"Fall out of the tree!" Umay commanded. "Fall out so I can catch you and grow!"

Alex looked at Umay and then shook his head "no I dont think it works that way. You have do so something grown up without knowing it."

"Well, you never know." she said, putting her small head on his leg and started to push. "Come on, jump off!" she couldn't move him.

Alex looked at Umay and shook his head "no, it is wrong and I could get hurt or someone else could."

"You see, that's my point, I would catch you!" she said, trying vainly to push him.

Alex shook again and said again "no I am not, if shadow and hazel found out what happend they would get very made and I dont want that."

"awwww...." Umay stopped and went in the corner to sulk.

Alex looked at her "I am sorry but if you got hurt or tyson or Celest, shadow and Hazel would get very mad."

With Umay still sulking, Tyson's tummy growled. "I'm hungry...."

Alex nodded "so am I, who wants to go find soemthing to eat?"

"I do!" Celest and Tyson scrambled down the tree. "Umay, you coming?" Celest called when she got down. "No. I wanna think about something." "Sure." Umay was thinking about The Dream as she had come to call it. Hazel had told her the identity of the wolf they had killed, and she was still scared to fall asleep.

Alex looked at Umay and petted her head "okay" he said and ran after the others

Celest suddenly felt a urge to be with her sister. "Um, excuse me you two, I think I'll stay with Umay if you don't mind." "yeah, me too." Tyson said. "Mama brought you a rabbit earlyer!" Celest called as they vaulted up the tree.

Alex nodded "I am going out for a run," he said since he felt the urge to fell like he was flying. Then took off into the forest as fast as a wolf.

They all huddled together. "Can you believe it?!" "I feel so horrible!" "I can't fall asleep at night!" they all remembered how Hazel had told them to not tell Shadow, but they wondered how they would hold it in. "I know!" Celest climbed to the absolute top of the tree, where she could see the entire forest. Tyson and Umay followed. "See, we'll just say it out loud to the wind where no one will hear us!" "Brilliant!" they all took a deep breath and said to the wind, "In our dream the wolf we killed was Shadow!"

Shadow had heard howls but smiled and went to sleep

Alex continued to run

"Wow! I feel so light on my feet!" Umay said happily. "Now the entire forest knows, and yet no one knows!" Celest said. Tyson smiled and howled. They howled too.

When Alex heard the howls something inside of him started to bubble up. He found himself howling back to them

They stopped. "I hear another wolf!" Umay said. "It's not a wolf though, it doesn't sound like one." Celest said. "It sounds to shallow. It must be Alex trying to howl" said Tyson.

Alex didn't stop and the howl started to build and it became louder. It sounded like it wanted other wolves to join in.

Hazel heard Alex howling. "Not that I'm against my own son being a Alpha, but it sounds like Alex has some experience." she said, laughing.

Shadow looked at her and chuckled "yeah sounds like it but he is human."

Alex soon stoped and continued to run and started to chase a squirrel that had crossed his path

Tyson suddenly felt a new feeling. He had never felt it before. Then he knew: it was compitition.
