The young Aegyl was currently deep asleep. It had been about two months since he had come to this place. And ever since, he had been treated as a god. Usually, one would be really happy about that and really take advantage of the situation, but, he couldn't feel emotions. One of many reasons why his race was almost extinct. But he was still taking advantage of the situation in one way. But he wasn't doing anything bad with it. In fact, since everyone listened to what he had to say, and did what he said, he was doing what he found right. He might be cold and aloof, but he was still fair, so there was no doubt about that he was pretty much respected by everyone. Though, who on earth knew what would happen to him if the people did find out he was not a god, or sent by the gods? Most likely he would be executed. But he would most likely be able to escape before that. The best advantage of being able to fly.

But so far, the only one that probably had a clue that he was not a god was the high priestess that was, currently the one with best contact with him. But she most likely wasn't one to tell on him as long as he wasn't abusing the power he had been given. And without emotions, he really couldn't abuse that power. He didn't know greed, lust, pride, wrath or anything like that. So, how much more fair of a 'god' could one be? He spoke his mind without hesitation, and if he found something to be wrong, he would say that. And since he often got to handle people that had done crimes of some sort, he listened to what they had to say, and could easily give a fair judgment. (And who dares to lie to a god?) The poorer people were quite often accused for things they had not committed. If he had been able to feel anger, he would most likely be really upset about the unfair judgments.

But anyhow. Right now, he was deep asleep, in a quite large comfortable bed. Even if he constantly had allot to do as a 'god', and often ended up getting really exhausted after every day. As long as he got the rest he needed, he would stay. For him, it seemed like the right thing to do, as the people here really seemed to be dependent on their gods. And since gods couldn't speak, people had no idea that they might be doing something that's just wrong. Then what he was doing here was quite important.

Meskhenet was currently in one of her chambers talking with one of the lower priestesses. It had been around two months since the supposed 'God', had arrived. She had to admit things went smoothly and he never seemed smug or used his powers to take advantage in a bad way. She was the only one who knew that he truely wasn't a god. She had been slightly suprised by his arrival. She almost thought that the people would attack such a creature, but then it caught in her mind that he did appear as a god to them. He was fair and never wrongly punished people who were accused for something they did not do. That was perhaps one of her favorite changes.

She had grown tired of all the upperclass men and women blaming the less fortunate ones. She hadn't been able to do anything to fix this though, it wasn't included in her job. She did enjoy her life but sometimes, when things became hectic, wished to be somewhere else. She didn't neccessarily like much attention from people who constantly asked questions. There was no way to diguise herself, even to get just an jour or so alone. Her obvious white hair made her easily distinguished. The reason she was asked so much was because she spent the most time with the 'god', and many wanted to know about him more. She told them basic answers, enough to ease their questioning.

The high priestess dismissed the other one and sat on one of the many chairs that were spread about her large, spacious room. Her compared to the 'god's was nothing, even though it was obviously one for someone higher up. There were various decorations of the true gods and goddesses. Hieroglyphics and painting full of rich color covered the walls. Here and there a few tapestries hang, displaying different kinds of scenes. Her bed was canopyed and draped with different blankets with many pillows on her bed. On each side, at the end, were two, large black stone dogs. They were much like her own dog that wasusually kept in her room on their own special rugs and/or blankets.

Llyud really was one to sleep in if someone didn't wake him up. And while he had been here, he have had allot of sleep. Maybe he could earn a few years on his life if he rested allot and didn't fly as much? Even if he didn't care much, it was such a waste to die around the age of forty, just because Aegyl had wings and did tend to fly more then they walked. But here, he really never had much of a reason to fly. Except for when he wanted to be alone, or when children wanted him to play with them. They found it really fun to hang in a rope, just above ground while he was flying around. He was of course taking it really careful so that they didn't get hurt. He was being careful about what he did. If he was found out after being called a god, and accepting it, he would most likely to be killed. So he really had to take care of what he did or said. And he wasn't used to so much attention. Usually, he was more of a lone wolf that tried avoid contact with others. But after coming here, he really was the center of attention. And somehow, he was fine with that, since it was for a good thing. Comparing now to when he came here, things had improved drastic.

But even if he'd rather keep sleeping, it was probably time to get up. He needed to find the priestess. She was the only one that seemed to understand his situation the best. Most likely since she had figured out long ago that he was no a god, but still accepted him as one, as he was making improvements rather then abusing his power. And she really was being of great help too, as she was better with questions then he was. He didn't even know about the Egypt's gods and such till she had taught him, at least the most basics. It was strange to be in a place that had so many gods, while his people only had one. And he still had allot to learn about how things worked.

And having wings, it didn't take him too long from the moment he decided to get out of bed to finding the priestess. He simply searcher to the most usual places, where he knew she often went to.
Best was that he could fly even inside in most buildings here. They were all large and roomy.
So he simply landed a bit further away from her, walking up to her quietly, waiting for her to take notice. He wasn't going to disturb her if she was doing something important.

Meskhenet had dozed off while she was sitting in her chair. When she awoke around thirty or so minutes later, she sensed that someone wanted her. She got up and fixed her white wrap dress, stretching. She looked over seeing Llyud. She decided that he looked like he had a good rest. She smiled faintly at him, still feeling the small grogginess from the short nap she had attained. She pulled her long, white hair back into a simple style before speaking. "Yes? What is it that you want?" She asked as she looked at the winged man. She always enjoyed how he handled the children. She usually watched from not far away. She had observed that the people were really better off with him. She would try everything she could to keep his secret hidden. It was by law or judgement of deeds done that would decide his fate if anyone was to find out. If this was to happen, she did not like to think about it, though she knew things would probably end in utter chaos.

She had learned about someone arriving that was also put into the same position as him. There had been a creature which was partial human and a feline. Unlike the Aegyl, it had taken advantage of it's power. At first the humans hadn't seen this. The feline creature was cunning and sly, good with trickery. They were greedy and loved any gold which they could lay their hands on. Not even the high priestess at the time had known about them not being what they claimed to be. Eventually when things became gradually worse the priestess noticed something was up. She snuck around while spying on the creature and eventually learned it's secret. The priestess had waited a while, figuring things might get better. She waited a month, nothing happened. Nothing worsened or grew better. The priestess finally released the secret, creating an uproar. The creature was instantly chased after and killed.

That is what she had been told, though she was a bit skeptical at first. It had been years since she was told the story. The priestess which had taken her in told her. Many of the other younger priestess had felt the same, they believed that not such a thing could possibly happen. They still felt the same of course, not suspecting anything about the Aegyl. They had since forgotten the story, or if it was brought up, called it a foolish and childish story. She really was the only one who knew.

Llyud simply looked at her as she seemed a bit groggy. Had she actually been sleeping as he came? How on earth did she manage to fall asleep while sitting up? He had never managed to do that. But on other hand. He had his wings in the way if he tried to do that, so it didn't work for him.
But oh well. As she asked him about what it was he wanted, he took a moment to reply. He was still rather newly awake himself, so he was a bit slow.
But he knew what he wanted. He wanted her to teach him more about Egypt's gods and such. If he was to pull this off he needed to know everything worth knowing. And on top of that, he wanted her to tell him what she thought he should improve for the sake of the people.
That was probably the best part of him. He would allow Meskhenet to tell him what she thought he should do. And he had another question as well that he had been pondering over.

"Meskhenet. I would like you to teach me more about your gods. And I want your advice on what should be done as well. You're the only one I really trust among all here. Since you're the only one that knows the truth, and still you have not told anyone about me. And I have been wondering, why? Isn't it strange to follow a false god?"

Meskhenet listened carefully as he spoke and waited for him to finish. She gave him a nod, "Alright. Well.... I don't really see anything that has to be changed really.I have been quite satisfied with your work so far. There has been no unfair punishing or no one has gone unhelped since you have arrived. And truthfully, I am not sure entirely why to follow a false god. All I can say is that, that is how people view you. It gives them hope in a way. I am sure that they would be sad to learn you are not a real god.... if the time ever comes. Though unless anyone was curious enough and follow me or you around all the time and spy. Then we could have some problems."

She said this knowing that it was true. She hadn't expected anyone jut yet, but there could obviously be some problems. The pharoh's doctor might be curious to try. He had always been a michevous and nosy person, enjoying ruining people's lives. She hadn't ever trusted the man and still has yet to find a reason to.

He nodded a bit. It was probably true. He should know as his people had a god they followed to. Everyone probably needed something to believe in. And since Llyud was somewhat like an image of the gods here, it probably gave everyone something to believe in, even for those that had doubts before. And since he wasn't abusing his power, it most likely just made that belief stronger. As long as they didn't start expecting miracles or anything from him. He was simply and Aegyl. He had no super natural powers. All there really was to him was simply that he had wings. Otherwise, he would be a normal human. But on other hand, it was that people were supposed to be able to handle problems themselves, so hopefully, that could save him from having to 'preform' any miracles.

He gave a bit of a sigh. He really hoped no one would start snooping around. His life span was short as it was, and he didn't really intend to be executed for what he was doing now. But as long as he was with the priestess, it should be fine. She could fill him in on details in situations where he had to answer questions about the gods and such. It was a good thing that he had her around.

But then the questions was, what was there to do today?

"As long as you're around, I'm sure that nothing bad will happen. You're an unusually understanding person. Is there anything important that has to be done today?"

Meskhenet wasn't sure about that, anything could happen even if she was around. Just because she was high priestess, it did not mean people wouldn't give her trouble. She had had to deal with things before because of some troublesome people. The had been enstantly executed with no trial or judgement. Those days were long before Llyud had arrived, so he knew nothing other than what she had told him. But so far, that was very little. She hardly spoke of her past and what happened. No even to those close to her, she felt a need to keep things in and to herself. The only reason she was so understanding though was from observing things and because of the way she was raised. She wasn't like most humans, how they were greedy and would do anything for power or money.

As far as Meskhenet knew, there really wasn't anything that day. There was a few errands, but so far nothing had happened. It never hurt to be prepared for the worst though. "Well, form what I have seen, nothing is wrong. No one has told me anything either... so, probably the usual, helping people and allowing questions to be asked. But the questions can wait till around dinner."

He nodded a bit, sighing some. He really didn't like all the questions. It was mostly repeated questions that he had already answered a hundred times before. And he didn't know what more people could possible ask him. But once in a while there was some one that came up with something new and rather surprising. And it had happened a few times that he had been unable to answer the questions, but that's when the priestess was useful, since she could fill in for him. And it had worked well so far. But then again, it was always the problem with some one that might sneak around trying to find out more then they should about him. But those that had tried to had of course been thrown out. No need to really punish them because they were curious. But he was seriously considering if he should. Then people would stop snooping aorund. But then they might become suspicious of him and wonder why he would be so strict about no one disturbing him. But if they kept up like they did now, he wouldn't even get to be himself around the priestess in privacy anymore. And he would have to act like a god during every awake hour. And it was hard doing so just the few hours a day it already was.

But oh well. So far things were going well. And the priestess seemed glad about what he had done so far.
But for now, something to eat would be the best. He was rather hungry. And he did eat allot. But that was because flying took allot of energy, and he was vegetarian. So he had to eat allot to keep his energy up. And it was good he was vegetarian, since then people didn't give him animal sacrifices. But he of course didn't demand that everyone else went vegetarian for that. That would be pushing it a bit far. If they ate meat, the could go ahead and do so, as long as they didn't make him eat it.

"Some food does sound like a good idea now."

Meskhenet nodded, "Alright, the meal should be finished with in a few minutes. We should go now before to many people arrive that it would become a riot to get in." Whenever they had been late to the dinner or another meal before many people would be gathered around the doors. Not many of them were allowed to eat in the same room, but plenty of them knew where the room was and would try to get in. It was quite annoying to get passed them so she tryed to make sure that they got there a bit ealier than the others. She knew that he was a vegetarian and usually made sure that was what the main courses were. She wasn't quite a vegetarian but she wasn't fond of alot of the kinds of meat surved. She was glad that he didn't take animal sacrafices either. She had decided quite some time ago that they were a bit disturbing and they were actually usually eft out for a bit. The smell that came from some of the meat was awful.

Llyud simply nodded. He knew how troublesome it was with too many people around. He didn't really like it himself, so he would rather go right away if that meant they could avoid the crowd. And he did have an idea of how they could get there faster and unnoticed.

"Should I fly us there? It's faster. And easier to get in unnoticed. Then we can also avoid to be stopped on the way by people that wish to ask questions."

He really did everything to avoid crowds. Or people at all if he could. He wasn't that social. And that was an unusual thing for an Aegyl. Ususally, they were not too found of other races. Including humans. But they were still rather social. But Llyud was a bit more withdrawn then other Aegyl. So the constant attention of being a 'god', would be more then he could handle if it hadn't been for the priestess. But he was starting to get an idea of something that might be able to get some of the attention off of him. Maybe he could tell them that he wish to live as a mortal among them? Then it would solve questions that most likely would occur as Llyud grew older. Not that he would become much older then about forty, but he would still change a bit from twenty to forty. But then there was the questions that he might get, why he would want to live as a mortal among them?

"Do you think it would be a good idea to tell the people that I wish to live as a mortal among them? Might solve allot of problems for the future, but there probably would be allot of questions asked about it as well..."
