Artemis sat down, and watched Llyud cook. Then once the food was infront of him,he started eatting it.About half way through the meal, Artemis looked at Llyud, and asked."Aren't you going to eat something?I don't want you to get too wrapped up in my illness, which I might add won't go away, and forget about yourself."Artemis said handing a forkful of the meal to Llyud. It's an illness that only effects elves, so Llyud can't get it no matter what they do.
He sighed, and placed the fork back onto the plate."Look, I know you think that this will go away, but it won't, there is no cure.If there was I wouldn't of thrown my medical book, which is totally useless now."Artemis said turning his head, and looking at the large red book. |
Llyud just couldn't take it. He didn't want to hear about it. He didn't want to hear about that there was no cure. And for a moment, Llyud even seemed really angry and upset. And at Artemis at that. But he just didn't want to hear it. For a moment, he was actually considering to just hit Artemis to make him stop saying that. But, that he couldn't do either. So, he just fell onto the bed, on top if Artemis, starting to cry, and he just couldn't stop. He didn't want Artemis to die. Shaking his head a bit as he buried his face into Artemis's chest, sobbing. "This is not how it was supposed to be... We were supposed to be living our lives to the fullest... I don't want to be left alone..." Llyud probably wouldn't be able to survive on his own. He could survive, but he would have no will to live if he was alone. But in the middle of his sorrow, he just came thinking of something. Something he wouldn't tell Artemis about. At least not yet. Not till it was already to late to do something about it. But, he wouldn't do it now, he would wait till Artemis's last moments. He wanted to be there with him the entire time. Even if it was horrible painful to watch him like that. |
Artemis sat up,and hugged Llyud."I know, and I will...and you won't be alone,I'll be here by yourside if not in fleash, and blood but in spirit."He whispered storking Llyud's head."Now tomorrow how about we go out,and play in the hay field again."He said laughing."If you don't want that then you can just sit there, and enjoy the day,I mean we have months until the rains come."Artemis then added sighing. The elf then lifted Llyud's head, and kissed him lightly."Now lighten up,for me, please."He then asked in a voice no higher than a whisper
|
It wasn't easy to try brighten up, even for Artemis. But he would try. But not quite yet. He just couldn't right now. It was far to overwhelming to accept that Artemis was going to die. So for now, Llyud just nodded, snuggling his face against Artemis. He would try to cheer up a bit, tomorrow when they were going outside. Then he would have other things to think about after all. "I will try... But for now, just let me get it out, or I will probably break into pieces..." He said before he closed his eyes, just wanting to stay with Artemis for as long as possible. It would be their last month together. At least in life. But they had at least had a good time together so far. So there was nothing that Llyud regretted at least, and he had nothing to hold against Artemis either, so, they were pretty much both clean. That meant that they could rest in peace when the time came. But that made him wonder if there might not be something on Artemis mind that he wanted to make up for or that he was worried about or something like that. "Artemis... Is there something that you're thinking of that you might want to make up for? I wouldn't want to see you not being able to rest in peace..." |
He shook his head, and sighed."Nope there's nothing I can think of."Artemis then placed his arms around Llyud. The elf also then closed his eyes,he was tired, and he needed his engery for tomorrow."Now let's get some sleep."Artemis then suggested moving Llyud's head so that Artemis was looking at Llyud. He then leaned forwards, and kissed Llyud, it was a soft kiss, but it still had much passion in it.
|
Llyud kissed him back, not trying to put any pressure into it. If there was one kind of kiss that Llyud really enjoyed, it was Artemis's soft kisses. So he was more then happy to receive some. Even if the idea that this comfort soon would be over was enough to make some tears escape his eyes again. But at the mention of them getting some sleep, Llyud gave a bit of a nod, keeping his eyes closed and snuggling close to Artemis. He wouldn't be leaving Artemis's side for even one moment if he didn't have to. But it didn't take all that long for him to drift off into sleep. And during the next day, he promised himself to try enjoy it, and not to think too much about the limited time they had left. And getting Artemis outside did actually help a bit to cheer him up. He was determined to spend the last of their days to keep Artemis happy. Nothing else mattered then that. |
Artemis soon was asleep also.He didn't dream much, but he slept very comfortablily.
The next morning,Artemis opened his eyes, and groaned. The sick feeling in his stomach came back."Llyud....Llyud, wake up."He said poking at the Ageyl."I think I'm going to get sick again."Artemis then said sitting up.He was was reeling slightly, and that made him lay down again.'This isn't going to go down quietly...'The elf thought placing his hand on his head, and taking in deep breaths of air to hopefully calm his stomach down a little. |
Llyud was sleeping deeply when Artemis was trying to wake him up. It took a bit before Llyud reacted at all. At first he just groaned and snuggled closer to Artemis, before he finally opened his eyes, looking up at him some, blinking a bit, obviously tired. He gave another groan as he sat up, rubbing his eyes and looking at Artemis for a moment. "What is it?" He mumbled. He hadn't really heard the part of that Artemis would be sick again. He was a bit out of it in the morning. He wasn't really an early riser. |
Artemis then turned his head, and got sick on the floor next to them. After he was finished,he said in a shaky voice."Sorry...."Then the elf was on another round. The upset stomach would last another few days, then fatigue would kick in,and he would stay in bed most of the day,of course the fever comes a week after that starts, and that leaves two weeks left of Artemis's life to whatever else.
|
This was without a doubt going to be one long hard month. And it really was. No matter how tired Llyud was, he had to constantly take care of Artemis. And no matter how hard it was for him to see Artemis like this, he never even once left his side. He just couldn't. But as the time was finally there. Artemis's last moments in life. Llyud was overwhelmed with depression and sorrow. But still, he was happy. He had done all he could for Artemis the last month. And he was actually glad that Artemis suffering was soon to be over. It was, actually a relief in a way. And on top of that, Llyud would make sure that Artemis wouldn't have to be alone. He had kept it secret till now, but without Artemis knowing, Llyud had made a poison for himself. And he hadn't told Artemis about it till now. He knew that Artemis really wouldn't like the idea, and he had been right about that. But Llyud just couldn't go on without Artemis there with him. So, both of them would be so much more happy this way. They both could drift off into the eternal sleep together now. And while he sat there and watched as Artemis was just closing in on his final moments, Llyud had taken the poison out for himself. But he wasn't drinking it yet. For now, he was sitting with it in his hands. He was waiting for the right moment to drink it. It was a fast and effective poison, so once he drank it, it would only take minutes before Llyud died. And with so much pain and suffering they both had gone trough, he didn't want to die before Artemis. He wanted them to die together. And now, no matter what Artemis said, he still wouldn't give it a second thought. When the time was right, he would drink it. And then they would always be together. |
The fever had kicked in,and he took medications that help stop him from sweating as much.He was lying in bed,and Artemis didn't have long, and he knew it.Artemis placed his hand on Llyud and smiled.Even though his eyes were very dark, and sunken in, they still shown the same child like apperence.'Llyud...'The elf whispered.'....I'm going to miss you.'He then added. He then started to cry lightly, but since he barely had any water left in him they came in a few dropletes before he just looked utterly sad.
He then started coughing again, the coughing spells usually came days even hours before the infected person would die.'But remember you said that do I regreat anything?Well I kind of do....'Artemis then laughed quietly.'I never learned how to throw a spear properly.But...I think I'll let that slide, since I built a house which is even a higher feet for a nomadic elf.' Artemis then turned his head to look up at the ceiling, and he sighed.'But there's one thing that I'll never regret, and that's meeting you.'He turned his head, and reached out his other arm to touch Llyud's face.'Thank you.'He whispered smiling the smile that Llyud enjoyed. Soon after the smile faded, and his eyes became distance. Then his arms became limp, and his eyes closed. His final breath was taken, and Artemis was now dead. |
Llyud was sitting with Artemis the entire time, smiling at him. It was obvious that he was sad, but he also seemed somewhat relived. Soon neither of them had to suffer anymore. Noticing how Artemis was growing weaker and weaker, he finally opened the small bottle with the poison, and made sure to drink it all, before he moved over a bit, laying down on the bed with Artemis, laying near him, and making himself comfortable. He smiled some when Artemis mentioned what his only regret was, shaking his head a bit as he spoke in a low whisper, just loud enough for Artemis to hear him. "Compared to the other elves, you did really become an amazing spear user. You should be proud of yourself... And that you managed to settle down and live a peaceful life, even if it was just for a few years... You have accomplished allot..." Feeling how he was fast getting really tired, maybe he had taken the poison a little too soon? It was already taking effect. But he could hang on for a few more moments. He was not letting Artemis die alone. "Artemis... You won't have to miss me... We will always be together... I'm sorry. It might seem a bit rash, but... I would have been far too unhappy to go on without you... So I will be joining you.... in a few moments..." He smiled a bit, using the last of his energy, to bury his face into Artemis, slowly closing his eyes. He was drifting away pretty much the same moment as Artemis now. And some how, he actually couldn't be more happy. "I love you Artemis... I'll see you soon..." That was pretty much his last words to his love, before Llyud as well was dead. But for some one that had just taken his own life, he was extremely happy. The smile on his face didn't fade away even as his life did. |
Now both Artemis, and Llyud were dead, and the peace and the tranquility have be fallen the two for the rest of eternity
50 Years Later A young man named Iris was walking in the forest. He heard rumors about a house being loctated in the middle of the forest, and seeing that he loved exploring things. He was an elf much like Artemis, but he had nothing to worry about the illness that Artemis caught has found a cure, it isn't perfected just yet, but the survial rate of the sickness has went from 0% to about 30%. A large jump, but still many elves are dying from this still unknown illness. |
Iris wasn't alone with exploring. As always, his friend, Ivan was with him. He wasn't an elf or an Aegyl, or anything like that. He was just a plain human. Or not quite that plain. He was a bit of a strange one. And that went for more then his appearance. His appearance was rather feminine. But that kind of made him a rather attractive guy in his own way. And on top of that, there was not much that could bring his mood down. Most of the time, he was always cheerful and perky. The only things that could bring his mood down was death, pain and rainy days. For some reason, he really did dislike the rain. Or maybe not that strange, since he used to be a traveling salesperson. At least before he had meet his, now, closest friend Iris. Now he had his own little store in town instead. And he was a bit of a braniac. He was really good at inventing quite some useful stuff. But that was part of why he was a bit strange. Except for some costumers, Iris was the only one that ever really approached him. But he was fine with that. He at least had one dear friend. That was more then enough. No one could possible ask for more then that. But for now, he had joined Iris when they had heard of some old house in the woods. He had come along out of curiosity, and he had wanted to go camping with his friend for a while now. And of course, he was just as curious about the house rumor as Iris probably was. Maybe even more. Even if Ivan was one to usually take it easy and take it slow, for once he was being a bit ahead of his friend, climbing up on some hill, to try get a better view. They were supposed to be close to the house now, right? "Iris. Are you sure this is about where it should be? There really doesn't seem to be anything else here then woods. You sure you got the right directions?" |
Iris shrugged."I don't know."He stated watching his frined climb the hill."Do you see anything that would help us find it.I know that there's supossed to be a water fall, and two trangular looking like bushes."Iris then said. The two triangle bushes were actually the tents that were just grown over since the material was a slow decomposing material. And the hill Ivan was standing on was the old unfinished house.
After a minutes Iris heard a faint cracking noise."Uh....Ivan...I don't think that's a hill you're standing on..."He then said nervously.Like most elves Iris had great hearing, but unforunatly that went away when an elf was an adult. Iris would hit his adult hood when he becomes 250he's currently 140. |
Since Ivan wasn't an elf, he was a little confused with what Iris was talking about at first. But as the crashing became louder, he finally looked down, just to see the ground below him crumble under his feet. But by then it was too late for him to really react at it. The last of Ivan that Iris would see disappear into the ground was the long braid. Then he was completely gone down the hole that had opened up under him. And on top of that. When he landed, his leg gave a nasty cracking sound, and a sharp pain following it. It really took all he had not to scream in pain, but he still made a few painful sounds. But it was just getting worse from there. He was laying on something, but he wasn't sure what. It was kind of soft, but there were something that was not as soft there too. And looking on both sides of him, there were one skull on either side of him, and he was laying on top of a bunch of bones. And for a few moments, he was in a really bad shock. He was actually laying on top of two dead people's remains. Just took a few moments before he panicked. "I-Iris!! Help! Get me out of here!" That was one side one didn't get to see allot of from Ivan. Fear. He was usually a rather cheerful character, so this was unusual. But he was only human. Who wouldn't be terrified when realizing that he was laying on top of two skeletons? |
Iris climbed to the top of the house, and looked inside.
The house now was very dusty, when Ivan fell all of the peace and dust that was collected was disurb. He jumped called out."Realx!I'm coming down, then we can find an exit together."He then lowered himself into the house, still holding onto the edge.He swung himself so that he would hit Ivan. Landing on his feet, he got a better look at the house. The table, the bucket, the medical book, everything was in the same place where it orginally was fifty years ago. He then turned and looked at Ivan."You okay?"He asked knelling down to his friend. This gave him a better look at the bones.Artemis's right arm was still leaning over the side of the bed, which now occupied Ivan's head, and his left was completely broken."I think you broke your leg when you fell."Iris then said as he eyes scanned the once whole bed. "Maybe we should stay here until someone comes looking for us,I mean you have a broken leg,and I don't see any kind of exit except the one you made."Iris then said placing a gentle hand on Ivan's leg. |
Hearing that they maybe should stay there till some one came looking for them, Ivan's face went really pale. They were going to stay here with two dead people? That was insane. Not a chance that he wanted to stay here till then. What if the spirits of the two dead ones were restless spirits? Who on earth knew how they died? And with a medical book and a bucket and all laying around, they had without a doubt died in some nasty way. "I honestly don't care about my leg right now. I just want to get out of here..." He just couldn't stand dead bodies. You never knew what might happen. Their spirits could come haunt you, being upset you ruined their final resting place and all. No, he would not stay there. But on other hand, he couldn't move. The pain in his leg was too much. So even if it was making him feel really faint, he was still laying in between the skeletons. If they took a closer look later, they would probably notice something strange about the other. He had a bottle of poison on the floor on his side that was empty, and on top of that, the skeletal remains of two wings. That was something that you didn't see every day, But that might not be something to think about now. "Please at least get me off of the skeletons...!" Since he couldn't move himself, he really could use Iris's help to get off of the dead guys. |
Iris was a little surprised. He listened to Ivan, and lifted him."I know that your scared, but we really shouldn't be walking around."He said sighing deeply. Now we can go into a different room, if this place has one.He then started walking around in search of a new room.
Eventually making his way to a more open area he placed Ivan down."Now do you wanna help me look or wait here?"He asked. It was an automatic question, but he knew that Ivan would most likey say yes. |
Ivan winched when he was being lifted up. Of course he was scared. He had landed on top of two skeletons. Remains of once living people. If he had just disturbed their eternal rest, it could become as bad as two restless angry spirits coming to take his life. Messing with dead bodies was never a good thing. It was one of many things you should never do. Not even by accident. He was surprised at how calm Iris could be in their situation. And on top of that, the smart guy had chosen to jump down in the hole too, instead of getting a rope and pull Ivan up. Now they were both stuck down here. And even if he was taken to some other room and put down, he still didn't feel any better. There was still two dead bodies in the other room. And when Iris asked him if he wanted to help looking for a way out, all he could do was shake his head. He couldn't exactly walk, and it hurt badly to move around with his broken leg. And he would not leave this room unless it meant to get out. "I wouldn't be of much help anyhow now when I can't walk. But could I ask you to, put my bone back in properly?" He knew it would be painful, but if they didn't put the bone in place that could cause complications for him later in life. And Ivan would never be able to do that kind of thing himself. The pain would be too much. He needed help with it. If Iris helped him with that, Ivan would make sure to try calm down a bit and stop thinking of the remains in the other room. |
"Right, and okay."Iris then squatted down, and held Ivan's leg in place."Now this is going to hurt."He said placing his hands in place."Now on my count I'm going to count to three, and I'll place the bone in."He then paused to ready himself, then the elf sighed deeply, and counted."one......two.......three....."He then pulled on Ivan's leg pulling it back into place.Iris then stood up."Now I'm going to see if there's anything still useful in this place that I can use to make a brace for you leg, and to get us out of here."He said patting Ivan on the head."Then once you can stand we can find a way out of here."Iris then added looking around.
|
When Iris started counting down for when he would put the bone back in place, Ivan closed his eyes tightly, preparing for the worst. Though, not even that was enough to prepare him for the horrible pain he got to feel once Iris put the leg back in place. But he still refused to scream, since he knew Iris had good hearing, so he managed to keep it in. And once it was over, it was such a huge relief. The pain and holding back the scream had been enough to make him sweat by the effort. That was how bad it was. He just gave a heavy sigh and leaned back, looking up at Iris. He really hoped that he would find something useful down here that could help with keeping the bone in place and all. And for Iris sake, there better be some way out. Since no one had been there for a while, there obviously wasn't many people around this place. "I really hope you can find a way out, or we will probably end up like those two in the other room..." He really wouldn't want to die down here. But on other hand. He doubted that they had starved to death or anything. In one way. The position they had been in did look as if they did die a rather peaceful death. They were quite close to each other, right? And from what he had seen the few moments he had looked, one of them had wings. Was he one of the 'dying' race? (As they were called these days, since there were really few left of them) Ivan and Iris really had found something unusual down here, no doubt about that. And maybe they could find something interesting around here too? Do you think there might be any kind of document or something left behind from those two...? If they lived here, maybe at least one of them wrote something?" Obviously, Ivan was pushing his fear away with curiousity instead. And it really helped him to be more at ease. |
"Aw don't say that."The elf said trying to surpress his laughter. He didn't want to die here like the two in the other room, but they way Ivan said it made him laugh.Iris's laughed serpassed, and he shrugged."I don't know, maybe,I mean I did see an old book near the fire place. But maybe they had a diary or something.I'll look around for that also when I'm finding somekind of bandage."He then patted Ivan on the head before going off to find bandages and a dairy or any book.
He entered the kicthen/bedroom again, and the first thing he saw was a note book-looking like object. It was laying on the half finished table, and he walked over and picked it up. It was very frail looking and feeling, so he held it in his arm carefully. He also picked up the old medical book by the fire. Then we went on to the kicthen area, and looked in the cabinets. All that he saw was old food or empty containers, then after another minute Iris found some wrapped up bandages, they didn't seem very strong, but Ivan needed them, and once they were saved he can have proper medical treatment. |
While Iris was taking a look around to find something that they could look at to see what had happened here. But while Iris was taking his time, looking around for some information, and something to keep Ivan's leg in place and all, Ivan was glancing around the room he was in at the moment. It seemed to be some kind of storage of some kind. But since he couldn't move around now, he would just wait for Iris to come back. And meanwhile, he was kind of drifting a bit. He was tired. Even if the day had barely begun, it had still been a long day. Way too long for Ivan. He just wanted to rest and forget about about what had happened for now. |
Iris came back a minute or so later, and sat down on the ground near Ivan.'This is all I could find, but it's bettere than nothing."He then placed the items down."And I also found this medical book.It was by the fireplace.I wonder who wrote in it.He then said olding the book in front of him,and moving it around.
After another second of doing that,Iris placed the book donw, and picked up the bangages."I might have to use alot of this since it looks very weak..."He said unrolling it,then placed in on Ivan's leg and started to roll it onto his leg. |
