Oops. Open mouth insert foot. Dannyl felt like a fool by calling Slyth's little friends cows and thus upsetting him. Seeing the sad look when he looked at his arm though he forced the guilt away to say instead, a small smile on his face, "Don't look so sad, it would be a lot worse if I hadn't already turned. I would be sick, in agony and near death. This is much better."

He watched his arm as Slyth touch it but couldn't see or feel anything. He was half wondering if this time the 'little friends' were imaginary and toyed with the idea of using his poutice regardless. But then again that would just upset Slyth. He looked up and smiled. "I trust you. Thanks," he said.

Standing he went to the cupboard and pulled out two of the little blocks of wood he had left, one was just one he found, the other was a left over from the chair and put them on the decoratively carved (destroyed in his mind) table as well as his carving knife before sitting down and carving away slithers of wood while trying to come up with something to talk about. All he could think of was things that would make him upset. Deciding even silence was better than that he remained silent, deciding that if Slyth wanted to talk he could come up with something. Afterall he didn't exactly have a good track record with trying to come up with conversation topics.

Tegian 01-31-2009 03:33 AM

Slyth ran his 'fingers' silently over the little decorations in the table while he thought of possible things he could try and talk about. Occationally he'd smile as he noticed a little carved animal hiding amongst the leaves on the table. Eventually, he looked up to Dannyl as a question came to mind, "How long have you been living in this home?" He asked as his hand still traced along a the line of a leaf carved into the table.

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 03:49 AM

Dannyl watched Slyth finger his table as he carved away at the little block of wood, smiling whenever he smiled, taking in the simple pleasures of carving while watching him, loving the little smile that seemed to light up his face whenever he spotted one of the hidden creatures in the table.

"Not that long," he answered. "That was the second turn since coming here so... two months," he said. "Before that... well, life was a bit different," he said. That was when he had still been a part of a clan, not hunted like he was now.

Tegian 01-31-2009 04:12 AM

"Only two months?" Slyth said as his eyes widened slightly and his finger stopped tracing the lines in the table. "You did alot in only two months." He motioned about the room before returning his hand to the table. "Where were you before you came to this home? Oh! And why did you come here? Do you like the forest? Cause I like forests too. Or, or, was it because almost no one really lives in forests? Like... for privacy? " Slyth stopped himself there, he had started to just shoot off questions and was giving Dannyl absolutely no time to answer one before another had come. He smiled lightly as he now gave Dannyl time to answer whichever questions he may have gotten.

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 06:04 AM

Dannyl gave a half shrug and said, "I like to keep busy," in ways of an excuse for the amount of work he had put into the house. "Little else to keep me occupied anymore," he added softly, a little sadly.

His mood changed when Slyth suddenly shot off a ton of questions. "Decided to come up for air?" he teased lightly. "To answer your... multiple questions. Part of the reason I chose here was because of the privacy, and because I like forests. The place where I grew up in... or at least partially, was a large city. The forest is a nice change. As for where I lived before and why I left... " he trailed off slightly, his carving slowing a little. But then, he thought, Slyth had told him at least some of his history, Dannyl at least owed him something. He focused his gaze on his carving as it took on a renewed fury to it. "I don't know what you know about lycan clans but I was a part of a very powerful ones. Lycans, once they have turned, join the clan of their creator. It's part of the reason why restraint is shown to create more rather than just killing and eating. The more lycans and the stronger they are, the more powerful the clan. I was brought into a very powerful one. But I was... driven out. Recently. For refusing to go along with something they wanted me to do." He stopped there, not sure how Slyth would take to this snippit of his history. If he was still curious and asked more questions he would tell more but since he hadn't really liked what little he had heard of his history so far he doubted that would happen.

Tegian 01-31-2009 06:56 AM

Slyth's eyes widened momentarily at the story before he swiftly burried his face into his hands. "Oh! That sounds so scary!!" He said in a very childishly cute voice as he wiggled a bit in his chair. He continued on like that for a few moments before he stopped and peared out from between his hoof fingers. "What about before that. When you were human?" He moved his hands away from his face abruntly and slammed them down to the table excitedly. "Oh! Oh!" He exclaimed, though his face dropped moments later and look of shock came to his eyes. He remained silent for a few seconds before looking down to the table, his eyes still wide. "I forgot!!!"

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 07:29 AM

Dannyl gave a non-committal one-shouldered shrug when Slyth said it sounded scary. It was, but it hardly mattered.

"When I was human?" he repeated. "I... don't remember much. I was bitten." But he was distracted from that when Slyth suddenly banged his hands - hooves? - on the table. Dannyl couldn't help but notice just how adorable he looked then before he pushed the thought from his mind. "Forgot? Forgot what?" he asked, surprised.

Tegian 01-31-2009 07:44 AM

Slyth looked up and stared at him, his big blue eyes still wide. "I forgot what I was going to say! But! I just remembered something I forgot!." He said before he pushed himself up to his feet, grabbed his crutch, and dashed from the building as fast as he could with his leg being how it was. He tripped once, a loud 'Umpf' Was heard but it was obvious that he was not affected as he had simply gotten up again and continued on his way.
He went over to the tree he had been hiding behind when he wandered back that morning. He had to search a bit before he found what he was looking for. He then hurried back to the building, this time managing to stay upright the entire way. Once back inside though. He tripped again, this time because he misplaced where he should have put the crutch and tripped over it. As he fell the bowl and spoon he had retrieved from the forest went flying through the air. "There we go." He said from the floor.

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 09:42 AM

A small smile was on his lips as Slyth went on his forgetfulness became clear. He found it becoming harder and harder to keep a friendly distance between him as he realised he was begining to find Slyth more than healthily attractive.

He watched him leave but hearing him fall he shot up, worried, and glanced out the window. He didn't seem hurt though so he relaxed, leaning his backside against the table to wait. He didn't have to wait long before he came in. And tripped, sending a bowl flying. Dannyl reached out and caught it absently without looking at it, placed it on the table not really caring before hurrying over to Slyth.

"Are you alright?" he said, slipping an arm under him and lifting him slightly.

Tegian 01-31-2009 09:52 AM

Slyth had looked up just in time to see Dannyl absently catch the bowl as if the thing had simply glided to his hand. "Whoa.." He said with wide eyes as Dannyl now came over. He had just started to push himself up when Dannyl gave him some help. "I'm kinda clumsy with that thing." Slyth said refering to the Crutch that had skittered accross the floor. "I'm fine though." He said as he looked up to Dannyl with a broad smile on his white and black face. "I do think I should be more carefull though!" He giggled lightly and shook his head. "Goodthing I won't need it soon... Oh! And.. Is your arm feeling better at all.. it should be feeling at least a bit better by now."

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 10:37 AM

*timeskip*

Several days later their respective wounds were healed or on their way to being healed, Dannyl had finished his carvings, taken them to the market and traded them for some hay and blankets for Slyth. Everything was good, except for the small matter that Dannyl was finding it harder and harder to take his eyes from Slyth.

He was out gathering mushrooms with Slyth in the forest and both were wearing scarves against the cold that they had bought in town. He paused suddenly though, his laughing playful mood vanishing. He stood, leaving the basket on the ground, his eyes roving around the trees, searching for the familiar pressense he could sense.

"Slyth," he called. "Come here." His tone held no-nonsense in it. Something was clearly up and if Dannyl were further along in his transformation cycle his hackles would have been raised.

Tegian 01-31-2009 10:43 AM

Slyth had just grabbed a nice handfull of mushrooms to throw at Dannyl playfully when Dannyl's mood suddenly went from fun and playful to completely serious. He paused for a moment, the mushrooms and grass fell from his hand. He looked to the tree's too though he didn't waste any more time before running over to Dannyl. He clutched the mans clothing tightly as he hid behind him. He didn't know what was going on, but something obviuosly quite serious. "W-what?" He asked in a small shakey voice. He tried to pry his eyes away from the forest and look up at Dannyl, but he couldn't. Something he couldn't see but Dannyl could apparently sense was in there and with it causing Dannyl to react like this, Slyth was terrified.

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 11:32 AM

One of Dannyl's arms move behind him to rest against Slyth, holding him against him. He glanced over his shoulder to where his cabin was but it was too far away to send Slyth back there.

A deep laughter came from over to his left and Dannyl's eyes looked over there. "What is this? A new pet? Do you nibble on him whenever you get hungry?" A voice called, his voice teasing and all too familiar to Dannyl.

"What are you doing here? Get lost!" Dannyl snarled. "You're not welcome here!"

"Aww, now that's no way to treat family," the voice said, though this time a tall man steps out from behind a tree and Dannyl moves forward, placing himself between the man and Slyth. He doubted that Slyth would recognise the man before him since the last they had seen each other he had been in his wolf form. "Afterall," he continued, "it is you who are not welcome on my lands. And these are my lands. Or will be as soon as I've dealt with you. And your pet." He spat the the word pet in disgust.

His head tilted to the side slightly to get a better look at Slyth. "Oooh I remember you," he said before grinning revealing teeth filed to points. "Your brother tasted delicious, best meat I've ever eaten. And your sisters..." he grin widened maliciously. "They were a lot of fun, squeeling as I took their innosense. And you abandoned them." He turned to Dannyl. "Never knew you were one to take cowards as pets."

Tegian 01-31-2009 11:49 AM

Slyth felt a spike of fear shoot up his spine as the voice was heard. He clutched Dannyl's clothes as tightly as he possibly could, as well as unknowingly pinching Dannyl's skin with it. He clentched his eyes shut, as if hoping this was simply a dream and the man was just a figment of his imagination. Though, his eyes shot open agains as the newcomer called Dannyl family. His eyes widened as he looked directly at the man. Is that.. his brother... Slyth asked himself.
Then, the poor cow almost fainted when the man looked directly at him and grinned, showing off those very sharp looking teeth. Tears sprang to his eyes at the words spoken about his family. His poor family. But the sadness was overwhelmed by the fear and anger he also felt, fear being most prominent. He couldn't move a muscle as he felt completely paralyzed. He couldn't even take his eyes of the man who had killed his family, friends, and everyone else he held dear. He struggled desperately to make his muscles work. He wanted to flee, his mind was screaming at him to Run! Run, run, run!
After a few moments, that felt like more than an eternity to Slyth, his body relinquished control to his throat and mouth. "N-no.. I-i-i w-was.." He stuttered and tried to speak, though his words were so quiet it was unlikely that even Dannyl heard them. Tears continued to streak down his face as he clutched Dannyl's shirt with all his might.

emeraldeye 01-31-2009 01:01 PM

"Shh, don't let him goad you," Dannyl whispered softly to Slyth. He knew Slyth was no coward.

He turned back to Narick and said, very forcefully, "Leave. I want nothing to do with you, and you have nothing to do with me anymore."

"That's where you're wrong, dear ungreatful brother. For one, I now see you have something I want, in the form of that little... thing. What are you, anyway? Some kind of human, cow, demon freak?" He shrugged. "It doesn't matter, you'll be food soon. You see, dear, dear Dannyl, since that little freak's brother was so delicious the clan now wants to taste of the same mutant flesh. He's to be kept until the next moon phase. Then feasted upon." He licked his lips then grinned. "I can't wait."

Dannyl snarled. "You wont get that chance!" he snapped. He got the feeling that he was going to be forced to fight, a worrying thought since his brother was probably the one person who could defeat him.

"You know, you're really becoming a nuisance. I'm begining to regret saving your life," Narick said with fake sadness and disappointment in his tone.

"Then you should have let me die!" Dannyl knew though that his brother wasn't all bad since he had never been able to kill Dannyl. That was why he had turned him and why, when he had been one of those to drive him out and had been the one to take him down he had been unable to finish him off. Though he knew he meant what he said about eating Slyth.

"Then I may have to remedy that!" he shouted before charging towards them, drawing a knife that glinted in the winter sunlight.

Dannyl acted quickly and briefly turned his back to Narick. He untangled Slyth's hands from his shirt and pushed him to the ground. "Stay down and when you get a chance, run for the cabin and barricade yourself in," he said hurriedly. "I'll cover you-"

He was cut off when Narick's foot slammed into his back, sending him flying and slamming into a tree before falling onto the ground, winded. Typical of Narick, he thought, playing with his prey rather than using the weapon. Rolling over he saw his brother standing over Slyth, leering down at him. He got up and charged him. He didn't have a weapon but be damned if he was going to let Slyth fall into those hands!

Tegian 01-31-2009 11:44 PM

{Narick o:}

Slyth couldn't do anything other than try and stutter out words that made no sence. but, as he was pushed down to the ground, that seemed to at least knock a little bit of sense into the poor scared little cow. He stared up at Dannyl with wide teary eyes and had just finnished giving a little scared nod when Dannyl had suddenly gone flying into a tree. Slyth let out a frightened scream/moo sort of thing as he was suddenly alone with the large Lycan standing over him.
He tried to back away, but that was fruitless as his arms were to weak to hardly support him in trying to move away accross the ground. Since that was so useless, he would have to do soemthing to defend himself, and only one thing came to mind to do. The man was so close he could likely do it then that would give him the chance to run. So, He rammed the top of his head at the mans groin, aiming to stab the man with his pointly little horns and cause considerable pain.. Hopefully anyways. He didn't know what he would do if that didn't work.

{Cause slyth is just so smart as to go after the groin with pointly little horns xD haha and sorry about hte post being ttly lame o:}

emeraldeye 02-01-2009 12:26 AM

Narick laughed when Slyth tried stab him between the legs and easily dodged and instead swung a leg towards him with enough force to send the small cow-creature flying. It did cause him to be distracted though and he only narrowly dodged Dannyl's punch.

"Run, Slyth!" Dannyl called, a hint of desperation in his voice. He wasn't sure where this was going to go and was worried that it wouldn't end well. But there was no way he would allow Slyth to be taken by his old clan. He knew what horrid fate awaited those who were captured and unlucky enough to survive but with Slyth being unusual it would be all the worse for him since they would endeavour to keep him alive while eating chunks from him. He could not allow that to happen! Not to his sweet and innocent Slyth!

Narick's attention was now entirely on Dannyl as he had hoped it would be and the two of them went all out. For a while Narrick didn't use the knife but after it became clear that Dannyl wasn't going down easily, he swung it. The unexpected move caught him by surprise. He managed to dodge away to avoid serious injury but it left a shallow scratch across his chest. Pain errupted from the tiny wound and Dannyl howled in agony. Silver. It was a silver knife. For a lycan to fight a fellow lycan with silver was abhored; they may be blood-thirsty killers but there was a sense of honour shared by all which included fair fighting and not using silver. Dannyl had to get that knife!

Tegian 02-01-2009 12:46 AM

Pain erupted through slyth's small body as the kick connected to him and sent him flying. Hitting the ground hurt just as much, and pain shuttered through his body. His body instinctively curled in pain and protection. His breath came in and out in chocked spazms as the wind had been completely knocked from his body. It barely even registered to the poor little cow that Dannyl had told him to run. He had just laid there for a few minutes fighting for breath when suddenly Dannyl howled out in agony. That scared Slyth into breathing properly once more and he sat bolt upright dispite the pain. Slyth could not see what had happened to dannyl, but it sounded so horrible. "Dannyl!" Slyth yelled as best as he could in his current state of mind. And at that moment, many, many cows suddenly seemed to just grow from the ground. Mostly for protecting Dannyl from the crazzed man. The cows went over, mooing and huffing angrilly. Some tried to get Dannyl away while others tried to gain Naricks attention and maybe draw him away long enough to get Dannyl and Slyth away.

{O: COWS!}

emeraldeye 02-01-2009 11:03 PM

Dannyl recovered quickly from the slash along his chest and started grappling with his brother, trying to get the knife off him. Narick expected it though and was putting up a fight. Every now and then the blade would make a small nick in his wrist or forearm, making him cry out in pain, but his hold on his brother's wrist, trying to get the knife, was keeping it from causing any serious injury.

Then they were forced apart by... cows. Dannyl blinked a little then, realising where they must have come from, looked over his shoulder to Slyth. He was about yell at him to get away and get inside before he got captured - Dannyl doubted that Narick was the only one in the area and if it looked like he was having the trouble getting the job done they would step in - but then he thought maybe it would be a good idea to break, to reassure Slyth that despite the noise he was making he wasn't hurt, there was no residue on the knife. At least none he was aware of just yet.

While Dannyl let the cows carry him away towards Slyth, Narick was slashing and hacking at the cows, killing as many as he could. Dannyl looked over his shoulder once more to Slyth, worried that such violence on the cows might have an adverse affect on the boy.

Tegian 02-02-2009 12:26 AM

Slyth forced himself up onto his shakey legs as the cow brought Dannyl over to him. "We have to go hide." He said to Dannyl, his eyes wide and still full of tears. "Dont make me hide while you get hurt. I don't want you to get hurt because of me." Slyth was grasping at Dannyl's clothes, as if trying to make the man stay with him. "They'll keep him away and let us hide." Slyth said in regards to the cows that kept continually appearing. "Lets go now."
Meanwhile, the cows that got 'damaged' simply seemed to vanish. They weren't exactly real cows afterall. No blood was spill from them when they took on smaller cuts, and the ones that were wounded enough to cause death in a normal being would just shrink into its original size. And the cows, werent' trying to cause damage to the man, they were just trying to keep narick away from Dannyl and Slyth. Slyth had to make sure not to much were sent out though, as they were a part of him and if to much were away he had no idea what would happen to himself. He's never had to use a lot of his friends like this before.

emeraldeye 02-02-2009 11:22 AM

Dannyl still kept himself between Slyth and Narick even if his brother was preoccupied by trying (and failing for now at least) to get through the cows to them. He shook his head and said, "It's me who drew them here not you. If they had wanted to find you they would have long ago. You're a bonus." He was breathing a little heavily both from the exertion of the fight and the mild pain left lingering where the knife had got him.

He shook his head again when he said to run and hide. "They would find us. It was only a matter of time till they found me. And..." he glanced around. "There are another two watching and waiting, if we run they'll chase." He wasn't sure who they were but thought he could probably take them on in a one-on-one fight, but if they joined up with his brother, they were screwed.

Tegian 02-02-2009 11:41 AM

Slyth didn't want to, he really didn't, but he nodded in agreement to what Dannyl was saying. So, with tears still streaking down his face, Slyth let Dannyl go as he continued on to the house. He ran as fast as his legs could take him and as soon he reached the building he slammed open the door then slammed it shut behind him. He did much the same thing he did when Dannyl was away for that week. He shoved a chair up against the door to give it some extra protection before he went and hid under the bed.
He even covered himeself up with the blanket, as if hoping that woudl help keep him from being found. He had only just finnished hiding himself under the bed when the door busted open. He almost yelped out in surprise but he shoved his hand over his mouth to keep himself quiet. "Come out come out where ever you are" taunted the strange voice of one of Naricks 'friends.' Slyth started to tremble with fear as he pleaded in his head to not be found. But, within moments he was suddenly pulled viciuosly out from under the bed by his hair. He let out terrified mooing/screaming sounds as he struggled to get himself away.
No such luck, the man slammed him against the floor to shut him up, which also knocked him out cold. The lycan laughed at that before slinging the limp body over his shoulder and leaving the building to head back to the clan with this extra prize they had come accross. Meanwhile, at the exact same time Slyth was knocked unconsious, all the cows instantly vanished.

emeraldeye 02-03-2009 12:19 PM

Dannyl relaxed a little when Slyth took his words to heart and ran to the cabin to hide. Now Dannyl could focus on just fighting and not needing to protect someone and keeping an eye to all angles to make sure he wasn't caught. Taking advantage of Narik's distraction with the cows he charged. A scuffle ensued and Dannyl had just gotten control of the knife when Narick pulled another a definately more deadly curved one out.

Dannyl eyed it warily, narrowly dodging an attack before he heard a crash as the door to his house was smashed in. He jumped and glanced over to the house in time to see an unconcious Slyth carried out over the shoulder of a semi-familiar lycan.

"No! Slyth!" he called out, but that distraction nearly cost him his life as Narick lashed out with that viscious curved blade, it's damp silver lodging deep into his chest. The scream that erupted from Dannyl was the worst yet as agony spread out through his chest. A slash to the inside of his leg effectively disabled him and the small lycan party dashed off with Slyth as Dannyl was left lying on the ground, screaming in agony.

Tegian 02-03-2009 10:21 PM

Some hours later, consiousness slowly found its way back to Slyth. He opened his eyes slowly, though it was quite dark where he was. He tried to move but something was bound around his limbs and a pitiful little cry escaped his gagged throat. Pain was still quite present in his head from having it smashed into the ground, but the wound he had sustained had healed itself up. He shifted himself as best he could, in attempts to figure out where he was. When he got himself to his side rather than his stomach, he realized his was in quite the small cage.
Slyth soon started to struggle in his binds, try to get out of them and perhaps free himself from this cage. But the ropes were so tight and he could barely feel his arms and legs because of it. He tried to call for help, dispite knowing he would get no such thing, but the gag in his mouth just made his words jumbled noices.

emeraldeye 02-04-2009 01:07 PM

It was after sunset before Dannyl eventually became more aware of his surroundings when the pain eased at least a little and he stopped writhing around on the ground, slipping in and out of consciousness. There had been some kind of liquid silver on the curved blade that, when it had twice stabbed him, had slipped into his bloodstream and spread around his body, causing agony wherever it went. He would probably be dead by now if it wasn't for the tortures the clan put him through soon after he turned. Narick probably knew that.

"Slyth..." he murmured, rolling over on to his stomach, guilt and desperation clawing at him. He had to get him back, there was no other option, he had to go back to the mansion. Biting his lip so hard it bled slightly in an attempt to control the pain and nausea ravaging his body, Dannyl pulled himself to his feet with the aid of a tree. From there he half-walked half-stumbled towards his old home, to the casual observer appearing maybe extremely drunk or ill, and ill he was, but ill with silver-poisoning.

*

"Will it work?" a female voice audible in the next room to Slyth said.

"Of course it will. I saw the way he looked at it. Disgusting," the word was spat. "He'll come." A male voice.

"He better," the female voice replies. Footsteps can be heard, moving away from the room Slyth is in as she continues walking away. "He's due for his next dose afterall."
