The jumped slightly when Dannyl's voice came from so close behind him. He didnt' jump from fear of Dannyl though, it just startled him as he did not hear the man coming up and he deffinately did not expect it. He slowly turned to face the man, but Dannyl was already walking away. Slyth watched him for a few moments before his eyes lowered to stare at the ground, the way he was walking... I shouldn't have yelled at him... Slyth thought with a sigh. The man seemed so sad. But dispite that, Slyth still felt anger towards the man. Anger he hoped would leave, he didn't want to be mad. He really didn't. But he couldn't help it.
Slyth waited another few moments before he crawled his way over to the bowl and sat beside it. He picked it up and stared at it. It certainly did smell good. But the thoughts about it being poison to normal animals still ran though his head. He shook those away, afterall, he now knew he wasn't a normal animal. So, He would try some.
He had to think about how humans ate regularily though, they used the little silver things. So, Slyth looked at the one in the bowl, he had never even held one before. So, after a good deal of staring at it, as if the thing would move on its own, Slyth tried to grab it in his hooved hands. The first attempt; Failed. He frowned and tried again. Second attempt; Failed. "How do you use these things?" He asked himself as he tried again, he got a hold of it, but when he tried to bring out some of the stew, he dropped it back into the bowl.
The cows came over, and moo'd to him, trying to give him advice on how to hold the thing propperly, though they had never used one either so they weren't of much help. So, eventually, Slyth gave up on the spoon and started to 'drink' the stew.
He only took a little bit into his mouth before moving the bowl away. "Its so gooooood." He said with a bit of a wiggle in his body before he started to 'drinking' it again.

Dannyl walked rather slowly back to his home, hoping that Slyth would call him back, maybe ask him why or what happened or something, anything. But nothing came. And he got back to his cabin without a word from him. He sighed, resting a hand on his door, before pushing it open.

Putting the lid on the pot, he removed it from the fire and put it aside. There was probably two or three days worth of food in there still if he reheated it. He finished sanding down the planks, then stained them and leaned them against the wall to dry over night.

Still no Slyth.

He sighed again. It was getting late now, so he gathered his blanket, undressed and climbed into bed. He doubted that Slyth would be returning tonight so it was safe for him to use the bed. He couldn't really sleep, at least not for any long period of time.

Tegian 01-28-2009 11:11 AM

Slyth had soon finnished the stew that dannyl had brought for him. When it was gone, he even licked the bowl clean before putting the bowl aside. He turned back to the cows that had come out to comfort him, one was sleeping, another couple were simply laying down and the rest were eating. Slyth smiled, they were so cute.
After watching the cows for a few minutes, Slyth crawled back over to them and sat with the sleeping one. He patted the cow slowly on the back before the others came back over. All but the sleeping cow shrunk down to their original sizes and returned to his body.
A couple hours later,Slyth nuzzled cow to wake it up gently before he pulled himself up with his crutch. The cow got up with him and the two headed back. Afterall, now that it was pitch black Slyth getting rather spooked. He would ussually spend his nights in a well closed off area, not out in the open like he was.
Once he got back to the building, he stopped, still outside. He assumed Dannyl was sleeping and figured he wouldn't want slyth in there tonight. Esspecially not after how mad he got. So, Slyth went over to the wood pile and layed down beside. His back against the wall of the building. The cow laid itself down close enough to Slyth so the young cowdemon could use her as a pillow. It only took him a few minutes to allow himself to fall asleep. The cow, she would stay awake and watch for wild animals, so she could warn him and he could get to safety.

emeraldeye 01-28-2009 01:15 PM

Dannyl slept off and on, but at one point during the night, he didn't know when, he became aware of someone nearby, and he suspected it to be Slyth. He felt a bubble of hope form in his stomach. Maybe, just maybe, he didn't hate him as much as he had thought. Then he realised he was staying outside and winter was approaching. It was warm in here, he didn't really need the blanket since the fire had warmed the cabin nicely. But he couldn't ask Slyth to come in, if he had wanted to do that he would have done it already.

Getting up and pulling his pants on, he took the blanket and opened the door. Instantly goose flesh spread over his body but he was used to the cold and barely noticed. Moving around to the side where the firewood was piled he found Slyth sitting there asleep; he couldn't see the small cow from where he was. He paused slightly, a small smile on his face. He came back. And he looked so cute like that.

Approaching quietly, Dannyl knelt down before him and placed the blanket around him over his shoulders. It wouldn't keep him snug and warm, but it would be much warmer than without it since it was a good quality wool blanket. He paused again but then turned and went back inside to lay on the bed without a blanket. He wasn't likely to go back to sleep any time soon so he settled himself in for a rather sleepless night, wondering what the morning would bring.

Tegian 01-29-2009 12:41 AM

When Dannyl approached Slyth, the cow looked upt at him, its little eyes glowing gently in the dark. It watched in silence as the man came over and put the blanket over Slyth, a smile would have come to the cows mouth if it could. She thought about making the man take poor slyth into the building, it was so cold out here, even with the blanket for a bit of warmth. But as she was part of Slyth, she knew he would not be happy with that. So, She watched him leave in silence before returning back to her watchfull state.
Some time later, Slyth awoke from being quite uncomfortable. He didn't even realize he had a blanket atop him untill he rolled over to his other side. He picked it up a bit and looked at it. Dannyl must have brought it out for him. He vaguely wondered how long ago Dannyl had gave him the blanket. But the thought died out when he fell asleep once more, the blanket snuggled up over his head.

[o___o slyth would be a good spy with those cows of his xD]

emeraldeye 01-29-2009 11:24 AM

Dannyl slept fitfully and woke at dawn as was his habit cool, unused to not having the blanket for warmth, but relieved. Alright so Slyth hadn't come inside to sleep with him like he had hoped but he had come back. Getting up, he stretched and stood. Taking his jacket from the small cupboard he put it on, wincing a little as it brushed the bite mark on his forearm.

Going over to the fireplace, he poked the fire back to life and added another log. He would have to get another couple but he would wait until he knew what Slyth was doing, whether he was willing to come back inside, to talk at least, or whether he had only used the area for shelter and would move on now there was daylight. He also vaguely wondered if he had the bowl and spoon with him. He didn't mind it so much but it would be another thing he would have to make. And it was a good horn bowl and spoon too, not cheap. But if it meant Slyth coming back it was definately worth sacrifacing. He was tempted to go out there, to see if he was alright after spending the night in the cold, but he refused to repeat his mistake and rush things. He would wait for Slyth to come to him. Even if that was forever.

Tegian 01-30-2009 12:43 AM

The sun awoke Slyth at Dawn, its bright rays forcing sleep away from him. That with the fact he was very cold and sore. The little cow looked to him and gave a small little moo before shrinking away and returning to him. Slyth stretched as best he could to get the kinks out of his bones. He didn't know if he should stay and try to talk to Dannyl. Dispite how the man obviously did not want to hurt him, Slyth couldn't help but feel as though he should leave. He still had anger and fear towards Dannyl. Mostly fear by now though, as his body mind had time to figure that the man was a lycan, brother to the one who had destroyed his life. He shook his head, it was to early to think about such things. He would eat himself some food and find his way back to the stream to get fresh water. He would feel awkward drinking Dannyl's water after what happened last night.
So, Slyth pulled himself up to his feet. His leg didn't hurt so much anymore. He could probably go without a crutch by tomorrow. He sighed lightly as he started his way slowly to the stream. He would eat there as well as it seemed like a nice lush sort of place, it probably had some pretty good grass.

When he neared, he noticed the bowl he had meant to take back but had forgotten. He picked it up and took it with him to the stream. He could clean it out while he was there and then he likely wouldn't forget it again.

emeraldeye 01-30-2009 05:36 AM

Dannyl heard Slyth leave and sighed softly, disappointed and annoyed at himself for letting him get his hopes up. He guessed he was just so lonely now that any company, even that of someone who hated him for what he was, a feeling he had only recently begun to get over himself.

Eating some more of the vege stew he took a bucket outside and dipped it into the water barrel and washed his dishes in it before leaving them out to dry. It was a nice but brisk day outside. Going in briefly he took the jacket off and hung it over a chair before carefully unwrapping the bandages around his stomach and forearm, examining the injuries. They looked pretty nasty but, when Dannyl pressed at the flesh at the edges of the scratches, only clear liquid oozed out, no puss, so that was a good sign at least. The forearm was another matter though he did expect that. It had been so clean before, such that he had assumed Slyth had cleaned it for him, but it hadn't been cleaned again since and, being caused b a mouth, and a lycan's one at that, it was full of infection. He sighed again and rewrapped that one. His stomach could stay unbandaged, give it time to breath. He would make up something to put on his arm later but he wasn't in the mood now. Instead he took the slats outside and laid them out in order of where they would be nailed together before going to his cupboard to get a hammer and jar of nails before nailing them all together.

Tegian 01-30-2009 05:55 AM

After spending a good long time down by the stream, and getting himself full up on grass, Slyth got himself up and made way back to Dannyl's house. This time, he made sure he had the bowl and spoon with him so he could return them to the man. He took a few detours on the way back, having followed little things that caught his eye. One being a cute little fuzzy rabit that even came over and allowed him to pet it before it went on its way. That even brought a smile to his face.
After he finally found his way back to Dannyl's house, as he had gotten lost for a little bit, he stayed within the tree's. Dannyl was working on the bed. He watched silently for awhile as he realized the man must not have been mad at all. Esspecially since he looked so sad and he was still making the bed. Slyth didn't know what to do. He was still mad and the fear was creeping in dispite how hard he tried to keep it away by telling himself that Dannyl was his friend. If he wanted to kill me he would have done so already....

emeraldeye 01-30-2009 06:17 AM

Dannyl was aware of Slyth being there but for now he ignored his presence while he tried to work out exactly what he should do. On one hand he thought he could just continue to pretend he didn't know he was there, let him come to him in his own time. But then he might never approach, might convince himself that Dannyl was just like every lycan in his mind was like and would kill him as soon as look at him. He wouldn't but maybe it would be impossible to convince him of that once he made his mind up. On the other hand if he moved too hard too fast he would just frighten him and that was the last thing he wanted. So for now he kept working.

Eventually though, he called out, without looking up, "There's some left over stew inside if you would like some." He didn't know if Slyth had liked or even eaten what he left him last night but thought that at least that would give an opening to some kind of conversation.

Tegian 01-30-2009 06:28 AM

Slyth jumped when Dannyl suddenly spoke, obviously to him as if he knew he was there. The little cow also let out a surprised sound at the same moment. Them, he lost his blanace and fell ass first to the ground with an "Umpf". He simply sat there for a few moments, his hooved hand to his chest as his heart raced from the scare. Soon enough though, he started to giggle and soon the giggling turned to laughing. He let himself fall to his back as he did so which just helped him laugh even more. Surely it wasn't that amusing? But to him it really was.

emeraldeye 01-30-2009 06:52 AM

The corner of Dannyl's mouth twitched slightly when Slyth seemed so startled but he had his back to the boy so that he didn't see his amusement. It was so like him, and adorable. When he started giggling though he paused and turned to look at him, a confused raised eyebrow.

"What's so funny?" he asked curious. "I don't have something on my face or something do I?" he asked, reaching a hand up to his face self-consciously.

Tegian 01-30-2009 07:18 AM

Slyth soon forced his laughter away and sat up, his eyes watering a bit from his laughter. "Oh no. Nothing wrong with you." He said, his voice somewhat higher than normal. He grabbed his crutch and got to his feet, the occational giggle still escaped his chest as he now made his way over to Dannyl. Dispite his fear, he went over, knowing full well the man sincerely was not going to hurt him or harm him in any way. He stopped a few feet away though and lowered his head as his mood seemed to just suddenly shift. "I'm sorry about last night... I shouldn't have gotten mad at you..."

emeraldeye 01-30-2009 07:35 AM

Dannyl's head was cocked to the side when Slyth said it wasn't him that he was laughing at. He watched as he came closer, a little surprised that he was so willing to do so. At the same time he noticed the boy seemed to be moving a lot easier than he had been, as though every movement didn't cause him pain. For that matter he had giggled there on the ground without any appearance of pain. Well that was good news. Surprising, he didn't think he would heal that quick, but since he knew he wasn't all human he guessed it was possible.

He felt his heart swell when he started walking towards him, not showing any fear or hatred. And when he apologised, he broke into a broad grin. "You don't need to apologise. I'm the one who should do that, for being so... blunt. And not realising that it would upset you so much. So I apologise," he said.

Tegian 01-30-2009 07:44 AM

"No." Slyth said as he lift his head and looked up to Dannyl. "It's not your fault your brother did what he did... I had no right to get mad at you over telling me...." He shook his head a bit as he lowered it once more. "I should have handled it better..." He sighed lightly as he started to wring his hands together a bit. "Is it okay if I.. stay here still?" He couldn't bring himself to look up. Afterall, what if Dannyl said no and made him leave? He'd rather not see the look on his face.

emeraldeye 01-30-2009 07:54 AM

Dannyl looked away, a little uncomfortable when Slyth mentioned his brother; they may be siblings but they were far from close. He turned back with a soft, gentle smile on his face when Slyth asked if he could stay. "Of course you can," he said. "I would like that. A lot. I've been rather lonely of late," he admitted, a little embaressed by the fact.

Now that that was sorted, he went back to hammering the bed together. It would be finished by midday, he reckoned. Then he could go on to carving little figurines to trade for some hay for Slyth's mattress. He found he could not stop carving things and, because of that, the little table in his cabin could not be used as a solid drawing table anymore; it had too many pattens and pictures carved into it, beautiful doodles usually of leaves and vines and little creatures peeping out from behind them if you looked hard enough. In some ways it annoyed him, in his mind he tended to ruin perfectly good furniture, but in other ways it kept him busy and gave him something to do normally when he was faced with uncomfortable subjects.

Tegian 01-30-2009 09:59 AM

Slyth watched Dannyl hammer the bed together for a good ten minutes before suddenly, "OH!" He shouted, quite loudly, before 'running' to the building and dissapearing inside. He rummaged around for a few minutes before he came hobbling out holding the almost finnished matress as well as the sewing supplies. "I should work on this while you work on that." He explained as he hobbled back over to dannyl. He plunked himself down heavily before droping everything to the ground and getting himself started.

emeraldeye 01-30-2009 01:14 PM

Dannyl smiled as he worked and said, "Sure," to Slyth continuing his sewing. Probably best anyway; working wood was his talent, not cloth.

He kept working for a while in silence. "You're not afraid of me?" he asked, still nailing away. "Even though, not only am I a lycan but that it was my brother who destroyed your life?" his voice was soft, soft enough that should Slyth decide not to answer he could pretend he hadn't heard it even though Dannyl knew he would hear. If he decided not to answer Dannyl resolved himself not to press him on the matter, or ask any more questions about that kind of thing. But he found himself curious to know what was going through his cute friend's head.

Tegian 01-30-2009 09:41 PM

"I can't help but feel a bit of fear." Slyth said in an almost 'matter of a fact' sort of tone. "But it was your brother who did that.. not you. And if you did wish to kill me you would have done so already..." He sighed out then. He didn't much want to talk about it, but seeing as Dannyl seemed to be really interested in these matters, as he had been asking alot of questions about it as of late, he would just give answers to his questions. Though, he did very much hope that Dannyl would soon change the subject from such depressing matters.

[D: Sorry for the overly lame-o post D:]

emeraldeye 01-30-2009 11:29 PM

Dannyl smiled softly when Slyth said that it was his brother that did those things, not him, clearing him from the guilt associated with it. "I promise that I'll leave whenever the time comes for me to change I'll leave so I'm not tempted to harm you in any way," he said.

It was clear that Slyth didn't really want to talk about it and, really, Dannyl had learnt all he wanted to at the moment.

He kept working on the bed and it was finished by midday. He stood straight and stretched, his back cracking slightly before he winced as his injury pulled too much. Reminded of that he remembered that he should make some poulitice for his infected arm.

"You should have your own bed by tomorrow," he said with a grin, picking up the bed and carrying it inside. He placed it against the wall so it was at a right angle to Dannyl's own, head to head. He then went to a window and plucked a few choice herbs and started mushing them together in a bowl.

Tegian 01-31-2009 12:42 AM

Slyth had finnished the sewing quite awhile before Dannyl, but he remained outside with him and watched the man hammer nails into the wood. While he watched he would munch quietly on grass.
Then, when Dannyl got up and started taking everything inside, Slyth followed, bringing along all the stuff he had taken out earlier. By the look of how he was walking, he almost didn't need the crutch anymore. All Slyth was really using it as was a cane of sorts.
The little cow put everything back to its right place, though he put the empty matress with the bedframe before he wobbled over to Dannyl once again. "What are you doing?" He asked as he sat on his chair to watch Dannyl mush the herbs together.

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 01:52 AM

"The bite on my arm has become infected," he said. "This will kill the infection." And hurt like hell, he thought but he ignored that. Pain was part of the cleansing. Or so it had been drilled into him since he turned. "It will make it clean within a few hours and the infection will be gone after a few hours." He turned with a smile to Slyth. "Don't worry, I'm used to this. It's only minor compared to a few others I got," he said.

He added water and then unwrapped the bandages around his arm, tossing them into the fire. He then pulled out some more clean bandages and soaked them in the mixture.

Tegian 01-31-2009 02:00 AM

Slyths ears lowered a bit as he leaned closer. "I could help with that.. well... not me, but my little friends. They helped you when you got back. They are good at helping fix owies." He smiled and his tail swished happily behind him as he did so. "But, you can do that too if you want. It sounds like it would work just as fast as my friends." His eyes then followed as the old bandages were tossed to the fire. He watched them light and slowly burn before he looked back and saw Dannyl dipping the new bandages in the mixture.

[short D:]

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 02:15 AM

"Your little friends?" Dannyl repeated as he paused in what he was doing. "You mean that little cow?" he asked, remembering the little ones that he had seen when he brought him his dinner last night.

He considered. The thought of little cows crawling inside an open wound did kind of give him the creeps. In the end he shrugged and held out his arm. It was red and inflamed, swollen slightly around the actual wounds and when pressed, yellowey-green puss oozed. Not pretty. "It's bound to be less painful than that stuff, especially since I don't remember you using it... I don't even remember coming back here for that matter," he said with a bit of a self-conscious chuckle.

Tegian 01-31-2009 02:30 AM

"Ah, yes. The little... cows..." He frowned lightly, remembering now that he himself wasn't a cow, that infact it was the tiny little friends of his there were cows. He shook the thought process from his head and concentrated on the very gross looking arm of Dannyl's. A sad look came to his face, he didn't know something coule get so infected after only one day of going without being cleaned. But, He put his hands out and gently put one on Dannyl's arm, just a bit lower than the infected bite.
And, it wasn't visible to the naked eye, but the little cell sized cow scuried from Slyth and made their way to the wounds. Lots and lots of them. As soon as they got there they started in battle against the infection as well as repairing and fixing the damaged cells and tissues. It wouldn't be noticable for awhile that it was helping though.
"There!" Slyth said as he moved his hand away. "Their helping now." He smiled happily and swished his little black and white tuft tail.
