"Go away from camp!" Umay yelled. "Alright. They changed directions and started toward the underwater cave in the river.

The bear coninuted to chase after them. It didn't care where they where leading it, it just wanted to kill them.

"There it is!" Umay said as they dove in. They got to the cave and put a huge rock in front of it.

The bear didn't jump in after them. It wasn't a very good swimmer and couldnt dive. so he just layed on the side of the river. After aobut a hour it got bored and started to make its way back to its den.

"I'm hungry." "I'm thirsty." "I wanna finish that rabbit!" "That's the same as hungry." "Oh yeah." They sat there moaning for awhile. "How about I go up and check if it's still there." Tyson suggested. "Alright. but you have to come down right away if it's still there." "Sure." Tyson pushed against the rock. It was stuck.

Shadow started to wounder where the pups where and started to look around for them.

"Waddya mean it's stuck?!" Umay wailed. "I mean, it is immovable." "We know what the word means, but how are we going to get out?!" "Well, the air has to come from someplace, we'll look for an opening."

Shadow soon saw the bears paw prints and got worryed. He started to follow it to see where they went.

They met back in the middle. "Well, we've searched everywhere and all we haven't looked is," He pointed. "Up." With Tyson on the bottom and Umay on top, they looked for an opening. "The cave's air come from a tree!" Umay exclaimed. "We can climb out!"

Shadow got worryed when the tracks stoped at the water and started to call out there names as he sniffed the ground looking for there sents.

"quit shoving!" "I can't, that's Celest!" "I should probably get in front of you Tyson. I'm smaller." "So? I can wriggle out!" "Sure, and I'm a flower. Just get out of the way!" "Fine!" Umay popped her head out of the tree. "Hey, I can see Shadow!" She told her two trapped comrades.

Shadow heard soemthing and turned to a tree and saw Umay "what happend" he asked as he looked at her

"hold on!" she wriggled her way out of the tree, allowing Tyson and Celest to wriggle out after her. "We were chased by a bear so we ran to the cave, but it got stuck so we clibed up"

Shadow nodded "that would explain the bear tracks that I found." he said as he looked at them "but at least you three are stafe" he siad happly

"Yeah." they smiled sheepishly and went back to camp.

Shadow watched them go back to the camp but didn't go with them. Instead he started to walk into the forest to do his usuall border patrol.

"He didn't come back with you?! I swear, he will be patroling these borders in the Forest Of Eternal Hunting!" Hazel exclaimed as the cubs came back.

Shadow soon came back with a fat rabbit in his mouth and smiled at Hazel "look what I got" he said happly as he set it on the ground.

"I swear Shadow, you gotta stop! The cubs will do it now!" Hazel said, taking the rabbit. "Face it, your too old!"

Shadow laughed "I am never to old to hunt and I never will be. The day that I am too old will be the day that the sun falls out of the sky" he said as he looked at Hazel.

"Well that day will have to be today." The cubs had slunk off, they knew that Shadow was going to get a stern talking-to. "Face it Shadow, we're both old! Our cubs are grown up and no doubt they'll be looking for their own mates. I'm afraid you'll encounter something and it might..." she trailed off.

Shadow sighed and and licked Hazels cheek. He knew what might happend out there so she didn't have to finish her sentence. "I am sorry.." he said as he looked at her "I promise not to go out anymore." he said softly.

"Alright." she burried her nose in his fur. "I'll let the pups do the patrols. Don't worry."

Shadow nodded and smiled at Hazel when she burried her nose into his fur "I will always worry" he said and licke dher head.

"We're both old and have rights to be worry-worts. But you need to relax." She lay down. "Besides, Tyson would make a great leader."
