Metamorphose Inn >> 1x1 between Dark Angel15 & MORBiDUS

| Metamorphose Inn |

Metamorphose Inn is a large standing building, extending to great lengths, yet not very well known despite its size. It's hidden away in lush forests - the trees surrounding the large dimensions of its land always frosted in a constant snow, forever frozen in picture perfect beauty.

The inn, even with its lack of popularity, will always hold a place in the memory of the guests. This is, perhaps, because of two of its most outstanding qualities. The first, and maybe even the most important one, is that once you've entered Metamorphose, you'll never leave -- not that you would want to. Many guests have lived full, long lives there. To add to this, the staff, who may choose to also never age with the building, will never die, so long as they remain staff there.

The second, which will surely be something to remember, is what the name of the inn depicts; the tavern changes constantly. It's walls may move around, or rooms that you had never seen before may appear. Even items can come to life. It's as if the inn itself was alive, and its doubted that even the oldest of staff know all of the building's secrets.

------
This is a one x one RP between Dark Angel 15 and MORBiDUS. Please do not disrupt it.
------

MORBiDUS's PROFILE

Name: Niflheim (Niflh)
Gender: Male
Race: Dream eater - minor demon
Appearance: Niflh
Position at Metamorphose: Staff; key holder
Bio: Niflh, already being a creature of a long lifespan, has long since forgotten his time before joining Metamorphose Inn. Naturally, like any under gifted demon, he took up his position in staff out of greed, wanting to snatch up the opportunity of what was more or less immortality. Niflh, as the key holder, has a key to every room in the house; if he could find them all, that is. He also assigns rooms to any guests. He keeps the room keys at one of the front desks, and a skeleton key as well as a few miscellaneous ones on a ring that never leaves his side. Because of his position at the inn, and the longevity of his stay, he has a fairly extensive knowledge of which door leads where... if the building isn't playing too many tricks, anyways.

Although most of the older staff are aware of Niflh being the key holder, he likes to lounge around the inn as if he was just a guest or visitor.

Other: Niflh, instead of thriving off regular food (despite that he does still eat and enjoy it), consumes people's dreams. He can choose to 'eat' either bad dreams or good ones, leaving the person with the opposite of whichever he 'eats.' If he takes both, they lose their memory of the past 24 hours, give or take. He usually thrives off guest's subconscious at Metamorphose for substance.

((That's completely understandable. Take as long as you need, anyway, even when you aren't busy~ I suppose I'll write my intro in my spare time, though. ))

A low jingle echoed down a narrow hallway, the noise only being swallowed once by the sound of wood shifting in the background. The jingle belonged to a large collection of keys clicking together, and the keys belonged to the demon Niflh.

"Hey! Niflh! This guest wants a room change," A girl chimed in, reaching her arm up in a long wave. The demon, walking up behind a long, oak desk near the inn's entrance set his key ring down heavily. It put a end to the jingle, save maybe if you counted the last noise they made as they hit the counter.

"Well, tell them to come over here," Niflh responded, seemingly impatient. "Cheerful as always," The girl said, a smile plastered so widely on her face it was a wonder it didn't get stuck that way. She pointed the guest in the demon's direction. In actuality, the devil wasn't so much of a grump on a regular basis as the girl might have implied. Yet, he seemed a bit resentful of when he actually had to work.

The guest began to attempt to request a new room in the inn, yet as he stuttered out his situation, Niflh cut him off. "Whats wrong with the room y'eve got?"

"W-well, you see," The man started, apparently not very good with words. "It's got this problem. With fish.. Oh the fish!" It looked almost as if the poor soul had gotten no sleep for the week, as if whatever was wrong with his room had been causing him a bad case of insomnia. Eventually the guest was at such a loss of words for his own predicament he couldn't even continue.

With a bit of a sigh, Niflh butted in again, "Show me the room.."
It probably would have been much easier if the demon had just agreed to switching the man's room, but he wanted to see what sort of fun the inn had been having with their guest.

The man had some trouble leading Niflh to his room as when they'd been trying to get up the staircase, it moved right from under their feet. Yet, going on, the two managed to enter the room, with a bit of persistence. The man fumbled in his pocket for his key, and by the time he'd gotten it out Niflh had already opened the door with one of his own.

"Oh, wow," The demon remarked, looking around. From the ceiling to the floor it was like a waterless aquarium, large goldfish swimming this way and that in the air. Niflh shook his head, and then, just laughed. He turned back from the room and picked off a key from his chain, trading it to the man for the one to the fish filled room. "That one should suit you," The devil said, still laughing lightly.

The man muttered what must have been some form of gratitude, wandering off to find his new room. Niflh made his way back downstairs, heading for one of the cafes in the building. "That's Metamorphose for you," The devil remarked.

{Profile TIME!!!!!}

Name: Seneth
Gender: Male
Race: Arch demon
Position of Metamorphose Inn: Bartender/restraunt manager
Bio: Seneth has never loved his history.. or his heritage. He calls himself a demon though he isn't full... and he's the kindest "demon" one would meet. No one, without knowledge would even know he was evil. He's constantly smiling, and quite energetic. Though he does have quite an evil side if you push him.. at all.
Appearance: Seneth
Other: Seneth would usually feed off of human sins, however he survives fairly well on whiskey and petty sins.. nothing major. By eating sins he kills the holder, since not a single human cannot live without commiting sin. He is constantly in the company of a small creature who has been dubed the name Ubel.
Ubel

{Well thank you... i enjoy him as well.. and I'm sorry about a small bio.. but that's who I am... You'll find out more as time passes...}

Seneth stood behind his bar, mixing more drinks, his hands a blurr as guests shouted out new random creations. Each quests had their eyes locked on Seneth's hands as a small creature was picking it's way though pockets and purses. Seneth's eyes were clearly following the creature... shiftin gbetween it and the door.

The chairs and walls moved around the room, the walls shifted, moving in ward, than out. As if the room its self was breathing. The floor would randomly flood, than start growing life, only to heat and kill off everything that had grown.

{Didn't quite know whatelse to say...}

((Don't sweat it! It's all good~))

Niflh entered the bar with slight curiosity, it was not his regular place to be. He stepped through the crowd to the front of the counter to get a better look, eager to see what all the commotion was about. He seemed a lot less interested in the rooms' shiftings or the other distractions going on inside them, feeling particularly drawn to the display the bartender was putting on.

One of the waitresses took a stand beside him, apparently also interested in the show. She stopped to look away for a second, however, remembering to do her job. "Niflh," She said, trying to speak loudly over the commotion, as well as catch his attention. "We need a new key, for room-" Before the waitress could finish her sentence, the correct key for the job was shoved into her face. Niflh had given it to her without changing his gaze, his eyes glued to exactly what all the guests were watching. Unlike the guests, though, the demon was having none of his possessions stolen by the creature in the background.

As the waitress was walking off, Niflh grabbed her arm, and pulled her close so that he might ask his question out of earshot of anyone else. "The guy mixing, what's his name?" The demon asked, nearly hissing as he whispered - out of habit. The waitress just laughed lightly, "That's Seneth. He's the restaurant manager... You'd think someone like you would know the rest of the staff better."

As the bartender's drink mixing came to a momentary pause, Niflh threw a key into one of his cups. The crowd settled down for a slight second at this interruption, before shouting out more suggestions. The demon just grinned, a wide, sharp toothed grin.

Creature

His eyes glanced at the key, for no more than a second, his hands continuing to move, between mixing drinks and passing them to their rightful owners. The creature bypassed Niflh heading strait to it's owner. Seneth smiled down at the creature as it dumped it's belongings into a bowl under the counter before reaching for the key which he grabbed and eyed as he sat on his master's shoulder.

By some mysterious hint or message Seneth stopped, all the drinks requested were infront of their owners and Seneth went to clean. Clean and dirty cups flew threw the air, some of the guests watched however it was nothing like his tricks before. Still captivating, yet not as much. The creature sat on Seneth's shoulder, surveying the world around him.

Niflh raised an eyebrow at the creature, which he'd previously noted to be pillaging through guests' things. He laughed a bit inside as he assumed it was the bartender's pet, interested in the clever display he'd put on to distract the guests as it snatched their things. Of course, Niflh had no care or moral that their guests' items were being stolen; as long as it was not his possessions, he couldn't be less concerned.

"A good show," the demon commented. He was speaking to Seneth but staring up at the creature as he spoke. Niflh took a quick step to the side as the ground beneath him morphed into a cavernous hole, more or less used to the inn's trickery he was able to get out of the way of falling in. At that, though, the demon had to walk away and get back to work, for he could see one of the other staff motioning at him to leave from the door. It seemed more busy for the devil as of late, as more guests than usual were appearing at the inn's door, requiring a room.

The creature had only stred at Niflh, holding carefully in his hands the key which he had picked up. He griped it tighter and tighter, apparently fearing the key itsself would be ripped out of his hands, returning once again to its own master.

Seneth never looked at Niflh, only nodded when Niflh had commented on his little trick. The creature moved from Seneth's left shoulder to his right and back again, still clutching the key in his hands. Seneth hadn't noticed the hole forming, he never did, thanks to his pet he need not be afraid. Ubel warned him, in his own little way, when something was changing that might concern Seneth.

"Where is my room!" A voice roared, the man which it belonged to smashing his fist against the counter, almost making the entire room shake. The inn didn't seem to like this, but made no change in its structure which might hinder the burly man. The demanding guest was large, tall and hugely built, his hair was long and his beard not much shorter. The female staff that was dealing with him seemed quite concerned, perhaps even for her own safety.

"Right here!" Another staff member said, as she led Niflh to the front where they were. She seemed a bit less intimidated, and more aggravated and impatient towards their guest if anything. The demon looked the man up and down, and then took a key off his ring. "This room will do you good," he smirked. The man just scoffed and pushed another guest that'd been lounging around out of his way as he stomped up stairs to find his newly appointed room, apparently wanting no one to show him.

As the man was walking the stairs dissembled from under him, the Metamorphose now getting its revenge on the guest. A wail of surprised could be heard from the guest as he fell. "If he ever finds that room, t'was small, anyhow," Niflh said, planned to cramp the heavy man in.

Niflh trailed his hand along the counter before moving on himself, going through a door which had just appeared in the wall due to a shift in the inn. The door lead to a library which was of gigantic proportions, stuffed with book after book. Some of the books were already set out and opened on tables, pages flipping on their own, as if they were even reading themselves.

He went through another door from the library and fell from the ceiling into a rather cluttered storage room. When Niflh looked back up the ceiling door was gone. The inn was puzzling, sometimes, and the devil wasn't even sure where he was going at the moment. A few more twists and turns, unknown doorways and dead ends and the demon had managed to find his way to the front again. The little adventure was amusing, and getting lost in Metamorphose was always a good time waster.

Niflh slowly made his way back to where he had previously been before his job interrupted him - the bar. He paid less mind to the creature and the bartender this time, taking a seat at an already occupied table. He called to one of the waitresses and requested whiskey, and she went off to the bar to ask for some and get it for him. The guest Niflh had sat across from looked at him oddly, considering there had been many empty tables the devil could have occupied instead of sitting there.

"You been here long?" The guest asked, sipping on his own drink. Niflh smiled, resting his chin on his hand and propping his elbow up on the table top. "Longer than you'd imagine," The devil replied. There was an awkward silence for a second, before the waitress came back with a half full apothecary glass bottle, setting it on the table for Niflh, along with a shot glass.

The guest he was sitting with raised a curious eyebrow. "If I ask for whiskey I get a glass. You're finding yourself sitting there with that grin on your mug, and you get an entire bottle?"

Niflh just laughed, "I'm lucky, m'dear"

In actuality it was really only because Niflh was staff, and would have been displeased with anything else. He gulped back a shot, and then offered the guest some. Despite that the guy he was sitting with had previously seemed displeased that he'd gotten such a small amount in comparison to Niflh, he denied the offer.

Seneth just smiled, cleaning his bar. He nodded to a few waitresses, and to Niflh when he entered. Once everything was cleaned Seneth slowly, to make sure not to get lost in this strange inn which he had called home for the longest amount of time, made his way down a flight of stairs to his own brewery and cellar. He knew what they were running low on, and what would soon be demanded. Whiskey. And rum... other tan that though they were farily well stocked.

Seneth grabbed four bottles, Ubel two others and they headed up the stairs again into the dimly lit bar. Just as he predicted, as soon as they reached the surface, a few men called out for whiskey... though more called for rum.

"I'm Vasyl," The man across from him introduced. "Niflheim," the devil returned, smiling.

"So I head this rumor, y'know, that the staff here live forever," Vasyl said in a hushed whisper, shifting his eyes, as if it were something to be suspicious of. "You said you've been here long, do you think that rubbish is true?" He continued.

Niflh laughed, he knew it was true. "Only if you believe you can never leave," the demon said, whispering back, and then got up, taking his whiskey with him. Vasyl raised an eyebrow as he left, thinking the response over - he'd never quite tried to leave Metamorphose, and never quite understood why. Now that he thought he couldn't, he wanted to try.

Niflh made his way over to the bar, bottle still in hand, and set it down on the counter, leaning over it. "Seneth," he said, pausing in between his words to see if the bartender had heard him, "when do you get a break?"

"Whenever I feel like it... Ubel here'll take over..." Seneth replied in a harsh growl... He almost never took a break, never needed to..sure Ubel was trained in the art of serving.. not like Seneth though... no one was as good as Seneth.. and Ubel tended to break things, or steal them... quite often actually.

"Why?" He asked turning to face Niflh. "Why is it my break schedule matters to you exactly?" He asked specifying his actual question....

Niflh, now acting disinterested, took a swig of his whiskey. "Simply curious," The devil explained, waving his hand in a small circle in the air, as if to say it didn't matter. He took a seat on a stool in front of the counter, resting his chin on his hand.

"You never care to wander the inn?" Niflh asked. "I've got keys, we can't get stuck," He promised, trying to make the idea sound more appealing. The demon shook his key ring, listening to the sound of the metal keys clack together, as if for emphasis. Niflh took his job a lot less seriously than Seneth took his, he could tell.

"I see.. and what would be in the inn that is so curious?" Seneth asked turning away. He had never actually wanted to join the Metamorphose team.. and he never wanted to leave his bar. He was safe here. He didn't need anything more than his drinks and Ubel. Ubel was just like him, never wanting to be here.. unable to leave.

The devil grinned, widely. The bar might have been Seneth's place but his terrain laid in the depths of the inn's randomness itself. "Everything," Niflh said, putting emphasis on the word, making it seem bold, permanent, important.

"If you stick to your bar how will you ever know if you don't like the rest of the inn better?" The demon asked, sipping at his whiskey bottle. The taste of it burned in his throat mildly, yet it was refreshing in a way the devil just couldn't place.

"Mm, if you don't want to come, I will just have to sit here."

"And why would you be sitting here?" He stated throwing another glace onto the shelves lightly. "Aren't there guest whom need attending to?" He continued with his questions as Ubel eased off his shoulder. Ubel moved slowly, stagering back and forth, as if drunk. He walked, or wobbled, towards Niflh often stopping to sniff, or cock his head to a side. "Ubel! Don't bother the guests. You know better!" The rat creature scurried back to Seneth's shoulder, still watching Niflh with curiosity.

"I don't quite care for the guests," Niflh muttered, scraping the top of his teeth with his tongue. He eyed Seneth's pet carefully as it came closer, and then laughed at it when Seneth scolded it.

"Why don't you find me a new shot glass little rat?" The devil requested, folding his hands under him. He'd left his old one at the table he'd previously been sitting at. Niflh considered Ubel 'little,' as the monstrous things that could be found in some of the cellars were, in comparison to the creature, gigantic in size.

"Have you yet considered leaving with me, hmm?" The demon questioned.

"I'm not.... and don't order Ubel.. it'll do you no god. Unless he favors you, he will comp..." Seneth trailed off as Ubel jumped off his shoulder and climbed up the wall to the shot glasses. "Well what ya know?" He asked to himself as Ubel went picking though a few glasses before grabbing one and crawling down the wall. "Now Ubel.. which one is that... Oi.. that's my favorite..." Ubel just nodded and handed the glass to Niflh with a wink before rushing back up Seneth's arm.

Niflh couldn't help but smirk, "Ehh.. What was what you were saying?"
He leaned over the counter to give Ubel a better look, and smiled at the creature for his assistance.

The devil sat back, filling up the shot glass, the liquid that'd been its contents disappearing down his throat as fast as it'd poured in. The demon had a higher tolerance than most humans to the drink, and although he was feeling a bit tipsy, he didn't show it.

"You aren't afraid to leave your bar, are you, Seneth?" Niflh asked, raising an eyebrow to the thought.

"How boring.." Niflh scoffed, taping his finger tips lightly against the counter top. "You'll never know what you'll find. Surely you can't be satisfied with this," The devil said, putting emphasis on the word 'this,' and spreading his arms out to show he was referring to the bar.

"You can keep any of the rooms you like," The demon said, hoping Seneth would consider the bribe.

"No one keeps anything in Metanorphose..." Seneth argued back. "But if you're pratically begging me for company you must be quite desperate. Alright. When?" He asked setting down his towel... He walked around the bar, "Ubel take care of any requests.. mental or verbal." The rodent nodded and lept onto the countertop.

Niflh nodded, knowing that what Seneth had said was true, no one actually kept anything. Yet, to him, if you could find the room, and you had the key, it was yours. The devil's lips curled into yet another grin as Seneth finally agreed, and got up off his bar stool.

"Right..." Niflh stopped partway through his sentence to lean over, pull a pocket watch out of someone else's pocket, and check the time. "...Now," He finished, as the house shifted, just on time. A narrow door appeared in the floor, barely noticeable, and it wouldn't wait for long.

With the amount of free time Niflh had on his hands, he'd spend some of it charting out certain changes in the house - however, with no real pattern to go off of, he was often mistaken in his studies. At least he'd been accurate this time.

The devil opened the small door, dropping down onto the first stair it held under it, and waited for Seneth. He left his whiskey bottle above him up on the bar's floor, feeling no need to bring it along. If you were to look further down the doorway, after a small drop down were the stairs, which seemed only to spiral downwards, and the demon knew, if the house made the same change it had once before, there'd be a short maze at the end of it.
