Cain looked at Alastor curiously before shrugging and placing his arm next to his side. "Your loss." He said his face still holding the crooked smile. "Need help?" He asked, the whisper of an illusion pushing at the edges of Alastor's consciousness. "I could make it worse or better though so it'd be a gamble for you." From the look on Cain's face he had obviously not been satisfied with the illusion's he had cast on Tira. It had been awhile since he had heard someone scream from true mental pain and he ached for it as if someone elses pain made up for his own pain caused by his deranged mind.

"Hell no, man! You're like a ticking time bomb. The moment you help me is when I get killed just because I let my guard down. So thanks but no thanks." Alastor said.

As Hanastasha talked, Alexandr had preoccupied herself with fidgiting with her dress. However at the mention of her being the envoy of star's, she choked on the air she had gasped in and immediently dropped the cloth. "What?" She asked, the only sign of her previous surprise showing through in the coughs that came afterwards as she gasped for air. "Since when?"
Lillian stared up at the double doors that was the entrance into the base. Her ever acute senses told her that others had come before her and were already inside though who they were she was unaware of. Smirking, Lily pulled the doors open before walking in to look for them. It felt almost like she was walking into a dream. It had been awhile since she had stepped into this place and yet the welcoming darkness told her it was still exactly the same. "My Lord?" Lily called out as she walked down the hall towards the other's. "Which one are you?" |
Hanastasha looked into Alexandr's eyes and sighed, "Look I may have all the answers but explaining it is impossible if one does not accept fate and destiny. Destiny and coincidence, you know there's a fine line between them. As for fate, it's just like being guide through signs. Everything happens for a reason. If you ask too many questions you won't be able to find the answers that you truely want to hear." Hanastasha said as she spoke wisely. "Now wouldn't you like you know how came to possess such power instead of asking if you or if you're not an Envoy that I speak of?" Hanastasha said with a smile.
As Alastor regained his lost arm, he noticed that another Remnant came. "Oh, it's you Lily. Master Agito is in a bad mood right now, so uh, be careful otherwise something bad might happen to you." Alastor said seriously. |
Though Alexandr did not understand much about what Hanastasha said, she swallowed and nodded. "To know how...? She repeated, averting her eyes from the Goddess. It was strange how those words implanted a very small seed of hope. Perhaps if the Goddess was able to explain how she got these power's, ALex could understand some of her past that for awhile now escaped her. "Tell me everything you can then." She muttured, turning her emotionless eyes back towards Hanastasha and the other's, deciding even if the Goddess couldnt help her reach some kind of understanding she may as well listen.
Lillian stopped at the sound of Alastor's voice. "Something bad could happen to me?" She asked, flipping her hair over her shoulder and looking down at Alastor and Cain. "I wouldnt worry about that, now where is he?" Lily said, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Now what, did you mess with him while he was in this bad mood?" She asked, her yellow eyes narrowing to lock on ALastor's arm. While it matched the rest of his body, the arm seemed to be off as if it hadnt been there before. |
"Very well then I shall speak of your birthright. Your grandmother, she was once a great Envoy. Claire Valentine was your grandmother's name, I created her during a time of need. She and her nine friends whom she had grown to be with like family had protected this planet and its people. Your grandmother was given a very special gift, I give that gift to her for protection and aid. That gift was the power of the stars, Claire used that power of predict the past, present, and future by talking to the stars. But that wasn't the only thing she could do with that gift, she could also make stars fall down to the planet, heal the wounded with the moon's light, or even scorch others with sun's flames. Claire was a very gifted girl that I adored like a mother would do for her child. Claire passed her gift to her daughter and her daughter passed that gift to you. That's right, your birth mother gave that power to you. The moment you were born the power was then transferred to you." Hanastasha said. "That is why I said before you are the Envoy of the Stars. The power doesn't just choose you, it is more like mother gives her gift to protect her child."
Alastor looked at his arm, "Oh it's a bit disfigured, damn I guess I'll have to fix it." Alastor said. "Anyways I didn't piss him off, Master Agito was pissed that the other Remnants besides me and Cain didn't appear the moment he called. Anyways stop looking at my arm, I lost my real one because it got hacked off by that damn Regulas." Alastor said in a more angrier tone. "He'll get his for sure, no one messes with Alastor Croney, Number 4 of the Shadow Knights!" Alastor gritted his teeth. |
"That is all great and amazing, but seriously, I'm pretty sure my little tricks didn't come from my family. Anyways, I have no sense of duty to you or this little boy on my back. He may be powerful, but not exactly the sharpest kid I know. If I go with you, I'll probably be killed. My power isn't that powerful anyways unless I can get my hands onto the enemy and crush their skulls..." Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that they were missing a companion.
'At least he escaped this craziness...' Somewhere in forest, a patch of earth cracked as a force tried to escape from its overgrown tomb. Finally, enough of the plant life and soil was loosened so that Jeera could fly out. "I'm FREE~!" After being killed, it was a welcome surprise to be moving again. Even if it meant breathing in a mouthful of dirt after waking. When she finally calmed down, she noticed something spectacular. "Not even a scratch on me. New body... nice~!" Years upon years of decay were gone, leaving her looking the same as she did the day she died. Her silver rings and bangles hadn't even oxidized. But before she could begin making mischief, she felt a slight tug. Resisting the call was no use, though she tried, and to her displeasure, her wings carried her to a greater power and away from her favorite target cities. When she arrived, the doors of the base were already opened. Taking a quick peek inside, she saw that she was greatly overpowered. Every piece of common sense in her body urged her to run away, but yet again the pull was too strong and pulled her in. 'I'm starting to feel like some pet dog...' Dragging her feet, she entered the foreign hall to meet people who were probably her superiors. Their attention however was mainly focused on the lady in front of her, so she tried to sneak to a corner and hide. One of the beings was angry at something, and she didn't want to be in his way. |
If Alexandr hadnt set her mouth in such a firm frown her jaw would have dropped when she was told she could also use the suns power (something she had never thought to try before.) The news that it was because of her mother she was like this wasnt that surprising, it was something she had always figured or hoped to be true. ALmost like a final gift from the woman she couldnt remember. But it was surprising to hear that her Grandmother had been the original Envoy. So how was it then that her mother got the power? Was it transferred with each new life or did something have to 'happen' to the previous carrier for the other to recieve it? In other words, did her mom have to die for Alexandr to be born?
Alexandr sucked in a breath of fresh air as if with it she was able to expel the thought from her mind and glanced at Tira. At least she was able to deny everything so easily. Alex couldnt say that her power's werent strong since she had trained with them every night for years now. As for not fighting, that was something else she just could not do. The thought of torturing teenager's years for now when they have to learn who she was had a strange appeal to her. "What about your sense of duty to your superior's? Alexandr asked, a grim look on her face as she stood in front of Tira. "I would think you would want to help rather than risk the anger of not just this city but the other aristocrat's for failing to protect the Daughter of the ever rising Baron Schneider." It was after all only a matter of time until a new title would fall on her father. He had made so many bold moves when he was younger that a few of them were finally paying off in his favor. "What if something should happen to me on the journey?" She asked not even bothering to feign innocence and fear. "I could slip up and in my pain describe you to other's claiming that you were supposed to protect me but fled at the last minute." Lillian let out a loud laugh that could have shaken the walls if she just had a deeper voice. "Thats it? Your great threat?" She asked when she controlled her laughter enough to speak and sense the presence of another Remnant nearby. "If I was there Regulas wouldnt have stood a chance." She said, fingering a strand of her brown hair before turning back around. "I guess I should announce myself to Master Agito then. You!" She barked, fingers snapping in the direction of Jeera. "You'll walk in first, come on." |
Alastor looked at Lily, "Who said I was threating you? I know I didn't." Alastor said. "Besides why are you speaking so high and mighty, little miss low number. Anyways Regulas seems to have gotten stronger due to his hatred towards our kind, also you know as well as I do that there are limitations to copying the Envoy's powers after all, Master Agito tried to create clones of them but the power was too intense that they blew up and died. Lily, you know you can't copy all of them, I mean sure you can copy the Envoy of Mana, Stars, Nature, Alchemy, Chakra, and Aura without any difficulties, but the fact remains when you tried to imitate the Envoy of the Void, Chaos, and Death, you could barely even move or attack, moreover when you tried to copy the Envoy of Ether, you fail even miserably and died." Alastor said seriously. Whenever Alastor spoke seriously his words were more truthful, "Anyways, it would be the same as trying to copy the Shadow Knights who are higher than your number like me or Cain. Our abilities can't be controlled as easily as you might think." Alastor looked at Jeera, "Oh, hello Jeera, awake I see eh?" Alastor said with a smile, "Well good morning."
Rion woke up a little, "Put me down....Envoy of Aura." Rion said with a strain. Rion looked at Hanastasha and Alexandr, "Hanastasha, Regulas....he did it again, didn't he?" Rion said. "Yes, he did." Hanastasha spoke. "Are you okay?" Hanastasha asked. "Yes, but barely. Regulas is still too powerful, I need to get stronger so that I can control the power of the void." Rion said. |
"Why am I even here? You guys can do more destructive stuff than I can." But she skipped to walk in front of the frightening lady.
"What type of good morning is this? I didn't even get my first prank of the day..." "Fine m'lady. I will accompany you. Not for your sake, mind you. Just so that m'lady stays unharmed and uncorrupted by your incompetence..." The last few comments were directed at Rion. "And you are staying on my back until we get you treated. Goddess knows what trouble you'll cause before I collar you. And don't call me an Envoy of Aura. Count me more of a body guard... With a few special talents." Nic popped up to glare at Rion. He did not enjoy sharing shoulder space. But instead of getting in trouble, he climbed onto Rion's head. |
"Well, Master's order are absolute so, uhm, it's a good thing you did came otherwise, he'll get worse." Alastor said.
Hanastasha looked at Tira closely, "Hmm....you say don't call you the Envoy of Aura but in reality you know that your powers are different than any other correct? I think that you haven't even awakened your full extent of that power do you want me to unlock it, do you want me to unlock the power to see the aura in everything, if you are able to see it then you may believe that it exists within you. Aura exists in everything, just as Mana exists in everything as well." Hanastasha said. "...." Rion's cloak turned into wings again, Rion flew off from Tira and Nic. Rion landed safely on the ground. "I don't take orders from you. Anyways my wounds are healing but it's slow." Rion sat down and sighed. "I never expected the Dark Resonance to attack so soon. What was worse was that both Cain and Alastor appeared. Agito must be serious this time." Rion said. "Anyways Envoy of Aura, I did warn you didn't I? I told you except your fate or be killed by them. No matter what, the Envoys will all be targeted by the Dark Resonance, I was mainly targeted by Alastor because I was infected by the parasitic gene. Being infected means being a slave to the darkness. Some of the Remnants have grudges on the Envoys that killed them like Alastor. Others like Cain, they just don't care and they'll attack you for their own pleasure and desires." Rion looked up at the sky. Rion noticed that it was reaching the moment of twilight, when the sun sets and the moon rises. "It's beautiful....I can see the stars shining brightly." Rion said with a smile. |
"What ever you say... So after me I guess..." Jeera opened the doors and entered to her 'masters' chambers. She felt somewhat reassured by the powerful woman behind her, but then again, who would go through the trouble of resurrecting a creature, then destroy it?
"I'm quite satisfied with the way I am." The truth was that she knew that aura was there, and if she actually made an effort, could see it. But she wanted the others to underestimate her. Having an ace or two up a sleeve never hurt. Hiding dragons, aura and other secrets under her skin was a second nature. It was hard to open her shell just a bit to accept anything, particularly items that did not go in accordance with her plans. "And I'm still alive, so far, so good with not accepting what you have told me. But I'm mainly a artisan, not religious zealot or some uneducated bum that you can convince with a bit of information and a unexplainable talent, considering I have a talent as well." She took out one of her own daggers and started to sharpen and change its edge with her bare, glowing fingertips. "Trust me, when they come, I'll be well and ready to face them head on." |
Alastor pulled Jeera away from the chamber with his powers. "Are you crazy?! Even if Master Agito doesn't have a body, he can still kill us, you know?" Alastor said with a sigh. "Just be lucky I saved you from him. Anyways I'll just tell you what he told me and Cain, Master Agito said that we must find 12 Artifacts. He says he'll need them to return his body. However what these artifacts look like is unknown to me, the last and only person who has ever seen them was a priestess named Saya. You know I think she still exists, but she's been moving around so much that we probably can't find her." Alastor said with a sigh.
Hanastasha went back inside Rion's necklace, "Hmm...." Rion unzip his couch and started to grab something from inside the pouch. Rion pulled out an alchemy pot from his couch. Considering the size of the alchemy pot, it was odd that such a big pot could fit in the pouch. "Envoy of the Stars, Alexandr was your name wasn't it? Tell me do you like the stars? What do you think of them? If you are willing to fight, what would you fight for? Envoy of Aura, Tira....what is your desire? Why do you exist, and for such a purpose how far are you willing to exist?" Rion said as his bracelet on his left hand glowed. |
"Well, I'm kinda new to all this, so fill me in on the the whole rankings and respect stuff later, but first, Artifacts. I'm sorry if this is really obvious, but have you really tried? A damn old lady can't be THAT hard to find. I'm sure we could find her eventually." she sat down on the floor and rested her head on her palms.
Tira flinched. He used her real name... not her alias. 'Darn him...' "You could say I desire to find balance and normalcy, however abnormal that may be. But I might exist to be servile, unfortunately. And every good servant serves to the death." She didn't like where this conversation was going, but why not answer with truths? |
"Uhm, I don't think she's an old lady, well considering she's an elf....I can't complain. Anyways the person who screwed up my arm has two artifacts that I was going to take from him but I got hurt in the end. My body is still asleep after being dead for so long." Alastor said.
"Are you surprised that I know your real name? Don't be, I heard Hanastasha say it, when I was knocked out." Rion said. "I'm not saying you don't have a choice, but I'm just saying help this planet, save Terra, save the world everyone lives in." Rion looked at Tira, "May I see your daggers, please?" Rion asked. |
Cain laughed, joining Teera on the floor but instead of sitting, crouched, and traced random patterns on the ground. "So find a tracker." He muttured, his eyes intent and focused on whatever it was he was drawing with his finger. "Have Lily copy them and set her on the trail of Saya." He grinned then, lifting his finger up and pointing it at Alastor. "Then pervert can woo her and I could make him look like her dream guy." Cain added, his lips pulled up to where one side looked like it was grinning. "Or I could just play with her until she spills it." Regulas's strength did not matter to him as it did to Alastor. After all Cain really wasnt the strongest person out there. His power's were really all he needed, the rest of his abilities were 'just in case' type things.
Shion grumbled some curse word as he dug around in his pockets for enough change to finish off his bill. It wasnt that he didnt have enough money, he just didnt like carrying change and if he had to break a bill it would become change. "Here, this should cover him too." He finally said, slamming the coins with a little more force then necessary before nodding in Fayne's direction. "Come see me when you feel like testing your strength, I always like a good fight." He said with a laugh before turning to walk out the door. "Damn..." Shion mumbled as he stepped outside and realized that the other's were still in the exact same spot he had left them. Only now they seemed to have their attention focused on the boy and some stupid clay pot he held. It was rather strange that the boy was even recovered enough to stand but he even seemed able to move about and talk to the girls. One, the noble, seemed actually interested in whatever he was talking about but the fake dragonian looked like she wished to be anywhere else. Ha, served her right for her cold replies to him earlier in the bar. |
"Cain, if it wasn't for the fact that you are more of an extreme masochist and that you're stronger than me, I'd so get you for that comment. But whatever, it's not like you're that annoying compared to a certain Envoy I hate." Alastor said as he growled, "Man, I almost had that stupid Envoy of Death. I swear the things I'll do to him when I see that bastard." Alastor said with a growl.

Now the grin on Cain's face matched on both sides as he looked up at Alastor. "And if you werent such good entertainment Id have finished you a long time ago so we're even." He said as his abnormally long fingers twitched where he had left them hanging in the air, almost as if he was seeing something that wasnt there. " But almost isnt good enough Im afraid." He mumbled with a small laugh at the thought of himself being afraid. "What, did he take one of your doll's?" He asked before standing back up only to leave his knees and back still slightly bent.

Alastor looked at Cain, "No, he didn't take one of my dolls, he destroyed one of them. Well....that Envoy wasn't really the same guy who did it, but his grandfather did, you should be piss like I am because I'm sure the Envoy of Death killed you too. Still I can't believe he destroyed Elizabeth....my precious Elizabeth....she was one of my strongest dolls. I'm still surprised that my other dolls Marcy and Alicia aren't destroyed but Elizabeth was irreplacable." Alastor said in sorrow.

"Ah Yes, Elizabeth How could I forget?" he asked in mock horror though the grin remained on his face. "Poor dear, it was before her time." He muttured shaking his head as another illusion began to creep on the edges of everyone's consciousness. "Angry? Im thrilled!" Cain said with a loud laugh that could almost be interpreted as a cackle. "I expected much worse, if that was death I can handle it." He said, his grin stretching high up onto his cheek bones. "I really shouldve thanked him, hmm all well maybe next time now that I know to watch my back."

Alastor looked at Cain oddly. "You-you really have no feelings for your own existence do you? Man, sometimes you really do freak me out." Alastor said.

Jeera snickered at the little fight.
"Cain, you're clever and taunting... I like your style." She grinned before shooting up to the ceiling and starting to pace upside-down. "So, if we have a plan, why not go bug the elves and get your arti-things and get done?" Tira looked down at him and gave him a warning glare before spinning her daggers in her hands. "Try anything funny, and I will hurt you." Her daggers were one of the best things she had created before. Perfectly balanced and shaped for her hands. Cost her quite a lot in making them too. But she gave them to Rion, keeping a careful eye on him and especially her daggers. But she was momentarily distracted by a movement near the bar. Shion was there, in all his arrogance. She gave him a slight snarl before turning her attention once more to Rion. 'I have a hard enough time keeping my eye on one kid... Can't always be watching everything else.' |
"Hmm, these blades are beautiful and sharp. These daggers are made of good quality materials." Rion said as he looked at the daggers. "Have you ever tried synthesizing your weapons? By synthesizing an object, it becomes harder and stronger, sometimes during synthesis the object will change and take a different form. But only in certain conditions will a weapon change. Synthesis is the basis form of forging and alchemy, it's a complicated art, I'm still just Novice Synthesizer but the things I make are well-made and strong. How about it? Would you like to try synthesizing?" Rion said as he handed the daggers back to Tira.
"Well you can try finding them, those elves are hard to find." Alastor said. "I need to rest for a day to recover and fix this arm right." Alastor checked his arm. |
Lily huffed impatiently at Alastor. really, he had just told her everything she already knew, he didnt need to inform her what her power could and could not do. Shaking her head she turned her yellow eyes onto Cain and felt her lip curl up in disgust for a brief second. "Ive already learned to track from the best." She said, dropping the piece of hair that she had been messing with earlier. Needless to say she felt angry that she couldnt see Agito and even more angry that it seemed only Alastor had. But as it turned out she knew he was right, if Agito was angry he would take his rage out on them and besides, at the moment Lily did want to get his body back more then anything. "Just point me in the direction she was last seen Alastor and Ill find the stupid elf with or without you."
Alexandr nodded at Tira, a small smile playing at the corner of her lips. She had just blackmailed someone and it had worked! She really could be a good politician. "You'll be a great bodygaurd Im sure." She said, resisting to roll her eyes at the sight of the ferret. Alexandr got quiet then as Rion started warning them about the parasitic gene and the two Remnants that they had seen. She had heard about both of them from her studies however she was limited in knowledge about their power's. She would probably have to find her history book before they leave. A blank look crossed Alexandr's face then as she searched her room mentally, trying to figure out where the book was. She was only pulled back to consciousnessat the mention of the star's and the sight of Rion's alchemy pot. "Why do those question's matter?" She asked as if suddenly afraid about what Rion was planing on doing with the pot. Does she like the stars? What kind of silly question was that? of course she loved those flaming balls of light. They were alway's like beacon's to her and were the very first things she could remember seeing back on that lone country road years ago. As for what she was fighting for, that was a difficult question and something she couldnt answer. Sure she could say 'For her parents' but that was only a little true. What was she fighting for? |
"Try the stupid forests, elves love hiding there." Alastor said.
Rion looked at Alexandr, "They don't, it's just a question. You don't need to answer it if you don't want to." Rion said to Alexandr. |
