew that if Serenade didn't agree that Manon would have to leave and that would leave Kyle sad and as the Ringmaster he couldn't let that happen. "We'd. . .I'd be deeply grateful to you."
Kyle smiled lightly at Manon's words and chuckled faintly. Through Iris's point of view he could see the older male somewhat humble hunched over as he held Serenade's hands. |
Feeling her hands taken made Serenade blush. A slight trembling overtook the clutched limbs, though it musn't have been too apparent. Then the smile caught her eyes, and his face... To see that face looking at her in such a way made her heart flutter to and fro in a mad dash. A little voice at the back of the dark haired girl's mind filtered every word he spoke, and calculated. This perhaps, was a chance to get some time alone with Ringmaster. "Only if you'll take me out to dinner," murmured the suddenly shy acrobat.
|
The Ringmaster blinked in surprise and then smiled. "Of course, I'd love to take my friend out to dinner." He said, standing up, completely missing the point. He squeezed the woman's hands slightly in promise and turned to Manon. "There, now you have lodgings. Be best if you don't wander too far, some of the members aren't the most friendliest of folk." Ringmaster warned with a smile.
|
Serenade blinked. A small smile flickered across her face. It was alright, this dinner, though the fact that Ringmaster was oblivious would make things a little more difficult. "I'll be looking forward to it. And Manon, it's room 13. I'll see you there." Waving as she left, Serenade walked away from the little group to ponder her situation concerning the Ringmaster.
"Thanks, and I won't I promise." Manon was going to stick with Kyle, no doubt about it. Turning her head to him, the young woman smiled. Sure, the young man was mysterious and kind of creepy in a way... But Kyle was also kind and sweet, which counted for a lot. "So Kyle, where are you going to be?" |
"Very good," The Ringmaster said then waved to Serenade as she left. "I have to make sure the others find their rooms and there aren't any issues like last time." He smiled at Manon then to the cat in her arms. "Now, Kyle. This time to take a blanket with you. I don't want it to snow on you again like last time." The Ringmaster said, then left.
|
Manon cast a perplexed look at the ringmaster. A blanket? "Kyle, what was he talking about?" Turning to him, the brunette tilted her head. She hoped this might not lead to another heart rending discussion. The young woman had enough of those to last a little while at least. Still, curiosity pushed her to regard Iris's eyes, hence Kyle, with a demanding expression. "Are you planning on sleeping outside?"
|
For some odd reason, Kyle felt a little scared as Manon spoke with a demanding tone. He cleared his throat and smiled nervously. "I-I don't like to sleep indoors. We're more comfortable outside. Just something I developed. . . yeah. . . Um, need help finding your room?" He asked quickly, hoping to change the subject.
Iris purred loudly in a rythm that sounded like a low laugh at Kyle. |
Manon sighed and shook her head. Faced with a decision, she chose to go with the harder route as usual. There were things to be found out, and there would be no backing down. "Kyle come on... Please tell me why?" A pleading note entered the young woman's voice as she regarded the green haired male. A little smile played across the grey eyed girl's features at Iris's purring laugh. "Then you can show me my room," stated Manon happily and decisively.
|
Kyle groaned lightly and shifted uncomfortably. "I'm just comfortable sleeping outside than indoors. It's nothing to tell." He said. He didn't want to tell her that he spent the majority sleeping outside, even when he used to live with his dad. He reached out and not so gently petted the cat. "It's not nice to laugh at me, Iris." He smiled forcefully, then shook his head and rubbed it's chin lovingly.
