"Yeah, but he felt weak. There is no keeping Tyson from when he feels like he needs to improve." Celest reasoned. "Besides, I don't think he was ready to be Alpha. He knew it too, he was being rushed into things."

Alex nodded "I see, but shadow is in now shape to be alpha so who is now?" he asked as he looked at them

"Oh, I'm taking place for Tyson. Though I haven't done anything big yet." Celest said. "I think Hazel is doing it better than I am. I just wanna be a Healer."

Alex nodded "well Hazel does have more experience. But I think shadow knows something that we dont and it is why he passed on his place as Alpha to Tyson." he said "maybe Shadow is dieing or soemthing."

"Eww, that' a yucky thought." Umay said. "And I've seen Shadow in worse! Mama said he battled a mountain lion. He only broke his leg, gosh!"

Alex nodded "yeah your right" he said as he looked at them "but hopefully the leg will heal the right way."

"Sure, there's that." she admitted. "But this is Shadow we're talking about! There is no reason he shouldn't be able to survive." They started heading back to camp.

Alex nodded "yeah your right" he said and headed back to camp with them

Hazel saw them coming first. "Alex, shouldn't you be with Sarah?"

Alex nodded and looked at Hazel "yeah I need to head back I just wanted to say goodbye first." he said and hugged Hazel and everyone. Then ran off into the forest.

"Well that was quick." Hazel shrugged. "I'm guessing since Alex made his surprise visit, you didn't get any food?" "Oh yeah!" "Sorry Mama."

Shadow chuckled "it is okay little ones I suspected that this might happen so I went out and hunted myself." he said and pulled out three fat rabbits. "you can pick anyone you want." he said with a smile

"Ahh!!" They each grabbed one. "What do you say you two?" "Thank you!"

Shadow smiled "your welcome little ones." he said happly

As they finished, Umay yawned. They were up half the night getting Tyson to leave. She padded to the den and fell asleep.

Shadow smiled and limped over to Celest "I would like to teach you soemthing that every alpha should know." he said with a smile.

Hazel and Celest looked at each other. "Um.. Shadow, I'm not gonna be the Alpha. I just pretend to be the Alpha until Tyson gets back. Hazel's doing a much better job." Celest sorta whispered. She dashed off and Hazel put her tail on Shadow's shoulder. "You don't need to teach to become an Alpha. You just became one with no tutoring."

Shadow slighed and nodded "I just want them to be ready for anything." he said and looked at her. "but your right" he said and licked Hazel on the cheek. "I am going to go and get some food" he said and limped off into the forest.

"Shadow..." Hazel sighed. He could be so stubborn. "We had a perfectly good rabbit right here!" she called after him.

Shadow didn't hear her and when his front paw touched the shadows he seemed to dissappeared. Shadow reappeared at the edge of there teritory. He was sad that Tyson was gone. He sighed slightly and layed down. He just needed to be by himself now and think about everything.

Hazel sighed. She climbed a tree and wondered how this was all going to work out. Shadow obviously wanted someone to take his place. Celest and Umay just didn't want to do that. Tyson was the leader of the three, and everyone knew it. Hazel knew he would be back at some point.

Celest stepped out of the cave and yawned. The two cubs were nearly full-grown, they didn't like being called 'cubs' anymore. Umay burst out beside her. "Do you know what today is?" she asked her sister. "What?" "Tyson's coming!" "We don't know he'll come right today Umay." "I know, I'm still going to the border to check though!"

Shadow was already at the border and he looked very old now. The fur around his nose had gone white and he had a wise look in his old eyes now. His leg had healed well but he still walked with a limp sometimes. Alex was siting down next to him with a hand on his head and was gently petting him. Alex had grown into a fine young man but he hardly ever came to visit them since sara hated to be apart from him for a long time. "he is coming today" Alex siad and Shadow nodded "yes he is." he siad softly.

Umay and Celest burst out. "Hiya Alex! Hello Shadow!" Umay said. "Are you waiting for Tyson?" Celest asked. Umay climbed a tree and looked over the mountain.
