(Won't be on for about a week until next Sunday. Just informing.)
Rick looked at his dirty hands and then back at Sophie. They'd been camping for two days and still were fighting like animals. It was horrible. And even worse, they were getting filthy and dirty, and not in a good way. Rick trudged higher up the hill and looked down. He had a thin layer of sweat on his forehead even though he'd only walked halfway up. He looked at Sophie again. "You bring the water?" he asked, his tongue feeling swollen because of his thirst. Rick wasn't exactly sure where they were going, but according to Sophie, nothing mattered as long as they were together.
Rick scratched his head and looked at his feet. Why had he worn pants? Who'd told him to wear long pants? Ugggh. He could be so naive sometimes. He should've known it would be hot outside today. It'd been hot yesterday. Oh well. It didn't matter. One more day and they'd be back in the city. And in three more days they'd be at Harry Honson's party. Honson always threw fun couples events. Ones that would make being with an inconsiderate girlfriend worth it. Rick trudged the last few feet up the hill and waited impatiently for Sophie.
Why had he ever loved her? What was hot about her? What was interesting? Nothing. That's what. She was still pretty cute. Her appearance hadn't changed. It was the attitude Rick couldn't stand. She could be such a bitch sometimes. Rick grunted at the thought of having to spend four more days with her just to get into Harry's party. It was almost unbearable, but worth it, none-the-less.

Sophie stomped along behind Rick and listened to him huffing and puffing. She almost wanted to laugh at him. "Jeesh Rick, you need to get back into shape! The water's in your backpack" she sighed and tackled another large rock. Looking down at her feet, Sophie could see the mud on her sneakers was drying off and she had little splashes of it up her tanned legs where her denim shorts didn't cover. Why on earth had she thought this was a good idea? A full weekend away with one of the most controlling and argumentative guys on the planet! In a way, Sophie had talked him into going with her in the hopes that it would rekindle their love. But all they had done was argue! A lot of the time, Sophie thought that Rick was missing alcohol too much to even think about anything else.
They had met a very long time ago, and soon after they had become an item. As the months turned into years, Sophie fell more and more in love with the guy she had known at the start of their relationship, but Rick was no longer that guy. The wrong crowd and the wild party's had all gone to his head and Sophie found herself wishing that she wasn't still in love with the old Rick.
They reached the top of the hill and Sophie stood up straight and looked down at the amazing view. It took her breath way for a few seconds. There was a slight, warm breeze rustling through the branches of the surrounding trees and it carried her long brown hair with it so that her locks were swept off her shoulders and blown around softly. "Such a beautiful day" she smiled, and then bit her tongue because she knew that Rick was going to react to that badly. He would either start an argument with her, shout at her or call her names of some kind, but either way she would be left feeling very stupid. I just want the old you back she prayed over and over, hoping that somewhere deep inside his mind, he had heared her, and he would sweep her up into his strong arms and hold her while they watched the sunset together.

Rick looked out into the sunset. All that he saw were a bunch of grayish-white clouds and a sky that appeared to be turning a light indigo blue. "What's so pretty about that?" he asked, beginning to walk down the path farther while digging in his bag for a water bottle. He found what he was looking for and turned toward Sophie. "Well? Aren't you gonna walk? Or do you want me to carry you the whole frickin' way?" he asked, taking a swig of the thirst-quenching liquid. Rick swatted a bug that had landed on his shoulder and looked at their surroundings. It was amazon rainforesty looking. All the trees and grass and things were covered with little water droplets, and the different animal's sounds were very peaceful. It made Rick sick to think that he was stuck there with Sophie instead of someone like Carrie Gibbons from his work. She was a pistol. An unannoying, funny, pistol. Truth be told, if Rick were gonna cheat on Sophie with anyone, it would have to be Sophie. And that includes having to choose between her and celebrities like Kim Kardasian, Nicki Minaj, and Angelina Jolie.
Rick trudged forward a few more steps and then took a breath, knowing what he had to do if he was gonna be less hot and sweaty. And with a final step, he unzipped his bag, took out the bug spray, and sprayed himself head to toe. Then he took his pants off and began using his emergency scissors (packed for if the beef jerky packs were unopenable) and cut his pants into shorts that stopped on around upper calf. He sprayed himself once more, making sure to cover his legs and his black plaid boxers in the stuff, then put on his new bottoms. Stuffing the scraps of pants into his bag, Rick stood and began walking once again, definitely feeling better than he had before.

Sophie frowned when Rick asked what was so pretty about the sunset. No imagination she thought to herself. It was actually quite amazing how much Rick annoyed her, considering she used to (and still did, truth be told) think the world of him. Sophie knew that even if he did annoy the life out of her, she wouldn't be able to cope very well without him. Following angrily in Rick's footsteps, Sophie began to think about their life. After watching with a rather amused grin on her face as Rick struggled with his pants and scissors and bug spray, Sophie decided she had to say something constructive.
"You don't want to be here with me, do you?" she asked, knowing full well that his answer was going to hurt her. Any sensible girl would just have put up with his anger and lack of caring, but Sophie was a little stronger than that. Sure, she hadn't been before she met Rick but then again, who would be strong with a family like hers and after a childhood like she'd had. "I mean, I can tell already, but if you really want to go, I'd rather you just say" she sighed and re-fastened her hair into her band. The sun was almost completely set now and there was a strange orange tint to the air. The bugs were getting louder and Sophie knew that they would have to find somewhere to camp soon or they would certainly get lost in the forest. That was without a doubt the last place she wanted to be lost with Rick.

Rick rolled his eyes at Sophie's suggestion, knowing that if he were gonna go to the party, he'd have to deny, deny, deny. "Yeah, I want you to be here. Why wouldn't I? It's just, I hate being out here when I'm hungry and it pisses me off when you walk all slow just to look at all this nature and crap." Rick answered, continuing to walk. Trudging on, he still ceased to have a reason for deciding to go on a camping trip, and in hindsight, maybe a couples retreat to a hotel would've been a better choice. But they were already out, and they needed to find a place to sit and eat.
"Do you have the map?" Rick asked, stopping in front of a bush. He wasn't sure where they were, and he didn't wasn't sure where they were, and he didn't want to keep going until he knew. He pulled his pack off his shoulder to check if it was inside. Nope. It wasn't. "Do you have it?" he asked more abruptly at Sophie, feeling his pockets and pulling them inside and out. There was no way he was getting lost in the woods with this chick. The thought of it scared him enough to make him research his pack.

Rolling her eyes, Sophie decided to pretend that she believed him. Rick was many things, but a good lier was not one of them. "Yeah, silly question!" she sighed and then picked up her pace slightly to try and give him less things to moan about. "Is this fast enough for you?" she said and she stormed past him and carried on down the hill. After Sophie heared Rick asking if she had the map, she stopped and turned around to look up at him. He was at the top of the hill she had just practically ran down, pulling his back pack to pieces trying to find the map.
A feeling of absolute dread washed over her as she realized that she didn't actually have the map either. They had stopped for a rest before and Rick had taken it out; maybe they'd left it back where they had sat down. "Erm, no. I don't have the map! Please tell me you picked it up before!" she shouted and ran back up the verge to greet him at the top. Somehow, Sophie knew that Rick would try to blame her for this. He'd be even more peeved off and angry now than he was before, and being lost in this forest with him was the last place she wanted to be right now. "Rick!" she shouted as she impatiently watched him pull things out of his bag. "Tell me we're not lost out here!" she almost cried.

Rick's facical expression slowly changed as he realized that neither of them had the map, and he definitely didn't know where they were. "Alright, alright... uh... I guess... I guess we should just go back the way we came before we get lost... er." Rick said, turning around and beginning to charge forward. But it didn't help. He couldn't tell one tree from another, especially when it was getting darker by the second, it seemed, and he couldn't tell where he was going.
"Do you know which way the road is?" Rick asked Sophie eventually, clearly aggravated. He was always angry when he didn't know what to do, and now was one of those times. Rick looked around, only to see trees and bushes that all seemed to look exactly the same. All of a sudden, Rick's hands began to shake and his cheeks puffed up with air as he tried to cope with the situation. Were they gonna be able to make it back? Were they going to be stuck out there for another hour, or another day? Those were the thoughts going through his head as he walked around a tall pine tree. It was all so overwhelming. He was stuck in the frickin' wilderness with the most annoying chick in the world. The only way that this could get worse was if a bear came out of no where and mauled him down.

Sophie sighed as Rick began to storm around looking aimlessly for the map. "Rick, it's absolutely pointless! We've been walking for about four hours! We're not finding the road and we're not finding the map tonight. It's already too dark! Why don't we just put the tent up and search as soon as the sun comes up. It's safer and a lot more sensible than storming around in the dark getting angry!" she almost had to shout the last part as Rick had vanished behind a tree.
It was all a massive mess, and the last thing Sophie wanted to do was climb into a tent with an aggravated Rick. She was all too familiar with what he could do when he was angry. But it was the best idea, and if he kept thundering around the place like an elephant, not only would they be separated and then both be lost, but he'd end up attracting the attention of some very unwanted and unfriendly company; like bears.
"Come on, I know it isn't what you want to be doing right now, but it's the only option we have" she sighed. Pulling the pack off her back, Sophie began to try and assemble the tent. Why had she chosen camping? She had no idea how to put a tent up, make a fire or even cook on one, but it seemed like the most romantic thing at the time. After all, they were very alone! But that blessing had turned out to be a curse.

Rick swallowed the words that were sitting behind his teeth and trying to get out and turned toward Sophie. "I'm not gonna just fuckin' calm down. We're lost. We have no map, no compass, and no road. We have no way of getting back to civilization. I'm not just gonna fuckin' sit here and 'set up the tents'." he said angrily, using his fingers as air quotes when he said "set up the tents". He could feel his face getting red with anger and he knew that Sophie was right, but he really didn't feel like being lost. It was on his top ten list of bad things. He always liked to be in control of situations, and he just couldn't do that if he were lost.
After taking a few breaths and staring at the sky to get the angry tears out of his eyes, Rick began walking again, moving fast and ungracefully toward the sunset. Nothing would stop him. He'd keep on going until he found other people. Even though Rick knew he was being over dramatic, but he didn't care. He wanted to go back in time to earlier today and break up with Sophie instead of help her pack and get ready to get lost in the wilderness. But of course, once he was finished day dreaming about what he should've done, it was three times darker and he was two times more lost.
