"Welcome to the Laughing Duck!

Situated in a remoted part of Trigan Kingdom, the Laughing Duck Inn is a small two stories building made out of lumbers that has been welcoming visitors for more than a century. The inn is open 24/7, greeting people with cold beer in the summer, and hot cider during winter. The landscape around the inn includes a river, some fields and a deep forest. With the years, a small village has formed around the inn to try to answer travelers needs as best as possible. The village includes a blacksmith, a general shop and some farms. Villagers usually gather at the inn at night, the main room becoming like a local pub. Rumors said that the forest and mountains behind it are home to some strange creatures, as well as the ruins of a forgotten civilisation.

The Laughing Duck is a fantasy action RP, where players will have the chance to travel into a new world and solve mysteries. The RP will be divided in episodes, each of them containing its own storyline, but all starting from the inn at some point. Check post #2 for info about the past and current episodes. My role here will be to guide you through the story and help you if needed. Even if I'll be the one introducing the main storyline events, that doesn't mean you can't try things out. I'll be glad to see people joining and creating their own little adventure. :)


Rules:
1° Follow Menewsha rules at every moment.
2° This is a semi-literate, 3rd person RP.
3° No god-moding (i.e taking control of someone else character).
4° No excessive swearing.
5° No killing of another character, except if the owner of that character PM me with autorisation to kill his/her character.
6° Respect other and you'll be respect.
7° I can add new rules at anytime.


Character Restrictions:
Here is a list of the things I want and don't want to see in characters. Those rules are not meant to annoy people, but to make the RP more fun and fair for everyone.

First Resctriction: About Race, you can choose to be of almost any race you want, even mutant or werebeast, but I don't want god-like character. If you're something like a half-god or have some god blood, your powers must still have a clear limit. This is really to make the RP more fun for everyone. I mean, come on people, if you can solve all the problems by yourself, it becomes really boring for other players. :)

Second Restriction: Keep your age plausible for your race. Some races live longer than others, and therefor the development of character from those races is slower than average, which mean that they will maybe look adult only at the age of 100 years old or more. Also, remember that this RP is meant to have many parts, each of them taking place in a close future, so your character will have to be able to live long enough to see those parts if you want to play in them. If you're not sure of what age you should be, just do a quick search on internet or ask me.

Third Restriction: Your description must include a physical and mental/behavior description, as well as some strentghs and weaknesses. It can be long or short, depending on how you feel.

EPISODE 1:
Where all begins...

The day started beautifully. The sun was shinning up in the sky and there was not a cloud to be seen. The wind was gently blowing in the fields, carrying the smells of the flowers that grow on the side of the inn. The villagers were walking in the streets, talking to each others and having fun. Some little children were running around, playing games together.

As the sun set, a strange noise came from the inn, something that sounded like a scream, but not a human one. Maeve, the innkeeper, and some of the customers started looking around to see what could have done that noise. They checked everywhere in the inn, without success. After the noise was heard a second time, they went outside, and looked at the cellar door. The old cellar has been locked for years, and no one could even remember seeing someone getting down there. The villagers posted one of the strongest man to watch the door for the night, and the next day, an ad was up in the inn saying:

"Looking for strong and brave adventurers. Reward at the end for those who will complete the mission succesfully. Interested people shoudl talk to the innkeeper for more information."
