"Wish you would stop 'hushing' me," she grumbled, but said nothing else after that.
Diah was already inside, following Nichole around unseen. She was busy cooking dinner, her new fiancé speaking to her from the doorway about a trip he was taking the following week. The sounds around the home were unusually loud; she lived in a very busy city.
A sharp twinge of pain alerted him to a demonic presense and a low growl escaped his throat.
"You here something?" Nichole said suddenly, looking around. The man looked confused and listened for a moment, then shook his head. "Must be my imagination."
So she can hear me...that's not good...Well, good for her, not for me. He headed outside, shifting back to his larger form in front of Elias. "Leave," he commanded firmly. "You have no business with this human. It is against the rules to interfere with innocent mortals."

"Since when to demons follow rule? And I'm not interfering... not yet anyway." He said as he slid in through a window. He gave a low whistle, "That's one fine figure."

"Wish you would start hushing." He retorted.

"Shh!" Diah hushed him as he followed. "She can hear you!"
"I'm sure I'm hearing something!" Nichole frowned. "You really don't hear it?"
The man looked concerned. "No...Maybe you should go lie down."
"No, no....I have to finish this."
"I can--"
"No."
"Okay..."

Elais blinked in surprise, then grinned. He moved atop the 'fridge, "Nichole... NICHOLE!" He called, tapping loudly on the side of the fridge.

Nichole looked around but bit her lip and said nothing. She didn't need her new fiance thinking she was nuts already.
Diah angrily reached up and grabbed Elias' arm, giving it a sharp yank. "You need to leave!"

An unsettling feeling fell over Carol. "Jin...my sister..." she whimpered softly.

"She'll be alright, I've taken care of it." Jin assured her.

A tall man in a dealer (poker dealer) outfit stood on the doorstep. He had a large build and a friendly face, as if giving off a vibe that one could trust their first born to him on impulse. His eyes were a soft yet deep shade of brown, and his shaggy hair was a golden blond color under the uniform hat. He crossed the room with long strides, and Elias looked at him with terror.

"Elias, it's time to go home, don't you think?" He asked, shoving the angel out of his way and lifting Elias down by the pits as if he were a cat. "I forbid you to come near this woman again, you understand?"

"Yes sir..."

"Say byebye to the nice angel."

"Byebye..."

With that Marcus threw Elias over his shoulder and headed for the door.

The man's push did little save cause Diah to step back a few steps, mostly out of courtesy. He watched them, then vanished, reappearing a few feet from the house where a small woman with short green hair stood. Her wings were a vivid green as well, and she flitted about nervously. "He's gone."
"Who was that?" She asked, her voice thick with fear. "Nothing like that was ever supposed to happen to her, she's low-risk!"
"Calm, Rose." He sighed. "He was looking for a way to get to Carol without actually going through her."
She glared, suddenly moving inches in front of him. "Your assignment did not take into consideration other dangers. I say it's time to up your security."
"I know."
"I'm saying 'do better'."
"I know."
She stared into his eyes a few moments longer then backed away. "Well, good. I hope nothing comes near my child again. And I hope you don't fail."
"Nothing will happen to either girl." With that, he vanished again, and Rose drifted to the house.

Marcus caught up to Jin and held up Elias, "Mission accomplished... I don't see why you let him roam around."

"He his his uses." Jin said as he pressed a finger to Elias forehead. He glowed a moment, and then shrunk into a small black puppy-like creature. He handed the puppy to Carol. "Be nice to him, hmm?"

She looked disgusted, holding him at arm's length. "I don't want him. This guy's a creep."

"You'd rather have him loose?" He questioned, "He might piddle on my carpets or something." He said as he reached the door to his room. "Are you ready to actually sleep?"

"I suppose...I really don't want him, though. Take him back." She held him out to Jin, looking at the creature as if it were something out of the trash.

The puppy whimpered and Jin set it on the floor. "Go entertain Marcus." He told it, and it grudgingly trotted off. "Let's get to sleep." He said as he stepped into th room and pulled off the robe.

She followed, slipping the robe off and handing it to him. "Oh, before I forget...we need to do something about the clothes in that closet. Everything in there is either black or looks like something a cheap hooker would wear. A lot of them are both."

"Sorry about that, Darla is in charge of keeping the closets stocked, and of course, you've seen her tastes. A classy hooker. Classy, but still looks like a hooker." He slid under the covers, motioning for her to join him if she wanted. "This is the only night his will happen... tomorrow I'll have the room next to mine set up for you. Close enough you'll be safe, far enough I can do as I please without disturbing you."

She slid in next to him. "Oh? What do you plan to do that you can't do with me here?" She smiled. "Judging from what Sue told me, you don't take much interest in the women."

"I take plenty of pleasure in women, or I never would have messed with you in the first place." He pointed out.

"I didn't say women, I said the women." She snuggled a bit closer, wrapping her arms around him. "Does the almighty Jin actually find dignity attractive?"

"Perhaps... but that's all the more reason to have separate rooms." He said as he turned over so he wasn't facing her. "I never thought I could get tired of cleavage and short skirts, but a little modesty can be sexy too. If I told -them- that though they'd all suddenly be parading floor ength skirts, baggy pants, and heavy jackets. It would be so much more appealing if they'd just stop trying." He gave a small sigh, "But that's the least of the problems around here, and it's not nearly so bad at the main house. Let's get some sleep alright? I'm not kidding, we're out of here early tomorrow, and it's going to be one hell of a long day for you."

She sighed softly. "It's going to be weird not having you nearby. I've gotten used to you being there when I sleep. Oh well...I suppose Diah will work for a teddy." Closing her eyes, she murmured, "Where are we going tomorrow?"

Jin winced at that, not liking the idea of Diah taking his place. "You'll find out." He grumbled.

"Hey Jin," she said softly, her voice getting a bit faint as she quickly drifted off. "Is it hard for you to be around me?"

"A little, yes." He admitted, deciding not to elaborate. "Don't worry about it, alright?"

"I'm sorry..." Her voice was barely a whisper now. "If I could change it, I would."

"Don't worry about it, Carol." He said sleepily, "It's alright."

A small smile crossed her face and she gave him a light squeeze. "I'm still going to worry."
