The pups were just having fun, then Celest said very quietly, "Quick, up this tree." they had come to the large tree Hazel had shown Tyson the other day. "What do you think your Spirit Animal is?" Umay said when they got to the top. "I know mines a bird." Celest said. "I hope some sort of owl, those are cool." Tyson said, "I think mines the Mountain lion! ROAR!" they laughed. "How about you Umay?" "Well, you'll think it's silly..." "No we won't!" "yes!" "No, we promise." "Alright fine. I think mines the deer." "Cool!"

When shadow got to the tree he sighed and wondered why they really wanted to know theirs. He looked up into the tree and smiled at them. Then jumped up and seemed to run in the air and landed on the branch next to them "what are you three doing?" he asked with a smile

"Ahh!" they jumped and Umay scrabbled at the bark but Tyson caught her. "Um, our Spirit Animals."

Shadow smiled at them "I see, well what do you think yours are?" he asked

They jumped up "Mountain lion!" "Owl!" "Deer!" they looked at each other and laughed.

Shadow chuckled and nodded "I see, well they are all nice guesses but you all have to feel your animal. You have to look beep inside for it."

"We did!" Celest puffed out her chest. "I can imagine myself flying! It feels so real!" "I feel long legs under me and can hear real good!" Umay squealed "I feel like I could outfight any wolf in the world!" Umay looked at Tyson worridly when he said that, but soon they laughed. Hazel was under the tree and said, "Shadow, let them have their time to themselves. I need you to help me!"

Shadow smiled at them and then jumped down from the tree. He landed on the ground without a sound and looked at Hazel "okay" he siad happly

"I swear, you freak me out when you land making no noise at all." Hazel said.

They started talking again. "Let's climb higher!" Umay suggested. They climbed until the found a nest that was empty, abandoned years ago. "Wow! Our own lookout!" Tyson said. It looked out over the forest, showing everything, they could see Shadow and Hazel.

shadow chuckled and looked at Hazel "yay I know I do"

"Well try to make some noise. It anoys me."

They were playing around on the nest and Celest kept getting more and more certain that she belonged in the air.

Shadow smiled "okay I will, So what did you want?"

"To get you out of there! The cubs need some time alone so they can play. You don't need to be watching them every second!"

Shadow looked at her and nodded "I know I just worry about them and there safetly"

"Oh relax, there isn't a thing in the world that could hurt them up there except for falling. And even the tree's branches are too big for them to fall for to long." She smiled. "Relax, go fishing, that takes your mind off of things."

Shadow smiled and nodded "yay I should relax" he siad "and I think your right, I should go fishing" he siad and headed towards the stream

"It's so easy and so hard to get rid of him." Hazel laughed.

They were each pretending what it was like to be their spirit animal. "I am graceful and magestic, and I am pretty!" Umay said. "I'm wise and can fly quietly!" Celest exclaimed. "I am strong and can defeat any wolf!" Tyson announced. Umay and clest soon bowled him over, proving him wrong.

Shadow was at the stream and was waiting for a fish to come. but he heard something, he heard the steps of a human. He growled and tryed to determin where the humans where.

"Hey you guys!" Umay pointed. "I see a bunch of weird looking things, what are those?" Celest and Tyson padded over. "Wow, they look like wolves that are really tall with no fur or tails!" Umay said. "Their by Shadow!" Celest pointed out. it hit Tyson. "Their humans!!"

Shadow then saw them but they weren't going after him. They were running after a little boy who looked really scared. Shadow didn't know why he did what he did but he ran over ot the boy and grabed him. Then looked at the people who had been running after him and growled. The people stoped and shadow ran off with the boy into the forest.

"Woah!" The pups had seen the entire thing. "Come on, let's tell Mama!" they scrambled down the tree and ran to camp.

Shadow continued to run till he came to a clearing. He set down the boy and looked at him. The boy looked about 8 and wore torn clothing. He looked at shadow frightend but not as frightend as before. Shadow smiled slightly and licked the boys hand trying to get him to calm down.

"And now he's coming to camp!" Tyson said. They had told her what they had seen. "Well, I'm sure he did it for a good reason. Let's see if we can go find him." Hazel said, leading the way.

Shadow had finnaly got the boy to calm down and layed down next to him. Now that he could get a good look at the boy he had a few cuts on him. The boy smiled at shadow and put his hand on his head. "thank you" the boy said weakly.

"I smell them!" Umay said, dashing ahead into the clearing. She saw the human boy petting Shadow. "Mama, look! The human pup is treating Shadow like a dog!" she squealed.
