Welcome to Evergrove Inn.

Evergrove Inn is just a small little inn in an enchanted wood. You can come and go as you please, and all there is to pay is your stories.

Evergrove is a small two story building. The first floor has a bar, tables, a kitchen, and a extra room with a big table and extra chairs for "private meetings". The second floor has ten rooms that are furnished with a variety of things (use your imagination), but every room has at least one bed, a wardrobe, a basin, and a mirror that takes up the whole wall. Outside there is a few tables and a vegetable/wildflower garden.
There is a spell over the land around Evergrove that makes the land always like spring, except when the owner is sad or distraught, and then the weather changes to autumn.

There are a few rules to follow in the simple little inn:
1) Follow Mene rules.
2) Romance is okay but please no cybering.
3) Keep cussing to a minimum.
4) You can be a god/goddess but no controlling people or smiting them etc.
5) If you are a killer-type person, keep the killing out of the inn.
6) Post your profile in the thread and PM the page number to me.
7) If you need help, PM me.
8) For talking out of character please use "(( ))" or "[[ ]]" etc.
9) Have fun and drink your tea/coffee/ale.

Background/Personality: Mel inherited the inn from her mother, who inherited it form her mother and so on. The Evergrove women have always taken care of the inn and now it is Mel's turn. She Is kind and caring, always there if you need someone to talk to and she is fast to make friends.

Magic: All magics associated with air and earth.
Appearance: Tall 5'7'' Mel is slim and slender and she has long slightly wavy golden-blond hair. Her eyes are a very deep violet, though given her air elemental blood, Mel always seems to have the wind in her hair and her violet eyes are slightly foggy when she's calm. Heres a picture of her.

Mel was up in room seven, making the bed. The early morning light shining through the window. It was so peaceful.
Mel Walked down the steps to the bar her long brown skirt trailing out slightly behind her. The inn had been empty for a few days now and Mel had gotten a little lonely.
"I wonder if the roads have been closed..." Mel said sadly. She sighed and went outside and sat at one of the table outside letting the spring air brush across her skin.

Mel stood and went back inside.
"I might as well start the kitchen working." She said as the wooden door closed behind her. Mel walked over to the open kitchen door. The kitchen was empty but that did not bother Mel.
"Nehtrae scigam dna Nairia oot, tel em worrob rouy cigam dna tes siht nehctik ot gnikam tsafkaetb." She spoke in the goblin tounge. The kitchen slowly began to move making an assortment of breakfast foods. Satisfied, Mel sat down behind the bar and took out a book that she usually read when there was nothing better to do.

((If my version of "Goblin" is spelled backwards, what did Mel say???))

Ryu was walking in an unfamiliar town. He had been on the road for days, looking for a place to stay. He had little change, but he would offer any place he came to a man who could be put into work without complaints. After 20 minutes of wandering about, he found an inn. It wasn't the best place he had ever seen, but it was better than nothing. He entered, going to the nearest counter, waiting for somebody to respond. "Is anybody here?" he asked.

Mel looked up from the counter and spotted a young man standing in the doorway.
"Hello, sit down. Would you like anything to drink?" Mel asked. The man looked liked he could use a nice bed and some hot soup.

"Um... yes," Ryu said. His cat Mokea jumped out of his jacket and landed on the counter. "Um... I have a problem... I don't have much money... but in return for letting me stay here... I'll work for you..." he said, grabbing his cat.

Mel took a cup out from under the counter but she froze when the man said "I'll work for you." the Evergrove inn had only ever been run by it's owner and it needed no other help. Mel gave something of a nervous chuckle.
"The only payment I take is that of stories. No need to work for me, I have plenty of helpers." She waved a hand at the kitchen. Mel also noticed the man's cat.
"I also don't mind if your cat walks around, I've been planning to get one, but never got around to it. Now tell me, what would you like to drink?" she didn't want anybody to do what they didn't want to, and of course this how the inn had always run. On stories.

Alia was running down the road, looking for somewhere to hide, anywhere, anything to get away from the two little twerps that were chasing her. Suddenly she spotted a small inn, Evergrove Inn,"Oh thank god!" she said aloud in a heavy Irish accent, and dashed inside. "Hello, is anyone here?!" She said in a rather annoyed voice, someone should really be manning the check in desk, she thought to herself.

"Anything please," Ryu said. "I'm not picky." Mokea was sniffing everything, trying to catch the scent.

"Are we staying here?" She asked.

"Yes, Mokena."

Mel filled the man's glass with some apple cider. It was the first thing that popped into Mel's mind.
"Here you go." She said handing him the glass. It was then Mel noticed the small young lady standing near the door.
"Hello there." Mel said to her.
"Would you like anything?"

Ryu took a drink, "Wow... this tastes great," he siad. "I haven't tried anything this great since I lost my money..."

Mel smiled.
"I'm glad you like it. It's my mother's recipe." She said, her attention returning to the man.
"May I ask what you and your cat's names are?" Mel asked. She like to be able to call her guests by something more than "Sir" or "Ma'am".
"And may I also ask your story? 'Tis what this inn was build for; story tellers." Mel said, thinking back on the history of the old inn.

Ryu smiled, "My name is Ryu... and her name is Mokea." He took another sip of cider. "Okay, I'll tell you my story. About a year ago, believe it or not, I was avery rich man. I went to a city that was extremely poor, and I had wished to help them out. For months I had helped them get together on their feet. I helped build houses, clear farmland, and I gave money to the people in the village... soon though, I had nothing left... and I was forced to live the life of a begger..." he told her. "Feel free to ask questions if you like..."

"Nice to meet you Ryu and Mokea." She said holding her hand out in front of Mokea, just to make sure that Mokea didn't mind if Mel pet her. Mel listened to Ryu's story and smiled to herself on how kind he had been. Feeling like she was supposed to do something, Mel went back to the kitchen and then came back with a small leather pouch.
"Here. I don't need any. I live on my magic." She said as she put the pouch in front of Ryu. The clink of coins could be heard as she did so.

Ryu took the bag, "No... I possibly couldn't take this, I'd feel guilty," he said.

Mel closed Ryu's hands around the bag.
"I don't need it. Take it. It's yours." She said kindly, her violet eyes glowing softly. She may have come from a goblin blood-line, but she did not crave gold like the others. In fact, she didn't like gold at all.
"You will need it elsewhere. But not here. Evergrove inn never takes gold as payment."

"Yes I would." Alia said curtly "Do you have any rooms?" "Preferably one with a window." She added, almost as an after thought.

Mel's attention once again switched between guests.
"Um, yes. I do believe a few rooms have windows. You may go upstairs and look and through them for the one you want. When you find one, tell me the room number and I'll give you the key." Mel said kindly, waving one hand in the direction of the stairs.

"Thanks" Alia said gratefully, It was not a word she usually used, and even surprised herself when she said it. She turned to go, but realized she didn't know where the stairs were "Um, where are the stairs?" She asked, with a flicker of annoyance.

Mel came our from behind the bar and showed the small lady were the stairs were.
"There are nine rooms available. The seventh is mine." Mel told her, just so the lady wouldn't feel weird if she walked into Mel's messy room.

Alia dashed upstairs and looked through the rooms, when she found one with a window she layed down on the bed, and fell asleep for about an hour, when she awoke, she realized she was starving, and went downstairs to get something to eat. When she found the innkeeper she asked "What is there to eat?'" She acted as if the other guest wasn't even there, having inturupted thier conversation, it was like she didn't even notice him
