"You know, I don't care what it costs me, I'm so making you pay for that when I have a new body," she grumbled, unneccesarily dusting her arms. "I'm not your playtoy, you jerk."

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 06:19 AM

"Technically, you sort of are." He pointed out, "But I don't think of you that way. There, look." A rickety figure was carving her name into a blank headstone, and a large figured behind it was drawing closer. "That's the judge. He'll grant you your final form."

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 06:27 AM

She suddenly felt a little fearful and drifted a bit closer to Jin. "What if he decides I belong in hell?" She asked nervously. The idea, even as she asked, seemed completely ludicrous, but she didn't know how this all worked. Maybe all those stupid things she'd done when she was younger had damned her.

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 06:35 AM

"Then you'll be pretty useless to me. But don't worry about it, alright? You'll be fine."

The judge spread it's arms as if to offer an embrace, and Jin gave her a small push forward. "You'll be just fine, I promise."

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 06:38 AM

Glancing back at him, not all assured by his words, she stepped forward and looked up at the judge. She had no clue what to do, and her mouth couldn't seem to form any words, so she just stared up at him in terrified awe.

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 06:47 AM

The Judge seemed to engulf her, reading her every thought and action in a split moment, assessing everything about her. Without a word he began wrapping her in what appeared to be white thread, weaving her a form before granting her a pair of large white wings. ((Her form's up to you. o.o; ))

When he was done, Carol looked herself out, a tad confused. She looked about the same, save for a few more...feline-like characteristics. "Dang it, I'm a cat again?! Oh great. Can I just be human again now?"

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 07:20 AM

"A winged catgirl. How completely original. But of course, just wish it and it will be." He said with a small wave of his hand and a grin. "Let's head home, you'll be pretty worn out fairly soon. Dieing takes a lot out of you." He laughed.

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 07:41 AM

She glared at him. "Fine, let's go."
"One moment, please." A younger-looking man approached them, a small smile in place. He was gorgeous, with long silver-white hair, kind blue eyes, and large pure white wings. As he moved, he seemed more to float than actually walk. When he reached Carol, he took her hand in his, bringing it to his lips briefly. "Welcome to Angel hood," he greeted, a grin spreading across his face.
Her eyes widened, and she wondered if angels could blush. She certainly felt like she was blushing. "Oh, uh, thank you," she returned a bit breathlessly. "Does everyone get this greeting?"
He laughed, a pleasant sound that made Carol feel a bit weak. "No, you're special. I was sent to give you a guardian."
She smiled. "Is it you?"
"Unfortunately, no." He tilted his head slightly, his grin still in place. "Meeting you, I wish it was. But, alas, that's not what I do." His smile lingered a moment, then faded to a more serious expression. "Most angels don't receive a guardian, but with the danger posed to you-" he cast an unpleasant glare in Jin's direction then continued, "Higher ups decided it best to take some precautions to assure you last through this. We can't control what you do, but we can take measures to assure your safety and purity go un-jeopardized."
"Oh, see, Jin, you're causing trouble even now," she mock-scolded, looking at him before returning to the angel. "So who is my guardian?"
The man frowned, looking a bit uncomfortable. "Everyone gets assigned a guardian when they're born. Since there was such a low risk for you, you got a newer guardian..." His smile returned. "He's adorable, though."
A small creature poked its head out from beneath the angel's hair, hanging on the angel's shoulder. "Yes I am!" His hair was caramel brown, and very messy. From the top of his head grew two small, light blue horns, and two wings spread out from his bare back. A small blue tail flicked around behind him as he grinned at Carol. "Hi."
The angel pulled the guardian from his hair and plopped him in his hand, extending it to Carol. "His name is Diah."
"Like Jebediah?" She asked, taking the small man in confusion.
"Exactly."
"Oh..." She looked her new companion over. "You are cute...so small!"
The angel laughed and stroked her hair. "I assure you, he's good, depsite his size." He then moved past her to Jin, all humour vanished from his expression. "I'm aware she's under your contract now," he hissed quietly. "But do not hurt her."

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 07:47 AM

"I'm surprised you dare be so near me without any intent of fighting. And believe me, if I had any intentions of hurting her I would have done so already." He stepped forward, glaring at the pipsqueak of a guardian. "What -is- that anyway? Some sort of hamster? Will that thing be able to even survive in hell, much less protect her?" He shook his head. "Angels truly are useless... All flash and charm but nothing to give when they're truly needed, and just as bitter as any demon on either end of a sword."

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 07:52 AM

Diah glared up at Jin from Carol's chest, where she was holding him tightly and cooing over how cute he was. "I'm not a fighter, I'm a guardian. My job is to watch over her and protect her as needed. I have more than enough angelic power for that."
"Be nice to him, Jin," Carol said with a smile. "Look how cute he is!" She held him up for Jin to see, her expression adoring. She'd fallen in love with the creature already.

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 07:57 AM

Jin frowned at it. "It's going to be a pain in the ass and very little use. I'd say leave it here. Or at least find a way to shut it up."

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 08:06 AM

"No!" She clutched him to her chest again. "I'm taking him with, and don't you dare tell me to do otherwise, or I assure you, our time together will be very unpleasant."

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 08:28 AM

"I don't really care, just keep it quiet. Are you ready to go?"

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 08:47 AM

She nodded, her mood much improved. "Thank you, Sir...?"
The angel smiled. "Jeremy." He patted her head again, looking at her lovingly. "Be careful, so you can return to us safely." He pulled her into a warm hug before walking away.
"I like angels," Carol mused as she moved to Jin's side. "They're much more friendly."

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 08:54 AM

Jin felt a small spark of jealousy, bu he pushed it away. Her affection wasn't his goal. "Let's see one of them actually do some good." He grumbled as he grabbed her rather roughly, his wings spreading before enclosing them. When he spread them again they were looking up at a large building made of what appeared to be rich black marble. "Welcome home. Well, one of a few homes I suppose, but it's the most accommodating for what we need I think." He said as he left her and began to move up the stairwell to the door. "Are you coming?"

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 08:57 AM

"What's your problem?" She snapped, straightening her clothes and placing Diah in her shirt pocket. "Mister Moody, jeeze."
"Maybe it's that time of the month," Diah laughed.
Carol chuckled despite herself as she followed Jin. "Perhaps."

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 09:43 AM

The door opened and a tall busty woman in a rather skimpy outfit stood in the doorway. "Master, we weren't expecting you home so soon. I'll have your room readied, for two? Or does your guest get her own room?"

"Separate rooms Darla." He grumbled.

Darla looked like she was out of a fifties movie crossed with an exotic magazine. Her platinum blond hair was pulled up fifties style, her eyes were a clear blue, and her red lips were naturally pouty. She wore a black formal dress that cut off very short and dipped low on her chest, and a pair of heels that gave her an extra six inches. "Very well. This way please, dear." She motioned for Carol to follow her as several figured in the room set about getting the home ready for them. "That thing, be sure to keep track of it, it isn't welcome here." She said with a small hiss.

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 09:49 AM

"Why doesn't anyone like you, Diah?" She questioned, stroking her guardian's head.
"Because demons have no people skills," he answered, pointedly keeping his eyes off the women. "And apparently no fashion sense either. I wonder if they're aware it's the second millennium on Earth?"
She giggled, smiling as she followed the woman. "You're going to my make my time with Jin much more bearable, aren't you?"
"I aim to please."
She glanced over her shoulder at Jin. "You aren't coming?"

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 09:52 AM

Jin didn't so much as look at her, muchless answer.

Darla turned suddenly, grabbing the creature's head. "What happens on earth fashion wise doesn't concern me you filthy little thing. One more word and you'll spend your time here outside. Some guardian, unable to so much as be near your subject." She tossed the thing aside and pushed open a door. "This will be your room. Jin does not permit his guests to wander, you will be locked in. Good night."

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 10:01 AM

Carol gave the woman a horrified look and scooped up Diah. His hands were glowing a faint gold as he glared daggers at the woman, but he closed his eyes and the glow faded along with his expression of anger. "Such lack of self-restraint. Pathetic."
"I will not be locked in, and I will not be treated like this by some low-life demonic whore!" She turned back and walked over to Jin, planting herself firmly at his side and looking up at him. "I'll stay with you if that's what it's needed, but I'd rather your slaves didn't have me barricaded in a room."

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 10:10 AM

"Do you have to make everything so god damned difficult?" He asked, his voice even, but not exactly happy. "Darla, please refrain from giving her orders. Carol, please just get some sleep. I thought you'd be eager for a break from my company. I can't have you roaming around this place freely, the first demon here to see and not recognize you would take your head off." He turned to face her. "Besides, you can see quite clearly the company I keep, are you certain you want to share a room with me?" He asked. Although he rarely took advantage of any of the 'help'. Sue was one of very few he actually enjoyed being with, and even that was a rarity.

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 10:13 AM

She frowned. He raised good points, but she was a bit hurt by his obvious attempts to get rid of her. "I'm sorry...I didn't realize I'd annoyed you so much..." She sighed. "Okay, I'll be a good pet and go to my room, Master." There was an unnecessary amount of bitterness to her tone as she tried to cover up any hint of hurt feelings. The last thing she needed was him knowing he could manipulate her emotions by being "mean".

Burnt Biscuits 08-28-2008 10:20 AM

Sue rather suddenly came running down the hall, "Jin, Jin!" She stumbled and straightened, muttered something in his ear, and stepped back. Jin looked alarmed and turned to carol. "Room, now, don't leave, stay quiet." He ordered before tearing off into the shadows of the home.

"Come on Carol, now isn't the time to argue." Sue said as she took Carol's hand, pulling her towards the room. Darla was barking orders at other servants, and soon vanished as well. "There's an intruder, probably an angel. There were reports of a few of them having made it past the border. Several angels that lose the lord's grace think they can regain it by slaying powerful demons in his name." She explained. "This house isn't a main house, and it's protection is limited. Of course, Jin will sort it out pretty quickly, but he wouldn't want you hurt int he meantime."

Bishielurfer 08-28-2008 10:25 AM

"Too late," she muttered under her breath, allowing Sue to drag her along.
Diah reached up, patting her cheek, though alarmed suspicion danced across his expression. She couldn't be...falling for the demon, could she? Even without her free will, Carol would have been more privileged than others, one of the main reasons he'd been sent along with her, and the situation was bad enough with her under the demon's control. A union between the two would spell catastrophe for the heavens.
"You think he's really mad at me?" She asked Sue softly. She wasn't exactly eager to spill her guts to Jin's main squeeze, but there was no one else for her to talk to.
