"That's a shame. Took one man to die before my whole universe was an obsession of death."

His father. Once Arthur Sondheim had drifted out of his mortal coil it shocked Elliott into desperation. Five years old and he feared the reaper. Five years old when he should have been out playing with the other kids he was crying himself to sleep about how he was going to die. No matter how many times his brother told him not to think about it, no matter how many times his mother reassured him that the world after this was better he couldn't breathe. He was cold and shivering, the freezing hand of the grim one on his shoulder, grinning behind him taking over his life. It took him ten years before he took hold of his life completely. He could only survive beyond the call of death, not the one around now but his personal worries, with distractions that were so all encompassing that he could do nothing but enjoy them. He lived that way until one shady move that would have gotten him to a doctorate of his favorite subject killed him. Down on the upside. Die like you live. In fear.

He heard the wording and confusion flickered through his mind. Something was definatly wrong with Landon, even if he denied it. First there was the funny scent, then there was the slightly different way he spoke. It was different because the grammar wasn't perfect.
"Actually no, they're a hell of a lot louder than me. You remember don't you? That time the pack came down to celebrate one of us turning twenty one? Caused a huge riot from the noise." He chuckled from the memory, remembering he had taken refuge after the first five minutes of their 'celebrating' in the music shop. Lyden had his suspicions now, he just needed a little more proof for them and he'd be able to act.

Xander walked through the forest. She had smelt something that made her mouth water but she didn't feel like hunting. She didn't want to eat anymore. But whats more is the forest seemed frightened. The spirits were upset. She tilted her head as she continued to listen to the trees and the forest around her. What could have bothered them so much? She shook her head, hands digging into her pockets to keep warm. "This is insane. What could bother the elementals?" She said staring up at the sky in contempt.

He rubbed his head. He was definitely going to cut away everything he could. he had no headache, but something said there should be. He had to figure a place for this. He searched the memories deeper to assure his place here and decided on a phrase to proceed on,

"I think I could use an alternative."

He found that Landon was an annoying character to act as. He wished he had a script before this so he could have a rehearsal or two. But now was the time. So what could you do?

Starla had been the singer of an old garage-band Landon had been in.
Back then, (read: three years ago) life had a different sound.
A memory of the raven-haired girl singing at their first performance plows through the shallow sadness that was Landon.
"Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, life goes on brah, la la la la life goes on. Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, life goes on brah, la la la la life goes on." There, he can just picture watching he sway as she sang, the female voice contrasting with the original male vocals.
"Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da, Landon. Life will always go on. Just be sure to flow with it, okay?" She would say.
"Yeah, okay." He'd always reply, looking into her pale grey eyes.

He was back to his neutral state, seeing the world through soft grey glass.
More than anything, a crazy wish to whistle courses through him.
But one needs lips to whistle.
