"Goodnight, Zevi."

Blind eyes blinked and the long strands of brown hair lifted in a sift of wind through the window's screen. Zevi turned towards the direction of his mother's voice.
"Goodnight." The door closed again and he returned to the window, inhaling the forest air that came softly from the trees in their whispering lullabies. The moon shone down bathing the woods in pale light.

And in this light, Zevi gained his sight again. Yue, Luna, Tsuki; by all names, the Moon gifted him vision again under the curtain of her own gaze. How could he expect to sleep on this night? Too excited. And the evening was so lovely. No longer could these four walls contain him. He pushed the screen out of the window frame and jumped out, dashing off into the cold, green womb of Mother Earth.

Lee glared at Gabriel for the unspoken challenge and raced on.The four ran for miles enjoying the glow of the golden moon. All dancing around happily while they ran, the moon playing songs in their hearts.

They had run for weeks, months searching for their new home for the pack unsuccessfully. Lee being the leader, was in front with Gabriel right behind, who were best friends and the two really in control of the pack. Vivian was next with a soft pant in her breath, trying to keep up, with Jasper (the youngest) following last but never loosing sight of everyone else.

Lee watched the others follow behind as he continued to race on. In a sudden, swift movement he slowed down his step and sat down. The others followed suit and sat around him. He was unable to smile at them in the shape he was in but he looked at everyone of them and then the moon. It was then that he rose his head and sung to it, with all his heart, for the joy it had brought them.

Others sung as well and to Lee it was a masterpiece of music.

So they all sung to the moon, wagging their tales all the while.

Zevi stopped, startled by the howling in the darkness. This melody...it was unfamiliar and recognizable at the same time. These were the cries of his own kind. These howl were the moon moans of no one in his clan, though. The boy's thin body trembled and then it crouched, curling into itself. His pale skin turned to pale fur, long and and shaggy. And when he lifted his head again, Zevi's eyes were dark pink and soft.

He sat back on hind legs and let out a howl of his own. This was no moon moan, however. This was deliberately a warning, a message of claimed territory, through the voice of the pack. It commanded with a roar's rip at the finish of it. So Zevi sprung forward, off to where the other howls had come from to enforce his claim.

The singing stopped the moment a new voice was heard in the distance. Lee stood while the others looked at the direction of the new voice. Growls escaped Lee and Gabriel as Gabriel soon joined Lee standing right behind him, protecting Vivian and Jasper. Lee looked intently at the direction the new smell that was arriving was at and crouched down in a fighting stance.

Soon Gabriel and Vivian were also in a fighting stance. Jasper was the only one who didn't look about ready to attack. It was the first other wolf he would meet in many years and was curious on the new arrival. Jasper looked at Lee with a pleading look not to fight.

Lee took one look as Jasper and growled again, not to interfere as they waiting for the new comer. Jasper whimpered a bit and the growl and stepped back, out of sight.

Zevi rushed on, dodging the underbrush as he bolted through the woods. The smell became stronger, clearer as he approached. Four, three male one female. All of them unfamiliar. Zevi heard the faintness of growls flanking him on either side. Tala scampered around fifty meters behind him, Syaoran at his left along with Ulric and at his right was Seath. Zevi whined softly, ordering them to stay hidden

And then he burst through the seam of the trees out into the small clearing. He stared at the four of them, standing fully upright, seemingly unchalanged and unafraid of opposition. His cloud-white coat gleamed in the silver moonlight, red eyes staring down through the gaze of Yue to see these outsiders. A few seconds of standing and he padded his right paw on the ground twice. It was a sign among his own kind to phase back into human form. He cocked his head to ask if they understood.

Lee looked at the newcomer and his pack and looked at his own. He lowered his eyes on them and stood in front as he slowly began to change. He looked back at the leader of their other pack. His change sounded more painful then it should as the sound of his bones were popping and cracking every second. The black wolf that he was, with his golden eyes melted together into his human form, only a pair of ripped jeans was all that he wore.

The others of his pack didn't change and only stayed behind him, still in their fighting stance.

Lee, still looking at the leader of the other pack, spoke to him while the other started to change.

"What is your business with us? There is no claim on any land as the moon shines its fullest." Lee said matter of factly.

Zevi sighed a bit and then began to practically melt backwards, returning to his human state once again. When the moonlight hit his pure, white eyes, their irises seemed red and sightful. Compared to this other leader, Zevi was rather short and thin. But that was only an outward appearance on a human level.

"Perhaps it is that way where you come from," he retorted, "but we have lived here for countless generations. This land is ours. I am sorry but you'll have to find somewhere else." His long, brown ponytail waved in the soft, night wind as the glow in his eyes sparkled.

Lee made a soft chuckle at the leaders request. Covering his mouth to attempt to hide his smile he walks over to the leader. There is no fear in his eyes, only laughter. He stands there for a while and looks back as his pack asking an unknown question. His pack soon turns from the ready to attack wolves to humans in moments.

Gabriel was the first to be finished with his transformation and stood to the left of Lee 2 feet away. He also wear ripped jeans but with a black tank with rips around his chest. He had Long dirty blond and smiled along with Lee, not trying to hide it.

Vivian and Jasper finished changing about about the same instant. Vivian looked smug at the pack as she stands there with twisted hair of red and bright green eyes. She stands there beside Jasper as she watches Lee speak.

Jasper is the only one who doesn't seem cocky about the whole situation, he stands there, looking no older then15, and sighs.

Lee turns back to the pack leader and looks directly into his eyes. His smile still remains as he leans his head slightly to look into his eyes.

"Whats your name, pup?"

(sorry if I made your character seem alittle short, you mentioned height difference so I tried to use it, if you dont want me to do that, I can change it.. . . . )

((No, that's fine, but watch your tense change ^_^))

Zevi pressed his lips together and sighed a bit. Always treated as the runt. Wasn't his fault his genetics made his human form particularly scrawny looking.
"I'll not answer to such an insult as that," Zevi said plainly. "You can give me yours and I'll do the like, or you can leave and this conflict is over."

He made no flinch under the taller glare of this other. Staring right back at him with those bright red eyes. His hands hung loosely, not at all standing as if he were threatened. Bare feet stood firmly planted in a regal and comfortable stance. His skin was soft in the moonlight.

(sorry about the tense change. . . I'm trying!!! lol)

Lee looked at the leader and raised his left hand to his pack behind him. Not caring to turn toward them, he began introducing them and himself.

" My name is Lee. . ." Lee cocked his head to his side with a smirk at the leader and continued on.

"Behind me is my right hand man, Gabriel. Behind him is our female, Vivian. Jasper stands beside her, hes the pup" Vivian blew a kiss at the pack when her name was spoken but no one else moved.

After the introduction he moved his hand to his side, which was still up in the air, over to the leader. He brushed his hand over the leaders arm and lowered it to his side again.

"I think its polite if you tell us your name next pup" After Lee asked his name Gabriel took a step forward. Interrupting before the leader had even time to speak he stood right next to Lee.

"Leader. . ." He said looking at the leader in front of Lee.

"Do never tell our pack when to leave. We leave and come as we please. It is the way of the moon, not the wolf." He said in a stern face.

Zevi watched each of them and made no movements at all until they all had apparently finished speaking. Then he sighed, almost exasperated and shook his head. He folded his arms over his chest and lifted his head just a tilt before speaking.

"This is Tala." A tall, blonde-haired female came leaping out of the woods, standing behind Zevi with fire in her blue eyes. "Syaoran." A waify looking boy with unkempt locks skulked out next to the woman and glared, amber eyes ferocious. "Saeth." The trees rustled and another figure seemed to fall out of the sky, standing up from his crouch to reveal a tall, well-muscled body, cropped brown hair and a mocking, black sneer. "And my Second, Ulric."

A red-haired man with a white forelock strolled casually out of the forests, eyes wandering as he tied back his mid-length hair. And he took a strong stance at Zevi's right, evil, green eyes ripping into the souls of those he stared at.
"And, as I said," Zevi continued, pride intact, "I will not answer to such insult. You may consider any command you give unheard for your insolence and disrespect." True, he was possibly the smallest one amongst them all, but this was merely a human shell of his enormous soul.

A cloud hovered over the moon. And for a moment, Zevi's eyes went white, the world becoming hidden to him. Ulric put a firm hand on his shoulder, keeping his purpose focused ahead as to not draw conspicuous attention.

Lee looked at the leader with a cracked smile, at his refusal to tell him his name and was about to snap when he noticed a changed in the leader for a moment. He couldn't tell at how fast the change was which was different for him and calmed himself down. Gabriel, at this point, was growling lowly at the pup and knelt down at him in a warning stance.

Lee moved his hand over Gabriel's chest and for the first time turned his back to the pup. For the first time making Lee's scars visible. Deep gashes were across his shoulder blades and a bullet hole wound in the middle of his back. Gabriel followed suit to Lee leaving and turned with him. Vivian and Jasper were the only ones to keep staring forward at the pack as Lee and Gabriel walked past them.

"We stay until we feel the moon is asking us to leave. When the day comes when the moon asks us to leave, nothing you can say or do will stop us." Lee said knowing it would confuse the foreign pack. Lee stopped about a foot away from Vivian and Jasper and turned his head at the leader. He looked into his eyes for one second before he sprinted out of the view of the new pack, with his pack following close behind.

Lee looked behind him seeing if the other pack was following. I could always use another racing partner he thought to himself and he began to change. The group began to get into step of what they were doing before, dancing to the glow of the moonlight as they smelled the air for the other pack.

Zevi waited. He listened. And he didn't gain his sight back by the time they all took off running again.
"What a very rude group of people," he muttered, shaking his head.

"Zevi," Tala said in a strong inflection, "should we follow them?"
"No, no, that would be pointless," he told her. "I have no problem with leaving them alone for now. As long as they don't stir up any trouble here, letting them stay for a while won't be a problem." The moon glowed down again and Zevi relished the soft glow of vision once more. "Let's go home."

On foot, human-limbed, he ran back into the trees, hearing the rest of his friends' feet follow. Of course, he'd have to tell all of the others now. This small pack would be no threat, if that was their extent. A group of four against a clan of fifty growing? There was no contest. Plus...these wolves were wild. What advantage did savages have on bred domesticates?

The pack ran till morning, with the sun rising the wolves grew tired. They put all their hearts to the dance and now that the moon was gone there was nothing to dance for. They laid down right were they had danced and began to ready for the day.

Jasper slept curled up around Vivian as Gabriel laid alone. Lee one the only one awake by noon as he sat in an upright position. He thought about the woods, about the moon, how last night seemed to glow more then usual. And how the pup seemed to change for only a moment. Lee was flustered by what he think he saw or smelled but he knew something had happened, and he wanted to find out. He stood on his fours for only a moment deciding if he should smell out the leader, then decided on better.

He raced away from his pack smelling the air. He had to find out how many in this pack was here other then just the pup.

Zevi was awakened the next morning by the sound of Syaoran knocking on his window. He sat up and rubbed his eyes, walking over to the glass and opening it again. "Yes?"

"Just thought I'd wake you up. I'm going with Saeth and taking the kids down to the rivers today. Tala and Ulric are sticking around town to keep watch, you know?"

"Thanks, Syao. Be careful." Zevi smiled softly, his white eyes staring off somehwere into the heavens.
"You too, Zev." The wind whipped and Zevi felt Syaoran run off to join the others.

Quickly, he dressed himself and departed, leaving his window open. He didn't run now. Blinded, he felt his way through the forest he'd grown up in slowly, without faulting once. But, perhaps, now it would've been better to have an escort. What with these others running about and probably out for his blood, Zevi had no desire to be tripped up by an outsider.

But he just sighed and continued on carefully. The wind tossed his hair about, playing with it now that it was out of its ponytail. And Zevi smiled. The soft bitterness of the winter nipped at his bare toes and the tips of his fingers. And he sang the tribe's lullaby, letting it float on the breezes.

Lee roamed the edge of the city smelling around for the different scents in the air. It seemed that this was a full pack he thought to himself. He continued to run in the shadows, moving as fast as he could to avoid his scent to linger in the air. He didn't expect to be spotting much running but he knew that with the number of wolves that lived in this city it would be hard to not stay unnoticed and began to head back to his small but proud pack.

It was when he had started to head toward the direction of his pack that he noticed a small field trip of wolves going to the rivers, his pack passed by while dancing the night before. The rivers was close to where his pack were and sprinted ahead, keeping far enough away to hopefully he was not heard.

He arrived in only minutes and looked at his pack. He pat his paws on the broken leaves and their eyes were opened in seconds. Gabriel stood at once and walked over to Lee. It seemed that they were communicating with their eyes as they moved away from their temporary den. As they walked away Jasper slacked behind getting farther and farther away from his group. He was curious about this new pack and he wanted to learn more. He ran from the group without a thought and ran to the rivers where he could smell their scent heading.

Jasper made it to the river and sat down hidden by the trees away from the river. He soon laid his head over his brown paws and Looked out with brown eyes. Not knowing that Lee noticed only after moments that Jasper had run off and was racing to get him as soon as possible.

Zevi breathed deeply of the air around him, pulling in all smells. The cold dirt underneath his feet, the musk of the cedar trees, the crisp scent of the river some miles away. And then that pack. He smelled them too, mixed oddly with the familiar scents of his own clan. Zevi sighed. True, it was a bit unnerving to have this group of unfamiliars on his land, but Zevi continnued to be at ease of mind. For one blind, he was very trusting of others.

He felt his foot crush touch something foreign, so he stopped and stooped down, his hands gently feeling at what he almost crushed. it was a wildflower, trying its very best to bloom beautifully. Zevi ran a careful finger over the bud and smiled. He muttered a soft praise for the plant and then marked the spot in his cognitive map so he'd be careful the next time. Then, once more, he stood up and continued on his way.

Lee was following Jasper as fast as his paws would let him as he knew he was halfway there. He was so concentrating on running and smelling the air he missed the leader standing, in human form, right in front of him and collided with him. He raced right into the pups human gut and send both of them flying.

Lee got to his feet at once and then moved his paw over his head and brushed off of him the leaves from the ground. It was then that he looked over at the pup and sighed.



Jasper sat at his spot till the pack came into view and wanted to smile. Only his tail could wag at the gester in his wolf form and continued to watch.

And then foreign sounds hit Zevi's ears and his head snapped forward. Though it did him no good since he couldn't see much, the sounds and the scent told him quite clearly that the outsider pack's leader, this Lee. And, sadly, he moved the wrong way, letting the wolf collide right into him. It hurt.

Zevi was thrown backwards and he hit the ground, groaning. Then he sighed, sitting up and pulling leaves from his long, brown hair he spoke, "Are you sersiouly so oblivious that you can't even see where you're running?"

Lee looked down at the pup and snarled at the comment and stood still for a moment to calm himself. He took another look at the pup and noticed something he should have noticed the night before. The pup was blind, and not just somewhat blind, but as blind as they come. His eyes were as white as clean, just from the sky snow. He sniffed the air again and sighed.

"Do not mock me pup." He said straight forward. He then looked down and tilted his head to his side.

"What are you doing out here all alone pup?" He asked from pure curiosity. What would a blind, lead, wolf do out alone? This triggered his interest as he lost sight of what he was originally running for.

Zevi pressed his lips together as he got to his feet again, deciding to ignore the man's insults.
"I was walking," he said bluntly, as if it weren't obvious enough. "I was thinking of heading to the waterfall and sitting there for a while. What are you in such a hurry for? I'm sure you're not planning to leave yet, not after all of that argument you put up yesterday."

Zevi folded his arms over his chest and glared in the direction Lee's voice had come from.
"Why don't you just go back to what you were doing and I'll attend to my own business and we won't even have to call this meeting a reality?" He turned and started walking away, avoiding every tree with his strides.
