Jason stepped out of the white van and stared at the familiar two-story house in front of him from behind his black-rimmed glasses. "Have fun while we're away!!" He heard his mother call out to him from inside the car. Jason just waved at them carelessly as she and his father drove off down the road. He sighed.

'This is still all to sudden.' He thought as he began to remember what his parents had told him last week. They were professors at the nearby university and were both invited to go study the marine life in Austrailia for 18 months. The two said yes on the spot and were quite excited when they told Jason. He, being the responsible one of the family, asked where he would stay. His parents said that they would figure something out.

Eventually, Jason's parents got him to live with his best friend. He thought about her and blushed a bit. 'I really hate those two...' He thought as he scratched his head. He sighed again and walked up to the front door. He rang the doorbell and waited patiently for a reply.

Adrina had been waiting all morning for Jason to get there. She had been thinking of all the things they could do while his parents were gone. Honestly she was still trying to get over the fact that his parents would just leave him like that and go to a different country for that long.

Adrina was making breakfast when she heard the door, smiling to herself she set down her spactula and headed to the front door. "Hey!" She beamed as she opened it to see Jason standing there. Adrina yawned and stretched a little she had to stay up to clean out the guest room.

"Are you hungry?" She asked as soon as he was inside the house. Adrina had made enough breakfast for the two of them.

Jason nodded and walked in, trying to push away the thought that Adrina looked like a house-wife. He followed her into the kitchen when he noticed something amiss.

"Um... where are your parents Adrina?" He asked slowly.

"You know them always going somewhere. They're on a plane to some place I forgot but we don't have to let anyone know." She smiled looking around. "So let's go eat breakfast is ready." Adrina said leading him to the kitchen.

Jason just stared at her retreating form. "You didn't make breakfast yet?!" He yelled with a joking grin. He really did only feel relaxed when he was with her. He followed her inside the kitchen.

"Jason you need a hearing aid. Can't you smell it." She smiled grabbing to plates out of the cabinet. "Help yourself." She smiled starting to put some home made pancakes on her plate.

"How does hearing help you smell?" Jason asked as he sat down. He started digging into his pancakes. Adrina's food was always the best. After he finished his first plate, he looked back at his friend. "So, where am I staying?" He asked. That's when he realized that he was going to be alone with Adrina... in a house.... for months. He almost choked.

"I had said that it was ready silly." She smiled before starting on her plate and then she thought and swallowed the food that had been in her mouth. "In the room next to me it is ready." Adrina smiled.

"Oh, okay..." Jason said as he stood up, "I'll just put my stuff in that room then." Not even waiting for Adrina's response, Jason ran out of the kitchen, up the stairs, and into the extra bedroom. '... Do you hate me God?' He wondered as his face turned a deep red. Once more, the shock of being in a house, alone, with Adrina, for months, was getting to him. 'Why won't she notice how weird this is?!' He yelled mentally.

Adrina wondered why he was acting so strange. She got the dishes and cleaned up. After she was done she went upstairs to find him, she knocked on the door gently. "Is there something wrong?" She asked.

Jason jumped a foot in the air when he heard the knock on the door. "Um no nothing's wrong!!" He yelled back as he quickly threw his bag on the bed. He opened the door and put on his bed. "So, what's on the agenda for today Adrina?" He asked curiously.

Adrina shrugged. "I'm not sure, I figured we could just do what we normally did. I'm not sure what though." She said smiling and looking around. "What did you want to do?"

"Hm.... I could beat you at some video games." Jason suggested with a smug grin.

Adrina shot him a grin back and then raised her eyebrow. "Are you sure about that?" She asked already heading towards the living room.

Jason followed her quickly. "I'm positive. Care to put a wager in if one of us loses?" He asked. Oh how he loved to gamble...

Adrina laughed and shook her head. "What kind of wager?" She asked looking over at him with a smile.

"The same old 'whoever loses has to be the winner's slave' wager." Jason replied, keeping his smug smirk on.
