Sho-Shonojo 10-23-2008 02:00 PM

"Good morning," Coen said with a small smile. "You weren't kidding when you said that you liked this place huh? Sun's barely up and your reading again. What are you reading?"

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-23-2008 02:16 PM

Nicoleus smiled.
"I always get up this early. I have no idea why. I just do." He said shrugging and showed Coen to the old record book.
"I was interested by the room we found and the rumors about why it was there, I thought I'd look it up." Nicoleus said opening the book where he had marked it.
"But all I've found about this mystery student so far was that it was a girl, and she could control every aspect of black magic." He took a breath.
"And I've gone through most of last years records. So I'm not sure how much more I'm going to find." He said shrugging. He normally didn't read the records, for the fact that hey were quite dull for the most part, but he'd start here and move on later.

Sho-Shonojo 10-23-2008 02:28 PM

"Black magic?" Coen asked, "Since all I really know about black magic is what I read in old fantasy books as a kid, mind explaining it for me? What exactly could this girl do?" He hopped Nicoleus didn't find him too clueless. Being newly introduced into the magic world left him in an awkward spot when it came to the community, but he was just as curious about this student as Nicoleus was.

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-23-2008 11:07 PM

"Well there are different stages of black magic, as with all magics. But black magic is the most hard to control, in any state. This girl could control all states of black magic. Everything from reading minds and becoming invisible to creating mini black holes in her hands and becoming a demon." Nicoleus explained.
"Black magic is also the most lethal to your physical and mental health. One scratch when using the magic, and your cursed." He said, feeling a shiver going down the back of his spine as he thought of the consequences.
"I had to learn all of this last year when they found that my shape-shifting powers could mimic black magic ever so slightly." Nicoleus said, chuckling nervously.
"So I'm assuming the reason they put her in that room was to protect both her and the other students. And that she might be coming back. But I haven't finished reading that part." He said.
"Care yo join me in my search until breakfast?" Nicoleus asked Coen, opening the record book.

Sho-Shonojo 10-24-2008 01:31 AM

Coen listened with a mixture of respect and awe for this student's incredible magic. He had had no idea that black magic was so dangerous, but it made sense that something so powerful would have consequences. Using his fire skill alone risked a burn. Coen was even more interested when he heard that this student may be returning to the school. "Sure," Coen said to Nicoleus' question, "I'll help." He couldn't help being curious about this young woman.

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-24-2008 05:51 PM

"Great. Here." Nicoleus said handing Coen the next record book for last year.
"Look for anything that seems like they tried to mention as little as possible. Thats probably what we're looking for." He said, turning back to his book.

Sho-Shonojo 10-24-2008 07:50 PM

Coen took the book and sat down at the table with Nicoleus. He opened it up, sat back in his chair and started reading. For the most part it wasn't very exciting. It recorded all the students who attended, ones who came in late to the school, those who were expelled. There were records of fights resulting in suspensions and students who had excelled. If there hadn't been mention of spells that had been used, or magical concoctions causing trouble then it probably wouldn't have been much different then his old school's record book. So far, it all seemed normal.

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-25-2008 06:23 PM

Nicoleus read on, almost falling back asleep, any information on this mystery girl just got less and less. He closed his book and put it in a pile on the table. Nicoleus breathed deeply, running his fingers through his hair and taking his glasses off. He got up and got the last record book for last year and opened it and began to read.

Only a few pages into the last book, the bell for breakfast rang. Nicoleus sighed. He and Coen would have to continue their search later. Nicoleus put a book mark in his book and stood up, stretching.

Sho-Shonojo 10-26-2008 02:09 AM

Coen had just gotten comfortable when the bell for breakfast rang. He marked his page with a dog ear before getting up and stretching. "It's impossible to find anything about this girl. Where exactly did you find that other stuff about her?" He asked. His search had been futile but, "Maybe I just don't know what to look for."

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-26-2008 02:25 AM

Nicoleus walked towards the library door and opened it for Coen.
"I found it in the first few records, it was spread out, impossible to see if you weren't looking for it." He said shrugging.
"I bet you'll know it when you find it." He said to Coen saying that he didn't know what to look for.
"I'll be sure ask about her in class if the topic of black magic comes up." Nicoleus said, cleaning his glasses and putting them back on.

Breakfast was eggs. Scrambled, sunny side up, everything. As well tofu scramble and such for the vegans and vegetarians. Nicoleus got himself a plate of cheesy scrambled eggs and headed over to his and Coen's table.

Sho-Shonojo 10-26-2008 03:35 AM

Coen left with Nicoleus and headed to the cafeteria. There, he got a plate of sunny side up eggs and some toast. He sat down across from Nicoleus and started eating. The hour of searching had left him rather tired, and he wanted to think of something other then the mysterious student, "So Nicolues," Coen said, grasping for some other topic, "Have you always been going to magic schools?"

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-26-2008 03:44 AM

Nicoleus looked up as Coen asked him a question.
"Hm? Oh, no. Last year was the year I found out about my powers, and my first year here. Though I did a hell of a lot of reading about magic schools once the information was available to me." He said, pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose.
"I'm guessing this is your first time?" Nicoleus asked in return.

Sho-Shonojo 10-26-2008 04:07 AM

Coen smiled. He had figured that with all of his knowledge, Nicoleus had grown up in the magic community. It surprised him. "Yea. I've known about my power for a couple years, after I moved in with my dad, but this is the first time I've gone to a magic school."

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-26-2008 03:48 PM

Nicoleus nodded.
"Well you'll like what you learn from here. Controlling fire has to be easier than changing shape," He said chuckling.
"I bet you'll have it down half way through the year." Nicoleus said, finishing up his eggs.

After breakfast Nicoleus put his plate in the respectful pile and headed outside with Coen. Sir Greatmorre was waiting impatiently for everyone to come outside.
"Alright!" He yelled.
"Five laps 'round the school!" He said, waving his hands in circle above his head.
"And be quick about it! We have a new student arriving and you all don't want to be late to meet 'em do ya?" Sir Greatmorre called as the students headed around the left side of the school. The fact about a new student caught Nicoleus' attention. That had to be his and Coen's mystery girl!

Sho-Shonojo 10-26-2008 10:12 PM

"Well I hope not," Coen said in reply to Nicoleus' prediction, "I'm sure class would get rather boring once I'd mastered it."

After breakfast the pair went to Sir Greatmorre's class where they were dealt five laps. Coen would have been down trodden, if not for Greatmorre's mention of a new student. Coen looked at Nicoleus out of the corner of his eye, "You don't think...?" What were the odds?

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-26-2008 10:44 PM

Nicoleus took in a deep breath and cleaned his glasses.
"I don't know, but I think we have pretty good chance thats it is her." He said, puting his glasses back on.
"But we won't know until she shows." Nicoleus said, heading back inside, eager to find out.

The main hall of the school had rows and rows of chairs and every one was sitting down.
"Lets head for a seat near the front." Nicoleus told Coen, heading in said direction without waiting for a response. The two of them sat about six rows away from the front. There was a stage-like platform at the front of the hall, about four feet off the ground. There wasn't anyone on it right now. Nicoleus tried to imagine what the girl would look like. How would he know it was her.

After everyone found a seat and the room had quieted down the principle came out onto the platform. She was a very tall slender woman with long dark chocolate brown hair who looked about in her late thirties.
"I know it isn't very common to get a student late, but there were some complications with transport." She spoke. Nicoleus held his breath, "Get on with it already! Is it her!?" He thought.
"I'd like to introduce Andre Silverbane." The principle said, as a young girl, about fifteen, walk onto the platform. Nicoleus was taken aback. The girl's hair, was all a vibrant purple. And her eyes! Even from the sixth row, Nicoleus could see Andre's eyes. They were a glowing storm-blue that almost crackled with electricity.

Sho-Shonojo 10-26-2008 11:14 PM

Coen was seated next to Nicoleus in the auditorium, which was brimming with a sort of light curiosity. Students around them whispered back and forth about who it could possibly be that would enter the school late. He had to figure that Nicoleus and himself were the only ones who might think that this girl was a powerful master of black magic.

As the girl finally appeared on stage, Coen could not believe his eyes. Her hair was a strange shade of purple and yet he found himself wondering if it might be natural. Her eyes glowed a bright blue.

He leaned over to Nicoleus and whispered, "Is that her?" He found himself wondering if she could hear him.

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-26-2008 11:21 PM

"I don't know. But I think it is. Only someone with a power that strong would have such an effect on so many people." Nicoleus said, pointing out that all the students, even the principle, seemed to be nothing compared to this girl.
"Andre will be taking the morning classes with you only." The principle said smiling. With that, everyone was dismissed form the main hall to go up stairs to the second floor.
"If she's in your class, she what you can find out about her," Nicoleus told Coen.
"If I find myself in the same classroom as her, I'll see what I can scrape up." He said winking and heading to his class room.

Sho-Shonojo 10-26-2008 11:35 PM

Coen looked around the auditorium. Nicoleus was right, the other people in the room seemed to shrink around her. She stood out among them all. As they moved out of the auditorium, dismissed to their classes Coen listened intently to Nicoleus' plan, and agreed, if not with some reserve. He wasn't exactly jumping to question the girl, but he was interested in her. Anyone who was forced to live in a secret room of the school and take classes by themselves had to be pretty interesting. He just hoped she wasn't hostile about it.

As the two parted, Coen made his way to his first class and settled into his seat. His eyes remain fixed to the door as he waited, wondering if the girl would be in the class with him.

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-26-2008 11:49 PM

Nicoleus sat at his desk, looking towards the door, wondering if the the girl might come in. But his attention went to the teacher as he started talking about black magic. Last year, this hadn't come up until half way through the year. This lecture only hinted more to this girl having power over black magic.

Meanwhile, Andre was lead to Coen's class room. She had mastered the art of dark fire while away and was to learn with the fire elementalists for a little while.

((BTW, Andre is the the black magic girl, but isn't allowed to talk about her power.))

Sho-Shonojo 10-27-2008 01:00 AM

(Ok)

Coen looked up in surprise as Andre entered the room. While he had been waiting for it, he really hadn't expected her to come in, but then, he didn't know all the elements of black magic. He sat back and waited for the teacher to address her and give her a place to sit. While he couldn't help looking at her, he hope she wouldn't notice, he didn't know how she would feel about it.

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-27-2008 04:44 PM

The teacher welcomed Andre to the class and pointed to a seat for her. It was only a few empty seats away from Coen.

Nicoleus's teacher moved on from the topic of black magic to fire. Nicoleus couldn't quite understand why, but his attention once again went back to the door.

Sho-Shonojo 10-28-2008 12:25 AM

Coen was surprised when the teacher seated Andre not too far from where he was seated. With a lose of what he should say, Coen casually leaned over and asked, "So, do you dye it?" Realizing that his question might be taken the wrong way, he pointed at his dyed black tips, "Because if you can do that with magic, I'd really like to know."

Queen Haythia Mlerkrad 10-28-2008 12:49 AM

Andre looked over to the boy who had spoken to her. At first she was about to look at him, in a very disgusted way. But when he explained what he meant, she smiled.
"Yeah, I dye it. But I use magic to keep it in. I'll see if I can give you the notes tomorrow." She said, knowing that she wouldn't be able to talk to him anytime else then in class. But maybe the principle would let her stay out for the recess time between dinner and bedtime.

Nicoleus looked to the clock, if Andre was coming to his class, she would have been here. So Nicoleus turned his attention completely back to the class.

((I guess we can both play Andre. That way we can work her to how we each would like? If thats works for you I'll write up a profile for her....))

Sho-Shonojo 10-28-2008 12:54 AM

Coen smiled, more out of relief that she hadn't gotten mad at him, then because of her offer, "Thanks," He managed to say, "I'll look forward to that," At that point the teacher began the lesson and Coen was forced to pretend to pay attention. He couldn't help glancing back at the girl. Aside from the ominous way her eyes glowed and the conditions in which she had come, she seemed like any other girl.

(Sounds good to me.)
